#😭 i've been absent from every venue in my life for some time because#work killed my capacity to interact with anything fun#i know i owe several people responses + i will try to get to them when i'm feeling better#due to [redacted] there are like 3 different initiatives i'm working on simultaneously at work and overlapping deadlines#it is too much to explain in one post but i've been like sleeping at 1am working unpaid overtime and waking up at like 6am to work.#haven't touched anything creative because i can feel my energy flagging and i just don't want another reason to#be faced with my own inadequacy... haven't talked to friends because i can't muster up the energy to properly commit to something that isn'#work... anyways i finally asked some of the really experienced members on my team for help and we worked together on#this one problem for like 5 hours straight#only for them to deem that the task was literally impossible T.T (ofc we took certain steps to remediate)#but one of my team members spoke highly of me for my efforts and like because of that acknowledgment#something inside me loosened for the first time in awhile.#i don't want to talk too much about the other sources of my stress because it's probably the least interesting subject ever#but it is scary for me to find that i can't derive joy from the things that used to fulfill me (art/friendships/etc)#because it feels like giving up in a way. like a fundamental part of myself as i've defined myself is totally inaccessible#but also in times like this it feels like i cannot stomach being the person i want to be#tonight i wandered onto twt for the first time in awhile and found this iv//nt//ll fan animatic based off of this vo//cal//oid song i#had on repeat like 10 years ago. which sounds silly (and it is)#but it made me excited in a way i haven't been for awhile. like holy crap this is cool this is a song i love (and maybe i do have the#capacity to love things still?) something about it just made me want to cry#how i missed this feeling... the simple childish feeling of i love this art and it's fucking awesome#i can't say that everything has been fixed because it is not but i really missed this

Just a though rmb that time u made hae-in and Jinwoo fight for y/n? I just rmbered it randomly and I propose:
Hs Jinwoo and Hae-in both regressing and they're pining for Y/N who used to be a mage/healer/support for them.
Ur local hottest boy in school + The it girl and Track Running champion of another school fighting for y/n's hand
this has been living rent free in my head to the point ive unconsciously drawn it LMAO so art down below if u scrolllll
okay but this concept with an extremely mundane [name]?? hello especially someone who's just trying to get past school with average grades and average effort then maybe with a few volunteering here and there where it's coincidentally being the assistant for the coah in the track and field team.
[name] being known for helping a few people and having an affinity when it comes to patching up people and helping them so volunteer work is just light work for them so they didn't mind as much when the things they do during their time in the track and field team is tossing water to the runners and sometimes fixing them up if they trip or break an ankle. being part of the red cross club last year really helps in these situations.
then [name] meets jinwoo who's the new member in the team and someone who just suddenly transferred to the school, saying it was about his father getting a promotion and they needed to move places.
[name] believes this because everyone has their own situations but it was in fact jinwoo finally finding out what school [name] was in after a few years of trying to search for them then he transferred school, not caring if it's the middle of the school year. of course [name] doesn't know this.
then those two gets closer and jinwoo tries to charm [name] with silly jokes and impressive stamina and speed whenever he's on the field, leaving [name] awe struck. it was obvious to everybody else that the new extremely handsome hotshot of the track and field team had a little thing for the stupidly mundane volunteer who only took the job because they needed something for their community service hours.
just as about this man was gonna ask [name] out the coach of the track and field team announces that now on during after class practices another student from a different school will be attending their training program and blow and behold it's fucking cha hae-in much to jinwoo's dismasy.
hae-in isn't much experienced with this whole regression thing so she's less prepared compared to jinwoo but her persistence and determination just to see her sweet little [name] again what helped her pulled through and landed her here.
hae-in took the program through some connections and begging to her coach to let her train under a different school, claiming it will help her grow and the coach believed her because how can you deny your favourite athlete that's stupidily amazing in the sport? anyway hae-in successfully got into [name]'s school without moving in even if it's not the whole day, seeing [name] was more than enough for her.
that is until she saw her number one rival at the corner, hae-in compares him to a cockroach with how he can't leave her sigh and his sense of fashion that's constantly dark themed. she's low-key pissed that he's here, like just leave her alone and her cutie [name] that's not for him.
