Uhuh, I got it, maybe everyone being surprised when yuta deals with you being a crybaby

Like maybe you have a reputation for being a cry baby. A scrap your crying a sad movie crying you store ran out of your favorite drink you holding back tears while telling the clerk "no it's ok"

I imagine this being modern au but do as you want 🤣

Alright alright I think I got it🧍‍♀️

Nobody is surprised when you start crying. You were known to be such a sensitive person and nobody blamed you for it. The jujitsu world was harsh but you tend to cry over the smallest things. That being a sad movie, seeing old people eat alone, seeing stay animals on the streets and worst. Your friends where so used to it that sometimes they watched you cry or waited for Yuta to come along and console you. They’ve never seen it really happen though. Usually they would leave the two of you behind and go on with there mission/day.

Then Yuta had to suddenly leave to Africa and well you were a mess. They had absolutely no idea on how to deal with you. Maki would try to make you feel better by being positive.

"We’ll look at the bright side you saved yourself twenty bucks." Maki said as the both of you watched a 13 year old take the last makeup product you were really looking forward too. It was trending all over Japan and you were dying to get your hands on it. You had to wait for pay day to come in so you could get your hands on it though.

You turned to look at Maki with eyes already watering.

"But I wanted it for days now! What’s a kid going to do with makeup?" Tears start to roll down.

Maki looked at you and then the little girl contemplating the solution in her head."Fine, I’ll fight the little twerp." Maki said pulling her sleeves up.

You quickly grab your arm and shake your head telling her it was fine. Maki panicked not wanting to cause a scene in the store. She then patted your back and continued to say more positive things but nothing seemed to work. At the end you both went home as you cried.

Panda and Inumaki tend to try to make you laugh. As you guessed it doesn’t work. It seemed like everything they’ve done has failed.

Then the next year rolled around and Maki would pray that someone would be able to put up with you. That also didn’t happen sadly. The first time they witnessed you cry was over your Ice cream that fell onto the ground. They all looked shocked and looked at the second years for help.

Today you decided to cry over a failed test grade. You held the paper in your hands as you looked at the biggest 69 smacked on the paper. Gojo made sure to emphasize that you failed by putting a crying cat sticker on it.

Panda turned to see your eyes watering. He slowly turned his paper around to hide his passing grade. "It’s okay y/n I also failed."

You look up at him with such a sad face. "You’re the worst liar!" You cry harder. Everyone knew panda was one of the smartest. Before Maki could even step in to try to help out she was stopped by a hand. They all looked to see it was Yuta who was back. Panda wanted to yell that he was here but Maki punched him in the arm. It was a blessing that Yuta came back early from his trip. She didn’t have to worry about you anymore.

He came in from behind you and gave you a tight hug. Trying to keep your hairs away from your face at the same time.

"Wow y/n you almost passed! You’ve improved so much since I left." Yuta said as he looked at your paper with tear drops all over it. "I already took this test when I was abroad and flunked it. (Biggest lie ever) Do you think we could study together so we can score higher?" Yuta asks looking at you for approval.

You give him a small nod as you wipe your face. you didn’t know who you were talking to but you were okay with studying with someone else. "No more crying okay? You won’t be able to see what you got wrong while we go over it." He pulled a tissue from his pocket and wiped your face. He tends to always carry tissue because of you and well it comes in handy. Maki almost jumped out of her seat when she saw you stopped crying.

You finally look at him with red eyes. Then your eyes widen when you noticed who it was."Since when you were back? You where gone for so long and- and I was so sa" You say as tears started to roll down again not being able to finish your sentence. He laughs and hug you tighter than last time.

"I just got back! No more crying y/n, if you stop crying we can go get that makeup product you kept writing to me about." He says as he pats your head.

"About that, it’s pretty much sold out everywhere." Maki said

"Then we’ll just preorder it, or wait till it drops again. It’s not gone forever, for the mean time we can try out new products." Yuta said as he held you. You were still crying but not because of the grade or the product. It was because of how much you missed him and he understood that. He was going to make sure to spend the whole day with you no matter what.

Tentative thoughts about the JJK Epilogue Chapters that have just leaked.

Spoilers (obviously) under the cut:

As you know if you have come across my posts, I’m a shipper so I view things with a special satosugu lens. I mean, they’re the grandparents - the strongest of the modern era - who started the wave of change, after all.

Just this image alone reminds me of that:

I digress.

So I think it links back to Gojo trying to nurture the students so that what happened to Geto and him wouldn’t be repeated.

