“YOU BROUGHT BACK A WITCH?!” Sunghoon snapped, his jaw clenching tightly.
“Yes!!” the dhampir snapped back, “We couldn’t leave her there to die!!”
Sunghoon was filled with anger, blood boiling.
“Let's all calm down…” Heeseung spoke up, placing a hand on Sunghoon’s shoulder.
Sunghoon slapped his hand away, “Hyung, that dhampir bringing this witch here will put us all in danger!!”
“This witch is one of my best friends!” She yelled, “I wasn’t going to leave her, end of story!”
Sunghoon scoffed, “Yeah, and if we all die it’ll be the damn dhampir’s fault.”
“Hey!” Jake yelled, getting in his best friend's face, “That damn dhampir is my mate, watch your words. She’s in our pack now.”
The room fell silent. Sunghoon figured he would have connected with the dhampir, the tension between the two was too obvious.
“And for the record,” Jake said, taking a step back away from Sunghoon, “I’m the one who said to bring the witch here. We need information once she wakes up.”
Sunghoon looks away from his friend, looking at the witch lying unconscious on the couch.
He knew Jake was right. In order to stop Dorian, they needed any information possible.
Sunghoon releases a breath, “Fine, do what you want with the witch.”
And with that, Sunghoon stormed off.
“Easy does it,” Heeseung grabbed your hands, helping you sit up.
It’s been exactly a week since Dorian burned down your village and killed your coven. You were the only surviving member.
Your heart ached for those you’ve lost, but you knew their souls were somewhere free from the cruelness of this world.
Most of your burns have healed from your recovery spell, but you still ached with each movement, making it harder for you to move. On top of that, your right leg was broken. And no recovery spell could make that heal any faster.
The vampires have shown you kindness for the most part. One in particular doesn’t care for you much.
Once you were completely sat up, you thanked Heeseung.
Jay knelt down beside you, looking at the bandages that covered your arms, slowly lifting them up to look at your skin.
“We can probably remove the bandages,” He said, lifting more of the bandage up to get a better look at your skin, “The only thing is, there’s a lot of scarring.”
You nodded, “Recovery spells can only go so far.”
Jay removed the bandages, relieving the scars. You didn’t realize how bad they actually were until you looked directly at them.
Flashbacks to the fire came back, shaking you to the core. You dropped your head into your hands, begging for the thoughts to go away.
“Y/N,” your best friend drops beside you, her hands set gently on your shoulders, “what’s wrong?”
Her voice alone was enough to snap you out of it, you quickly looked up at her, giving a nod, “I am fine, the scars just…”
She sighs, “It brought back the memories?”
You nodded again.
A scoff happened from across the room. You immediately glared in its direction.
Sunghoon leaned against the wall, arms crossed against his chest, his black hair falling against his eyes.
“Got something to say, bloodsucker?” you hissed.
Sunghoon raised a brow, “You gonna put a hex on me or something, witch?”
You gripped the blanket that covered your legs, “I just might!”
He chuckled, pushing himself off the wall. He smiled just enough to show his sharpened fangs and cracked his knuckles.
“Alright, that’s enough!” Jungwon snapped, looking between the two of you, “This situation isn’t ideal, but we all have one goal in common, so please for the love of everything put your differences to the side and shut the fuck up.”
Sunghoon sighed, retracting his fangs.
“Good boy, listen to your leader.” you gave him a wink.
“Y/N,” Jungwon warned.
You sighed and relaxed your body. You were powerless in your current situation.
A pack of vampires and two humans were your only source of protection at the current moment. Your coven was destroyed. This is all you have right now.
Sunghoon scoffed, then stormed out the door into the night.
“Do you think you can make it up the stairs to bathe and sleep in a bed finally?” your dhampir friend asks, giving you a soft smile.
You removed the blanket, and more burn scars trailed down your left leg, while the other was covered in a cast from your knee down.
You pulled your shorts down, trying to hide the scars.
“Hey,” Jay’s mate kneels beside your friend, her soft hands taking yours, “These scars are proof that you survived, don’t try to hide them.”
You wanted to protest, to shout that she doesn’t understand what it meant to survive after what you went through.
But then you noticed the scars on her neck. It didn’t take long for you to recognize that those scars were caused by Dorian. That __ survived almost being killed by him.
You forced a smile, “These scars don’t just show that I survived, they show what I also lost.”
“Then you’ll carry them with you forever,” she gives you a soft smile, “It’ll be a reminder of what Dorian has done, and what will be done to get back at him.”
She was right. You gave her a smile back with a nod.
Jay pulled his mate up and to his chest, wrapping her in his arms, “__ always knows what to say.”
Their bond pulled at each of them. Jungwon pulls __ to him and Jake pulls your friend to himself. Sunoo, Niki, and Heeseung had smiles watching their pack.
You too had a smile. You could feel the bond they shared. Their vibes and how their energies matched.
You looked at your friend and Jake. The way he held her so tightly and her head in the crease of his neck.
Your heart danced for them. You knew how much losing her first mate did a number on her. But you truly believe Jake was meant to be hers completely. She just had to go through some bullshit shit first.
Eventually, you had enough of the love birds, positioning yourself to stand up.
Your recovery spell healed your broken leg enough that you were able to stand up straight and still walk…but just barely.
Your half-blooded friend noticed your struggles, releasing herself from Jake to help you up the stairs and into the bathroom.
The reflection you saw in the mirror haunted you, a burn scar covering your left eye and up the side of your forehead. The recovery magic healed it enough that it was a light pink.
A sigh escaped your lips, as you turned and faced away from the mirror.
You cleaned yourself up, washing away the couch bum life you had for the last week.
You were so glad to finally be able to sleep in a bed. Archer was nice enough to run to the nearest supermarket to buy you extra clothes, bed sheets, and other witchy essentials to have here.
Your new room was filled with plants and crystals and a few books that Jake was able to salvage from the fire.
You tried to stay awake to read, but your eyes failed you. After not sleeping in a bed for over a week, it was way too comfortable.
You stood in front of the mirror, pulling your long black hair behind you and into a braid. Your bangs pull out perfectly down the sides of your face.
Your half-blooded friend brought you some jewelry to wear, which you were ecstatic about.
Witches can’t go without jewelry, right?
You pull some rings onto your fingers, then dangle earrings into your ears.
A perfectly black hooped nose ring suited your nose and a lace choker around your neck and a short silver bar on your eyebrow.
You pulled a white cropped tank top over you and a black baggy pair of cargo pants and black boot, and black cast boot on your right leg to match.
A beautiful light brown cardigan made the outfit even more perfect.
You did a three-sixty in the mirror, finally feeling and looking like yourself.
You stared at the scar on your eye. You traced your fingers over it, feeling the rough skin.
Dropping your hand back at your side, you turn and walk away from the mirror.
The kitchen was lively, and laughter from your new friends echoed up the stairs as you made your way down.
Jay stood at the counter flipping pancakes and bacon, a bag of blood attached to his lips.
The two humans stood behind Jay, begging him to hurry with breakfast and Jay tried his best to shoo them off.
Jake sat with __ on the couch. She ate a bowl of cereal while Jake drank his own bag of blood.
Sunoo, Jungwon, and Heeseung sat at the kitchen table with a map in front of them discussing the layout of the area.
Niki also sat at the table, backpack in his lap, and sipping on a bag of blood as if it were a juice box.
You giggled and walked over to the table, “You really are stuck in a seventeen-year-old body arentcha?”
Niki rolled his eyes, “Unfortunately.”
Heeseung checked his watch, “Off to school.”
Niki groaned, throwing his head back against the wall, “This fucking sucks.”
You softly smiled at the younger, “I’ll walk you out.”
Niki stood up, throwing the backpack on.
You went to the fridge, grabbing an apple and a bottle of water. The piles of blood bags filled the bottom shelf.
Seeing the bags reminded you that one bloodsucker in particular was missing.
“Where’s the idiot bloodsucker at?” you asked anyone who would give you an answer.
Jake perked up, “That idiot bloodsucker has a name,” you shrugged your shoulders, and Jake sighed, “He’s outside doing his photography.”
Your dhampir friend smiles at you, “Worried about him, Y/N?”
You narrowed your eyes, “He annoys me.”
She smirked at you, “You look pretty.”
You toss your braid over your shoulder, “Of course I do, part of being a witch is also being charming.”
The vampires groan, which you expected. They might be being nice to you for the moment, but witches and vampires still don’t get along.
You grabbed a blood bag along with your other items and closed the fridge.
You patted Niki’s back, “Come on baby bro, let’s get you off to school.”
Sunghoon sat up in a tree, camera in hand, and snapping photos of the open land.
The morning sunrise hit the land perfectly. He changed a few filter and lens settings, finding the perfect combination.
His mood changed once he heard the door to the house open, sensing Niki and you stepping out of the house.
Sunghoon turned around, watching as you waved Niki off, him going into a full sprint and gone within seconds.
You took a bite out of the apple in your hands, looking around until you made eye contact with him.
Sunghoon glared before turning his attention back to his camera.
“You lack a lot of manners bloodsucker, ya know that?”
Sunghoon scoffed, looking down at you who was now underneath him.
“Why do you care about my manners, hmm?”
“Haven’t you heard? We have a common goal, gotta act like friends, don’t want Jungwon to snap our necks, right?” You loved teasing him. You loved how irritated you made him and how you knew exactly what to say to get under his skin.
Deep down you really wanted to get along with all the vampires, Sunghoon was just the only one not budging.
Sunghoon ignored you, his jaw clenched as he held the camera back up.
You whistle at him, his eyebrow rising.
Sunghoon was fixing to snap, “I know for a fact you didn’t just whistle at me like I am a dog.”
“Look at me then.” You said.
Sunghoon looked back at you, a warm smile on your face.
You tossed the blood bag up to him, Sunghoon catching it.
“You haven’t eaten yet, right?”
All Sunghoon could do was stare at the bag, his tough exterior relaxing.
“Thank you,” was all he could say.
You smiled even brighter, taking another bite out of your apple.
Sunghoon drank the blood as you finished off your apple and drank your water.
“Can I see your work?” You asked, finally breaking the silence.
Sunghoon glared at you again, “Why do you care?”
You sigh, “Because believe it or not, we are kinda stuck with each other, soooo.”
Sunghoon rolled his head, running a hand through his hair.
He knew you were right.
“You won’t put a hex on me if I come down, will ya hex girl?”
You glared at him, “No you idiot!”
Sunghoon smirked, “Sassy much, hex girl?”
“Continue pushing my buttons and you’ll see, bloodsucker.”
This small banter admittedly made Sunghoon happy. You were the first person to get under his skin and make it crawl, but returned every ounce of energy he gave out.
Sunghoon flung himself down from the tree, waving you over.
One by one, Sunghoon showed you all the photos he took this morning.
“These are really beautiful, bloodsucker,” you said, patting his shoulder, “But it’s missing something.”
Sunghoon once again glared at you, “Missing what, exactly?”
You smile, pointing at yourself, “A model!”
Sunghoon furrowed his brows at you, “I don’t need you in my photos hex girl, might put a curse on them.”
You rolled your eyes, “Come on, just snap a few pictures.”
Sunghoon wanted to protest, why should he take photos of his enemy?
But with the way you looked right now, Sunghoon knew with the sunrise and open fields, you would be a perfect fit.
He nodded, “Fine.”
You smiled, skipping away from him.
Sunghoon lifted his camera, snapping a few photos of you skipping.
You stopped and quickly turned around, the biggest smile on your face. Sunghoon snapped that as a photo, his stomach doing flips.
The way your lips curled as you smiled. How the sun brought out the color of your eyes. The way your hair fell and blew in the wind.
Sunghoon stared at the photo. You were so beautiful.
“Hey!” You snapped Sunghoon out of his trance, “Are you going to stare at the camera or tell me how to be a good model?”
Sunghoon smiled, “Just…be you.”
You thought about it, deciding to make a joke, “What if I do Wanda Maximoff poses? Like Scarlet Witch Style?”
Sunghoon blinked at you, “Can you actually do magic like that?”
You glared at him, “No! I’m a witch, not a superhuman.”
Sunghoon glared back, “Well, I didn’t know what all you witches can do!”
“Just think of us witches as hippies, just that we don’t smoke a shit ton of weed.”
Sunghoon chuckled, his hand clenching his shirt from his laughter.
“What is so funny?” You tried to not laugh as well, but his laugh was contagious.
“Just the way you explained witches,” Sunghoon took a deep breath, “I’ve only ever been in contact with witches who use darker magic, you’re the first who doesn’t.”
You studied him and his smile, his natural fangs being present with his smile.
You haven’t seen him smile at all since you met a week ago.
You walked towards him, stopping directly in front of him.
Sunghoon narrowed his eyes down at you, “What are you doing? Get away from me.”
You sighed, “There’s that tough exterior.”
You placed your hand on his cheek, he pulled away, but reached back for him, connecting your palm to his skin.
Sunghoon’s heart was racing at your touch, his jaw locking together.
You breathed in, “You have such a tough exterior, but are so caring and soft underneath it.”
Sunghoon rolled his eyes, “Stop using your voodoo shit on me.”
“Sunghoon.”
It was the first time you actually called him by his name, and oh did it do numbers on him.
He made eye contact with you, and immediately after, you backed away from him.
Sunghoon knew why. There was a spark of electric energy that shot through the both of you, that small string slowly getting tied, but being still loose.
He shook his head, not letting it tighten.
“I’m going back to the house.” Sunghoon quickly turned and walked away, leaving you.
You touched your chest, looking down at the ground.
“What the fuck was that.”
Sunghoon spent the rest of the day locked inside his room, flipping through the photos he had taken earlier that morning, stopping at the one of you.
His heartstrings were being pulled. The moment of the string being attached to the both of you came back into his mind.
“I can’t mate with a damn witch, it’s impossible,” he whispered to himself.
But the more he looked at your photo, the more his heart called to you.
He turned the camera off, set it on the bedside table, rolled over, and fell asleep.
He woke up at the sound of footsteps walking down the hall.
Sunghoon stretched, a yawn escaping his lips.
He checked the time off his phone, rolling his eyes at the time.
Sunghoon quickly got out of bed, sliding his sneakers on before walking out of his room, seeing the door to your bedroom was open.
Sunghoon rolled his eyes, “What the hell is she doing?”
He found you outside by the pond sitting on the ground. Glass bottles filled with herbs sat in front of you, and a small fire was lit to your right.
“It’s three a.m.,” he yawned, “why the hell are you outside at three a.m.”
You turned and smiled at him, “I’m doing witchy things.”
Sunghoon scoffed, “I already figured that, hex girl. I’m asking what exactly you are doing.”
You turned back to the herbs, slowly mixing them together and setting them into the fire.
“Don’t you know the witching hour is three a.m.?”
Sunghoon shoved his hands into the pockets of his sweatpants, “Yes, isn’t that when your powers are at their strongest? Just like us on a new moon.”
“Exactly,” you sang, “My powers are only stronger for an hour, plus the protection barrier I put around the house was fading due to my injuries from the fire. I need to revamp my recovery spell as well, so these scars go away.”
Sunghoon’s heart pulled towards you even more, you were sacrificing so much to protect everyone, to protect him when he does nothing but be an ass towards you.
You stood up, brushing the dirt off your sweatpants, “The barrier on the house has been fixed, so yay!”
Sunghoon nodded.
“But I ran out of herbal recovery leaves, so I need more of that to remove all these burn marks.”
You started to walk away, only for Sunghoon to grab your arm.
You raised a brow at him, noticing how serious his face looked at you, “What?”
Sunghoon walked closer to you, tracing his fingers over the massive pink scar on your face, “You’re beautiful as you are,” his fingers moved over every inch of the scar, before moving down your cheek, his palm cupping your face, “You’re so beautiful, scars and all.”
Your heart raced. He thought you were beautiful? You thought he hated you. But you couldn’t help but feel that tug to him, and notice his energy was matching that tug.
“What is this feeling?” You asked, “This energy that’s flowing between us? It wasn’t there before today.”
Sunghoon reached for your hand with his free hand, his eyes meeting yours, “It’s the string of fate.”
You looked at him confused, “String of fate?”
“When vampires meet their mates, a string of fate ties them together,” Sunghoon took a deep breath in, “And I think we might have a string of fate tying around us.”
“Is that another way of saying we are soulmates?” You made a grossed-out face at him, which earned you a glare.
“Don’t look at me like that hex girl, you act like it’s a choice.”
“Is it not?”
Sunghoon shook his head, “Trust me if it was, I wouldn’t be standing here right now.”
“Must be spine-chilling knowing your string of fate is probably being tied to a witch.” you teased him.
Sunghoon half smiled, biting his lower lip, “You know for someone who was the head witch of your coven and village, you sure don’t know a lot about vampires.”
You rolled your eyes, finally pushing his hand from your face, “I was only recently appointed as head witch, it’s not something I wanted.”
Sunghoon squeezed your hand, “It’s like Jungwon being our leader, I don’t think he thought he was fit enough.”
“Jungwon is doing fanatic, better than I was.”
“I bet you were fine—“
“If I were fine,” you took a deep breath in, “Then Dorian wouldn’t have found a way to break the barrier over my village and wouldn’t have burnt down to ashes and killed my whole coven.”
Sunghoon pulled you to him, embracing you, “I am so sorry they didn’t get to you in time. The moment Dorian would have been near Jake we would have known, we would have been there in seconds and…”
“And what, bloodsucker?”
“I could have saved you and your coven.”
You looked up at him, “You hate me, hate witches, why do that?”
Sunghoon took a deep breath, pushing your long hair behind your ear, “I would have gone to protect Jake, he’s my best friend after all, but I would have met you sooner, and could have prevented what happened.”
You stepped away from him, tears filling your eyes and not wanting him to see it.
“I couldn’t have stopped what happened, but I can do something now to protect you and my pack.”
You made eye contact with him, once again feeling that string of fate, it pulled your hearts together, you could feel and see the red energy wrap around the two of you, but you could also feel Sunghoon’s heart trying to reject it.
“We can’t be mates, you won’t allow it.”
Sunghoon rolled his eyes, “Stop using your voodoo on me.”
you scoffed, “I’m not using voodoo! I am using my—“
“Just shut up and come over here and kiss me.”
You stared at him, his hands clenched into fists at his sides.
You chuckled, “What?”
“Y/N,” your heart stopped at hearing how beautifully your name rolled off his tongue, “I am fighting to push out that string of fate. Anytime I’ve thought about who my mate would be, I never once pictured it would be you. Yet here you are in front of me. We are total opposites and two different types of creatures. And if you go back into that house and ignore this fate, then we will continue this back and forth. But if you come over here and kiss me, I swear I’ll be good to you.”
God damn that string of fate and god damn this vampire.
You rushed to him, standing on your tiptoes to reach his lips. His hands found your waist. The red energy of this fate tied you two into a knot. Bonding you as mates.
“Goddammit, hex girl,” he whispered in between kisses.
“Goddamnit, bloodsucker,” you whispered back.
Sunghoon sat against the tree, with you between his legs. Back against his chest and his arms wrapped around you.
You leaned your head against his chin, watching as the sun slowly peaked over the horizon.
“How long were you the head witch?” Sunghoon asked, taking your hands in his.
You sighed, “Only two years, I was next in line but I didn’t want it.”
“Why didn’t you?” Sunghoon was curious. Witches were something totally different than vampires, dhampirs, and even werewolves, their way of life was completely in the opposite direction.
“I didn’t feel as if I was ready,” you leaned more into him, “I don’t have as many years on me as some of the other warlocks and witches in the village.”
“And what time period are you from exactly?” Sunghoon teased.
“I saw the Salem Witch Trials happen.”
“Gosh you’re so old!” he teased you more, planting kisses on your cheek.
“Oh shut up!” you shoved your back into his chest, “I can NOT believe I am stuck with you until the world ends.”
“Get used to it, sweetheart.”
You both laughed and leaned more into each other.
“Can I take a photo of us?” Sunghoon asked, “I want to capture this moment.”
You nodded and he pulled his phone from his pocket.
“No camera?” you teased.
“Phone cameras work just as well.”
You looked into the phone's camera and gasped, “Oh my god! I can see your reflection!”
