How did you and klai became friends

well anon tbh it kinda just happened over time. at the start we would casually just acknowledge eachother in vcs with other ppl, and were mutuals on tumblr. i remember our first private interaction involved me breaking down klai's door for an art trade, so who's really the persecutor in this relationship? (/j) after a while we kind of started to talk more and then it began to escalate.

happy ummm 8th month on t? (9th if i were actually on t continuously but i ran out for a month that one time) i used to do monthly t updates on tiktok but i dont rlly feel like doing that rn so i'll yap about it here (its actually wild how little stuff i have about my transition on my tumblr generally speaking? as if this isnt the website that transed my gender in the first place)

it really is hard to notice such gradual changes from month to month, especially if its just me lookin at myself, compared to seeing a doctor in person which, i am getting rx'd T thru telehealth currently as my nearest planned parenthood or even a neighboring one does not actually do gender affirming care which is. insane and whack. esp when i do live in a pretty populated county maybe second or third to nyc and albany area. and i have to call in to a pp THREE HOURS BY TRANSIT from me. but like, its been working for now ok!

mentally and emotionally ive been very up and down overall but i think thats largely due to my medication changes rather than hormones. ALTHOUGH. when i ran out for a month in november and my period came back... dude it was so horrible like genuinely the worst period of my life. its one of those things where i didnt realize just how dysphoric something could make me feel until i had a taste of being able to alleviate said dysphoria. so mentally speaking testosterone is probably pulling the mental train even more than the wellbutrin lol. and im trying not to account too much for circumstance/environment cuz like OBVIOUSLY if things were going smoothly for me there a lot of my emotional issues would be at least somewhat relieved, but im working with what i got.

physically, since starting t in july i have lost weight. at first i was very scared it was my medication, and i think a part of it was at least a little, like two of my meds can cause some weight loss, but i am no longer losing weight in a concerning way but just yknow the regular amount of daily fluctuation. so i do think a lot of my weight loss was due to hormones just shifting around my fat and all that, or something idk lol. everyones so diff with hormones, i know some trans guys gain weight on t and not necessarily from muscle training, i know girls on e who have lost weight without any changes to diet or exercise, it really depends so as always, this is just my experience etc etc

i do have more facial hair but its still quite patchy, i think i might start filling in my stache tho. with my shitty goatee, its not my fav so i shave it off when im not just sitting inside all day, but also idk it makes my chin feel less. round. or smth. i do always think of my one friend telling me ill look like the lead singer of a nü metal band and honestly maybe i should start giving that energy more anyway! embrace goatee lifestyle!

oh yeah my voice dropped in like the first two months and has gotten deeper since, and on timtom i talked a lot about wanting to maintain the vocal range i had pre-t? i dont think thats fully possible like i think the highest notes i used to reach are just inaccessible to me, but i think if i did some like vocal singing warmups i can get back up to reach those higher notes. in retrospect the way ive sung my whole life has actually prob been destructive on my voice, partly from lack of proper training and partly intentionally trying to sound deeper and more gravelly, but now that i can access deeper sounds more naturally i really do wanna work on singing in a better way where i can reach some of those notes.

overall yea im liking whats happening so far, i do wish it was happening faster but i understand that some people dont get the progress ive gotten for like, YEARS, and new progressions will be happening to me for years after today. if you think about "real" puberty, it is a gradual shift its not like you suddenly grow a chest as soon as you Bleed or whatever its different for literally every person and since im the only one in my family that i know of who has done this, im kind of a guinea pig. but like im okay with that! anyway yeah really recommrnd testosterone if u want it i like it :)

been mia for almost 4 months after being so active in writing, the ecq must have really made me productive in blogging because the moment it has been lifted, i had no time in writing again. haha! just kidding. i just felt like there’s nothing really amusing going on with my life. i thought that there’s nothing to share in terms of new beginnings, new journeys, or new experiences. my life has been in normal or just straight for awhile now and i thought it’s not interesting to write about it. but i really guess that’s how being an adult is, everything goes simple and it felt like there’s nothing to really worry about, you have a stable job, an amazing bond with your family, a stable relationship with my boyfriend, best friends and friends. although i can keep on writing about how this government makes our daily even more shitty every morning when we wake up, but i guess some of  you wouldn’t like that and i don’t want that either, it’s gonna be exhausting and toxic. anyway, here are some life updates  that has been going on with life:

