Sailor Moon & Nakshatras
I thought it'd be interesting to correlate the different Sailor Moons and their powers with the themes that are present in different nakshatras.
This is a super low effort post so all of it is just speculation and I'd love it if you guys told me what you associate with the different Senshi.
Other than Sailor Moon herself, there are 9 sailor senshi who protect the solar system.
Sailor Moon
Tumblr media
A crystalline object which provides her basic power, contains limitless power and is the source of all energy in the universe. She can call upon her future self to use the power of both the future and present crystal to double its power.
she's the only one who has no power of her own and has to rely on some object so i guess that makes her Moon dominant??
Sailor Mercury
Tumblr media
Sailor Mercury has the power to create and manipulate water. For the entire first story arc, she uses her water-manipulating capabilities only to create solid and dense clouds of mist and fog, chilling and blinding the enemy while her allies prepare more direct attacks
this is actually super on brand Mercury behaviour
Sailor Venus
Tumblr media
I feel like Sailor Venus has more powers than other senshi??
It includes: Flight, Magic, Transformation, Longevity, Immortality (Type 4), Limited Shapeshifting, Teleportation, Forcefield, Light Manipulation, Energy Manipulation, Energy Projection, Weather Manipulation, Electricity Manipulation, Data Manipulation, Creation, Reincarnation (Overtime not applicable in battle), Can Survive in Space, Resistance to Mind Manipulation, Death Manipulation, Existence Erasure, Gravity Manipulation, Radiation Manipulation, Poison Manipulation, Power Nullification, Resistances to Status Effect Inducement and Soul Manipulation, Resistance to Telekinesis etc
idk if this is Venus' "being better than others" theme lol but i feel like these are powers that belong to all 27 naks and not just Venus
Sailor Mars
Tumblr media
Precognition: Rei is shown to have strong precognition, where she can make full use of this ability to predict events from the near future, but it can fail sometimes.
Pyromancy: Rei is also shown to have a great affinity with fire, to the point where she is capable to manifest her future sights by forming images on the flames. The images are very enigmatic and unreliable.
Purification: Even when she is in her civilian form, she can use her "ofuda" (a Shinto talisman used to protect homes from evil spirits) to "exorcize" people, while yelling "Evil Spirit, Disperse!" (although it can cause normal people to faint, as shown in episode 10 when she tried to "purify" Usagi).
Sixth Sense: Rei is sometimes shown to have a "sixth sense", using it to detect "evil presences" and approaching danger, as shown in Chapter 6 of Codename: Sailor V manga, but it can fail sometimes when she mistook Usagi for an evil spirit.
Expert Archer: As a Shrine Priestess, she is an expert archer, and this potential is shown in her "Mars Flame Sniper" attack.
these are a variety of powers that don't really all connect to Mars energy, it's giving strong Venus & Jupiter vibes tbh
i associate the purification, pyromancy and precognitive abilities with Venus and the sixth sense, expert archer ones with Jupiter
Sailor Jupiter
Tumblr media
Electrokinesis, martial arts, longevity, and "emphasized superhuman strength"
these powers are a bit random, i guess the author wanted to emphasize martial arts and physical strength with the masculine grahas but I get more Mars and Sun vibes ngl
Sailor Saturn
Tumblr media
Daughter of a possessed mad scientist, a terrible lab accident in her youth significantly compromised her constitution. After overcoming the darkness that has surrounded her family, she is able to become the Soldier of Silence, Sailor Saturn. She wields forces of destruction so powerful that she is rarely called upon to use them, and unlike the others, her Senshi and civilian personae seem somewhat disconnected. She is often pensive, and as a human has the inexplicable power to heal others.
this backstory is in itself very Saturnian and I think Saturnians do suffer a lot of abuse and injustice in their lives. So all Saturn naks like UBP, Anuradha & Pushya
Sailor Pluto
Tumblr media
Manipulation and control of spacetime, Time Wave Generation Teleport others over short or vast distances. Open rifts or doorways in space through different eras Freeze all of time (forbidden) Erect a shield of time-space energy
i mean it goes without saying but this is literally Punarvasu & Swati. both these naks have themes of space and time travel
Sailor Uranus
Tumblr media
she possesses powers associated with the wind and sky, precognition, as well as sword combat.
this is giving me Mars & Venus energy, more specifically Bharani as it is a Venusian nakshatra in the Mars ruled rashi of Aries
Sailor Neptune
Tumblr media
exceptionally strong psychic abilities and is the only Outer Scout who has such powers and she can channel the power of the ocean.
I associate Neptune's abilities with Pisces (neptune rules pisces so this is a no brainer) and I connect it to PBP, UBP & Revati

Advice for beginner witches or any witch in general: When evaluating witchcraft or spiritual books, it's a good idea to be cautious of certain terms and phrases that may raise red flags. Here are some terms and phrases to watch out for:
"Solve all your life's problems": Be skeptical of books that promise to solve all of your life's issues or challenges through their practices. Life is complex, and no single approach or belief can provide all the answers.
