You’ll explore Thedas, uniting a cast of (yes, romanceable!) companions as you fight against ancient elven gods. In this crafted character-driven RPG, you’ll visit meticulously crafted biomes and beautiful regions, some that you’ve only heard whispers about in Dragon Age lore, including Rivain, Weisshaupt, Arlathan, Minrathous, and the Deep Roads - to name a few. The game will support various skill levels, but at its core, Dragon Age: The Veilguard has fluid moment-to-moment combat where you can choose between three classes - Warrior, Mage, or Rogue – each having their own advanced specializations. There's also a layer of tactical depth for those who want to dig in, which we really didn't get to cover in the video. Our new customizable ability wheel will help you turn the tide of battle at any time. It will allow you to pause the action, issue commands to your followers, use abilities, and unleash devastating combos. As you become more powerful, you can start to see the potential in how much fun (and hectic) things can get. We're also giving the option to use some of your abilities via a shortcut. Giving you these different kinds of options is something we thought a lot about and wanted to provide so you can find the playstyle that best fits you. “tim , we’re gonna build a castle. I don’t care what anyone says,” keeho said, already planning his empire.

“a castle? we’ve been in here for thirty minutes and we haven’t even found food yet, dude.” timothy replied, but he was clearly all-in for keeho’s wild idea.

doeun had been busying herself with gathering flowers, announcing that she was going to create a beautiful garden. ary, on the other hand, had one goal: diamonds.

“mining is life,” ary muttered under her breath as she began digging straight down, ignoring everyone’s warnings about minecraft’s number one rule.

surpringly soul and bibi had teamed up, and the two were focused on building a cozy little house near the water. lily, meanwhile, was exploring a nearby cave, determined to find enough resources to make everyone weapons and armor.

“lily’s going to be our mvp,” bibi joked, watching lily fearlessly descend into the cave system.

“she’s about to go crazy finding them resources- ain’t that right lily?!”

“YEP!”

“and uh… what about you potato aim?” yn asked as she gathered materials nearby.

“i’m building a house right by the river! i’m gonna raise a pet here. I found a duck, and i’m calling him ducky.”

a wave of laughter erupted in the chat.

“a duck? you’re raising a pet duck in minecraft?” yn wheezed.

mingi defended his decision. “hey- he’s going to be the best duck ever.”

mingi’s house was a small but sturdy wooden structure with a fenced-in area where ducky waddled around happily. yn’s base was far more elaborate, and she had enlisted art’s help to mine resources, which she decided to house the rest of the group that hadn’t already been building shelter.

"yn, I don't trust you," mingi declared out of the blue while tending to his duck.

“what? I haven’t done anything yet,” yn replied, a grin creeping onto her face.

“you’re plotting something, I can feel it. you’ve been walking near my house and walking away for 15 minutes now..”

“you must be seeing things.”

meanwhile, chaos erupted on tim and keeho’s side of the map as they bickered over how tall the castle walls should be. keeho wanted it to be grand and towering, while tim just wanted something functional.

“we don’t even have enough stone for this!” tim groaned.

“we can always mine more. get with the program!” keeho shot back.

“ladies, ladies you’re both pretty! now hush it up!” bibi yelled, laughing.

soul and bibi had fallen into a relaxed rhythm, their house now the coziest on the server, complete with flower beds courtesy of doeun.

“eunnie!!! these flowers are so pretty!!”

“THANK YOUUU!”

lily was still deep underground, occasionally muttering about creepers and lava pits. “ary come down here with me and bring a torch.. I forgot some..”

“how the heck did you get down there then?”

“I let the wind guide me!!!!”

“WHAT TYPE OF STUPID SHIT IS THAT??”

“uh, hold on, guys. my food just got here.” mingi said.

“what type of food?” soul asked immediately.

“jack in the box!!!”

everyone paused for a second.

“wait, what?” ary laughed.

“his stomach is gonna do backflips, oh lawddd,” yn muttered dramatically.

“that’s an earthquake waiting to happen,” keeho chimed in, barely able to contain his laughter.

the others erupted into laughter as mingi’s character went idle, just standing there with his pet duck next to him.

“I don’t care what anybody says- im about to fuck this shit up!!!” mingi said, his chair creaking as he got up.

“you better hope nothing happens to your house while you're gone,” yn teased.

“you better not yn.” tim spoke up.

“I DIDNT SAY NOTHING??”

a few minutes passed, and mingi finally returned, his voice muffled as he was clearly stuffing his face with food.

“okay, I’m back,” he announced.

“is it good mingi??”

“BRO YES. don’t come for me doeun im just trying to enjoy my foo- OH MY GOD.”

“what?” everyone asked.

“MY HOUSE WHAT THE FLIP?!” mingi asked, panic already rising.

“YO MINGI’S HOUSE IS GONE..”

“YN!!!!”

“WHAT THE FUCK DID I DO?! IM WITH SOUL AND BIBI!!”

mingi’s screen read “you died! / pinkminks was blown up by emperorsluv”. he quickly clicked respawn and his face dropped. his entire house had been blown to smithereens. all that was left were a few scattered blocks, the fence barely holding together. and worst of all, ducky was gone.

“no… no, no, no, no, no!” mingi cried, his character running frantically around the remnants of his house.

“where’s ducky?!” His voice cracked dramatically. “he was my only friend!”

“WHAT ABOUT ME??”

“NOT NOW EUN!!”

“i’m so sorry, pinky,” she whispered, holding back laughter.

“WHY ME?!” mingi demanded, spinning his character around in circles.

yn, cool and collected, simply said, “I don’t know… maybe it was karma.”

“karma for what?” Mingi was practically sobbing into his mic.

“you made us lose that valorant match!!” YN’s grin was audible through her voice. “I told you I’d get you back.”

there was a brief pause before mingi’s gasp, thick with betrayal, echoed through the server.

“YOU BLEW UP MY HOUSE BECAUSE OF A MATCH WE PLAYED A WEEK AGO? WHAT- DUCKY IS GONE BECAUSE OF YOU!!”

the sheer drama in his tone sent everyone into fits of laughter once again.

ary, who had helped yn with the sabotage, chimed in. “in yn’s defense, it was very funny.”

“i can’t believe you two did this to me,” mingi groaned. “my duck… my house… I was just trying to enjoy my jack in the box…”

“lesson learned,” yn teased. “don’t mess with me in valorant, and don’t leave your house unattended in minecraft.”

“you’re absolutely savage for that..” tim said.

soul kept giggling like he couldn’t breathe and the rest of them had already died of laughter.

mingi’s avatar sat down on a nearby block, defeated.

