Things were a bit tense at the BAU because of a very sad k!dnapping and r@pe case, and to lighten the mood, you thought to invite the team over for a sleepover. You were cleaning your house up for the sleepover, getting food and sleeping situations ready as the doorbell rang. You were confused as to why somebody had already arrived, considering there was still a while before the sleepover was intended to start. You went to the door, and realized it was Spencer. It wasn't unusual for Spencer to come to your house, as he would sometimes come visit as an escape, or just to talk.

"Spencer! Why are you here so early? There's still like an hour until everyone is supposed to get here." you questioned, still opening the door for him to come in. You liked when he came over, he always knew how to comfort you. "Oh, I just wanted to come help you get everything ready, and I had nothing else to do." Spencer said as he walked in, putting his things on the counter. "Oh, okay! Could you just help me set some of the food out?" you asked, not minding a little help. Spencer didn't even reply, he just started helping. You didnt mind when he didn't talk, it was just comforting knowing he was there. You knew in the back of your mind that you had a little crush on Spencer, but figured that he wouldn't like you back, though the whole team wanted the two of you together.

After a while of setting things up, the team started to arrive. first Garcia, then Morgan, then JJ, then Prentiss. That was everybody who was coming, Hotch wanted to spend time with his family, and Gideon was, wherever Gideon goes in his free time. Everybody was gathered on the couch for a movie, Garcia in between JJ and Morgan, then Spencer in between you and Prentiss. It was a pretty tight squeeze on the couch, but everyone made it work. You turned on the movie, a scary movie. Spencer wasn't really paying attention to the movie, as he was too caught up in his brain, thinking about you. Everybody on the team knows he has a little crush on you, except you. He was far too shy to ever admit that he liked you, but it was there. Right now, all he could think about was the proximity between the two of you, the way your legs layed against his, and the way he wished that you knew how he felt. During the movie, you would grab onto Spencer's arm every now and then, or lie your head on his shoulder, which drove him insane.

The movie had ended and everybody was sleeping, you were laying your whole body on Spencer, fighting the sleepiness away. "You really need some sleep, Y/n" Spencer said, awkwardly sitting there. "I am having fun, I don't want to sleep." you protested, sitting up, you then realized that everybody was asleep, groaning, you laid back down on Spencer. "Fine." you said, crossing your arms. "Y/n.. where.. where do i sleep?" Spencer asked, nervously running his hands through his hair. "Stay here. Stay with me." you say, leaning more into him, grabbing his arm and wrapping it around you. Spencer was glad the lights were off so you couldn't see his blush ridden face. He let his body ease up, leaning into you, but not fully. "It's okay, Spencer, just calm down. It's just me." you said, closing your eyes. Just you? Just the girl he had been lovestruck over for months, he thought. "Y/n.. i really like you." he says, shocked at his own words. Your eyes widen and you plaster a smile across your face "I really like you too, Spencer." You say, planting a kiss on the side of his jaw. "Goodnight, Spencer." you say, leaning your head into the crook of his neck, allowing yourself to relax. Spencer was shocked, but still allowed himself to relax and hold you as he fell asleep. As he thought you were sleeping, he whispered, "please don't leave me, y/n." as he moved your hair out of your face to look at you, he saw a smile, he knew you heard him, but he didnt care. Spencer Reid was in love with you.

i like the headcanon he knows humans, knows some of their quirks, and how they were the first ppl the other hylian villagers called on to help stuck cows or downed wagons, lots of heavy lifting stuff

but he really hasnt seen the extent of real humans, bc the humans who were in Ordon, well, they lived in hylian society,

why would they need the adrenaline to lift a car when hylians have set up whole tools and systems in all their towns to help lift just a full bucket of water out of the well??

not to mention, i think all the humans in his village were older adults? like at least not the age theyd be doing things like parkour or going to any trampoline parks type of age,

Lol I wanna address this even tho nobody asked because I’m mad. Like ship whoever you want as yk this person said but leave it out of our tag-💀 my problems more with the fact that they tagged byler for this post than what they said but yk since they tagged us might as well respond.

Firstly, “ideas planted by your community”? Huh? Girl what- you mean our evidence? You mean our analysis and perceptions and ability to interpret what we’re watching beyond surface level? And honestly after season 4 even surface level melodramas not looking too good- Secondly, what harsh truths were brought up? The lies? Your perception of montauk? which idk sounds a lot like mike and wills relationship to me but to each their own… “they’ve been together since pretty much day one”, “they have a deep connection”, “four seasons of character development”?? Do I even need to explain? Who’s been together since day one? Right mike and will, in the beginning of episode 1 before any of the upside down shit even happens we’re shown that their relationship is different from their relationship with the other party members. A fact that’s proven time and time again throughout season 1 where we see how much more Mike is affected by Will’s disappearance(not tryna negate everybody else’s feelings or reactions but it’s clear that we’re supposed to notice Mike cares slightly more or in a different way). As for the deep connections? Season 2 shed scene ring a bell, the first one of Mike’s monologue that’s an attempt to help someone he cares about that actually works and is completely honest, deep connection boom. And that connections emphasized again in s4 with Will being able to encourage Mike and make him feel better and we already know why it’s special on Will’s side and their whole plot-line that season. Next, “four seasons of character development” im sorry what?, season 1 and season 3 maybe are the only seasons I’d consider they had that meanwhile season 4 I’d say they had character regression because tell me how Mike goes from being able to comfort El about her feeling like she’s a monster but then does a 180 not only unable to comfort her but also make her feel worse-(I’m talking about she didn’t look fine in case you didn’t catch that). Back to s1/s3, s1 where they were friends for the most part is the healthiest their relationship has ever been the entire show- like😭😭it literally just goes downhill from there. Season 2/season 3 their codependency I’m- and season 4 El feeling like she has to lie to Mike about her life and Mike unable to comfort her and also hiding his own interests from her. Like sure the bullying thing I get why she’d hide that maybe not really but El lies about so many things😭😭 she feels like she has to lie to keep up the relationship. THAT 👏 IS 👏 NOT 👏 HEALTHY 👏. Like maybe after they’ve both grown separately I’d consider it but as of now? No sir. Also let me remind you how El confronted Angela and asked her to help El keep up the pretence- SHE STILL DIDN’T FEEL SAFE OR COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TELL MIKE THE TRUTH. That’s not healthy for either of them. My byler agenda aside I still don’t think Mike and El should be together. Lastly, “the fact that Mileven IS endgame”, again I’m sorry what? Have you watched season 5? Have you read the scripts or been on set or talked to anybody working on st5 or work on st5 yourself? No? So then how is that a fact- it’s a prediction, an assumption but it’s not a fact. If after season 5 comes out and it did end up becoming true then you could use that phrase but as of now when you have no idea how season 5 is gonna go you can’t call that a fact. Mark’s always talking about finally beginning a project whenever he’s with the dreamies, so I always get reminded of this song (that’s not the only reason tho) once the “is it really starting this time?” teasing commences — even though it might pass as a “funny” quirk, the need to establish out loud that they are “restarting” or finally starting things as if from scratch, might be because of something deeper. Mark seems like the kind of guy who works hard and reminisces about his past, especially when it comes to where it all (ironically) started. He works so hard and is almost never relaxing or taking a vacation, he says he’s fine, but since I'm a workaholic as well, I can tell you guys that we always end up breaking down because of how much stuff we’re doing. So, in those overwhelming moments, I can imagine Mark looking back to when he was in Canada, being able to rest and take in all the small pleasures the world can offer, not having to worry about his image, his feelings, his needs or if he’s “korean enough” to be working as an idol (idk about you guys, but that distinction between being a pure korean vs a mixed korean would drive me insane. I’d be so upset to always have to prove myself and prove that part of my nationality), reminiscing about the times when he was full of dreams, peace, and most importantly, energy.

