I hate dawn phenomena. As if waking up late night in itself isn’t annoying, but to be woken up by the constant beeping of a reader is worse. The alert is more of a drill that punches a whole into my skull.
I already have a nuisance of migraine episodes, and this just triggers it even more, making me stressed, causing more hyperglycemia episodes.
Enter exhaustion and endless coughs caused by irritation of my lungs and sinuses.
You’d think the raving glucose levels are enough to drive you to the brink of hell, but TO ADD CYSTIC FIBROSIS EPISODES AND ALL ITS TAIL OF OTHER COMPLICATIONS INTO THE MIX? Have mercy.
I was fine with my sleeping bacteria and gnawing pains but commmmmnooonnnnn LET A WOMAN SLEEP.
This cycle of hell is freakishly annoying and irritating.
Thank you.

This afternoon, my body really was like "I am going to give you The Symptoms. Of what? Who knows. Where? Everywhere. In several different ways. Good luck."

Hi! Thank you for the health advice! I would love to quit or significantly reduce carbs, I also feel like it's heavy on my body, but so many meals revolve around grains (sourdough bread mostly) and I guess there's a craving aspect to it too... Could you give advice on what you're eating instead?? I have lots of eggs, fish, occasional meat, plenty of fruit, just enough veg haha but i find it hard to imagine going without carbs (or grains more specifically cos I have no prob with vege carbs). Especially in winter 😋 Thank you for any help 🙏🙏
I feel like society has normalised feeling heavy and lethargic after meals, but its amazing you have noticed this and want to change!
You may want to cut carbs gradually (no starches - breads, grains, rice, pasta, potatoes).
I would recommend looking into GI index to see what foods are high glucose, following Hormone Balancing recipes, juices etc (usually very low carb and support women's health). Listening to podcasts on microbiome, or even a tiktok search.
Introducing pre/ probiotics: I make sauerkraut (which is basically cabbage / onions in water and salt left to ferment for a few days - lots of variations on this), also just made my first batch of Kefir (I stay away from store bought Kefir as its pasturised and all the good stuff has been killed off during this process). I mention these as a healthy gut is going to support you as you remove carbs and introduce more wholesome foods.
Breakfasts:
Omlette (spinach / onion / parsley )
Scrambled eggs w/ coconut oil
Buckwheat porridge w/ blueberries (buckwheat is a seed not a grain so low glucose index)
Avocado salad (seeds, olives, rocket, tomatoes, cucumber) +tahini
Snacks:
Nuts, olives, blueberries, blackberries, watermelon
Main meals:
Veg + Protein (Broccli, kale, butternut squash, courgette, carrots, asparagus, cabagge, peppers). I do different variations of veg to mix things up, sometimes i do Chinese style stir fry, I try to add garlic and ginger as much as possible into the veg. Protein is usually grass fed steak, whole fish - seabream, sea bass, mackerel, cod fillet, wild salmon fillet, or turkey breast fillet. I make chimichurri sauce to add some extra flavour to the fish.
Protein + lentil / chicpeas dish. I have a stew a few days a week to break up the veggies because they do get boring after a while.
Bone broth. I boil the bones, and have as a little side dish with veggies but this isn't really filling enough for a main meal.
I make beetroot juice, and also watermelon juice, tumeric + ginger shots throughout the week. I try to throw in flaxseed and chia seeds where possible.
I cut coffee/ decaf all that and now only drinking fresh mint tea, slice of lemon + hot water, fresh juices (within the hour of making), and water ensuring 2l per day.
Number one thing that had to go was oats. So if you are having a morning crash I suggest cutting the carbs first thing. I know there are suggestions (glucose goddess) that fat with carbs or when you eat them (having carbs after veg can help) but personally i think its best to cut them.
I hope this helps! Its a full lifestyle change that has honestly helped so much! It's a commitments, but investing in feeling good and your health will make you feel so good and wholesome! xoxoxo
*I used the free 1 month trial of MyFitnessPal app to track my calories/ meals to ensure I was getting enough food - for some this might be extreme but super helpful to see what’s going on.

