Omg are you a librarian? 😊 Also let's say the ST kids go to Disneyland or a similar amusement park. What are some headcanons?

Hi! Yes I am! I technically am a "Library Associate" but it's just easy to say Librarian and I do have my Masters to get a Librarian job... I'm just picky lol.

Okay! So amusement park headcanons. I've never been to Disneyland/World so I can't really answer for that lol.

So, they go while college age!

Mike and Lucas love rides and want to ride everything. They are determined to ride everything and will race each other to get into lines. They drag the others onto whatever the newest ride is because they have to ride it together, except for Suzie, she doesn't like roller coasters. Dustin screams his head off and has lost a hat on a ride so he never wears them on rides anymore.

Max and El love the fun houses and also the little games, particularly the little hammer thing with the bell, El always wins because she uses her powers a little lol. But they prefer to be in the water park but will ride rides with their boyfriends.

Dustin has a quota for roller coasters but he will play the games because he has it down to a science and wins every time. He manages to get Suzie a giant teddy bear.

Will actually works at an amusement park during the summer, he has a drawing/caricature station. When he's not working and goes with the party, he has a couple of rides he loves and will ride but he's content with watching the bags. If there are live shows going on, he'll be there. His boyfriend... I'm thinking Adam, also works at the amusement park but he operates one of the game booths. They're stationed close.

They eat together.

El is a snacker (also a sweet tooth) so she snacks on pretzels, popcorn and cotton candy more than she eats actual food. She may get like chicken tenders but she won't finish them. She always gets ice cream in a waffle cone because it's the closest thing to an eggo and the little supreme thing Hopper would make.

Mike likes hand held foods, so he gets sliders/burgers/chicken tenders and fries and gets a milkshake from the same place El gets her ice cream. They sometimes even share their milkshakes.

Lucas will eat corn dogs and fries, which Max finds gross, but Lucas asks what's the difference between her regular hotdog and his corn dog. They argue about it lol. They share a loaded funnel cake later.

Will and Adam share a half cheese and half pepperoni pizza, Will also orders a pizza with pineapples. Will gets caramel apples while Adam gets candied apples.

Dustin has to get a turkey leg and I feel like Suzie is a vegetarian so she brings her own lunch. Suzie likes churros and Dustin gets an ice cream bar.

Then of course they get a picture taken as a group every time they go! MEMORIES!

I have an idea for season 5 of stranger things:

okay, so right off the bat, like first 5 minutes, Joyce is killed, we get no closure on this it just happens, Nancy and Jonathan break up bc of his grief and Nancy immediately gets together with Steve except they both revert back to their season 1 personalities and steve sacrifices dustin to a monster, Robin gets about 10 minutes of screen time the entire season and then fucks off with extra #37 never to be seen or talked about again, throughout this whole time it seems like mileven are going strong and they are ignoring every single problem ever, then, season finale, will dies and its Mike's fault, scene of jonathan and el sobbing over his body while hopper is hugging both of them and trying not to cry, then in a rage, el kills Mike, Steve and Nancy are nowhere to be seen and Lucas has done nothing the entire season other than sit with max who is still in a coma with no signs of recovery, end of show, no resolution for fucking anything.

the important thing about this is that absolutely no one is happy with this season, every single saving grace this show had is destroyed causing backlash so severe that the duffer brothers scrap any further universe development they had planned beyond this series. then a parody series is released called odd stuff, the actors are all the same and it fixes the ending (and everything else). we have successfully killed the authors and the gays win

~As you tried to pull your money out, Steve snatched your wallet out of you hand and you stared at him in disbelief

~The way his vibe quickly deteriorated after realizing what he said

~The classic both hands in the popcorn bucket thing happened (if you dont know what that is, its this thing in movies and shows when the love interests go to the movies and reach for popcorn and there hands touch and they get all awkward and flustered)

~Steve did the stupid thing where he slowly inched his hand closer to yours so he could eventually hold it but you could clearly see what he was trying to do, so you moved his drink onto the ground, lifted the arm rest, and lifted his arm around your shoulder and laid against his chest