Renjun is a very simple and honest man; he knows what he likes, what he doesn’t and knows how to set up his boundaries. However, he’s really sensible when it comes to life (in ALL its meanings), which is why I’m reminded of this song whenever I think of him. I’m grateful for all the things Renjun has shared with us, such as his mental health, hobbies and just his personality in general. Abstract is a song that shows how much its “subject” is sensible, brave (for jumping into traffic in order to rescue the dying/already dead animal) and never seems to catch a break, while the one singing (in this case, Hozier) can only take in the sight, not being able to do anything to help. In this analogy, Renjun is the subject and his friends/family/fans are Hozier, y’all. I feel like he strives to protect those he loves, and yearns for their well being when he can’t do anything to help.

Getting back on track, I feel like this suits him given the fact that when he likes someone, he likes someone — if he feels strongly like that, it’s even more intense when it comes to his loved ones, hence the song. Jeno would do anything in the world for his partner, and that includes fighting for them, to keep them by his side even if things get incredibly tough. 

His reason to yearn would be his person, before he even managed to win them over. Jeno would yearn for a life next to his loved one, for their acceptance and approval of him — nothing would make him happier than hearing a yes from his lover.

In another life, I believe that Jaemin could’ve been living peacefully in a suburb, white picket fences and all. This song is filled with nostalgia and the wish to run away with your loved one, which painfully reminds me of Jaemin. He’s the perfect man, the perfect gentleman even, so that’d make his partner want to elope with him. However, this image of him resides only in my (and now, your) imagination — that’s why I chose this song for him. Whenever I take in anything that Jaemin does, I can help but think about how I’d feel in his shoes: he had the plan to become a doctor, did charity work, played the piano, got good grades and was handsome. Having such high standards and some fondness towards the academic way of life, would I be 100% satisfied living an idol life? The answer is no, ergo my need to choose this song for him. If my hunch about Jaem is correct, he’d be yearning for the possibilities of having another life, especially when it comes to love. From what he has shown us, he wouldn’t be the type to voluntarily want to hide his loved one — I feel like he’d want to boast to the world about them.

I interpret this song as a life the singer would like to have had with their loved one, but couldn’t since the opportunity passed, and is now cursed to live forever with their “what ifs”.

I apologize in advance to all you Chenle stans out there for bringing this up, but… IT NEEDS TO BE SAID. He fits this song so much it’s actually insane. He doesn’t have many regrets in his life (as said by the man himself), so in a world in which he’d yearn, it’d definitely be because of love, hence why his song is loml. Chenle wouldn’t be able to get over his first love, leading to countless daydreaming sessions and longing sighs. He’d reminisce about his time with the person, over analyzing everything that was said and done, remembering even the smallest things the other person said he didn’t care about. Losing something makes you realize what that thing really meant, thus creating the eternal heartache of knowing that you took it for granted — despite all the fights and wrong-doings, Chenle would never be able to forgive himself for losing the person he loved.

If there’s one quality I’d use to describe Jisung, It’d be loyalty. He’s extremely loyal towards his hyungs, and that’s why I chose this song for him. Once the dreamies weren’t a fixed unit, Jisung shared his fear of being alone, and without his older brothers by his side, he knew not of what the future had in store for him. Hence why the lyrics (this one in particular: When we were young, we were the ones // The kings and queens, oh yeah we ruled the world) and just the “desperate” vibes of the song scream Park Jisung. He loves the dreamies so much that losing them would be as devastating as losing one of his family members. We don’t get to see the clingy and soft side of Jisung as much as the boys do, but just because we as fans don’t experience it, doesn’t mean that they can’t feel it. 

There’s just not much to say besides that he loves his members to the point of sacrificing himself for them.

I couldn’t do something like this without mentioning the dark period of when Mark was removed from the unit (sorry in advance <3), so here it is! Home would be their song from when they missed Mark, and kept reminiscing about their debut and previous comeback when their leader and older brother was still there with them. The song might come from a romantic point of view, but it’s just as fitting for a friend group, therefore making it perfect to describe the dreamie’s situation.

Losing someone important is awful, especially when that person is “removed” from your day-to-day life thanks to other people’s choices — it isn’t fair, and I’m sure the boys felt this way for a long period of time until they could shine again with Mark by their side. They’ve never been better and nct dream is now on the way to become even more powerful than before, and for that I’m incredibly proud of the children they were, who maintained themselves strong and brave throughout a heartbreaking moment. The dreamies deserve the best and my heart is at ease to see that their recognition is finally arriving. They are my home, and I’m sure they are your home as well :)

very long post about cabanela. rotating that man in my head sorry

ok ive also been trying to piece together what we know abt jowd n cabanelas history and personalities since their current personalities r basically traumatised ‘laugh bc if you don’t you’ll cry’ versions.

so im guessing jowds more of a stickler for the rules whereas cabanela’s an instinctive kinda guy (a la lassiter and shawn from psych)

then we get to the relationship and trust between them. the way cabanela is convinced jowd would never do sth like that EVEN when he straight up confesses. the trust jowd has in cabanelas powers of deduction, that he tampers with the crime scene and hides evidence to stop him from investigating, and makes a plan to give him the evidence only after jowds dead.

later we see the way cabanela approaches the situation… he’s no longer as much of a wild card (and lynne also says after that incident he changed). he takes the route he thinks is the best to save jowd and dedicates everything to it

even at the expense of being misunderstood/villainised by people he loves and cares about. plus he makes sure to do it all aboveboard bc he knows how important it is that jowd is exonerated, not just free - it feels like the whole thing really sobered him up because in the end he knows it was his fault.

then we have like. post divorce era jowd and cabanela idk im thinking cabanela’s pissed bc he knows jowds lying but is frustrated at his insistence to just be executed. so he doesn’t share his investigations with jowd, and likewise all jowd knows abt cabanela’s movements outside prison is what the guards/lynne say: that he only cares abt his spotless record and moving up in the world.