when the ecq has been lifted, my brother and his family decided to come back here in our house. at first, everyone was so in denial in believing that everything will turn up just right because everyone’s been trying to work on this relationship for yeas and that turned worst that we thought. my brother decided to come back because our house is more accessible for everyone and then Kael will be having his online classes for the new normal and they don’t have internet in the house they stayed in. it has been 3 months, i guess? and it’s quite working well. hopefully, it’ll stay that way. anyway, my sister-in-law, Mich, helped me in coloring my hair which i was really planning before the lockdown but i guess i was really late to realize that the store whose selling hair products is gonna be closing too. so, i really wanted to color my hair from top to bottom, pink but she’s really digging the hair pegs that she saw on the internet so she just bleached the bottom part of my hair. i was really pretty excited about it. but my indecisive ass wants to bleach all my hair. so..

we did! haha! based on my smile, of course i loved it! but we colored it again and put very light ash blonde. because of the pandemic, everyone’s bored and obviously, doing your hair is one of the trending thing to do while just staying at home. i became so bored with the bleached hair because every girl you see has bleached hair. i dont want that :c also, we colored it so that the pink hair won’t turn out to be so bright. 

and finally! after waiting for almost 2 months, we finally achieved what we really want to my hair. ate mich just let the top of head to be ash blonde and left the bottom pink. i so so love the finished product and i’m so devastated that i’m already having roots :( also, we waited for almost  2 months to finally color it pink to avoid a lot of chemical to my hair. idk if it helped tho.

another life update, my boyfriend and i started to create a page and an instagram account for our babies! we are planning of opening our own business as dog breeder. idk if it sounds right to make it as a business to your guys, but the money we will be getting in this is clearly not for us but for our babies. we have 9 dogs. and yes, we are planning on adding more babies in the future. however, with 9 dogs, our salaries together cannot provide their daily, monthly and yearly expenses. my boyfriend has his own bills to pay and i too. also, my parents is actually working on some papers for their retirement and of course, we the pandemic, monthly pensions can take up some time to get. we will be helping out with the monthly expenses here in our house. i dont know why i bother to explain but im feel like i should so.. also, we will be making a kennel at our backyard to provide better home for our babies. due to our growing furfamily, being leashed or caged in a small place is hard and i don’t want that for them. 

moving on, sara and luna finally gave birth! sarah gave birth last june 15, 2020 with 6 adorable puppies; 4 females and 2 males. it was our first time handling a mommy to give birth, and it was exhausting and messy! she kept roaming around. also, fun fact, she gave birth in our room! hahahaha imagine the smell and all the blood everywhere. everyone was excited. when she finished, i cleaned the room for better home for the new born babies and for sara to finally rest. we also visited the vet because sara’s a big girl and we thought there was still a puppy left inside her. fortunately, she is now safe. 

the next day, bim, my mom and went grocery shopping and also both some stuff for sara and the babies. we were buying at mcdonalds for our snack when ate mich called bim and said luna’s gave birth to 2 puppies already! so my mom and bim left me because i was still waiting for our order. when i came home, my baby luna is at our comfort room, looking so exhausted and shocked of what is coming out of her! it’s her first time. at first, we thought she’ll just have 4 puppies because of size but damn ghorl! she wanted to show off that she can do it, too! 

we were honestly tired the whole time they gave birth. imagine! taking care of 12 puppies and 2 tired mommies. but it was all worth it. however, the worst part happened. we lost one of sara’s puppies. she clearly didn’t grew the moment she was born and didn’t fight when drinking her milk with her brothers and sisters. it was hard for me to see that a puppy died but to make it better, i just thought that its good that she didn’t experience this cruel world. 

also, one of luna’s puppies died. she was supposed to turn 1 month so everyone was trying to walk already. unfortunately, she got outside their cage and sara got her :( idk if she was aggressive upon seeing her because it happened when we were sleeping. but we thought that her body couldn’t take the force when sara held her. when i woke up i let them go out in our front yard and their i saw, the little pup, bathing in sara’s saliva. i was furious with sara and i really couldn’t help not to scold her. another puppy died and it was so devastating. 

anyhow, we needed to move on. 

latest update in our growing furfamily. another cat! his name is beau. it’s my first time to own a cat that is still a kitten and we never knew on how to know what’s the difference of a female and male kitten since their genitals isn’t mature yet. we thought he was a guy at first and then we saw that it’s being a girl genitals and when we went to the vet, she said he is a guy. which was okay because having a female cat is tiring. male cats outside our home keeps on making them pregnant. it’s annoyinggg.

I don’t know that there is a short summary of it all, to be honest. It’s been a long journey. Not the hardest though, truly, just a lot of trial and error as to what felt best. And what feels best often changes.