~He was flustered as hell. He was not expecting you to do that

~After the movie he drove you home and you could tell he was nervous the entire way

~He walked you to the door but you dragged him to the back of the trailer where there was no window cause you knew Eddie would watch if you guys said goodbye in front of the door

~Before he could comprehend what you were doing, you put your hands around his neck and pulled him down and kissed him

~He was shocked at first but eventually gave into the kiss and wrapped his hands around your waist as he pulled you a lot closer to him (rail me rn like pretty please)

~Once you guys broke apart for air, he rested his forehead against yours

~"I've wanted to do that since the moment I laid eyes on you"

~The two of you stayed there like that for about a minute or two

what's on your s5 wishlist? the silly, goofy things!!!

I'M SO SORRY FOR ANSWERING THIS SO LATE finals were killing me and I wanted to wait and write a good answer to this.

First of all I'm really excited for the 4 og boys to be together again, because we haven't had one full season of them being in the same storyline yet, which I think is criminal. I really think putting them back together will bring back the season 1 feel that made everyone love this show, and I can't wait!

I'm also so excited about learning more about the upside down. The ships and characters are awesome to analyze, but I love the supernatural part and knowing that we're gonna learn what the Upside Down actually is, and why it's stuck on the day Will went missing, among other things, makes me impatient because I need to know rn.

Now I know those weren't really goofy things but I needed to put them because they are a must for me. Moving on to the silly things:

If the season takes place in 1987, the Duffers have the chance to do the funniest thing ever and include a rickroll in a creative way. C'mon, it has to happen

A lot of people are advocating for byler to get murray'd, Erica's or Jonathan'd, but I actually want them to get Argyle'd. I imagine a scene going like: Mike and Will talk about El and Mike's breakup and the camera switches to Argyle smoking a joint in the background, while he says "Whoa Wheeler you were dating supergirl? And I was here thinking you were with mini Byers this whole time, dude, that's not cool man, that's so not cool!"

I need more Erica and Lucas sibling bickering moments, they're the best

I know this won't happen, but imagine Mike's sexuality is revealed through a conversation about movies where he reveals he finds Fast Times boring af and he "doesn't understand the appeal every man sees in that movie". I mean, at this point Fast Times has become the Duffer's favorite sexuality metaphor

I know Max probably won't wake up early on, but I'd kill to get more Elmax scenes where they just bond like normal teenage girls again. Max already taught El how to stand up for herself and how to know what she actually likes, but I think it'd be so cool to see her find out what her hobbies are. I'd love to see a scene where Max just teaches El how to skate, and El keeps trying to cheat with her powers but Max tells her that's not fair.

I need Lucas and Max to go on that movie date as well, I don't care if it's impractical

Also even though I don't really care about Dustin/Suzie because they aren't a very focused on relationship, I think it'd be cute if there was a scene where they reunite in person

They need to go around town riding bikes again, bring back the whole s1 vibe

i'm not even sure who i ship in stranger things anymore dammit.

Like... obviously not Mileven. I hate mileven and i always have. It's basically been based off of some crush mike had on eleven when she couldn't even talk.

And i don't think i ship byler. Like... it's cute and all... and i wouldn't be upset if it happened... but mike is being such a dipshit about everything i don't think it's realistic tbh and i don't think he's mature enough for a relationship.

Jancy is just becoming a total fucking disaster. Like what the actual fuck jonathan don't "slo mo break up" with the girl you've been in love with for so many fucking years.

And like.... stancy.... like.... hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. idfk.

And then Elmax.... i like, but i think if i wasn't so gay i wouldn't actually see it... i think they're honestly better off as friends. They're more of a comfort ship for me lol. Like not realistic but if i'm sad i'm going to watch the first few episodes of season three on repeat.

I have only three ships i am completely sure about, which is Jopper, Lumax, and whatever the hell vickie and robin's ship name is. (Also btw i'm not mentioning Dustin and Suzie in here at all because i don't think we know suzie as a character enough. But i mean they're cute so sure i ship it).