The epilogue of each person seems to pull on themes relating to Gojo & Geto.

Snow = their connection = their Ao / 青春 / Blue Spring

Nostalgia. Unchanging bond. A sentimentality. Something treasured.

The person who you are on the inside may not change you when if things in life occur or threaten to change you.

Panda being Yuta’s/Gojo clan’s treasures = being spoken about by children of the future.

The passage of time that is natural. What seems to be a peaceful world. The curse between Yuta & Rika was unlike what was between Gojo & Geto.

If one is willing to heal, people can recover & move on. EDIT: Even if I’m not generally a fan of YutaMaki , I guess I can see the sense in it. Yuta is a bit monstrous from being able to bind Rika & upon releasing use her shikigami & move on (despite(?) his pure love much as it is part of his CT) with Maki. And Maki can use Mai (with honour) to obliterate her clan to change things. So they’re just quite fitting I guess. Gojo & Geto are a little different in that they moved on in some ways, but also bound each other emotionally until the end.

“From the bottom of my heart” / 心底 / 心の底 (as pictured from jjk0) - sincerity, authenticity. One’s true self.

That it matters whether one truly and sincerely cares. Whether the other portrays themselves authentically or not.

Even the blindfold and Gojo’s somewhat disapproving attitude towards Geto’s apparent frivolous attitude in his portrayal as a villain was pictured in 0 — seem to parallels with Nobara & her mum.

But they’re of course not perfectly paralleled. Gojo cared for Geto & Geto was honest with Gojo at the end. Geto also never enjoyed doing what he did, unlike that Nobara’s mum appears to. But that is if we believe what she actually says.

U: Aren’t you cold being beside me?

S: The same goes for you, Uraume.

Theme here? My only one.

Each other’s only exception. And they’re reunited in the afterlife.

Edit: if I’m not mistaken, Gojo & Geto do not refer to each other by name in the afterlife. Only in the scene in jjk 0 (“satoru, you’re late” & “suguru, ______”).

And so it seems poignant that Sukuna & Uraume call each other by name in the afterlife + flashback in the epilogue.

It makes for a nice contrast between the pairs, imho... it’s worth noting here that they also go in opposite directions - South & North, respectively. To the past/“unknown” and somewhere new/a “next time”.

In sum... It echoes my thoughts over the ending of jjk. Gojo, Geto, and the others of their generation helped to break the norms of the crappy jujutsu world.

Gege injects these little salient themes into the series and they’re like Easter eggs for people like me who think too much 🤣

You looked up, blowing hair out of your face, taking a moment to enjoy the view. Kento had come home not too long ago. He still had his favorite blue dress shirt on, but the sleeves were now rolled up and his tie abandoned on the bed.

He raises a golden eyebrow as you slide the bowl against the counter. But you keep your eyes wide and, hopefully, innocent looking.

Walking over, Kento pecks your temple.

“I don’t quite get it? Can’t you lift it?”

Oh your sweet husband, you could tell he was utterly perplexed, and slightly suspicious. But you soldiered on.

“No, it’s really stuck!”

Gripping the bowl, you make it look like you struggle to pull it off the counter.

“I just wanted to prep some bread dough since you don’t work tomorrow…”

Now, Kento Nanami is a rational man. To a fault some would say (Gojo). But there is one thing that gets that man moving faster than his many, many brain cells can ping. And that is seeing you

So at the sound of your slightly mournful tone, obviously that wouldn’t do! You were so sweet, wanting to spoil and bake for-

It takes a moment for it to register, but after a blink or two of his brown eyes, he realizes.

Flour.

He’s holding the bowl, and you’re holding in laughter. In his haste to solve the sticky bowl problem, he’d royally overshot the force it would take.

You couldn’t help it, laughter bubbled out of you at his bewildered expression. His brows furrowed at the betrayal. His face and top of his chest coated in flour.

“Stuck, huh, my love?”

His voice was low, soft, a chuckle leaving him as he swiped flour from his cheeks let you know you were in trrroouubblleee.

Before you can make a run for it, large, floury hands grip your cheeks gently, pulling you in for a powdery kiss as he wipes as much on you as he can, while also tickling you MERCILESSLY! Struggling, squealing, laughing, his hands find your other cheeks, gripping tight and pulling you in for a kiss.

“Guess I’m stuck on you now.”

You can’t help but laugh as he murmurs it against your lips. As if you’d have it any other way.