💙A General Guide to Taking Care of a Disabled Darling (From a Disabled Yandere)💙
Hiya everyone! I saw someone make a guide on this and wanted to add some more in depth detail as a disabled yandere so I can give you all the best advice on keeping and caring for your darling. Admittedly as someone who's disabled, nothing makes me want to be away from someone more than someone who is ableist so if you want to keep a darling with a disability it's best to be informed. I'm going to approach this as if you are in an active relationship with someone just because that's where a lot of my perspective comes from (as well as from the perspective of my personal disabilities) but if you all want any more advice please tell me! Anyways onto the list!
(Long post below)
1.) Research, research, research
If your darling tells you what specific conditions they deal with write it down. Remember it. Anything. And when you get a spare moment, I want you to pour yourself into research for that condition and generally how disabled people are treated. If you are an able-bodied yandere, you are not immune to ableism and that is the number one thing that will push your darling away. Learn everything you can about their condition. What may help one disability may hurt another. Also if you and your darling are on good terms don't be afraid to ask questions! Take note of what personally helps them. Good example, while hot water is known to help with joint pain and muscle aches it can be really bad for disabilities that cause light headedness and vertigo like POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) so knowing what you're dealing with can give you a leg up.
As a general note, try to avoid telling them to exercise, meditate, do yoga, go on a diet, etc. If that stuff could fix out conditions we already would have done it, and for certain conditions, it can make symptoms worse. Please listen to your darling on what they specifically need. Become an expert on every facet of them and their opinions on their disability. If you're reading this you're probably a yandere so it's not exactly like research is hard for us.
2.) Have supplies on hand
Being disabled and going anywhere usually requires some level of forethought, or effort. So try making it easier by having supplies on hand. Here's a list of stuff I keep on me at all times to aid with m disabilities when I'm out in the wild!
Pain meds of choice
Instant hot packs
Instant cold packs
Hot and cold pain cream (BIOFREEZE IS EXPENSIVE BUT IT WORKS SO WELL)
Electrolyte drink or drink mix with water
Compression items for different joints
Blood pressure reader of some kind (I use a fitbit tbh)
Headphones
Sunglasses (Sun is to bright, don't judge)
Fidget toys
My mobility aid
Now this is what I personally carry on myself. What you can carry for your darling is going to vary on who they are, where they stand in your life and what their disabilities are. (Note: If you know someone with POTS and they have a flare up, being able to provide an electrolyte drink during the episode may help get you on their good side, especially if they know you as someone they can rely on for that. Don't hold me to that advice all I know is I would probably marry someone if they did that for me lmao.)
Adjust to what they personally need. There's a lot of other items that could be useful to have on hand depending on what their disabilities are, such as different types of OTC meds you could grab, specific compression items, heart rate monitors, glucose monitors, vomit bags, incontinence products, if legal marijuana products, etc. It's all based on what they struggle with which is why step one is research. You can't build a medical supply kit if you don't know what you're trying to treat.
3.) Be their advocate
This is the me lecturing you about ableism section. Your darling whether physically or mentally disabled has to put up with a LOT of bullshit. Ableism is very deeply rooted in our society, so often you're gonna see your darling in certain situations. Strangers asking whats wrong with them, people claiming they don't have what they say they have, saying their faking for attention, saying they don't really need XYZ support item, etc. You need to learn to defend your darling the correct way.
It's going to vary from person to person, from situation to situation, but your best bet is shutting shit like that down. some stranger walks up to your wheelchair using yandere and asks what's wrong with them? Tell them your darlings medical history is none of their business. Someone says their lazy for using their supports? Stand up for them. Say they need these supports and being on a fair playing field with everyone else isn't lazy. At a doctor's appointment and your darling is AFAB and the doctor's trying to blow off their symptoms? Tell them what you've seen. Ask the doc what they would do if your darling wasn't AFAB. Tell them to mark lack of treatment in charts. Make the doctors cover their asses. You in these settings are your darling's biggest resource.
But also...
4.) Learn when to shut the fuck up. Don't put your foot in your mouth.
