Hey Shohei Ohtani is getting married!

He's a baseball pitcher from Japan and has a huge fanbase, yes cause of sports stuff, but also cause he's admittably Gorgeous and has eligible bachelor superstar Icon status.

And he's announced his engagement to a woman he won't name (although people have many theories out there.)

But I just wanted to take the time to say the people who love Shohei,.. keep it fun 🫵

Because maybe less than a year ago we had another announcement, Yuzuru Hanyu got married.

Beloved figure skating icon, the inspiration for the character Yuuri Katsuki, generally agreed upon heartthrob.

And he got married and received a lot of joking jealous messages,., And then a lot that were Not jokes.

Just a whole campaign of people saying noooo whyy you can't do this, private messages and letters, the media following them everywhere, the media actively STALKING the couple and digging things up about his wife and her past and her life.

And then because Yuzuru Hanyu loved his wife, he divorced her. To protect her and release her from all that pressure.

And that's the end.

Well now that occurred, I have been seeing a lot of comments under Shohei's stuff and it's mostly lighthearted.,, But it looks a Little too familiar for my tastes.

Kind of the same tone of last time, and lots of conspiracy stuff of who the woman is.

And just wanted to say whether or not we get a name, whether or not she's already a famous person or not,, let's leave her be!

And where you might be tempted to write "I'm so sad" "no don't take him away from me" maybe just a casual "Congratulations!" Is in order instead.

These are people! These are people doing jobs who want to have lives and be married and literally nothing bad has happened around Shohei Ohtani's announcement yet, nothing but happy news, and I want to keep it that way.

The stakeout for this mission was uncharacteristically silent. Typically he’d be insulting the demon or even the people you placated before lightly interrogating about the demon but he was silent. As were you, already aware of the conversation he no doubt had with Kagaya-sama. 

“So…I’m too much for ya is that it?” 

You let out a sigh as you could already hear the angry grumble in his seemingly calm question. You didn’t respond instead watching as the demon began to make its move, you began to move feeling the angry puffs of Sanemi’s hollering behind you.

“What? You not gonna talk to me now!? Is this too close for you, huh?!”

Practically yelling in your ear as you tried to focus on the demon’s movement, silently debating if they were aware of your presence. You concluded that they were and they were preparing to attack a nearby home to divide your attention. You took a step to descend from the roof of the building only to be stopped by the tense body of Sanemi.

“Sanemi. Move. Those people need help.”

“I’ll move when you tell me, why?!”

You sucked your teeth sidestepping the Wind Hashira. 

“I don’t have time for this!”

He pulled at your bicep wrestling you face first into the ground; knee in your back as you watch the demon ravage the people inside. You struggled against him, failing to remove him you yelled.

“LET ME GO SANEMI!”

“I WON’T! NOT UNTIL YOU TELL ME ‘WHYY?!’ WAS IT TOMIOKA? OBANAI?”

You let your cheek rest against the wood of the roof.

“It's really…because of you.”

You growled at his silence as you registered the demon moving to attack you both.

“Its because of you that I’d rather be in solitude than clean up the messes you make with your mean attitude. And your mean face! And your horrible attitude about everyone that talks to me…”

Sanemi let his mouth hang open.

“Yeah, I know about the threatening. I know about the mystery asphyxiations. Kagayama-sama may not be willing to disown the Wind Hashira in fear of what you will become but I will. And at this moment I wish to part from you forever, alright!?”

At your call, Sanemi beheaded the demon without looking. Letting you up from his hold on your back to swipe at the demon’s last attempts to stab at the both of you. Letting the demon’s screams hang in the air you let silence envelope you both once more. That is until Sanemi broke it.

“Ha! Even when you're saving my life, you reject me!”

“What did you expect? I’ve been doing that since selection.”

He let the memory replay as he let the mirror of your past self align with your current self. Grimacing at the thought he debated cutting your Achilles heel. Stopped by the unsheathed blade hanging low as if already aware of his intentions.

“Don’t think about following me. I’ll kill you if you do.”

“Right. Right. And you better come back unharmed or I won’t let this go.”

“Whatever.”

Sanemi whipped around letting his hand clutch at your face, squishing you into silence as he gave his unsettling smile.

“You. Will. Come. Back. Unharmed. Yes?”

You reluctantly nodded being released as you watched your crow's circle overhead.

You need to specify it once. If you can do that, it means you know what you want. Oftentimes people THINK they know what they want, but when asked to specify they're met with confusion.

