◾️ Nikita usually prefers to keep his gaze away from people unless he’s speaking, keeping his eyes down to the ground whenever he’s all alone by himself for reasons to be discussed later. but in the rare times when you finally meet his gaze then you’ll finally realise how deep yet bright of an emerald green his eyes are, almost resembling an uncut emerald. they are surrounded in thick black coloured lashes which make his eye colour pop out even more. they seem almost hypnotic in a sense, mesmerising and trapping people in those deep pools of green. however they are just as scary. whenever Nikita feels a very rare yet sudden burst of bloodlust or anger his eyes turn into a muddy, dirty green. they become more sharp and calculating, losing the lazy and carefree glint in them, even soulless as some describe. people have even pointed out how his darkened eyes resemble ones similar to a dead fish’s.
◾ suffers from myopia or nearsightedness and is therefore required to wear glasses. however he vehemently refuses to wear them, and instead goes for lens instead or none at all
◾️ *seductively takes off glasses* "wow, you are so fucking blurry."
◾️ other than his hellhounds, who he likes to call by various flower names (i.e. lily, rose, iris, buttercup and etc), Nikita also likes to create shadow ravens who serve as his messengers from the sky, thus his crow inspired mask.
◾️ apart from depression, Nikita also suffers from post - traumatic stress disorder or ptsd (courtesy of his fathers death), anorexia nervosa, bodily dysmorphic disorder and mild insomnia.
◾️ one of his main hobbies is collecting. as a kleptomaniac, Nikita usually gets quite … creative with his hobby of ‘collecting’ stuff, especially the shiny ones. he doesn't really collect much, but when he does its large in quantity and amazing in quality. his favourite things to buy + collect are music boxes.
◾️ although he's not yet ready to accept Yvette back in his life, Nikita for now, has chosen to simply avoid his confusing feelings about his mother but focusing on the mission in hand (but still he's saved her contact as "Deadbeat Mom" in his phone)
◾️ in terms of love, oh boy, Nikita is super dense, so he probably wouldn't even realize he's got a crush until somebody slaps him across the face figuratively by telling him straight - up clearly by stating facts even he can't deny or some miracle of an epiphany strikes him out of nowhere – when he's still oblivious he'd probably be more docile and kinder towards the crush, probably being slightly overprotective and flirting without knowing it. when he's not-so-oblivious anymore, cue the flusteredness and avoidance because he's embarrassed! let the drama ensue!
◾️ he chose "Elysium Cleanup Crew" as the group name, mainly because he wasn't ready to start another war in the group chat about the names, plus it seemed the most logical to him then, in his still sleep muddled brain

Something's Wrong with Sunny Day Jack - 2.0 Demo ( V.0.2 )

We weren't able to hit our CG target, because we're looking to heighten the quality to a degree where getting the CGs out isn't as quick a process as before. But we're chugging along, laying down the groundwork!
And this time, we've decided to share our progress with all of you!
The Patreon post with the download link is FREE, and we'll be circulating it and some cool behind-the-scenes Kickstarter content once we're done stringing together the updates from our programmer AND our GUI artist!
However, we ask all fans to remember that this is a temporary, unoptimized build. It's being built at no additional cost to show off improved graphics/new story content-- but it is a modified build of the original demo.
This demo in no way reflects the capability/file size/etc.. of our current private build, and should be considered more of a content sample!

Writing Update (09/22/23)
Hello everyone! It's been a while since I made one of these, huh? 👀
I've spent the past few weeks settling back into university work, but now I'm back into the swing of writing and developing things. So I thought I would take this chance to clarify some things, and lay down what the future of The Exile is gonna look like.
The Public Demo is now done. Chapter Five is the last chapter that you'll be able to play for free until the game is finished. Right now, I am working on rewriting what is written and porting the game into Twine. This means I'm expanding scenes, adding variation and flavor text, fixing stubborn lingering bugs, and implementing a codex + optional flashback scenes (*cough* and art *cough*) into the game. This will take a while.
I'm not just copy and pasting things into Twine and changing the coding-- I'm polishing things, adding lore and info, and overall just making the game significantly more "put together" so-to-speak. The version of The Exile that's up right now has been the Alpha Version of the game, It's never been properly edited beyond fixing glaringly obvious typos, continuity errors, and bugs. Now, I'm working on actually implementing broader, more complex changes into the game based on feedback I've gotten over the coarse of the past two years of writing!
My hope is to release the Twine Demo at some point around January. But that's a goal, not a deadline. I'll likely take in more beta readers for the Twine version of the game at some point, and post the Twine build onto my Patreon more casually in the following months. I'll delve more into both of things, however, when the time comes.
My hope is to be as transparent as possible and try to be more active on here as I work on things, so expect to see writing updates once more! Though they'll likely be quite short, functioning just to keep you guys updated on what's going on ~*behind the scenes*~

