He stands from where he was folded cross-legged on Amy's old bed and approaches Simon, hands outstretched to rest on his shoulders. Although he cannot feel it with any real clarity, Kieren gets the sense that Simon's thick, knitted jumper would be warm and soft to the touch.

"You look..." Good dies on his tongue, years of repression and fear rearing their ugly hydra-heads. Things are different now, he reminds himself. He's trying to be more himself, and Simon deserves the truth. "You look good," he says, with a tentative little smile. "Normal, 'n' all. Different normal, maybe. New normal, let's go with that."

To start things off we meet Kara on Earth! I talked more about her here. Shes's dressed similarly to Android 18 when she, 17, and 16 drive to Goku's house in episode 147 of Dragon Ball Z. While watching the episode I was wondering why does Kara's hair look so familiar? Then it hit me. Kara's got Sakuya Kumashiro's hair from Tenchi in Tokyo!

Shout out to recent DC characters enjoy ice cream for the first time like Wonder Woman in the live action movie and Justice League animated movie, and the new DC Super Hero Girls cartoon. As a mint chocolate chip ice cream fan, good first choice of ice cream to enjoy!

Perry puts Clark and Lois on a new beat for the Metropolis "Most Eligible Single" contest because Superman was chosen to be one of the five up for that title. Cat Grant self-invites herself to join the duo to figure out who Superman is through his love life. Lois is sweating bullets at this point. At the contest we meet the potential people for winning the title, Hank Henshaw, Chandi Gupta, Byrna Brilyant, and Silver St. Cloud. I talked more about Hank Henshaw here. We see a darker more bigoted side to him this time around. Will we see him get his cyborg body and become Cyborg Superman in this season or season 3? Who knows. Season 3 is confirmed though.

Dr. Byrna Brilyant is a very deep DC universe cut dating back to 1946, the golden age of comics. Back then Byrna Brilyant was an enemy to Wonder Woman going by the moniker, Blue Snowman.

Byrna in the 1940s makes her first appearance in Sensation Comics #59 (1946) [W: Joye Hummel, P&I: H.G. Peter], where she was a teacher who's father created this compound called blue ice, after his death, she uses it as a way to extort this town after freezing it over for monetary gain.

Byrna makes another appearance in 2010 in Power Girl #7 (2010) [W Justin Gray & Jimmy Palmiotti, P&I: Amanda Conner, C: Paul Mounts, L: John J. Hill] where Dr. Mid-Nite and Power Girl are trying to stop Byrna from committing a robbery but the main bad guy, Vartox shoots a seduction musk rifle at Power Girl but the smell knocks out Dr. Mid-Nite and it works on Byrna, but not Power Girl. This all makes more sense if you read the comic.

Byrna's next appearance post-New 52 was in Superman/Wonder Woman #4 (2014) [W: Charles Soule, P: Paulo Siqueira, I&C: Hi-Fi, L: Carlos M. Mangual] where we see Wonder Woman and Hessia battling the Blue Snowman robots.

Byrna's latest appearance post-DC Rebirth is in DC: Love is a Battlefield #1 (2021) [W: Crystal Fraiser, P&I: Juan Gedeon, C:Ulises Arreola, L: Marshal Dillion, where Byrna is now gender fluid after interrupting a date between Wonder Woman and Steve Trevor. Good on Wonder Woman for letting them go and hoping the realization there is a word for what Byrna was feeling would make them feel much better. So going forward if we meet Byrna again, I'll be referring to them with they/them pronouns, but if its New 52 continuity and before, Byrna will be referred to with she/her pronouns with the continuities to help clarify the pronoun usages.

Chadi Gupta is also another deep cut from the DC universe because she's reference to her comic counterpart from Justice League Europe.

Chandi makes her first appearance in Justice League Europe #47 (1993) [W: Gerard Joes, P: Ron Randall, I: Randy Elliot, C: Gene D'Angelo, L: Willie Schubert] where she's escaping her family and comes across the the JLE and wants to join them. Her energy projection and construct creation powers came in handy for the JLE in issue 50 where she and the rest of the JLE were able to fend off Sonar's attack and that earned her a spot on Justice League Europe as the superhero Maya.