"Open up your mystical powers" or "gain magical abilities": Beware of claims that suggest you can acquire mystical or magical powers through a book or practice. Real personal growth and development often take time and effort; and none of that is a "mystical ability". Truly learning skills is psychological and obviously observed in the consistent change of beliefs, behaviors, cognition and habits.
"Take control of the universe" or "change reality": Claims that you can control powers of the entire universe or fundamentally alter reality should be met with skepticism. Witchcraft is typically more about personal growth and understanding rather than controlling external forces.
"Guaranteed results" or "instant success": Books that promise results or success based purely on mysticism should raise suspicion. Personal growth and spiritual development are ongoing processes that vary for each individual.
Lack of credible sources or citations: If a book lacks credible sources, resources or citations, it might be based on unfounded claims, anecdotal evidence or personal opinions rather than solid research.
Excessive use of jargon and buzzwords: Be cautious of books that rely heavily on buzzwords and jargon without offering clear explanations or practical guidance. Examples:
"Athame": A ceremonial double-edged knife often used in rituals.
"Coven": A group of witches who practice together and often follow a specific tradition or path.
"Grimoire": A personal or magical journal where witches record spells, rituals, and experiences.
"Ancestral veneration": The practice of honoring and connecting with one's deceased ancestors.
"Casting a circle": A ritual act of creating a sacred and protected space for magical work.
"Invocation": A prayer or ritual act calling upon a deity, spirit, or energy to be present.
"Sabbats" and "Esbat": Terms for specific Wiccan or pagan holidays and full moon rituals.
"Widdershins" and "Deosil": Terms used to describe counterclockwise (widdershins) and clockwise (deosil) motions in rituals.
"Boline": A ritual knife used for practical purposes, like cutting herbs or cords.
"Astral projection": The practice of consciously leaving one's physical body and traveling in the astral realm.
"Akashic records": A supposed universal database of information that can be accessed through meditation or divination.
"Elemental correspondences": Assigning specific elements (earth, air, fire, water) to different directions or attributes in magic.
"Hedge witch" or "Kitchen witch": Descriptions of different paths or specialties within witchcraft.
"Asperger" and "Smudging": Ritual acts of sprinkling or using smoke for purification.
"Shadow work": The process of exploring and integrating one's dark or unconscious aspects for personal growth.
Overemphasis on the author's credentials or experience: While it's essential for authors to have knowledge and experience, excessive self-promotion and credential boasting may be a sign of self-aggrandizement.
To make an informed choice, it's essential to read reviews, seek recommendations from trusted sources, and evaluate the author's background and credibility. If a book or resource sounds too good to be true or makes grandiose claims, it's a good idea to approach it with skepticism and consider alternative, well-researched materials.
If you are truly struggling with financial issues, mental health, emotional stability, a lack of guidance, or any other concerning issues, please consider seeking support from professionals, therapists, counselors, or support groups. While witchcraft and spirituality can be meaningful aspects of your life, they are not substitutes for addressing serious challenges or seeking professional help. There are real, evidence-based methods and experts who can provide the assistance and guidance you need to work through these issues. Remember, your well-being should always come first, and taking a holistic approach to your personal growth includes addressing the mental, emotional, and practical aspects of your life. Don't hesitate to reach out to qualified individuals who can provide the support you deserve.

I was chatting with themousefromfantasyland about the Olympic Games and you know, I do have something to point out that people not in France might not know about.
More precisely we were chatting about the situation with the river Seine. Part of the reason Hildago's government focused so much on the Seine, outside of it being - you know - one of the emblems of Paris, is also tied to her project's of sanitizing the Seine. [Note: warning, I will throw it all at the head of Anne Hildago. Maybe there are other authorities beyond her and her city-government involved in this matter, but honestly I don't care, she is a very bad mayor and might have been one of the worst mayors of Paris in modern day, and I don't like the woman, and it isn't the first time she screwed up with poorly-thought if not idiotic plans. So she'll be my go-to culprit for the sake of this post]
Because the Seine, despite being THE most iconic river of France, the heart of Paris, such an important part of the city's culture, a crucial part of its tourism industry, and one of the reasons the city got its official motto - is also dreadfully polluted, and one of the most polluted bodies of water of France. Hidalgo, who was always involved in ecological concerns and in "making Paris great again", decided that for the Olympics the Seine would be cleansed - at least enough for the Olympic athletes to be able to swim in there. She even vowed that she would take a swim in it herself before the Olympics to prove how clean it all became.
