You rolled your eyes as you saw Arthur's comment on yours, how could he be so childish. Forget it, you reminded yourself, today is for Ollie and Ollie only.

You waited in Ollie's driver room till he was done with the debrief, you'd go out to celebrate with him and his family later. His trainer had given him a pass on the diet, after all, scoring points in F1 was no joke.

Idk why but lately I've been thinking a lot about a reader who is some flavor of trans/didn't vibe with their assigned gender at birth. Maybe in a scenario where they were kinda neglected with the X-men they were worried being different like that would only make them more isolated/get reader in trouble. So in a scenario like in fallen snow au where they are separated from the yans for an extended period of time and find themselves free and living on their own, reader just goes all out with dressing and presenting themselves in a way that they feel like they couldn't before. Like, they look completely different from when they left/ran away from the mansion.

When the yans do find reader? Reader has gone all out, they realized theyre transfem? Reader is wearing all the girly clothes she always wanted to but was too scared to try. Reader realized theyre transmasc? He's cut his hair, has a binder and models his look after like- Ryan Reynolds or something. Reader realized theyre nonbinary? They be rocking the most slaying fit that reassures them of their androgenous identity.

Idk just- the x-men finally finding reader after a long time only to realize just how little they all really knew reader. The yans realizing just how badly they messed up bc only when reader was alone and away from the mansion did reader feel confident/comfortable enough to come out. Heck, maybe reader DID try to come out but the yans were just that neglectful.

The real question is if the yans overcorrect themselves and slather trans!reader with affection or just act like reader always presented as their preferred gender and the yans try to pretend they didnt mess up as badly as they did.

I was thinking about this as well-

If Creed Reader (or any Reader) was trans (transfem/transmasc/transenby), they'd feel like they could breath, could just be, foe the first time they're alone amd on their own. They have no one to please, no reason to pretend, nothing to hide or standards to reach or anything holding them back. So they get creative. Go all out.

After The 2nd extermination and battle with Heaven, the Hotel gets another sinner. Everyone is extremely happy with this (well Alastor couldn't careless, except for how entertaining this sinner could be--and how he could use them to bug his Muse).

However...once VOX catches sight of this sinner...it's over. This sinner is his killer after all, and while Vox did leave a mortal blow on him as well (multiple blows, to be exact--Vox had poisoned his knives, during their fight. But the sinner had still popped Vox's head like a grape, so while Vox's death was quick the new hazbin's was an agonizing's six month long ordeal.)

So the Vees start ignoring the hotel and everyone in it. Angel Dust doesn't get called in--which at first he likes and is happy about. Until he starts running out of money. Which has never happened before with Val--the cash has always flowed, but so has the texts and calls...now, theres nothing.

Vox isn't following Alastor around at all, or paying him any attention either. He's hurt and pissed off. How dare Alastor help redeem his killer? Fuck the radio demon. Fuck the hazbin hotel. But especially Fuck Alastor and everything they ever had together.

OH. oh.... thorn your brain... humongus. ginormous. i endorse this idea 100% im crying screaming throwing up puking at this.genuinely tweaking rn what the hell

thinking... in the case that vox and husk had a familial relationship before he got contracted to alastor, he probably feels even MORE betrayed because now his pseudo father figure is also supporting his killer. fuck can you imagine. the horror that morphs into rage and anger when he realizes just who the new sinner at the hotel is

alastor probably doesnt understand why vox has been avoiding him at first, so he probably tries to send his shadow to go see why at first but when that gets turned away, he turns to angel, who for all intents and purposes is both elated to be left alone by valentino but also completely banned from the whole of the entertainment district for some reason. when they show up to ask why, charlie in tow, theyre informed by voxs quivering assistants that everyone associated with the hazbin hotel has been banned from the premises, before valentino and velvette come bursting through the doors and chases them out. alastor *almost* gets into a fight with them, but velvette manages to snatch him by the lapels and scream at him and call him a heartless bastard- at least, if youre fed up with voxs attention just tell him to fuck off like a normal person, you dont need to fraternize with the man who butchered and murdered him

and suddenly it all clicks with the fact that the new sinner at the hotel's stories, why he said he wouldn't be going with them to the entertainment district-- but then alastor, with his (sometimes annoyingly so) keen nose smells the scent of said sinner in the vees building and knows nearly instinctively that the bastard is headed for *his* vox's office, and without even a second thought he gives chase