Expanded the Jamie + Lnyla encounter in the woods (scene has three main variations, and can end in 4 different ways! And Jamie is less of a little brat <3)

The Wayhaven Chronicles—Update 12/April/2024
So close to finally being done with the character creator, editing, and clean up code (though I think that will be something I continue to do as I’m writing and find variables I can condense or sort out)!
This part has taken soooo much longer than I planned or wanted, but I have to remind myself it’s worth the work—especially when it means I can just transfer what I’ve spent so long sorting for this book to the next one and just add on the variables for the last book. It does make me realise just how many threads and branches Wayhaven now has!…But also makes me all the more excited to get to write them when I see where they are going! :D
But I’m getting some serious writing withdrawals…to the point that I may have done a little bit towards the next chapter this week, lol!
At least once this is completely done, the writing should progress much quicker, and I can really settle myself into the actual story writing. Something I am even more eager for after going over Chapter One’s writing for editing! I absolutely love what I have! The love interest openings gave me such romantic (and sometimes steamy!) vibes. It sets the perfect tone for how the book really will have that seriously romance focus, particularly with the villain pushing the love interests forward on that, hehe! ;D
But I’m excited to get into the storyline for this book too! Something very different for what I’ve done with Wayhaven so far, and even a mechanic I have only for this book! I’ll be excited to find out how your MC’s react to it!
I will be pushing on to get the final tasks done on this demo chapter and get it over to the editor this weekend. It IS happening this weekend, even if I have to stay up all day and nights, lol! Which means next week it’s back to writing! Yay! I am SO ready for that, as well as being much quicker at it, lol! :D

what is the context for these, you might ask… instead of answering, i welcome you to the [fangame marathon], part 1.
to clarify some things, my goal with this is not to "review" these fangames, but rather to either recommend you some games you might not have heard of for you to experience yourself, bring attention to ongoing projects, and to find something fun in unexpected places. i genuinely believe that if a person put their time and effort into something, then it'll always be worth seeing.
i downloaded a lot of games from gamejolt, ranging from "widely popular" to "possibly a virus", and i'll be playing through them in no particular order, so don't be surprised if you see some familiar titles. that said, let me tell you about what i've baked for you today..

sans simulator by NekoGlass status: complete full release date: 3 years ago (that would be 2021)
this one is intended for two players, but i could not muster the courage to venture into online multiplayer servers, and i don't have anyone to play with offline except for my cat (who would make an excellent opponent if not for the lack of keyboard-applicable fingers). so i had to do everything myself. the game has an ai that can play as sans, which effectively turns the game into a survivor battle. there's not a lot of variety in attacks, so they're pretty easy to learn, but it still took me a couple of tries to beat him (then again i am kinda bad at video games so…)
the game offers different sanses from the utmv for you to fight with, but it's effectively just a reskin of the sprite and attacks (although a very well made one).
obviously i had to try out the offline two player mode, playing as both sans and chara, trying to survive and and not survive at the same time. probably not the best way to play this game, but it was still pretty fun. still think you should probably grab a friend for this one.
overtale (3D) by OvertaleRPG status: cancelled last update: 7 years ago (2017)
only a very short tech demo was available for download, showcasing some simple button, door and dialogue mechanics. this game is in 3D!! and we play as asriel!! but sadly according to the last dev update it has been cancelled.
still, i felt like it deserves an honorable mention because it accidentally did the funniest thing which took me so far out when it happened:

undertale 3D by 000RedX000 status: work in progress last update: 7 years ago (2017)
a very good snippet of a game. very short, only showcasing the rooms up to flowey, but i really like how it was done. it would be a huge undertaking (undertaling…) to remake the entire game in 3D, so i'm not surprised there were only a couple of beginning areas done.