Problem is, Hidalgo is the living embodiment of something that has been unfortunately very prevalent with left-oriented politicians in France: vapid ecology. Good intentions, well-meaning projects, but behind it, it is all just superficial and empty. And the Seine purification example is such a great demonstration of this: she literaly thought that by throwing enough money and machines at the Seine, she would be able to clean it up before the Olympics. We are talking of cleaning up in a few months DECADES AND DECADES if not CENTURIES of pollution caused by an enormous city. Hidalgo literaly thought "It's fine, we will just wipe this pesky little problem in a jiffy, and I am so confident that this pollution problem is not a big deal that I will bet France's international reputation on that".
Of course, I can tell you that Hildago did took her swim - but only at the very last minute because, as it turned out, cleaning the Seine took much more time, money and effort than originally planned... and it wasn't even done! First they realized it would take more time than planned, then there was the whole fight between the Paris town hall (which claimed the waters had been purified and cleaned) and the outside health organizations (who claimed the waters would still make people who plunged in them sick), and then of course the RAINS! We are living one of the rainiest summers France knew in a long time, and of course no matter how much Hidalgo's projects clean up the Seine, with each new rain it is polluted again and everybody has to start over. Everybody in France is joking about how the Olympic swimmers will grow a third eye.
That's what I call a "vapid ecologism" - because Hildago clearly never cared very much before about cleaning the Seine, now, did she? She was there for quite a long time but oh, turns out she only puts the big guns and the big money when the Olympic games are arriving. She literaly thinks that a problem that will require years and years of hard work can just go away in a few months? Because it is a very, VERY deep and systemic problem, this Seine pollution, that requires re-organizing PARIS ITSELF!
Right now, all the news are talking about how trainings and trials are currently being pushed back because the Seine waters are, again, polluted after the rain of the opening ceremony, and people are wondering if all the games planned to take place in the Seine (instead of an Olympic pool) won't be cancelled. As such, experts talk more and more about the why and how of this pollution that won't go away, and do you want to know the fun thing? One of the main reasons rains keep polluting the Seine is because the Parisian water-evacuation system is very flawed. There are many, many "wrongs turns", purposefully created or accidentally made, that mix together the evacuation of the rain water and the evacuation of the used waters. When Hidalgo's team decided to finally get their ass on the problem, they identified roughly 23 000 "wrong turns", and by the end of their operation they claimed to have treated 80 percent of them... But what their project and investigations revealed - and that's something so typical of Parisian businesses - that there were MUCH MORE wrong turns than everybody believed. How much? Oh just between 60... AND 120 000 WRONGS TURNS! The entire system is to be remade, and them fixing 80 percent of a meager 23 000 turns when there might be up to 120 000... Yeah it is a speck of dust in a pile of sand.
However I don't want to JUST speak about the Seine. The thing my discussion made me realize is that the Seine situation is just a repetition of EVERYTHING that has been happening with the Olympic Games, and I couldn't help but draw a parallel with another scandalous business related to the organization of these games, though a scandal that has been smothered by the actuality and likely will only pop back up once everything is over. The homeless scandal.
Paris is filled with homeless people. It is a fact, and that's one of the things I myself is always shocked by every time I go to Paris, the amount of homeless people I met. Or rather that I used to meet, because of course, with the Olympics arriving, the cities were "cleaned" up and the hobos removed! I hear you gasp in shock but don't worry, it was actually done in a quite nice and humane way! I mean it: there were empty buildings and vacant lots refurbished into lasting shelters for the duration of the Olympic Games. There were all those little flats prepared for the homeless people to live for free - very tiny, and with just the bare minimum to have a decent life, but you know, it is much better than just being in the street. It doesn't remove all of the homeless people and it doesn't solve their situation, but you know, at least it is an actual improvment and a humane gesture.
Now, take a wild guess: are they going to make it last beyond the Olympic Games? Come on, we are talking about Parisian government, and about Hidalgo's team! Of course not! Once the games are over and everything has been removed, all the homeless people from those buildings will be kicked back in the street, and the shelters will turn into something else. And they were told so the minute they entered their new little temporary homes. Because again, Hidalgo's point is all about cleaning up Paris before the entire world takes a look at it. Not solving Paris problem, just making it look good for the international event.
The Seine, the homeless people - it is all the same. It is a well-meaning project poorly thought by people not actually caring about it, it is a lot of excellent effort not made to last but just to impress, it is a deep and systematic problem that they think they can wipe out in a few months, it is just putting silk paperwall over a rotten, fractured stone ; it is just hiding the dust under the rug, empty humanitarianism, vapid ecologism, fake kindness motived by a good will so detached from reality it becomes as arrogant as absurd. Forcing athletes to swim in a polluted and diseased river because you can't force yourself to admit your town has a problem ; offering with hypocrisy a home to the poor only to plan to throw them back into their misery just because nobody will be looking anymore...

Hey, lovely witchlings! As the sun reaches its zenith and the earth is in full bloom, we come to Litha, the summer solstice, a time of abundance, vitality, and celebration. This Sabbat marks the longest day of the year and the peak of solar energy, when the sun's power is at its strongest.
