I think my issue sometimes, in of myself, is that I ask Too Many Questions.

Not that asking Too Many Questions is bad, it's more so I have a high possibility of having ADHD and I have dyslexia, so my brain runs on a 'find new thing, learn EVERYTHING about said new thing as quickly as possible before we forget'.

Which, of course, for Witchcraft is fantastic, because I'm constantly learning and growing, and my thirst for hoarding knowledge brings me into contact with new people, and I learn even more, but I do have a tendency to struggle to slow down.

It's the start of Mabon today as I write this, and Tyr entered my space today. Naturally, I was really excited, I find him, Freya and Freyr, Fenrir and Jormungandr really really cool, and want to learn more about Norse Mythos, so asked if he would be sticking around or if he wanted to work with me in the future in the Norse Aspect, and fully got told to 'calm down and slow down' by like three different deities (at this point Rhiannon and Manawydan have realised I don't mean bad, I just get very excited to learn, and Hekate I think clocked it immediately since she made me research her in-depth so I slowed down a bit before working with me at all lol).

So I think it may just be the neurodivergance in me, but I do worry sometimes that I come across as a pest, when legit I walk into a practice, whether it be art or music or witchcraft, and my first thought is 'How does this work, and Why, and What is the history behind it?'

Guys I'm back-

It has been a nightmare lately this is the only thing I managed to draw in weeks? Finals and uni stuff that's taking all of my time and energy, slowly turning me into a cafeinated slug (worst part is caffeine doesn't even have an effect on me? I only drink coffee for the TASTE can you imagine). Anyway the rush won't be over until end of January but hopefully I'll be able to ignore the stress and draw anyway :)

See, I personally find this quest to find pagan/pre-Christian elements in Welsh/Irish literature quite unnerving - I don't know about anyone else.

There's something to be said about genuinely discovering pre-Christian elements in a narrative or story and that being where evidence and study has led you. But I see some people on this fruitless quest to find pagan elements in very Christian texts and sometimes it feels like if no pagan elements can be found, people start making stuff up out of whole cloth - and that can be very dangerous for already not-well known texts in minoritised languages!

There's already so much misinformation out there about Irish/Welsh texts and literature in general - so it hurts to see people carelessly adding to the misinformation either out of ignorance or lack of respect for the source material.

I promise you the source material being Christian doesn't ruin it - you can in fact, enjoy these myths without making them into something they're not!

This is a cool video regarding Black Welsh speakers and some of the progress and some of the obstacles that have been happening in the country of Wales in regarding to Black Welsh people. Everyone can be a part of revitalizing a language and in regards to revitalizing indigenous languages (like Welsh) anti-Blackness should have no place in the process. Mabon!

So today (20/09/2023) I and my friend celebrated the first day of Mabon! We were both really excited about it and did a LOT of magic, I had a cleansing shower, wore a big red jumper and black shorts for some glamour witchery, and my friend did a full cleansing ritual too, so we were prepared.

So when she got to mine, we lit my pumpkin candle, placed it on a red cloth (under a fireproof dish dw we like fire safety in this house) and started by collecting all of our ingredients. Between us, we have half an apothecary, it's AWESOME.

We started by burning bay leaves with past traumas on them so we could let go of things (I personally dedicated each of my traumas to a deity I work with (Letting go of unearned guilt for Rhiannon, letting go of abusers for Hekate, and letting go of lingering trauma and past struggles for Manawydan)), then cast the ashes and salt to the winds (It was a particularly stormy day which was excellent vibes).

Then, I made specific deity bottles. These were offerings, made of things I had found or been gifted, for each of my deities, to gift them something for helping me in the past and future. As well as this, we had a new deity introduce themselves; Tyr! Which I was very excited for, and we did some deity work to say hello! (At one point, one of the deities even changed the songs we were playing halfway through which was VERY spooky but cool, lol)

I and my friend also exchanged tools and herbs, and I now own jars of lavender (FINALLY), Black screws, a tiny tiny spider moult which I'm not entirely sure what to do with, and fine Pink Salt, as well as quite a few white candles, & I stocked my friend with salts and herbs!

We played intuition games, and I found out my intuition is strong - even more so than a witch who'd been practicing for years longer than me, which I found VERY entertaining lol.

Then, we had a snacc! Gotta keep that energy up!

And finally, we finished off with a bit of Tarot and Rune Readings.

I don't think I'll be able to do MUCH else since I'm starting Uni tomorrow, doing uni work on Friday, and then working all weekend, but I enjoyed the vibes while they lasted, and am excited for Autumn!