Sunghoon dropped his arm and rolled his eyes, “Shut up with your stupid ass jokes and take a nice photo with me, hex girl.”
You decided to stop teasing him and smiled into the camera.
Sunghoon stared down at the photo of the two of you, the happiness he felt, he could see it written all over his face.
“You know, I’ve never captured something as beautiful as you.”
You looked up at him, “And I’ve never thought I’d have my own personal photographer to take model photos of me.”
“God you’re so annoying.”
Hand in hand, you followed Sunghoon back to the house.
Everyone was awake and stopped everything they were doing in shock at the sight they were seeing.
“Who would have thought,” Jake teased.
Sunghoon tried hard to fight back his smile, “Shut up.”
Everyone laughed and joked along.
You were happy.
The moment you bonded with Sunghoon, you felt the same bond with the others, including your best friend and the humans in the pack.
It wasn’t like your coven, but the bond was still there. You belonged somewhere again.
You looked up at your mate, his smile working numbers on your heart. God you loved him so much already.
But Sunghoon’s smile faded, and so did the other vampire's smiles.
The room fell silent. The humans and you are both confused, clearly not being able to hear what they are hearing.
“Something isn’t right,” Heeseung said quietly.
“Sunghoon?” you take your hand in his.
He squeezed your hand tightly.
Before Sunghoon could open his mouth to speak, you sensed the other presence.
You dropped your mate's hand, and slowly back away.
You looked at your half-blooded friend, she was already looking at you.
“Dorian...” you whispered, “He broke the protection barrier.”
Sunghoon’s jaw clenched, “Guys what do we do?”
Before any more could be said, you and __ were running towards the door.”
“No no no!!” Sunghoon and Jake both yelled, grabbing ahold of you and her.
“Jake, fucking let go of me!!” she screamed.
You also fought off Sunghoon’s grip on your arm, “Let go of me!” you hissed.
“I am not letting you go out there!” He snapped.
You managed to get out of his hold and were out the door.
“Y/N!” Sunghoon yelled, going after you.
__ released Jake’s grip and was following behind.
Everyone else was right behind.
Dorian stood at the edge of the pond, two women standing at his side, and a black portal opened behind him.
You clenched your fist and you stood in front of him at a distance.
“Dorian!” you hissed.
“I see you survived being burned,” he laughed, “You unfortunately didn’t get the fate as your coven did.”
“How dare you speak of them!” You took a step forward, only to be stopped by Sunghoon getting in front of you.
Sunghoon glared down at Dorian, his rage hitting its peak.
Dorian laughed, “Oh this is too good! Two enemies mated? This pack continues to surprise me.” He glances over at your best friend with Jake also at her side, “Ahh, nice to see you again, __. I also see you’ve mated again.”
“Shut up!” the dhampir snapped, “Don’t you dare bring him up!! You murderer!!”
Dorian’s laughter grew louder the more he made eye contact with each member of the pack.
Jungwon and Jay have death grips on their mates. Their eyes narrowed and their jaws clenched.
“I would love to stay and chat up with you guys, but I only came for two of your mates, and that is all.” Dorian looked at the women at his sides, “Ladies will you do the honors?”
The women both smiled and disappeared.
Sunghoon’s eyes widened, those two weren’t like normal vampires.
“He used magic..” you whispered, “He figured out how to read the spells he stole from my coven.”
Dorian’s laughter filled the air and it only made Sunghoon rage even more.
With one blink of an eye, one of the women was at Sunghoon’s side, and then she was gone. She reappeared back at Dorian’s side with you in front of her, a knife pressed against your neck, the sharp edge making a cut, a small stream of blood dripping down.
The other woman reappeared with the dhampir at Dorian’s side.
As if on command, Sunghoon and Jake both rushed forward.
They weren’t thinking clearly. Their brains fogged and only had their sights on their mates.
Heeseung made it in time to grab Sunghoon, pulling him back, and Sunoo for Jake.
“GIVE HER BACK!!” Sunghoon screamed, “FUCKING GIVE HER BACK TO ME.”
“Sunghoon calm down,” Heeseung shouted, “He’s going to kill them both if you take one more step.”
Sunghoon stopped fighting Heeseung, but Sunoo struggled to keep Jake at bay, until Heeseung repeated the same words again, causing Jake to fall to his knees.
“Good,” Dorian said, “Would have been a shame to kill your mates in front of you.”
“What do you want with our pack members!?” Jungwon snapped a low growl leaving his lips when he yelled.
“I have some unfinished business with them,” Dorian stared down at Jungwon’s mate, causing Jungwon to press __ even closer to him, “I have some unfinished business with all of you actually, but Y/N and this dhampir are more important. They have something I need.”
Sunghoon went to take a step, just to be stopped by hearing your whimpers as the knife was pressed harder against your neck.
“Now then,” Dorian turned and faced the portal, “We shall be taking our leave then.”
He stepped through the portal, the women slowly following behind him.
Sunghoon and Jake tried fighting Heeseung and Sunoo again.
Both scream out for their mates.
Sunghoon felt powerless as he watched you disappear through the portal, quickly closing up after you stepped through.
The last thing you saw was the tears that filled Sunghoon’s eyes.
Once you were gone, all Sunghoon could do was fall to his knees, his fingers dug into the dirt as he stared down.
The sounds of Jake’s cries muffled out.
No one ever told Sunghoon how it would feel to have your mate taken from you, to feel the distance of how far they were. The loneliness of them not being at your side.
Sunghoon couldn’t hold in his rage as he let out a yell until his voice was gone and his throat sore.
The last thing Sunghoon remembered was Heeseung pulling him off the ground and dragging him into the house.
Everyone sat in silence the next morning.
Jake sat in the corner of the living room, knees to his chest and head on his knees, tuning out the world.
Sunghoon stared down at the photo of you he had taken with his camera. His hands shook.
“Dorian is going to pay.” Sunghoon said, breaking the silence, “I am going to make him pay for the things he’s done and get my mate back.”

Season of The Witch (5)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Jacob Black x Witch!Reader x Edward Cullen
Word Count: 2.3k
Summary: (Y/n) (L/n) is 19 and still trying to figure out the world. She isn't sure of a lot of things but she is sure of one: she's gonna have her cake and eat it too.
A/N: An Edward dedicated chapter <3
Warnings: N/A but it will be 18+ at some point most likely. Minors and blanks dni. Also I didn't edit any of it so ignore any typos.
As the month went by, you and Jacob were spending a lot more time together. He had taken you to La Push where you had lunch with him and his pack. He’d driven you to the Cliff where Uley and the others would jump during the nights you couldn’t sleep. The two of you would sit there for hours, just staring up at the stars, listening as the water crashed on the jagged rocks below. Those were the nights you enjoyed the most. Where you’d wake up laying beside each other under your coats that he had formed into blankets. He’d always come over for breakfast the next morning, your mom gushing over how sweet he was, dad eyeing him up protectively.
And although you enjoyed every second of it, you also found yourself feeling guilty. You knew you liked Jacob, there wasn’t a single doubt about it. There was a clear connection between you that felt so natural, felt so right. But a lot of times, your mind also went back to Edward. The feeling of his cold hands on your face that day was something you couldn’t forget. He was like a constant presence that loomed in the back of your mind and the very tip of your heart. You had to see him again.
“You okay?” Bella asked, placing a concerned hand on your shoulder. You squeeze the warm mug of hot chocolate in your hand, curling it close to your body. The days were growing colder but you still enjoyed sitting on your porch, watching the bright colored leaves fall from the trees. Sighing, you give her a half smile as you nod.
“I’m okay it’s just..” you trail off, nibbling at your bottom lip as you turn to face her, crossing your legs on the couch. “What do you know about Edward Cullen? I know you mentioned that you’re dating his sister.” you asked. She quirked a brow, staring at you. You squirmed uncomfortably under her gaze.
“Where is this coming from? You’ve never mentioned him before.” she says, an amusement in her tone. You look down at your lap, setting your mug down on the table to your side.
“I-I don’t know. It’s just, I met him a few days after I moved here and I can’t stop thinking about him. With Jacob out patrolling with his pack the past week, it’s given my mind more freedom to wander.” you admit, shrugging your shoulders sheepishly. “I just feel so guilty, I really like Jacob but…”
“Hey, why don’t you come over with me to the Cullen’s place tonight? I was going to go over there anyways, maybe then you’ll know if it’s just a crush or a passing thing.” she suggested, rubbing your arm affectionately. You play with your rings for a moment before agreeing.
“It couldn’t hurt. Plus, I’m not doing myself any favors pouting in my room about not being able to see Jake.” the two of you had been texting in his absence but, it wasn’t as good as having the real thing there with you. “I’m going to need to change first because this,” you point at yourself, motioning to your baggy sweatpants, sweatshirt, and bunny slippers, “Isn’t doing me any favors.” you and Bella share a laugh as she rolls her eyes.
“You’re so extra sometimes. It’s not like you’re meeting the pope.” you gasp at the accusation, hopping up from the couch.
“Meeting a house full of vampires is a huge deal, Bells! The better I look the less likely they are to wanna drink my oh so rare and delicious witchy blood! Or at least I hope.” You grab her hand, dragging her into the house and up the stairs. “I promise it won’t take long! Just an hour…or two.”
“Or two?!”
Tumblr media
An hour and a half later, you and Bella are hopping out of her red truck. You pull your cardigan closer to yourself, priming your appearance in the reflection on the body of the vehicle. As the two of you approach the door, a blonde man opens the door. He smiles at Bella before smiling at you too. He extends a hand which you shake.
“Carlisle Cullen. I work with your father down at the hospital.” he explains, you nod along searching for words to say.
“Nice to meet you. Dad says you’re great at what you do.” you compliment.
“That’s great to hear. In all my years, I’ve never seen someone as great and passionate about what they do. He’s got me beat for sure.” he responds humbly. You can tell he’s a very kind and composed man. You hope you can say the same for the rest of his family. Carlisle opens the door wider, stepping to the side for the two of you to enter.
A brunette woman comes down the stairs. She sniffs the air before letting out a pleasured sigh. “A witch. I haven’t smelled one of those in years. My goodness that is divine.” she says before walking towards you. You freeze, going to lift your hand in case she decides to attack you. However, she doesn’t. Instead, she gives you a quick hug before releasing you. “I’m Esme, Carlisle’s wife. It’s nice to finally meet you.” Finally? Before you can ask what she means, a blur runs up to you hugging you in a much more intense fashion. You feel like your bones are gonna snap before she releases you. She has a soft grip on your shoulders as she smiles at you full of glee.
“You’re the girl!” she squeals out excitedly.
“Um, I’m sorry?” you ask confused. A set of approaching footsteps catches your attention. Your heart flutters at the sight of Edward, leaning against the wall with his arms crossed. He gives you a once over before your eyes lock on each other.
“That’s Alice. She can see the future.” he states. You nod before turning back towards Alice who’s still looking at you with excitement.
“I saw you coming before you were even in town!” you nod, understanding her former words now. Her eyes grow distant as if she’s seeing something before she stumbles back a bit. She looks from you, to the necklace Jacob had given you around your neck, and back to Edward again. “You’re going to have your hands quite full!” with that she runs from you over to Bella. You watch as she lifts her, spinning her in the air as she gives her a loving kiss. She then leans down to her ear whispering something. Bella’s eyes grow wide as she looks at you before turning her attention back to Alice.
Edward grabs your shoulder, turning you to face him. “I’m sure they’re going to be like that for a while. Would you like a tour?” he asks. You nod, playing with your fingers shyly.
“I’d like that.”
Tumblr media
As your tour concludes, you end up in the entrance to Edward’s room. The shelves are lined with CDs. A lot of them are classical ones but a few of them are some names you recognize. You pick up Favorite Worst Nightmare by the Arctic Monkeys, removing it from its case before popping it into the player. You turn around at the sound of Edward closing the door. He motions for you to sit on the chase in the room and as you do, he sits with you.
“Your house is beautiful by the way. I mean, I wouldn’t be able to get a wink with all the windows but…I guess that isn’t an issue for you. Sorry, is that offensive? I didn’t mean it lik-” he squeezes your thigh gently and you stop rambling. He smiles softly, shaking his head.
“You’ve been doing your research clearly. Don’t worry, you couldn’t offend me even if you tried. I don’t think I could ever be mad at you.” he says, dragging the back of his hand down the side of your cheek. Your eyes flutter close for a moment before opening as he begins to speak again. “I’ve been thinking about you all month. I wanted to come and see you again but anytime I got close to your house, there was the overwhelming stench of dog.” he says, his nose twisting up at the thought. “Not even your scent could mask it.” you look down at your chest, playing with the wolf pendant around your neck. You miss how he looks at it in disdain.
“Jacob’s nice, you know. I think you guys could be friends even if there wasn’t a natural hatred between the two of you.” you explain, looking back up at him. “A-and the feeling is mutual. I’ve been thinking about you more than I’d like to admit.” he scoots closer to you, a smirk present on his face.
“Why don’t you embrace it? Clearly something is drawing us closer to one another. I think that’s a beautiful thing.” he mutters. His face slowly inches closer and closer. He brushes some of your hair. Your heart thumps wildly in nerves and anticipation. You think he’s going to kiss you until he places a kiss on your cheek instead. Goosebumps trail up and down along your spine. “Relax, I’m not going to steal your first kiss from you. At least not yet.” he whispers in your ear before pulling back to look at your face. You splutter a bit as he chuckles.
“That is so not funny!” you exclaim, swatting him in the chest. He’s got a smug grin on his face, revealing his sharp canines.
“No. But, you’re very cute when you’re nervous.” flipping him off, you lean your back onto the cold glass of the window, attempting to cool yourself down. He watches you, grabbing one of your hands. You don’t pull it away, allowing him to hold it. You let out a faux cough, looking away from him as you turn your eyes back to the cds in front of you.
“So, you like music? I see most of it classical aside from a few albums. Is that by choice or lack of knowledge?” you question, turning your attention back to him.
“A bit of both. I’ve tried branching out before, it’s just kind of hard to find things I enjoy with how vast music is now.” he explains. You hum, nodding.
“You know, I could burn you a few tapes. Since you seem adverse to the world of modern technology.” you tease. He rolls his eyes.
“I’m not adverse to it. Music just always sounds better on tape. The vocals are much richer and you can truly hear the tones.” Only Ones Who Know comes on. It was always one of your favorites off the album. You sway a bit, mouthing the lyrics to it. Edward stands up, offering you a hand. You shake your head.
“Nu uh, no way.” he ignores your protest, yanking you up. You trip a bit, stabling your hands on his shoulders. Reluctantly, you begin to sway in sync with him. It’s a very simplified waltz as he spins you around slowly, dipping you down. Your foreheads are pressed together before he puts you back up right. He holds your hand up and you reluctantly spin, laughing as you fall forward into his chest. He wraps his arms around your waist, holding you there, your hands pressed against his chest. It’s as if time freezes as the two of you stand there. You’ve been there for a while, the last track on the album playing.
“Alice is thinking of asking Bella to stay the night. Would you allow me the honor of taking you home?” Edward asks hopefully, pulling back to look at you. You pretend to think on it for a long time as he shakes you gently.
“Alright, alright! Yes, you can take me home. Which car is- woah!” you shout as he swings you onto his back at a super human speed before jumping out of the window on the far side. “Holy shit can you warn a girl next time?!”
“So there will be a next time then?” his tone is laced with playfulness as he runs through the trees.
“That is so not the point here!”
Tumblr media
As you arrive at the back of your house, Edward jumps with you onto the balcony. You hop off his back, facing him as you back away towards the door. You lean against it as he rest against the railing.
“Tonight was fun. I hope we can hang out like this again soon.” you say, staring down at your boots. Edward rushes forward, tilting your chin up with a finger. He’s got the same dopey smile on his face that’s barely left it all night.
“We will. Your dad is planning on asking mine if he wants to come over for the big game this Friday. But, I’d like to see you again before that.” he says. You wrap your hand around his, laying it on top of your cheek.
“I’d like that.” you purr out. He squeezes your cheek before hopping off the balcony only to return with a daisy. He tucks it behind your ear, winking before running off once more into the night. You hear your phone ping in your pocket. Taking it out you see a notification from Edward.
Edward 🦇: Put my number in your phone before I left. It was a pleasure seeing you again. I hope your dreams are filled with me because my thoughts will be occupied by you.
(Y/n): You’ve made an appearance in them from time to time but mostly it’s just cute animals. And being naked in my old high school...
You change into your pajamas before flopping on the bed, screaming into your pillow. If anything, tonight just made things more complicated. There wasn’t a doubt about how you felt for either of them. You had a romantic interest in both of them. It wasn’t love yet but with the way things were going, you knew it was heading there, regardless of if you asked your heart to stop.

A farewell leads to many tears and emotions as Jake departs from his short-lived visit to Maryland. The appearance of the ‘L’ word makes the feelings even more complicated as Jake leaves his witchy woman behind, then beginning their countdown for Atlanta. Little do they know the calm before the storm is rapidly coming to an end.

Pairing: jake kiszka x f!reader
Word count: 8.1k
Warnings: SMUT 18+ (like right under the cut), unprotected sex (wrap it up), fingering (f!receiving), oral (f!receiving), oral (m!receiving), slapping, hair pulling, some begging, dom/sub type shit, overstimulation, slight name calling, mirror sex (idk if there’s a name for that), swearing, sad stuff, a bit of angst, ldr issues, cute brotherly activities, sorry if i miss any!!
i just couldn’t wait to write the smut for any longer 😞 so most of this is just filthy with some fluff at the end. next chapter is a heartbreaker so pre-warning for that. also, sorry if the smut isn’t top notch, I stopped writing it for a really long time and im just recently getting back into it. also thank you all so much for the love you’ve given to this series, you make my heart happy 🫶🏻 as always, enjoy, be kind, and don’t mind any grammar mistakes!
“How long?” You panted, looking across your bed to the alarm clock on your side table. Jakes fingers were fumbling with the button on your jeans, desperate to get you out of them.
“Two hours,” he mumbled, hauling your hips off the mattress. You held the position, making it easier for him to slip your pants off. He tossed them on the ground, hands immediately finding their way back to your body. His fingertips brushed over your bare thighs, sending a shiver down your spine.
“Do we have time?” You questioned. He paused, looking up at you through his hair.
“Do you want me to stop?” The look in his eyes sent a rush of emotion straight to the pit of your stomach. You managed a small shake of your head. “Didn’t think so.” He resumed his earlier work, hooking his fingers through your panties and pulling them off in the same manor as your jeans. You sat up, catching him off guard for a moment. You reached for the bottom of his t-shirt, letting him know you wanted it off. He didn’t move, only watched you. You learned the hard way he was never willing to give you what you wanted so easily. You challenged him, refusing to lay back down and continuing to try and rid him of his t-shirt. He grabbed your wrists in his hands, forcing them away from his body. “Behave,” He warned. Before he returned to touching you, he swiftly took his shirt off. You were well aware that even if you were bratty with him, you were likely to get what you wanted eventually. He had a hard time saying no to you.
You backed down, letting your hands fall on your stomach as you laid back again. “I just want you, Jake.” You whispered, looking up at him with an innocent look in your eyes. He let out a long exhale through his nose, closing his eyes for a moment to contain himself. He bent down over you, pulling you chin up gently, and pressed his lips to yours. You savoured the sweetness, aware that it wouldn’t last for very long. Not that you minded, of course. He slipped his hands under your shirt, pulling it upwards. You lifted your back from the bed, allowing him to slip it over your head. When you were completely naked, he leaned down and placed another kiss on your lips. Before he broke away, he pulled your bottom lip between his teeth, applying just enough pressure to cause a gasp from you, but not enough to hurt you.
It was Jake’s last day in Maryland, and the fear of being alone again was taking hold of you like never before. You both had just returned from your last breakfast date, wasting no time trying to enjoy each other in the most intimate way possible. In the time he spent there, he’d gotten to know all of your siblings and roommates. You were lucky enough to really get to know his brothers, too. More than anything, it felt like a dream come true. You’d all managed to become your own little family within a few short days. You’d even brought Jake to breakfast with your parents, wanting nothing more than for him to meet them, too. He fit in like he was always meant to be a part of your life, and everyone adored him almost as much as you did. The acceptance from your family made it so much easier to love him, but it wasn’t like you had trouble with it in the first place.