Silver St. Cloud is probably one of the more prominent characters from the DC universe who showed up in MAwS. She got into the pop culture zeitgeist through the Gotham tv show when it aired.

Silver St. Cloud makes her first appearance in Detective Comics #470 (1977) [W: Steven Engleheart, P: Walter Simonson, I: Al Milgrom, C: Jerry Serpe, L: Ben Oda] where she meets Bruce Wayne at a party on his yacht. She eventually becomes one of Bruce Wayne's more prominent love interests and one of the few who were suspecting Bruce to be Batman thanks to his constant disappearing.

She shows up in post-new 52 in the maybe possibly out of cotinuity anthology, Legends of the Dark Knight (2014) digital comics, specifically as a cameo in issue #50, Dr. Quinn's Diagnosis [W: Jim Zub, P&I: Niel Googe, C: Kathryn Layno, L: Saida Temofonte], where Batman is getting psychoanalyzed by Harley Quinn.

If you want to read a comic with a fun appearance of Silver St. Cloud give Batman/Elmer Fudd Special #1 (2017) [W: Tom King, P&I: Lee Weeks, C: Lovern Kindzierski, L: Deron Bennet] a read cuz goddamn is it noir AF and beautifully drawn (a while back DC superheroes crossed over with Looney Tunes characters and its very good. They have also done it with Hanna Barbera characters as well. Give those a read too! They're all fun!)!

The charity that MAwS Silver mentions was first mentioned in Superman #152 (1967) [W: Bill Finger, P&I: Al Plastino] where Superman is accepting a clock medallion for a charity event. In the comics Silver St. Cloud isn't usually working for charities, shes mostly a Gotham socialite.

At the event, the MC (who gives off Funky Flashman vibes imo), asked if anyone has questions and the first to jump on that was George Taylor of the Metropolis Star. I talked about the Metropolis Star here, but for George Taylor...

he actually makes his first appearance here in Action Comics #1 (1938) [W: Jerry Seigel, P&I: Joe Shuster, C: Strauss Engraving Company] where he is the editor-in-chief of the Daily Star.

In the silver age, George Taylor makes his first appearance in Superman #366 (1981) [W: Bob Eozakis, P: Kurt Schaffenberger, I: Frank Chiaramonte, C: Adrienne Roy, L: John Costanza] where he assigns Perry White on the Superboy scoop to see if he's active in Metropolis. In post-Crisis on Infinite continuity, George makes a cameo appearance in Adventures of Superman #451 (1989) [W,P,&I: Jerry Ordway, C: Glenn Whitmoore, L: Albert DeGuzman] where we see George's office door.

In the New 52 continuity, George Taylor makes his first appearance in Action Comics #8 (2012) [W: Grant Morrison, P: Rags Morales, I: Rick Bryant, C: Brad Anderson, L: Pat Brosseau] as editor-in-chief for the Daily Star where in the comic he's proud of Clark and encourages him to take the job at the Daily Planet.

Kara and Jimmy make it into the studio where Lois, Superman, and Cat Grant are and Kara confronts Superman showing off that she's the one in the armor. She is on a two-way radio communications with someone named Primus. Whether that is Brainiac's designation when Kara is on the field or its a different character all together, there is a Primus in the DC universe, not just in the Transformers universe. Btw this isn't Kara's first time siding with an evil faction, she was part of Darkseid's Female Furies in the 2004 Superman/Batman series, specifically in issue #11. You might have also seen it happen in the Superman/Batman: Apocalypse animated movie too.

Primus aka Pren makes his first appearance in Green Lantern #141 (1981) [W: Marv Wolfman, P&I: Joe Stanton, C: Carl Gafford, L: John Costanza] where he is the leader of the alien group, the Omega Men from the Vega star system. They jump Hal when he and Carol Ferris were on vacation thinking Hal is part of the Citadel, an extraterrestrial empire that is conquering the star system the Omega Men are in.