So yes, you have to go and buy the bread tomorrow on a little date (ohhhh noooo! 😜).

But tonight, you can go to bed, still softly giggling at the memory of his expression, how it morphed into that playful little snarl as he wrapped you in his arms.

JJK Men When You Get Your Period

A/N Split their reaction into 3 categories: freaking out, this is nothing, and wHAT 🤣 don't know if these would be considered "canon" but it's what I think may or may not be their accurate reaction 🤣Enjoy~!!

Gojo Satoru: This dude is high key low key freaking out I'm not even joking 🤣 he's seen blood but why is it coming out of there 🤣 "Babyyyyyy," Satoru's sweet voice rang throughout your shared apartment. You exited the bedroom in your robe, Satoru's smile dropping a little. "What's wrong honey? Why aren't you dressed?" "Satoru, I don't think I can escort you to your company's all white event." "Eh? Why? What's wrong? Talk to me." "In the state I'm in I'll end up cursing the whole event." "What are you talking about? You're scaring me Y/N-chan." "Everyone knows you don't wear white, especially now." "Make it make sense." "Babe I just started my period." "O-oh...ooooooooohmygawd are you ok?! Are you hurt?! Should I call in?! Yeah ima call in." "Satoru, stop being dramatic." you chided. "Go in my stead. This is the school's founding anniversary and plus you guys are honoring those who we lost. Can you imagine how Yaga and the rest of the staff will feel knowing one of their most prominent members doesn't show up?" "But what about you?" he pouted. Yuji Itadori: Much like his (adoptive) father he's freaking out too. This is uncharted territory for him. "Megumi! Have you seen Y/N?" "She went home early, said somethin' bout not feeling too good." Yuji rushed off telling Megumi to cover for him. He ran to the store and brought you a bouquet of daisies, quickly paying the cashier, and rushing to your apartment. A flurry of knocks could be heard at your door and you groaned knowing who it was. "Y/N! Y/N! Hello? Y/N!" He reminded you of a puppy, albeit an annoyingly cute one. You cracked the door and you swear you saw his eyes light up with stars. "Y/N!" He quickly hugged you allowing himself in. "Daisies?" "Oh," he offered the bouquet towards you. "These are for you." You chuckle. "Yuji, I'm not dead, though I do feel like I'm dying." "Huh? What's going on Y/N-chan? Are you alright? Do you need to go the hospital? Where does it hurt? On a scale of 1-10 how bad is your pain level?" "Yuji," you chuckle again. "Calm down. My period started today." "Eh?" you kissed his cheek reassuring him. "Don't worry I'm not gong to die off of a little bit of blood." "Little blood?!" "Yuji I bleed from my vagina once a month." "Oh," he blushes at how you can nonchalantly refer to your genitalia. To this day he still blushes when you say dick. "Lay with me? I need your warmth as my personal heating pad."

Yuta Okkotsu: He wouldn't freak out per se but he is a bit confused as to what to do. He'll try to help you out as best as he could while trying to keep Rika at bay 😅 "Rika-chan, please!" "I swear to gawd Yuta if you don't get her out of here I'll make her disappear for you." Your patience was at an all time low as the pain from your cramps intensified. It didn't help that your boyfriend was low key clueless so he thought it was a bright idea to summon his former lover to 'help' him. You couldn't blame him though, he isolated himself growing up so obviously he missed out on 'the talk'. You took a deep breath and ask through gritted teeth, "Rika dear, be a doll and give us a second hm?" She looked to Yuta and he nodded, you letting out the breath you were holding. "I don't understand-" "Yuta-kun, please. Let me say this first. I don't blame you for not knowing what do with these situations due to your upbringing but I've said this before: this is normal. To bleed every month. It lets us women know that 1) we are not pregnant and 2) prepares us for the pains of child birth." A blush spread across his face. "O-oh, is that so?" "Yes and I would appreciate it if you asked me instead of relying on Rika. Part of being on my period means I'll be experiencing mood swings like now and weird cravings. I'm your girlfriend Yuta. I'm in the here and now." "I'm sorry. I didn't realize it was like that." "It's ok." A moment of silence passed when he asked, "Is there anything I can do for you?" "Get me a pint of rocky road ice cream and we'll call it even."