Zora Worldbuilding Headcanons

Some core assumptions:

The BotW branch of the timeline is chronologically set AFTER the previous timeline, ie the events of ToTKs ancient past is set AFTER the last event of the Hyrule Historia timeline. essentially they all come back together to form one line that makes up ToTKs ancient era

The biggest effect on Hyrules topography was the flooding in Wind Waker. after an unknown point, the flooding ocean receded leaving behind the ruins of ancient Hyrule. at some point after that, the zonai settled parts of it and made the buildings wed see as ruins by the time of BotW. slowly the various tribes of hyrule immigrated back

all peoples within the setting of hyrule are loosely grouped into categories called tribes. in this sense, tribe refers a collection of peoples with shared traits, without anything concretely set in stone (for example, hyrule includes the tribe of hylians, the tribe of gorons, the tribe of koroks, etc etc. the main six who show up repeatedly can be considered the sage tribes (gerudo, hylian, sheikah, rito, goron, zora), and the various types of enemies can be considered the monster tribes (the blin tribe of bokoblin, moblin, bulblin, etc)

so with THAT in mind! heres shit that is almost entirely just Fun Background Context and worldbuilding that i mostly just rotate in my mind when working out events for that still-unnamed totk au

the zora are the tribe most heavily associated with the element of water. elemental water concerns not just the physical aspect of water, but conceptually is associated with the concepts of flowing time and change. as such, the zora show the highest degree of adaptation and physical changes

by the time of ToTK there are three descendants of Old Timeline Zora: the rito, who adapted with the help of valoo to achieve flight, and inherited the element of wind and forest from the kokiri, the "river dwelling" zoras that make up the current Zoras Domain and include Sidon, and the "reef dwelling" zoras that are further east in the oceans bordering akkala and include Yona. there are more than these 3 (only two of which are still zora as the rito have branched off so much and so long ago they are considered their own separate tribe) but these are the ones with the strongest presence in hyrule

the zora are very familiar with their own adaptable nature, and physical differences between different zora are rarely remarked on as its a matter of course. this typically confuses non zora when one refers to the rito as their air dwelling cousins, but to a zora this seems as obvious as the sunrise. some zora just evolved to fly, its that easy. they may not be fishpeople but theyre still cousins. zora rarely elaborate on this connection as initial confusion is misconstrued as confusion with regards to a zoras adaptable nature in GENERAL and not the specific connection between the birdlike rito and the fishlike zora

zora, overall, work on clownfish gender rules. personal physical traits can morph based on overall population and secondary sex characteristics adapt and change as needed. zora gender presentation, therefore, is completely divorced from sex characteristics and considered a matter of personal identification. clothing is essentially just fun accessories to jazz up your appearance. as such gender roles in zora society exclusively refers to whos doing what in procreation, but extrapolating habits, presentation, or identifying characteristics from those roles is deeply confusing. similarly confusing is the idea of differentiating relationships based on gender or sex characteristics (to a zora, all marriage is gay marriage).

well accustomed to change, the zora typically take cultural differences in stride and are known for their adaptable and friendly nature, though a perspective drawing root from the biology of fish exacerbated by an elf-like long lifetime means theres been a fair share of well meaning confusion and misinterpretations on their part.

the exception being the zora post calamity where, having suffered catastrophic losses and the death of their beloved princess, the zora of the domain reacted in their grief by becoming isolationist and traditionalist, in an attempt to staunch the flow of despair that was sweeping their lands. sidons ascension both as the champions heir in botw and the sage of water in totk metaphorically heals these wounds, helping the zora as a people embrace the everflowing nature of time and the changes they bring, as we must risk pain to fight for our happiness. by digging in our heels and keeping away, we prevent anything from getting better, letting the water stagnate. though the current may sweep us away, only the flowing river brings new life.