“i can’t believe this…” he said dramatically.

“i’ll help you rebuild mingi, don’t worry.” bibi offered sweetly, while the others continued laughing in the background.

mingi, after hours of moping and pleading, has convinced the entire group to rebuild his house. the new structure was much bigger and sturdier, and with doeun’s finishing touches, it even had a garden.

“alright, mingi.. you’re house is done be grateful.” yn said as she helped put some carpets in the house.

“this won’t bring back ducky…” mingi muttered, still not fully over his loss.

soul chimed in. “if you want another duck, I found an egg earlier. maybe you can raise another ducky.”

“y’all I want a ducky too don’t play..”

“we’ll get you a duck too lily..”

mingi sighed dramatically as everyone stood around mingi’s new house, admiring the work they had done.

just as they were about to call it a day, a creeper appeared out of nowhere, hissing ominously right next to mingi’s new house.

“mingi I think you might wanna move???” tim shouted, but it was too late.

the explosion rocked the server once again, and mingi’s new house was reduced to rubble. everyone was silent for a beat before erupting into hysterical laughter.

mingi, however, was inconsolable.

“WHAT THE HELL?! THIS IS A CONSPIRACY!!!” he wailed dramatically. “WHY IS THIS ONLY HAPPENING TO ME.”

Major edit here because One (1) individual is EXTREMELY insistent on it but NO, we are NOT an alt account of the Lucky Clover Collective. That’s our partner system that we’ve known for more than a year and a half and have been dating since January 12 2024. We first met through an Among Us fandom, for a Youtube series made by Rodamrix. We were a huge fan of their art on tumblr, but we met through Roda’s official discord server. They were the first ever NOT anti-endo system we ever met and we got to have a healthy conversation about endogenic systems in a space where we wouldn’t get flamed on the spot for expressing our thoughts and opinions

Off topic from that though, we were still identified as a singlet back then, and our host Cyco was a “Maroon fictionkin” (who later turned out to be a semifictive) and the Clovers’ current fronter at the time was a White fictive, both from the source FNF Vs Imposter. With this, plus both their enjoyments in making stupid sex jokes, PLUS their similar stances in systemhood/plurality, they hit it off very well

We knew about systems for four and a half years at this point, and had been in COMPLETE DENIAL about being a system for two and a half of those years, even after the affirmation that endogenic systems were actual systems and not people faking a disorder. It was thanks to the Clovers we were given a full 100% safe space to actually start figuring our systemhood out

We’re an OSDD-1b traumagenic system, with quite a few endo-formed headmates (though mostly trauma-formed) and no memory barriers. We do however suffer from emotional amnesia, and currently as I type this, we have 3 headspaces (we have an image of this in our strawpage (system page)).

It’s been a year and a half since we finally came to terms with our plurality, but it has made our lives so much better and helpful to live through! And 98% of that is thanks to the Clovers for their love, support, patience and resources that taught us to embrace our plurality no matter how vastly different we felt compared to the “system norms”

The Clovers live in America, we live in Australia. We’ve thought of plans to living together eventually. We intend to visit Each Other’s home locations prior to this, to show each other around. They plan to study and get a job near where we are, and to have week long visits until they finally move in as a citizen

Theyve spent SO LONG and SO MUCH of their time just planning all this shit. So much more than literally ANYONE weve ever met online. It’s what’s motivated us for so long, even through our extreme depression and self deleting ideations. Our home life (and theirs too) has been god fucking awful and itll be a dream on the day we finally get to live together

We plan to get our drivers licence soon to be able to drive them to and from the airport and, when the time comes, to their work and everything

Future talk aside though, we always play games and watch shit together. Gamewise we’re always on Roblox or on Minecraft, watch wise, that varies between Magic the Noah, Auromancy’s The Broken Script playthrough, or movies, either from nostalgic times or new movies we want to see together… or shitty movies to hatewatch!

Honestly, the clovers have taught us SO MUCH about ourselves and also how to handle the shit we deal with on a daily basis. Both our systems have extreme lows but weve always been there for each other, and we ALWAYS will. Im confident the connection between us will never once fade, even in our most mundane moments

I can and will write slice of life. I believe it is and can be kept interesting! That said, I don’t really write conventionally ‘romantic’ characters and situations. Heavy, gritty, dark stuff can and will go down. While I will of course abide by writing partners’ boundaries, I’m not the partner for those who are looking to avoid troublesome themes altogether.

✨ PLOT IDEAS ✨

These are not the only things I’m willing to do! They’re just starting points/vague concepts I think would be fun. By all means, please link me to your ad or give me your ideas. I would love if we could mash them together and make something we’ll both really enjoy.

Old West - MxM romantic or platonic, MxF platonic. One dynamic I’ve been seeking for a while is vaguely inspired by Arthur Morgan & Albert Mason. Basically: one’s a rough ‘n tough type (maybe a cowboy, an outlaw, a wilderness guide, a Native American who knows the land, etc.) and the other’s an outsider to the ‘wild west’ (aristocrat, foreigner, scholar, etc.) I am happy to write either of these characters in an MxM dynamic; in MxF I will write the male in the ‘outdoorsy’ role. The specifics we can discuss, but the gist would be an action/adventure story with some slice of life elements thrown in as the two journey through and try to survive the American West. (1800s-early 1900s.)

Road Trip - MxM romantic or platonic Modern; 1980s-1990s preferred. Just a story that takes place on the road, where ideally these two characters will meet. Why they travel together I’ll leave to us to discover/decide together, but it could be as simple as picking up a hitchhiker and stumbling through a series of misadventures together. Truck stops and diners, stretches of countryside, windows down, weird NPCs along the way; I think it’d also be a lot of fun to incorporate some paranormal/fantastical stuff if that’s your preference. Maybe somebody’s a werewolf, or they break down on a haunted bridge, or they encounter a Hotel California strange loop situation.

Small Town Gothic - MxM romantic or platonic This one would require both of us writing quite a few NPCs to make the world feel populated. Modern, but pre social media and cell phones. Basically: small town America, but something fucky is going on. Maybe it’s paranormal, maybe it’s fantasy; maybe it’s just vaguely surreal and liminal. Think those thin hours of twilight; Waffle House and laundromats, street lights and dew on the windshield. Our characters might be childhood friends or strangers to one another. They may choose to work together or we can contrive a reason they have to. Would love to implement strange radio signals that are trying to tell them something, or warn them. If you think we might jibe, please drop me an ask!

“Aziraphale!” A strident voice rang through the formless white halls of this particular corner of Heaven, attracting the attention of the industrious cherub, who was just putting the finishing touches on a drawing. “Aziraphale!”