After making it official the night he’d arrived, you wasted no time catching up on the weeks you’d missed out on. In short, that really meant that you were glued to the hip with Jake, and that you were having sex any time you got the chance. The first time it was pretty vanilla, both too nervous to overstep any boundaries. It didn’t take long for the dynamic to shift, realizing quickly that both of you wanted more than that. That lead to a long, intense conversation about the do’s and don’ts in the bedroom, which then lead to a lot of experimenting in the little time you had with him. As sad as you were that Jake was leaving, a small part of you was relieved that you’d have a chance to give your body a break. Although you were worn down, you had to admit the sex was fantastic; better than any you’d ever had. He was very selfless, even if he was quite dominant. He wasn’t concerned about himself until you got off, first.
“How many times do you think I can get you off before I go?” There was a smirk adorned on his face, now. Cockiness was radiating from him. You thought it might be fun to play with him a bit.
“If you can get me off at all.” You teased. The joking tone in his features disappeared immediately, replaced with something you couldn’t quite read.
“Watch it, or I won’t fuck you. I’ll get on that plane and leave you here like this.” He taunted, voice low. You felt a rush of arousal run through you, suddenly aware of the aching between your legs, desperate to be touched by him. You knew he didn’t mean it, but you weren’t willing to call his bluff. When you didn’t answer, he traced his fingers over the inside of your thigh, using a small amount of force to push your leg to the side. Your breath caught in your throat as he inched closer to your heat, trying hard to avoid letting him know how eager you were. He noticed the small reaction, a smile creeping on to his lips. He ensured that he studied every intimate detail about you over the last few days, wanting to know you better than anyone else ever had. “You wouldn’t want that, would you?” You shook your head, eyes glued to his face. His jaw clenched slightly, landing a small smack to your thigh. “Use your words.”
“N-no, Jake.” He cocked his head to the side, raising his eyebrow. He lifted his hand, removing his touch from you completely before you realized your mistake. “No, sir.” You said a bit more confidently.
“That’s it, baby.” He sighed, resuming his touch on your thigh. He inched closer to you, on his knees between your legs. His bottom half was still fully clothed, making you believe that the situation was a bit unfair. His erection stood prominently against the fabric of his jeans, begging for attention. You stopped yourself from reaching out for him again, knowing that it wouldn’t get you anywhere. He was nothing if not stubborn in the bedroom. His fingers reached your cunt, running them through your folds and gathering the wetness, clearly pleased at what he was doing to you. “All of this is for me?” He hummed, spreading your arousal to your clit and rubbing feather light, slow circles. The friction was minuscule, but any touch from him was enough to give you satisfaction. You let out a quiet moan, making Jake’s movements stutter. Before, he believed he’d already heard the prettiest sounds in the world. After hearing your moans, he was confident that no sound could ever compare.
He applied a bit more pressure, watching your face for a reaction. When you pulled your bottom lip between your teeth, he was pleased enough to slip a finger in you. It was painfully slow, barely enough to give you any relief, but you kept your mouth shut. All it took was one wrong word and he would stop completely, and that was the last thing you wanted. Eventually, he added another finger, pumping slowly while his thumb brushed over your clit. You let in a sharp breath, finally feeling a bit of alleviation from his movements. He leaned down, mouth ghosting over your exposed collarbones. He landed on a spot he’d become very acquainted with, sucking little marks into the skin. By now, you were already covered in them. He just wanted to leave you with a reminder of his mouth. His teeth grazed over the sensitive surface. The feeling, mixed with the movement of his hands, caused you to buck your hips forward. You tried to stop it but he’d already noticed. Instead of chastising you for it, he let his mouth fall downwards onto your breast, pulling one of your nipples between his teeth. His tongue flicked over it, eliciting another soft sound from your mouth.
You were certain that if he got any harder, the zipper of his jeans would give way. His cock was pressing into your leg, involuntarily searching for a bit of pleasure himself. “Please let me touch you, Jake.” You pleaded. He hummed against your skin, but didn’t stop. Instead, he picked up his pace, distracting you from the fact you spoke at all.
“I’m gonna miss seeing you like this.” His head advanced down your torso, breath tickling your stomach as he spoke. He stopped at your navel, placing a sloppy kiss before he continued. He explored around the area, placing kisses and love bites over your hipbones, teasing you to the breaking point. He moved down further, working at your thighs now. You bit your tongue, not willing to make a noise. He was ready to give in, wanting to taste you almost as badly as he liked teasing you, and you didn’t want to do anything to make him stop. Your breathing was ragged and your body was nearly vibrating with anticipation. “How are you feeling?” He asked, noticing your state. He backed off for a moment, looking up at you.
“Green.” You assured him. His eyes lingered over your face, making sure you were being honest. You gave him a small smile and a slight nod, silently telling him it was okay.
“You’re being s’good for me, baby.” He breathed. “You wanna cum?” He asked. You gave a desperate nod, hoping that his kindness was genuine.
“Yes, please, sir.” You said, voice shaking slightly. You couldn’t believe how easy it was for him to turn you into a mess. He was quick to return to his place between your thighs. He pulled his thumb off your clit, replacing it with his mouth. You gave a gasp of surprise, not expecting him to give in so easily. His fingers curled with every re-entry, hitting such a delicate spot, making it nearly impossible for you to keep yourself quiet. You reached for his head, tangling your hands in his hair as he worked at you. Your hips raised off the bed to meet his mouth, only encouraging him to work harder. “Fuck, Jake.” You cried, feeling your orgasm creeping up on you. He hummed against you, making the sensation of his mouth even more intense.
He pulled back, slipping his thumb up to replace his tongue. His eyes were fixated on your face, desperate to see your expression. When you caught his gaze, the sight alone was enough to send you over the edge. His eyelids were heavy, pupils blown with lust. His chin was glistening with your arousal, and his lips were parted slightly, watching you in awe. Even when he was playing the dominant act, he still looked at you like you were the prettiest he’d ever seen. No, he looked at you like he was the luckiest man on earth. His silent encouragement caused your climax to hit you with full intensity. You stuttered out his name, legs shaking and eyes screwed shut. His breathing was heavy but his expression was stony, almost as if he didn’t want you to know how much you were affecting him. When you started to come down from your high, you noticed that he wasn’t stopping. A touch of panic settled in your chest, beginning to feel the searing sensitivity taking over. “I- Jake,” you stuttered over your words, not being able to focus on what you were saying. He was upright again, one hand working at the buckle on his belt and the other one working at you.
“You’re okay, baby.” He promised. You managed a shake of your head. The pleasure had begun to taper off into pain, and although not completely unbearable, just extremely unpleasant.
“Yellow.” You warned. His motion almost completely stopped, allowing you to catch your breath. His domineering exterior softened, thumb just barely moving over your bundle of nerves. The pumping of his fingers had halted indefinitely. “I’m sorry.” You mustered, finally feeling in control again.
“Don’t be sorry.” He replied. “If you’re not having a good time, neither am I.” The reassurance was nice, calming your anxiety. The circles he’d been tracing into your clit started to feel more pleasant, making the moment of discomfort disappear.
“Okay, green.” You sighed. He didn’t change his movement.
“Not yet, baby. Give yourself a minute.” He said, finally freeing his belt from his jeans. He tossed it to the side. It landed with a thud on the end of the mattress. He leaned down, cupping your cheek in his palm. He placed a sweet kiss to your lips, assuring you that he was still your Jake, and you were in complete control if you wanted to be. It was nice, how aware he was of your boundaries, but you weren’t thrown off enough to want to stop. All you needed was a second to breathe. While he was distracted by your kiss, you took the opportunity to reach out for the bulge in his jeans. You palmed him through the fabric, causing him to buck his hips forward into your hand.
“Please take your clothes off.” You begged, words muffled against his lips. He withdrew his mouth from yours, and a shift in his demeanour was viable.
“You’re so fucking needy.” He spat, sweetness disappearing once again. He pulled back from you, cutting all contact and giving you a hard stare. “Do you really want me to fuck you that bad?” He wasn’t willing to wait for an answer, already unbuttoning his jeans and pulling down his zipper. You sat up, swinging your feet off the side of the bed, practically vibrating with excitement. With a swift motion, his jeans were off and he had kicked them somewhere behind him. “Are you going to answer me?” He grabbed your face, forcing you to look up at him.
“Yes, sir.” You whispered.
“I wanted to give you a good time,” he muttered, grip tightening on your cheeks “to make you cum until you forgot your own name.” He explained, using his other hand to free himself from his boxers. “But it just seems like you’re asking to be punished. Is that what you want?” You didn’t respond, only watched him with the same wide-eyed expression you adorned earlier. This time, it wasn’t doing the trick. He let go of your face, delivering a sharp slap to your cheek. It wasn’t hard enough to hurt you, but enough to leave a lasting sting. “How many times do I have to tell you to use your words?”
“No, sir. I just want you.” You decided obedience was the key to getting what you so badly wanted. He didn’t respond, only delicately traced the red mark he’d left on your face.
“You’re so beautiful,” he whispered, making you believe he’d broken character again. “Even if you are a little whore.” His hand found the back of your head, gripping your hair in his fist. “If you want me so bad, work for it.” He ordered. Your eyes fell on his now exposed cock, mouth watering at the sight. He guided your head forward until you were nearly touching his head with your lips. “Color?” He whispered.
“Green. Very green.” You promised.
“If you want to stop just tap my leg.”
“Okay, I will.” You knew he needed a verbal response when it had anything to do with consent, and you appreciated it. With that, he barely gave you time to open your mouth before he was thrusting forward. You couldn’t stop yourself from gagging when he hit the back of your throat. It seemed like he was almost pleased with the noise, gripping your hair and pushing your head down as he fucked your mouth. You slackened your jaw, trying to take him as best you could, but his size was admittedly a little hard to handle.
He lost himself to the pleasure, his head falling back and his eyes closing in bliss. The moans he allowed to escape his mouth were beautiful motivations. He looked back down, watching himself thrust into you. You eyes caught his, letting out a muffled moan at the frenzied look he adorned. His hips stuttered, pushing you as far down on his cock as you could take him. Your eyes watered, feeling your throat contact around him. He rested there for a moment before pulling back entirely. You let in a gasp for air, spit trailing from your lips down to your chin. You figured he wanted to last longer, so he didn’t want to push his luck. He didn’t say anything before he knelt down before you, settling between your thighs again and throwing one of your legs over his shoulder. He grabbed your hip, pulling you forward on the bed and onto his mouth. You were still trying to catch your breath, dissolving into a fit of desperate moans at the feeling of his mouth again.
He worked fast, not wanting to play with you anymore. He was stroking himself while he licked at your clit. The hand that was holding your leg reached up, pulling your hardened nipple between his fingers, rolling and pinching it gently. You couldn’t help but grind your hips against his tongue, frantic for more. You were embarrassed at how fast he could bring you to an orgasm. He looked up at you, removing his lips from your cunt just for a second. “Do you want to cum in my mouth this time?” You let out a whiny noise, nodding your head. “Beg for it.” He growled.
“Please, Sir. Please let me cum, I want it so bad.” He resumed his pace at your core, driven by your pleas. You were panting, dangerously close to the edge once again. His thumb and forefinger clamped down hard on your nipple, causing you to gasp. He wanted you to keep begging for him. “M’so close, Jake.” You breathed. “Please don’t stop, please.” His tongue remained steady, eager to taste your release when it came.
It only took a few seconds of constant stimulation before you were gripping the bedsheets, crying out his name. He rode you through the orgasm, his previously firm hold on your breast loosening, fingers now gently caressing down your rib cage. When the tension left your body, he ran his tongue through your folds one last time, savouring the feeling. You let out a sigh of relief as he stood, knowing he wasn’t going to test your endurance after the last orgasm. He didn’t coddle you, but instead delivered a slap to your thigh, the sound echoing off the walls. “Up.” He spat, more than ready to fuck you. You did as you were told, although slightly wobbly on your feet when you stood upright. He guided you to the end of the bed, taking a seat on the edge. You weren’t completely sure why he changed spots, but didn’t take long piecing it together. He grabbed your hand and pulled you in front of him. His breathing was heavy, letting you know he was close to his own breaking point. He spun you around and your eyes fell on your full length mirror, sitting directly in front of you. He guided you back carefully by your hips, allowing you to get yourself comfortable before anything else. You placed your legs on either side of him, easing into him. Your back pressed against his chest, the warmth soothing you almost instantly. He lined his cock up with you and pushed you down on him slowly.
His chin rested on your shoulder, eyes locked on the mirror before you. You waited a moment, enjoying the feeling of him inside you. He peppered a few light kisses over your shoulder, appreciating you, too. He slowly guided you back up, silently telling you he didn’t want to wait any longer. You set a steady pace, rolling your hips back on him every time you lowered yourself. He reached around you, fingers making easy work finding your clit. He’d become well acquainted with it over the last few days. You groaned, feeling the tip of his cock press against your cervix with every re-entry. His eyes never left the reflection in the mirror, watching you ride him and storing the image in his mind. He noticed your closed eyes, your head pointed towards the ground.
“Hey,” he caught your attention “look at the mirror.” He ordered. You did as you were told, feeling a bit of a blush dust your cheeks at the sight. You’d never watched yourself have sex before, feeling a bit shy being on such a display for him. “Watch me fuck you. I want you to think about it while I’m gone.” He hissed. The pad of his finger felt painfully good as it circled your bundle of nerves; you weren’t sure how long you could last. Every part of your body was on fire with sensitivity. You did as he said, letting him take control again. He fucked into you while he admired you in the reflection. The expressions you were making, the way your breasts bounced when he pulled you down on him, the noises falling from your lips. All of it was driving him crazy. He was certain there was no better sight in the world.
The look of his face in the mirror was more than enough to drive you crazy. The determined look in his eye that was clouded with pleasure, the furrow of his eyebrows, and the glisten of sweat on his forehead were all an indication that he was close to his own orgasm, but he wasn’t ready to finish yet. He wanted to enjoy you like this for as long as he could before he had to leave. In an attempt to last a little longer, he pulled you off him, standing up quickly. He turned you around so you were facing the bed, grabbing your hair and pushing your head down towards the mattress. He kicked your feet apart slightly, holding you steady so you didn’t fall. You used your arms to support yourself, forearms planted firmly on the mattress.
Just as he was about to push into you, a knock sounded on your bedroom door. He let himself rest on your entrance, giving you a light tap on your ass, telling you he wanted you to answer. “What?” You called out, trying to keep your voice steady.
“Is Jake in there?” You heard Jake give a small chuckle.
“Yeah, why?” You asked, feeling your boyfriends hand caressing over your lower back, gently tickling the skin.
“Oh, Josh just wanted me to make sure he was ready to go. Can I come in?” You now placed the voice to a person, realizing it was Jakes youngest brother. You felt your face burn red, not sure how to answer. He gripped the hair at the base of your skull a bit tighter, getting impatient at your lack of an answer.
“Oh, um, we’re just a bit busy at the moment.” You told him, trailing off at the end, completely unsure of what the best answer would be.
“Oh, it’ll just take a second.” Sam assured you. You let out a nervous laugh, awkwardness eating you alive.
“Busy, Sam.” Jake snapped, hoping he’d get the message.
“O-oh,” you could hear a giggle in his tone. “Sorry to interrupt.” He snickered. You listened to his footsteps disappear down the hall, embarrassment taking over. You turned your head around, looking at Jake over your shoulder and giving him a glare. Jake only smiled, forcing your head back towards the mattress. There was no time for discussion, because he was already burying himself in you again. You were quick to forget about the disturbance, immediately brought back into the intoxicating pleasure of him being inside you.
There was no grace period, this time. His hips were slamming into you harder with every thrust, pushing you to the brink of pain each time. You overlooked it, focusing on the intense feeling of him hitting the spot inside you only he seemed to know how to find. Jake was working hard, pushing you closer to another orgasm with every second that passed. You noticed he was close, too. His breathing was ragged and he wasn’t as collected as he usually was, curses and groans falling from his mouth unprecedented.
“Being so good for me, baby.” The praise sent a rush of emotion through you. “You gonna cum again?”
“Y-yes, sir.” You stuttered, wishing that you could see his face. He leaned down, pulling your head to the side to connect his lips with yours. Your body relaxed, comforted at the familiar feeling. You let out a small moan into his mouth, causing his hips to stutter for a moment. When he pulled back, he kept his head by yours, wanting to be close to you.
“Come on, baby.” He encouraged you. “One more, you can do it.” He almost sounded like he was begging you. You let your eyes flutter closed, letting yourself fall into the pleasure. Not long after, the burning in your belly reached its peak. You let out a slur of swears, clenching around him as you came. He straightened up, finding the energy to keep going, fuelled solely by the noises you were making. When you came down from the high, he was still fucking into you at a relentless pace. You covered your mouth with your hand, muffling the screams that were begging to be let out.
Jake had his jaw clenched, practically feral at the state you were in. He wanted to finish, but the cocky part of him wanted to see how far he could push you. The intensity of the feeling was driving you crazy, but it was much more bearable than before. “J-Jake, Jake,” you cried, trying to keep your voice quiet. “I ca- I don’t think I can…”
“Colour.” He ordered, hips never faltering. His voice was low and gravelly, laced with authority. You couldn’t answer, feeling the familiar knot form in your stomach again. “Colour, y/n.” He repeated, louder this time, needing to hear an answer.
“G-green.” You assured him, starting to lose yourself to the blissfulness again. That was all he needed to hear, any of his hesitation completely disappearing. His hand that had been resting on your hip tightened, fingers driving into the skin so deep that you were anticipating bruises. The thought of it only turned you on more, relieved to know that once he was gone the marks could remind you of him. “Jake, I think I’m gonna-“
“Don’t tell me, just do it.” He barked, cutting you off without caring about your warning. “Give me something to think about when I get to the hotel tonight.” Your teeth clamped down on your lip, holding back your moans. Tears were forming in the corners of your eyes, the intensity of the pleasure completely taking over. Your whole body was on fire, begging for you to let it rest, but the impending orgasm was screaming over it, allowing you to ignore the hesitation.
“Fuck!” You cried, no longer able to contain yourself.
“That’s my girl.” He hummed. The climax was brutally strong, the tears threatening your eyes finally spilling over and your legs wobbling. He could tell you were having a hard time keeping yourself upright, so he slipped his arm under you, holding your hips up so you didn’t have to worry about it. You couldn’t collect yourself, feeling lightheaded and tired. Luckily, Jake caught on pretty fast. He reached his own orgasm only seconds after you, groaning and pulling you back on to him as he spilled into you. He held you there, chest heaving with every breath, completely played out, too. Before pulling out, he gently fucked his release into you a few times, watching himself intently, admiring the sight as he did so.
When he withdrew, he made sure to keep hold of you, not sure if your legs had the strength to keep you standing. You let out a long sigh, skin still tingling with the ghost of pleasure. “Come on, baby.” Jake prompted you to stand, aiding you as you did so. His arm was still tightly wrapped around you as he pulled you into him, his chest hitting your bare back. You shivered at the contact, letting your head fall back and rest on his shoulder. He kept you there for a moment before guiding you to lay on the bed. He searched around the room, trying to find something to clean you off with. Eventually, he gave up and pulled a pair of sweatpants from his bag, slipping them on. He left, making sure the door was closed tightly behind him.
He returned with a washcloth, clicking the lock on the door behind him. He took a seat beside you, making gentle work at wiping away the mess he’d made. Your legs twitched at the contact, making him realize that he might’ve pushed you a little too hard. He threw the cloth on the floor, making a mental note that he’d throw it in your laundry basket later. For the time being, he was only concerned about you. He ran his thumb over your cheek, softly wiping away any trace of the tears that had fallen. “Are you okay?”
“Yeah,” you breathed, looking up at him hovering over you. “More than okay.” You promised. A small smile appeared on his lips as he leaned down to kiss you.