Toge Inumaki: This poor baby would low key be freaking out 😅 he understands that you're bound to be in pain once a month but he still can't help but fret around 😅 "Mustard leaf! Mustard leaf!" "I'm fine Toge-kun. You don't have to worry. This is normal hunn'." "Bonito flakes!" "Toge-kun this. is. normal." "Salmon roe." You chuckled grabbing his face planting a kiss on his forehead. "Baby, the pain is nothing. It's just preparing me in the event that we have kids." His eyes grew big as he shyly says, "Salmon." You chuckled again kissing his forehead.

Kento Nanami: This man is a GOD SEND 😭 you want ice cream? He'll get it for you. Need a heating pad? Say less. This man is literally attentive to your needs especially when it's that time of month for you - he's those boyfriends that'll have a basket full of your favorite snacks ready for you 😭❤️ You walked into your shared apartment, body feeling heavy. Today was a long day at work and it doesn't help that you were on your period. You dropped your keys in the tray setting your purse down when you realized the scented candles, lights dim. "Baby?" Kento came around the corner mixing chocolate chip cookie dough in a bowl, your heart swelling at the image of him still in his dress shirt apron thrown over. "Hey love. Go ahead and take a bath. I ran the water so by the time your're done the cookies should be ready." You could feel your lips trembling as you walked to him enveloping him in a back hug. "Honey?" "You're such a blessing to me you know that? Too good for me." He turned around hugging you to him kissing your forehead. "I love you." "I love you too."

Megumi Fushiguro: This is nothing new to him, he's had to deal with Tsumiki when it was her time of the month. I feel like Megumi would be the one to get the sanitary napkins for you, no shame in his game 🤭 2 girls passed by whispering about how good looking Megumi is, Megumi not paying them any mind. He stood there pondering between the boxes of super tampons or ultra. "Would you like some help?" One of the girls offered. "No thank you. These are for my girlfriend." "Lucky girl." She purred as she moved closer. Megumi stepped back shoving the box of assorted pack in her face. "Thanks but I've found what I've been looking for."

Geto Suguru: Unlike his husbando counterpart Satoru, Suguru handles you with ease. He pries into your feelings trying to understand what it is that makes you tick during the time of the month and tries to help out as best as he could. A warm hand on your forehead rouses you from your sleep. You peel your eyes open to see your boyfriend. "Suguru?" "Hi love." he whispers. "How long was I out for?" "Couple hours," You try to sit up but wince at the pain in your lower abdomen. "You need another heating pad?" "No thank you." You look at your boyfriend small pools of tears welling at the corners of your eyes. "What's wrong love?" "I'm just-you're so good to me thank you, especially when my emotions are all over the place during the time of the month." Shushing you, he kissed your forehead gently reassuring, "Of course love. I'll always be here for you."

Ryomen Sukuna: This dude is a little shit ngl 🤣 when you're on your period he calls it your devil week because apparently that's when you act out 🙄 The King of Curses is usually never afraid of anything unless it's you on your period; he gets the concept of it and tries to steer away from you. There are a few times where he teases you about being on your period but he knows it never ends well 😅 You have a condition called menorrhagia so when you bleed you bleeeed. You had just got through changing out your pad for the 4th time within the last hour and a half when Sukuna snarkily remarks, "I've seen way more blood than that. What you got going on is nothing." You fling the used pad at his head. "What the hell Y/N!" "You see those clumps of jelly? That's my blood coming out of this vagina. Wanna know the worst part? Those jelly like clumps are blood clots, so don't you DARE FUCKING TALK TO ME ABOUT HOW LITTLE MY BLOOD IS BECAUSE GOT DAMN IT SUKUNA I WILL BLEED ALL OVER YOU IF I HAVE TO! "Ok ok chill it with the theatrics." "I swear to gawd Sukuna I will kill you with my own bare hands so help me God. If I can't kill you with these hands I will pour some holy water down your throat" "On that note let me go buy your favorite ice cream."

Choso: Choso is practically a blood bender 🤣 nah but in all seriousness when it's that time of month for you Choso is just 😅 his reaction is just 🤦🏽‍♀️ You groaned at how heavy your flow was. You were changing your pad while your boyfriend Choso was stepping out the shower glancing at your full one. "Ew babe, don't look at it. It's gross." "That's a lot of blood." Toji sniffed the air closing his eyes, inhaling deeply at your scent. He knew that it was that time of month for you. AIB: My AiB obsession started with the manga way back in the day (2010, was it?)! I love re-reading it when I'm not too busy, and you'll notice that I mix storylines/personalities from both the manga and the adaptation in my writing.