Primus/Pren NuParr makes his New 52 first appearance in Deathstroke #9 (2012), but gets a more prominent role in the Omega Man limited series from 2015 [panel from The Omega Men #1 (2015) W: Tom King, P&I: Barnaby Bagenda, C: Romulo Farjardo Jr., L: Pat Brosseau]. In this continuity, the Citadel is now a corporation that was exploiting Krypton's destruction by by selling stabilized planet cores to other worlds. This comes at a cost where the Vega star system is enslaved by them and those who resisted we killed and the survivors formed the Omega Men.

Is it just me or did GD probably say something he shouldn’t have to T.O.P, and that’s why T.O.P cut him off?

They’ve said it so many times T.O.P is super sensitive, and words really stay with him. And GD… he’s the type to get emotional fast and say something without meaning it, but it can still hurt.

What’s crazy is that in 2022, everything seemed fine, we were all waiting for the next GD&TOP comeback, and then suddenly T.O.P said he’s leaving the group and even blocked GD. It just feels like something must’ve happened between them.

a) During that one iconic af Radio Star show, GD himself (HIMSELF) said that Tabi can be a softie sometimes and has also said on separate occasions that he’s careful with the words he uses while speaking to him. I highly doubt GD would take steps back from that if he consciously chose to be careful in the past.

And in his lyrics of Untitled 2014, which in my opinion is about self reflection through the lens of a breakup, he admits to himself that he says harsh things and chases people away. Imho, since he’s reflected on this part of his personality, he’s clearly improved (I genuinely don’t understand how people can’t SEE how much Ji has changed over the years).

Both GD&TOP have spoken in the past about "saying things they don't mean" to their significant others (yes, they BOTH admitted to being 'harsh') and for them to still be together and date for at LEAST a decade, they must've worked on these painful pieces of their relationship and personalities.

b) Tabi was the one that coldly left BB, with an unceremonious announcement in his Instagram comments and shady Instagram stories. Maybe he was hurt and that’s why he did this, but publicly Ji was the only one that was hurt by these actions. Yet Ji defends him from the public (by saying that they're all now shining in their own places) which is very empathetic of him, since TOP's actions did drag both their names through the mud. (And if kVIPs are to be trusted, he also made an Insta story about removing the GD&TOP album in particular).

c) Taeyang says in this clip that TABI is on another planet now. Tabi. And I understand that YB is more loyal to GD than TOP BUT YB is technically someone who cares for BOTH of them. And here, he’s firmly taking GD’s side. (Also don't you f-cking adore the fact that everyone in this fandom treats everything as a joke? So both GD&TOP saying they are interested in men and not into women gets swept under the rug? DX). Maybe this is alluding to the moon project being a cause of issues between GTOP? I'm not going to delve deeper into that because it is a head canon based on a few things rather than something with a clear pattern but hmm.

d) GDYB are incredibly loyal people and stuck with Se7en through his scandal, so I highly doubt they were the ones that slammed Tabi for his decisions. Also, the lyrics "You're welcome back home wherever/forever you are" are 100% an indication of how Ji feels and I'm pretty sure those lyrics are for Tabi (because of his Insta story + changing the lyrics to "forever you are" in Paris + the way he sings his parts in that section of the song). Not sure if that's the attitude you'd have if you were to blame for your break up. Just GD's entire attitude isn't indicative of someone to blame for a break up, Tabi's is..

e) Tabi is someone who is/was emotional unstable and despite art giving him an outlet, he clearly still had a lot of processing and pain within him (especially since we don't know what the full extent of the damage caused by the scandal was, and from what we've seen it genuinely did effect him. I agree with people saying the scandal wasn't EVERYTHING and the only reason GTOP cut contact with each other, of COURSE it wasn't, something else must've happened between them, but such pain tends to stick).

Adding this with the fact that Tabi feels ashamed of his actions, and Tabi himself is taking blame for their break up in his interviews, I don't know anon, I don't think Ji is completely to blame, like you suggested.