and maybe the spotless record thing is a holdover from cabanela’s younger days? i can see it being a point of contention between them so itd make sense that jowd would believe that. meanwhile cabanela’s realised that the one good thing about his record is using it to climb the ladder and save Jowd.

then we have this scene, which of course makes me feel insane. that jowd the stickler for the rules is the last minute hero, while cabanela the wildcard hotshot is the one doing the legwork to set it up is such a delicious subversion to me. partners that need each other and work together or whatever. plus the idea that this is a running thing

also this thing where he just jokes about things and plays it off. it makes me crazy sorry

Honestly, I think the Alicent stans are gleeful about what the show did to Alicent's character because now they can fully indulge in their dislike of Rhaenyra (all Targaryen women because apparently, they're all evil whores who don't fit into the image of a perfect Westerosi Lady), prop up Alicent's "suffering" as something aesthetically pleasing, and fixate on Alicent being a repressed lesbian "betrayed" by her crush and how Rhaenyra is a spoiled brat who abused poor baby Alicent. Don't even get me started on the constant comparisons they make between Sansa Stark and Alicent Hightower. "ALICENT WALKED SO SANSA STARK COULD RUN!" The theme is not only worrisome but nauseating.

that seems to be the case, doesn’t it anon? i think it feels vindicating for them, due to the whole ‘she spent her entire life suffering in the name of duty and honor, she deserves a conciliation prize’ like you mentioned (maybe there’s some deeper trauma that needs to be looked into for some of them idk) as if said 'prize' doesn’t end up costing her her entire family. the way they’ve written her in the show just screams the glorification of abuse. she’s allowed to physically, mentally, and emotionally abuse her own kids in their eyes bc she too was abused, every misdeed she commits is because she was abused, etc. she isn’t allowed to just want her son on the throne despite the set-back it would do to women, she has to have some sort of sob story to make her seem more sympathetic bc women can’t just be against other women without reason (eye roll) or be antagonistic in general without reason. the queer plot-line was also not needed seeing as it was doomed to fail from the start and its existence dives deep into queerbaiting and even racist territory; subsequently, they decided to make the velaryon’s black and then completely sideline laena, rhaenyra’s actual queer love interest, in order to uplift and pair the sad white woman with her instead (which is strange since it seems like most rhaenicent shippers loath rhaenyra, but i digress). she’s not a complex character; she’s one-dimensional, inconsistent, AND the result of hypocritical writers not being able to understand that victimization doesn’t automatically mean interesting.

it also feels like half the time her stan's can’t decide if all of her suffering is bc of the men in her life, or if it’s *somehow* all rhaenyra’s fault that she was put in that position. the show has attempted to switch the power dynamics at play by aging alicent down and rhaenyra up, but it doesn’t work simply bc alicent still has more power than her as queen consort (and still spends around 10 years without otto's influence bullying and ostracizing rhaenyra, which is not how a mother terrified for her children's lives would act in the face of their would-be murderer). furthering that, the lack of critical thinking skills is blatant in this fandom and shows when they attempt to vilify the targaryen's (especially the women, yikes) because they only do so to uplift their own boring favs. show!alicent, and by extension, both media's versions of helaena, are passive characters who conform to and uphold the patriarchy, they’re the perfect type of women for incels and pick-me’s to glomp onto to ‘prove’ they’re not misogynists (see? we DO like women! (only if they’re submissive and don’t fight back ofc)).

the only comparisons between sansa and alicent would be their show characters. only the latter half of got for sansa makes any since comparison wise. she too was a character that was further victimized to make her seem more interesting and righteous in the show writers efforts to make her qitn (and also to further the bullshit mad queen dany plot line). sansa is still quite a compelling character without adding in an unnecessary rape plotline, but if they hadn’t included it the only similarities between these two women are that both are apparently redheads (nope) and bastard-phobic (debatable). that right there is where any and all similarities end. in reality, alicent is the cersei to rhaenyra’s sansa, not the other way around.

the fact that many consumers (especially the women) seem to like the adding of an abuse storyline to these characters is so gross, and really telling of how the media has construed the reaction one should have to gender-based violence (or benevolent sexism). they condemn and pity these characters for what they go through, but in the same breath, praise the writers for adding ‘nuance’ to these women’s stories. worrisome indeed.

Madlyn headcanons!

-Ashlyn calls Maddox Bub

-when everyone goes back to camp the next year, Ashlyn takes the bunk Maddox’s bed is on so that she can hold hands with her from the top bunk, and she starts writing her little notes and sending them down to her with a string. Maddox makes them a little mail box out of the wood she uses for sets so that she can send notes back. (They paint the mail box like Carl and Ellie in up)

-Ashlyn gets one of those shirts that says “I don’t need google, my girlfriend knows everything” and Maddox gets them both shirts that say “if lost return to Ashlyn” and “I’m Ashlyn” like that cute old couple with shirts that said “if lost, please return me to Dee” and “I’m Dee”

-Ashlyn says I love you first, and Maddox is so stunned she literally can’t get any words out and had a panic attack cause she wants to say it back but didn’t know what to do on the moment. She ends up asking for tips from Big Red, who is more than happy to help, and she ends up going backstage at the barn at camp and working the stage managers panel to drop a note on a string

(like they would do in the honey comb) where she tells her she loves in the note. (Including that Bug Red helped, cause who else could’ve inspired that -after all his little things like the light up sign, who else was gonna help her think of something that cute-. everyone is waiting outside and being nosey -in a sweet way- to their cute moment)

-Madlyn goes on double dates with Big Red and Andy, -I’m thinking Bandy or Brandy for their ship name, idk. Do we know if they have one and what it is?)

-Maddox becomes good friends with Big Red and bc they’re both neurodivergent they have a sort of symbiotic understanding in certain things. Big red knows all the best spots in school to go for quite. when Maddox gets overwhelmed for the first time around him he takes her to one of his spots, and some time afterwards he shows her where they all are in case she’s in a retain area of the school and needs one

-Maddox is ace and Ashlyn isn’t but she doesn’t necessarily need anything more than to have Maddox by her side and she doesn’t mind going her whole life without that side of a relationship as long as she has Maddox.

(Maddox eventually voices her worries about that when she tells Ash that she’s asexual and subsequently tries to avoid her -Ash is too good at knowing her girlfriend and finding her in a room full of people to not track her down to talk about why she’s avoiding her- it goes very well but Maddox can’t promise her reaction to stress won’t always be her running away and trying to avoid the person or thing causing it)

-For their one year anniversary, Ashlyn gets Dewey Wood to keep the camp running late (they keep it open for field trips and events during the year until camp over the summer) and she gets EJ as Val to drive them to Cali and sets up a movie night where they watch Maddox’s favorite Disney Channel original movie, Camp Rock 2 (the final Jam)

-after opening night Maddox’s mom asks why the hell she put a chunk of a tree in her room until she see’s what’s on it and they have a cute moment where Maddox gets to tell her mom Ash is her girlfriend offically. Her mom’s just happy Madison is out of the picture (she didn’t know what it was but she never liked Madison), but she’s so happy for her cause Maddox has been unknowingly gushing about Ash for weeks.