“You wanna get dressed?” He asked. You gave him a slight nod. He stood again, rummaging around in his bag. He pulled out a sweater for you, knowing the only reason he’d brought it was so he could leave it with you. He set it beside you on the mattress, searching around your room for a more comfortable pair of pants. He found an old pair of sweats in your dresser and a new pair of underwear. He placed them beside you, too, reaching his hand out to help you stand. With his assistance, you got yourself dressed and returned back to the bed.
You nestled in by the pillows, checking the clock again, only to find your time with him was quickly running out. “I don’t want you to go.” You whispered, feeling your stomach sink. He got in next to you, pulling you into his chest.
“I know, baby.” He brushed his fingers through your hair. You listened to the sound of his heartbeat, wishing you could memorize it and keep it in your brain forever. “I don’t want to leave, either.” You both fell into a silence, the ticking of the clock antagonizing you in the background.
“Are you ready to go?” You asked, not daring to move.
“Yeah, everything is packed. Well, except for the clothes on the floor… and you.” He murmured, hand falling to your upper back. He rubbed slow circles into it with his palm, nearly soothing you to sleep. You let your eyes close, enjoying the warmth from his body for as long as you could.
“We’ll see each other soon,” you sounded like you were trying to convince yourself, too.
“If we can make it until you’re finished school, I promise you that I’ll buy you the biggest house you could dream of. We’ll never worry about distance again.” You felt tears stinging your eyes again, but this time they weren’t out of bliss. “It’ll have a big backyard, we’ll get a dog, and I’ll even give you my last name. If you’ll let me, of course.” You couldn’t help but laugh, even though the tears were forcing their way out.
“You’ve got big plans, then, rockstar.”
“Not plans, promises.” He corrected. “I’d give you the whole world, if you asked me to.”
“You already do.” You told him, and you meant it. The whole relationship was a whirlwind, and you had never fallen for someone so fast before. But, he treated you better than anyone ever had, too. He was the exception to your rule about dating, and you were beyond grateful you’d given him a chance. He was the first person who was ever willing to give you the same amount of love you gave him. The hurt from before seemed to make sense, now, because it lead you to him. If the universe wanted you to meet him so badly that it allowed you to cross paths twice out of sheer coincidence, then you were certain you should at least let it run its course.
He held you until an alarm went off on his phone, signalling that it was time to pack their stuff into the car and get to the airport. The tears didn’t stop, and only got worse as you got out of bed and he gathered the last of his stuff together. You had to look away as he slung his bag over his shoulder. You grabbed your car keys from your desk, staring at the worn down wood, trying not to look at him. You knew it would only make it worse. “Hey,” he mumbled, walking behind you and placing his hand on your waist. He pulled you towards him, but didn’t force you to look at him. He rested his cheek on the side of your head, fully wrapping his arms around you now. He snaked his hands under the front of the sweater, resting them above the waistband of the pants, just wanting to feel your skin on him again. You couldn’t help but giggle at the tickle of his fingers on your stomach, even if it was a sad one. “We’re gonna be okay.” He whispered.
“I know.” You brought your hands up to rest them over his. “Doesn’t mean I can’t miss you.” You sniffled, trying to calm yourself down.
“You don’t have to miss me, yet. I’m still here.” You gave a small nod, finally turning to face him. He smiled, looking over your features for a moment. He raised his hand, lifting your chin with his index finger and landing a kiss on your lips. He rested his forehead on yours when he pulled away, pushing your hair from your face. He let his hand rest on the back of your neck, quickly moving down and peppering kisses over your cheeks and nose. You dissolved into a fit of laugher, almost able to forget about the ache in your chest.
“Let’s go, rockstar. I don’t want Josh to think I’m trying to hold you hostage.” He nodded, breaking away from you but taking your hand in his. “Also, Sam is never going to let me live that down, is he?” It was Jakes turn to laugh now.
“He’ll tease you for a while, I’ll tell him to shut up, then he’ll forget about it when something else interesting happens. It’s always been that way.” He explained, leading you to the door. He opened it for you, letting you exit first.
“So that’s a common occurrence for you, then?” You joked. He shook his head.
“No, not at all. But, we have lived together our whole lives, and now instead of having separate rooms to hide away in, there’s a lot of time spent on the tour bus. Privacy between all of us doesn’t really exist.” You nodded along to his words. “Usually, once we clue in that someone’s doing something private, we fuck off and don’t speak about it.” He chuckled.
“It must suck sometimes, doesn’t it?” You questioned.
“Yeah, sometimes, but they’re my best friends. It’s kind of cool getting to hang out and work with them all of the time, even if it does get annoying. We stay in hotels a lot more often, now, so that kind of eases the tension. If we don’t want to talk to each other, we just don’t answer the door.” He laughed.
“Fair enough.” You smiled. You made your way to the living room, seeing everyone crowded around and saying goodbyes. All of Jakes brothers had their bags, ready to head out as soon as you were. They were chatting with your brothers and roommates, too enthralled in conversation to notice that you joined them. “Ready to go?” You asked, catching their attention. Josh’s eyes lit up at the sight of you.
“Excellent! I thought we would have to break down the door to get him out of there.” He joked.
“Not this time.” You assured him. “Maybe next time, though.” Josh studied your face, giving a sympathetic smile at your puffy eyes and red nose. “Everybody get their goodbye’s out. I don’t want you to miss your flight.” You were lying, but they didn’t need to know that. Jake went around the group, giving hugs to your roommates and shaking your brothers hands. You watched, sadness encasing your features. Josh joined you, wrapping an arm around your shoulders.
“You’re coming to Atlanta, right?” He whispered. You gave a small nod, not wanting to think about how far away it was. “Good, because he’s been out of his mind with excitement. He really likes you.”
“I really like him.” You practically scoffed. That was putting it lightly.
“No, I don’t think you get it.” Josh chuckled. “He’s never been this crazy for anyone.” You felt your heart flutter at the statement.
“Me either.” You admitted.
“We’re really excited to have you there with us, too.” He assured you. You wrapped your arm around him now, too, leaning into his touch.
“Thanks for coming, Josh.” You looked over to him, giving him a small smile. “And thank you for being so accepting. I know he’s your twin, but he’s your best friend, too, and you probably hold the girlfriends to pretty high standards.”
“Wasn’t hard, mama. He adores you, and I can see why.” He gave your arm a squeeze. “And if it makes you feel any better, you’ve been my favourite one of his girlfriends by far. That’s not even a question.” You felt the tears prickling your eyes again. “You make him really happy. Way happier than anyone else has, and you’ve only been in his life for a little while. If he’s happy, so are we. He talks about you like you put the stars in the sky.” You didn’t have time to respond, because Jake was making his way back over to you. Josh loosened his grip on you, stepping away from you a bit.
“You trying to steal my girlfriend?” Jake smiled, teasing his brother as he approached.
“Not yet, but you better be careful. I’ll swoop in if you fuck it up.” Josh shot back, causing a small laugh from you.
“Yeah, over my dead body.” He quipped, leaning in and placing a kiss on your forehead. Josh took a respective step away, not wanting to interfere with the time you had left with him. “You ready to go?” Jake asked, looking down at you. You nodded, ready to rip the band-aid off and get this over with.
“Go put your bags in the trunk.” You handed him the keys. He gave you a quick kiss before gathering his brothers and ushering them outside. You watched as Danny closed the main door behind him, feeling an emptiness start to burn it’s way into your chest. Your eldest brother walked over to you, pulling you into a hug.
You didn’t say a word, only made it a point to get the worst of the sobs out before Jake came back to get you. He rubbed your back, soothing you in a way only a sibling could. They were the biggest assholes by times, but they were family, and always knew how to make you feel better. If not better, at least less alone. When you heard the front door open, you pulled back and wiped your face, hoping he may not notice the state you were in. Alex ruffled your hair, the unspoken encouragement from an emotionally inept older brother. You swatted his hand away, both of you getting a chuckle out of it.
“I’ll be back later.” You told him.
“Be safe.” He ordered. You gave him a salute, finally cracking a grin. “Sam has informed me that tonight is a chocolate chip cookie and Harry Potter night.”
“You guys making the cookies?” You joked.
“No, somehow they roped us into doing it.” Ally said, pointing between her and Eve.
“Ah, copy.” You chuckled. “So you must know the importance of a Harry Potter night, then.”
“We’ve been told.” She smiled. When you and your brothers were kids, whenever something bad would happen, or if any one of you were sad, all of your siblings would band together and watch Harry Potter and eat junk food until the feelings were resolved, or you all fell asleep in the living room. It could have been as small as an argument between friends, or a breakup, to losing a loved one. There was always certainty that you’d all be there for each other, and it never changed. Even now, when you lived so far away, the tradition never died. You were grateful that you were so close with your siblings; you couldn’t imagine them not being your best friends.
“I’ll be anticipating it, then.” You promised, making your way to meet Jake at the door. You slipped on a pair of shoes, and he grabbed your hand. You both walked to your car together, not willing to speak a word. When you got in the driver’s seat, you couldn’t help but laugh at the situation in the backseat. Danny and Sam had Josh squished in the middle seat. The taller boys knees were scrunched together, but they looked fairly content for such an unpleasant seating arrangement.
Jake got in and you started the car, your speaker connecting to your phone for music. You handed it to Jake, silently telling him to be the DJ for the short ride. You pulled out of the driveway, stomach in knots as you drive down the street. The drive was filled with small chatter, mostly bickering from the boys in the backseat. Jake had his hand resting on your thigh, thumb rubbing small circles into the fabric of your pants. You focused on the feeling of him touching you, rather than the idea of him leaving. As the last exit before the airport approached, the familiar intro to the Eagles song he’d pegged as his favourite started to sound through the speaker.
“It’s your song, y/n!” Sam exploded from behind you. “Turn it up!” Jake did as he asked, laughter floating through the air as he cranked the volume knob. Sam leaned forward so you could hear him clearly. “Sing it with us.” He pleaded.
“No! I only sing when I’m drunk!” You lied, a grin plastered on your face.
“Liar!” Jake yelled, giving your thigh a squeeze. You rolled your eyes, knowing they wouldn’t let it go. You decided that it wouldn’t be so bad to sing it with them, hoping to leave the trip on a happy note. When the first lyrics hit, you belted them out. The boys joined in, too, making sure you didn’t feel too put on the spot. As you pulled into the drop-off lane of the airport, you were all singing so loud that you could barely hear the music anymore.
The song finished and you were all out of breath, laughing harder than you were singing. Jake turned the speaker down again, leaning back in his seat for a moment. The three boys sitting in the backseat were eager to get out, already stiff from being so cramped together. You put the car in park, now letting your hand rest on top of his. He let his fingers dance with yours, wishing that he didn’t have to leave, or that you could just get on the plane with him. He turned his head to look at you, and you did the same. You both rested for a moment, lost in each others eyes. “I’ll see you soon.” He promised.
“I know. You better be waiting for me in Atlanta.”
“I’ll be holding a big sign with your name on it.” You smiled, leaning over to share a kiss with him. It was soft, full of the emotion both of you were scared to voice. “I better get out there before they drag me out themselves.” He whispered against your lips. You kissed him once more, but let him go. You got out, too, following him to the trunk of your car. While he got his bag out, you made your round of goodbyes with his brothers. You went to Danny first, who picked you up in a hug. Sam next, who had to get a quick quip in about your interaction only an hour before. And then Josh, who was so similar to your boyfriend but a whole world of different. When he hugged you, his hold was so familiar, but not quite as comforting as Jake’s. You promised the three you’d see them in a few weeks, and that you’d talk to them way before then.
Last was Jake, the hardest goodbye. The three boys let him know they’d meet him inside, giving you both a minute alone. “We love you!” Josh yelled as he walked towards the main entrance.
“I love you guys, too!” You shouted back, watching them disappear into a crowd of people. Your gaze fell back on Jake, who was watching you with anticipation. The sadness in his eyes felt like a punch to the stomach. He reached out for you, hand cupping your cheek with utmost gentleness. His thumb brushed away a tear that fell.
“Atlanta.” He reminded.
“Atlanta.” You confirmed. He slipped his hand to the back of your head, softly pulling you into him. You wrapped your arms around him, worried that you may not be able to let him go.
“It’s only a few weeks. I’ll call you every night. Hell, I’ll call you as soon as I get through security, just to say hi before I leave.” You felt a sob begin to grow as he spoke.
“I didn’t think it was going to be this hard. I didn’t think I was going to fall for you this hard.” Your words were muffled, your head buried in his shirt.
“We can make it through. It just makes the next time I get to see you, even better.” He explained, running his fingers through your hair, brushing out any knots. “As for the other thing… I’m glad you did.” You couldn’t help but laugh at him, even while you were crying. He always made the shitty things feel better.
“You’ll call me when you land? Just so I know you’re there safe?” You pulled back, looking up at him.
“Of course I will.” He promised. You leaned up and placed your lips on his, savouring the kiss for as long as you could. When you parted, he gave you another quick peck. He pulled you in for one last hug, holding you as if he’d never get to do it again.
“Thank you for coming.”
“Thank you for letting me.” He gave a soft smile, kissing the top of your head. When he stepped back, his eyes trailed over you from head to toe. He took a deep breath before opening his mouth to speak again. “I love you, witchy woman.” He breathed. “You don’t have to say it back, but I just wanted to tell you. I had to tell you.” You swallowed hard, nervous about his proclamation. In reality, you knew you felt it, too. You were just too scared to say it first.
“I love you, rockstar.” You replied. The smile on his face was wider than any you’d ever seen. “Now go, I’ll see you later.” You blinked away the puddles pooling in your eyelids.
“Okay,” he sighed, taking a step backwards. You blew him a kiss before he turned around. He pretended to catch it, holding it close to his heart. “Bye, baby.”
“Bye, Jake.” You watched him until he disappeared from sight, chest aching and heart heavy. You got back in your car, wondering what he’d done to you. As you drove home in silence, you couldn’t stop thinking about him. For the rest of the night, you tried to keep yourself sane, to distract yourself from him in any way possible, but you knew that Atlanta was the only thing on your mind; the only thing keeping you going.

Scaredy Cat // JTK
Tumblr media
Characters: Jake x Tommy (son) x Fem!reader Warnings: Spooky. Fluff. Haunted woods. Creepy clowns. Mentions of chainsaw. Scarecrows. Author's Note: Welcome to Jaketober!
Summary: Jake's all for the spooky and the scary, the gory and the horror until it comes to haunted house.. And the woods.
Tumblr media
If there’s one thing Jake doesn’t particularly like is haunted houses, prisons, forests, whatever. But this Halloween, he gave in and promised to take Tommy to a haunted house. You didn’t see the harm in it. People took their kids to haunted houses all the time.
“Mama!” Tommy exclaims as he jumps up and down in front you. “Daddy’s taking me to a haunted house tomorrow!”
You look over at Jake, a shocked expression on your face. Jake shrugs his shoulders and stuffs his hands into the pocket of his jeans. After all the years you’ve been together, he always refused to go to those things.
“I bet you’re gonna have so much fun with Daddy.” You say as you pull the four year old on your lap.
“You do know you’re coming too.” Jake says.
“Why? Are you scared?” You tease.
Jake scoffs. “Pfft, no.. Tommy might need you.”
“Mmhmm..” You giggle. “Okay, it’s bath time and then off to bed.” You say, patting Tommy’s leg.
Tumblr media
The next day flies by a little too quickly for Jake’s liking because now he’s driving the narrow gravel road to the haunted woods. Woods. Why did it have to be the woods? Ever since Josh suggested the Haunted Woods, Tommy hadn’t been able to be quiet about it. He’s eager to see the tall man with the chainsaw and the witchy lady who jumps out at you from behind some tall boulder or whatever.
“He is your kid.” You kindly remind him as you hand Jake his coat and beanie. “Why is it that you can watch horror movies with no end in sight, but haunted houses are a hard pass?”
“Because horror movies don’t have real people jumping out at you.” Jake says. “And touching you. Oh the touching, so creepy.”
“Well lucky for you, no one will touch you unless you pay an extra five dollars to wear some glow in the dark thing.”
“Easiest five dollars for me to save.” Jake says as he slips on his coat.
Tumblr media
Parking the car in the already crowded field, Jake cuts the engine and gets out. In the distance he can hear the screams of those who have fallen victim to the man with the chainsaw. His attention is pulled away from the woods as he feels Tommy tugging on the hem of his coat sleeve.
“Daddy! Let’s go!”
Buying their tickets and rejoining them by the fire, he finds Tommy bouncing on his feet as he eagerly waits for their group number to be called. He keeps talking about the man with the chainsaw and each time he does, there’s a scream and Tommy’s face contorts into a wicked grin.
What kind of kid is he raising?
Thirty minutes pass by and the number of their group is called and Tommy jumps up and down impatiently for Jake to hurry up. Tommy can tell Jake is a little nervous. He steps up to Jake and grabs his hand. “Don’t worry, Daddy–I’ll protect you.”
Jake hears you trying to stifle a laugh and he snaps his head to the side to look at you. You quickly cover your mouth and shake your head.
Making it through the creepy corn maze, Jake only jumped a few times and nearly punched a scarecrow when it came up behind him. Arriving at the exit, he heaves a sigh of relief earning little giggles from Tommy.
“Come on Daddy! The man with the chainsaw is next.” Tommy says as he drags Jake down the pathway towards the sinister looking cabin.
Inside the sounds of the chainsaw whirring to life make his blood run cold. The impending doom. He knows it’s not real. It’s all fake, but why does it still frighten him and yet not an ounce of fear paints his son’s face?
The door cracks open as they make their way through the threshold and into the cabin. “Daddy..” Tommy says, looking up at Jake.
“Finally afraid?” Jake smirks.
“No, but you still are,” Tommy says. “You’re squeezing my hand too tightly.”
Jake’s smirk drops from his face. “Oh.. Sorry..” He loosens his grip on his son’s hand.
Winding their way through the cabin, with jumpscares making Jake curse and immediately apologize, they reach the one part where he knows the man with the chainsaw will jump out. And even knowing it, he still jumps sky high and out of his skin. Tommy giggles beside him and squeezes his hand.
“It’s okay, Daddy, he won’t hurt you.”
“Yeah, Daddy,” The man mimics. “I won’t hurt you.” He says. “For now..” He starts up the chainsaw again making Jake flinch and he laughs. “Don’t be such a scaredy cat. The pain won’t last for long and it'll be all over before you know it.”
Tommy drags Jake through the final tunnel and out to the clearing behind the cabin. “Daddy, are you okay?” He asks. “You look a little green.”
“It smelled god awful in there..” Jake says.
You step beside him and rub his back. “Maybe we should head back to the car.”
“Oh but Mommy, the clowns!” Tommy exclaims. “We have to see the clowns.”
“Buddy, I don’t think your father can handle anymore–”
“Nope, no..” Jake straightens back up and fixes his coat and beanie. “I am determined to finish this, even if it means having nightmares for the next three weeks.” He puffs out his chest, clearly making a show for Tommy. “Bring on the clowns.”
“Yes!” Tommy exclaims as he throws his fists in the air. “Let’s go!”
It wasn’t until they reached the arch leading into the clown section that Jake stopped in his tracks. It wasn’t people dressed as creepy clowns or mannequins that jumped on a motion sensor. They were huge bobblehead clowns. Huge, painted heads that bobbed and weaved, coming closer to you before falling backwards again. Maniacal laughing boomed from speakers hidden around as creepy circus music played in the background.
Not only that but they had to go through a blowup tunnel that leads to a different part of the clown section.
The squeezing of the tunnel was too much for Jake. “I don’t like this very much!” He calls out to no one in particular.
“Just hold on to my hand Daddy!” He hears Tommy call in the darkness of the tunnel.
Emerging from the blow up tunnel and regaining his breath, he comes face to face with a clown. A human clown. A human dressed up as a clown. With crazy makeup and fake blood running down their face.
“Oh hi Mister!” Tommy greets the clown, who keeps his eyes narrowed in on Jake. Jake gives him a sheepish smile and a small wave accompanied by an awkward chuckle before Tommy is dragging him along.
“Did you say hi to a clown?” Jake questions as he dodges another clown who jumps out behind a tree.
“Well yeah, it makes it less scary.” Tommy says as he proceeds to smile widely and wave as a clown slowly approaches the two of them.