I know that in every break up there are TWO people and both sides are guilty, but such cuts aren't always equal. And I personally value Jiyong's strength and clear development in maturity throughout the years and see it as a great indication of him attempting to be a better partner for Tabi and overall a better person.

@spn20fest - week 1: introductions

the first time i saw an episode of supernatural was all the way back in 2005, when i was 5 yrs old. my mom would go to bingo every tuesday night and my older brother and i would stay up late watching tv. typically he had control of the remote, but for some reason i can't recall he wasn't there the night 1.03 "dead in the water" aired, and i ended up watching it. i don't remember much, but i have two very clear memories of these stills:

seeing dean in that leather jacket at such a young age did in fact permanently alter the course of my life. i could've been normal!!

it wasn't until 2012 that i really truly started watching the show. when i was in 6th grade i had a very severe case of mono and was out of school for basically the entire spring semester. one day while i was channel surfing, i came across supernatural on tnt, and that was it.

i was bound to fall in love with supernatural in one way or another - i'm a medium and a low level psychic, so i've has no choice but to believe in the paranormal. i like weapons and cars and classic rock. and perhaps most significantly, i love anything that explores america through a gothic lens. to me, america is a land of horror. there's swaths of land hundreds of miles long that are just empty. there's thousands of buildings that are abandoned and now falling to pieces in the absence of life to keep them upheld. there's too much space, too much blood shed, too much disregarded and forgotten, and too many shadowy corners for evil to lurk.

so supernatural felt tailored made to my interests, and stuck in my house in the middle of nowhere as i was, sam and dean became my best friends. i'd spend every morning - from 9 a.m. to noon - traveling through the darkest crevices of america with the winchesters. when i was finally able to return to school, i dvr-ed the episodes and would catch up once i was home. i filled up the dvr space with the entirety of the first 5 seasons, and would watch them on a loop. season 6 was not syndicated yet, so i didn't catch it until a couple of years later when i got the dvd on sale at fye, along with season 7. i feel like i'm really dating myself here, so i'm just going to move on.

i strayed away from keeping up with supernatural around 2014, but i've never stopped watching. it also became my dad's favorite show, so between the two of us, it's always been on a screen somewhere in the house. i finally caught up with seasons 9-15 in 2023. i've been Going Through It since 2021, and in the summer of 2023 i crawled back home to my parents. unable to do much of anything else, i committed to watching the series through till the end. losing myself in sam and dean's new-to-me adventures was exactly what i needed at the time.

i've stayed away from the fandom for a very, very long time, mostly because i was never a dean/c*s shipper and felt weird for being a wincest enjoyer. but with the 20th anniversary this year the obsession has come back in full force and i've found myself wanting to fangirl about the show all the time!! (just as a side note, i've written about supernatural both critically and academically over the years, but i probably won't do much of that here as i want this to be a place where i'm able to enjoy it more informally (and strangely).) plus i no longer gaf about whether or not people think i'm gross for being into these freak brothers; so here i am, reblogging samdean content to my heart's content.

i think there will be opportunities in later weeks for me to write more about my relationships with and thoughts on the characters, so i'm not going to say anything in regards that now to leave myself things to talk about then.

it's so hard to make friends on here, especially because i'm riddled with anxiety and have trouble interacting. but i'm here to scream about samndean and will happily do so if someone reaches out to me first, so always feel welcome to say hi in dms or through my ask box if you want - just please, no minors because i am Old and want to be able to freely post 18+ content.

Anyways, hello everyone, I am too lazy to find my old crack DID pride flag (it'll come up some day and I'll link it here), and I figured I should slowly update some of my intro stuff for this blog after not touching it for a fucking minute.

You can call me Feathers - we're a 21+ year old Buddhist mixed-AAPI intersex nonbinary system (they/them) that is fully fused. There's a lot of oddities going on with our system so here is a bit of an explanation of our system situation here. "So what's up with the Feathers anyways?"