“Over here!” he called in reply, leaning back to admire his work. A moment later, an angel with a curly mop of red hair appeared.

“Ah, there you are! D’you— oh,” he paused, taking in the drawing, “How are the people coming along, then?”

“Oh, quite splendidly,” Aziraphale replied, pleased that his friend had taken the time to notice, “I think we’ve just about perfected the design.”

“Lovely. Do you have a moment?” There was an urgency in the redheaded angel’s voice that took Aziraphale aback, and he turned fully to face him, blinking in surprise. 

“Yes, of course.”

“Good. Look, I’ve got this letter here from Luc—” Aziraphale snatched the scroll from the other angel’s hand before he could complete his brandishing gesture and thrust it inside his robes.

“Give me that, before anything happens! Come here.” He seized his friend’s hand and with a blur and a shimmer, they departed the offices of Heaven and rematerialized near the two star-incubating pillars of gas and dust where they often came to talk. The redheaded angel rolled his eyes.

“I really don’t think that was necessary. What do you think is going to happen?”

“You know what they’ve been saying about Lucifer, don’t you?” Aziraphale straightened his robes uncomfortably, “How they think he’s fomenting discord against the Almighty?”

“Fomenting discord? Really, Aziraphale. And who is they, anyway?”

“You know… they,” Aziraphale gestured broadly, “angels. The grapevine, everyone who gossips!” One scarlet brow arched in the cherub’s direction.

“Do you gossip?”

“No!” Aziraphale retorted, a little too quickly, “But I listen.” The redheaded angel scoffed.

“Just look at the letter!” Hesitantly, Aziraphale pulled the now-crumpled scroll from his robes. He unrolled it, and began to scan its contents. His eyes widened as he read, and he shook his head, curls shaking with affrontery. 

“This is.. this is… well, fomenting!” he cried hoarsely, “If anyone finds you with this—” In a moment of impulse, Aziraphale snapped his fingers on the scro and it went up in a puff of flame, the small haze of its ashes drifting off into space. “There,” he turned to his friend, forced smile betrayed by brows knitted in concern, “No trail now.”

“Aziraphale,” the redheaded angel rolled his eyes, but also reached out to grasp the cherub’s shoulder, “it’s not fomenting, it’s just asking questions! We just want to know—”

“We? We? You and Lucifer?”

“Well yeah, Lucifer and the guys and me—” Aziraphale broke away and put a hand to his mouth, chewing on the end of his thumb. “Come on, cherub! All we want to do is ask God some questions, you know, maybe get Her to let us angels be a little more involved in things, help make some policy. It’s all for the people anyway, you should be on our side here.”

“Your side? What do you mean side?” With one mighty push of his wings, Aziraphale returned to his friend’s side, reaching out to clutch his arm with both hands. “There aren’t any sides here, unless it’s Heaven’s side! Aren’t we all working toward the same thing? Starmaker,” he entreated, “please, please don’t get involved with them. I just… I have a bad feeling about all this.” 

The redheaded angel, startled by this sudden outburst, looked into Aziraphale’s wide eyes, their pale blue glittering with the reflected glory of his nebulae, and he softened. Gently he peeled the cherub’s hands from his arm, and took them reassuringly in both of his own.

“It’ll be alright, Aziraphale. God is Love, remember? What could She possibly do but listen?”

OC’s - Yes / No - For me OC’s are hit or miss because I prefer to have a knowledge of the character so I can actually reply by mobile when I’m work. I don’t hate OC’s though! I just might be MUCH slower and more selective with the OC’s I play with. That said though, I don’t like playing with Mary or Gary sue’s. If I end up not replying to something, don’t take it personally, it might be that I just don’t see how they would properly interact. 

I will play with multiple ships / characters. Lines are all separate! - once we’ve established a few threads each relationship will get it’s own name and tag. Feel free to toss suggestions at me for names! AU's: I absolutely love alternate universes! Lets absolutely play with the world and adjust things as we please!

I keep an eye on ‘bearlydruid’ as much as I can in tags! I have noticed though that not everything that gets tagged shows up in my tags. If you think I’ve missed a reply, shoot me a link for it.

The Big Damn End of the Year Update from us- Five Points Games

This has been a busy year and marks the first time we’re writing one of these a little more than a month in advance rather than flow of consciousness at 4am solely on Discord. Not all of this is A Monster’s Tail related so if you’re just here for that: it’ll be posted up front so you don’t have to skim the rest. If you’re interested in what we’re doing outside A Monster’s Tail, and what we’ve been up to while editing and art has been underway…it’s been a lot! We hope you give it a read.

There’s been a lot of highs for us as a company and a lot of lows and difficulty this year personally within the team, and the future’s not looking all that certain on a lot of fronts. You don’t come to us for political hot takes, you come to us for fun games in worlds that aren’t this one. Where everyone is equal, where their expressions of self are protected and valued, and where even if there is danger, it’s resolved through helping one another through the bad times to reach the good. Our commitments as spelled out by our Five Points have not changed. We’ve donated games, and time, to causes that we as a company believe in and that won’t change in the new year either. That isn’t what this post is about but given the state of the world, we felt it was important to say. No one can afford to be apolitical in this climate and while it’s not our primary mission, we hope to not only embody the progressive humanist policies we all hold but to help push those causes in the new year both through backing active donation campaigns and any other way we can as a company. 

Following from the above, we’ve said this publicly on Twitter but we’re now making it official every other place we update. We will be suspending all updates on Twitter and will maintain our Twitter as an archive. Originally the plan only extended to not posting art due to AI skimming rule changes on the platform but there’s an old saying around these parts. When you let one Nazi into a bar, it becomes a Nazi bar. We will not be patrons at a Nazi bar.

It’s been an exhausting month, it is going to be an exhausting year, but here we go. This is the End of Year Wrap Up. 

Content: The Juicy Stuff and What You Came For

A Monster’s Tail First

It’s been, content wise, a wildly productive year for us. Not all of that content is out and available but you’ll see here that we have a ton of stuff ready to go for 2025. 

The kickstarter we ran for A Monster’s Tail got almost 14,000 dollars. We’re cross-posting this on several platforms so if you’re part of those who backed us, thank you so much! It’s our largest kickstarter to date and we’re really proud of what we’ve done, and touched you’ve come along this ride with us. We’ll get this front loaded so if you’re just here for A Monster’s Tail news, you don’t have to scroll to the bottom.

The Beta PDF is out to Backers and we will be working to get the full version out to everyone here in 2025 as well as the physical rewards to those who backed at that tier. We’re aiming for Summer of 2025 for the full release of the PDF and Fall/Winter for the Physical Book. With tariffs and whatnot, we’ll keep you posted on harder dates when we have them.