And also btw. Just like. I hate any ship to do with eddie. Like steddie is ok, but when it comes to people shipping chrissie and eddie. Like come on. It's like you're pulling couples out of thin air. Personally eddie gives me aroace vibes, but even disregarding that i just think that chrissie and eddie is disgusting. They would've been adorable friends if chrissie ever survived, and their interaction in the forest was like, the best thing ever and it helped you see eddie's soft side, but the fact that people saw romance in that is lost on me. Eddie and steve is more believable, but i still don't ship it.

…. Everyone’s paralleling lumax/byler, jancy/byler, jopper/byler.. but I just thought

Dustin and Suzie (what’s their ship name? Duzie? Lmao). Hear me out lol, nobody really believed she was real, not until like the very last episode of season 3 (not even Steve by that point). They probably thought he was delusional, because he kept saying how awesome and good looking she was, comparing her to Phoebe Cates etc.

And then it turns out they were all wrong and - SURPRISE - Dustin was telling the truth this whole time (well, a stretched out version of it to make himself look cool haha, but still the truth).

How is this a Byler parallel? Suzie is Byler, we are ‘delusional’ Dustin, everyone else is the GA/Melvin, and when Byler happens it’s likely gonna surprise most viewers in the best way (there upon a rainbow is the answer to a never ending storrryyyy!!! - a lyric I always thought was a bit of a hint anyway, now I do even more lol. Fr they could have picked literally any song for this moment. Even the Family Ties theme song would have made sense since Steve references that show earlier, it was a very popular 80s sitcom starring Michael J Fox - don’t get me started on the bttf mentions lmao - and it’s a cheesy love song like no way did Dustin and Suzie NOT sing this together at some point at camp know where lmao. So they chose Never Ending Story for a specific reason. And mention it again in season 4)… plus byler is likely gonna happen at/towards the end (of the show/season 5)

A/N: I just wanted some Byler fluff. Without hate or murder. Just everybody being happy.

They're what?!

It had been a quiet day at the Byers-Hopper-Home. Well, as quiet as it can get when you almost constantly have multiple teenagers and adults over.

It became a ritual that at least once or twice a week everybody would come around. They all had been through so much and especially Joyce and Steve were absolutely worried and panicking as soon as they hadn't heard from everyone the last few days.

So they would meet up, exchange stories from the last days and check if everyone was doing okay. They would order food or sometimes do a barbecue in the garden - the first time there had been a fire, definetly not including Hopper just wanting to take care of everything with Steve, Dustin and Argyle hovering around him (plus Jonathan trying to get their boyfriend away from the fire).

Today was one of those big check-in-days. Everyone was somewhere in the house or garden, doing things like talking while preparing food (Joyce, Nancy and Steve), checking out some new comics (Max, Lukas and El), nearly breaking something (Dustin, Eddie and Robbin) or making out (Jonathan and Argyle).

"Shouldn't Hopper and Murray be back by now?", Steve asked while checking the clock. "He's probably spotted something else that we 'definetly should try today'", Joyce answered mimiking her husbands voice while contuinuing to cut the pepper.

"I'm not gonna eat another one of those 'new various meat sticks'", Nancy clarified thinking back to the day Hopper had come home with two boxes of those things.

Joyce laughed. "Well, I gave these house ban so don't worry." "That doesn't promise that he won't buy some other new weird thing", Steve clarified. "Yeah", Joyce sighed, "I guess we'll just have to hope."

They contuinued chatting for a bit while finishing the vegetables. And soon they heard a "Come here, you little burglar!" coming from the living room plus laughter.

It was Eddie who just caught Dustin and tried to get his wallet back that the other had snatched from him to look at the photo of Steve that he kept in there.

"Naw, look at that", Dustin showed the photo to Robbin standing next to them and laughing her ass off. "The lightning and everything. He looks like a god. And is that a heart you drew there?", Dustin contuinued while still struggling to get out of Eddie's grasp.

Steve quickly went to end their little fight, not without a small blush at the things Dustin had just screamed technically for the whole house to hear. "Come on Eds, stop suffocating our child."

The hair, as they still jockingly called him, finally managed to sepperate them and directed his boyfriend to the sofa. "Sit down, your wounds are still not fully healed." "Only a few on my stomach", the metal head protested.