OUT OF DATE (5/15/2014); Keeping for it being an interesting post. For the most recent discussion on Buddhism, Full Integration, Final Fusion, and Functional Multiplicity written by our fully fused self before our recent decision to swap back to Functional Mulitiplicity, feel free to read here; it's long but a pretty cohesive understanding of our current experiences with our DID and shit. We're diagnosed with DID, C-PTSD, autism, trichotillomania, OCD, and honestly a number of things cause complex-trauma life. We have some physical disabilities but nothing that typically causes too much obstruction in our day to day.

As a result of our state of recovery, we really don't have a set headcount, however we were / are polyfragmented.

Some fun things about us and things you'll see on this blog:

Due to the fact that DID is no longer really that much of an interesting topic / impactful part of our life, we only occasionally post about DID and our experiences with it. While it was the original purpose of this blog, as a depiction of our healing journey and what healing with DID can look like, we decided we would rather just post about whatever sparks joy in our life. As a result, rather than much content on DID, you will likely see things relating to the topics below. PLEASE feel free to send asks about ANY of the topics below. We love to talk about things.

We are Buddhist (primarily non-theistic; mostly non-denominational, largely Zen) and we really enjoy it. We particularly like the philosophy and do practice it. Admittedly, we identify as being god awful Buddhists, but thats okay cause its part of the process.

We love research and plan to go into it when our ducks are better aligned. We particularly love research and literature around developmental psychopathology, trauma, dissociation, animal behavior, and the more abstract neuroscience topics (particularly consciousness research). We likely won't post much on it as overtly here because I don't enjoy talking science on tumblr much because most people (in my experience) don't actually want to talk about research as much as they want to prove their point.

We are avid bird watchers and regularly document / photograph the birds we see and upload them to ebird. We really enjoy it as an activity and social engagement and really love sharing that joy and knowledge with people. We actually have a minor in Avian Science and have been tested on North American ID skills. We also know more than we need to about chicken biology as a result of said degree. If you want to send anything about birds, bird watching, or asking for a bird ID (even non North American), they are ALWAYS welcome and you are ALWAYS allowed to tag us in any bird related content.

We do a lot of creative work and have dedicated ourselves (without writing partner) to a large story world project that we've been writing for over a decade now. We actually specifically started grinding our art skills in 2020 specifically just to help build that world up. Art is one of our largest self soothing coping mechanisms. We are going to turn that story world into a comic and a TTRPG system so please check out @thedevaaffliction.

Overall, we really just like thinking about a lot of topics and things as part of both our interest in research, philosophy, and as part of our Buddhist practice. We don't really find an interest in arguing discourse / syscourse because we really dislike and see very little benefit in debate. That said, we love to discuss experiences, thoughts, feelings and perspectives on complex topics and as long as the intent is to discuss and share rather than to "win" or "prove", we really enjoy that sort of enrichment in our life so we do welcome it. That said, we withhold the right to deem any conversation as more debate than discussion and to abandon it.

Additionally, related to the fifth point, we believe in being fully transparent about our past and admission that we were wrong as we think it is very important to be able to re-evaluate your beliefs and opinions and grow. In our mid teens we actually were pretty far into the alt-right pipeline and until about a year or so ago, we were staunch anti-endos. These days we are basically commies and very pro-endo. If anyone has any interest on how we pivoted so hard in our opinions on those topics, we are more than open to talk and discuss it as well as any insights we pulled from the experience.

Also we love martial arts - I forgot that cause I'm not particularly XIV brained rn but we REALLY enjoy martial arts.

We suck at being labeled and having labels. We're just very very queer.

🎬 Chapter 1: Germany said “welcome”... and then immediately kicked me in the shins.

In 2024 i went on exchange. germany wasn’t the dream — but the universe said: “girl, trust me.” spoiler: she was so real for that. 😭

I almost missed my flight (classic). the airline lost my luggage (also classic). I landed at 2am. it was -4°C. I had €50 and the clothes on my body. german level? 0. self-confidence? also 0.

enter: stefano. a german man, married, two daughters, and a shocking number of stories about coco bongo in cancún circa 2014. (yes. he told me all of them.)

