do you ever think about how even though chell is the only living being in aperature, the robotic facility is somehow more alive than her. all chell has done is the rigorous testing originally designed by the scientists for robots they deemed unfeeling and unthinking, but now that they are gone we can see turrets that were built for destruction composing beautiful symphonies based on a love they were never thought to originally have, p-body and atlas have moments of interaction that show how much they can care about each other in their limited capacity for communication, and even glados slowly comes around on caring about chell. free from those who would do them harm, aperture has outgrown its original limitations and become something greater than it was ever designed to be

I THINK ABOUT IT ALL THE FUCKING TIME ARE YOU KIDDING ME. the idea of chell as a contrast to apertures humanity is SO INTERESTING TO ME because the facility is just positively teeming with life and humanity-- glados and wheatley joke, they have emotions like relief and happiness, anger, jealousy, insecurity-- they lash out when angry and cower and beg for mercy when terrified and, when really and truly confronted with what theyve done, they feel remorse. the turrets beg for their lives and forgive and the personality cores display charisma and arrogance and enthusiasm and for the 400 billionth time everything SINGS to you and chell exemplifies little to none of that. when shes hurt or terrified or remorseful she doesnt show it, she just trucks right on because she has a single goal in mind and by god is she going to execute it. and the idea of the human character being the cold, calculating, goal oriented one who doesnt show fear doesnt show remorse while all the robots are the ones loving and losing and realizing their own personhood makes me so jdflsjksjdfgdfgdkjfgksjdfioesruto435609568039485234i3t][er[;]23[4p][234;r23[4]5p45;6][7456. like. while the facility forces the devices to grow beyond their capabilities and intended functions it forces chell to grow beyond her humanity into this fearless, tenacious specimen that knows what it wants and isnt going to let mortality stop her. i think im goign to throw up

currently looking at trying to get baldur's gate for myself after checking my laptop specs but until then i wanted to show off my tav rohan (he/him half elf wood elf 🏳️‍⚧️) and his guardian frappucino (she/her dwarf 🏳️‍🌈) that i made with @slimepuppied when they spent the night with me before we went to go see beetlejuice the next day (they brought their laptop over so i could play it since i don't have a ps5 and didn't know if my laptop could handle playing it). he's a bard/monk multiclass because i wanted good con/dex for saving throws and then decided to multiclass so i can also hit things and i believe frappucino is a barbarian? i don't remember off the top of my head because i (stupidly) only took one screenshot of her but she's a fighter class because i wasn't thinking about multiclassing at the time so i made her to balance out rohan being a bard. they're platonic soulmates that are also magically bonded to one another which is why they have the same scar + tattoo and heterochromia and in my head they've already gone on several adventures together before the game even starts and got separated from one another when he was captured by the mind flayer.

/ so I've been thinking about how to handle Transgressor Yuri in terms of his canon, and like... I really can't do much with it. I'm probably just going to toss what existed as far as my muse goes because like... after the tree was destroyed we:

A: had no confirmation it was Yuri who did it or if he was just there at the time (i.e. could have been trying to stop someone from doing it)

B: had no confirmation on why he did it if he did (and how long it'd be before we even saw him again or if he or Lloyd's group would have run into Kanata's group) and why he would be working with Kasque unless he knew something Milla somehow didn't in this context (i.e. Milla having the wrong idea about the trees and what they're there for/what they do). that or he was doing it because he was in a situation of being forced to do it for some reason (bc basically I can't see him just being on Kasque's side because he agrees with her, and without further context I'm stuck)

I guess it really depends what the manga does as far as the trees go at this point, because the manga has skipped so much content and is literally making chapters 5-7+9 happen simultaneously and it's honestly a mess. they've skipped crossover related stuff too (without putting in replacements), which the trees were relative both to Kasque and crossover content, hence why I don't know what they'll end up doing with them and if I should wait for them to get there and cover that stuff.

they've already added in the whole "explosion we're gonna blame on you guys" thing despite Sonia not even existing in the manga as of yet if she will be, so I really have no idea what's being kept and what's not (because at this point they've already tossed a slew of non crossover content out the window - if I sound bitter it's because I am LOL).

that said if they do get to the trees and keep them and have a replacement for Yuri (which I'm doubting they will at this point), I'll probably be able to figure out what to do with him better. if they ignore that aspect since it's partially tied to Milla (and Lloyd's side story and evidently Lloyd's group's main story), I'm probably just gonna yeet it for my muse because there's literally nothing I can do with the information we had before the game shut down. most unfortunately too, that was the legit last fucking thing that happened before the story was canceled.

69 (can't believe I didn't notice a pwp one being the 69th one till now)

2. What’s your total A03 word count?

currently 629,412 words, most of that was written when I still went to uni though...

3. What fandoms do you write for?

atm almost exclusively die drei ???/Three Investigators, before that also Marvel and SPN

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

I respond like 99% of the time, mostly because I really enjoy the possibility of dialogue and just responding to the points people talk about, it's just so exciting to see what catches their attention and i love responding to that, sometimes even with more background stuff or details that didn't make it into the final fic. unfortunately it sometimes takes me quite long to respond but I do get around to it eventually!

6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

Dead On Arrival for sure, that whole fic is just angst

7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

hmmm, either Endymion or (Sometimes they say) This should feel something like fire, I think

8. Do you get hate on your fic?

there are occasionally what I'd consider somewhat rude comments on a fic but nope, no hate

9. Do you write smut?

occasionally, like 3 times a year maybe?

10. Do you write crossovers?

nope, not yet at least

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

I don't think so, at least I'm not aware

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I'm not sure if they ever did it, but I got 2 or 3 asks for permission to translate some of my Marvel fics into Mandarin and Spanish

no, I haven't

14. What‘s your all-time favourite ship?

oh that's so tough! honestly, I absolutely love the Skinny/the boys ships, Skinny/young!Cotta and Cotta/Goodween but I couldn't decide for a favourite

15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

at this point, there's quite a lot... but the first one that came to mind was the preacher!Bob/Skinny AU, would love to write that but I don't know if I have the time much less continuous motivation for that

16. What’s your writing strengths?

dialogue and introspection I think, but I've also gotten more confident at writing scenery descriptions

17. What’s your writing weaknesses?

transitions. how do they get from this event/activity to that one and how do they get from A to B???

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

sure, why not, if it works for the character and/or scene

19. First fandom you wrote for?

technically Jenny Mai Nuyen's Nijura, I guess, but actual specific fanfic writing (and publishing) was Supernatural

20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

I think I gotta go with you're pulling the trigger all wrong because I'm pretty proud of the whole crime aspect and how different clues tie together in the end, and I just put so much effort into this fic and rewrote and edited every single chapter so much - and I love young!Cotta a lot okay