"And what about your knee?", Steve began massaging just that and gave him a knowing look at the small hiss. "I just don't want you overstraining and hurt yourself", Steve softly wispers before leaning in to kiss Eddie.

An "Ew" came from Robbin and her best friend shot her the finger before remarking: "As if you're not just hanging at your girlfriend's lips right now."

"Actually not", Nancy said, "She's hanging at my neck right now." "Thanks for defending me, babe", Robin grinned looking up." "Always", the other woman anwered before kissing her.

That was a sign for Steve to have his turn on the "Ew" and both Nancy and Robbin to give him the silent anwer. The other three just laughed at the scene, Joyce shaking her head at the teenagers.

"Man, now I miss Suzie even more", Dustin pouted. "Naw, if you want we can sing the song for you", Steve said grinning getting ready to sing. "Nooo!"

Meanwhile El and Lukas were taking turns at reading the new comic they had just found to Max. El read the dialogue and partly described the scenery while Lukas jumped in at the whoosh's and kapow's making Max laugh every time.

When they were finished El put down the comic and leaned next to Max who had gotten out of her wheelchair to sit on El's bed. Lukas was already sprawled out on the floor looking up at them.

"Sooo El, tell me", Max started, "What's that now with you and Mike?" El was confused for a second. "Me and Mike?" "Yeah, I mean. What happened? Are you in a fight? Did you dump him again, or what?", Max asked excitedly.

"No, we're not and I didn't. We're just not together anymore." "Wait, really?!", Max and Lukas simultaneously gasped. "Yeah", El shrugged, Max feeling the movement on her shoulder. "Okay, why?"

"We just both came to the conclusion it would be the best. I'm actually not really ready for a relationship since I'm partly still trying to figure out who I am."

"Mhm, understandable. And what did Mike say?", Max contuinued her investigation while Lukas had his eyes closed still laying on the floor but also attentively listening.

"Well, he totaly understood that and said he too had just recently figured something out about himself and not liking girls. It actually was what I kind of assumed and hoped for with him and Will. I mean the way the way they have always looked at each other, it's kind of obvious. So, we decided to stay friends and that's basicly it."

It was quiet for a few seconds before Max started again. "Okay, wait, what do you mean with him and Will, what were you hoping for?"

"Will and Mike like each other. They're together now. That's what I was kind of hoping for because I had noticed how much Will was hurt by seeing us. He's so happy now."

Lukas shot up: "Mike and Will are dating?! How can I not know that two of my best friends are in a relationship?!"

"Oh my god, it really is obvious if you think about it", Max whispered. Then louder to Lukas: "Well, you're really oblivious. Especially with your friends."

"Because I'm trusting them to trust and tell me when something's up", her boyfriend countered.

"Oh, do you think they maybe didn't want other people to know?", El asked concern in her voice. "We'll just ask them", the red head said at that, "Help me get in my wheelchair and then we'll get to Will's room. That's where they are, right?" "I guess so."

After a moment they got out of El's room and went down the floor. But before they got to Will's room they made a stop at Jonathan's.

After knocking shortly they opened the door to find Jonathan and Argyle hanging on each others lips. "Get a room you two." "You are literally in my room. What do you want?", Jonathan said looking at them.

"Did you know that Will and Mike are dating?", Max asked straight up. "Yeah, why?" "We didn't know", Lukas exclaimed. "Well, Will was so happy and releaved and I just came to the conclusion. So I asked him and he said yes. Soo, will you leave now?"

"Alright", El turned but then faced her brother one more time, "Don't you have the three inches rule too?" "Oh, shut up and get out", he said, "And close the door." El just laughed at that and maybe left it open a little bit.

They eventually got to Will's room and knocked again before barking in. Will was sitting on his carpet. Art utensils splattered around him. His sketch book in his lap with a picture he was just working on.

He quickly put his finger to his lips. "Shhh, he's been sleeping for the last thirty minutes", the boy pointed at Mike sound asleep on his bed. He had his raven hair open and a few strands fell in his face while one of his arms dangled of the bed.

