Stag (top) and Buck (middle), Wicket's partners-in-crime. they're chronically out of work and frequently make money out of scamming people. They sometimes pick up short-term work contracts to make ends meet but they hate working to other peoples' schedules so can't hack the long-term jobs factories have to offer. Wicket originally tried to rob Buck only to be stopped by Stag, but they came to an agreement... now she chases people in the dark so Stag and Buck can "rescue" them from her, counter their own shady reputation and get free shit from those grateful enough to want to repay them

(she also not infrequently still straight up steals from people)

Decided to do quick little refs for Ghost and the Chaff who were in the battle (complete with all their new scars). Been a while since I drew a cat free handed (not tracing a photo) and im really happy with how they all turned out!

Jack is meeting his 'Uncle' Stefan, the man who raised him after Greg rescued him from from the Lab. (The Council cloned Jack from Greg's (modified) DNA to make a Super Soldier prototype out of him. A powerful weapon to fight against his own kin and all other Supernaturals.) So no one really knows how much of his werewolf abilities are still active in Jack. (And no one really knows what still sleeps in Jack ö.Ö' Greg made sure to undo as much of the Council's 'modifications' as possible, but Jack is still a mystery.)

Stefan: "We think that bolt must have activated some of your supressed werewolf genes." Jack: "We?" Stefan: "Jack. Of course 'we' talk about you. There's too much of a danger for you - for all of us - to just let you unattended. We don't know what the Council might have hidden in your DNA. And we wish you'd be more open to us. Don't only ask for advice until it's almost too late, hm? And I - and Noxee too - wish you'd give Greg a chance. He's your father, after all. And my best friend." Jack: "You are my father..." Stefan sighed.

Stefan: "Anyway. We're quite sure the reason why Jeb, Vlad and Kiyoshi are attracted to you is, that - you're in heat." Jack almost fainted: "In heat? Are you kidding me?" Stefan: "It's a bit late and we thought you just skipped this, like some other werewolf traits the Council removed from you, but you're an Omega, Jack. We talked about this, remember?" No, Jack doesn't remember. They've had this conversation when he was 14 or 15. And at that age, he rather wanted to die from embarrassment than to listen to what Stefan was talking about. Stefan: "Usually we send only Omegas to the Cattle Market (this is where young adult werewolves find their pack and future partner) who are close to their first heat. You'd been an exception, since we wanted to remove you from the line of fire. And that's the reason Kiyoshi had been allowed to be your Alpha, even though he isn't a werewolf. He's your fated mate, so we thought you'd just stay together. We also think the Council dulled your ability to love, since they didn't wanted their soldiers to be attached to their 'enemies'. You'd never survived the separation from your Alpha otherwise." Jack: "So that's the reason why I never was able to feel that fated bond to Kiyoshi?" Stefan: "We fear so, yes."

Jack: "So I really don't know what love is. Kiyoshi, Lou and ... eh... These had only been mere crushes then? But why do only Vlad, Jeb and Kiyoshi feel attracted to me? And not Ji Ho and Saiwa?" Stefan: "What we think is that the others are your - kind of - pack. But other than in werewolf packs, in your pack are 3 'Alphas', the 'tops', and 3 'Omegas', the 'bottoms' (more about this -> here, below the cut). So only the 'Alphas' feel attracted to you. That bolt and your Super Soldier genes must have enhanced your Omega pheromones so other species can sense them - somehow." Jack: "Omg! How am I going to face them again!?" Stefan: "Don't worry. It's not that strong. Just like seeing someone - very - attractive. They'd never make a move and it won't affect their current relationships. It would be good, though, if you'd find an Alpha again. To keep other Alphas/Tops from trying to claim you. Here, beyond the Veil and in the Otherworld you should be quite safe. When you return to the mundane world, you need to be careful. But consider, before you allow an Alpha to claim you, it will be forever. Til death parts you. If that bolt also unlocked your ability to feel real love, you can't leave your Alpha again - and survive." Jack: "Forever, forever, ever, forever, ever?"

Stefan: "I know that's a lot to take in, hm? If you're unsure what to do or you have any questions, whatever it is, just ask us. Call me anytime, promised?" Jack: "Ouf. I really don't know what to say to all of that. But promised." Stefan: "One thing you might have also forgotten. Usually Omegas can get pregnant. We don't know if you can, the Council might have tried to 'remove' this too, but just to be sure, use condoms. Unless you want a pup." Jack: "What? Ouf. Yeah, will do. But just so you know, I gave up on love. Lou cured me."

Stefan and Jack kept on talking for a while and eventually Stefan left. Jack staggered back to Verdantis - to the others. How is he supposed to tell them about all this crazy stuff? But obviously Greg already did. Of course he did... Jack just wants to hide under his blanket and ponder about these lifechanging news. What is he supposed to do now? He grew up secluded with Uncle Stefan, to not draw the attention of the Council on him. So he never had contact to other werewolves and he'd never been overly interested in their lives and habits, since he'd been so different from anyone he'd ever known of. So all this 'Omega stuff' sounds so very weird to him... But his ever bouncing brain and his ability to just 'move' to his 'armadillo world' let him quickly forget and remembered him that he hadn't eaten for quite a while. So he joined his good mate Kiyoshi in the kitchen and started to make pizza! Since Ms Coombes and the others gave their ok that Kiyoshi and Jack can be mates, just mates - or whatever!, Kiyoshi is slowly returning from wherever the demonic/divine parts of his mind might roam when he's not here with the others. Jack: "Man, I'm so hungry!" Kiyoshi: "Me too." His look at Jack seems to say somthing else...

They gathered the others for dinner and Jack is glad no one mentions this embarrassing 'Omega stuff'! He has some really good friends.

Jack devoured a whole pizza by himself and a good half of Kiyoshi's delicious cheese. And they are all glad they are slowly navigating into calmer waters. Ji Ho has his feelings back and Kiyoshi is returning to their realm in the here and now. And thanks to their education and training here, they will soon be able to face all the challenges that await them.

To celebrate Jack and Kiyoshi's reunion, Skully threw a little party with Jack's menagerie, the Little Goats and Kumo.

And Skully and Kumo are singing loudly to 'Whole Lotta Love' from Led Zeppelin: They seem quite confident that the latest happenings bear loads of fodder for new spicy story content :3

reviving Wicket (any/all pronouns) as the Nolybab Grinner, a former house servant turned urban legend. she lost her jaw because of a tooth infection; her mouth was wired shut by her former employer who preferred that their servants be seen and not heard and the infection went unnoticed until it had run rampant and eaten its way through the bone. she lost her top teeth too the ones in her mouth there are uhh.......... calling them "prosthetics" would be incredibly generous but technically accurate

these days she runs grifts with a pair of sligs named Stag (big bro) and Buck (regular guy). their go-to op involves one party "rescuing" an innocent member of the public from being terrorised by the other and reaping the rewards in petty cash and free meals by people all too eager to repay them