“Well hello little boy.” The clown says. “Care to join me for some fun?” He laughs a wicked laugh before snapping his eyes head upwards to look at Jake. “Well well well.. Who have we got here?”
“That’s my dad.” Tommy says, earning a smitful glare from Jake.
“Ohhh, Daddy.. Has Daddy come with you to protect you from the scary things in the woods?” He says as he slowly circles Jake. He can feel the man’s breath on the back of his neck and the scent makes him scrunch up his nose.
“I think someone needs a breath mint..” Jake comments.
The clown presses his face in closer to Jake who slowly leans away. “And I think someone needs a little lesson in manners.”
Jake tries to put on a confident front, although he knew he wasn’t fooling anyone, even himself. The clown mocks his pose and laughs. “What’s your name, boy? I want to be your friend.”
“In your dreams..” Jake sneers.
“Oh I don’t have dreams.. But you do..” The man snickers and taps the side of his own head. “And you’ll see me every night when you close your eyes, waiting.. Scheming.. You can’t escape me, no one can.”
By now, Jake’s heart is racing his chest. He wants nothing more than to rid himself of this clown. The clown chuckles and cocks his head at Jake.
“I suggest you get a move on now or you won’t be coming out of these woods alive..”
Tommy grabs Jake’s hand and drags him down the path, past several more creepy clowns who giggle and reach for them, muttering eering sayings as they pass. They finally reach the end of the trail and come out back to the field where they had started. The bonfire glowing brightly as people chatter and laugh.
“We did it!!” Tommy cheers. “Wasn’t that fun?” He says as he holds into Jake’s hand and jumps up and down.
“Yeah,” Jake scoffs. “Fun is an operative word…”
“Want to do it again?” Tommy grins.
“Aha!” Jake laughs. “Never..”
Tommy lets go of his hand and runs over to you. “Daddy was scared.”
“Was not!” Jake calls after him.
“Then what were you, hmm?” Tommy says as he rises up on his toes to make himself seem taller. He has his eyebrows raised and a smirk playing on his face.
He is most definitely Jake’s son.
“I was simply.. Startled.”
“So in other words..” You say as you reach for his hand. “You were scared.”
“Oh Jakey boy!” He hears the creepy clown’s voice. He slowly peers over his shoulder. The clown waves at him, his fingers wiggling to and fro.
“Let’s go..” Jake says as he quickly ushers you and Tommy back to the car.

⭑ So, she ended up breaking it off with Edward. Or he never came back in New Moon. That was because, during the time that he was away, Bella made that friendship with Jacob, but she also met you.
⭑ Nothing romantic happened, actually. Not for a year. (Yeah I know, slow burn...)
⭑ Bella saw you as a friend, a neighbour. Someone that came over from time to time to hang out. You weren’t on her foremind for a while.
⭑ Not until she had a huge fight with Jacob -
⭑ Where her curiosity for the supernatural was too much for him, and he snapped at her
⭑ Bella was offended, and upset that her desire for this whole other world, was shut down
⭑ She came to you, and ranted about it (you grew up in Forks, so you knew all about the supernatural, and the wolves. You came from a long line of witches)
⭑ You consoled her. Because you completely understood - our curiosity is such a big factor in witchcraft. Without it, what would be the point of being a witch?
⭑ She went home that day, with a new perception of you
⭑ Someone who was more important in her life now
⭑ And from there, she hung out with you a LOT. There wasn’t more than a day where she wouldn’t see you
⭑ Bella became interested in witchcraft, and wanted to learn
⭑ And so, Bella became a witch
⭑ There are a lot of protection spells, especially around Charlie’s house.
⭑ There would still be the threat of Victoria, but the wolves along with your magic, would keep Bella safe.
⭑ Her favourite witch-book is the ‘5000 spells’ by Juika Illes
⭑ She actually loves astrology, and asks Charlie exactly when and where he was born
     “And the time too-”
“Why the time Bella?”
“I just need ... the time ...the exact time.”
⭑ Being with you means that Bella actually gets a normal life while being close to the supernatural. It’s a win-win
⭑ She wants to learn tarot reading, but feels as if she’s not too good at it
⭑ Oh but she LOVES having many jars of various herbs’ angelica, cloves, frankincense, dandelion, bay leaves etc
⭑ And there are so many plants - especially when you do move in together. There are plants EVERYWHERE; potted plants, but also outside there’s a flower, herb and vegetable garden. Bella learns that she has a green thumb.
⭑ Maybe you stay in Forks, or maybe you go travelling together? And you both wear protection amlets
⭑ Gifting her some crystals and she loves labradorite, mookaite and lepodolite
⭑ You introduce her to witchy movies; ‘The Craft,’ ‘Practical Magic,’ ‘
⭑ Any movies, media or literature with Vampires are a bit touchy with Bella. But overtime, she finds them humorous
⭑ She makes up with Jake, and it becomes a love triangle because he thinks Bella should be with him.
⭑ But you put Jake in his place.
⭑ Autumn/Fall is Bella’s favourite, because she’ll jump to put on Gilmore Girls or Practical Magic, light some candles and make some hot chocolate for the both of you
⭑ She loves spells about protection, better dreams(!) and healing:

Honoured to have been tagged by @my-secret-shame, legendary paw patrol stan.
How many works do you have on AO3? Three. All abandonded, two are Naruto and ones DC. Darker times...
2. What's your total AO3 words count? 7,541. I haven't posted there in years.
3. What fandoms do you write for? Oscar Isaac almost exclusively. In my head I also write for... is cryptids a fandom? I write the best horror novels in my head, putting HP Lovecraft to shame. One day someone will give me an Oscar character with a horror prompt and it will be the best day ever.
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos? Since I don't even have five fics on AO3, I'll do tumblr instead. Also just gonna stick to Oscar stuff, the only other posts are slasher ones.
Pumpkin Porno In My VeinsTo Be Involved Blue Jones The Makeup Artist Oscar Characters Dating a Witchy Reader
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I response to almost all of them! There's some where I don't know what to say so... I kinda don't. But I do try my hardest, I appreciate when people take time to say a kind word to me and like to return that.
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Uh... I don't know that I've ever written one. I do absolutely love angst and I feel I could write it decently well, but to end with angst? I simply cannot. Maybe Caladan Attacks, since its basically on the line of non-con with no hope of escape?
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? The Moon Knight system playing minecraft with you post is just silly, self indulgent fluff that was so funny to write. So thats a very happy one.
8. Do you get hate on fics? I have never, which I'm happy to keep like that.
9. Do you write smut. If so what kind? I've written about maybe six smut ever, it's all here and it's... the Oscar Isaac character kind. Or it's always got plot even when I don't mean for it too. I'll get 1k wc in and go "Why the fuck have I not even gotten to the smut yet?".
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I wrote the Steven Grant Travelling the Oscar Verse thingy, where Steven accidentally teleports to Poe Dameron, Leto Atreides and Basil Stitt. Was crazy because I didn't make Steven and Leto bang.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No. Unless they stole it really well and I don't know.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Once with an MHA x reader thing back in the day. It also got put on youtube! Highest achievement.
13. Have you ever cowritten a fic before? Nope, no clue how it works and too nervous to accept an offer.
14. What's your all-time favourite ship? Oh no idea, it always depends on what I'm into. Currently in the Oscar fandom I have a bunch of random ships in my head I imagine for god knows what reason.
Steven/Jake Steven/Cecil William/Jake Blue/Jake Me/Jake
15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? There's a MK system x reader breeding request I've stared at so many times yet cannot muster the strength to finish. Idk why. I just cannot. Won't delete it though.
16. What are your writing strengths? When I'm in the zone I can crack out four fics in a day. I feel I can put a decent amount of character depth.
17. What are your writing weaknesses? I burn out so, so easily when writing. Maybe I need more practice, but it burns out my want to write and my love for the thing I'm into.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I only know English and Scots, but there's nothing to write Scots for and people are rude about it.
19. First fandom you wrote for? Naruto, back in the dark ages.
20. Favourite fic you've ever written? A Fake Taxi because the concept is so fun, I was encouraged by a friend and it's my first ever smut so that's a milestone!
Thanks again for the tag <3 My no pressure tags are: @winniethewife @minispidey @lunaesidus

accursed kiss | j.t.k | chapter one
Tumblr media
pairing: jake kiszka x f!reader
warnings: none in this chapter, but future chapters will be 18+!
summary: you, completely unaware of the dark curse you’re under, are falling in love with jake kiszka. he, unfortunately, becomes all too aware of both the curse & its repercussions.
words: 1.5k
big, big love to @tripthelight-fanfic for being my beta on this work!
i.               you
You’d lived your entire life in this tiny town – and despite most of your friends moving onto bigger and better things, you were perfectly content. The shop you owned, bits and bobs, was your pride & joy. It had already made you a liveable income, and once you’d expanded into online sales, things had just gotten better for you. You lived above the shop, a little apartment space that suited you simply perfectly. It was absolutely ideal for you.
Your clientele was pretty consistent, either the other witchy folk in town out for a new tarot deck or the tourists wanting to check it out for a souvenir to bring home. Other people might be bothered by selling genuine things they believed in as souvenirs to tourists, but this was your livelihood, so you didn’t care even a little.
It was year four of you running the little shop, and you could honestly describe the store as home. You had your very own restored vintage turntable at the back of the shop, your favourite records making up the soundtrack to your quaint, perfectly content little life.
And, of course, once you’d expanded into online sales, you’d needed to hire someone to help you package orders. You technically also needed someone to cover the shop when you were on holidays, but you hadn’t gone anywhere in… years. You weren’t sure why your brain was so foggy when it came to memories about holidays, but you didn’t mind much.
Life was good, and you couldn’t complain.
It was a perfectly average, lovely day, and you’d not even come close to having a clue as to how much your life was going to change.
There were three online orders to pack, so you made your way through the shop, collecting items to set aside for Kelly, your employee. She always faithfully packaged the orders, and was so much better at it than you could ever hope to be. You were near done, just two more items to grab, when the little chime you had above the door dingled.
You collected yourself, ready with your customer service smile, but the person who’d just walked through the door knocked the breath out of your lungs instantly.
Beautiful.
There was no other way to describe him. Chestnut brown hair that hung just below his shoulders, deep-set brown eyes, and a face that reminded you of the moon, you couldn’t take your eyes off of him.
He was looking around the shop, and like the stars were smiling down on you, had not noticed you yet.
You took one single breath in before moving closer to him, plastering a smile on your face.
“Hi! Can I help you find anything specific?”
His eyes met yours, and it was like he was staring into your soul.
“I’m just browsing, but thank you. I’ll be sure to ask if I need any assistance.”
“Of course, yeah. I’ll just be behind the counter if you need me.”
All thought had just exited your brain, your entire being focused on regaining your ability to breathe properly while this gorgeous man browsed your store.
There was something so casual about his existence, the way he seemed completely oblivious to how captivating he was. You were trying extremely hard not to stare, but mostly failing.
He looked up from the shelf of tarot cards, eyes once again meeting yours.
“Cute shop.”
You were stunned out of your reverie by his words. “Oh! Thanks.”
“You just work here, or…?”
“Uh, no. I’m y/n, and I own the store.”
He grinned at you, eyes boring into yours.
“You’re very intense.” It was supposed to be a whisper under your breath, but the smirk pulling at his lips told you he’d heard you loud and fucking clear.
He, however, clearly chose to avoid your comment. “I love Hozier.”
You were confused.
He pointed at the record player. “Hozier. Love him. Good choice.”
“Oh! Right, yes. Of course. His whole woodland elf vibe suits the shop, right?”
“It really does.”
You two just looked at each other with a moment. Jake’s gaze was intense, the eye contact honestly a bit unsettling.
“So… can I help you, or? You said you were browsing.”
“Oh! Yeah. I was looking at your crystals. I’m looking for amazonite, but you only have tumbles and towers. I was hoping for something raw, if you have it?”
You were slightly taken aback by his clear desire of what he wanted – it wasn’t like men didn’t come into your shop, but you weren’t used to ones who were knowledgable like this. But you smiled at him, eyes crinkling at the corners. “I might in the back. I think I grabbed two from over there to fulfill an online order earlier – just bear with.”
You darted into the back, fingers brushing the shelves to find exactly what he needed for him. The raw amazonite was at the very back of the shelf – you were near out. You made a mental note to order more, but you were secretly very very glad you’d had what he wanted. Rushing back out into the store with a smile, you took a good look at him before he noticed you. He really was stunning – not very tall, maybe 5’8” at best, but his stature was striking. The sun coming in from the window behind him did not aid matters at all – providing him with a halo, accentuating his absolutely perfect nose.
He interrupted your staring with a smirk. “Find it?”
“Yes! Here!” You were a little flustered, but didn’t let it affect your customer service. You placed the tower into his open hand with a toothy grin.
“Amazing. Do you mind if I just have a look around the rest of the store before you ring me up?”
“Of course! Feel free to explore!”
As he turned to keep browsing, you tried to observe without staring – completely unsure of whether or not you were succeeding.
“Sorry – I don’t mean to bother you while you shop – but are you from the area, or just visiting?”
“Who’s asking?” He responded with a wink, knocking the air from your lungs.
“Um, well. I suppose I am. It’s just a small town, and I know my clientele pretty well, so I’m just wondering if I should expect you in here more often!”
Nice save. The words echoed in your brain, but you weren’t entirely sure the voice in your head sounded like it always did. Weird.
“Just moved in. With my brothers. You know the kinda decrepit mansion on Hazelwood?”
“I do! Nobody’s lived there in years.”
“Yeah, we could fucking tell when we moved in. Sorry for swearing. It’s just, uh, my brothers and I kinda inherited it, and our mum suggested that instead of selling it, we move in. See how a different small town suited.”
“And? What do you think?”
“Well, we’re only on our second day here. But we like it so far.”
“I’m glad! Have you guys tried the café next door yet? Kiss of the Witch?”
“No, we haven’t yet. Why, s’it good?”
“Oh my god, it’s incredible. They do themed drinks, and the best sandwiches I’ve ever had in my entire life. Put it on the list, you have to go.”
He had moved till he was at the counter, a genuine smile on his face. “What if I took you there? Tomorrow at 10:30, brunch?”
“Like, with your brothers? Or just you?” It was a stupid question, but you felt the need to clarify. And, perhaps, shake his confidence for just a moment.
“Just me. That ok with you?”
“Yes, that would be okay with me!”
“Cool. See you then. Now, I’ll take the amazonite, and I’d also like this.” He placed a little purple box on the counter – your speciality. You called them “manifestation kits” – a jar of moon water, a bag of manifestation herbs, and a pack of affirmation cards hand-drawn by you.
You scanned the items with a smile, handing him the debit machine.
“You make these?” He gestured at the manifestation kits after tapping his card.
“I sure do! Be sure to let me know whether or not it ends up working out for you. I offer a full satisfaction guarantee.”
You were bluffing. You’d never told anyone that before, and they definitely didn’t come with that guarantee – you’d honestly gotten the idea off pinterest. You were no witch. But you wanted so badly to keep seeing him – even if brunch tomorrow didn’t go that well.
“Duly noted. See ya tomorrow, witchy woman.” He winked at you, then turned on his heel and exited the shop.
It took you a full hour to recover from the encounter, and return your breathing to what felt like somewhat normal. It was only after that hour you realized two things. One, you’d never gotten his name, and two, there was a tickle in the back of your throat and your breathing felt funny.
But oh well – you’d see him tomorrow.

I sat on my bed listening to my music working on a commission drawing as usual when I heard the door to our little flat so I pulled down my headphones
"Awww hello baby bat, did you have a nice -Ah!" I jumped in shock literally falling off the bed in shock nervously I peaked over the black and white striped covers to the doorway of our studio flat "wha-ahat happened to you?" I asked nervously
"Alice happened" she snapped, she looked so strange. Usually y/n my sweet little baby bat has her hair in cute little bouncy curls, usually black but honestly it changes every other week, usually her face is well sculpted and dark like a Victorian woman but with dark eye liner and black, purple or red luscious lips, she typically wears ripped jeans, or striped socks, cute witchy skirts and pinafore dresses with belts and harnesses to compliment her adorable shape, with mesh shirts and program necklaces. That it y/n. My baby bat. And I love her. My adorable gothy little girly.
What the hell is that! This is not my girlfriend!
She had heels, she doesn't where heels unless there the kinda boots you could kill a squirrel with. She had these little pink strappy heels, she had glitter tights, this little pink silk dress that… I'm going to be honest did not exactly flatter her, rose gold necklace and bracelet, her hair straightened and pinned up in a bun her usual make up gone replaced with this gold and pink glowing whatever with a pink sparkly lipgloss.
I don't think I've ever seen her so uncomfortable, and I've seen her pretty damn uncomfortable. I'm her boyfriend! We live together.
"What did they do to you?" I asked slowly emerging
"Practice run of make up and styling for Alice's wedding"
"Oh. Why do it on you thought why not practice on Alice, or Lisa as the maid of honour and all?"
"They said I was the worst and needed the most work, if it could make me look could it'll work for them"
I sighed "they are bitches. I don't know why you still hang out with them"
"Because I like Alice. Or I did. Before she got into this… cult of pink Starbucks drink white girls"
"You didn't have to let them do it if you were uncomfortable baby bat" I told her taking her hands seeing they had even replaced her vampire black and red gradient nails with pink butterflies
"I just wanted to help I guess. Is it that bad?" She asks
"Y/n. No matter what I love you" I told her giving her head a kiss "ehh foundation. Anyway you know I love you Starbucks ice coffee girl, cute vampire girl or even if you wanna dress like a lemon everyday. I don't care. I still love you and I still think you look beautiful. But… this isn't you, I know it, you know it, I can see how uncomfortable you are from a mile away. I think you look beautiful however makes you comfy"
"Thank you Jake"
"Your welcome baby bat. You wanna transform back into Morticia Adams now?"
"Yes please"
"Okay, come on I'll help you do your hair"

I would love to read an angsty to fluff witchy reader X Jake where the reader tried to keep the witchy aspects of her life a secret until Jake finds out and he just gets overwhelmed and is like “do I even really love you?! Or is this all fake?! From a love spell?!”
I love this!! I will definitely get something in the works.. 🧡

break the chain - the finale
a break the chain series finale
Tumblr media
pairing: ot7 x afab!reader (all their mates) word count: 1.5k
Tumblr media
synopsis: the war is over and the pack members live peacefully.
genre: established relationships, fluffy, just straight up cute.
warnings: straight up happiness. that’s all.
prt 1: vampires bleeding | prt 2: you complete me
☾ heeseung(1) | jake (2) | jungwon(3) | sunghoon(4) | sunoo(5) | niki(6) | jay(7) ☽
Tumblr media
Snow collected on Heeseung’s hair, the crisp cool morning tingled his bare upper half. The aroma of his coffee filled his senses as he lifted the mug to his lips, drinking down the sweet bitter taste.
The sounds of his family echoed in the air. Their laughter forced the corners of his lips to curl upwards. His eyes fondly stared over his balcony at them all.
Sunghoon and his witchy mate held hands as he led her over the frozen pond to ice skate. Her knees wobble but Sunghoon kept his grip on her tight to keep her from falling. His natural fangs are on full display as he smiles at her with so much endearment.
Niki and his mate along with Jake and the dhampir had snow forts built and screamed acts of war towards each other before starting out their snowball fight. Archer had his own fort built but kept his head peaked over the top, eyes glancing back and forth at the other four.
Sunoo and his elf mate rolled snowballs together to build a snowman. The elf used her magic to lift each ball of snow on top of the other, keeping it steady as Sunoo placed rocks for the eyes. Sunoo rushed away from the snowman and his mate, quickly returning with a carrot and sticks for the nose and arms. Their laughter was filled with so much love and fun, that Sunoo didn’t hesitate to bring her close to him and kiss her tenderly.
Jungwon and his mate had a blanket wrapped around their bodies as they walked through the snowy field, gently pushing and pulling each other in a way of teasing. Jungwon pressed his soft pink nose from the cold against her forehead and she tried to escape from his touch.
Jay and his mate sat high up in a tree. Jay leaned his back against the trunk and held his mate to his chest, a book in his hands, reading out loud to her. She held his one arm around her waist tightly and tilted her head against his neck, Jay leaning his chin atop her head. His smile was big as he read to her, his thumb doing circles on her waist.