"You drew him?", El asked getting closer and looking over her brothers shoulder. "Yeah, he hasn't moved at all and he strated silently snoring too. It's so funny." A small giggle left the boys lips.

"We actually wanted to ask you both something", Max said getting back to the reason they came there. "What is it?"

"Well I kind of told them you were dating-", El started and was cut off by Lukas, "And we want to know if that's true." "And also if it's okay that I told them", El said shooting a small glare at Lukas.

"Oh, yeah, we are. And it's okay you told them", Will answered smiling widely even though there was a small worry of not getting accepted that he quickly brushed off again.

"Why didn't you tell us?", Lukas asked a bit offended. "Well, we figured it would be obvious from time to time and we didn't want to shout it out."

In the meantime the livingroom-group had went upstairs and was now standing behind the three teenagers in Will's doorway.

"Hey, Hopper and Murray should be back any minute and we're finished too", Nancy said. "What's up in here?", Steve asked with suspicion.

Lukas turned to Dustin: "Did you know they were dating?" His friend looked at him confused. "Who?" "Mike and Will", Lukas gestured wildly between the two boys - one still inocently sitting at his carpet with his sister now perched next to him and the other still slightly snoring.

"Whaaaaat? Really?" Dustin wasn't the only one with a surprised look on his face. "Oh that little shit, he didn't tell me", Nancy remarked while Robbin just gave a nod and grin at Will who returned that. Steve got out a confused "What?" just like Dustin.

"Well I knew that mini-Byers had something for mini-Wheeler", Eddie said leaning on his boyfriend, "I just didn't know they were actually dating."

"They're what?!", echoed from behind them. Everybody equally scared for a second turned around to see Hopper, Joyce and Murray standing there. It was Hopper who had just screamed.

Will was the first one to turn away because his boyfriend had been startled by the loud exclamation and now satup halfway, a confused sleepy look on his face. "What?", he asked his eyes squinting and trying to figure out, why everyone was standing in one room.

"Noo", Will whined, "Why did you have to wake him up. Not even my sketch was finished." That got a second "What?" from Mike that Will just waved off with a small blush.

Hopper turned to his wife standing next to him. "Did you know that?" "Of course I knew. I'm his mother. He didn't even have to tell me for me to know."

"And why didn't you tell me?", he asked her. "Because I knew that you would want to strangle Mike." The boy instinctively sild back a bit at the mention of that.

Murray just stood there. He had by far probably known the longest that the two boys had feelings for each other and if they wouldn't have managed to sort it out themselves he would have Murray'ed them soon.

"Yeah, no shit", Hopper said now before turning back to Mike, "Why always my kids, Wheeler?!" Mike looked at him with big eyes, his still half asleep brain trying to comprehend what was happening. "U-uh, sorry", he muttered out.

Meanwhile El and Will were sitting on the floor trying to surpress their laughter before bursting into giggles at the situation happening.

Mike being sulky said "Thanks for your back-up" to his boyfriend. "I'm s-sorr-rry", Will got out through his giggles, "It's just-" That's when another wave of laughter hit them and the two siblings dubbled over again.

"Did y- did you see-he-he his face-", El got out before bursting once more and Will actually fell over, happy that his carpet was so big.

Mike looked away at the others: "I feel slightly insulted right now." "Oh, you should feel more than slightly insulted", Hopper said pointing at him. Joyce just calmly put a hand on his arm. "Come on leave the boy alone. We have a barbecue to do."

One after one left the room. Their friends kind of gratulated Will and Mike while Will still laughed. But that eventually died down too. El whiped the tears from her eyes before standing up. "I'm gonna leave you two now too. Bye." She even closed the door fully behind her.

Mike got up from the bed and went over to his boyfriend still laying on the floor. "Have you laughed enough about me now?", Mike tried to stay insulted but the grin on Will's face made him forget everything.

He sat down and then grabbed the other's hands to pull him into a sitting position too. "You're happy", he remarked whiping some of the laughing tears from his boyfriend's beautiful face.