undermate by ChiiAka (chiiakagames) status: work in progress last update: 2 years ago (2022)
not the first undertale dating sim i've played (don't judge me, i will play every fangame i get my hands on), but this one wasn't really my thing, so to say. i kind of have a gripe with people turning non-human characters into human ones. but if that's your thing, then go ahead, whatever. and if making all of the humans into white twinks is also your thing, why should i care. (i am side-eyeing you intensely.)
this demo includes only the intro chapter with not a lot of choices, but the art is pretty, so i guess you can take a look if you want to see white twink sans undertale.

icebound by LucanaDLL status: work in progress last dev update: 1 month ago
no idea how i haven't played this one yet… i'm sure i've seen a trailer or something before, but i've no idea why i haven't downloaded it immediately, because this game looks amazing. it's really well polished, the spritework is exceptional, and all the transitions and effects just tickle my brain pleasantly.. i haven't beaten the demo yet, because sans and flowey are taking a shovel and burying me even deeper underground, but i'll come back to it once i'm done with the marathon.
very worth checking out, and following the development of the project as well!

storyswap color: asriel genocide battle by MrEpicIsHere777 status: complete date released: 6 years ago (2018)
i promised myself that i'm not going to play through all hundreds of dusttale and final breath and whatever else sans battles, mostly because i know they're too hard for me to beat, but a non-sans battle fangame is always worth checking out in my opinion.
to be upfront, i haven't beaten this one (again… my vidiod game skills are brittle) and i stopped trying after 10 deaths, but i might come back to it. the attack patterns are creative, and i'm interested in the character and the story as well. worth playing for yourself in my opinion, see if you can beat it.
undermoon by Artem-Nesterov status: work in progress? last update: 6 years ago (2018)
unfortunately, this game only comes in russian, but i asked my brain to translate it and it did, so i understood everything perfectly.
this is a very neat short little demo that presents some pretty cool concepts. the movement is a bit slow and wonky, but i really liked how they did the ambient narration:

there was also a very funny moment where i run into the bullets that flowey surrounds you with, thinking that i'd get teleported back like you do in ut, but no… i died. that was fair, can't complain.

according to the last dev log, the development has been frozen, but i really hope they get back to it because the setting looked very promising!
that's it for now. not a lot of games this time because the gods are trying to stop me from achieving absolute fangaming by repeatedly cutting off the electricity at my house, but i'll compensate for it next time. i checked and it turns out i have downloaded 284 games…. and that's not even all of them. this might take longer than a couple of weeks.

Hello! It’s been about six months since the last time, so I’m once again searching for artists who are available to do guest pieces.
If you haven’t heard of this before, the basic idea is that every month I make a post about the progress planned at GB Patch Games for the coming weeks. I like to include an image of one of our characters as a part of the update post.
The artist is credited and we don’t use the work for anything other than that single monthly progress plan post. The artists set their own rates, they use their own styles, and the complexity of the image is flexible. Each guest piece is commissioned early in the month and needs to be completed before the end of the month.
Occasionally, we have guest pieces for other situations, such as celebrating the launch of a new demo or DLC. The overall process for how the commission goes is the same whether it’s for an update post or a special occasion post.
If you’d like to be considered, please just send me a message with some example images and your estimate rates!

Progress Update #6// 6/22/24 - Episode 1 Full Release

Well folks, we're finally here. Episode 1 of Camp Overlook has been fully released. (Did I say I'd release it last month? I did, but let's forget that.) Also included with this update is the intro scene for episode 2, right before your group is meeting the campers.
Unfortunately, we will once again have to start from the beginning, since I changed some wording on the beginnig questions and anwsers. But this will be the last time I do that for a while, even I'm tired having to re-read the beginning of episode 1, get it off my eyes.
Personally, episode 1 is still not complete in a way that I am fully satisfied with. There's a whole section that I ended up removing because it was just way too much. But I'm planning to add it back in when I finish episode 2, it's just gonna have to cook a little bit more in the oven.
But anyways, let's get into what exactly I've included in this update.
A scene where you can either walk alone or with your group to the cabins.
Your cabins! Pick what bed you sleep in, wondering how exactly this will affect the story.
Engage in a scavenger hunt with people outside (or inside) your already assigned group. Pick wisely, you'll be seeing these counselors more than others.
Be accosted by someone you weren't expecting to see, especially when they have something you want.
Hang around the campfire and enjoy some marshmallows with your peers.
Leave your cabin.
I hope you all enjoy this update as much as it beat me to a pulp to get out. I'll be jumping right into episode 2 after this, I just wanna get my hands on it and get these scenes out of my head and onto the file or I'll combust.
As always, please let me know if you encounter any bugs or scenes that aren't quite adding up, or anything that you personally want to suggest to be changed or altered.
And for those who still have asks that haven't been answered, apologies, I just wanted to focus on finishing this update before anything else. But I will be answering them.