A Briefing on the History: Litha, also known as Midsummer or the Summer Solstice (Northern hemisphere: June 20th or 21st; Southern hemisphere: December 20th or 21st), is a magical time when the sun reaches its zenith in the sky. It’s the longest day of the year, and the sun seems to pause, bathing the earth in its warm glow. Our ancestors celebrated this pivotal moment with fire and water, acknowledging the balance between light and darkness. Stone circles like Stonehenge were oriented to capture the rising sun on this sacred day. Early European traditions included lighting large wheels on fire and rolling them down hills into bodies of water. The Romans honored this time as sacred to Juno, goddess of women and childbirth, giving us the month of June.
History:
Ancient Roots: Litha has ancient origins and has been celebrated by various cultures and civilizations throughout history. It is often associated with sun worship and the celebration of light, fertility, and abundance.
Solar Phenomenon: Litha occurs around June 20th or 21st in the Northern Hemisphere when the sun reaches its highest point in the sky, resulting in the longest day and the shortest night of the year.
Symbolism: The Summer Solstice symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness, as well as the peak of growth and vitality in the natural world. It is a time of celebration, joy, and abundance.
Tumblr media
Correspondences: -> Symbolism: Life, fire, rebirth, transformation, power, purity -> Colors: Red, gold, orange, yellow, white, green, blue -> Herbs: St. John’s Wort, lavender, rose, peony, vervain, chamomile, chickweed, chicory, sunflower, lily, thyme, and more -> Crystals: Lapis, diamond, tiger’s eye, emerald, jade, and other green stones -> Animals: Butterflies, wren, horses, stags, robins, cattle, phoenixes, dragons, faeries, satyrs
Here are a few ways to honor the magic of Litha:
Rituals and Activities: - Bonfires: Light a bonfire to honor the sun’s power. - Sunrise/Sunset Greeting: Greet the sun at its highest point in the sky. - Create an Altar: Decorate it with sunflowers, oranges, and yellow candles. - Cleansing Herb Bundle: Make your own bundle for purification. - Sun Tea: Brew tea using sun-infused water. - Burn a Bay Leaf: Write intentions on a bay leaf and burn it - Fertility Ritual: Litha is a time of fertility and growth, and rituals may focus on promoting abundance, creativity, and prosperity. Some practitioners may plant seeds or perform fertility rites to symbolize the fertile energy of the Earth.
Modern Celebrations:
-> Community Gatherings: Many Wiccan and pagan communities host public rituals and gatherings to celebrate Litha, inviting people of all backgrounds to join in the festivities and honor the sun's energy. -> Altar Decorations: Altars are adorned with symbols of the sun, such as gold or yellow candles, sunflowers, citrus fruits, and solar symbols like the sun wheel or the Celtic solar cross. -> Feasting: Traditional foods associated with Litha include fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, bread, dairy products, and grilled meats. These foods celebrate the abundance of the summer harvest and nourish the body and spirit. -> Nature Walks: Taking a nature walk or spending time outdoors is a simple yet meaningful way to connect with the energy of Litha and appreciate the beauty of the natural world during the height of summer.
Tumblr media
Recipes: 1. Mead: A honey wine enjoyed by our Celtic and Norse ancestors and many to this day. It is easier to support local experts in the craft of making this than starting up a whole kit of making mead. Choose wisely. (I included a basic starter recipe for those brave enough to venture into the fermentation game. I'll stick to supporting my local businesses!) 2. Sun Tea: If you are unable to drink alcohol or prefer not to, sun tea is a great alternative or a great addition to your Litha celebration! They are called "sun tea" because it is tea brewed from the warmth of direct sunlight! If the weather is cloudy, sun tea may not be the best recipe to try. Common sense <3! 5. Sunflower Seed Pesto Pasta: Cook pasta (such as penne or fusilli) according to package instructions. In a food processor, combine fresh basil leaves, garlic cloves, sunflower seeds, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Blend until smooth. Toss the cooked pasta with the sunflower seed pesto, cherry tomatoes, and sliced summer squash or zucchini. Serve topped with additional Parmesan cheese and fresh basil leaves. 6. Summer Solstice Salad: Mix a variety of fresh greens, such as spinach, arugula, and butter lettuce. Add sliced strawberries, blueberries, and orange segments for a burst of color and sweetness. Sprinkle with toasted almonds or walnuts and crumbled goat cheese or feta cheese. Drizzle with a dressing made from olive oil, balsamic vinegar, honey, and a pinch of salt and pepper. 6. Grilled Vegetable Platter: Slice a selection of summer vegetables, such as bell peppers, eggplant, zucchini, yellow squash, and red onions. Brush the vegetables with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and your choice of herbs (such as rosemary or thyme). Grill the vegetables until tender and lightly charred, then arrange them on a platter. Serve with a dipping sauce made from Greek yogurt, lemon zest, garlic, and fresh herbs. 7. Honey-Lavender Lemonade: In a saucepan, combine water, honey, and dried lavender buds. Heat gently until the honey is dissolved, then remove from heat and let the mixture steep for 15-20 minutes. Strain the lavender-infused honey mixture into a pitcher and discard the lavender buds. Add freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pitcher and stir to combine. Serve the honey-lavender lemonade over ice, garnished with fresh lavender sprigs and lemon slices. 