Jessie, once more, very much doubted that the problem was with the other people in this scenario. She was hardly a lovely type, and perhaps there was - despite all her efforts and her charm and her style and her acting - some tiny part of those humans that detected danger. As if there were a prickle on the backs of their necks, the strange sense that something was out there in the dark, the kind that put them on alert.

Or perhaps she was just overthinking, perhaps there were just still far too many people who did not know what to do with a woman who knew her own heart and mind.

"Much appreciated," Jessie almost found herself going to tip her hat to the woman, such was the prim and proper way she presented herself. "I'm sure we'll be seeing each other around soon enough."

With that, Jessie retreated a pace from the garden fence, and nodded another farewell. She would just have to keep half an eye on this little trio of vampires, from now on. Just to be sure.

Ilya has learned much during her stay in Flavenport, under the tutelage and care of the motherly Saint Annabelle. After her new friend Lucia vocally ponders returning to the highlands, the black dragon’s servant sees an opportunity to bring both of her missions to a close.