If you know what you desire, you don't need to specify it everytime you think about it. If you don't; it's time to think about what you really want.

The only time you need details is visualisation, for example, if you want a black Porsche 911, you need to visualize a BLACK PORCHE 911, NOT a white BMW.

If you are affirming you can just say:

"I have my desired car" etc.

That's it. Because, again, you know you want a black Porsche 911.

When I first learned about manifestation I heard people say that you need to be specific because the universe will try to play tricks on you, but that's bullshit. It makes me so angry to see those wanna be manifestation coaches take thousands of dollars a month from their followers and yet they still feed them those limiting beliefs. If that's what you believe then that will harden into YOUR truth. But why would you want that? Why would you want the universe to play tricks on you?

As for your dreams I am by no means a dream expert, although I do enjoy reading about their meanings.

Dreams are your brain's way of processing information, but dreams are not meant to be taken literally. There are nightmares with incredible meanings, such as good fortune etc. and there are fun and beautiful dreams with bad meanings.

Although I can't tell you what your dreams mean, because as I said I am not knowledgeable enough on this topic, but I also don't know what those dreams are.

You could look up that dream and try to find it's meaning, but from experience I know that not every dream will have an explanation, after all, you're your own person with your unique thoughts and experiences.

Y'know i was thinking about Quinn muttering "useless sack of meat" in my playthrough and i started thinking what if his body isn't his body at all? or it's just smt that people say when they have like, no strength at all, those are just theories lol

1) he's Quinn just sadder for reasons

2) Quinn was from the beginning a demon and got sadder for reasons

3) him, a demon, killed the real Quinn and took his body because he wants to kill us, or got attached to us, or wants to rule the world, or he's all of these

4) him, a demon, didn't kill Quinn but is manipulating his mind because he wants to be Quinn? or for another reason he's manipulating him

The evening before Ren and Sequoia left Gridania via airship. The flight was rather turbulent and Sequoia had to endure this strange expierence. Sequoia never saw these flying marvels before, since all he had know was the comfort of the Skatay Range. Being of a more teasey nature he decided to overreact a bit and give Ren little surprise. While at first he surely felt like not very comfy in the air the Viera adjusted rather well, but enjoyed getting attention from Ren for being overdramatic. Unknown to Ren this behavior was the start of something wonderful.

"Ughhhhh! Never again do I set foot on an airship anymore Ren!" Sequoia shouted while leaving the Limsa Airship landing.

Whaaaa?? OI ! yelled Ren surprised.

idk if ur like open to randos in ur asks giving u media recommendations, but i would give anything in the world for u to try and give the k-novel 'return of the blossoming blade' by BIGA a chance... UR MY FAVE CONTENT CREATOR SINCE THE YE OLDEN TGCFMDZS DAYS SO I WANTED TO AT LEAST TRY LOLLL its like my favourite novel of all time and ive been trying to force it upon everyone with little avail, which i dont understand WHYY cuz its SOO GOOOD like it definitely deserves to have the same level of popularity w international fans as MDZS and TGCF had, but for now it remains a hidden gem.......... it's an insanely long novel i will nawt lie (1.5k+ chapters and updating everyday but only like 500smth have been tl'd into english on the fantl site Sky Demon Order[who also post semi-daily]) but its sosososo worth it i prommy..trust me..:smiles: it's a classic 'hero from the past who died a tragic and preventable(?) death reincarnates a hundred years into the future hiding his identity to teach the youth in order to keep the future generation from following in his footsteps and making the same mistakes he did' but without all the stale, predictable, boringness u'd typically expect from that specific genre... it's an incredibly comedic action novel that takes place in ancient china wuxia setting & focuses primarily on found family and those close familial bonds between the main cast behind all the sword fighty action (dont know how to fit this in anywhere else, but its important to me that u know the mc, chung myung, is the main casts grandpa.. hes their peepaw.. he shows affection by beating them on their heads). theres no romance at all, but i would argue that is a SELLING POINT for this novel like i swear it is so refreshing, the found family of it all means soo much to me, so much so i am now going to force it to mean so much to you too(this is a threat).... if u do gaf abt ships tho then maybe the doomed, tragic, best-friends-to-almost lovers tangchung yaoi and the love at first sight iseolsoso yuri might catch ur eye *LOOKS AT YOU* i genuinely really really feel like it would be straight up ur alley, like its definitely smth i feel would at least peak ur interest imo (chung myung, the mc, is probably my fave mc of all time..at eighty two years young, he IS the next peoples princess and i want to hit him with my car and then nurse him back to health just to hit him again.. i feel like u'd enjoy him like that as well).. im so desperate for more eng fans of this novel u cant see me rn but i am biting into a leather belt trying not to sob and cry out loud as im typing this this is so long im so embarrawsed so ill leave u here.. i hope my pleas have touched ur heart in some way and if the novel chapter count is too intimidating, ROTBB also has a webcomic on webtoons by the same name (season two of the webcomic just started ^__^ ) and the art is so good and funny and its a good way to get into the novel without being overwhelmed by the chp count methinks BUT i would definitely consider reading the novel mandatory cuz the webcomic only fills u in on so much.... ok. i hope u managed to get thru this insane wall of text, my bad.. until we meet again...*salutes* *revs up my motorcycle and disappears behind a cloud of smoke but when the dust settles i am laying dead on the floor*