[name] spends more time with the two, now hae-in is in the picture. they would help hae-in whenever she would get a sprain and give her tips on what to do to alleviate the pain and get better asap before the regionals or take her out to hang out because it was easier being the same gender. jinwoo is fuminggg at this because it took him like months to do that and for hae-in it took like a measly few weeks?? that's so unfair
suddenly the two get into little competitions with eachother trying to impress [name] and of course they noticed but they don't believe that the two most sought after players in the school or even the region would have a thing for them, they're just good friends.
that drives them insane but it's okay one of them will make you realize it's more than that!! it's just a matter of time and effort you'll be in their arms.
btw imagine after school going out with the two and you guys eat at some street vendor spot then they argue who could pay. they get so distracted with arguing you just pay for yourself as you watch with the street vendor the two fighting.

Can't Keep a Secret
Word count: 4300
Warnings: tickling, fluff, reader with an inability to keep secrets, reader with a crush on a certain god of mischief
I'm so excited for 100 followers!! I didn't expect so many people to actually be interested in my writing when I started posting 🥰
This one is based on @atlas-of-the-universe's request here for a fic where Loki tickles the reader to get information of some kind 😉 I hope this is what you were looking for!
This one also has a little more crushing/romantic fluff than some of my other fics at the end, so if you're not into that just skip that part. As always, completely SFW!
* * *
No one ever seemed to do anything nice for Loki. So, when Thor approached you to ask if you’d help him and the others plan a surprise birthday party for his brother, you wholeheartedly agreed to assist. As the Avengers’ best party planner, you jumped at the chance to start brainstorming ideas to make this party the best Loki had ever experienced – including on Asgard. And, if it meant he’d pay a little extra attention to you, well… that was an added bonus.
The only problem was – you were terrible at keeping secrets.
It wasn’t as if you went around spilling the details when someone asked you not to tell the others about something. You knew enough not to just blurt out the fact that you were planning a party. Unfortunately, though, you had a tendency to let your feelings show in your facial expressions. Trying to keep secrets made you anxious, knowing you’d been the one to accidentally say just a little bit too much in the past and ruined other surprises.
The fact that you were the worst secret keeper was no… secret, for lack of a better word. Your teammates frequently exploited this fact when they wanted to know what you were hiding from them. Tony, especially, loved to talk circles around you until he could get you to trip up and give some detail away. On the other hand, they also tried not to let you in on too many details when they were planning a surprise for one of the other team members.
This time, you were determined not to give anything away. You were thrilled that the team was finally going to do something special for Loki, and you were NOT going to ruin it by spilling the beans to the trickster. Thor was probably one of the more trusting members of the Avengers, and he assured you when he asked you to help with the party that he had faith you wouldn’t screw up (quite literally in those words).
You started researching online to get some ideas. This party had to live up to the standards of an Asgardian prince, so you couldn’t just order a few pizzas and beer and call it a party. Plus, Tony had offered to pay for the whole thing (you suspected he felt guilty for having accidentally blasted Loki through a wall in the training room with his new Ironman suit the week prior) so your funds were basically limitless.
Inevitably, though, you were bound to run into situations where you had to spend time with the raven-haired god without allowing yourself to let any details slip.
The moment Loki first started to suspect you were hiding something was when he walked in on a conversation you were having with Thor in the kitchen. You had been asking him about the Asgardian mead his brother loved so much and wanted to know if he could manage to get some here on Midgard for the party.
“What is it about the Asgardian mead that you like so much better than standard alcohol?” you inquired curiously.
“Ha! That is a very funny question, Lady Y/N,” Thor laughed heartily. “As if any Midgardian liquor could so much as hold a candle to the spirits we drink on Asgard.”
“Hey! I enjoy my tequila! Margaritas are arguably a delicious alcoholic beverage,” you bantered.