Heeseung shifted his eyes between each of his family members, his heart beating with endearment and so much happiness. They were safe. Each of them. No threats. No war. Just pure happiness. Heeseung could cry thinking about it all. All the pain and suffering each member of his family, including himself, had to endure from the moment they were turned or brought into this world.
His queen brought him back to reality when she wrapped her arms around his waist from behind him, resting her face on his shoulder blade, “You’re deep in thought, want to talk about it?”
Heeseung placed his hand on top of hers, rubbing his thumb against her fingers, “I am just happy. They are finally safe.”
The queen stepped to his side, staring down at her family, “It’s well deserved,” she said, leaning against the balcony rails, “They all went through so much.”
Heeseung finished his coffee and set it down on the small table off to his side then pulled his mate towards him, cupping her face, “You did too,” he furrowed his brows and traced his thumb over the scar he gave her all those years ago, “You’ve been through so much, and I didn’t help either.”
She leaned into his touch, kissing his palm, “Hee, you got me out of the hell, don’t be so hard on yourself.”
He kept tracing the scar, “Why don’t you get this removed? __ and __ would help—“
She pulled from his embrace, “With all due respect my king, I’ve told you multiple times I want to keep this scar.”
Heeseung chuckled, reaching back out for her and bringing her back to his chest. Her cold fingertips send goosebumps down his body, “I know you want to keep it and have your reasons, but I won’t ever forgive myself for giving you this scar.”
She kissed him then, smiling against his lips, “Well learn to accept it, you’re stuck with me after all.”
Heeseung twirled her around and pulled her back to his chest, leaning his head on her shoulder, “They all look happy, don’t they?”
The queen once again looked down at her family and nodded, “You made sure of it. We both did. We are all finally safe and away from threats. This is finally home.”
After Jake set the castle ablaze, Heeseung knew his family needed somewhere to go. He refused to go back into the city and have them go their separate ways. After everything this family has had to go through, he never wanted to lose sight of them.
It took a bit of time to find some open and empty land, but once it was found and in Heeseung’s grasp he took it. Building multiple homes for his pack members surrounding each other in a perfect circle.
Sunghoon and the witch were so in love with their old log cabin that Heeseung had a new one built for them. Jungwon and his mate along with Sunoo and the elf shared a house across from Sunghoon and the witch's log cabin. It was a beautiful two-story modern-day Victorian-style house. The elf and Jungwon’s mate decorated it beautifully.
Jake, the dhampir, and her twin Archer took the spot between Hoon’s and the pocketz houses. The twins wanted a house built that was similar to the one their parents had built and lived off in the countryside, so Heeseung made it happen.
Across from them was Heeseung’s place. The house was three stories with an office/meeting room on the first floor, Niki and his mate taking the second, then Heeseung and his wife on the top floor. It was a beautiful Greek marble built in a modern house format. The house had extra rooms on the first floor for the witch and elf to use their magic in and even a medical room for Heeseung and Jay to use if anyone got hurt. They have to keep their doctor skills going after all.
And finally off to the side of Heeseung’s place was another small log cabin, only big enough for one room and a kitchen which belonged to Jay and his mate. Jay didn’t want anything big. Said he enjoyed the smallness of their apartment back in the city and didn’t need anything bigger. And with the massive land they all had, Jay said there wasn’t a need for a massive house when there’s so much open land to explore and be in. Heeseung understood completely.
It’s been peaceful living out here. Just far enough from a city to have the quiet, but close enough to travel if needed. The vampires wouldn’t have to worry about moving ever again. This was home. Forever.
With forever in thought, the witch and elf finally were able to find a way to nullify the aging process of the twins. They were still half human and would need their basic human needs met, but never again will they worry about their clock to stop ticking.
Archer finally as well accepted his red string of fate and joined the pack. Jake and his mate knew it was bound to happen eventually and it took a lot of convincing from Heeseung to just get him to join. He’s stuck with the fourteen of them, after all.
Jungwon’s mate finally was able to control her electricity and had no more use of the crystals to help keep her powers in check. Jungwon was specifically happy about this so he would not be electrocuted in his sleep anymore.
Heeseung brushed his nose against his queen’s temple, “Yes, this is home.”
Heeseung knew not all threats would be avoided, he was the vampire king after all and the world knew he was and knew about the events that took place at the old castle. Of course, Heeseung has his loyal royal guards stationed at checkpoints throughout the massive land that he now owns. He wasn’t going to completely leave them defenseless. But the hardest part about being a king without the help of everything E once did, Heeseung had to fill those roles too. But with his queen and family at his side, it made it easier.
Jungwon was still second in command with Jay acting as his third and “second king” when Heeseung wasn’t able to attend. All the jobs E once did were not only equally spread out between Heeseung, Jay, and Jungwon, but now also Archer. Archer took most of the jobs and was happy to do so.
Each pack member had a role, but those roles only went into effect if needed. Heeseung’s only demand was that they stay happy and healthy.
Heeseung now kissed his wife's neck, “Why am I the only one bare?”
She giggled, “My dear, it’s too cold out here to not put clothes on. I’m surprised you’re out here in just your shorts.”
He smiled against her skin, pulling her with him back into their bedroom.
“Let’s warm each other up, ya?” he whispered down their bond, closing the balcony doors behind them and her laughter filling the space of the room.
Everyone was happy. Everyone was safe. And that’s all Heeseung could ever ask for.
wow guys, I can’t believe my vampire series is finally over…it’s such a bittersweet feeling. I want to personally thank every single one of you who have followed this story from the very beginning and who has given this series so much love and support. I honestly really can’t thank you all enough. i’m forever grateful.

Forever Endeavor
A/N: Due to Tumblr's horrifically bad post editor and the massive amount of stolen & reposted work they seem to never care enough to do anything about, I'm no longer going to be posting the full text of my stories on Tumblr. I will still post a chapter announcement here, but it will only contain a link to the chapter where it will be posted on Ao3. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause my readers, but I really have about had it with this website and their bullshit.
Series Summary: Marc Spector and Steven Grant have finally learned to coexist with each other now that Ammit has been taken care of, even though they annoy the absolute shit out of one another with their differing interests and lives. When Khonshu returns 6 months later to announce another threat looming on the horizon, they quickly realize this is something way bigger than Moon Knight or Mr. Knight can handle on their own. Khonshu thinks he may know someone who can help them, but of course, like the dick he is, neglects to mention the Avatar he has in mind absolutely despises him and what he did to her God. Will the witchy court clerk agree to help them out of her own desire to do good or will the price for her assistance be one that is too steep to pay?

Jake Armstrong X Reader
Word Count: 856
Requested: Anon
Request: You're in love with Jake Armstrong and he got caught double crossing but reader didn't want him to get in trouble so she lies saying she stopped him even though no one knew who reader was, Jake was furious cause she wasn't suppose to know anything about his dirty work but she found out cause she was following him etc. Idk lots of arguments, worry and cute fluff. Reader is human.
Tumblr media
You loved Jake, you really did but you knew that he was hiding something the moment that he walked back into Chance Harbour, you had been friends with him before he left and despite the fact that you hadn't really spoken to him since you still considered yourself his friend and he obviously still considered you his because you were one of the first people that he tracked down when he got back. Since then you spent a lot of time together and that was what clued you in on him, there were times when he would get phone calls and his whole body language would change so that was when you decided to follow him. What you found you were not expecting, he was meeting with Witch Hunters and while you didn't know how to talk to him about all of this you were covering his tracks for him, he thought he was pretty good but there were some things that he hadn't counted on and you were there to pick up the pieces for him.
Now like mentioned before Jake thought that he was pretty good at what he did so when he decided that he was going to double-cross the witch hunters you knew that it wasn't going to end well, you had followed him again that night and it took a little time for you to realise what he was doing and figure out how you were going to get him out of the situation that he was about to put himself in but you didn't have much time when they finally spoke: "Jake you wouldn't be lying to me would you?" They asked and you knew that you had to move quickly. "Jake your witchy teens have taken a wrong turn." You said as you appeared around the door frame. "And you are?" The man you assumed led them asked. "An old friend, I often have to set Jake straight." You answered with a shrug. "And witches have made my town a mess." "That doesn't answer my question who are you?" He asked. "(Y/N)." You answered. "That doesn't really matter though what does matter is that I've knocked those teens off your scent for a little while longer." "Why would you do that? How did you know that we were here?" He asked. "Because as much as Jake likes to think he's got it all under control, I let you in on a secret I've got it under control, the moment that he came back I knew that there was something going on and he had no idea that I was covering his tracks for him." You explained. "So I propose this... I help Jake get rid of the witches in Chance Harbour and you give us 3 weeks to do it." "3 weeks?" He asked. "We can get rid of them in 3 weeks." You nodded, he looked at you for a second before looking at Jake. "You trust her?" He asked. "Yes." Jake nodded. "I hope for your sake that your trust is well placed." He said before waving his hand for you both to leave "3 weeks." He said as you left.
Jake didn't say anything until he was sure that you were far enough away and that meant you'd been in the car for at least half an hour "what the hell were you doing here?" He asked. "Saving you." You answered. "You weren't supposed to be a part of all of this!" He argued his hands raised off the wheel for a second. "Well, I'm a witch, if you were going to kill on the witches in town that included me." You reminded him. "They just wanted the circle dead." He reminded you and you looked at him. "Why did you agree to this Jake?" You asked. "I just wanted to know what happened to my brother." He answered. "You should have just come back and asked I would have helped you." You said. "I didn't want you anywhere near this." He repeated and you looked at him. "There was no way that I wasn't going to find out about this Jake." You said softly "isn't it better to have someone to trust with you." "I just want you safe" He answered and you nodded. "I will be because we're going to go and talk to the youngsters and then we're going to make a plan." You said and he sighed one of his hands coming over the centre console to hold yours. "You haven't changed." He finally said and you looked at him. "Neither of you, your still impulsive and stupid and my entire world." You shrugged, he looked at you and smiled. "And your still mine." He informed you. "Well then let's fix it so that you can take me out on a proper date." You suggested. "That's harder than you think." He sighed. "I know but this time we're going to make a bitter plan then walk in there and wing it." You said and he squeezed your hand. "I hope so." He said and you smiled. "We will." You reassured him.
Requests and general question!

~
Music was pounding through the sound system, bouncing off every body that was present on the dance floor. It wasn’t particularly good, but you were certain that you could get drunk enough to enjoy it. You’d only been inside the bar for a moment, but somehow your friends had already disappeared into the crowd, leaving no indication on where they could’ve went. You paid no mind to it, knowing they would show up sooner rather than later. You pushed your way through the crowd to get to the bar, earning some strange looks. When you landed in front of the wooden countertop, you were a bit out of breath and eager to start drinking. The familiar bartender looked to you, giving you a smile.
“Hey, Mike.” You greeted.
“Was wondering when I’d see your face back here.” He pulled a glass from under the counter.
“Roommates finally let me out of house arrest. Did enough chores to make up for the last time we were here.” You joked. He let out a chuckle, shaking his head at you.
“You’re gonna get yourself hurt fighting like that.” He scolded. The last time you’d been at the bar, you’d gotten in a physical altercation with a frat boy who’d been bothering a girl. You’d never been scared to throw a punch or speak up. Growing up with four brothers really taught you a thing or two about how to fight. Your quick temper seemed to get you into trouble, but thankfully this particular bar staff knew you only got physical if deserved. They didn’t care, because they didn’t want people like that in their bar any more than you did.
“No faith in me, Mikey?” You asked. He slid a drink towards you. You picked it up, taking a sip. “Jack and coke?” You raised an eyebrow.
“Had to go with your second favourite, apparently that fireball gets you feisty.” He grinned.
“I don’t think it was the fireball, baby.” You confided. “I was actually applying for the bouncer position, anyway. You guys don’t seem to want to hire me; figured I just needed to show off my skills.”
“If you were the bouncer, I don’t think anybody would get through the front doors.” He chuckled. “Plus, if we had to pay you to be here, we’d lose out on all our profit.” You laughed as you pulled a twenty out of your purse. As you handed it over to him, he waved you off. “First ones on us, we missed you.” You shoved it back in your purse, pulling out a ten instead.
“Fine, here’s a tip, I missed you too.” You left it on the counter, grabbing your glass. “Oh, and put some better music on. I don’t want my favourite dive bar turning into a club.” He let out another laugh, throwing his head back as he did so.
“Will do, spitfire.” He moved on to the next customer as you turned around, losing yourself in the crowd. The boy on the stool next to you stared at the spot you’d been standing moments before, turning his head to watch you weave into the mess of bodies. He turned back to the bartender, who was making his way over to him. “Refill?” He asked the boy, nodding towards his empty glass.
“Yeah,” he cleared his throat. Mike pulled down a bottle of whiskey from the display, filling a glass with ice and pouring the liquor atop it. “What’s that girls name?” He asked. Mike looked up at him, furrowing his eyebrows slightly.
“The one who was just there?” He nodded his head towards the empty spot beside the boy. He gave a nod. “Y/n,” he answered “but if you think you’re interested, tread carefully, man. She’s something else.” The bartender smirked.
“You seem to know her pretty well. Could you put in a good word for me?”
“What’s your name, kid?” Mike questioned, placing his drink in front of him and taking his used glass away.
“Jake,” he introduced himself, reaching a hand across the bar. “And you’re Mike?”
“Yeah, that’s me. I own the place.” He smiled. “I’ll try my best to send her your way, but no promises. I’ve known her for a long time. She’s a force to be reckoned with. She does whatever she wants, whenever she wants to. I’ve never been able to reason with her.”
“‘Preciate it, man. I think I can handle her.” Jake smiled. Mike let out a laugh, knowing the boy was maybe a bit too confident in himself.
“Whatever you say.”
Back on the dance floor, you’d found yourself surrounded by a group of people you’d never met before, but seemed like they knew how to have fun. You’d finished dancing with one of the girls, blowing her a kiss as you continued on your journey through the sea of drunkards. A familiar head of red hair caught your attention. You pushed past a pair of frat boys, giving a scowl as you did so. They were your least favourite type of people, and the university you’d been attending was full of them. You caught up to your friend, grabbing onto her arm before she could slip away again.
“Hi!” Eve exclaimed, smile lighting up the room. “I didn’t know where you went!”
“Had to go say hello to Mike!” You shouted back. “Where is everyone else?”
“I think Ally’s doing blow in the bathroom.” She giggled. You rolled your eyes.
“Of course she is.” You were a party animal, but even you had to admit that Ally, one of your roommates, definitely had a problem that she wasn’t willing to deal with yet.
“Ben’s probably guarding the bathroom door for her,” you nodded. Ben was Ally’s boyfriend, always making sure she was safe. You liked him; he wasn’t necessarily overbearing with her. He never stopped her from doing what she wanted, but just made sure she was protected while she was doing it. “And I think the rest of them are over playing pool.”
“And you and I are gonna dance.” You smiled, grabbing her hand and twirling her around. She let out a laugh, reciprocating the action. The two of you moved your hips in time with the music, dancing on each other and sipping at your drinks. From behind you, a wolf-whistle sounded. You straightened up, spinning around to see a guy you’d seen around campus a few times. You gave him a glare, flipping him off in the process. He rolled his eyes at you, turning to look the other way. “Asshole.” You muttered, bringing your glass to your lips and finishing the rest of the drink in one gulp. “Come on, let’s go get another.” You ushered her along. The two of you stepped down the stairs leading back to the main floor, catching sight of your third roommate. “Ally!” You shouted, waving her over. Her head whipped around, following the sound of your voice immediately. She gave you a grin as she joined you, hooking her arm through yours. “Hello, sunshine.” You greeted.
“Fancy meeting you here.” She jittered. You had to laugh.
“Let me buy you a drink, sugar.” You gave her a small yank towards the bar. You pooled into some stools, all scooting your chairs closer together. Mike made his way over to you, a towel over his shoulder. He placed his hands on the edge of the counter, leaning forward and giving a disapproving sigh.
“You troublemakers are back again?” You gave him a sweet smile. He was an attractive guy; a bit older, but very good looking for his age. He had his head shaved and tattoos littered his arms. You always played the flirting game with him, knowing you’d let him take you home under the right circumstances. Still, you enjoyed drinking there far too much to ruin it over a quick fuck.
“Couldn’t stay away from you.”
“Yeah, yeah, whatever. What are you having this time?”
“I’m thinking shots. What about you, ladies?” You asked. They gave a collective nod. “Six jägerbombs.” He obliged, grabbing a can of red bull and the dreaded green bottle. He poured out six, placing two in front of all of you.
“Oh, there’s a guy over there that seems particularly interested in you, too.” Mike said, nodding in the direction of a booth behind you. You raised an eyebrow, giving a smirk.
“Trying to pawn me off on some poor patron?” You asked. He shook his head.
“I’m just relaying the message, sweetheart.” You turned around, seeing a group of boys sitting together. Your eyes scanned them, taking in each one of them individually. One had long curly, dark hair and a sweet smile. He looked different than the other three, who all seemed a bit similar. There was a lankier, taller boy who sat next to the curly haired one. He had a bit of facial hair growing in and long, brown hair that barely had a wave to it. On the other side of the booth, there were two boys who looked quite similar. One had short fluffy hair, shaved down on the sides and a grin that never left his face. The boy beside him had long hair, too, but his aura looked a little darker. His smile wasn’t as wide when it crossed his face, and he looked a little stoned.
They must be twins, you thought.
They were all good looking; you wouldn’t mind taking any one of them home, but that wasn’t your intentions lately. Boys, and girls, for that matter, were not your peak interest. Too much drama, too much effort. You liked drinking and having fun. Freedom was great and you used all of your time not spent with your friends, studying. You didn’t need someone to drag you down. Still, out of curiosity, you had to ask. “Is it sunshine and rainbows, or dark and broody?” You turned around, a laugh on your lips.
“Dark and broody,” Mike chuckled. “How’d you know?”
“Come on, you know me well enough by now. I know everything.” You took the first shot, feeling the warmth flood your chest for a second. It was quickly washed away by the carbonated drink. “He is cute, though. But I’m not interested in wasting my time.” You sighed.
“Y/n, he’s gorgeous. You have to go talk to him, at least.” Ally pleaded.
“Take your shots and maybe I’ll think about it.” You brushed her off.
“He seemed to really like you, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad. Seemed like a nice guy.” Mike offered, throwing another drink in front of you before he stalked off to serve another group of people. You thought about it for a moment, taking another look over your shoulder at the guy. You found he was already looking at you. He gave a small smile, to which you returned.
“You know, maybe it would be good for you. You haven’t even so much as looked at anyone since the last asshole.” Eve said. You shrugged.
“For good reason.” You kept it short and sweet, not wanting to get into it now.
“Just give him a chance, y/n. You never know.” She took both of her shots back to back without a flinch in sight.
“Oh, I know,” you rolled your eyes. “All guys are the same. They just want to fuck and ruin your life, then act like it never happened.” You stood again, grabbing your drink. The two girls shuffled to their feet, following after you. You made your way to the pool tables, taking a seat on the side of one the rest of your group was playing on. Ally’s boyfriend shooed you off without any hesitation, completely used to your antics. You jumped off, now watching the game they were playing. Ben and his roommate were playing together, and they were down to the 8-ball. The tension seemed a bit high; they always contested each other in pool. It was their version of a pissing contest. You had learned not to comment on it.
The mood shifted in the air suddenly. Mike had adhered to your request, changing up the music. Overhead, the opening notes of Witchy Woman by Eagles sounded, sending a jolt of energy through you. “Thanks, Mike!” You yelled over to the bar. He looked up, giving you a wink.
From the booth the group of boys sat at, Jake looked over at you, pleasantly surprised that you’d requested the music change. You were singing the song to Eve, and she was dancing to your voice. Jake admired the way your hips moved, the life behind your eyes, and the heart you were putting into the performance. “Go talk to her, man.” Josh elbowed his brother in the side. Jake snapped out of his trance, looking over to his twin.