-When Maddox tells Ashlyn she’s autistic, Ashlyn does some research and gets her a little stuffed animal with the weighted beads inside it, (you can decide what animal cause I couldn’t pick between a d purple triceratops-which is what I have- and a raccoon -this one feels very Maddox I can’t explain why-) (Maddox likes the pressure of it on the side of her face for some reason)

-one of the first times she was there when Maddox was stressed and feeling overwhelmed and had darted to of the the nearest places big red had showed her, Ashlyn went after her and turned off the lights and sat with Maddox on the floor. (Eventually Maddox leaned against Ashlyn and fell asleep from being drained)

-The Balloons, sat in Ashlyn’s room until they deflated, and after that until Gina convince her that they needed to go because they were literally taking up space on her floor just sitting in their original spot. Ashlyn compromised and kept one folded in her drawer (including the note from Madison about how the way she talks about Ash is the way people talk about someone when their falling for them)

i'm gonna make a whole post on my feelings for part one bc omg i have so many, but i'll go into some detail about how i feel now.

BOOK SPOILERS ARE IN HERE (so if you don't want to know anything at all about this season/book, turn back now)

i was interested to see how things played out with eloise and pen strictly bc in the books, since LW has been doing it for so long, eloise isn't all that upset at finding out about pen being her.

but in the show, i was curious to see how they would make el and cressida work. and i think it sort of works. but my whole thing is, i can't stand c. like i get why she acts the way she does, but compare her to pen who is basically in the same situation.

pen also comes from a family that is mean to her and doesn't treat her well. she is also in competition with the ladies of the ton (and not only them but her own sisters at one point) to find a man, and yet she isn't mean. she doesn't pick on others to make herself feel bigger. her and c are basically one in the same, but the difference is that pen is internal with her negativity while c boasts herself as something more while simultaneously not feeling like she measures up.

this obviously brings into the question LW, but i think in a way pen isn't really saying anything the ton isn't already thinking. she's just making it widely known. in a way, she's the gossiper for all ppl - the rich and poor. so while yes, she can be mean in the LW columns, she's really only saying what everyone was saying to her and around her. and even then, she's also bringing herself down by reporting on herself and her family, which puts her in even more negative withstanding.

i kinda wish they would have kept c mean just for the sake of being mean, not have the audience try and pity her in a way. i think it would have been more entertaining if she was just rude bc she was never taught to be nice, rather than it being a desperate ploy to get a man before everyone else while being deeply insecure. idk. in my own personal experience, while you have bullies that are bullied themselves, which is why they act the way they do, some ppl are just destined to be dicks lol

and pen will definitely reveal herself as LW to colin, and probably her family and the bridgerton family. but i don't see it being shared with the rest of the ton only bc that kinda defeats the purpose of the show. in the books, there is the whole carriage scene, but then she continues being LW even tho colin thought they both agreed to her stopping it then and there. but regardless of that (since that won't work in the show), i think she'll reveal it right before they get married, and some form of drama will occur.

also.. and don't take my word for this since it hasn't been confirmed or anything, but i heard there's gonna be another carriage scene so……… maybe we'll get that from the books after all lol

(plus the mirror scene... plus an apparent montage of them fucking so............... i'm sat and ready)

as for what's gonna happen in part two, i have seen some spoilers so i won't say them since i highly doubt you want to be spoiled, but from the little preview they did show (plus some bts i've seen that has been going around twitter from some news network that went on the set to film them do part 2) i think like the books c is gonna confess to being LW and that's what makes pen pass out. and then she's gonna try to counter c with her own LW column calling her out, and then she'll get caught by colin. i think a variation of that is gonna play out.

i'm just hoping that by the end her and eloise are friends again. bc their scenes in this first half… i literally cried twice. especially at the "would you like to come up" part. it just hits a bit close to home in a way for me.

i just can't wait for what's gonna happen. like i need this second half NOW.

Do you have any passing tips for being stealth?

I Do but I don't want to get cancelled for encouraging passing culture or whatever but if u rly wanna know here lmao:

Disclaimer: these tips are just what have helped ME, I'm only speaking for myself and what I have observed works for me. I am a very androgynous person, I don't pass as male without trying. These tips are for people who probably haven't been on T for 8 years but probably have been on T a bit and kind of teeter the edge between passing and not. You don't have to pass to be valid yadda yadda whatever but some people want to pass and be stealth and this is for those people.

I wouldn't dream of trying to be stealth pre top surgery just bc it would have been impossible for me but there are ways to conceal binders in day to day. I'm stealth at cosmetology school and we have a very strict dress code and I wouldn't even be able to wear anything that would show a binder or that I've had surgery. So stick to clothes that cover you up - men's cut T shirts and long sleeves. I wear turtlenecks a lot bc I just personally like them but they also add a bit more coverage than a typically cut shirt.

You will probably be perceived as a queer/gay man. And (statistically speaking) you're probably into men anyway. Lean into it a bit. I don't mean act overly flamboyant or anything but people overlook feminine behaviors and traits in a man they perceive as gay. I'm dating a man so it's easy for me to just say "my partner" or "my boyfriend" to make it clear - if you're straight this is a bit difficult bc you will most likely at LEAST have people assume you're gay just due to the "feminine" behaviors you were taught your entire life. In that case you kind of have to work to unlearn those. A lot of how people perceive your gender has to do with your mannerisms.

Idk about you but I'm short af and always thought it would be a huge hindrance to passing. But it's not really! I wear platform doc martens which gives me a couple inches boost and there are insoles that can bump you up a bit too. It's not necessary though, men can be short.

Do voice training. A lotttt of trans men overlook this and think it's only necessary for trans women. No! You need to voice train if you want to pass. Stop speaking in that customer service voice too, ESPECIALLY to other men. I'd just look up voice training videos and practice on your own and then slowly implement it into daily life. It really changed the way not only how people perceive my gender but also the amount of respect other men give me. Which is sad but it's part of the game.

You will likely look younger than you are. One way to combat this is with clothing choices and hairstyles that flatter you. Don't choose a longer fluffy haircut that will make you look boyish. Choose something short on the sides and longer on the top, maybe with a fade but definitely with clippers. You can get this cut at any barbershop or salon - it's the first kind of haircut for men that they teach. Avoid unnatural colors in your hair. You can spice it up with coloring your hair for sure but I wouldn't go for bright pink or blue. (This was sad to give up for me but damn near a necessity if you want to pass. I am however just as happy with black hair with a blonde streak.)

High emphasis on the haircut. I see so many trans men get extremely feminine cuts and colors and then complain that they don't pass. Your hair is very important in how people perceive your gender. Study the difference between a pixie and a men's cut and don't dance the line. Avoid shaving your head bald - it exposes your whole face and skull shape which is also something people look at to determine gender. Get something short and masculine, think square not round shapes.