We have opened a store on DrivethruRPG and with that, we’ve gained access to Print On Demand. It is likely that several of our titles will be available with Print On Demand as early as this time next year, if not earlier for some things like Blasting Off Again. Which is a victory in and of itself. We’ve been hesitant to move into the physical book space because of global shipping prices and now especially with looming tariffs, but now that we’re there we’re hoping to expand.

As we’ve mentioned in other updates, December and January are really busy times for Sam and Kelly IRL, so they’ll be taking those months off to be with family and to relax as best they can in the busy times. Sam’s also recovering from COVID-19 and has been an absolute superstar on the other projects we had slated for the end of the year. Sam willl be working on Backer Trainers in the New Year and helping the Genmon pipeline so that should be moving faster. We will be sending out notices to everyone here soon, if Sam hasn’t already done so by the time this goes out. Kelly is also fairly close to done with Backer Genmon and should be contacting those people soon, if they haven’t already.

On the A Monster’s Tail front writing/non-art wise, Kyle’s been away long enough. Work on the Genmon Mystery Adventure supplement is mostly written and just needs some tweaks. He’s also working on a One Shot rules variant to run at conventions in the New Year, so be on the lookout. We will be sending that to all backers as well when it’s done. 

The final bit for A Monster’s Tail has been an ongoing discussion on how we’re going to get the Sage and Lucre Regions finished. We want to deliver those to backers as well, but we sadly didn’t get them funded during the campaign. It’s always been our mission to find ways to get products out without the need to constantly come to Kickstarter and deal with all that stress. Kickstarter and/or Backerkit will likely be part of our business model as long as they’re viable, but we’ve been working to get another source. Kyle will be launching a company Patreon in the New Year in hopes to create a faster pipeline of content to all of you who like our stuff.

What this will look like is still in the works, we’ve talked about it a long time over this year. What we do know is that every month, Kyle will have some content to share that Patrons will get access to. This may be a swath of new Genmon, a look at a product that’s in the works, a chapter of Region lore and NPCs, or any number of other writings like Playbooks. Money earned will then go to art and final production, where all Patrons will get immediate access to the full content without additional need to pay. We’re eying 5 bucks a month flat to start, with no intent on raising that minimum buy in. 

We’ve talked a lot about keeping A Monster’s Tail supported post-launch, and this is one of the ways we’ve thought of doing  that. The Art

Other Stuff

A Monster’s Tail has been our main push for going on four years now, both in designing, playtesting, and finally getting it published and to print, but we’ve always worked on smaller projects between the bigger stuff. This year has seen both a few of those small projects bear fruit, but also a few larger projects that we’re hoping will turn into bigger things in 2025 and beyond. First, the small things

The Obligatory Fishing Minigame: Sometimes Kyle gets an idea stuck in his head and just has to see it through. This is The Obligatory Fishing Minigame’s origin story, or at least part of it. It’s well known in the Five Points “office’ that Kyle’s got a bugbear with fishing minigames in video games, which is where this satirical game comes from. You can play it solo, with friends, in any game you might want to add a fishing minigame, it’s dependable like that. Sam did an excellent job formatting the document and while it didn’t fit into the two page double spread we were aiming for, that’s not particularly as important in the end. As long as it’s readable and enjoyable, and Sam always knocks it out of the god damned park. 

The Road is the Enemy: Made for National Game Design Month, The Road is the Enemy is a PbtA game in our ongoing pivot to statless narrative driven mechanics for rolls that emphasizes the Play to Find Out element of PbtA. Inspired by campfire tales, epics like Beowulf and the Iliad, The Road is the Enemy is about traveling Pilgrims looking to speak to their gods and petition them for aid, with no real likelihood they’ll ever survive. The stories created through play will change as new Pilgrims take to the Road, emulating oral storytelling and the telephone game. The Road is the Enemy also utilizes a Talking Stick mechanic to switch the GM role during play, allowing anyone to take the “Speaker” seat whenever they wish and allowing the previous Speaker a chance to play as a Pilgrim themselves. 

This wasn’t actually a game Kyle had planned to make. Kyle kicked the idea around for a year and a half and struggled to find language to do it. Talking with Thomas, our development editor, and fellow mod and friend, Otaara, over at the PbtA Discord (which we highly recommend people joining) Kyle finally grew the legs of it. Otaara was also kind enough to copy edit the document for free, so another big thanks to them. Sam then pushed Kyle to enter National Game Design Month, and so he did. There was a  promise to Sam we’d not do any game jams for this year to focus on A Monster’s Tail, but he was gracious enough to encourage Kyle to get involved.

Kyle isn’t entirely sure he’ll get involved next year, but we’ll see where we’re at as a company and where he’s at personally before making any final decisions. It is, after all, a year down the line. 

Kyle personally hopes to see The Road is the Enemy get some legs. He’s very proud of it and if it stands on its own two feet there’s talk about taking it to Zinequest on Backerkit next year to get some money to add more art into it and maybe a print version. We’d personally like to see that, as we think the game is really damn solid and isn’t quite like anything on the market currently. 

Outlaw Hearts: If there’s one game that’s sort of been a success story this year, outside A Monster’s Tail which as far as we’re concerned was a homerun and did much better than we anticipated considering how much we were asking for it, is Outlaw Hearts. 

This is the flagship product in what we are hoping will be the future of our product launches for big projects. The goal has been to put out several playtest PDFS showcasing an idea, and seeing what people are interested in so we can throw our weight behind it. Outlaw Hearts is inspired by our love for an era of manga and anime that seems to have fallen out of favor with the modern state of the subculture. That being the late 90s and early 2000s anime and manga that spearheaded the normalization of manga and anime as a medium in the United States. Things that got popular on Toonami or were bungled by 4Kids dubbing. The biggest inspirations here are One Piece and Outlaw Star, two manga/anime that are dear to Kyle in particular. He never stops talking about One Piece and Oda’s narrative theory.

The playtest document is done but still needs some overview from Thomas and Kyle before it’s ready to be a PDF. Kyle has also spent a good portion working on content outside the scope of the Playtest document. Obviously it all needs actual playtesting, and we plan on doing that in the new year. If you’re interested in taking part in that, we’re looking for people. Sign ups on the Discord as usual. We’re unlikely to make an announcement on Kickstarter but keep an eye out everywhere else you follow us.

As We Cling Together: If there’s anything else that we could call a success story it’s As We Cling Together. It’s been a project on the back burner for a long time, it’s a name we’ve had in the files since The Worst Generation’s Kickstarter wrapped and it’s a concept that’s been in a state of constant revision, reassessment, and deliberation.