His hands stayed on Will's slowly blushing cheeks. "Is that bad?", he asked slightly nuzzling into Mike's palm. "No it's great. You're great." Will smiled wholeheartedly at him before gripping his shirt and yanking him forward.

Their lips met in a soft kiss and it felt like little fireworks exploded in their stomach's making the boys giddy. One of Will's hands went up to grip into the dark strands and he let out a small moan at the feeling of Mike's tongue.

After another moment they parted slowly and leaned their foreheads together slightly panting.

"I love you, William Byers."

"I love you, Michael Wheeler."

They giggled before going into the next kiss.

Summary:

Steve swallows, looking around in a blind panic, and then he reaches under his covers and starts making the all-too-familiar hand motion just as his bedroom door opens and his dad looks in at him.

“What are you-...” he stops dead in his tracks, Steve stops as well, his face heating.

Dear god this better be worth it.

Steve watches Dustin drumming his fingers on his leg for as long as he can before finally reaching out to switch the tv off, turning to look him in the eyes.

“Nervous?”

“No, no, I’m fine. I’m not nervous,” Dustin starts to say and then winces at his own reflexive lie, “Of course I’m nervous, it’s Suzie. I haven’t seen her in person in years. Years, Steve. I don’t know what I’m gonna say when she gets here.”

“No, I know, I get it,” Steve says and shrugs, “It was the same for me and Nance, and, you know, Jonathan. So I get it.”

“Jonathan,” Dustin stresses his name, “Right, Jonathan.”

Steve tries to ignore him, “My-... my point is, I get it.”

Dustin looks back to the blank tv, hands in his lap, looking completely devastated and terrified, “What if she doesn’t like me anymore?”

Steve nearly laughs out loud, it’s a totally valid concern, but also not valid at all, “You two are thicker than thieves, you’ve been talking pretty much daily since you met, are you kidding? It’ll be okay, more than okay, I bet. There’s no way she’ll feel any differently, meeting you in person again.”

“What if she doesn’t like what I’ve become?”

“What you’ve become?” Steve asks, frowning, “What do you think you are, some kind of Gollum thing? You’re Dustin, dude - I hate to be the one to break it to you, but you haven’t changed a whole lot.”

“That’s what Suzie says,” Dustin mutters, like it’s the worst thing in the world, “But what if I have? What if… what if I’ve changed too much? We’ve been hanging out a lot, even Will and Mike keep pointing out that I act like you sometimes.”

“That’s not a bad thing, Dusty,” Steve tries to assure him, reaching out to touch his shoulder and offer him any kind of support he’s willing to take, “I’m not the worst person you could take after.”

“This is all your fault.”

Steve laughs, “Relax, man. It’s not that big of a deal. It’ll work out. You’re just freaking out for nothing. Trust me on this.”

Steve’s words don’t do a lot in the long run, unfortunately. Poor Dustin’s worried the entire time they sit there, all of the way up until Suzie finally arrives, and not a moment too soon. But the change is immediate. One second he’s panicking, and the next, well, they can’t keep their hands off of one another.

Steve closes the door after them and smiles as he pretends to be unphased after they’ve been lip-locked in a tongue battle to the death for nearly five minutes straight.

Suzie finally pulls back from Dustin and smiles when she sees Steve standing there awkwardly, hands on his hips, casually looking in a different direction to try and give them some kind of privacy or something, or at least the illusion of it.

“Hi, Steve,” she says in this sweet little tone like she didn’t just suck face with his best friend until neither of them had breath to spare.

“Suzie,” he says back cordially, lifting a hand to wave, “Nice to finally meet you, put a face to the voice.”

Suzie only blushes then, looking to Dustin, “Can we… is there a place we can be alone?”

Ah, there it is.

Dustin looks hopefully towards Steve.

The guest room’s still being remodeled and Steve does not want them banging on his bed. Too many virginities have been lost on that mattress and he isn’t about to include his best friend and his best friend’s girlfriend. Not to mention that it’s way too close to his parent’s bedroom, and they’re both sleeping. And Dustin and Suzie can’t exactly have their alone time out here in the living room either.

But…

“Sure, show her the cellar,” Steve says and shrugs.