Except for Niragi - if I'm writing Niragi, it is Dori Sakurada I'm writing for, let's be honest. I would gladly murder manga Niragi, bring him back to life, and murder him again.

JJK: I haven't fully read the manga for JJK yet, but I do plan on it really soon; maybe over the summer!

AIB: I only ship Kuina x Ann - they are the air in my lungs and I wanted so much more from their relationship 🥹💕

Do you have advice for new writers?

Absolutely 💕 My biggest piece of advice is to write whatever it is that YOU WANT TO READ. Every story I've written so far is because it was something I wanted to read and couldn't find. It makes it easier because you know at least YOU are invested ✨️ Otherwise, just write. Write. And write. And write.

Also, don't try to be perfect in your first draft, you'll get frustrated. Most of my stories start as bullet points 🤣🤭

“Come on, we should do our own version of that video we saw the other day—you know which one, the one where the little girl picks her favorite relative?” you’d tell your brother.

“I recall it being the least favorite…”

“You know which one, then!” you grin. “Wouldn’t that be fun?”

But Ren, far from enthusiastic as you hoped him to be, instead appeared to be… skeptical. If not disapproving of your idea.

“I don’t know, Y/N. This sounds like a recipe for disaster.”

“Why? It’s going to be funny; I just know it!”

“Alright, if you say so. Just don’t say I didn’t warn you when someone ends with their feelings hurt.”

But you pay no mind to his warnings, opting to instead arrange a small family reunion (with extra guests, such as Gojo—though he always invites himself over regardless of if he’s considered or not) over at your clan’s estate, the perfect place to perform this seemingly humorous yet innocent game.

“Alright everyone, gather up!” you beamed at the sight of your lovely Naomi running to you as soon as you uttered those words. Already old enough to run, she always took the opportunity to show off her newly acquired skill—one of the many reasons that convinced you even further into making this test.

“Mama, mama!!” Naomi grins, jumping as her chubby little hands reached for yours. “I’m here mama!”

“I know, mochi. Now we just gotta wait for the rest to come over…”

“What is it?” Hinata asks, mouth full of the nearby snacks—you always, endlessly told her to stop doing that. At first for your personal distaste, but now mainly because of Naomi, for she’s at the age where she copies everything she sees and the last thing you needed was her mimicking bad habits!

“Do you need help, Y/N? With Naomi? Or something else?? Let me know and I’ll—” Your father begins to fret; in the usual anxious way he always did whenever it involved his family. Another habit you wished to keep far away from your daughter, though you won’t deny that his enthusiasm to be the best grandfather in the world is very endearing to see. Especially since the paternal one tends to keep to himself.

“No, no, that won’t be necessary. I just called you all to play a game!”

Naomi’s eyes sparkle at the prospect.

“I wanna play mama!!”

“We will, but we still need your papa and uncle for that. Where are they…?”

“Sorry, Y/N, we’re here now.” Naoya breathes, having rushed to you after dealing with a… senseless discussion. You’d later come to know that the reason for such altercation and subsequent tardiness was caused by the innocent mistake made on the order he’d place for Naomi’s cake. (He asked for chocolate, was given strawberry. How could that even happen?!)

And while it was insignificant, easily fixable in the grand scheme of things, to Naoya whose perfectionism only worsened when it involved his family… well, this was nothing but a grave transgression.

Either way, this issue soon became a thing of the past when Ren appeared, silent as he was still disapproving of your plans, but still willing to participate. After all, who would want to pass an opportunity to tease his brother-in-law when he isn’t chosen as Naomi’s favorite?

“I CAME TO THE RESCUE, Y/N-CHAN!!!” It would be Gojo this time around, running towards you and Naomi in a way you’d think there was a fire going on. “YOUR HERO IS HERE!”

But if there’s someone Ren would love to see kicked down a notch or two more than anyone else, it would have to be Satoru. As of lately he’s been urgently needing a reality check, and this just might do the trick. He’ll make it work either way.

“Well, now that everyone’s here… I guess I’ll start explaining the rules of the game we’re going to play!” You proceed, having long accepted that the best way to deal with Gojo was… not to. “So essentially, today we’re going to learn who Naomi prefers the most. And naturally, the least.”

“The most?” Hinata repeats, raising an eyebrow. “That’s an obvious answer—”

“—me.” Everyone responded in unison, making it clearer why this game needed to happen.

“What do we need to do?” Naoya asks, and not because he’s eager to know the answer, he’s confident Naomi will choose him before anyone else; but rather because he wishes to see the poor soul she’d choose last. His heart points to Satoru, or even Hinata. He can already envision their distraught faces… ha!