💔 Chapter 2: The Date That Wasn’t

so there I was: new country, new continent, vibing, thriving, missing trains, drinking beer 🍻…

then june 13 happened. concert in the main square. and i met her. a girl who made my heart do parkour.

was it mutual? girl… no 😭 she wanted a cute little kiss goodnight and nothing more. we exchanged IGs, hung out, went to watch a Germany game.

i thought it was a date. turns out, it was not a date. LMAO.

she’s three years older and has the vibe of a wise 65-year-old forest witch. we had zero chemistry. i went home like:

🏥 Chapter 3: Pain, Surgery & Flowers

june 27. the worst pain i’ve ever felt hit me like karma in crocs. renal colic. 😵‍💫 i called my insurance, grabbed a cab half-folded in pain, made it to the ER, and boom: emergency surgery.

they found a kidney stone blocking everything. one hour later, i was being operated on. no time to panic. no time to anything. and no one by my side.

with zero german and doctors who spoke zero english, we communicated through ✨vibes, charades, and trauma bonding✨.

the second surgery would be in late july — right before my flight back to mexico.

somehow, i made it through. and somewhere between the morphine and the main character crisis, i realized:

“i don’t know how much time i have left in germany… or in life tbh.” (dramatic? yes. accurate? also yes.)

and my bestie — my post-op oracle — just looked at me and said:

“what do you have to lose?”

⚡️that line hit harder than espresso at 2am⚡️ so i texted her again.

💞 Chapter 4: we saw each other again

and again. and again. and suddenly, we were laughing, crying, sharing playlists, life stories, and feelings that felt too big to name.

until one day, i just knew — i didn’t want to be with anyone else. and the plot twist? she didn’t either. 🥹

my time was running out. she sat with me during my second surgery. waited. held my hand. brought flowers. three days later, in the most chaotic and beautiful moment, she asked me to be her girlfriend.

was it rushed? yes. imperfect? totally. real? absolutely.

✈️ Chapter 5: the airport & the letters

four days later, she took me to the airport. our eyes tired from too little sleep and too many tears. we read each other’s letters. we held on tight — knowing this wasn’t the end. just… a pause.

almost a year has passed. she visited me in mexico (angel behavior). and now… it’s my turn. to hold her again. to go back to the city that gave me everything — my chaos, my strength, my love.

The other day, an Anon for @reflections-in-a-critical-eye asked about SHINee 2Min lore, and Anon was referred here for further info, lol. Well, I'm not sure there is lore per se, but I can give a mini rear-view mirror take on 2Min.

Spoiler: here's 2023 Minho staring at Taemin.

The early years give a beautiful vibe of dongsaeng/hyung puppy love. They're just absolutely adorable. Minho is Taemin's closest hyung in age, and Minho has mentioned that until Taemin showed up, he was the baby.

Shippers call this moment c. 2010 the "Koala Hug." 2Min were celebrating Minho doing an extreme vaulting challenge. Yes, you read that right.

However, that vibe eventually gets tinged by SM playing with Taemin's gender presentation.

When Taemin is given extensions and suddenly bombarded with men telling him he looks like a woman etc, Minho is one of the people to confidently say that Taemin is "pretty to begin with" so there is nothing to be done about it. I always read that as him almost being prideful over it; Minho definitely likes the idea of Taemin being prettier than girl groups or his work beating out that of girl groups (read into that how you want, lol), but I think he liked Taemin exactly how he was from the get go, which is cry-inducing really.

If you were to go back and look at shipper blogs and live journals from 2013/2014, you would see some 2Min fans getting upset that their ship has sunk. There was this idea that when Taemin became an adult, he put away childish things (and non cis-het things) and that included Minho (lol). Many perceived Taemin had switched to a more manly look/concept, and/or that he really wanted to shed his gender neutral or ambiguous traits/looks.

Dream Girl was uh, really something.

