It's actually so very important to me that Endo made it very clear that Yor also had her own ulterior motives for marrying Loid, and that it was clear between them that it's only a marriage of convenience.

Like, to each their own, but personally it would have not clicked for me if Loid had actually tried to make Yor fall in love with him (which he did intend to do) and she did, and for her the marriage was real, even if he fell absolutely head over heels for her later on.

Again it's the thing about how strangely honest they are with each other despite their lies and secrets, but it's also... comforting, in a way. Trusting. It gives you the feeling that Yor's side will be equally as important as Loid's, if not more, that she will be given respect and agency by the narrative.

i feel some kind of way about Rayleigh (specifically Rayleigh and Luffy but all of the strawhats to some extent)

Cause imagine going through all of those adventures with your crew and your best friend/soulmate captain, literally going to the end of the world with them, discovering the secrets of the universe, raising two kids together, and then having all of that end… and then one day one of your sons comes by your place, and he tells you about this boy, who he gave your captain’s hat to and sacrificed his dominant arm for, and he tells you that he reminded him so much of your captain (who also happened to be his father figure and your best friend)… and you’re curious, but it’s an 8 (?) year old kid halfway across the world and you decide you’ll wait and see, if it’s meant to be he’s bound to pass by there eventually.

and then years pass and you start hearing whispers about a boy in your captain’s straw hat in the news… and you meet the boy… and he really is SO like your best friend… and then the boy looses, and you do your best to help him, cause it’s him (and who knows, maybe your crew was in a similar position at some point when you were young)

and then marineford happens, and you find out that he is a brother in all but blood to a young man that could, under different circumstances, have been like a son to you (cause captain’s kid is the crew’s kid too in a kinder world)

and you know he must be broken seeing his brother die in his arms after already having suffered such a defeat in Sabaody… because Roger would have been… and you were, when you couldn’t bear to watch his execution, despite it being according to his plan

so you go, and you offer to train this kid for the journey to come, so that hopefully he and his family of friends can have a happier end is than yours did

and you spend a year and a half living with him, longer than he has gotten to spend with that crew of his, and you get to know this boy, both for his similarities and his differences to your old friend… and he grows… and then time comes for him to continue his journey… and when you say goodbye (for now?) you realize that in his growth and in your familiarity, he has become maybe even more like Roger… but perhaps he shines even brighter (and on top of that, which i didn’t even touch on here, you know that he will carry out what you and your family were too early for , all those years ago)

Peregrine Bacchus

I think this is my favorite one. Everything just looks pretty.

Dynast Peregrine Bacchus, or Peregrine the Divine, is one of two rulers of Ostrein and considered a strange mystery to most. Their unnatural magical power is unexplainable to most, and very few have seen them use it in person. Even fewer have lived to tell the tale. They arrived in Ostrein under the guise of a foreigner(which are quite rare in the isolated continent and it's surrounding islands.), and the aristocrats and nobles of Isarnan immediately took a liking to them. Within twelve years of partying and having tea with the high society of Isarnan, they were elected to the position of Dynast. Their new position was met by contempt with the lower ranks of the city, and Peregrine faced quite a few daring attempts on their life in the first few years.

Many young nobles have insisted that they have spent the night with the famed Peregrine Bacchus, but only person had truly won the heart of the golden-eyed being. Karliah Helisende. Karliah had become the Dynast's personal guard after returning home from the war, and they slowly became lovers over the course of two years. Peregrine became obsessed with Karliah, but after ten years the soon-to-be Grand Marshal broke things off, not wanting to deal with their incessant lying and secrets anymore. This was Peregrine's first lover in their indeterminable years of existing, and so couldn't understand what they had done wrong, or even if they did anything wrong. Peregrine vowed that they would be together again, no matter the cost...

Peregrine is non-binary! Just realized now that this is longer than the other ones. Oops lol

Camille Cadieux

Camille Cadieux, or Madame Cadieux, is the owner of the infamous Day-Lily, a burlesque house just on the edge of the red-light district. A type of fairy known as a Feu Follet, she is a rare beauty in the gas-lit streets of Isarnan. She considers herself a mother figure to Karliah, giving her a place to stay and encouraging her to follow her dreams when she first arrived in the city. She had most recently done something similar for Yorick when he first arrived through the portal. Despite the language barrier, she took him in and gave him a place to stay and information and criminals to kill for his blood-thirsty appetite. He had also worked as a guard for the Day-Lily, keeping slobbering drunks out and away from Camille's dancers. Camille had created a bond with him, teaching him the ways and customs of her world as she could and forming a sort of "friends with benefits" relationship with him(something Karliah was none too happy to learn about 👀)

Camille hadn't known of Karliah's relationship with Peregrine until they had broken up and Karliah had come crying to her. She had never liked the Dynast before, but hated them after that, believing the relationship should've never happened in the first place. When it comes down to it, Camille would protect Karliah from Peregrine no matter what, as long as the Grand Marshal's heart would not feel the pain of being broken again.

Camille is aromantic!

I think I need to write a fic where Steve and Eddie are both fumbling virgins and figure it out together. Sure, Steve has been with girls, but he’s no expert when it comes to being with a dude. And Eddie? Eddie is armed with knowledge and an active imagination, but that’s about as far as he’s gotten.