“Just stand in line, one next to the other in front of Naomi. From there, I’ll ask her to run towards you and that’s it! Pretty straightforward, no?” You explain, eventually looking over Naomi. “Heard that, princess?”

“Yes, mama!” Naomi grins. She didn’t really pay much attention to the ulterior motive behind this game, after all, all that she cared about was playing and having a good time!

After your explanation, everyone took their respective positions, with the line up ending the following way: Hinata, Gojo, Ren, Naoya, and your father.

“You’re not playing, Y/N?” Eiichi, your father, asks.

“Nope, I’m going to record it.” You explain. “Besides, I know I’m going to be chosen first, so where’s the fun in that?”

Unsurprisingly, no one disagrees with your statement. Perhaps Satoru a bit; but he always loved to stir the pot.

“You shouldn’t be here.” Hinata would whisper at Gojo, giving him a subtle side-eye he responds with a mocking grimace.

“I could say the same about you, Hina-chan. You’re just going to embarrass yourself, like always.”

She frowns, ready to scold him.

“Stop it you two!” Eiichi murmurs. “There’s no reason to fight. We all know the answer anyways.”

“Do we?” Ren teases.

“Yes. As the one that loves her the most, she’s going to choose me first.” He responds.

“Ha!” Naoya laughs loudly, a reaction that has him apologizing immediately after for he held nothing but respect for your father. “I mean—”

But when it comes to war…

“No, I get it, son. It’s easy to grow arrogant in comfort.”

Your husband smirks. Who would’ve known. “Is that so? We shall see then, father.”

“Now, Naomi—remember: just run to whoever you want to go with, ok?” you whisper at her ear. She giggles, nodding along. “Alright, baby. Go stand in your place.”

And once Naomi was ready, phone prepared to record whatever ensued, you count to three—starting the moment everyone waited for with your daughter’s bubbly laughter as she dashed towards them, completely ignoring their silly attempts of persuasion, solely guided by her heart.

An effortless win is handed to your father who joyfully picks up your daughter in his arms as soon as she’s in range, hugging her tightly as he boasts his victory! While the others lament.

“Huh?!” Hinata gasps, mouth agape as she struggles to accept her outcome. “How—why—?!”

Naoya could ask the same, had all the means to so too, but instead he decides to enjoy the undeniable happiness Naomi’s relationship with her grandfather brought him, how elated he was to see his daughter being unconditionally loved. It was all too obvious, Eiichi spoiled her even more than her own parents and without the responsibilities of one—of course she was going to pick him!

Though what he could not appreciate so earnestly was coming in third in this alleged competition, her uncle being chosen right after her grandfather, who peppered her face with kisses as soon as she bumped into him. As if officially cementing he was her second favorite person in the whole wide world, rubbing it in Naoya’s face with a mischievous smile. So much for someone who didn’t want this to happen!

“Doesn’t feel that nice anymore, huh?” Hinata states with a sly smirk, rubbing salt into the wound.

“Don’t get cocky, I’m next.”

“Told you feelings would get hurt.” At the bickering of your husband and sister, Ren teases you. You playfully smack him, gesturing him to keep quiet.

Naoya would be chosen soon after, and while your husband was happy that he was still above your sister and Gojo, he still couldn’t let go of the sorrow his position brought him.

And yet, he managed it so much better than the so-called loser, a distraught Satoru dramatically threw himself to the ground to cry and complain of the supposed fraud that occurred right before his nose! Denouncing the blatant preference shown by the innocent Naomi, who curiously, and later incredulously, stared at him as he continued to throw his tantrum.

“It’s not fair!! It’s not!!” He cried. “I’m supposed to be the coolest one! The one everyone loves!!!! There’s something wrong about this—about this game!! You bribed her, didn’t you— you bought her vot—”

“Oh, shut up already!” Hinata smacks him. “Get a grip, Satoru!”

There’s a sliver of regret settling in your heart when seeing Satoru, alongside your husband and sister, somewhat affected by Naomi’s decision, but at the same time, regardless of the outcome, you knew your baby girl loved everyone alike.

Obviously there would be preference towards those she sees almost every day, but at the end of the day she’s your bubbly, adorable little mochi that harbored nothing but love for those that loved her as well.

“Did you have fun, sweetie?” you smiled, walking over to her and gently shuffling the top of her head.