Initially conceived as our love letter to fantasy TTRPGs, Kyle’s been hard at work trying to justify why we need to do one in the first place. There’s a ton of fantasy games out there on the market so why another? The reason it’s been so long in the works is because Kyle didn’t want to put out something that was like anything out on the market. If we, he felt, were going to do a fantasy TTRPG it’d have to have its own voice. Kyle thinks he’s found that, and in the limited circles he’s shown it off it’s received a lot of interest both in its mechanics, its setting and lore, and its overall concepts.

As We Cling Together is not a heroic fantasy game, instead it seeks to answer what an Adventurer really is and how they affect the people around them. As We Cling Together is a game of community as much as it is about keeping caravans safe from bandits and dungeon delving. The inspirations are long, but a short list should hopefully convey the feel we’re aiming at. 

The Octopath Traveler series,

As of writing this update, the Playtest document is well on its way to being finished and Kyle has a deadline of the 20th of December to get it into a place where it will be ready for the regular work audits he and Thomas do.

Looking Ahead

That’s a lot, and we appreciate you giving us your time reading it. We really meant it when we said it’s been an active year here. We hope the upcoming projects have piqued your interest, and consider that that’s just what we’ve done in 2025. We have lots of plans for 2025, not the least of which is more Masks: A New Generation content that we sadly didn’t have time to get published this year, and what we hope will be the next big tentpole thing we work on. We’re still holding it a little close to our chest outside our Discord but that’s all the more reason to stop on through and spend some time with us there. We can say though without any doubt that it’s going to be a blast. Kyle says that the research alone, and talking to Thomas and Sam, has been nostalgic and exciting. 

We also plan on running more games on the Discord, and on the PbtA server, so if you’re interested in taking part in any of our games, come on by.

There’ll be more updates, and more games, and other things coming in 2025. 

Thank you for your support, your patience, all the kind words, ratings on our products, reposts, and anything else you’ve done to help get the word out about our company and our games. We talk a lot about how important our community is, and we mean it. Thank you all for believing in our content, and ourselves. 2024 has been a long year and we can feel the weight of it now that it’s almost over more than ever but we are looking to the future and while it’s not as bright as we’d hoped on a lot of metrics, we are fully committed in making it just that bit brighter if we can.

PLEASE give me at least a couple sentences to work with. I will -always- give you at least a paragraph between actions and speech, so give me something to go off as well! I hate sounding pretentious or elitist but it makes me way more invested in the thread if I’ve got lots to respond to from it.

I will not play with random family members of Halsin's without first talking about it. I’m totally open to the idea, but just gimme a heads up and some info first? 

OC’s - Yes / No - For me OC’s are hit or miss because I prefer to have a knowledge of the character so I can actually reply by mobile when I’m work. I don’t hate OC’s though! I just might be MUCH slower and more selective with the OC’s I play with. That said though, I don’t like playing with Mary or Gary sue’s. If I end up not replying to something, don’t take it personally, it might be that I just don’t see how they would properly interact. 

I will play with multiple ships / characters. Lines are all separate! - once we’ve established a few threads each relationship will get it’s own name and tag. Feel free to toss suggestions at me for names! AU's: I absolutely love alternate universes! Lets absolutely play with the world and adjust things as we please!

Another day, another Behind the Scenes regarding The Springlock Paradox

Felt in the mood to do some ramblings, and given how we’ve talked about The Puppets, we went into the History of The Afton Bots, and we went into the logic behind Dave Miller and ya boi Springtrap. I think we should turn our attention from all of that towards the most newest (kinda) character introduced, Henry Fredburn.

But first, we need to address something, and it is going to be a bit “meta” (I think anyways, basically a buzzword that means nothing nowadays). But this post is gonna serve secondary purpose. See I finally got around towards breaking my silence and attempting to reuse the Freddit Discord, more specifically the fanon channel. 

Naturally, this will be shared there once everything is written and explained, but it will also double as a way to share The Springlock Paradox to those people without spamming the channel and basically making it all about me. Which is the reason why I was so hesitant to use it for so long, when you got 50+ chapters under your belt and so much you wanna ramble about, you can easily hog the spotlight. And it would be wrong to casually punt away the others that wanna share their ideas and AUs. So this is a sorta workaround to make a best of both worlds scenario (in theory anyhow)

I will not force you to do so, but do be wary that this stuff is gonna rot your mind from raw confusion if you ain’t ready. With that being said, let’s ACTUALLY now talk about Henry.

So, let’s first talk about “Why bring Henry back?”, and there are two main reasons. First is because it would be interesting story wise, having him come back after both his ending of FFPS and after all that happened in the first Arc/Saga would dynamics and let me play off characters interacting with this face that is both new and old at the same time.

The second reason, is that it is REALLY fun to bully Henry. Because Scott gave him this grand finale at FFPS, and then five seconds later went and said “Nah that didn’t happen anymore.” (I know there is technicalities all over the place cause of The Mimic but honestly the books make my head hurt). Also because he forced his daughter into being a furry and then tried to sell her for $5, to which I constantly made the joke of him being a “Bad Dad”. I make fun of Henry as much as I make Michael the punchbag in TSP. So it was time we brought him into the mix so the bullying can continue. :V

Now for his design. One thing I wanted was for him to have an inverse color scheme of Dave. Where Dave had a purple suit with a yellow head, Henry would have a yellowish suit with his skull having a purple aura to it.

 Likewise, I had to ensure that the audience was aware that all that was left of Henry’s corpse was his charred skull. So of course we had Springtrap find and display Henry’s skull so he could mock it.

I also had to hide the idea of Henry coming back by making it so he wouldn’t wake up from the ample remnant around. 

Course he would come back, but through alternate means, hence showing the dream/flashback to where he first encountered Ekana

The next quest was to ask “how do we write him?” And the answer was pretty obvious; he is a man that just wants to finally do what he tried to end... Only to be completely bamboozled and confused by everything around him given how little he actually knows about what is going on. I mean, think about it; There are two puppets that ended up reproducing, the person he will think is William is instead his son, the person who killed his daughter is a pile of goo that is now on good terms with said daughter, both magic and alternate dimensions exist, not to mention the fucking mushroom people and SOULDOZER being around. He is basically a person knowing nothing about The Springlock Paradox encountering the ramblings I talk about out of context. He is the outside eyes looking in and has no idea what to make of all of this.

