Honestly, Leo didn’t expect to become a guardian that day, he was sure they would ninja in-ninja out-
not ninja in-save a child, rise said child-care for that kid so much-lose the kid-find it- almost get killed by her -Try to save her - failing - face the past and jump into a place he thought he will never be in again - child get saved - they save the world Hamato style - and only then - they finally reunited -
It was just a regular Wednesday that changed everything after all.
Y’know every time I see the turtle tots playing with their original weapons I’m always flabbergasted that Splinter let Leo have a literal sword as a small child.
And then left him unsupervised with it.
Like, at least the others had blunt weapons (though still dangerous in their own right, especially Raph’s blunt tipped sais) but Leo’s katana are so easily lethal that it’s a miracle he seemed to be a natural with them. Because, if he wasn’t a natural then…oof.
It’s at least a good thing he only got one sword at first and not his usual two. Splinter would’ve needed to count his lucky days because OOF.
I know Leo wants his niece to be his future heir, but how does Raph feel about this? Is he ok with it as long as Leo doesn't take it too far?
When Irrilia was born Raph kinda expected it. She is the first born of the next generation of the Hamato family after all, but what he and Mona weren’t expecting was Leo (and also Karai) showing up at their door not even a week after their daughter was born claiming her as their heirs for the Hamato and Foot Clan and wanting to get started on preparing her for her future.
Raph and Mona put their foot down with Leo and Karai immediately, telling them that yes their daughter has a bright future ahead of her, and Raph does want her to take over the Hamato clan one day, but it’ll happen in her own time. They want their daughter to grow up having a semi normal life, enjoy being a kid (something they both didn’t really get to have growing up). They’ll train her when she’s older and she’ll learn from her parents overtime and when she’s old enough Leo will take her under his wing to prepared to be leader. Her true training will begin when she has her kunoichi ceremony, but that won’t happen until she’s 15-16. All Raph asked is that Leo does not put so much pressure and expectations on his daughter, let her enjoy her life to the fullest and Leo agrees and follows through with that promise.