“Yes, mama!” she looks up to you, toothy grin as she holds your hand.  “What do I get for winning???”

Naoya laughs at his daughter’s witticisms, her quickness to get the most out of a situation—surely, she got this from her father.

“I have a cake in the way, mochi. Would’ve been here already if they didn’t make a mistake…”

“Chocolate?!”

“Just how you like it, princess.”

“I should have the strawberry one as compensation for this—” Ren smothers Satoru before he could say anything else. “Or—or at least a slice!!”

“No! I want mama to have that cake! So only mama and I have one!” Naomi refutes Satoru, making Naoya smirk and your heart soar at the acknowledgement you’d always come first in her affection.

Unless…

“Hope I’m not too late to the party” It was the last guest of the day, the one you expected the least since he rarely entertained your invitations: Suguru, accompanied by Nanako and Mimiko whom carried two small bags, gifts for the little girl whose eyes widened, cheeks burning red, at the sight of who many would call her first love.

Coincidentally, the only other person that could give you a run for your money when it comes to Naomi’s attention.

“Hi, Geto-kun…” she’d shyly greet him, hiding behind you while doing so. It kind of reminds you of how you were with Naoya back in the day, when you finally acknowledged your feelings for him—undoubtedly, she got this from you.

“Hello, Naomi-chan.” He smiles back, leaning down to her level and unwittingly making her heart pound even faster. “I’m sorry for being late, but I brought some gifts to compensate. Think this will be enough forgive me?”

“Do you want cake? You can have mine!” Naomi smiles, and that’s when you knew it was serious for she rarely enjoyed sharing her things. Did she not reject Satoru just a few seconds ago?

“NAOMI-CHAN THAT IS NOT—!” How Satoru managed to escape your brother’s grasp was something you’ll never discern, not that it mattered much since he was subdued soon after.

Though there was one thing you were certain of, and that was how glad you were for Suguru’s tardiness, because had he been part of that silly game earlier on, Ren’s warning would’ve only become a graver premonition, leading you to deal with all of your family’s sorrow. Perhaps even hurt you as well!

Months later, here is the tea that I have to spill. Lol. I made a reader, very, very mad at me. And they left this gem:

I'm... I'm not even sure how to feel about this. On one hand, I'm flattered that I could piss somebody off to this extent with my writing. On the other, I'm sad because they didn't leave this as a comment so that we could have an amicable back and forth. Like, I KNOW my story is divisive, homie. I don't mind criticism because it helps people grow as writers. If I feel like it's good feedback, I'll take it. But if it's silly or mean, I'll call people out and be like "hey, maybe you missed the point of the story" or "I get where you're coming from, but that was a rude way of talking to me about something provided to you for free".

This is definitely a "hey, you missed the point of the story" AND a "I get where you're coming from, but that was a rude way of talking to me about something provided to you for free" bookmark.

I'm gonna guess that this was meant to stay an inside thought, but the person forgot to check the box to private the bookmark. Boo. I have these bookmarks, too, so I can keep track of things I've read. I have some bookmarks that are like, "Don't reread: Unhappy ending" or "Bad touch. Avoid." But I always keep any bookmarks that are even slightly critical private so the author doesn't see them. I don't want to hurt their feelings or crap on their work just because something wasn't to my taste; that's such a shitty thing to do to people who write for fun.

I get that the bookmarks are a reader's space, but it kinda sucks that it's public for potential new readers to see. It feels like a stain on my work. I know that more people have a good experience with this story, and that's wonderful. But a million and one positive bookmarks/comments can't completely erase the hurt of a single negative one. But that's showbiz, ain't it?

That said, it's public, so I can respond to it and clarify some things. Not that they're ever going to see it. But venting feels nice sometimes, no?

Let's just jump into it. Ignore my upset tone; I was feeling zesty.

My "prose is fine". Eh. I'll take it. I know I make grammatical boo-boos all the time.

Reader-chan is whiny. That's... that's the point. She's been plunged into a world that isn't her own after losing basically the last family she kept in contact with, and has been bullied relentlessly and even physically assaulted by the people of this new universe. WHICH the bookmarker acknowledges is "not necessarily unreasonable for a nineteen-year-old in her circumstances". Babes, then WHY are you upset about it?!

Apparently, the idea that we shouldn't physically assault people we just met, imprison them in our apartments without evidence, torment them psychologically, and KILL PEOPLE is "culturally Christian moralizing". Fascinating. We learn something new every day.