You (if you are an able bodied yandere, which is my target demographic with this) reading this, probably struggle a lot with being ableist and don't even realize. This is where listening to others is gonna win you a lot of brownie points. Sometimes, you need to advocate, sometimes, especially in disabled spaces with your darling, you need to learn to shut the fuck up and listen. It will usually benefit you greatly to not speak over your darling in these settings because it can give you a lot of useful info on how to deepen your relationship and also not be an ass to them. In the beginning, there's going to be times where you say hurtful shit. Move your pride to the side and apologize. You are not immune to having bigoted ideals. General rule of thumb, if your darling wants to speak first, let them, you can give input afterwards. And if they specifically tell you to shut up in a certain setting because you're talking over them, shut up.
5.) Okay now for the fun stuff. Love languages!
With people who struggle with disabilities, they may express their love languages in different ways. Acts of service may carry more weight if your darling really struggles with tasks. Quality time may matter more if they're bed ridden and bored out of their mind. Here is a very general guide of love language actions for disabled darlings.
Acts of Service:
Cleaning their room for them
Doing the dishes
Taking out trash
Doing their laundry
Making doctor's appointments for them
Taking them to and from doctor's appointments
Refilling and picking up their prescriptions
Quality Time:
If they're in a pain flare, keep them company, even if it's just napping with them!
Watch shows with them if they're struggling with doing anything that requires a lot of movement.
Run errands with them, so they can have help with difficult tasks like carrying heavy objects, or talking to customer service representatives.
If they're unable to leave the house but able to move a little bit, suggest video games, board games, or some fun low energy activity together
Go to doctor's appointments with them. Like be in the physical room. You'd be surprised how much it helps if your darling wants the assistance.
Words of Affirmation:
ENCOURAGE THEM
SERIOUSLY BEING DISABLED IS SO FUCKING HARD
THEY GOT OUT OF BED TODAY? PRAISE THEM!
THEY DECIDED TO MAKE A MEAL INSTEAD OF EATING ONLY DORITOS? PRAISE THEM!
EVERYTHING THEY DO REQUIRES MORE EFFORT THAN THE NORMAL HUMAN YOU BETTER FUCKING BE PRAISING THEM FOR THAT SHIT
Physical Touch:
Okay, gonna get the caveat out of the way, some conditions will cause physical touch to be painful. Find out from your darling if that's the case. Otherwise...
Does your darling struggle with hygiene? Do they trust you enough to be naked in front of you? Shower together. Not even in a horny way, taking showers while disabled fucking sucks man. Having someone to help me wash myself helps a lot. Bonus points if shower chair is involved.
Massages. If your loved one needs a lot of creams or ointments, put them on for them, work them in carefully. If they're more pain treatments, a deeper massage may also help work those knots out. Just be careful and be gentle and slow. Listen to your darling. Pay attention to their responses. Whether they're leaning into or away from how hard you're kneading. Just communicate clearly for this. Don't hurt them on accident
Cuddles. I'm gonna be blunt. Sometimes, your darling will end up stuck in bed barely able to do anything. Cuddle them. Being stuck is so much less lonely that way. Also bonus points for nap time being a quality time thing.
Help them with "intimate" tasks they may struggle with. Showering together goes in this category but for a broader purpose, this category exists. Once again this has to have that layer of trust, but this is things like helping them get dressed, helping them feed themselves, helping them brush their teeth or manage their hair (PLEASE DO RESEARCH ON THEIR HAIR TYPE FOR THIS).
Receiving Gifts:
Help them pay for medical supplies if you can afford it. It doesn't need to be a power chair. If you want to just buy someone some ibuprofen, or a heating pad, or just like... some small item that may help them, I promise you it will matter. If they mention running low on a critical medical supply that's OTC and you have the money for, just buy it for them.
Buying them things that can keep them entertained in bed or inside the house is also a really nice thoughtful item.
STREAMING SERVICES!!! IF YOU CAN PAY FOR A SUBSCRIPTION OF THEIR CHOICE TO ANY STREAMING SERVICE THEY WANT. GIVE THEM SOMETHING TO BINGE WATCH WITH YOU WHILE STUCK IN BED.
This one is a little more tailored to me, but if your darling is like me and appreciates monthly subscription boxes with surprise items in them, consider a "spoonie" or "chronic illness" box. They are usually pretty surface level stuff but the items in them tend to be nice and veer in the self care category so it's an option to consider.
Don't give them "Get well soon cards" unless you know FOR CERTAIN that whatever is plaguing them right now can actually get well soon. Most disabilities you can't recover from. There is no "get well soon" for most of us. Don't give us a reminder of that.
Anyways! That's my list. Feel free to add onto this if you all have any other ideas. If you're ableist in my notes, I freely block and report so don't test me.
Have a nice day!
(I didn't proofread this, please cut me some slack if this is all over the place)