Just don't wear makeup. I know you think it helps to contour and darken your eyebrows but it doesn't. Everyone can tell it isn't natural and men rarely ever wear makeup. You may be able to get away with it in a setting like mine (cosmetology school or being a literal makeup artist) but otherwise it's only hindering your ability to pass. If you want darker eyebrows/facial hair consider dyeing it with just for men facial dye.

If you can grow facial hair, do. It's a game changer in passing. People will very rarely see someone with a mustache and think "woman." (Not to say this doesn't happen, it does, but less.) If you can't grow facial hair, don't draw it on for the love of god. I made this mistake for a while of putting makeup on the vellus hair above my lip to make it appear like a mustache and that shit looks ridiculous. Just shave it clean if it's not full enough to be an actual mustache. I myself have a really thin mustache but it's enough that it immediately signals to others that I'm a man. You can use rogaine on the face to grow more facial hair - I did this and can attest that it works. (Just be careful if you have cats, it's toxic to them.)

Last thing I'll say, is be wary of your clothing choices. You can wear some feminine things if you make up for them in other ways. For example, I love high waisted pants. I refuse to wear other pants. Therefore my pants are usually found from the women's section or I wear oversized men's pants at the waist instead of at the hip. This creates a feminine silhouette but I counteract it by wearing a baggy top that falls over the waist, covering it, OR tucking the shirt in and allowing it to be loose at the point where it tucks in (if that makes sense?) Basically think rectangle and triangle shapes instead of curvy round ones for clothes. Try to create a silhouette that slims the hips down. Also, wear clothes that fit! Don't oversize everything (I'm guilty of this sometimes but try to balance out the bottom and top halves). Oversized clothing is still better than very tight clothing that will show everything but it makes you look shorter and more round and we're trying to achieve rectangle/triangle. When I gained 40 lbs I had to really deep dive into plus size men's fashion and find all new ways to dress myself bc I was so used to being skinny and being able to wear anything I wanted while still looking masculine bc I had no curves lol. T has changed my fat distribution a Little Bit, but I still very much have hips and an ass on me and I combat this with loose, straight leg pants and a shirt that falls over the top of the butt (aka don't wear crop tops, they aren't helping you.) But yeah! You'd be surprised at how much you can do with masculine clothing. People often say masc style is "boring" but it's totally not! I love Pinterest for finding outfit inspo. You can also incorporate feminine pieces into an overall masculine outfit and get away with it if you know what you're doing.

So yeah!! Those are my tips. Hope they help someone :') I'm new to living stealth and it's kinda scary at first, you do have to subtly lie about your life sometimes. But overall I'm much happier this way and my dysphoria has drastically decreased.

first let me tell you i’ve been following for awhile now and you’re really so sweet and kind, you make my shifting journey feel less lonely (since i don’t really have shifting friends).

so as i said, i’m also a virgo so this whole thing of personally finding what works best for me in regards of shifting makes me feel really confused, like i want to follow some rules or instructions idk 😭

anyways, i've already read most of your pinned posts and i'm actually really excited about using loa to shift (i was recently thinking about manifesting entering the void and shift from there with loa, but i honestly don't know if i’m just complicating things😭). well, back to the point, is it okay if i record tapes myself with affirmations regarding shifting, void state, or both, and listen to them on loop when sleeping or doing my chores or simply in my free time?

ngl, since i got into the shifting community, back in 2022, i heard about the loa applied to shifting but i was always a little skeptical about it bc it was just hard to believe for me that just by using it i would shift suddenly (i’m just used to trust more in methodical tools like meditation or things like that haha).

any tips you think might be helpful for me? also, do you have some affirmations (or any affirmations post) that i can add to the tapes if i record them? :33

I totally feel you, when it comes to needing instructions!

This has been a problem for me too in the shifting and manifestations community as I always felt like I needed a clear recipe on what exactly to do in order to get results.

Here is the thing: You shift/manifest as soon as you "expect" a certain thing to happen. if you feel like meditation is the most logical method that could lead to success then obviously you subconsciously think that this method is going to guarantee the most success.

recording tapes with affirmations is actually a thing that many many people in the manifestation/shifting community do, and if you think they might work for you, then please go for it! ❤️

other than that I shifting doesn't necessarily need to happen through the void, I for example have manifested so much stuff in my life so far and I have never even come close to the void state. If you believe that this is something you need to do because it makes the most sense to you, then please keep going. Because trying stuff that goes against your instincts or feel counter intuitive will not bring you closer to your goals ❤️

As for instructions I can only tell you this:

Manifestation and shifting are the very same thing. If you can manifest something, then you can shift. Every single manifestation IS a shift in realities already. So you basically are already shifting all the time without doing any big methods in the first place. Keep that in mind.

and when it comes to manifestations there are only a few simple steps you need to enforce:

decide on your desire, and get specific about what it is you want (in this case: deciding you want to wake up in the void/in your DR)

understand that you control your realities. you are not victim to some higher power, you ARE the higher power. the only thing that has any say over what kind of 3D reality you are experiencing is you and your decisions.

persist through your methods.

the third step is basically every time you experience something in the 3D that contradicts what you manifested (like waking up in your CR for example) you don't get scared and demotivated, but you remind yourself of your power (step 2) until your manifestation sets in. In your case that might mean keep on listening to your tapes until you shift, or affirming that you are a master shifter etc etc. because the point is, that since only you have any say in which reality you wake up in, you are PROMISED to wake up in the one you chose sooner or later. There is literally no way around it, which is why sulking after waking up in your CR is useless, you are going to shift ANYWAY.

many people let the element of time influence their perspective. They think that if their manifestation hasn't come up after a week of affirming for example, that their manifestation has failed, or that manifesting isn't real. That literally isn't true. Time is an illusion. The only thing you only ever have is this exact moment. The past is gone and the future doesn't exist yet. The idea of time frames isn't applicable to manifestations since they don't line up perfectly and wait their turn to materialize. don't cling to a certain amount of time and decide that after to weeks of "trying" you are doing something wrong. You can't do anything wrong as long as you are reminding yourself that you are the decision maker in your physical world. 3 Weeks of no change is irrelevant because you know what you decided to happen, so you know it's going to happen regardless of what it is that you are seeing.

Okay let's not pull a Jelly 😂 talk to me about Wilson sandwich (cause I love a good Wilson Sandwich indeed :)) and I'm also interested in Courting and Contestation!

I think Jelly has the right idea lol. My evil plan is to just slowly work my way down your WIP list one at a time  😈. 

Wilson Sandwich is still in the early stages of development-- I don't know how it's going to end, and honestly I'm a little muddled on the start, too. Very much a porn without plot that I will probably accidentally end up adding plot to, bc I can't help myself. 