8. Berry Galette: Prepare a simple pie dough or use store-bought dough for the crust. Roll out the dough and transfer it to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. In a bowl, mix fresh berries (such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries) with sugar, cornstarch, and a squeeze of lemon juice. Spoon the berry mixture onto the center of the dough, leaving a border around the edges. Fold the edges of the dough over the berries, pleating as needed. Brush the edges of the dough with milk or beaten egg, then sprinkle with coarse sugar. Bake the galette in a preheated oven until the crust is golden brown and the berries are bubbling. Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
Tumblr media
Remember, Litha is a celebration of the sun’s abundance and the Earth’s fertility. Embrace the warmth, dance, and honor the cycles of life. Blessed be! 🌻🔥🌿
Note: This post is a brief overview. For more details, explore the rich traditions and make Litha your own! 🌞🌙

“The Ordinance of Baptism at Brownstown Jamaica"
George Baxter, after Joseph Bartholomew Kidd. “The Ordinance of Baptism as administered by the missionaries connected with the Baptist Missionary Society to 135 persons near Brown’s Town, in Jamaica, in 1843,” colored wood engraving. Victoria and Albert Museum, London.
Tumblr media
The Jesuit priest Abraham J. Emerick, who served as a missionary in Jamaica (1895–1905), indicated that “Mialists” wore white robes during their ceremonies, and he linked this feature to the white robes donned by Revivalists and Bedwardites during the early twentieth century. White was and remains the most prominent color symbolizing the world of invisible powers (deities, spirits, ancestors, etc.) in West and Central Africa.
Witnessing or undergoing the baptism ritual likely would have reinforced the numinosity of the color white and the involvement of invisible entities beyond the Christian Trinity in a transformative initiatory experience for African converts, whether of Igbo, Asante, or Kongo heritage. These three groups and their neighbors composed the largest percentage of Africans to enter Jamaica during the entire transatlantic slave trade. In particular, the Kongo kingdom, which had come under Catholic influence beginning in the late fifteenth century, gave Jamaica’s Myal tradition its name and purpose.
BaKongo groups interpreted bodies of water as a boundary between the visible and invisible worlds. Moreover, the Simbi, a class of guardian spirits associated with waterfalls, springs, rock formations, and other phenomena in nature, might have edged their way into the theological imagination of some candidates as they waded and were washed in the water.
In Kongo, those initiated into the societies of ritual and healing experts were capable of contacting invisible forces that could remedy social and personal afflictions. Myal societies in effect were reconstituted ritual societies of Kongo persuasion mirroring the healing activities of Lemba, Nkimba, Kimpasi, and Ndembo custodians in Central Africa.
The baptismal death and resurrection purification rite performed through candidates’ immersion into and rising from the water had a counterpart in Jamaica’s African spiritual traditions. The Myal death and resurrection rituals in which novitiates would appear lifeless until ceremonial experts resurrected them into a new life of knowledge and ritual leadership within the society are perhaps the most tangible examples we have on record today. If Myal members wore flowing white robes before the Baptist tradition came to Jamaica, extant pre emancipation descriptions of the society do not make any mention of it.
The Christian rite of baptism, in which candidates — adorned in ankle-length white robes — encountered the numinous in the natural environment, would have cemented the connections that Africans seeking to belong to two over-lapping worlds (the Baptist and the Myal) were bound to draw between them.
In the Victorian universe of Christian denominations, the Baptist tradition bended most pliably toward African modes of religious apprehension. Initiation into this legitimate society offered converts access to knowledge, power, enhanced training, and status — all social goods that allowed them the best chances to prosper in post emancipation Jamaica. For Baptist converts with comparable commitments to Myal denominations, the same social goods obtained within the private cosmos they constructed among themselves, a world they understood as theologically and spiritually conversant with some of the central symbols and rituals of the Baptist faith.

Reflecting on 20 years of progress in interfacial sciences and engineering
Interfacial reactions happen at the boundary where materials in different phases, for example a solid and a liquid, meet each other. These reactions drive all elemental cycling on Earth and play pivotal roles in human activities such as agriculture, water purification, energy production and storage, environmental contaminant remediation, and nuclear waste repository management.
In a review paper recently published in Chemical Reviews, 23 experts in solid-water interfaces celebrate the scientific advances in the field of interfacial reactions since the seminal paper on the topic was published in 1999. They also present new avenues and opportunities to explore in the decades ahead.