I’m not one that “always knew” or “always felt like I was in the wrong body.” There are a few memories from childhood that I look back on and can say, “oh yea, that was definitely a give away.”

The uncomfortable feelings that were always in my body, I just thought everyone dealt with. I didn’t realize that I was actually different until college. Looking back, I can feel and pinpoint the progression of it all, but in the moment, I had no clue.

It all started once I moved away to college (2013). My freshman year, I was 19 and “free” to start learning about the world in my own way. It was then that I realized and started to come to terms with just the fact that I liked women. I come from a conservative, Mennonite, private-school-from-kindergarten-to-graduation lifestyle so this was all brand new news to me. Around the same time, a friend came out as bi. I remember messaging her and how great it felt to know that someone had those same feelings. I asked her, “do you also have gender confusion?” and she said no. So I was back feeling like I was the only one that had is uneasiness inside.

At some point during my endless hours of depression scrolling, I found a guy on tumblr who was just like me. Finally. I found someone that shared those feelings. That felt that same burning in their chest. That’s when it all clicked. I finally realized where I was, wasn’t where I needed to be if I intended on living with any sort of quality of life.

I started talking about those feelings out loud. Tossing out the possibility of it all with very close friends. I really wasn’t ready to brave it to myself, in full, for a really long time. But one day I just kind of said that enough is enough and began thoroughly researching.

I bought a binder. I wore it. It worked for me. Next was social transitioning. Just trying out male pronouns, seeing how they felt. They were weird and terribly uncomfortable at the beginning. They’re sometimes still foreign, but I’ve grown used to them. I bought a packer at some point. Tried really hard to like it, but it didn’t work the best for me. To this day, I rarely feel the need or desire to pack. My haircuts got shorter and shorter. My clothing had always been mainly masculine, but there came a time that I cut out all feminine clothing because I couldn’t bare the sight of it. There was a necklace my sister bought me when I graduated high school. It was a silver heart that said “soar” with a dainty silver chain. I tucked it away in a box and that kind of felt like putting the old version of myself in the same box.

Nothing was too dramatic. I had some partners that crushed me over it in different ways which was threw in some set backs in it all. My family was really scary to deal with at first, but I eventually braved that as well.

Hormone therapy came fairly easy, much easier than most. Just because of my timing and the location and resources that I had. I was fortunate enough that insurance covered a breast reduction, which made life immensely better. It was still hard waking up after that surgery knowing I’d be wearing a binder daily for the next foreseeable future, but I was still so appreciative. The reduction made binding so much easier. Hormones started shifting my body into what felt more and more comfortable.

I won’t lie, I don’t deal with a great amount of dysphoria. However, I think that’s just because of how I choose to process my feelings. I’ve learned to just accept what I can’t change about my body, and try my hardest to work past or to better it. Or I just flat out ignore those feelings until they go away. Again, most people don’t process like I do, so that’s not always the case. I just knew what I had to do to become more comfortable within myself, and I did it.

It’s all kinda like that Bear Grylls meme “Adapt. Improvise. Overcome.” If something doesn’t work for you? Don’t do it. If it feels funny at first, it might feel better the second or third try. If nothing seems to be working, come at it from a new perspective.

There is still a lot of unease in my body. Related to different things. Social issues, physical issues, the usual stuff. I’ve been feeling that unease a lot lately, actually, which has been pretty annoying. I think it’s because my top surgery is so close that I haven’t yet processed those feelings. I’ve been uncomfortable these past few months, so I think it’s just a new phase of life that I’ll have to figure out how to work with, if that makes sense. But I know that this time next year, hell, it could even be in a few months, I’ll feel differently. My struggles will have changed. The things I’m fretting tonight might have dissolved and my brain will have started focusing on something else. I won’t necessarily be a different person, just another version of myself, I suppose.

Everyone’s story is different. Everyone’s transition is different. Everyone faces different struggles and fights different demons. But our common goal is to just feel at home. It’s what all us misfits want: to live without saying we’re sorry.

•    her family has never stayed in one place for very long, though her aging parents eventually settled into a permanent residence in the us around the time she turned sixteen, not soon enough for jade to break the habit of wandering, but thankfully quick enough for her to meet the bratz girls who were just as adventurous and fun - loving as she. she's spent much of her teen life jumping from place to place wherever her interests are that moment, collecting people along the way, but to find friends was the only thing she was missing. jade has a brilliant mind, but she lacks patience and follow through. she needs guidance or she'll jump from idea to idea, job to job, whim to whim.