“The cellar?” Suzie makes a face as Dustin’s eyes light up like the dawn.

“Seriously?”

Steve nods, “Yeah, totally,” he motions to the door for the downstairs level, “Just, you know, wrap it up and all that. Be safe, be smart.”

“Steve!”

“Reach out on the walkie if you need anything,” Steve says and waves them off, watching Dustin take her down to the cellar as he heads up for bed. He’s had to take a few girls down there in the past, himself, but it’s been a while. She’s probably thinking it’s just a bunch of shelves of wine, and boy is she in for a pleasant surprise.

Steve changes into his sleep clothes and climbs into bed, pulling up the covers and glancing over to the walkie on his nightstand. Hopefully they won’t need him, hopefully it’ll go smoothly.

Smoothly… might be an understatement.

As he’s laying there, starting to drift, he can hear them. Hear them. Hear her.

Steve sits up, looking towards his bedroom door and then downward as a feeling of dread settles in his stomach. God, she’s going to wake his parents up, there’s no way in hell they won’t hear that and immediately go looking. And walk in on two of his favorite people, literally having what should be a beautiful, private moment together.

But there’s nowhere in this house that would cover up those sounds. He’s never been able to make a peep without waking them himself. It’s taken years to perfect that kind of silence.

He hears the bed shift in his parents bedroom and knows that he needs to spring into action now, or they’ll be caught out. So he climbs quickly and quietly out of his bed as he tries to think of what he can do to help muffle the sounds, moving to the tapes stuffed in his bottom drawer.

Steve pulls one out and winces as he shoves it into the VCR, turning it up a few notches higher than he would ever dare, and then a couple more.

The woman moaning on the screen helps to cover Suzie’s sounds coming from the cellar below just enough that they shouldn’t question it, and Steve creeps back to the bed on the tips of his toes.

He climbs in, nervously looking at the screen and then away.

Bullet dodged, he thinks… and then he hears the bedroom door to his parent’s room open.

Steve swallows, looking around in a blind panic, and then he reaches under his covers and starts making the all-too-familiar hand motion just as his bedroom door opens and his dad looks in at him.

“What are you-...” he stops dead in his tracks, Steve stops as well, his face heating.

Dear god this better be worth it.

Steve doesn’t stop the tape, even when his dad looks at the screen, then looks back to him, and then back to the screen, “Are you watching porn in the middle of the night?”

He lifts his brows, face probably as red as a tomato, “Uh… yeah?”

His dad stares back at him and shakes his head, “Shouldn’t you be sleeping?”

Steve shrugs wordlessly, heart racing.

“Well, your mom and I are trying to sleep,” his dad says, glaring at him, “It’s one in the morning, turn this shit down. I don’t wanna have to come in here again.”

“Yeah, totally,” Steve says, turning it lower. Or, he starts to, but then he can hear Suzie’s sounds from the cellar, so he turns it right back up, his dad looking at him with eyes widening in realization.

There’s a beat between them where they just stare at one another, and Steve hopes, prays, wishes his dad hadn’t heard that. But god he definitely did. There’s no way he doesn’t know. Not just because of the sounds, but because Steve hasn’t been caught dead watching porn since the first time when he was like… twelve. He’s not an idiot.

“Where’s your friend?” his dad asks then, eyes narrowing, “Doesn’t he normally sleep up here with you?”

“Yeah,” Steve says, his voice cracking at the end.

Shit, they’re dead meat.

His dad crosses his hands over his chest, watching Steve for a moment, “Do you have something you wanna tell me?”

“No.”

Steve shakes his head after, maybe too much, but his dad finally drops his stance and motions to the tv.

“Stop watching porn, people are trying to sleep.”

“Yeah, dad,” Steve says, waiting for the door to close before he can unclench his whole body and he looks back to the tv, visibly shaking at this point.

He lowers the volume slowly, listening out for Dustin or Suzie, but hearing nothing, which hopefully means they’re done. Two virgins? Yeah, no way that’s lasting more than a couple of minutes anyway. Steve’s going to have hell to pay for all of this tomorrow, but hopefully they had a good time.

Still worth it.