Reader-chan's belaboring the point that "Gojo isn't the *right* kind of penitent" because he DISLOCATED HER ARM AND HIP and FALSELY IMPRISONED HER. Y'know... minor, totally forgivable transgressions. I wonder why she isn't over it yet? It's a mystery.

"Literally everything she accuses him of she's already explained away herself as a reasonable response to the situation..." I'm... I'm at a loss for words, here. Because, yeah, Reader-chan does explain his behavior away. But it's not meant to be a good thing. She's making excuses for her BULLY/ABUSER. She's trying to justify it by giving it a reason for happening. Which is, y'know, something that real life abuse and bullying victims do. The bottom line is that Reader-chan NEVER should've been put in this position. There should've been an investigation, an analysis of evidence, observation in a safe environment, and a fair trial. What Gojo did to her was abuse. Full stop. There is no excusing it. Reader-chan attempting to rationalize it away does NOT make it okay. And getting mad because she doesn't forgive her abuser is not a good look.

"Literally everything she accuses him of... she herself is guilty of. Except for, like, vibes." I'm sorry, what? What things has she done that are even remotely as bad as what he's done? I'm curious. He physically assaulted her when they first met. I mean, I guess she threw a shampoo bottle at him once and tried to shove him away by his face? But a) she was responding to his harassment, and b) it's explained that she only did so because she knew she couldn't actually hurt him because of Infinity. When presented with an actual chance to slap him in the face and HURT him as punishment (after his breakdown), she refused to stoop to his level. She's not a violent person. She's too meek. Did she say a few mean things to hurt his feelings? Yes. Did she occasionally push back? Again, yes. But none of her actions even came close to being as terrible as his troglodyte behavior.

"I haven't been this angry at a fictional character in a long time." Lol.

"I think I might be insulted?" Babes, me too. Join the club.

"Read halfway through chapter 13." "I'll probably come back to this later in hopes of character development." They stopped reading RIGHT before the character development!!! Like, literally in the next chapter after that, she grows a spine and starts laying down the law and coming to terms with how she has to change to survive in her new world. She even starts to explore her altered dynamic with Gojo and soften up to him a bit. But, on that note, please don't continue reading. If something makes a person THIS mad, it's best that they forget about it. Seriously. I don't want my writing to make people angry. And this story has clearly made them angry enough to word vomit several paragraphs.

"I really want to trust this author, but I'm not sure that I do." What a cunty thing to say about somebody that they don't know. Not mindful or demure, really. I'm glad that they want to trust me. Maybe I can hold out hope that our parasocial relationship can continue to evolve? Thanks, bookmarker, that means the world to me.

Okay. Analysis complete. Target eliminated. I'm less mad now.

With all of this in mind, the bookmarker made a valid point. Reader-chan is a deeply flawed character. She's an unreliable narrator. She thinks she's morally superior. She's weak-willed and pathetic. She's a hypocrite.

But that's what a character arc is for. Like, I get that she's not everybody's cup of tea. But I wanted to give her plenty of room to grow and improve as a person. She has nowhere to go but upward.

If this had been criticism written in a comment, I'd have loved to have a conversation. Because I do think a lot of this bookmarker's frustration is just that they didn't get it. Not that they are dumb or dense, by any means. But I think there was a clear disconnect between what I was writing and what they were reading. And that sucks, because I want people to be able to be on the same page as I am. If this bookmarker was confused or annoyed by these things, how many other silent readers are as well? When I see this kind of stuff, it makes me wonder if there's an idea that I could've gotten across better or fleshed out in a way that was more digestible. I'm always looking to improve how I write this story. And I can't do that if I just sit in an echo chamber and think that everything is fine all the time. That's why feedback is so important, even criticism. As long as it's done in a respectful way. If this had been concrit, I could've been able to clarify things that they weren't sure about and alleviate some of their annoyance with Reader-chan. Or I could've gone back and edited a sentence here or there to reinforce my intentions. As it stands now, there is no conversation. And there is no resolution. Which, again, sucks.

My final thought: Stinky.

I'm going to start posting comments and bookmarks that made me happy, though. Because there are so much more of you guys out there that are so fucking awesome! Like, I cannot express enough how much this kind of negativity is an outlier in the response to REARRANGED.

I try not to focus on the bad. But it's hard when the bad takes all the wind out of your sails. So, I've started a new project to combat the negativity and keep my motivation up. Every nice comment that I get, I'll put in a Word document and print out for my scrapbook.

Because I'm a freaking nerd like that.