Wings of Dawn (WIP)
In a world where wings are everything, you are the only one born without them. You grow up in a modest village under the wing of your father until one day you are forced to flee from a mysterious attack on your village.
Travel through the three unique nations of Askgard to find out the secret of your own birth. Along your journey, you may meet, befriend, and even romance shady merchants, runaway nobles, knights with a hidden past—and fight your way through the looming shadows threatening to engulf Askgard beside them.
Be careful, for there are threads of conspiracy spun just outside of your sight; things may not be as they seem. In the end, you may be the only one who has the power to save Askgard from ruin.
Currently writing the demo. The demo is intended to release with an intro + the first 2 chapters. Planned ROs are 2 male, 2 female, 1 nonbinary.
I will provide weekly updates on the word count, which is sitting around 6k as of now excluding commands.
This is my first time writing an interactive novel AND my first time using Tumblr, so apologies if there are any mistakes on my part.
I’ll make another (official?) intro post once I’m done with the demo.

progress update [10/31/23]
hello all. it's been a minute since I've come on here and dropped an update on the progress of the game, so this is just an outline of what's been happening.
being totally honest, I did not want to come back online until I had something substantial to present, but I've gotten a few messages asking if I've abandoned this project due to my silence. I'm posting this in the hopes of killing those rumors and moving forward.
the truth is, I have been working on the game, rather consistently, in fact. I've spent the past four months doing research, redrafting and writing, developing art and redesigning how larkin is played.
other than that, if you're looking for a specific timeline, I'm afraid I can't offer specifics at the moment other than what follows.
I'm planning to release a final version of the demo once I've completed the third chapter of the game. as I've spent the past few months revising and reworking the previous chapters, I'm currently working through the editing phases up to and through the two out of the three major routes in chapter two. my end goal is to hopefully have something complete within the next few months, but unfortunately, as I'm in the process of completing graduate school, working several jobs and dealing with a small amount of creative strife, I don't want to make any promises I can't fulfill.

Crown of Exile - Status Update
Hi everyone! I hope you're having a lovely start to October - I know I am. Winter this year has seemed to have lasted longer than usual and I'm more than happy to return to the warmer weather 😅
I thought I'd share the very rough release time frame for Chapter 8. Because my real life job eats up most of my time, writing is taking really long so I've decided to do another partial release. This release will be available to my Patrons in mid-October and will cover the first two thirds of Chapter 8. This means that if you wanted to play the beginning scenes of Chapter 8 previously, but couldn't, now you can because my Patreon is now open again 🎉
The update for October will include the early scenes of Chapter 8, the boat scenes and then meeting Emos, Dena and dealing with the alliance and politics aspects. What won't be included is the final third of the chapter which is basically romance, fun-party scenes and some optional smutty smut for Elora and Irus. Because those are more conclusion scenes, I'm hopeful to have that ready by November so the public release will naturally follow once the full Chapter 8 is completed.

This month was pretty busy for me, but I'm super happy with the progress made this month ^^ I feel like I've started the year off in a pretty good groove after it being all over the place for a hot second, yay!!!

This past month, Etza and Druk's routes. With the revamped demo finishing its revisions, it left a lot more time for me to focus writing on full route development.
If you missed the announcement, I FINISHED Etza's first draft!!! YAAAYYY!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!

That means 4/6 routes are finished in terms of the base writing, which is so exciting to MEEEEE. I've always seen Etza's draft as The Milestone because with their route finished, it would mean the four Central routes are done writing. And to me, while there's a good chuck of writing left, we are nearing the end of it.
There's only two routes left and that means it's about ~100k words which is CRAZY compared to when I had ~300k to write (:cries:). Even if that sounds like a lot, once I start chipping away at those routes, that 100k goes into the "double digits" aka 90k...80k... etc. and that makes me want to pee my pants
We also finished editing Druk's route, yay!!! So we reached a lot of milestones this month ^^

We are nearing the end of the Vui background commissions. It's very bittersweet; I'm so used to mentioning him in my devlogs now </3 There's only like 3(?) more BGs left for him to make, and then all of the BGs for the game will be finished. Very Wild! I think Alaris will have 25ish BGs, and they are all Stunning.
It's been a while since I showed you all a BG, so I'll give you all a preview of one I just got in!