It's true that in 2013, we see a more boyish Taemin versus Sherlock Taemin. He's also older and filling out and indeed, becoming a young adult. Interestingly, he does We Got Married (let's not go there) and goes on to start his solo career in 2014.

But I think what this "lore," or shipper narrative, reveals is how easy it was for shippers to slot 2Min into a sailing ship because they perceived Taemin to be more feminine to Minho's masculine, thus upholding heteronormative ideas of romance even in a supposedly gay "couple" - a common trait of same-sex shipping that although nuanced by certain cultural factors is still often a staple of same-sex shipping and related fanworks.

Fast-forwarding to mid-2018, we have a clingy if uneven 2Min. By the end of 2019, we have a somewhat wistful 2Min who like to attend each other's events and make grand gestures in front of the crowd.

In late 2020, we have Minho driving for hours on the day of his discharge, in uniform, to head directly to Taemin's taping for Idea at one of the TV networks in Korea. The rest of SHINee are there, and they treat us to an IG live of their reunion. 2Min are cute and a little cuddly - it's clear they missed one another. 🥹

2018 2Min have great hair colors.

What were 2021 2Min like? Friendly, feisty, and in the end, a little romantic/bromantic (pick your poison). 2Min fighting or annoying one another happened, but by the time Taemin enlisted, it was clear Minho was an emotional rock for him to some degree. And when Taemin was unwell, it was Minho who spoke to us first and then began updating us at the 14th anniversary party, with Key and Onew also speaking.

The Ugly Truth of Why Classic and Vintage BMW No Longer Posts on Facebook

It's a long-ish read but it's a very interesting one.

Since Classic and Vintage BMW began posting on Twitter / X in December of 2024, quite a few people have asked me “What happened to the original Classic and Vintage BMW page on Facebook?”. Rather than try to condense the long story into the shortest answer possible, I thought it’d be best to sum it all up in one place.

In September of 2010, the original Classic and Vintage BMW Facebook page was created in memory of my late friend, and fellow Bimmer enthusiast, Glenn Hurter.. (pictured below) ..Along with the original C and V BMW FB page, I had also created the original C and V BMW Tumblr blog/site which was primarily used to host model-specific information as well as advertising BMW-related merchandise on behalf our FB page members. By early 2014, I got tired of the materialism of it all and I decided to walk away from FB and the 35,000 follower C and V BMW scene. I left the FB page in the hands of two moderators that kept the page going for the next five years.

I returned to FB in January of 2019 to help cure myself of a long-winter-inflicted bout of cabin fever. I was welcomed back to the, by this time, 85,000+ page member C and V BMW page being told.. “You started the page. In my opinion, it’s still yours and you can do whatever you want.” ..I started posting again but I refused to do anything in regards to maintaining a personal FB page. I refrained from ‘liking’ and commenting on posts and didn’t accept any friend requests. However I did ‘friend’ one of the page moderators. The other moderator refused to accept a friend request and never wrote back to the only message that I had sent to him. I was a little resentful at this but I let it pass. Having lost the password to the Tumblr blog/site, I tried to get it reinstated but Tumblr refused to grant me access. As a result, I created the Classic and Vintage BMW Marketplace FB group in order to give page members a place to sell their cars, parts, promote their events etc.

After a few months of posting on FB again, the page exceeded 100,000 followers. Everything was going great until scheduled posts that I had created began to disappear from the administrative queue. At first, I thought it was just a glitch in the FB system but this went on for weeks. Web searches for this type of glitch happening provided no results and I began to no longer feel that it was just a glitch in their system. After several weeks of this, I could take it no longer. In my frustration, I decided to PM the only moderator that would talk to me to see if he knew anything about the disappearing scheduled posts. I could tell that he was on the other side of the PM because I could see the three little dots going up and down indicating that the person on the other end was typing. I waited for his replies to show up but they never did. After a half hour to 45 minutes of heightening frustration of getting no replies to my questions, I decided to not only unfriend that particular moderator I also chose to remove him (and the other moderator) from their moderator positions. Twelve hours later, I went into my FB inbox to re-read what I’d written in order to try to mentally process it all. While doing so, and from out of nowhere, every reply to my earlier questions came flooding into my chat window all at once. They certainly weren’t showing up in real time earlier and I couldn’t just pass this off as another glitch in the system. Out of the thousands of FB PMs that I’d been a part of, nothing like this has ever happened nor has it ever happened to any FB user that I know of. In effort to apologize and to explain, I immediately tried getting in touch with that particular moderator through PMs, a phone call and third party individuals but any chance that I had of trying to explain what I could barely comprehend was of no use. He was pissed and rightfully so.