“You truly believe this ‘margarita’ as you call it could compare to the smooth, sophisticated taste of an Asgardian mead?” Thor countered.
“I must agree with my brother on this one – I have seen this ‘margarita’ drink you speak of, and it is highly unlikely to be superior to Asgardian spirits.”
You gasped involuntarily when you heard Loki’s voice in the doorway, spinning around to face him with a look of bewilderment on your face. He cocked his head to the side, raising an eyebrow as he scrutinized your expression.
“Oh, hey Loki! Didn’t see you there,” you greeted, trying to lean casually against the counter you were standing beside.
“Yes… it appears you didn’t. You look as if you’ve seen a ghost.” Loki folded his arms across his chest, eyeing you intently. “What was it that brought you to the subject of Asgardian liquor?”
“Oh, that? Well…”
“I was just informing Lady Y/N that I have been feeling a bit nostalgic thinking about the celebrations we had on Asgard, when we would drink heartily with Lady Sif and the Warriors Three,” Thor cut in, quickly interrupting you mid-sentence. “Brother, you must recall the time you had a bit too much while drinking with us and…”
“I believe that’s quite enough nostalgia for one evening, dear brother,” Loki cut in, appearing almost frantic as he glanced quickly at you before turning back to glare at the elder Asgardian. “Stark asked me to inform you he requires your assistance in the laboratory. You’ll need to continue this conversation another time.”
“Ah, yes, alright then. Another time,” Thor agreed, winking at you before he exited the kitchen. Loki followed close behind, but not before giving you one last calculating glance before he crossed through the doorway and out of sight. You let out a breath of relief, hoping he hadn’t thought much of the conversation.
You noticed, though, that Loki started conveniently popping up around you more often after that incident. Maybe he didn’t want Thor to have the opportunity to tell you about whatever embarrassing story had occurred when they were younger, you thought. Regardless, it meant that you had to be extremely cautious about doing any planning for the party in any of the common areas.
The second time you nearly let something slip was during a hushed conversation in the training room with Peter after one of your sparring matches. He had pulled you aside after training to ask your opinion about whether he should ask his friend MJ to attend the party with him. He’d had a crush on the girl for quite some time, and now that she knew his secret identity he thought it might be time to introduce her to his Avengers family.
“I’m nervous she might not want to come, but I think it would be a great chance for her to meet everyone when the focus would be on someone else,” he explained. You hiked your backpack up onto your shoulder with your training gear and made your way toward the door to the training room with Peter by your side.
“Why wouldn’t she want to come? From what you’ve told me, she seems to be more of a social butterfly than you are, even,” you asked.
“Yeah… you’re right, I’m probably overthinking this, aren’t I?” he chuckled. “I just don’t want to screw things up!”
“What are you screwing up this time, spiderling?”
You stopped short as you heard Loki’s voice from behind you, making your heart leap into your throat. You turned around, trying not to look startled.
“Oh, Peter wants his friend MJ to attend… a training session with us!” you fibbed, trying to think quickly. “You know, so he can show her his Spider-Man moves!”
“Yeah! That’s right,” Peter agreed, nodding vigorously. “I’m going to go call her right now, thanks Y/N!” Peter scurried off down the hallway, leaving you standing with a somewhat skeptical looking god of mischief.
“Why was Peter asking you about inviting a friend to his training? Would he not have asked Stark?” Loki inquired. You shrugged in a non-committal way.
“Who knows? Anyway, uh, it was nice talking to you, but I’ve got to get going… big assignment to finish up tonight, can’t really stop and chat. See you later!” you blurted, not waiting for a response as you hurried toward your room. Phew, that was close, you thought to yourself, hoping he hadn’t been standing behind you for too long.
Later that week, you found yourself alone in the common room while watching television. You pulled out your laptop during one of the commercials and started searching the internet for caterers, hoping to find something fancy enough to appeal to an Asgardian god. You had thought that everyone else was out for the day, so you weren’t overly concerned about anyone seeing what you were doing.
