HoJun stepping in because he wants more and JaeYoon taking it as an insult and being so hurt because HoJun expressed it so harsh and the two of them both aching with the separation and wanting to be something else and not even beginning to understand what they want or why and how JaeYoon flinches at being hurt and how HoJun can't label what he wants and so can't act on what he feels. And the way JaeYoon is still listening to him even though it hurt and how he's starting to see his other relationships in this new light as well and it hurts even more. And then having HoJun's friend be the one to point out that he's totally fallen for JaeYoon.

And then JaeYoon walks into an empty house that isn't the same home.

And then HoJun stares at him at works and asks for more words.

And then HoJun walks away with a voice that almost trembles.

And then JaeYoon stares after him with a heavy heart.

And then JaeYoon realizes his crush isn't worth sacrificing himself for in the end.

And the new loneliness, not new so much as old but now fresh, now an old wound broken open that had long ago scabbed over and been forgotten until now, until now it was ripped open again and suddenly it was like it had never healed, like it had never begun to heal at all.

And now JaeYoon has lost his friend who was never a friend and lost the new hopes and the new start of something more because he couldn't accept without proof.

And now HoJun has pulled himself away to soothe the ache in his heart that he hasn't labeled yet, has pushed down those feelings to try to protect himself.