But it's omegaverse, with Omega Dick and Alpha all of the Wilsons. Basically Slade decides that he wants Dick and claims him, takes him home, and is like, hey (adult or nearly adult) kids, here's your new Mommy. (Who even knows where Adeline is. She might be an alpha too, but gtfo at some point. The omegaverse elements here have muddled the timeline, bc pack bonds don't allow Slade, the dominant alpha, to abandon his family for any kind of significant duration. Maybe Grant tries to go do his Ravager thing and stealing Dick is how Slade stops it? Idk.) Obviously, lots of noncon. I'm picturing the setting to be one of those worlds where, at least in some cultures, the pack omega is expected to be sexually available to all alphas in the pack (with very specific limitations. For example, breeding rights might be exclusive to the alpha that claimed them). I don't think that is necessarily the prevailing attitude in Gotham, especially among the comparatively prudish Bats, but I'm picturing it to be more common in the south, where Slade is from. Omega aren't owned outright, but there is a lot of sexism, even without the kind of direct sexual exploitation that would be common among more conservative groups. 

In any case, Slade's fucked up family embodies much of the worst of this, because they just don't know any better. I'm picturing Grant, Joey, and Rose. None of them are actively violent with Dick, given how easy it is to overpower him by sheer force of numbers, but I'm going for that line between horny and horror where they think what they're doing is normal. Slade gets Dick pregnant as soon as possible, and then proceeds to do his version of doting/wooing, but of course this is tainted by all of the kidnapping, and noncon, and handing Dick out to his kids. Joey is sympathetic, wants Dick to be happy and recognizes that this isn't gonna make that happen, but also, when in Rome, you know? He wants Dick too. Basically he just eats Dick out all the time and convinces himself that, because he's not getting off on it, he's not as bad as the others. All of them have a breastfeeding kink, but Rose takes it to an extreme. She also leans hard into the whole Mommy element, which Slade finds darling and Dick does not like. Picture Slade holding Dick down, maybe knotted on his lap, while Rose sucks on Dick's tits and rides him. And Slade is just praising them both, pleased as punch to finally be making a happy family. Of all of them, Grant is the most cruel-- he's tried to rebel, to find his own identity outside the pack, and Daddy Dearest cut his efforts off at the knees and brought him Dick instead. He constantly pushes the boundaries of what is acceptable, even in a household like this. If things ever get better for Dick, it's because Grant takes things too far and it forces everyone else to have a wake-up call and start actually listening to what Dick is saying about his own needs and boundaries (at least a little). 

Obviously, Dick is doing his best to escape at any given point, but once he gets pregnant, things get harder. Slade has bonded him, and he feels himself slowly succumbing to the bond's influence. This isn't what he's used to, but is it really so bad? Etc etc. I don't tend to write full mindbreak scenarios, so I don't think it would end that way, but who knows? Not me!

Courting and Contestation!!!

This is my take on your classic Will-figures-it-out-early scenario. Hannibal isn't at the stage of the relationship where he's ready to go to jail for Will, but also he doesn't want to kill him, so, naturally, he decides to kidnap Will and keep him in his basement. It's a lot of Hannibal wanting Will (his body, his mind, his eternal devotion, etc etc), and Will wanting his freedom. 

Historically, I have gotten frustrated with some fics with this premise because of the way Will becomes content with his imprisonment, because it means he gets to be with Hannibal. He and Hannibal are both people who can live rich lives within only their imaginations, but neither of them would be content with that for Will (imo). Hannibal wouldn't like that Will is escaping into his mind (where Hannibal can't follow), and Will has higher expectations of Hannibal as a partner than to treat him as, functionally, a beloved pet. 

So instead, they start negotiating. Will knows he can't get away with lying to Hannibal outright, to he has to really consider what Hannibal would need to do in order for him to be willing to not just enter into a relationship with him, but to become complicit in his crimes by not turning him in, if freed. Hannibal has to consider what it would take for him to actually trust that Will won't turn him in the second he lets his guard down. 

This includes reasonable things like "let's not lie to each other anymore" and less reasonable things, like "I'll let you fuck me, but only if you hunt me down in the woods and I have a real chance of getting away."

This was back when Time to Bow was the latest chapter released I think? So I mainly thought up to that point hsjsvsjsv but basically, first, they needed to know Sun and Moon beforehand, so started looking for roles they could have worked on alongside them, trying to avoid detective bc variety is more fun, but bc of the time and a lot of positions being condensed in like only one or two still landed on that lmao, so ex-detective (yeah I did research for this don't look at me SHJSSVSKCDNSVSNSVSSJ) (also that's it, that's the doodle, their design as a human for this au, that's the only decent one I'm srry Naff shsjscsnscsjshjsbs I was thinking of doing more since you wanted to see but I'm still not sure of their design so A) But yeah, as a human, they would have been a detective, ocassionally working together with Sun and Moon, the three of them eventually becoming good friends

Now, wasn't sure how to go abt the whole possesing an animatronic body bit bc in the pizza plex it can happen a lot more easily than in this setting dvsjvdsj (and there's also their celestial design oops) but I basically thought of 3 possible scenarios: since Eclipse has parts just in case and has to get them from somewhere, was considering the possibility of an animatronic body being transported to extract them or even worse, going off of that one ask, a scenario in which he does plan on keeping y/n alive after they die and, actually finding out abt the ineffectiveness of scooping them beforehand, decides to get a body built for them. Polar's animatronic design is a celestial one, so since idk what eclipse would actually do in this scenario and I'd need to justify this anyway dvsjdvnsvd let's just say that in this case he decided to go with that to make it more likely for y/n to stay with him bc of the rarity of the parts or to match or some shit idk lol. Going with either of those would mean, however, that Polaris, by accidentaly possesing the body and escaping before it can get to Eclipse, stole smth from him (the scenario in which it was supposed to be y/n's future body making it muuuch worse and I bet personal, but in the other one they'd still have stolen a good bunch of valuable parts so dvksvdkd) and soo I bet he'd be after them.  Scenario number 3 and the most unlikely, is that maybe there just happened to be an animatronic body around there somewhere for some reason vssjsvsjsvs and a celestial one at that SHJAVSNSVSMVASNV yeahh I don't think so lol But anyway, like in the original version, they'd only remember bits and pieces from before they died, but in this case I think they might be able to put together that they at least had worked closely with the police at some point, aaand, even if they can't remember who or anything specific, that a cop tried to kill them (killed them but they don't know that vdjdvj) So, I'm guessing they'd end up going into hiding just to be safe and try to figure stuff out from there

Bc of their sense of justice and desire to help but distrust of the police, I think eventually they'd start stocking up on stolen medicine, parts & tools, and the like to be able to help (to the best of their abilities) those that need it but, for one reason or another, can't get help anywere else; after some time starting to be known by some as a safe space where one can get some medical help (and even some information and more particular supplies, but even less people would know abt that part ;) ) They probably thought abt more direct/hands on work, but decided against it to keep a low profile (specially if they actually stole from eclipse vdjdvdj)

Soo eventually they'd meet y/n through this and I imagine they'd become someone y/n might go to on ocassion

They'd probably wear smth to cover their face so their identity isn't as exposed, and here's where I got kinda stuck with the design, bc depending on the scenario it'd be how and how much it'd vary from their original one (for example, normal Polar's rays aren't retractable, so those would have to stay uncovered, but in this version they might be??? Idk) But anyway, I imagine at some point y/n might have gotten to see them without the mask or smth and, after finding out abt the rarity of parts like the celestial wire and seeing as Polar looks similar to the three celestial animatronics they know, I bet they would have gone to them before actually risking going to Eclipse, they wouldn't be able to provide them with it tho and y/n would still have to go to him (I'm... not even sure if they would know what that is vjdvdjdb it would be smart to, but idk how easy that information is to find?)