I personally have been doing a lot of sprite work this month to finish the final art assets for the demo. I added some expressions to Druk and Aisa that I'd been procrastinating (I don't even know why I was procrastinating them). And I finally finished Mom and Kimura's updated sprites! Patreon already saw them, but I'll show the new versions here too ^^

Aside from sprite work, much of my "art" time has been on finishing up/putting together the last of the screens for the GUI. Specifically, I got THIS BABY up and running. She is my crowning glory.
Memory Screen to Replay Unlocked Free Time Dates
Oh my god.... You all have NO IDEA how much of a pain this was to code. There is a transparency gradient going on in the left and right B&W previews (courtesy of community programming angel feniks/shawna).
And then the effort to have the Titles and Descriptions of the Previewed Date change tilted me on Multiple Occasions. But we finally got it to work thanks to bestie @siyo-koy pointing out I just coded one stupid "if" statement wrong LJAFSLIEFJIEJ. But the effort was WORTH IT because I'm so proud of her!!! I hope you all like it too as a way to relive Free Time Dates. I had a lot of fun with the Titles and descriptions.

Preview of Personality Stats & Affection Screens
So I coded both of them a bit differently from each other. The Personality Screen shows you a breakdown of your traits so far. Think of it like a pie graph! So in the preview picture, your choices indicate you are 33% Brave, 16% Charismatic, etc. I felt like this was a more natural way to portray personality rather than how many bravery points you've collected so far!
And then for Affection, it works in a more traditional way, where it counts it based on how many you've gotten out of the total amount you can get. This way, as the story progresses, how close you are to the person reflects how much your relationship as developed!
I've also added little descriptions underneath each that change depending on the percentage. So for example, if you have gotten 82% of the affection points for Kuna'a, the description of your relationship might change as well hehe

Other than that, I've mainly focused on getting the demo together. We released the beta demo earlier this month (? LOL). And the feedback has been so kind!!
A lot of this month was spent polishing so that the demo can be ready for early access and eventually public release. I updated sprites, made sure music crossfades with each other so that transitions between soundtracks feel smoother, I added/polished all of the screens I needed to (e.g., Memory Room, Full Credits, Cleaning Music Room, Adding Stats Screens), and I FINALLY as of yesterday added the Voiced Lines!!
One thing I added in the Extended Demo that I'm really happy with is the use of Extended Pronouns (courtesy of Angel Feniks). Below is a preview of how it works now!

Basically, you can choose multiple pronouns for yourself, including custom pronouns (e.g., xe/xem, fae/faer, etc.). On top of that, you can choose how often you'd like the pronouns to alternate (e.g., every line versus every scene) and what kind of terms you'd like to be used for you (e.g., neutral vs. masculine vs. feminine)!

I didn't have any time to really play any games this month because I was drowning in work LMFAOSLJIEF. I did play the Threads of Bay demo by @lavendeerstudios and it was GORGEOUS! Very cute game with lovable characters and charming visuals. Andrew, I will have your number
Every other section was really long, so I'm going to throw it here even though it's not market research. But Intertwine recently hit 600 ratings, which is crazy. Thank you for still enjoying that game even if it's not one that is my main focus anymore. I'm really happy people still like it :on the verge of tears:

HYPERSOMNIA JANUARY DEV LOG : "LOG 1, WOOHOO!"
Hi! For all of you who follow HYPERSOMNIA, or are just stopping by, let me introduce you to this post to really set the tone.

For 2024, I am going to try to release a dev log about HYPERSOMNIA once a month, may come earlier, may come a little late, but I'm doing this to help give insight on to how the game is going, and to give me motivation to work on the game.
First things first, big news!
HYPERSOMNIA IS NOW AVAILABLE TO WISHLIST ON STEAM! (LINK)
After a while of back and forwarding with Valve, I've finally got a Steam page to call my own, and MAN is it bizarre seeing my weird little RPG in my Steam library. Like, that's my logo, and my key art, and screenshots of MY game, that's so weird. It doesn't feel real. BUT IT IS!
And, I would really really really really really appreciate it if you would consider wishlisting the game on Steam. It helps with the algorithm, and my happiness because I like seeing numbers go up, it feels good.
I even drew this as a announcement/commemoration for the page going live.