“Oh, no,” he shook his head. “I don’t want to bother her. She looks like she’s having fun.” In reality, he was nervous. He’d never met a girl who affected him quite like you did. Your whole aura drew him in, like you’d casted a spell on him. The way you were so openly you and not afraid to show it was enchanting, and new. Not many people were like that. He thought your song choice had been fantastic, because if he had to pick a song to describe you, it would have been that one.
“Just ask to buy her a drink; she looks friendly enough.” Sam said, now looking back over his shoulder to get a glance at you. Jake took a deep breath, nodding his head once.
“Yeah, okay.” He stood, throwing back the last of his whiskey and advancing towards you. You caught sight of him as he was approaching, finding your breath catch in your throat. He was really good looking, and even better up close. He gave you another smile when you caught his eye. You stopped dancing, trying to channel a bit of your confidence that you’d lost momentarily. “You know, if I didn’t know any better, I could almost believe they wrote this song about you.” He spoke once he got close enough to you. You gave him a smirk.
“Flattering,” you looked him up and down. He was wearing dark jeans; you couldn’t tell exactly what colour they were due to the dim light, but they looked black. He had a dark blue button up on, only the bottom few buttons fastened together. The sleeves were cuffed at his elbows. His chest was tan, the skin looked soft and was inviting you in. His neck adorned a few chains, one with a pendant hanging from it. You couldn’t get a good look at it. He had dark features: brown hair, brown eyes and dark eyebrows. He was beautiful, and definitely had a good music taste for knowing the song, but you weren’t willing to fall for it. You were certain there had to be a catch. “What brings you to my side of the bar?”
“You,” he was blunt. You hated to admit it, but you liked it. His eyes scanned your face, taking in your red lipstick in particular. He wasn’t disrespectful with his gaze, though. It never fell below your shoulders. “I couldn’t let you leave without at least introducing myself.” You gave a chuckle.
“Trust me baby, I’m not leaving any time soon. They shut the bar down when I’m ready to go.” His heart sped at the pet name. “Now, tell me what you really wanted.”
“I wanted to buy you a drink.” His confidence was non-existent, but he attempted to sound sure of himself, anyway. “A woman with a music taste like yours is certainly deserving of a beverage of her choice.” You softened your stare, easing up on him a bit.
“I guess that depends on what drink you had in mind.”
“You don’t strike me as a bottom shelf kind of lady.” He let out a small laugh.
“You got me there.” You smiled. “I think-“
“She’d love to have a drink with you!” Ally cut in, earning a glare from you.
“Come on, Ally, you didn’t even let me intimidate him first.” You rolled your eyes, making a quick joke.
“He looked pretty scared to me.” She giggled. You looked back at the boy, shrugging.
“I guess he does.” Jake let out a nervous chuckle. “Come on, pretty boy, let’s go get a drink.” You grabbed his hand, pulling him along behind you. When you reached the counter, he pulled a bar chair out for you, letting you sit down first. He took a seat beside you, turning to look at you.
“So, witchy woman,” he smirked “what’s your name?”
“Hm, I think I like that name better.” You grinned.
“Come on, I’m sure that pretty face has an even prettier name.”
“Y/n,” you said, crossing your legs. “What about you, mystery man?”
“Jake.” He told you. You looked at him for a moment, slowly nodding your head.
“That fits. You look like a Jacob.” He laughed.
“I do?”
“Yeah, I mean, not in a bad way or anything, you just look like a Jake.” You stated, looking up at him through your eyelashes.
“Noted.” he replied. Mike stopped in front of the two of you. “I’ll get the same as earlier,” he looked to you “and one of whatever this beautiful lady has been getting all night.”
“Lady is a strong word for this one.” Mike chuckled.
“How rude, Mike. I may just have to leave a bad review.” You snipped. He waved you off.
“You love me too much for that.”
“You’re right, I do. I can’t get this cheap of a drunk anywhere else. Glad to see you referred to my Spotify playlist for tonight.” You mentioned, hearing a Cream song begin to play.
“It was too good not to play.” You watched as he poured the drinks. “I should pay you instead of the shitty DJ’s they bring in.”
“Hey, twenty bucks is twenty bucks.” You sent another wink in his direction.
“You think I pay them that much?” The three of you let out a chorus of laughs. He handed you both your respective drinks.
“Add them to my tab, please.” Jake told him. Mike gave a nod. “And all of her drinks for the rest of the night.” He added. You gave him an incredulous look.
“Absolutely not,” you scoffed “that’s very kind of you, but I won’t do that to you.”
“I don’t mind, really.” He assured you. Mike gave him a look of warning.
“She’ll drink you broke, buddy.” He told the boy.
“It’d be worth it, then.” Mike gave a shrug, walking away and doing as he was told without another protest.
“Jake, you really don’t have to-“
“I want to.” He cut you off, a tone of finality in his voice. You closed your mouth, pleasantly surprised at the authority. Usually, it would irk you, but from him, it was more than alright. You sipped your drink before the conversation continued. “So, what do you do for a living?” He asked, leaning back in his chair.
“I’m in school right now, actually.” Now that you were looking at him, you were realizing he might have been a bit older than you. You’d never seen him around the town, or the campus. He was a mystery waiting to be discovered.
“What are you taking?” He asked, eyes never leaving you.
“What do you think I’m taking?” You figured it would be fun to play with him a bit. He studied you for a moment, trying to pry into your brain.
“Something science-y.” He deducted. You were impressed.
“Yeah, actually.” You smiled.
“Biology?” You nodded.
“Well, sort of.” You gave a small laugh. “Chemical engineering. Moving on to biomedical engineering for my masters.” His eyes widened at your statement.
“So you’re a genius, too?” He asked.
“If you want to say that, sure.” You played into it. “What about you, Jacob?”
“I’m a musician.” You narrowed your stare at him.
“Any good?”
“I’d like to think so,” he responded, eyes crinkling with the upturn of his lips. “I guess I’ll have to show you sometime so you can judge for yourself.”
“Yeah, I guess so.” You trailed off. “So that’s why you have such a good taste in music, then?” He gave a small shrug.
“I grew up on the type of music you like.” Was all he replied.
“So you play rock music?”
“Modern rock, yeah.”
“That’s actually really cool.” You admitted. “You play guitar, don’t you?” He nodded.
“How’d you know?”
“Woman’s intuition, if you may.” You scooted your chair closer to him. He welcomed it, doing the same. “So you’re just passing through town, then?”
“Yeah, we had a show here last night. We’re gonna be here for a couple days, though.” He was much more intriguing than you’d originally pegged him for.
“Where’s home for you, then?” You pried, genuinely wanting to know him now.
“Michigan.” He answered, setting his glass back on the countertop. “You?”
“Washington.” You replied.
“You’re a long way from home, then.” He noted.
“Well, I couldn’t really turn down a scholarship from John Hopkins.” You practically scoffed. “My parents would have killed me if I did.” You laughed.
“Yeah, fair enough.” He conceded. “How far along are you?” He asked.
“I’m in my third year of my undergrad. I’m finishing up my bachelor’s early, then I’m starting my masters in the fall.” Jake was blown away at your words.
“You amaze me.” His expression showed nothing short of admiration.
“I guess I can add ‘impressing celebrities’ to my resume.” You smirked, leaning forward slightly. Perhaps it was the alcohol lowering your common sense, but he looked very good, and you’d likely never see him again. It was a win-win for you. “I think I’d like to make your time in Maryland memorable, Jake the rockstar.”
“You already have, Y/n the engineer.” He was leaning in now, too.
“Oh, so you don’t want to kiss me?” You teased. Your noses were practically touching, the smell of whiskey on his breath was driving you crazy.
“No, I would love to kiss you.” He assured you.
“What are you waiting for, Jacob?” Before you could say anything else, his mouth was on yours, desperate to know what you tasted like. It was heated, both of you tipsy and fuelled by attraction, but it wasn’t sloppy. When you pulled away, you giggled at the lipstick that stained his lips. “Reds your colour, I think.” You wiped away the smudge with your thumb. He couldn’t hold back his smile, placing a kiss to the pad of your finger.
“You think so?”
“Mhm,” you hummed. But, in your true nature, you stood, cutting the moment short. “Come find me before you leave, rockstar.” You placed another kiss on his lips, walking away without another word. He followed you with his eyes, dumbfounded at the sight of you walking away. He watched you until you disappeared back into the sea of people, not sure if he should follow or not.
You ventured back to the pool table, joining your friends once more. They didn’t notice you right away, but when the girls caught sight of you, they had a shock at your smudged lipstick. Instead of explaining, you grabbed a pool cue and started up another game after convincing one of the boys to go buy a round of shots.
Jake joined his brothers in the booth, wordless and still trying to comprehend the interaction you’d shared with him moments before. “How did that go?” Josh snickered.
“I… I don’t know.” He said. “I mean, she kissed me, then she just… left.” His twin reached out and gave him a reassuring pat on the back.
“Maybe you’re a bad kisser,” Sam chirped, earning a pointed look from his eldest brother.
“Did she say anything else?” Josh questioned.
“She told me to find her before I leave.”
“Well that’s not a bad thing, then!” He exclaimed, trying to cheer him up.
“I don’t know, man. I’ve never met anyone like her before. I’m scared I might’ve blown my shot.” He sighed, swirling the ice around in his cup.
“You’ll just have to find her, later.” Sam shrugged. “Then you’ll know for sure.”
Back at the pool table, you were on your last solid ball, eyes already on the 8-ball and planning your victory. You lined up your shot, guiding the cue through your fingers and knocking it into the cue ball. It bounced into the orange one, hitting it against the corner and rolling it back into a corner pocket. You gave a smirk of triumph at Ben’s roommate, who still had three balls left to sink. He said nothing, barely willing to make eye contact with you before you took aim again. You shot at the black ball, eyes following it carefully as it landed in the hole without issue. You placed your cue on the table and gave your opponent a sweet smile.
“I’ll take another Jack and Coke. Make it a double, honey.” You told him. Instead of arguing, he placed his own stick down and nodded, walking to the bar without another word. While waiting for him to return, you checked your makeup in your phone camera. You pulled out a tube of lipstick, reapplying it in the places it had worn off. When your refill was brought back to you, you thanked the boy and turned to your own roommates. “I’m going outside, anyone joining?” You asked. The girls nodded, grabbing their drinks. They scuttled behind you as you made your move toward the door. The bouncer caught sight of the drink in your hand and moved in front of the exit before you could get outside.
“You can’t bring that out there, y/n.” He told you.
“Oh, come on. You know I’m coming right back in.” You bargained with him. He didn’t budge. You put on a little bit of an act, letting an innocent look fall over your features. “You know, a lady is never supposed to leave her drink unattended. You never know what could happen.” He faltered, shaking his head, knowing he wasn’t going to win the argument.
“Fine, but make it quick. Don’t let Mike see you, either.” He warned.
“You know he couldn’t stay mad at me.” You reminded.
“It’s not you I’m worried about,” he chuckled. You blew him a kiss as you passed by, Ally and Eve following close behind.
The night was cool, but it felt nice after being inside the warm bar. The exposed skin on your legs filled with goosebumps at the sudden breeze, but you paid no mind to it. You handed one of the girls your drink, pulling a cigarette pack out of your purse. You took one between your lips, offering it around to the others. They each took one, mimicking your actions. You took your lighter and lit all of them, slipping it back into your bra. You took your drink back, letting out a long exhale of smoke. “You guys having fun?” You asked.
“I’d be having more fun if you could set me up with one of mystery boy’s brothers.” Eve said. You gave a low chuckle.
“You can have mystery boy, too.” You flicked off the ash that was accumulating on the end of your cigarette.
“Why? What’s wrong with him?” Ally asked, eyes wide.
“Nothing,” you shrugged “he was a good kisser, probably a good lay, too. Just not looking for anything like that.” You were lying. You were very into him, even before he’d kissed you. If it were with him, you’d be willing to try another relationship. You barely knew the guy, but he had an effect on you you’d never felt before. You knew if he walked out of the bar and joined you, he’d have you wrapped around his finger, and you didn’t like that feeling.
“Babe, he may be a fantastic guy. He seems really into you. I think you should give him a chance.” Eve pushed.
“I told you, not interested.” You replied, leaving it at that. “He’s a musician, anyway. Best case scenario, I fall for him and I get to see him twice a year. Doesn’t sound fantastic to me.”
“No, y/n, the best case scenario is you get to know each other and he treats you really well. Maybe he’d even take you across the world with him.” Ally interjected. You scoffed.
“As if I have time to travel across the world with a horny rockstar.”
“Don’t let you-know-who ruin this for you.” Eve warned.
“I don’t want to talk about him; how I feel has nothing to do with him.” You snapped. She knew your ex-boyfriend was an off-limit topic. She conceded, still knowing that you weren’t being 100% truthful. He’d really fucked you up, and was still trying his best to make you miserable months after your dramatic end by following you around, blowing up your phone non-stop, and ruining any new, blossoming relationships before they could amount to anything. You wanted nothing more to do with him after your caught him hooking up with a sorority girl at a house party, and that was one of the lesser injustices he’d committed against you in the time of your relationship. You were surprised he hadn’t shown up at the bar, yet, just to disturb your night. The cigarettes were slowly dwindling to an end and the tension had yet to subside. “I’m going to have another one, I’ll meet you guys in there.” They nodded, departing back into the building. They were well aware you just needed a minute alone; you’d be fine by the time you went back inside.
You lit another cigarette, leaning back against the building with no real thoughts. You watched the passerby’s, wondering quietly about what was going on in their heads. People were fascinating. It was always strange to think that every person that passed by had their own stories, thoughts and dreams. At face value, they were just bodies. You couldn’t begin to fathom the amount of memories and tales each person that walked by held in their minds.
“Penny for your thoughts?” A voice broke you out of your own mind. You looked up to see the same blue button-up and black jeans from earlier.
“Following me, rockstar?” You smiled. He shook his head, holding up his own pack of cigarettes.
“Just luck.” He leaned against the wall next to you, not close enough to make you uncomfortable, but enough to make your heart flutter.
“Guess so,” your usually witty comments seemed to be lost. The liquor coursing through your veins seemed to be making the decisions rather than your conscious mind, now. All you knew was that he was gorgeous, and you’d never have to see him again after the night was through. You hated that you were so back-and-fourth with your own mind, but you couldn’t help it. Those were your only justifications for what you said next. “Do you plan on taking me home tonight, Jacob?” You turned your head slightly, peeking at him through the corner of your eye.
“If you’ll let me.” He looked at you, now.
“I think that would be alright.” You said, turning your body towards him. He mimicked you, eyes finally fully landing on your face. He let out a shaky breath, stunned by your beauty. He thought he’d never get to experience it that close to him again. Without another word, you threw your cigarette to the ground and pulled him in by his shirt collar, landing your lips on his for the second time that night.
His hand shot to your hip, pulling you into him. Your tongue darted over his bottom lip, begging him to open his mouth. He did so without hesitation, knowing that he’d take you right there if it meant he got to have you at all. You were lost in the feeling, the taste of him intoxicating you more than any of the liquor you’d drank that night. You felt as though nothing could break your focus from the beautiful boy in front of you. But, all things come to an end, and in this case, it was by your name being called frantically.
“Hey, sorry to break up the moment, but we’ve got a problem.” Both of your roommates were in front of you, wide eyed and anxious. You were still coming back to reality, confusion etched in your features.
“What is it?” You finally mustered, taking a step back from Jake, who also looked very disgruntled.
“He’s here. He saw us, and he’s looking for you.” Your expression turned stone cold. Jake looked between you and the girls he didn’t know the name of, silently begging for someone to tell him what was going on. “We have to go.” They tried to usher you away, but you kept your feet planted to the ground.
“Let him find me.” There was no shakiness in your tone; you were serious, almost eager for him to come outside.
“I don’t know if that’s a good idea.” Ally said, shifting on her feet.
“I think it is.” You brought you drink to your lips, draining the last of the liquid into your mouth and swallowing it down. “This is my bar.” You reminded them.
“Okay, hold on,” Jake said, intervening now. “What isn’t a good idea?” With that, the front door to the building opened and a boy stepped outside, eyes immediately settling on you. You took a step forward, a smile twisting on your face.
“Finally found me, then?” You handed your glass off to one of your roommates, not looking to see who grabbed it. His eyes were menacing, but they had never scared you before, and they certainly weren’t, now.
“Didn’t have to look very hard.” He took a step towards you. Jake was watching, still unsure of the situation. He looked to the other two girls for an answer, but they weren’t paying any attention to him. “Just had to find the sluttiest outfit at the shittiest bar.”
“This is getting pretty pathetic, Aaron.” You crossed your arms over your chest, giving him a look of disdain.
“It’s been months. You won’t speak to me, you won’t answer my calls, you won’t even fucking look at me when we pass each other on the street.”
“I wonder why,” you rolled your eyes. “We broke up. You were an asshole, I left. Get over it.” You snapped. “Stop following me around to the bars and waiting for me outside of my apartment complex. It’s creepy; get a fucking life.”
“Maybe I would stop if you would just talk to me! I just want to have a conversation, maybe figure this out.” You scoffed.
“No, I don’t think we’ll be ‘figuring this out’ any time soon. Or ever, really. Take the fucking hint and move on. Or get some help, preferably.” He took a step towards you, a look of warning crossing his features.
“Don’t speak to me like that.” His voice was low.
“Should we stop her?” Jake whispered to your roommates, wondering if they were really going to let you take on a guy two times your size all on your own. They both looked back at him, having to bite back a grin.
“Honey, if you’re really interested in her, you’ve gotta understand: nobody can stop her. Most we can do is cheer her on.” The red-head explained. He was still nervous, looking at you and the unknown guy. He was towering over you, but you had no intent on backing down.
“Should we help her, then?” He asked.
“I promise, she doesn’t need any help.” The blonde one spoke now, a ghost of a laugh lingering in her tone. Jake backed down, deciding it was best to just watch how things played out before getting involved.
“You don’t even have the decency to give me any closure, and I come out here and see you whoring around with,” he looked at Jake for a moment. You could see the gears turning in his head while he searched for a good insult. “Van Halen wannabe?” You almost giggled at his shitty pass at Jake.
“At least the Van Halen wannabe could get me off if he wanted to.” You cackled. Your roommates gave Jake a pat on the back, reassuring him that it was alright. He wasn’t even paying attention to the insult thrown at him, more worried about you. There was quite a crowd forming now, everyone wanting to see what the fuss was about. Although, Jake did happen to notice, everybody was looking at the boy as if they were scared for him.
“Sure, you’re laughing now, but you won’t be when you realize he won’t stick around, either. You’re not worth much more than a quick fuck. He’ll realize that pretty soon, too.” The demeanour shifted quickly. You were no longer in a mood to throw insults back and fourth all night. You were itching for a fight. “You can spit out insults all you want, but it won’t change the fact that you’ll end up alone. Wasn’t hard to find someone better. All I had to do was bring home the first girl I saw at that party.” Your vision turned red, furious at the thought he’d even bring up that night. Your hands were vibrating, fuelled with rage at the sight of him, now.
Before anyone could do anything to stop it, your arm raised, hand balled as tight as you could get it, and you swung at his face. Your fist connected with his nose, knocking him backwards. He stumbled, hand coming up to grab where you’d hit him. “Sure, Aaron.” You shook your hand out, barely paying any mind to the stinging. “If telling yourself that helps you sleep at night, keep it up! But if you’re going to lie about it, you can at least leave me alone. Hard to believe you can find someone better when you’re still chasing after me like a lost puppy.” You gave him a sweet smile. He had straightened up and approached you again, about to open his mouth for another jab. Before he could, you moved swiftly, landing another punch to his face. “Now do me a favour and stay the fuck away from me.” It felt nice. You’d been waiting to do that for a long time, finally happy the perfect moment had presented itself.
By that point, the bouncer had caught on that something was going on outside. He’d pushed through the crowd, catching sight of you. “Y/n! Again?” He snapped, making a move towards you. You let out a laugh, stepping back.
“Sorry, Cody!” You shouted your apology to the bouncer as you turned towards your roommates. “Tell Mike I’ll see him next weekend!” You grabbed the girls hands, staring to make a run for it. Jake watched, still trying to process the entire interaction that had unfolded in front of him, amazed that a single punch from you could have knocked a boy that size, backwards. He only clued in to what was happening when you paused in front of a building a few down from where he was standing. You were pulling your heels off, still trying to walk while you did so.