chirality is such a wild concept to me did you know that spearmint and caraway seeds both have the same chemical compound (carvone) but we precieve them differently because the chiral molocules bind to different olfactory receptors in our noses and mouths?
and because of like, molocular machinary in cells, all life on earth nearly universally prefer one isomer of any given chiral compound and is either much less effecient or straight up cannot metabolize the other
if you ate a teaspoon (5ml) of lab-made glucose and a teaspoon of refined corn sugar, they would taste the same, but the former would only contain half the calories, as 50% of its molocules would be biologically inert!

I had the same thing happen to me about over a decade ago before my sister's wedding. Lost 10 pounds in a week with all the constant...expulsions...look for Gatorade or similar stuff, things that can hydrate you with a bit of glucose. If you get too sick, try a hospital or urgent care or some way to get an IV drip. Good luck and hope you feel better soon.
I'm definitely on the upswing now, but that was the sickest I've been since I was 20 and my pancreas tried to keep me from finishing my thesis. But I have eaten a slice of buttered toast and polished off half a Powerade, so I think the world isn't rid of me yet.
Dehydration is wild though, man. Last night I looked down at my hands and the skin around my fingernails had all shrivelled. I went to brush my teeth and couldn't make enough spit to keep the toothpaste lathered. This was all combined with an atrocious caffeine headache because of course I couldn't keep coffee down, and weakness from days without food.
Thanks for being so understanding :) Everyone else too! I kind of pride myself on my update consistency. No one hates a missed update more than I do.
Back at it Monday! Everyone have a good NYE! Tomorrow I'm going to see if I can keep down oatmeal. Wild times!

Speaking of bugs, another idea i saw before was how medicine cats have access to honey, yet we never see how they get it. So it could be cool that, since shadowclan is knowledgeable on bugs, or windclan, since they live on the moors, the cats could take care of bees, or at least know how to locate and carefully extract honey when needed, without getting stung. Imagine, cat bee keepers. Though i dont know what else the bees could be used for.
@theblankest123
Oh you have no idea what you've done
You're about to get like 3 months of my previous hyperfixation dumped on you I hope you're ready
In a world building project that started as just a fanclan and got so bulky it ended up as a whole warrior-inspired fantasy speculative evolution story, I got so obsessed with bees that I ended up having to hunt down the wikipedia references and use sci-hub because there wasn't enough information there on vulture bees. Anyway, I'll just be talking about common european honeybees.
So, honey is made of pollen making it a plant-based product, meaning that honey has basically no nutritious value to cats. Not to mention the fact that cats can't taste sweet to begin with. This doesn't mean that bee-keeping would be of no value though; bees make all sorts of useful things
Ok, what could a Warrior do with bees?
For one, you'd be able to use beeswax for all sorts of things. In construction it's a decent binding agent (not as good as pitch though) and water-repellent. You can make trinkets out of it, like wax-based natural crayons, modeling clay. In medicine, it makes a balm for cracked skin, and is an excellent ingredient for ointments or 'capsules' to help other herbs get swallowed. RiverClan warriors could use wax to smooth their fur and swim twice as fast.
And that's not to mention honey as well. It's not widely known that honey is an excellent antibacterial agent; and it's far, far more valuable that way than wasted on soothing throats. Glucose oxidase in honey actually reacts with open wounds in a way that chemically produces hydrogen peroxide. Rubbing alcohol. How cool is that??
And, if all else fails... the cats can just eat bees. They're packed with protein. In larval form or just, killing then pulling the stinger out of a worker.
The harder part is extracting honey
Beecause, the easiest way to avoid getting stung while harvesting bees (before modern smoking tools ofc) was to burn animal dung. Cow chips were the one I read about. Can your Warriors have fire? If not, we'll have to get more creative.
Another method mentioned in medieval beekeeping texts is a specific mixture of mallow, fenugreek, and oil. The cats would have access to those things, and they don't need to have dedicated beehives to figure out such a mixture would pacify wild beehives for harvest.
There's also old beekeeping outfits which are nightmarish in a cool way. Those can be made from wicker (willow and reeds) and thick cloth (flax). That would depend on how far you're willing to allow a Warrior cat to be technologically; flax cloth and rope is pretty advanced to create