the zora, being the tribe associated with the element of water, react incredibly strongly to its presence. this is most visible with zora royalty. ancient tradition dictates the spiritual stone of water, the zora sapphire, be used as a wedding gift by the royal heir. proximity to such a powerful source of elemental water causes the zora ruler to grow steadily larger and more powerful as they age, as the spiritual stone is used as their marriage token. this is why the zora king is typically a massive individual, combined with the zoras long lives, one can get absolutely MASSIVE. this connection is also why the zora ruler is so powerful, as seen in king dorephan physically throwing a guardian off a cliff

following up on this, most zora cannot cast magic. the implied gender dynamics in sidons questline in ToTK deeply aggravate me and, imo, cheapen Miphas skills as a champion, as yona and other female zora are seen performing the same healing magic mipha was known for, and then purifying water in sidons place (so why is he even doing it if he can just take shifts??? anyways). adjusting for this, magic is, by ToTK, an extremely rare skill to have. even the presence of the spiritual stone does not imbue one with the ability and skill to cast magic dorephan may be powerful, but he is no mage.

in that vein: yona and her attendants have no healing magic. they demonstrate their compassion and dedication to helping with the crisis by tediously and thoroughly treating the sludge-affected and wounded zora in the domain by hand, scrubbing them clean and tending to them with non magical medicine. mipha was not born a sage, and in truth had very little magical power, and a shallow connection to the magical element of her people. what was remarkable was the sheer skill and razor point efficiency with which she used what little magic she had, generating returns that so outclassed her power that it seemed a miracle. this is why mipha was so short, as zora grow in proportion to their connection to water, and miphas connection was constantly stretched to its limit by her compassionate nature and determination to heal and save all she could

as a change to ToTK used in the au, and also a headcanon: miphas court was not always a source of water for zoras domain. once the sludge crisis began, polluting the waters around the domain, a wellspring of clean water sprung up as if by magic underneath her statue, flowing downwards towards the zora. the area is well explored, and there is no immediate logical explanation, leading to it being widely perceived as miphas final miracle (which is not far from the truth. vah rutah generates water from nothing, and even in death mipha cant help herself but to try and save her people, watching over them still)

zora religion is a matter of significant cultural importance, and to the surprise of no one, features a heavy emphasis on water. zora, overall, are deeply spiritual as a rule, and this shows clearly in their architecture and their noted tendency to dedicate massive structures to religious worship and celebration (and often time such structures work both as a spiritual source of worship and as a practical location with a designated function. nearly all water temples are explicitly religious, and they also tend to double as water plants in some fashion)

frequent interaction with the hylians has meant that the zoras have had PLENTY of time to comingle and embrace hylian culture and religious concepts, to a degree that often surprises and shocks your average unaware hylian. the zora are somehow more gung ho about hylia than even THEY are (hylian culture and religion are for another post, but in general hylia worship is treated as a subtle background element and is rarely brought to the forefront of active attention or behavior. by contrast, the zora have an organized religion focusing on her with a dedicated priest role)

the heavens above are a vast starry ocean, the dwelling place of spirits, and where the horizon meets the sea, the dead can cross over from one plane to another. the rivers below are a muddied reflection of the starry rivers above, and where life is brought forth in the waters below it transitions to a new form in the waters above. the shine of the stars is the glint of light off the scales of celestial zora, and reflective metals like silver help them find their kin in the lands below

"all waters meet in the ocean" being a zora idiom about how many different concepts will often lead back to one solution, and how many different peoples can find unity at a single destination, regardless of how dissimilar they may initially appear

an emphasis on the flowing mutable qualities of water is reflected both in the zoras conception of identity (prone to change as time and circumstance changes, both metaphysically and also physically) and also their spiritual practice, focusing on the nature of spiritual transition from one state to another

the zonais interaction with the zora was a bit of a reversal of typical first contact enlightenment. the zora have a long history of stellar plumbing systems and engineering, to such a degree that first contact resulted in the zonai learning and adapting zora blueprints and methodologies for the construction of the water temple sky island

Thoughts about Thatcher that are rotting my brain

Ik i brought this up before but its worth restating-- he's scared to go out, scared of alternates finding him, and scared of his reflection *but yet* he's willing to watch TV. He knows well that something can hop out at anytime and kill him, and yet he still sits in front of the TV.