But let it be known that while I am mean to the man, I won’t be cruel. He did reunite with his daughter after all this time. And he also ain’t no pushover either, he has shown in the few chapters that he can throw down. And trust me, he is gonna pull his weight in upcoming chapters... At least he will in my eyes to justify future bullying on him. :V

And yeah, that is about it for this Behind the Scene talk, granted a chunk of it was to ramble about that freddit discord stuff, but it was something I wanted to talk about nevertheless. Alot of my focus is gonna be on Artfight this month so don’t be surprised if the next Chapter doesn’t get completed anytime soon. Baking Antics

Pairing: Anthony Beauvillier x Reader

Summary: A rainy day means baking and dancing in the kitchen.

Warnings: Nothing but does hint to sex at the end.

A/N: Beauvillier is one of my favourites. And I'm so glad I got to watch him play just after he was traded. Though the trade was a rough one.

Today was a baking kind of day. A rainy day in Vancouver, how unusual. You decided that whilst Tito had a morning skate that you’d whip up a couple things. Namely, a couple of batches of cupcakes, brownies and your famous M&M and Oreo bake.

Natalie Miller had revealed that their eldest’s school was doing a bake sale when you both were at the home game the other night. Your love for baking was well known amongst the Islanders’ families. But yet to be revealed to your new team. You also loved helping out where you can. You hadn’t been able to bake since you and Tito moved to the city. Now you have the perfect reason.

Especially since you and Tito were new to the team in a sense. Since the trade from New York, both of you tried to fit in where you can. Whilst Tito was the bubbly, happy-go-lucky guy who could fit in with any team. Even if he had been traded to the Rangers instead. You were more reserved, despite your time in the spotlight. You were self-conscious coming into another group of WAGs. Scared of being the outsider once more. 

You got everything set up in your apartment kitchen. All the ingredients out on the bench with all the utensils as well. Instead of being boring you set up your laptop with some karaoke and even an Instagram live. On the app, you were popular due to being known for your time on Broadway and as Tito’s fiance. You started the live and watched people join. 

“Hey everyone,” You smile, seeing some of the comments flooding in. Every now and then you’d see someone comment a role you had done. “I’m about to start baking cupcakes and some different slices. I thought why not have you guys join. So it wouldn’t be as lonely. Maybe mess around and sing some songs while we’re at it.”

Shuffling your broadway playlist, the first song to come up was Defying Gravity. You quickly skip the song and apologize to the viewers. Promising to sing it later once your voice has warmed up. The next one to come on was Beautiful from Heathers. It was one role you had loved from when you were young, Veronica Sawyer. 

“I’ve decided on making a batch of vanilla and chocolate cupcakes first.”

You started to follow the recipes in front of you. Pausing every so often to read comments and interact with the viewers. While you waited for the cupcakes to cool down, you started on your brownies. Which were a hit, especially with Mat. You lost count at how many batches you made specifically for him. 

“Do I miss New York?” You read out, the comment catching your eye. You smiled sadly at the thought of your home for the duration of yours and Tito’s relationship. “Of course I do. Tito and I were talking last night about how we miss our little group. We even facetimed Mat. The boys miss each other. I miss the girls a lot. But we’ve settled in here. Made friends. You guys know Tito could make friends with anyone. Even a bear if it came down to it.”

The comments flowed. A lot of the fans were picking up on how you guys missed Mat. Majority of the comments were also involving quotes from Mat’s interviews recently. Of course you had seen it. Both you and your boyfriend had cried over it. Mat was your best friend after meeting through Tito. He always stated he was your permanent third wheel. Sadly, the trade chucked a wrench in that tricycle.

“Did you guys have any requests for me to sing?” You ask, trying to redirect everyone from the talk of your old home. After a moment, you pulled up your Spotify and started playing Satisfied from Hamilton. “You guys want me to suffer. I haven’t sung this for a while and the rapping will not be clean. That’s for sure.”

The music started as you started to mix the brownie ingredients. “A toast to the groom… To the Bride.”

You danced around the kitchen, enjoying yourself for what seemed like the first time in months. Since the trade, you felt stressed and out of place. Tito had done everything he could but there was only so much. The song transitioned from Hamilton to Moulin Rouge. Specifically Welcome to the Moulin Rouge. Nini was your last role before you moved to Vancouver. One that you fell in love with while performing it. It was in your top 3 roles you’ve got to play.

“I’ll probably start dancing at some point with this song,” You chuckled, already wanting to do the choreography that was still fresh in your mind.

Seamlessly, you continued with your baking. Pulling out your brownies. Making the icing for the cupcakes. Mixing the batter for the M&M and Oreo bake. In between you dance along to the music. Without you noticing, Tito had gotten home and snuck up behind you after you placed the finished products on the bench. He wrapped his hands around our waist. You jumped but the familiar smell of his cologne calmed you.

“Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?” He whispers in your ear, in time with the music.

“Voulez-vous coucher avec moi?” You respond, smirking at him.

Tito leans down, pressing a soft kiss to your lips. “Oi, mon amour.”

“I’m doing an Instagram live,” You reveal, nodding to your phone. “Say hi to your fans.”

Without missing a beat, Tito grins and waves to the camera. “I hope you don’t mind, but I’m stealing the star of your show. I’ve missed her after training and I want to cuddle.”

The pair of your big goodbye quickly to the viewers and ended the stream. You made sure everything was turned off. Double checking and triple checking the oven being off. After that, both you and Anthony retreated to your bedroom for some…. Pregame rituals… and his nap after.

Rey Gives No F*cks About the Grandfather Paradox

Okay so since nobody’s suggested a fic under these terms, I ended up expanding on this post on discord and things snowballed. We kept to the basics of the entire plot revolving around Rey really hating her grandad and leveraging her blood relation to not be unalived about it.

The basic thing I absolutely need is this: Rey gets thrown back to the middle of the clone wars, and the subsequent plot leans in really heavily on her being, genetically-via-clone-dad, the daughter of the guy running the entire galaxy.

Nobody knows what to do with her.

The timing is mid-TCW for the past (because I want Ahsoka there) and vaguely between Episodes 8 and 9 because I... never watched E9 and don’t want to worry about the timeline. The only things that matter is that Luke is dead (he can die as he did in canon) and that Rey knows she’s Palp’s granddaughter (not the way she does in canon).

We'll say Luke found out from Anakin's panicked force-ghost and just went "well, fuck, okay, I should tell her this before she ends up in a situation like mine and finds out mid-battle or something."

Luke, prior to time-travel: Okay, so, now that I'm dead I know some things I didn't before. Like who your parents were. In the interest of full disclosure because I was in a very similar situation and I don't want you learning the way I did, I'm just going to come right out and say that your father was a clone was Sheev Palpatine. Rey: ... Luke: Are you okay? Rey: I don't know who that is.

(She grew up on Jakku, the history education was a little subpar.)

Setting The Scene

Imagine Rey showing up during or immediately before the clone wars. There’s this phenomenally powerful feral teenager from a desert backwater who tells you that if you ran a paternity test, it would probably pop up the Chancellor. She may or may not bring up cloning. She accuses said Chancellor of being a Sith Lord.

Your other phenomenally powerful feral teenager from a desert backwater, who may not be a teenager anymore but only barely, is very offended by this because Palpatine’s a Very Nice Old Grandfather Figure, but also he’s a little full of side-eye because if the blood test comes back as proof, then Palpatine had a kid and didn’t even know about them, or lied to Anakin, and that’s! Bad! Family’s important!!!

Palpatine hears about this daughter he apparently? Has? And is very confused because the timing doesn’t match up with ANYTHING he was doing, so the kid isn’t natural, and he says as much. (There is an explanation! It’s not a correct explanation, but he does come up with one.)

Finn and Poe and BB-8 all get dragged along because why not have the gang there? Nobody that’s already born, because [handwave] conservation of souls or something, IDK, point is the only person dragged along that’s even remotely close to already existing is Luke’s Force Ghost, who mostly hangs around begging Rey to be less impulsive. Finn is good because he is a nice polite boy, but for actual useful information they need Poe. The unfortunate situation is that the three do not land together. They land at the same time, in completely different corners of the galaxy. This means that nobody is there to curb Rey being her most impulsive self.

Time travel Rey knows two things. Luke’s dad ends up evil. Palpatine has always been evil.

She can solve one of these problems by killing the other, yes?

Rey: Ready to Rumble

See, the initial idea was this: Rey tried to break into the senate to kill Palpatine, got arrested, and then used the "he's biologically my father" card to get out of jail free. (Force Ghost Luke follows her like “please take five seconds to think this through.”)

But.

But.

It would be very, very, very funny if The Force just dumps her in a flash of light in the senate building and she just attacks Gramps on sight. Just a shouted "YOU!" and no-hesitation attempted murder.

Palpatine has no idea what's going on.

Rey took maybe two seconds to get identity confirmation and then started swinging.

Of course, she gets arrested. There are Master Jedi in the Senate. There are Clone Troopers. Palpatine isn’t the weak old man he pretends to be. Of course she’s stopped.

But she isn’t executed in time for Palpatine to stop her from ruining his entire reputation.

Immediately after Rey fails to kill her Shitty Granddad, Luke's ghost shows up and begs her to not talk about the Sith thing because it will completely undermine everything she's trying to do. Pass off the attempted murder as something else!

Rey, panicking: "that fucker left me on a desert planet for 10 years!" "You owe me 19 years of child support you son of a Hutt!"

The Jedi have to do the investigation, because the girl showed up with a laser sword, and the conversation is, uh... interesting. (“Where did you get that lightsaber?” “I got it from a mysterious old pirate lady I never met before. I don't know, I was being shown around by a smuggler and a Wookie.”)

Interviewer: Why did you try to assassinate the Chancellor? Luke: Say it wasn't assassination. Rey: It wasn't assassination. Int: You weren't trying to kill him? Luke: Assassination has to be politically motivated. Rey: This was, um... not political. Assassination is political, right? Int: You mean this was personally motivated? Rey: Yes. Int: I see. What personal motivation? Luke: Jakku! Rey: He's my grandfather. Int: ... Rey: Possibly father. Nobody was very clear on that. Int: ... Luke: Tell them to run a paternity test. Rey: Oh hey, a blood test would tell us which, right? Int: ............ Rey: I spent ten years as an orphaned scrapdealer on Jakku. He's my father. I'm kind of a little angry. Int: ........... Luke: Good job, kid. You bought yourself some time. Int: I'm going to get a medic to see about that parternity test.

Obviously, it comes back positive. Congratulations, Sheev, you’re the father.

Rey comes with a ready-made built-in excuse for hating Palpatine that nobody can question or fault her for!

Rey, pouring Truth into the Force: I didn't even know I was related to the Chancellor until a few months ago, but it's his fault I grew up the way I did, and he should take some responsibility!

The entire thing is mostly kept hush hush but someone leaks it to the press and Palpatine's ratings tank.

"Chancellor, I think we'll need to waive family visitation until she wants you a little less dead." "I would like to find out why she wants me dead, and indeed, where she came from." "...sir, for your own safety--"

Who would win? A master plan years in the making spanning decades of manipulating and work? or One (1) paternity test

"Okay, so, Rey Palpat--" "Ew, no, I don't want his name." "You--okay. Sure, we can understand that. Is there a name you would prefer to put on the paperwork?" Rey, who would have gone by Skywalker in honor of Luke but can't do that when Anakin is right there and all: "Can I think about it?"

Rey: I don't know what I want my last name to be but I know I don't want his, and most of the people I’d want a name from have famous families like you... Luke's ghost, pointing out the Literal Nobody that she cares about a lot: How about Solo? Rey: ...Solo, then.

(A few months later she runs into Poe again and he offers for Finn and Rey to both take his name because honestly they need SOMETHING but at that point she’s already decided on Smuggler Dad.)

Backtrack a bit. We’ve got a bigger cast.

They all arrive separately. Poe, for one, does better than Rey, who is aiming for a murder, but not quite as well as Finn, who is currently being adopted and hidden like a secret cat by a bunch of Alpha Clones on Kamino. He vibes with the names-or-numbers thing. He doesn’t necessarily tell them where and when he’s from, but he’s very sweet and a great liar and they adopt him wholesale anyway.

The Finn situation is just... "Buir Ti, we need you to hide this man, we've decided he's our little brother but if Nala Se finds out she'll make him leave."

Of course, this leads into Shaak Ti teaching Finn how to Jedi.

Maybe consider Finn needing to almost be tricked into learning Jedi things because he willfully forgets it could apply to him. Finn does not like to think of himself as special, which is super valid, but frustrating for Shaak Ti when it comes to, you know, getting him to acquire knowledge. Finn's training at some point is "here, levitate objects with the Force to entertain the tubies." It’s a lot easier to convince him to practice when it involves the babies.

(Everyone on Kamino looked at Finn and went “oh I love him I’m keeping him and teaching him things.”)

(He’s just very lovable.)

Poe, meanwhile, buys the trust of Anakin Skywalker via R2D2 declaring BB-8 the absolute most baby of droids. R2D2 met BB-8 three hours ago but.