Having tried almost every diet under the sun I can give the following advice:
Body Fat Percentage of >20-25% Eat a high protein low carb diet. Go for lean protein and dont add much fat. Just enough to prevent your food from sticking to your cookware. Eat until you're full. Have all the low carb non starchy veggies you want. Also, drink more water. It's necessary if you increase your protein significantly.
Your body will quickly run out of carbs and go over to fat burning mode. As long as you're not adding much fat to your diet, your body will burn its own fat.
3/5 for speed of weight loss (I'd lose about 3-5 kg in a matter of 1,5-2 weeks)
5/5 in getting rid of cravings, bc protein fills you up like crazy and if you eat enough of it, your body will turn the protein into sugar if it really needs some, taking care of its glucose needs without sugar cravings (that process also bruns a lot of calories btw)
2/5 in terms of cost, since protein rich foods aren't really that cheap and it's harder if you're a vegetarian
5/5 in effectiveness -> this way of eating can fill you up so much without giving you that bloated distended feeling that incorprating fasting will become easy as heck. Even if you have never fasted before, after some time you'll automatically feel full for longer periods of time, cutting down your calories naturally as well as making you fast effortlessly. It's a great gateway into the weight loss scene
Good Protein Sources
Chicken, turkey, shrimp, lean cuts of beef, organ meats, 0% cottage cheese, eggs / egg whites, white fish, wild game
Non Starchy Veggies
Leafy greens, tomatoes, cucumber, bell pepper, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke, cabbage, radishes, brussle sprouts, spinach, carrots, celery, leak, onions, etc.

How likely is Anakin to build a CGM into his arm, in your opinion?
Into his robot arm? Maaaaybe. CGMs work by sticking a fiber under the skin, so he’d need access to his actual flesh. I guess he could attach it at the base of the prosthetic where it meets his bio arm, but I think it would just get in the way of maintenance/hygiene in that area. It might be possible/practical if the robot arm by nature is actively taking readings from his bio arm, or he could just mod a sensor into whatever is already hooking into his arm? I’m not sure how much we know about the robot arms.
If you mean a permanent installation in his bio arm…. This seems like it might be an appealing project to him, but I don’t know enough about limitations of long term medical inserts to know if it’d be feasible. We know in universe that permanent chips that do all sorts of wild things can be installed in people, but I think he might be opposed to going that route.
I WAS thinking about him having a storage compartment in the robot arm for extra insulin, but I think it’d be a challenge to keep it sufficiently cold. Maybe for emergency glucose storage though? And then he gets space ants

UPDATE for my followers
Needless to say I have been off Tumbler for nearly 3 months after I’d been diagnosed with having a minor stroke.  I was fortunate that I hadn’t suffered from a blood bleed from the stroke.  I did spend about 2 days in the hospital.  I still have some trouble with my right shoulder & my right hand & arm.  Fortunately I am left-handed.
As if dealing with my recovery wasn’t enough to keep me “busy” my oldest cat, Cybil, had a major seizure.  Miraculously a fried came by when I had found Cybil stiff but still breathing & she rushed Cybil to my vet.  My vet & his office manager thought Cybil should be euthanized but I convinced them to give her a couple more hours, giving her a chance to pull through.  My reasoning was due to the fact that Cybil had a serious episode nearly a year ago & the vet treated her, advising me that she would have to stay at the clinic for at least 2 days.  Miracle #2 was the call from the vet on the morning of day 2 that she was doing well & she could come home.  My “stubbornness” gave her a 2nd chance.  She is definitely a “fighter” & didn’t give up.
I took Cybil in when my next door neighbor passed away in 2012.  Cybil is somewhere in the neighborhood of 17 - 19 years old.  It seems that like me she’s not only OLD but also quite stubborn and not willing to give up.  This last incident were problems with low body temperature & low glucose.  She had been getting insulin injections twice a day but now no longer needs the insulin.  She is home now & doing much better.  Caring for her, as well as my indoor & outdoor cats as well keeps me busy.  Due to my old age & health issues my energy level is low & limits what I can & can’t do.  Spending a lot of time on Tumblr just isn’t as important as caring for the cats as well as keeping the large flock of pigeons, the many squirrels & wild birds well fed a couple of times a day.  I will, however, try to stay in touch with all of you as often as I possibly can.  I truly appreciate all of you for staying in touch and sending me your delightful posts.