"Kelly Corrigan Wonders" Podcast: Listen To Her Rupture & Repair Mini-Series

Life is easy when we all agree. And consciously or not, we tend to surround ourselves with people who have a similar worldview. The exception is family, so when Mom and Dad become 24/7 Fox News watchers, we try to get along for the sake of family cohesion, despite the crazy shit they now say.

For a lot of us, we adopt a "let's keep silent" approach to meeting others, in which there is agreement not to bring up any topics that can cause conflict.

The problem with that strategy is you often don't know the triggers of others. For example, I ordered a Bud Light one evening because it was on tap and had two people in our party threaten to leave. The other day, I mentioned Taylor Swift's historic win at the Grammys and was informed that the singer and the NFL conspired to fix the Super Bowl for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Anyone who is married or in a long-term relationship should listen to this episode. I learned a lot, and so will many listeners.

The episode where Corrigan (who is pro-choice) talks with April Lawson (who is pro-life) is a masterclass in deftly handling difficult conversations. Listen to this Corrigan - Lawson discussion, then go back and listen to the Biden-Trump debates of 2020 and tell me who is better at managing these difficult conversations. Let me finish by offering an example of how good Kelly Corrigan is, and it's not even on her own podcast. 

 In the December 14, 2023, episode of Sound Judgment, host Elaine Appleton Grant interviewed Corrigan about the skills needed to be a superb podcast host and interviewer.

In the episode, Grant and Corrigan share stories of their battle with cancer, stimulating our empathy muscle.

"I'm trying to make your listening worth it. We are asking for your attention, which is an exquisite currency, with so much coming at you," Corrigan observes.

Corrigan notes that "People have their go-to sound bites during interviews." She adds that people who are interviewed often develop an expertise about the event.

In an interview, Corrigan seeks out something not said before from the interview subject.  Corrigan wants the best from an interview subject. She explains how she goes beyond the mutually agreed-upon script to search for personal revelations. 

Then, Corrigan introduces the concept of intellectual humility, replacing conviction with curiosity because we don't know what we don't know. 

"Personal information in an interview lands for listeners," Corrigan. "It lands in the context of their life."

I am currently reading a book about the menstural cycle. Main reason why is that it was avaliable on allbok, one of the Norwegian ereaders connected to the library. I also follow not only the endometriosis and andemyosis asociations. I follow a famous Norwegian artist who has been very vocal not only about Palestine but about having Premenstural Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD.) Therefore it has been tangentially in my mind and when I saw that the book was avaliable, I started reading it.

To be quite frank, I have never thought much about my cycles. They have always been so irregular that even as I made a few halfhearted attempts because people talked so much about it, I often gave up.

Whyy measure it when nothing conclusive can be gathered from them anyway?

Why study it when I do not plan to get pregnant and would relish the idea of being undertone?

Why and how am I even going to be able to study it when my periods can last for five weeks???

Luckily, after my last round of Provera and surgery, I now have a cycle of sorts. No, I still do not measure completely, but I have an idea now. It is always sometime in the last week of the month. Which is still a pain in my uterus, to say the fucking least, but knowing it makes things easier.

Anyways. I am reading the chapter about Menopause and that it has a startphase which is called periomenopause. Which usually starts at around 35, and I.

First of I did not know that. That is. Something.

Secondly, I just fucking started having a regular cycle. I am going to be 33 in about 7 weeks, and you are telling me that my cycle is going to go back to be out of whack again soon? That is going to be my life until we stop or I rip it out?

Thirdly, I am. Feeling so many things about these things. Partially like a cat studying manmade horrors. It has been eyeopening.

And I am also feeling very angry.