"It's truly an honor to work with outstanding scholars from around the world to report 20 years of progress in interfacial sciences and engineering," said Young-Shin Jun, professor of energy, environmental & chemical engineering in the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis and one of the leading and corresponding authors on the review paper. "Throughout this project, even during the dark time of the pandemic, many of us met virtually to work on the mega-collaboration review paper, and we all remain hopeful and eager for the impact this science can have."

Here’s my entry for Sabezra-Dinbo Solidarity Week! It’s a short, silly little ficlet, so I included it under the cut, too. 👇
Enjoy Ezra preparing to skinny dip in the Living Waters — some Mandos are less enthusiastic about that than others. 😁
“What do you think you’re doing?”
The Jedi boy froze, his left boot halfway off his leg.
“I’m going for a swim.”
Planting a hand on her hip, Bo struck him with a ‘this-is-not-the-time-nor-place-for-your-cavalier-impudence’ glare.
“I know you’re going for a swim.” She gestured out to the dark, glassy surface of the Living Waters. “What I don’t understand is why you’re taking off your clothes. Here. Now. In front of us. I told you it’s freezing down there, didn’t I?”
With his shirt already crumpled on the stone steps, Bridger, standing at the water’s edge, was precisely one boot and a loosened belt away from standing there in his skivvies — or even less. The boy had spent the last several years away from civilization, but it never crossed her mind that Wild Space might’ve turned him into a feral nudist.
She wasn’t an expert on this particular Jedi and his particular eccentricities — only that he had a gift for connecting with lifeforms of all shapes and sizes. Luckily, the Mandalorian who knew Bridger best (and had been watching him undress in spellbound silence), happened to be standing right beside her.
Bo nudged Sabine with her elbow.
“Uh-uh-uh, yeah, Ezra…” she sputtered, blinking out of her stupor, “…why are you taking off your clothes? Not that it’s a problem, of course — you’re the expert here! Do whatever you need to do!”
“He’s not an expert,” Bo sighed, rolling her eyes. Apparently, there were two hundred-ton leviathans in the room: the ancient creature lurking beneath the water, and Sabine’s crush on Bridger. “There aren't any experts. Mythosaurs went extinct millennia ago…except for this one.”
Sabine crossed her arms, focus still fused on the half-naked Jedi. “I trust Ezra to do whatever the Force tells him to do. And if the Force tells him to strip down right in front of meeeeeuuuuuuhhhhhhuuuuussssss…well, then…so be it!”
“Why don’t we just look in the other direction?” spoke a much-needed voice of reason. On Bo’s other side, Din pivoted to face the Mines’ entrance.
“We can — and we should — but that still doesn’t...” Bo balked, calling down to Bridger before he could finish unclasping his belt, “…alright, stop! Just stop. Please. There’s no need for that. You’re in the Mines of Mandalore, not a sauna on Mon Cala.”
Shrugging, he waved his hands around in self-defense. “Hey, you said the Living Waters were the most sacred place in all of Mandalore! I’m just trying to keep from contaminating them! To show the proper reverence, you know?”
“The proper reverence!” yipped Sabine, giddy as a foundling with a flamethrower. “Great thinking, Ezra! Showing the proper reverence is probably very important to the mythosaur. I’m sure he’d hate if you brought a bunch of icky synthetic microfibers into his home!”
“No, I really don’t think he would,” mumbled Bo. She shook her head, dragging a gloved hand across the side of her face.
“There might be something to that,” added Din. Three heads — Bo’s included — jerked to face him. “The Living Waters are a place of purification, and the spring has a high concentration of molecular beskar. To connect with the creature, maybe it’s best to only wear beskar down there. If the mythosaur doesn’t take a liking to the Jedi…we might be eaten next.”
“Right! I’d really hate to become a snack...” Sabine’s teeth caught her bottom lip as she gave the bearded Loth-lad a pair of brazen turbolift eyes. Her voice dropped to a breath, so soft and low that Bo could’ve convinced herself she didn’t hear a thing: “…for a mythosaur.”
She hit her with a flat ‘I heard that’ look — then cuffed her across the back of the head for good measure — before speaking to Din.
“Fair enough. Who knows how picky the mythosaur is about his houseguests? Might as well leave it to the…expert.”
“That’s me!” chirped Bridger, raising his hand in a cheeky salute.
Swiveling around to face the same way as Din, she heard the dull thunk of his other boot hitting the steps, trying not to think about a Jedi, the ancient enemy of Mandalore, skinny dipping in the same pool her ancestor visited thousands of years ago (a qualm which Sabine, who appeared in no great hurry to avert her gaze, clearly did not share).
Bo was fortunate enough to be supplied with a timely distraction.
“When I bathed in the Living Waters before, I didn’t think to wear only beskar,” muttered Din, sounding grim and rueful. “I’ll have to do it again, this time with just my helmet. In the eyes of the Manda, I’m still an apostate. I shouldn’t be calling myself a Mandalorian or instructing Grogu in our ways when I haven’t redeemed myself properly. All this time…”
His voice faded into the background as Bo imagined Din repeating the purification ritual as he’d described.