So basically, the main storyline would stay p much the same, they'd just be an added bonus lmao

I imagine y/n wouldn't mention Polar to the detectives? At least at first and not in any significant/traceable way, bc of the the way y/n works + the secrecy of it, but idk

In theory, at some point they'd find out abt eachother and eventually learn the truth abt Polar's identity, even thought they could also just not find out depending on how everything were to play out vsjdvsj idk but Polar would probably get a sense of trust and familiarity from them that contradicts the way they feel abt the police, being kinda ???? abt it

(In the scenario that the body was made for y/n, if Eclipse were to mention smth identifiable abt it, y/n could internally be like "wait, isn't that..." which could eventually lead to questions abt how they came to be if the body was in theory just that, a body)

Oh my gosh, I love them!! That's such a tragic tale but I find it very fitting for the Sleuth Jesters story!! Oh man, that would be so cool to have Polar and Y/N interacting, and even see Polar with the detectives!

This is just my two cents, but I really dig the animatronic body being meant for Y/N, commissioned by Eclipse but gets unwittingly taken by Polar!! I just find that super compelling and a story just lying in wait right there! Not to mention the lost memory!!

Spinach Asparagus Risotto

OKAY SO @tinpotterror (WHY WONT TUMBLR EVER LET ME TAG U ILL JUST SEND IT TO U)

the first thing to cover is that recipes, like real recipes in cookbooks, have been tested and written carefully, thought about and shit

I'm going to do none of that because the few recipes I have written are so full of shorthand to be illegible to anyone else, and they're only for baking

but I start with the things I need to do before you ever get the shallots for the 'sotto going

the chicken was just chicken thighs with salt pepper oil chili powder and onion powder, cooked on 400 until done and then set to the side. i nuked it in the mike to serve because chicken thighs are forgiving abt that, chicken breast less so.

the vegetables were cooked on a sheet tray at 400 for ??? until the tomatoes started to blister. It was a pound of asparagus, ends chopped off, cut into like... 1/3-1/2 inch long pieces and a pint of... grape? tomatoes cut in half. If you have thick asparagus i'd leave teh tomatoes hole, because youll need a longer cook time, but mine were really thin which Im not pleased abt but whatever

while ur cutting veg i'd chop your shallot, I go for pieces the same size as the rice grain, when I'm adding it to any rice dish, because I DO NOT like cooked onion texture and I want to lose it in there. set it aside

ur also gonna want to grate your own parmesan, i use a microplane, pregrated cheese is covered in cornstarch to keep it from sticking together and It fucks with the consistency of everything

I also cooked 4 slices of bacon and rough chopped them, set them to the side. Save the grease if you want to use it to sautee ur onions, i did bc i wanted the extra flavor. otherwise use ur oil of choice

the most annoy part was blanching the spinach? you can ABSOLUTELY just rough chop some spinach and throw that shit in after you've added the other veg, but i had a whole bunch i needed to process that I got for free from work. You get a large pot of water, boil, dump in your spinach. dump into a strainer, squeeze out some of hte excess water, but be careful it's hot as hell, and then dump it onto a sheet tray and throw it into the freezer for a few minutes. Take it out, blend or food process it, and then put it back on the tray and then back in the freezer. i know ur about to use it, in this case, but cooling it quickly helps retain the color, some bullshit to do with chlorophyll

then you can start the 'sotto. take ur bacon grease or oil, let that get hot, then add ur shallots. when they get transparent, add minced garlic, i use the jar kind because I'm VERY LAZY, give that a minute, listen to the sizzles, dump in ur optional bacon, and then u add ur rice. get the rice to stock ratios from a random recipe online, that's what I did, and then you toast that shit for a little bit. I don't really know WHY you're supposed to do this, maybe depth of flavor maybe liquid retention?? i just know that you DO and it helps or some shit.

once it's like, toasted, (I had a lot of rice and a bit too much fat so it took like five minutes), add your stock like, 1/2 a cup at a time? I don't measure, so idk if i'm actually adding 1/2? you just add a little stock, let it get fully absorbed, and then add more. when you can scrape the bottom of the pan and the like, goo stuff, stays fully in place, thats when ur good to add more. once you've added all the stock, dump the spinach puree in, if you pureed it, because it will have to come to temp. then add the veggies you roasted, then ADD the parmesean, then let it cook a bit longer to get everything together

i don't cook with alcohol really, so I don't use white wine, but i know lots of recipes do use it? i hope that ANY of this makes sense, but that's what I did!

oh yeah and then nuke the chicken in chef mike and put it on top and BAM you got 'sotto!!!

We don't really have a deadline to leave other than "sometime when the weather is nicer," but generally speaking we have about 2 months to either find a new car or fix our setup for the summer. If we can't swap it out we'll still be okay out there, it's just so exhausting to have to move our stuff around constantly to make it fit inside a Murano. We can NOT stealth camp with this setup, it's boondocking only, which makes things a lot more complex, and we can't even really fit all of the supplies we actually need with us in there at all times. We also can't take anyone else in the car with us when we've got it set up for camp, which can make things weird in a pinch at times, too.

I've posted this before, but here's a couple pics of what we're working with: the whole house from the outside, and the view from our bed when its set up. I could probably keep doing this indefinitely if it was just me, but with both of us and all our supplies in here it's pretty tricky.

I've never sold a car before, and I know mine is NOT worth the full blue book value, but if I could get even 1/4 of it I'm pretty sure we could buy an equally used van with that. But I also have never bought a car bc my dad passed this one down to me... I know you need to, like, check the frame for rust, among other things? but idk how to identify other big deal breakers.

Anyway... saw the notif for ~60 days and I just got ponderous. I'm working on some posts for Ko-Fi right now as well, thinking about what kind of art and other incentives I'll be able to keep offering from camp this summer.

I've been trying to post more on Insta, too, as much as I hate it... I've sworn off all other social media and I don't really want my tumblr attached to my IRL stuff as much as possible (i know it already is to a certain degree, i just try to keep things tidy), so I guess Insta is where I'll be for now, unless a worthy successor to DeviantArt shows up. I suppose I could make a side/art blog too, but I already have one for photography and like, mehhh Idk.