I like how "Everyday Gets brighter" means different things/has different affects when applied to certain situations: For MCPD, its telling the people theres hope as long as theyre around; for Thatcher's rant, it has more of a sad vibes like he's trying desperetly to stay optimistic about everything; then for 'Everyday gets brighter, my ass', it's Sarah not only mocking the police department, but Thatcher + his rant as well.

In vol333, Thatcher uses a 10-18 and a 10-78 to request backup. The only difference between those two codes is that a 10-18 mean urgent-- its the one he used when the cameras were showing various parts of mandela

Not sure I understand your first question honey. After I painted a pet, I save it to my library. And then when I want to share it I use the tray files importer to isolate the right files.

Yes, you can create body and fur presets using Cmar’s software. It’s called something like ts4 morph maker I think It is not updated for horse yet though.

I wish I knew a bit more about 3D because I’d love to make better presets for my dogs. (Like the Saint Bernard, the Great Dane, the corgi…etc). But it is completely out of my wheel unfortunately.

How is each magical witch dynamic with their familiars?

Gertrud and hers are like a princess and her knights. They protect her without fail and love her very much. They are made from her house plants that she named things such as Anthony or Adelbert

Ulla is the reincarnation of Suleika’s late dog. Ulla is her only close friend so she loves her dearly. There is one main Ulla that she knows is hers but she still loves the others similarly

Charlotte isn’t very close to her familiars as she already has friends and family she cares about a lot more. Pyotr are her playmates and sometimes bring her cheese. Polina are quite strict so Charlotte isn’t so fond of them but they’re good at looking after her when Candeloro is busy

Elly isn’t close with Daniyyel and Jennifer either. She sees them more as tools for use but they don’t mind. She’s closer with the two main angels as she sees herself in them and they sometimes help remind her of her good memories when she’s feeling low.

Albertine is close with all her Anja as she sees them as friends. She made each one herself so she loves them all. The Anja are all a little more mature so they can look after Albertine better. However sometimes they can be a little overwhelming for Albertine because of their great number.

Gisela isn’t particularly bothered by Dora. Like Elly, she sees them as tools. They’re simply there when she needs them. Dora look up to her however as they just think she’s so cool.

Elsa Maria and Sebastian are like master and servant. Sebastian blindly follow her orders without question because she is their beloved witch. They are happy with this because she gives them a purpose

Uhrmann couldn’t care less about the Bartels, they just get in her way. Even when they wish to help or console their witch, she won’t listen. They’re not very strong either because of the witch’s lack of self confidence so they might as well not be there

Oktavia is close with Holger and Klarissa. Holger are her band members and Klarissa are her students that she teaches dance to at school.

Izabel is very fond of her familiars but she denies it and won’t show so to others. Each familiar is a work of art made by her so she loves them all. They may not be very well made or original but their witch thinks everything she makes is perfect

Patricia has a familial/friendly bond with Mathieu as they represent her late classmates. They’re her perfect idea of a classmate so of course she likes them. The teacher Mathieu are a bit more stern and cold but Patricia respects them and they respect her.

Roberta hates Gotz, just like usual. They simply cat call her and try to show off their muscles. She couldnt care less, at least they listen to her during battle but otherwise, forget it.

Walpurgisnacht’s shadow magical girls are all her adopted daughters. They can transform alongside their witch but are not witches themselves. The love is mutual. The other parade troupes are a bit more distant to the witch. Unlike her daughters they are made of magic and are a little more unfeeling. The witch however, respects them for staying by her side.

Candeloro adores her Du Polignac, she cherishes all the friends she has. They work with her at her cafe and all strive to do well for her. Each one of them gives the witch a strange feeling of deja vu but she never thinks about it too deeply.

Ophelia is neutral on Zoe, they are merely there to aid her, they are her army. She is striving to be strong enough to fight without them. Zoe dont mind this, they are happy doing whatever pleases her.

Quitterie adores her familiars, Kyutee. Theyre just the epitome of cuteness how could you not? They dont do much to fight but she doesnt mind. That just makes them all the more cuter!

Itzli detests her familiars, she cant always control them. They are morphed forms of other witches familiars that try to mimic their new witch. The witch hates them because they remind her of foolish witches. The familiars are all surprisingly strong.