•    ngl, jade pretty much hated her home life. her parents were an overbearing presence in her life, her mother wanting jade to be a proper lady who also went into a profession like theirs (entirely serious and stifling when it came to creativity, doctor, politician, lawyer etc.) while jade herself wanted to check out the latest trends and go to the mall w her friends – so she turned all of her focus and energy into getting good grades in everything she wanted to do in the hopes that she could be the most successful fashion designer, then leaving town forever. 

•    like she spent 7 yrs in high school graduating w honours but she barely knew what was happening in 9/10 of her classes and sometimes she just slept through classes and then wing her exams which she miraculously did well at. it was just not a good idea to send jade to a public school at 11 after being in boarding school for the rest of her life and then never really enforce any rules :~\ she has trouble with that kind of thing.. as in making logical choices instead of saying "YEAH lets go watch american psycho and smoke weed!" skipping chemistry to do just that 

•    she loves fun and values doing what makes her happy over most things. it's hard to pin her down and she spends most of her life chasing after ideas that don't really follow any sort of conscious order, bc she’s really got that ‘i’ve got dreams and i’m gonna do everything in my power to achieve them’ personality. 

•    according to bratz canon she’s worked as literally everything ? she’s one of those insufferable people who r just. good everything ig and that’s just how it is on this bitch of an earth. jade’s been a photographer, a song - writer and bass player in a rock band (shout out to bratz rock angelz the best movie w the best soundtrack ever), a student studying fashion design, a fashion columnist, a quickly fired nanny, and many other things in between. 

•    so when she appears in toonsville she’s kind of out of it that she’s not doing something w her skills and sets up her own business which she loves ? being her own boss suits her fine (for now) because she’s got a Real Job and she's actually trying rly hard so she can fulfill her dreams !! like suck it mom nd dad haha !!!

•    jade has a lot of weird feelings TM about her body and her looks and struggles a lot with her self confidence :~( she had a shit time at school with boys saying she was too thin and she compensated by acting like she didn't like anyone at all for a while and now she thinks she isn't good enough for anyone when rly she is a cinnamon bun too good for this world too pure

friends / best friends / ride or dies . jade genuinely loves people, loves talking to strangers and getting into intense conversations with people she’s only just met, learning other people’s way of life and bettering herself for getting. she is, however, incredibly blunt and has never once minced words to keep from hurting someone’s feelings or to ease them into a situation. she’d much rather have a one-time conversation with a stranger than make long lasting relationships. she has three very close friends –  to the point of co - dependence –  and honestly, she’d rather spend all of her time doing things she loves such as her hobbies, sticking her nose into the latest vogue, or searching for cute collars and treats for her cat mica w them instead of making new friends. she's also FUN and she'd be happy to go on crazy road trips or buy out a movie theater for a day or anything that she thinks will her buds happy. she's traveled all over, so she’s v well read and cultured. she loves people but she hates complication and won't deal with any sort of emotional labor. she wants to live in the moment and expects everyone in her life to do so as well. just be chill, y'all. 

frenemies / enemies /  rivals  . please be her enemy, she needs people to antagonize shdhshd. she grew up pretty much affluent so she’s pretty spoiled even if she doesn’t want to admit it, and that rebellious side of her hasn’t died down yet. despite the fact that she is wealthy and in good community standing, she has a hard time letting go of childish grudges. in general she’s got a lot of suppressed feelings and ready to fight everyone who hurts her friends – like an irritated cat – so, honestly, come at her ? she is sometimes a little fickle and flighty and a unintentionally stuck up when it comes to art / fashion and she has definitely said the wrong thing at the wrong time and pissed the wrong people off, she can’t stand anyone underestimating her or thinking she’s dumb bc she’s interested in fashion. like gtfo !

ex’s , fwb’s , possible love interests .  jade is fairly fluid romantically and is the type of person who hates labels but also just wants to be cherished and called cute pet names lowkey. she loves a lot and gives a lot to her relationships, but typically doesn't want to commit to anything important. she’s gone from one disastrous relationship to another, ending up with a boyfriend who constantly ridiculed her image that was essentially the catalyst for her cutting off romantic ties, quite a recent wound before she found herself on the island actually. worst thing is tht she’s convinced herself that she’s been the problem in these relationships –  that she turns good people bad or that she is too much for people to deal with, she’s not sure what the issue is and she doesn’t really want to know. so…. fuck everything amirite ? anyway, she’s a strong independent woman who don’t need no (wo)man.
