My thumbs are too meaty to select specific links and maybe a singular masterlist link + post would be easier to edit and manage.

hello !! i’m looking for a fic and hoping someone can help me :) i remember the general premise is that derek moves away by himself, i think to somewhere in Oregon or washington? and the story is centered him healing from his life traumas. stiles comes up to visit occasionally and their relationship develops. also derek volunteers at a small community library and reads a lot, and the old lady who runs it is very nosy/awesome and eventually derek ends up having thanksgiving dinner at her house w her friends and stiles finds it all amusing. i think derek also ends up going to therapy at some point. thanks for all you do for the community!!

I've been looking for one sterek fic for actual years at this point and I haven't been able to find it, so I'll just type out what I remember.

It was a Teen Wolf Sterek fic, an au with magic. Claudia either adopted stiles or was his bio mom and pretended to adopt him, but stiles had a familiar who constantly turned into dead grotesque bodies and the only person who accepted them fully (and laughed at the familiar being gruesome) was laura. laura dies somehow and derek comes in. I think laura and stiles were partners for the magic things law enforcement? I remember that they thought stiles might have killed laura/tried to pin it on him, but after lauras death derek takes over as stiles' partner. I remember one scene with lydia and maybe heather and stiles with candles? I'm pretty sure both lyds and stiles lived with claudia. by the end of the fic the familiar sacrifices itself to save stiles and his friends from the argents, and I'm pretty sure there's a scene where ally defects from her aunt/grandpa.

If anyone knows what this fic is *please* let me know!! it's been driving me insane not being able to find it.