Not long after all of this happened, I received an email from someone by the name of “Marc Jean” who claimed to work on behalf of Motor Trend magazine. He asked if Classic and Vintage BMW would be interested in sharing relevant articles on each other’s platform. I agreed and eventually received an email from “Marc Jean” asking me for the email address that I used to sign into FB so that I could be added to Motor Trend’s Business Manager portal on FB. Supposedly, this would allow for the publishing and sharing of articles between our pages using Facebook’s built in ‘Instant Articles’ feature (something that I was very unfamiliar with). A few minutes after giving him my log in email (no password was given), I received an email saying that “Marc Jean” had removed me as administrator of the Classic and Vintage BMW page. Shortly after, I received another email to say that he had removed me from the Motor Trend Business Manager as well. A string of emails were sent back and forth. “Marc Jean” said that it was a mistake and that he had dealt with this before. I was also asked to provide several screenshots of what I was seeing on my end. I replied with my screenshots but “Marc-Jean” eventually stopped replying to my emails. The Classic and Vintage BMW page was no longer visible to me or the other page moderators that I had recently brought onboard.

By the end of the evening of May 17, 2019, the page had been unpublished world-wide. Fortunately, I still had access to the Classic and Vintage BMW Marketplace Group where I was able to let its members know that the original C and V BMW page had been hacked and that they could all follow a replacement page that I’d created. Two days later, I received a notice from FB saying that they didn’t believe that I was who I claimed to be and that my account would be suspended until I could provide them with a notarized affidavit and other documentation proving that I am who I am and that I had created the C and V BMW page. I provided them with a notarized affidavit that included copies of a passport, several legal documents, various screenshots and three magazine articles that mentioned me and my creation of the C and V BMW FB page (one of which included a photo of me). FB wouldn’t have it and I was never allowed back onto FB.

Seren's Studies: Odd Squad UK -- "Strictly Odd Dancing" Episode Followup, Part 1

Never in a million years would I have guessed this title was a reference to a show. Specifically, the everlasting, why-the-fuck-has-this-gone-on-for-over-two-decades Dancing with the Stars, or its UK equivalent Strictly Come Dancing.

However, if others' opinions about this episode are any indication...that might be the only good thing about it. I'm terrified.

(svsss) first: this fandom makes me feel like it's 2014 again with how sandbox-y and meme-y and open to any and all ideas it is. there's nothing more freeing than knowing you can create something for the silliest or niche-st possible idea and it'll find its group of people <3

second: love how one person's idea, for example a specific AU, inspires other fans to create their take for it--and how warmly that's welcomed (think bingpup!) and celebrated. it truly feels like a cookout where fellow fans bring their homemade meals to share with one another

and the third: the popularity of the ace/demi Shen Qingqiu headcanon. when i read it in a fic the first time, not expecting it in the slightest, i was so pleasantly surprised and thought it was just a one-time lucky draw of sorts--but then it happened in more and more fics 🥺 i love it

i love writing hurt/comfort, characters battling with their own thoughts, moral dilemmas, flashbacks & memories (reflections on the past and how it influences the present), epistolaries (the modern kind, focused on DMs, text messages, social media posts, etc.), and more

and i looove reading hurt/comfort, tropes that play with sex themes/professions, identity play (fake identity, hidden identity, identity reveal? n i c e), and also the fics where other characters learn/get to see the suffering one character went through (e.g. through seeing the character's memories, being magically taken back to those moments, hearing echoes of them, and so on), among others!