“Wait, y/n!” He called after you, not willing to let you get away that easily. You turned back to look at him, faltering for a moment.
“Sorry, rockstar!” You yelled back, genuinely feeling your chest ache as you ran away. “Nice meeting you!” Your voice echoed through the street. You thought maybe you should turn around and get his number, but pushed the thought away. He was leaving in a few days and he’d likely never remember you, anyway. You told yourself it was for best.
Jake watched your silhouette disappear into the night, debating running after you. But he stood, frozen, until you were completely out of sight. He was head over heels for you from the minute he saw you, even more so now after seeing you hold your own against a man two feet taller than you and probably a hundred pounds heavier. In the background, he could hear the bouncer scrambling your ex-boyfriend to his feet, eager to get him off the property before he had to call the cops. Jake didn’t care to pay attention to it, though, because he was only caught up in wondering if he’d just let the love of his life run away without even getting your last name.

“It’s Lilly,” Heeseung snarled down the bond, “she’s here.”
You and Sunoo were in the library, reading up on everything magic related to helping Jake and his mate, when the bomb went off.
Sunoo sensed something was wrong before it happened. Quickly rushing to you, taking you in his arms, and rushing you out of the library and across the castle before the explosion happened. A massive hole now resides on the right side of the castle. Fires broke out and people were screaming. The servants, both vampire and human, were either dead from the blast or debris, were on fire, or were injured.
Sunoo stared at the wall with widened eyes, his arms squeezing you tighter against him, “Sunoo!” you screamed at him through the ringing of your pointed ears. Sunoo could barely hear you, barely even register that you were talking. His head hurt from the ear ringing and the sounds and smells of people dying around him. It wasn’t until Heeseung was shouting down the bond for Sunoo to snap out of his daze.
“WHERE IS EVERYONE?! ARE YOU ALL OKAY!?” Heeseung screamed down the pack bond, “ANSWER ME!!!”
All the boys started shouting down the bond at once, Heeseung shutting them up and directing out orders.
Sunoo faced you, “YN,” he said softly, cupping your face and wiping the dirt from your cheek, “You and __ need to tend to the injured, can you do that for me?”
You stared at your mate, shaking your head, “No, I don’t want to leave you!”
“YN,” he said sternly, the playfulness that was once on his face was long gone, filled with such seriousness as his eyes started to glow red, “I need you to do this for me, Heeseung needs you to do this.”
You slowly nodded, dreading what was to come. Nothing felt right. You couldn’t shake the feeling something bad was about to happen.
Sunoo smiled at you, “We’ll be reunited soon, my love.” All you could do was nod again, feeling his lips pressed to your forehead, “I love you.”
“I love you,” you said back, wanting to say more but didn’t, or couldn’t because Sunghoon appeared at your side.
“Sunoo,” he said quickly, “We need to get to the lobby.”
“Where is __?” Sunoo asked, taking notice of his hyung’s witch mate not at his side.
“She’s still outside the castle,” he looks to you, “I ran here as fast as I could, please make sure she gets inside safe for me.”
You nodded, “Of course,” you looked to your mate, squeezing his hand, “Find your brothers, go!”
Sunoo quickly kissed you and was gone, Sunghoon following behind him.
You quickly make your way to the exit to the field, barely peeking your head out in time to see your witchy friend sprinting, you wave her in, “Hurry! we need to help those we can!”
She nodded, adjusting the bag on her shoulder as she followed behind you. __ looked out of it, not completely there. But you understood why. This was a repeat of what happened to her coven.
Jay and Niki were already moving the injured into a safer room, their screams and smells of burnt flesh filled your nose. You wanted to cry, to run out of this room and erase the images from your brain. War…this is what happens during war. What was happening now was nothing compared to the battle against Dorian that day…innocent people weren’t involved.
“__ and __!!!” Jay yelled, snapping you from your thoughts, “Hurry!”
You and the witch were at his side now. Jay was bent over one of the guards, his hands pressed tightly to his side above his hip and blood was everywhere.
“He’s human,” the witch whispered, studying how pale the male looked, “how did a human become a part of the guard…”
You quickly look at Jay, studying his eyes with concern.
He chuckles, “I’m a doctor, YN, human blood doesn’t faze me. I’m okay.”
You knew that and still shoved his hands away, replacing them with yours, the male's blood staining your skin, “What do you need us to do?”
Jay directed what he needed from the both of you, to use what magic you could to help save these people but not to drain the magic out completely in case it was needed elsewhere.
The witch hovered her hands over yours, purple magic leaking from your fingertips, “We got this, get Niki and find the others,” she said, giving Jay a look of confidence, “We can handle this here.”
Jay nodded, leaving the two of you. He had to find Heeseung and the others ASAP.
Heeseung had Jungwon at his side, directing orders to the guards and army that weren’t injured. Sending them to specific places throughout the castle. Heeseung had a feeling he knew what was happening, it was too obvious and too planned out for this to be some random thing happening.
“I need everyone to meet me and Jungwon in the lobby,” Heeseung says to just his brothers down the bond, “As soon as you can.”
Jungwon stayed on Heeseung’s heels as they marched to the lobby where the explosion happened. Both Heeseung and Jungwon had their jaws locked tightly and hands in fists.
“This isn’t a coincidence,” Jungwon said through his teeth, “War is finally happening.”
Heeseung nodded. Darting his eyes in every direction as they walked to the source of the explosion, barely turning the corner and seeing an army of enemies storming into his castle. Matching eye contact with the source.
“It’s Lilly,” Heeseung snarled down the bond, “she’s here.”
Sunoo and Sunghoon quickly looked at each other, dropping the broken wooden planks that covered an area and trapping people inside from the explosion, at the same moment Jake, Jay, and Niki appeared at their sides.
Each of their eyes burned red, “Lilly…”Jay growled, his fists clenching.
“We need to go, NOW!” Jake snapped, “He’s going to try and take Lilly on his own!!”
“He has Jungwon with him,” Jay corrected, quickly removing the debris from the door, “he’ll kill us if we leave these people here, “Get a move on so we can get to him!”
The five of them quickly made haste, moving as quickly as they could.
“Heeseung,” Jungwon warned, taking a few steps in front of him, “Stand down.”
Heeseung might be the king, but Jungwon is the leader of his pack. So he relaxed, keeping his eyes locked on Lilly.
She tilted her hair, her long red hair falling over her shoulder, “That’s new, watching a king actually listen to people below him.”
Heeseung’s eyes glowed golden, his fangs coming to a point, “We don’t have rank in my pack,” he hissed.
“Oh, but aren’t you listening to Jungwon? He’s your leader, no? While you’re the king.”
Heeseung took a step forward, Jungwon holding his arm out, “Heeseung.” he snapped. “Wait for the others,” he said to him through the bond.
Lilly shifted her gaze to Jungwon, “How is __ holding up?”
Jungwon was the one snarling now, his eyes bright red and fangs pointed, “Don’t speak of her!”
Lilly pulled her knife from her hip, twirling it between her fingers, “She should be dead,” she looked between Won and Heeseung, a smirk on her face, “I would have killed your queen right after, where is she by the way?”
Heeseung tensed, trying to keep his thoughts clear. His queen was with Jungwon’s mate at the furthest end of the castle, keeping her safe and away from harm's way. No one knows how well __ would do with her electricity powers right now. And since Heeseung already assumed Lilly was behind the attack, it only made sense for his queen and __ to be somewhere away from all this. Mostly if Lilly came to retrieve her.
Lilly laughed, continuing to twirl the knife in circles, “Guess, I’ll have to go find your two mates myself.”
So this was a planned attack. She’s here for our mates.
“You won’t come near my mate!” Jungwon snapped, his weapon now appearing in his hand. He almost lost his mate once, and he’s not going to again. He refuses to feel that pain of feeling her dying.
Lilly cocked her head and then moved. Heeseung didn’t have time to stop Jungwon before he was also moving.  His and Lilly’s blades crash together and Jungwon reaches for her neck with his free hand.
Heeseung was moving now, pulling his double blades out. He cut deep into her shoulder, sending her back and away from Jungwon. Her skin burned from his blades.
“How did you get weapons that were forged for only the king?” he hissed, stepping in front of Jungwon.
Lilly held her hand tightly to her shoulder, her blood dripping out and she smirked, “It wouldn’t be a secret if I told you, now would it?”
Heeseung lunged for her and Jungwon followed behind.
All their blades crashed and sparked together with each hit, all three moving too quickly for the other to get any direct hits in.
That was until…
“JUNGWON!!”
Lilly dug the knife into his shoulder, his skin burned and blood dripped to the floor. Jungwon kept his jaw locked even as he screamed through his teeth. His fangs were on full display as his eyes burned their crimson.
Heeseung felt it, Jungwon’s mate’s worry. How he was now fighting his queen. Heeseung needed to end this quickly.
He reached for Lilly, taking a fist full of her hair and yanking her back. She kept a grip on her blade as it slid from Jungwon’s shoulder.
“DON'T LET HER GET AWAY!” Jungwon yelled, his eyes glowing even more as he dropped to his knees, hands pressing tightly to his shoulder, “TAKE HER OUT!”
Heeseung didn’t need to be told twice. His blade reached for her neck, but she dropped her weight to the floor, taking her blade and cutting the hair that was in Heeseung’s grasp, the red locks falling to the floor.
He chuckled, tossing the rest out of his hands, “Bold move, you definitely need to trim the rest though.”
“Shut up!” she hissed, clearly pissed about her new haircut.
Heeseung rushed towards her again but then time seemed to slow down.
Jungwon’s breathing became uneven, his body crashing to the floor and his hands laying at his sides. He needed medical attention quickly. Heeseung’s eyes widened at seeing his second, his brother, dying on the floor before him.
Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, and Sunoo made it just in time to see Won fall to the floor and…
Heeseung was now screaming. Screaming so loud his throat was hurting. Screaming as he shoved both his blades into the back of Lilly’s shoulders, even with her blade shoved deeply into his abdomen. His skin burned, worse than what her skin was, all because he was the king.
She quickly pulled the blade out and shoved it back in, creating another wound and Heeseung’s scream got louder. Damn, it sucked having the king's power. Is this how it felt when he killed the previous king? How his skin burn and throb?
“HEESEUNG!!! HEESEUNG!!” his queen screamed down the bond, “Answer me please, HEESEUNG!”
But he was in too much pain to respond, keeping his jaw locked tightly. Lilly smirked through her pain, “I’m going to take your power,” with another slide of her blade being pulled out and back in, Heeseung was feeling dizzy. He dropped his arms to his side, and she pushed him over.
Before Heeseung’s body could touch the ground, Sunoo caught him, while the other rushed at Lilly.
“Heeseung,” Sunoo said, pulling his body away from the fight, “Stay with me!”
Sunoo looked down at Jungwon, seeing just in time his mate and the queen running into the lobby.
“Oh my god,” the queen cried, taking Heeseung away from Sunoo and in her arms. Heeseung gritted his teeth at the movement, clearly in pain, “Stay with me, babe.”
“YN,” Sunoo called to you, “Get __ and come here now!”
You and the witch were already on the way before Sunoo even called to you. You both felt it when Jungwon was hurt. You both felt and heard when Heeseung was stabbed.
The fight had to be worse than you were expecting. Because when you and the witch reached the others, Sunghoon had got stabbed in the back. Niki got his bicep gashed, Jay had Heeseung’s blades in both hands with a gash at his forearm and Jake had blood running down his cheek from the small cut she swung at him.
You quickly glanced around the room for Sunoo, seeing him still at the king’s side.
The witch ran to Jungwon, pulling his mate's crystal out of her bag and handing it to her, “In case this gets uglier.”
His mate held the crystal to her chest and tears streamed down her face, “Help my Wonnie.”
You reached Sunoo and dropped to the floor by Heeseung and the queen’s side, hovering your hands over his abdomen sending as much magic as you could down onto him and you shake your head, “He’s lost too much blood. He’s fading.”
Heeseung was barely able to keep his eyes open, using all the strength he had to stay alive. He’d be damned to let Lilly have the crown.
Sunoo kept his eyes locked on the fight, watching his brothers one by one, fall due to their injuries. His hands were shaking as he watched Jay twirl Heeseung’s blades in his hands. Sunoo had to do something. Fast.
You could feel Sunoo's pain and hear how fast his heart was racing as he watched his family fight Lilly.
This fight was different from the one with Dorian. He didn’t have the blades Lilly did, he wasn’t able to fight and do the damage she was doing.
And before you knew it, Sunoo was moving. You yelled after him, but he didn’t listen. He needed to help his brothers.
He pulled his weapon out, gripping the hilt as he lunged for Lilly with Jay. Taking turns swinging their weapons. Lilly was definitely slowly down from the blood loss and the anger Jay was feeling was fueling him to keep going despite the gash on his forearm and the blood that dripped down.
Lilly made a final twist, shoving her blade into Sunoo’s chest, he hissed and gritted his teeth but kept fighting, shoving his blade into her chest and jumping, wrapping his legs around her waist and shifting his whole body to the side, pinning her now to the floor.
Sunoo pulled the blade from his chest and held it to her neck, ready to end it.
“DON'T KILL HER!!” Heeseung managed to say with what little breath he was able to use from your healing abilities. The witch was now at his other side also pumping magic into the wound.
Sunoo knew why his king wanted her alive. To torture her, ask her questions. Find any other army or plans she might be hiding. But at the same time, Sunoo didn’t understand. This woman caused enough problems. Jay was now at Sunoo’s side, and Heeseung’s weapons were also held to her throat.
“What you expect us to do then?” Jay snapped.
Lilly kept smirking even when three blades made of the king’s metal were pressed to her skin.
There was the sound of glass breaking from it hitting the floor. Sunoo glanced over to see Jungwon’s mate and the yellow current flowing through her. The electricity pulsing at her hands and anger on her face.
“Ahhh!” Sunoo smiled, looking down at Lilly underneath him, “Tap tap.”
Lilly gritted her teeth, remembering how it felt like the time she was well, shocked.
__ ran over, the flow of the current on her hands pulsated more but was completely controlled even had she knelt down to Lilly’s face and placed both hands on the side of her face, sending the electricity in her body and registering her unconscious.
You and the witch did what you both could to heal the boys and their injuries. Jungwon finally woke up and was moving around before you all knew it. Jake’s mate bandaged his face. The witch was wrapping a healing bandage around Sunghoon’s back and chest, yelling at him to keep still. Jay let you heal what you could of his forearm, and did the rest himself. Niki was taken care of by the witch and his mate wrapped the bandage around his bicep. Heeseung lay in the queen’s lap, falling unconscious after he was healed and bandaged up. The queen played with his hair as she held him. The king might be unconscious, but he was alive.
Sunoo leaned up against the staircase, watching you carefully as you finished up healing what you could of his wound and now placed burn ointment around where he was burnt from the blade, “YN,” he whispered, lifting a hand and cupping your face, “Talk to me.”
You looked up at him, “I felt like my heart was about to stop at seeing you get stabbed.”
Sunoo just smiled, placing his thumb on the other side of his chest, “But I am perfectly fine! See!” you tried to smile at his playfulness. But you couldn’t shake away the feeling you felt when he was stabbed. Sunoo was lucky he had anger and adrenaline rushing through him to be able to handle that stab wound. He was lucky it wasn’t deep either. “Hey,” he said again, bringing you back to him, “I love you.”
You leaned into his touch, “I love you too, sun.”
His hand trailed from your face to the tip of your pointy ear, “Everything is okay.”
You wanted to assume it was. So you nod and hum in agreement, finishing putting the burn ointment on his chest and wrapping a bandage around him.
The other five boys were now discussing where to put Lilly until Heeseung woke up again.
You and Sunoo watched the boys discuss, and watched how their mates slowly walked away from them, leaving them to discuss in peace.
“I probably should be over there,” Sunoo said with a sassy sigh.
You helped him up to his feet and wrapped a blanket around his bare chest. Your fingers gripped the blanket, “I’m happy no one was badly hurt.”
Sunoo softly smiled at you, leaning down and pressing a kiss to your forehead, “You and __ did everything you could, and that’s all we could ask for. Everyone is alive because of you. We are unbreakable.”
You sigh, releasing his blanket and ruffling his hair, “Go join your brothers.”
Sunoo pulled you in quickly, his lips making home against yours. Kissing you with so much want and need and passion and love. Sunoo was just as happy as you were that everyone was okay. That he was still breathing. He could only imagine the pain you were feeling. The pain Heeseung was feeling as he fought to stay conscious and watched his brothers get injured.
Sunoo pushed the thoughts to the back of his head and focused on your lips and how his tongue slowly tried to push them apart.
“Sunoo!” Jungwon yelled, “You are just as much as the family as the rest, get over here and join this discussion!”
Sunoo giggled against your lips and gave you one final kiss before running off to his brothers.
E sighed and looked around the room, “Thank you all for joining this meeting.” His eyes wandered between each of the six boys, barely stopping on their mates as he kept them moving. “The king is still unconscious,” he said with a sigh, “We need to discuss what to do.”
“Let him rest,” the queen said quickly with poison-laced in her voice, “My husband was stabbed three times and only survived thanks to our magic members. There’s no need to discuss what needs to be done. Let. Him. Rest.”
You look at the queen, loving how held high she kept yourself despite her mate being unresponsive. It’s got to be from the effect of being king and almost dying. His body took a massive blow. E cleared his throat and the queen looked at him quickly, the scar on her face turning red with her skin from anger.
“I mean, my queen,” he said quickly correcting his attitude, “Until the king wakes up, someone needs to step in his place.”
The queen chuckles, “Am I chopped liver? I’m his wife. Heeseung and I followed every protocol this place had for me to have just as many rights as him!”
E looked away from the queen, “And you still have just as many rights, but you still need a king at your side.”
“And that means, what? Exactly?” she hissed.
“One of the boys in this room will have to fill his shoes until he wakes up.”
The six vampires glance at each other. One of them has to act like a king? A false king? What for?
“Can I ask why?” Jungwon said, shifting forward in his chair, “As Heeseung’s second in command and the leader of this pack, what need is there for a replacement king when we’ve been doing perfectly fine until we walked into this place?”
E smiled, “Because if the world catches wind that the real king is unconscious and if Lilly has more forces out there, what do you think will happen, Yang Jungwon?”
Jungwon narrowed his eyes and leaned back in his chair. E was right, even if no one wanted him to be.
“On that note,” E said, keeping his eyes locked on Jungwon, “Second in command, will you be the false king?”
Jungwon’s eyes widened and looked between his brothers and shook his head, “No, I am not fit to be the replacement.”
“As if!” Sunghoon shouted, “You’re our leader! The second in command to the king! What do you mean you aren’t fit?!?”
“Exactly!” Jake added, “Won, no one else but you can do it!”
Jungwon kept shaking his head, “No. I refuse.”
Sunoo, Jay, and Niki sat in silence, listening to their brothers bicker.
“Okay!” Jay yelled, standing up, his family quieting down, “Since I am the second oldest and have been with Heeseung the longest…I’ll be the false king.”
Sunoo whipped his head to Jay, “Hyung! Are you sure?!” Sunoo squeezed your hand, clearly worried.
Jay pulled Heeseung’s blades from the strap at his pockets, “Lilly has caused enough trouble. She broke into my apartment and threatened my mate. She stabbed Heeseung three times, almost killing him. I want to do this. For my family, my pack. For Heeseung.”
E glanced around the room, seeing no one abjecting, “It’s settled then, Jay will be the false king.”
They all sat in the meeting room. It was late at night and not a soul was around except for the six vampires and their mates and the queen.
“You really think there’s a spy here?” Niki whispered, “Is that possible?”
Jungwon nodded, “How else did she find the castle? And get the king's weapons? You can’t just find that information on the internet or at the store.”
All the boys nodded.
“Who do you think it is?” The witch asked, “Who do we need to watch out for?”
The queen nodded, “Not only that, we need to keep an eye on Heeseung the entire time too, if there is a spy.”
Jay leaned back in his chair, twirling Heeseung’s blades, “I have an idea. But we need to be careful.”