In any case, I'm very grateful not to be out there now. Here's some pics from the last few days. Michigan is getting even more snow than here because of the lake effect.

We're hopeful of coming back here next winter as well... it'd be nice to be able to stay here long term. Our friend shares our dream of being able to bring the cats here and reunite them with Bel, but it's ultimately not up to them, so we're not sure if or when that might ever come to pass.

For now, the one thing that's for sure is that we need to be able to stay mobile, and we need more space in the car. But I do think that keeping up our usual lifestyle like this is feasible. We've both been making art here, and we do it out at camp more than anywhere else. If I can figure out a good sub tier structure for ko-fi and have subscriber stuff go out once a month instead of going to the post office every time I get an order, that would be way easier. And having some money coming in would mean ebegging less. I haven't looked into air fairs/fests yet either but maybe I can sell some art there too. But again, we either have to have a bigger vehicle or some kind of home base for all of it to work. It's tricky, but no moreso than trying to get housing.

no, i dont think its an invasion, but i do think its a humanitarian crisis that is being handeled horribly by both the left and right

when i was 18ish i worked w a charity in immigration law, particularly w the refugee department helping those from southern america. id put together their asylum cases and send them forward. good people, but many horrible and desperate stories. people fleeing extreme poverty, people fleeing absolutely horrible cases of gang violence (heard plenty abt ppls relatives being disemboweled, hanged in public, etc), desperate families fleeing so their children could have better lives, desperate mothers and daughters fleeing trafficking and csa cases, the list goes on and on and on. it was heartbreaking

i think theres this conception that, idk, many of these ppl are "criminals" or "freeloaders" who just want the us to take care of them, or theres the other idea that this is some sort of staged invasion to destabilize the us, but that ain't really the case. Many, if not most, are just desperate people wanting better lives for themselves and their loved ones, and theyre desperate enough to risk their lives crossing through jungles and mountains and deserts, to use coyotes who may or may not traffick them. They sure as hell arent "freeloaders" either as the republicans would say, most of these are hard working ppl who want jobs, who get jobs, who very much contribute and pay taxes and the whole ordeal

if anything the immigration laws makes it Harder for them to contribute, bc of all the bullshit regulations like theyre not allowed to drive, not allowed to get xyz job, etc etc. which is why so many end up driving and working illegally - because they need to survive. unfortunately this makes things even more dangerous for them, bc being shoved in illegal jobs often means they are taken advantage of, underpayed, mistreated, etc etc. this also makes things harder bc these ppl, whove lived in the us for years upon years, some of them whove spend their entire lives since they were babies here, end up being "criminals" and being deported for some bullshit like a minor driving infraction

also. historically. this is very much their land. california/southern western america in particular was their land, but the whole damn country was their land before western europeans showed up and genocided everyone. i find it quite unfair to paint them as invadors when,,, well. if it werent for the american empire theyd very much have the right and ability to travel and return to the lands that some of them were displaced from, or to travel as they used to. these borders between america and the southern american states are not nature, theyre not set in stone, and they got made in the wake of a brutal, brutal history

its not nearly as easy as saying "why dont they migrate legally" either. many of these ppl are poor, many are in desperate situations which theyre trying to leave as soon as they can, and the immigration system is Very hard to get through. very hard. last i was working the backlog for immigration cases spanned 5-20 years, its absolutely Insane how hard it is to get citizenship here when you come from the south. Even for those who have daca or the dreamers act its stupidly, ridiculously hard for them to get citizenship in a country theyve been living in at times their whole lives, or decades upon decades

,,,,,this entire narrative is largely what is said of romanian and bulgarian workers in western europe as well. that theres too many, that its fucking western europe up, that were thieves of jobs, uncultured, we need to get out, and whatever the fuck else. except western europe wouldnt run without the labour, the ofter underpayed or all together unpayed labor of romanians and bulgarian, so its all rather hypocritical. they want our peoples out and they hate us, they treat our workers like shit, except theyd be doomed if our ppl werent working their fields, building their houses, and taking care of their eldery. same goes for america - So Much of this place is kept running by the labour of south americans, like so much of it

and also. on top of this i think its important to remember that part of the reason why so many ppl are desperate to migrate is Because of america in the first place, because of all the endless bullshit the us has done politically in southern america largely for the sake of their own profit, because of how much they've destabilized and fucked up so much of the region, because of the rampant corporations and capitalism and economic imperialism and globalizsm which have plunged so many places into severe poverty and dispair, the list goes on and on. america sure as hell doesnt have clean hands in this crisis, so maybe they shouldnt be surprised to deal with its reprocessions

a l s o. i have a personal bias bc i really like southern americans, generally speaking, as ppl. i live in california, so there's a lot of them here too - hell theyre the majority of the population i think?. some of my favorite people in this country frankly, theyre full of humour, theyre warm and kind and welcoming, soulful people, their cultures are beautiful, their food is very, very good, and ive always felt rather at home among them

all that being said, the left is doing a horrible fucking job handling all this. many democrat held cities and sanctuary cities are a damn mess, in so many regards. the homelessness and poverty and essentially slums and all this, it is really really bad, and a refugee/immigrant crisis on top of that makes it all a lot worse. when ppl yell that its ridiculous were taking other ppl when we cant take care of our own poor and homeless, i very much understand where theyre coming from. it is ridiculous, and a damn mess. democrats going on abt how "its not a humanitarian crisis" or whatever tf to be politically correct are just being stupid. it definitely is, and its putting a strain on the already failing system. thing is, i rly do think we can solve both of these issues - this country definitely has the damn money. these arent issues of lack of money, they are issues of the absolute incompetence of democratic government in this country (cali being a good example of this) and the stupid misallocation of money, as well as money stealing, as well as a falling and clogged beurocracy which talks a lot and does nothing and passes surface level look good measures which do nothing proper. this can be handeled in a more humaine, sane, rational and productive way,,,, if theyd get their shit together. something that definitely needs to happen is a reworking of the immigration system and law - so many ppl wouldnt be trying to enter "illegally" if it wasnt so stupidly hard to get citizenship or even a visa legally

..,,, and on the question of if us tax payer dollars should be spend for these ppl I think, first off, we dont need to raise taxes we just need to better use the tax money already there, and second off...... i think ppl need to spend a little bit more time putting themselves into others shoes. imagining what itd be like if they and their children were stuck in severe poverty with seemingly no hope or opportunities, what itd be like if they saw their own family members be killed and tortured in horrific ways, it their own lives and their childrens lives would the threathened....... wouldnt they hope someone would show enough humanity to help them? wouldnt they try to do just about anything for their sakes, and the sake of their children as well? i reckon they would

and. lastly. this idea of "invasion" sometimes comes w the idea that the democrats are trying to shift the vote in their favor by allowing immigrants who are gonna vote for them, but personally ehhh yea. not too sure abt that. its actually been shown that many south american immigrants are actually more conservative/republican than democrat