In just his helmet.
A good friend — which she was to Din, or tried to be — would have listened to him and offered encouragement and support, reassuring him that the spirit of the ritual mattered, and technicalities couldn’t reduce him to anything as bleak as an apostate.
An even better friend would watch his back (and necessarily his backside) to make sure he didn’t plunge off the edge again.
Bo could definitely be that better friend.
SPLASH!
“Mother of gundarks…” Sabine squeaked beside her, evidently having gotten an eyeful before Bridger dove into the Living Waters. “…I guess Ezra did have some beskar on him…buns of beskar.”
Raising an eyebrow, Bo crossed her arms over her breastplate, ignoring the prickle of her own hypocrisy.
“Don’t make me comm your mother, young lady.”

Rainy Season RO Purifier Service: Ensuring Safe and Clean Drinking Water!
Tumblr media
Rainy seasons refresh the environment and provide respite from the sweltering heat. Still, they have their share of difficulties, particularly regarding drinking water quality. Due to polluted water sources, waterborne illnesses are more common during the monsoon season. Here, RO purifier services are essential for guaranteeing the purity and safety of drinking water.
This blog examine the importance of RO purifier services during the rainy season, emphasizing their need and the numerous advantages of selecting a reputable supplier like Ram Services & Sales.
So, let’s get started!
Importance of RO Purifier Service in Rainy Seasons
Have you ever wondered why the rainy season necessitates extra care for your RO purifier? The monsoon brings many toxins that can contaminate your water source. Thus, that’s the answer. The rainy season can affect the cleanliness of your water due to germs that thrive in moist settings, and contaminants splashed down from rooftops.
Rainwater may appear pure, but it’s crucial to remember that it can also contain contaminants and pathogens. As it aids in overcoming these difficulties, a RO purifier service for the rainy season becomes essential. It ensures that your water is devoid of dangerous germs, pollutants, and suspended particles, protecting your family’s health.
Sources of Contaminated Water – Despite appearing pure, rainwater frequently picks up contaminants and bacteria from the air, roofs, and nearby regions. It is dangerous to drink untreated water because these toxins can get into water sources.
Waterborne Diseases – The danger of waterborne illnesses, including cholera, typhoid, and gastroenteritis, rises during the rainy season. Drinking water is free of pathogens thanks to efficiently removing hazardous bacteria, viruses, and other contaminants by RO purifiers.
Protection from Chemicals – Water can include dangerous chemicals, heavy metals, and biological hazards. These contaminants are removed using specialized filters by RO purification systems, protecting your health.
Enhanced Taste and Odor – Rainwater can sometimes have an earthy or metallic taste due to dissolved minerals. RO filtration purifies water, enhances its flavor, and eliminates any unpleasant odors.
Benefits of Rainy Season RO Purifier Service
Your RO purifier transforms into your dependable defense against waterborne illnesses when the skies open up, and it starts to rain. The following are the main advantages of choosing a RO purifier service during the rainy season:
Enhanced Filtration – Pollen, dust, and other pollutants can be found in rainwater. A RO purifier with regular maintenance and prompt repairs can effectively filter out these pollutants.
Elimination of microorganisms – The monsoon season’s humid conditions serve as a growing environment for germs and viruses. To make your water safe to drink, a RO purifier’s UV filtration mechanism aids in the elimination of harmful germs.
Optimal Performance – Regular servicing ensures that your RO system performs optimally, delivering the highest quality water without compromise.
Extended Lifespan – A Rainy Season RO Purifier Service helps extend the lifespan of your appliance, saving you money on premature replacements.
Cost-Efficiency – Preventive maintenance is often more cost-effective than dealing with a malfunctioning system. Regular servicing can indeed help identify potential issues before they become significant problems.

Trigun Stampede episode 8 liveblog!
I've been told that this likely has Vash backstory, so. Expecting trauma and probably explosions. :))
Yep flashback time
... a year since what, exactly? Like. Since they've been in her care, or are they like a year old at this point.
Wait why would Vash need to eat if Knives doesn't? That's interesting.
That was a little unnerving how fast Knives went from a monotone disinterest to outright giggles. (To be fair I also have a tendency for monotone and laughing at the drop of a hat, but going from emotion to emotion so fast caught me off guard).
It is really interesting that Knives does seem genuinely attached to Rem to some capacity. If memory serves me, he was the one to ask her to get into the escape pod with them, but also he turned around and started denying affection for her like the next scene? I wonder what's happening there, like if he's being honest in that last scene or justifying things to himself.
Huh. That escape pod doesn't really look like the reused spaceship parts we saw on the ship. Different time periods, assumedly? I guess it is a possibility that Vash has been on the planet since the initial colonization, but that seems unlikely.