Secondly...
A new trailer is in the works! We were accepted for this year's MOTHER Direct (4th time baby, whoo!)
The trailer has been coming along well, I hope to show more battle oriented clips that I've missed the last few years, like special moves.
Can you believe I've never actually gotten to adding those in the game? I mean, they come set-up in default RPG Maker projects but I've never gotten around to revamping them until now, year 4 of engine work. Isn't that strange?
I also hope to improve on editing in the trailers. Whenever I finish a trailer I come back a few months later to notice minor points where I was kinda sloppy.
I'm not much of a video editor, (I only learned so I could edit trailers on my own) but I'd like to keep them at a good presentable quality. You gotta have standards with that kinda stuff, it's important!

OK, TIME FOR THE ACTUAL GAME STUFF. HERE WE GO.

Abilities are now implemented! And work! Wahoo!
In HYPERSOMNIA, players are able to switch abilities between party members. I find this a really interesting mechanic for how simple it seems, you get to choose who plays what role in your party. I think this is HUGE, and opens up a lot of unique scenarios for the game's encounters. I've had this planned for years, as far back as 2021 if I can recall, so it's super cool seeing it in game.

Mapping is being worked on!
I've also been working on mapping out more areas of the game! The forest part you hopefully saw in the last trailer is almost completely mapped. I've been working on the second part to it and am hoping to finish it sometime soon.
Mapping forests really suck. THOUGH, almost all the maps for the first chapter of the game are done! That's just another step closer to the demo. (Which, FYI, will be on Steam and Itch! ^^)

I've also been working on re-spriting older scenes!
This one's been really fun to do, I've been going back and redoing older stuff from the 2022 trailer, like this train! It's weird seeing it side by side, because you can definitely see where it's come from but at the same time, it looks so different.

Lastly, Script and Music updates!
The script for HYPERSOMNIA's first act has been completed! with just 37 pages of just cutscene dialog alone! We're also currently working on wrapping up NPC dialog! Not much else to say.

And music is being worked on!
Music has been making some progress! I like to lay out demo's for areas I'm mapping out to help make both the music and scene come together. (Also, to help break up the eerie silence when playtesting...)
Speaking of music, FIREBALL, the games main battle theme, was recently delisted on our YouTube channel.
We did this because we decided we wanted to resample FIREBALL, and found that it's best to not have the song uploaded until a complete, final version is made. At least for the demo, it could possibly change before the final game but that's a bit too far in the future for me to think about fully.

Update Jan. 4, 2024
Happy New Year, Everyone! 🎆
I hope everyone has had a great holiday season and are managing to keep warm. I have been quite busy with school since my last update, but I had an extremely restful and productive winter break so I thought I should share my progress!
For starters, I have finally finished porting over all of the prologue to twine 🎉 I completely forgot how needlessly complex this first portion was, but it's finally over and now I can move on to my Chapter 1 rewrites _(:3 」∠)_
I also finished porting over a barebones version of the stats/character menu page that I will probably leave alone for now. It's not the prettiest thing in the world, but I really want to focus on narrative writing, so it will have to do. That said, it is perfectly serviceable as it is and retains the functions that are included in the dashingdon demo, all except for a stats indicator of some kind.
As for Chapter 1 and 2, writing has been going well now that I can focus on it completely. I've decided to completely upend the first half of Chapter 1 to reflect the new direction I'm going in, and I'll give some small crumbs in the cut below for those who are interested ┬┴┬┴┤・ω・)ノ
But that is all I have for now! I will update again once Chapter 1 is finished, thank you again, Everyone!
Spoilers below: while I won't be going into too much detail, I will be referring to specific scenes and characters in Chapter 1, so if you'd like to experience the new demo blind, I recommend not clicking below.