Nutcracker Homulilly doesnt care about most of her familiars except the clara dolls. As the rest are great in number but generally weak, they are seen as disposable to her. The clara dolls however, she treats like her little sisters. She wouldnt like them so much if they werent so powerful. They think like her and follow her every whim so theyre perfect.

well tbh i just kind of dove back in myself, i was in a very similar situation where i had played as a child in the early 2000s but then dropped it until this year a few months ago! lots has changed since i last played lol so i had to do some digging myself to learn how to do things.

first off theres this new thing called daily/weekly quests that let you do small tasks to earn neopoints and items (sometimes rare expensive ones)! do that daily and youll get lots of cool stuff.

theres also trudy's surprise which is similar except its just a daily spin-the-wheel thing that earns you neopoints and prizes!

you can have more pets now too, and you can even buy new pet slots with neocash!

when i was little and played i NEVER got any paintbrushes or potions bc i didnt know how to earn enough neopoints. but now with the dailies im at 3 million neopoints and it didnt take very long at all!

if youre aiming to get a cool neopet color id check the user shops using the shop wizard OR the trading post :) people put them up for sale/trade all the time. speaking of shops, if you have any rare items from the dailies/weeklies, you can sell them and earn lots of neopoints that way too! thats partially how i got to 3 mil lol. JELLYNEO IS YOUR FRIEND. its a fan-run site and they have price updates and info for every neopets item you can have! they also show you every color of neopet possible so you can plan for your next pet color :)

if im being honest thats about all i really do with neopets right now. i used to read the comics in the neopian times but i havent checked it lately to see if theres any new ones. maybe i'll do that

Okay this is gonna be a long post so buckle up.

In 2009 i was a wee little art student of 19 baby baby years. During that time i was also part of a group of people known to arrange swedish anime conventions called Uppcon.

I was known in the social circle as the artsy person. And one of the ppl in the staff contacted me reg a client who looked for an artist. It was the producer of Caramellagirls. We chatted over facebook and agreed to meet irl at a cafe.

And this is where i did every single mistake a inexperienced artist tend to do when they get their first “art gig”. I was so excited i didnt pick up on all the warning signs;

- he insisted on paying for the food for me. Which my broke ass student brain didnt object to, but now afterwards i realize that you should avoid this. Dont give a sus client any reason to put you in any kind of debt, even if its just a lunch.

- he was unclear about what he wanted from me. I knew he wanted me to redesign the characters because at this point in time, he p much wanted to make bank out of the caramelldansen meme (which was at this point in time an outdated meme but not old enough to be nostalgic. It was cringe.) we discussed ideas and concepts and basically he wanted me to redesign the characters because this was also that time when the caramellagirls looked hideous:

These arent even 3d models. Theyre 2d images of 3d rendered models than they then animated by making them appear to be the actual 3d models. You know, if theyd turn the camera a bit to the side the girls would morph into some broken nightmare.

I dont remember everything but after the meeting i decided to spend my free time drawing some example ideas to show him.

Mind you we had not made any kind of official agreement or contract, no mention of how much ill get paid besides “ofc youre getting paid :)” and i didnt even know how to make an invoice.

So i drew some sketches to show him, as well as an idea on how to translate anime-face proportions to work in profile view and front view. I clearly remember him calling me on the phone and say that “they look hideous and disfigured” (among other ableist words). Like yeah ok sure you didnt like my style approach but dont be fucking rude?

after some work i sent him three drawings, which are these:

I actually no longer have the original photoshop files because the producer didnt realize that when you drag and drop a file from a dropbox folder, it removes the file from the dropbox.

But he liked this one. He paid me 100USD and just decided that i apparently had done my job now and left???

but nah he wasnt done. He would occasionally call me asking if i could make variations of them. Mind yall i was in college and stressed out about my own life but i havent yet learned to say no. But one day when he called i had a cold but i guess i sounded as if my pet just died or smth because after i told him i “dont have time” he excused himself and ended the call.

So yeah he used my inexperience w clients to make art for a low price and now whenever i see any new caramellagirls content, its so obvious how they havent found any new artist because they use my drawing as much as they can lmao:
