Essentially, the idea of what you do on the carnivore diet is no carbs — zero carbs, just meat and animal products like beef, chicken, pork, fish and eggs. The concept is that if you starve your body of carbs for energy, it has no other choice but to burn the fat, so in turn, you will lose weight. The diet also boasts other potential health benefits such as fighting inflammation, lowering the blood sugar in people with diabetes, and enhancing mental health.
The carnivore diet, on the other hand, is more similar to a ketogenic/keto or Atkins diet. They Delete The Carb- The major difference as you may have realized, all the rest lie in that keto nd atkins diets are just limiting of carbs. The most extreme version of this is the other end of the scale, at which some believe that humans should only eat meat — as long as it’s no carbs and none of any other food group, such as fruit, vegetable, grain, nut or seed, or legume.
A “carb-free” diet is nothing new. The late 1700s, saw the earliest use of a meat-only diet to treat patients with diabetes and was noted by the Scottish military surgeon John Rollo, MD. VII) His patients actually reduced there blood sugar even more on a low carb diet!
The Carnivore Diet was popularized by former orthopedic surgeon Shawn Baker, MD., in his 2019 book The Carnivore Diet. (Baker had already been stripped of his medical license in 2017 for incompetence. It was slapped on him again in 2019 with the caveat that he needed to be monitored.)