Actually what is with the meteor-shower-looking happenings here? It doesn't look like they're all from the same destroyed spaceship, so maybe it's just a natural event coinciding.
Huh. The people in the pods had different hair colors, I think. Maybe regular humans rather than Plants, then? That would make more sense as to why Knives is letting them burn.
Actually now that we're seeing this scene again, Knives kind of just sidesteps the accusation that he killed Rem, rather than saying anything about it. Oops.
Gate? Dream sequence? ...Imaginings?
Oh people! Okay that means that the planet had already been colonized. Did they not see his markings or...?
Oop, no they do. Wait, huh, they're wearing very similar clothing. Okay maybe further back in the timeline than I thought.
And they have lost tech just on hand.
asdhfkl the ">>TOP SECRET<<" banner on the display
On topic, though. Plants giving birth. Okay that's new information I didn't know about. We haven't really seen plants having much mobility when they're... mostly in ball form and isolated. Do they reproduce asexually? I guess that's different from cloning process-wise, but wouldn't it still give the same results on a genetic level (epigenetics aside)? Also if they're 'independents', is that referring to them being created without cloning, or something further, I wonder?
Oh they're also referring to people as Sinners! ...that's weird. Prison colony, or more weird religious stuff?
"molecular plant studies" okay but like. Why do they need experts on a molecular level? Wouldn't like doctor, vet, or even like biologist (botanist?) level be more helpful?
Oh these people still have access to ships! Alright. That they're in contact with both them and the "Sinners" is interesting. I'd assumed the "Sinners" were the stranded population, but maybe not?
I think it's really entertaining that everything else is so high-tech except this guy is holding a normal-looking wrench. I guess they've been refined to peak performance already lol.
"he's just a kid" - weird that she's not trying to like. dehumanize him. I'd assume they'd really want to discourage the idea that plants are sapient, given the conditions that we've seen them kept under.
"activated their gravity plant" okay there's a lot being implied here lore wise but I don't think I really can say anything about that so just. moving on.
They have different generator specialties? That's interesting. ...It didn't seem to be the case for the other plants we've seen in present-day, though? It looked like they're doing at least water purification and energy production.
I assume the Gate is what Vash produces? I mean we don't really know how it functions, but it seemed to be implied that it was exclusive to him.
They found the black box! Uh oh.
Wait! Okay Brad(?) has got a nameplate on that says "Seeds." Related to Plant stuff, or planet colonization, I wonder?
Are the tally marks meant to look like crosses? With this show I honestly can't tell lmao.
Oh man that's a lot of plants. Do they each have their own thing? They keep mentioning their functions as singular (ex. the gravity plant, the electricity plant).
Are the red/previously assumed to be dying/damaged plants just in the process of... whatever this is? Hatching? Blooming?
Okay frankly I'm a little confused as why this Brad(?) keeps denying Luida so much? I thought she was his commanding officer??
In the middle of one of the sand seas, huh? I guess that might be why they haven't seen any outside people? <- still not sure about the timeline
...why is Brad(?) looking around and gasping. did he not notice the tally marks before somehow?
So like. What is the deal with the way plants are viewed? I'd assume they'd be thought of more as tools/animals/actual plants, but reactions appear to be ranged from nothing to distrust to fear/hatred?
With the time jump to teen(?) Vash, I'm starting to think maybe this is the point where humans came to the planet first.
Yeah this is not gonna end well. This entire sequence is just flag after flag omg
Man, I thought the last episode had a late title display.
So like what was Vash communicating with the plants? It doesn't really seem like their situations are improving, other than the fact that they have a conversation partner/outlet?
Oh, he left the jacket. ...well there goes any hope of them getting off the planet or out of this situation alive, frankly.
oh! the flashback is cut short. I was fully expecting to see the whole story, but I guess it is getting to the end of the episode. Trauma delayed! Possibly just until the next episode, though.
Or wait no nevermind this is still a flashback. I think.
Given the background music and silhouettes, I assume the plants are all dead?
Hmm. I don't think I recognize any of the people standing near Knives?
End notes:
Well that's a bit of a cliffhanger! And we still don't find out what the rest of the group has to say about Vash's newly revealed plant status.
I'm still very confused about the timeline here, but that's probably intentional, haha. But I feel like if Vash really had been around since humans first came to the planet he'd be a bit more well-established. Like historically and community-wise, outside of the bounty, I mean. Even with limited travel or communication, people still talk and word still carries.
On a personal and somewhat negative note, I feel a little put off by some of the character dynamics present in the whole Brad-Luida-Vash situation, particularly as Luida's case. It's just kinda... leaning too much into gendered roles. I mean in this case I guess they might be trying more for a 'new set of parental figures' thing with the dynamic to match, but... eh. Nothing's perfect I guess.
I will say I overall enjoyed the episode though! The mystery of the timeline is kind of fun, and there was some important worldbuilding and character exposition.