General Route (prior to meeting Min He):
Rewriting the meet with Qiu at the apothecary
Extending the time you get with An and Qiu prior to meeting Min He
Also giving more chances to experience the spirit world route prior to the path split, to give MC more of a reason to stay or return to the mountain.
Mountain Route:
Rewriting first impression of returning the mountain overall
Possibly moving up Kaski meeting for pacing
Xinyi?? Fluff King finally??
Spirit Route:
Largest amount of rewrites here, mostly due to streamlining the four directions into two initial ones.
Pacing also moved up, so MC gets to maybe encounter something they probably shouldn't know about :)
Tai Clan -> turning from a clan of tengu into stone lions for plot, which means rewriting encounter with Tai Shek (it suits his name more too lol ( ´ ▽ ` )ノ)
Meeting two characters in Shi'Guo initially meant to be introduced later! They're very dear to me, so please treat them well ^^

2 Year Update Post
Hello everyone! Welcome to Yearly Update 2: Electric Boogaloo. The dev team has been working hard behind the scenes, and we felt it was once again time to share our progress. As far as current progress on the full game, we've completed 63% of the script writing. This may not seem like too much compared to last year, and that is because last year we included editing in the calculation. Since last year, we have hired a new editing team that is rechecking each script and is making great progress! Art assets have also stayed at about 30%, though this is because our art team has been hard at work on another project; our demo re-release! After the winter event, we decided that it would be for the best if we updated the demo to better reflect the final game and the talent of those that have joined the team since its release. Aside from migrating the game to Ren'Py, we will also be adding new sprite art, updated backgrounds, and rescripting one of the scenes! It has taken most of our time these past few months, but we look forward to showing you our progress, hopefully before the end of the year! Outside of the re-release, we do have plans for something special coming this December. It won't be to the same scale as the Winter Event from 2021, but we hope you'll enjoy it just as much! Progress Update on Melodi
Hello, everyone!
Happy New Year!
On December 15th 2023, I made the public announcement that Lil Miss Rarity will receive no further comic updates from me, finally confirming a common theory that I had lost the will to continue creating it. Lil Miss Rarity, just to confirm here, is now public domain and I encourage fan-blogs and will proverbially pass the torch to anyone who would like to take up the mantle.
It wasn't an easy decision to make because of how many times I'd promised I would never stop updating it, and I did in fact have future plans for it (I will be making a video on YouTube describing how I'd planned to continue the story, and how I would have ended it if I ever did).
But in its wake came Melodi, a spiritual successor to Lil Miss Rarity, and I've decided that a story-driven video game with ongoing updates would be the smartest decision, at least for the introduction to the series.

And so along came this twiggy elf. (Important note: Her booby size on her sprite is exaggerated, same as her head size. The in-game art for cutscenes will show more proper body proportions.)

Melodi is now just four directional (diagonal movement) sprite animations away from being a complete character sprite, which means creating a proof of concept will be just a matter of time.
As of today, I have completed:
The intro cutscene for the game, leading to the introduction of Melodi and her teacher, Eliah Sterium (Multiple full color images accompany that cutscene)
Seven unique songs entirely composed by myself (Literally learned how to make music a week ago just for this project)
Four directional movement sprites consisting of 6 frames of pixel animation each direction (Including separating each part to make them usable for other characters' sprites)

Four directional idle animations consisting of 6 frames of animation each direction (Again, making paperdolls to use later for other characters)
A discord server for the ongoing production of Melodi RPG where I'll be answering questions, including answering as the characters from the game similar to the LMR ask-blog
27 (just counted) preliminary sketches to flesh out character designs and have reference for myself
Eliah Sterium's design, making the ladies go gaga

Personalities for the primary cast of deadbeat magic school students

The pricing model for the game (Episode 1 will be a free demo, and all remaining episodes will be bundled together in a $10 purchase)
The "Pet Cwow" option on the Quit Game menu and what happens when you pet him (You'll see)

Many new fans/friends who've introduced themselves in the Discord
And, I have received (on December 31st) my very first negative review of the game, which I will cherish. Someone who knew nothing other than "It's a game about an elf who goes psychotic" and saw the title art said that the game was basically doomed to fail because Melodi has large breasts, to which I replied "Imagine being this fucking butthurt over tits existing" which set him off into an obnoxious and insulting rage that ended with "Enjoy nothing but horny virgins playing your game and ignoring the dog water, generic ass story." A quote that I will never, ever, ever forget, and if I someday make a physical release of the game, I promise you, that quote will be on the back of the box.
There's even more than just all this, I've already sunk tons of hours of time and effort into the production of Melodi and I am super excited to continue.
I want to thank everyone for the support of the game so far, and I hope once people know more about the story and characters, the game sees the same kind of fandom that Lil Miss Rarity once had.