"Hey Obi-Wan this is Poe I met him like five days ago but R2D2 says he checks out because his droid is a baby." "That's nice, Anakin, did you know the Chancellor has a daughter who tried to assassinate him in broad daylight yesterday? Because guess who had to stop the Chancellor from getting assassinated by his daughter in broad daylight yesterday."

A summary so far:

Finn, on Kamino: Hey, um, I don't know where this is, but it's not where I was a few minutes ago. Do you think you could get me a comm? What's your name? Poe, on [dice roll] Denon: Oh, hey, you're General Skywalker? Nice to meet you, I'm so sorry about my droid, she's a little excitable and thought your R2 unit looked like a friend of hers-- Rey, on Coruscant: DIE, GRANDFATHER

Finn: [Peacefully vibing on Kamino, unaware of the chaos and bonding with the clones] Poe: [Trying to explain how he knows someone who tried to kill the chancellor and defend Rey] Rey: [Arrested for trying to kill the chancellor]

Just... just...

Anakin: Some guy ended up lost on base yesterday with his droid, how’s your day going? Obi-Wan: I had to stop someone who claims to be the chancellors daughter from murdering the chancellor after she seemingly blinked into existence in the Senate building. Poe: 😐

(Poe: Oh, so that's where Chaos^2 went.)

Poe: In her defense, she is his... well we don't know if she's his daughter or granddaughter, but she's definitely related to him, and she definitely grew up in a shitty situation that was his fault, so...

(Poe is trying very hard to explain this and not get arrested on the military base.)

As you’ve probably guessed, what's especially funny about all of this for me is the fact that Palpatine is fully aware that this girl shouldn't exist, but can't find a single piece of evidence about where she came from. He didn't start any experiments that could result in a female child, and he didn't have sex in that period of time, so where the hell--

Rey spends so much time in jail... BUT they do eventually assign her a Jedi Master. Possibly before she actually proves her evil grandfather is in fact evil. Most votes went to either Plo Koon or Obi-Wan. Plo, because he’s dad-shaped, and Obi...

"Obi-Wan, you already raised one feral desert child with implausible amounts of power, you handle this." Rey in return is very "Sweet, you vaguely remind me of Master Luke," and nobody knows who the hell she's talking about. Obi-Wan is NOT on board with this plan, she'd really be better off with Plo or like........ Mace.

Reunion Tour

What I need out of this is the eventual Finn and Rey reunion scene that is just excited screaming while someone in the background explains to Shaak Ti that yes this is apparently Palpatine's terrifyingly force-sensitive daughter who hates him.

(Finn senses Rey’s approach and just. Gathers the everyone to wait. He’s just :D REY MY FRIEND REY GUYS MY FRIEND REY IS COMING.)

Anakin shows up with Poe--just a guy who signed on to the military, no big deal--and then Poe and Rey are EXCITED and everyone's just like "Cool, how do you know this literal terrorist child?" And Poe has to scramble and "Uhhhhhhhhhhhh she saved my droid from a scrapheap once and BB-8 is basically my child so I owe her one."

Rey knows that Anakin ends up evil so she’s maybe not actively hostile but definitely very “I’m watching you.” That said, she vibes with him on a lot of things that he maybe doesn’t actively notice.

Rey picks up a snake, snaps off the head for venom avoidance, and starts biting off chunks. Obi-Wan's reaction: [undisguised horror] Anakin and Ahsoka: Ooh, where'd you find that? (Obi-Wan: And now I’m up to three feral children.)

What Does Palpatine Even Do?

OBVIOUSLY at a certain point, Palpatine is just phoning up every ally he has to figure out who broke protocol to synthesize a daughter for him.

So of course, Palpatine blame Plagueis.

She'd have been born five or so years before Naboo, just a few years younger than Anakin. It's such an EASY theory to build a conspiracy around. It is ENTIRELY WRONG, but it’s plausible! And anyone who might have been involved to say otherwise is probably dead!

A random bio-kid shows up you can’t possibly have contributed genes to? Maybe it’s the evil bio spark that did it.

Palpatine tries to placate her with the ‘my genes were stolen for an experiment and I didn’t know’ thing. It doesn’t work because her actual main complaint is he’s evil in her future but he tries.

It'd be a struggle to even get access to her, because of the aforementioned “maybe don’t try to talk to the daughter(?) that hates you” thing, but you know who Palpatine does have access to? The Chosen One.

Rey kind of decides on her favorites early on (she gravitates to Dad Energy and Sad Old Men so Plo and Obi-Wan are on her list, and that means decent time around Anakin and Ahsoka). It's really easy to talk Anakin into helping to some degree because "he'd like to connect to a daughter he never knew" and "a child of her power on a planet like that, you'd know her struggle, my dear boy" and so on. Anakin tries to connect! He tries to play up Sheev’s kind political work and how it can’t have really been his fault! It doesn’t work. Rey does not believe a word of it. Mostly she doesn’t even seem to hear him.

Rey's just like "...oh right, you're the melted mask that Kylo Ren was always ranting about," which means absolutely NOTHING to Anakin, but he mentions it to Palps, who loses his goddamn mind trying to figure out what she's talking about, because it also means absolutely nothing to him.

Here’s the thing: Rey’s already decided that Obi-Wan is cool, because Luke said so, and Plo Koon is dad-shaped, and she also gravitates towards earnest kindness in general, like she made friends with Finn real quick, so Ahsoka? Already getting along great.

She doesn’t dislike Anakin, really, he isn’t evil yet, he’s just... meh. She’s a little suspicious and she likes him less than the others but... Anakin.

Rey, to Anakin: You are my least favorite. Anakin, to Palpatine: YOUR DAUGHTER HATES ME???

And he goes from “she’s a lil standoffish” to “she doesn’t like me” to “she hates me” as is normal for Anakin.

It’s just an escalation of this one time Palpatine wants Anakin to not have rifts and trust issues with a person, at least not until later, because he needs information.

Meanwhile, that very moment, Rey is just like "huh, nobody here is listening to me about how make a sixth-hand carburetor work, where's Luke's dad?"

Anakin is venting to Palpatine about how hard it is to talk to Rey, and she's over in the Temple just like "Hey, that guy was useful last time, I should ask him," but also she only ever thinks of him as Luke's Dad.

(At one point, Obi-Wan is having a bit of a break down, and then Anakin starts having a breakdown about that, meanwhile the clones are (badly) trying to hide Finn behind their backs, Rey is watching Ahsoka practice and being like "I want two lightsabers," and Poe is trying to keep R2 from stealing BB-8 and Force Ghost Luke is just face palming in the background.)

(Rey deserved a saber staff, maybe one that can detach and turn into a jar’kai set. Possibly a pike. Mostly I just wish she got more chances to whack things with a big stick.)