“What mindless reality television show are you watching today?” The smooth, baritone voice caused you to jerk your head up from your laptop screen and instinctively slam it shut. He hadn’t even been standing behind you to see what you were searching – it was purely on reflex that you closed the computer. Loki raised his eyebrows at you. “I see you aren’t really watching anything, are you? What is it you were viewing on your computer?”
“Nothing! I mean, nothing exciting, really. Just some old photos that I was trying to sort through,” you stammered, standing up with the laptop clutched to your chest. “You can have the TV if you want, though. I have to go… work on that assignment some more. I was just taking a break. It’s almost done!” Loki opened his mouth as if to say something, but you didn’t wait around to let him ask any more questions that might make you give away something you shouldn’t. You spent the rest of the evening in your room, avoiding the trickster at all costs.
The next morning, after getting ready for the day, you grabbed some breakfast before heading back to your room to continue to do some additional party planning research where Loki wouldn’t walk in on you unexpectedly. You shoved the last bite of one of Thor’s pop-tarts that you’d stolen into your mouth as you approached your door, opening it and walking toward your desk where your laptop sat. You always left the door slightly ajar when you were in your room, and so you were quite surprised when you heard the door thump shut behind you, the lock clicking into place.
“You’ve been hiding something from me.”
You stopped dead in your tracks, your heart pounding in your chest. You turned around slowly, staring wide-eyed at the god of mischief now standing in your bedroom between you and your only exit. His hands were clasped behind his back, his blue-green eyes gleaming ominously as he stared you down.
“Oh, hey Loki! What brings you to my room?” you asked, trying to sound casual.
“Let’s end this little charade, hmm?” He took a few slow paces forward into the room, closing the distance between the two of you. “It’s become clear to me over the last week that you have knowledge of some information that you do not want me to become aware of. I’d like you to tell me what it is.” His tone was calm; low, but dangerous. You swallowed hard.
“Loki, I-I’m not sure what you mean. I don’t have any secrets.” You took a step back from the advancing Asgardian, your back meeting the cold, hard wood of your desk behind you.
“We can do this the easy way or the hard way. The choice is up to you,” he threatened, stepping even closer so he was only a foot away from where you stood trapped against your desk. “Tell me what it is you’re hiding, or I will… coerce you into talking.”
“Coerce me? Heh, what’s that supposed to mean?” you asked nervously, your hands gripping the desk behind you.
“I have my ways. I am the god of mischief, after all.” Loki stood in front of you unmoving, a barrier holding you hostage against your desk.
“Even if I did have something to hide, you wouldn’t hurt me. Your brother would kill you,” you warned.
“I never suggested I would hurt you, darling. I would never do such a thing.” He took the slightest step closer. “You seem tense. Am I making you nervous?”
“Very.”
“Good.” A smirk tugged at the corners of his lips. “Have you decided, then? Will we be doing this the easy way or the hard way?”
“I told you, I have nothing to hide,” you insisted.
“Very well then. We’ll do this the hard way.” Quickly, you darted around Loki toward the door, trying to make your escape. He was faster, though, catching you with an arm around your waist and dragging you back so your back was against his chest. “Tell me, darling…” he growled in your ear, making you shiver, “… are you… ticklish?”
“Wha-“ you opened your mouth to protest but stopped speaking as you felt gentle scratching on your side. You shook your head quickly, suppressing the giggles that were threatening to rise out of your throat. If you stood still long enough, maybe he would give up.
“Do you think you’re fooling me by not allowing yourself to laugh? I felt you tense up immediately the moment I touched you.” He tightened his grip, wrapping both arms around your waist and digging his fingers into your sides. You snorted at the sudden sensation, doubling over to try to fight your way out of his grasp. “As I suspected. You are extraordinarily ticklish.”
“S-shut up, Loki!” you demanded, your muscles relaxing as his fingers stilled against your sides. He released you, allowing you to turn and face him but still standing in between you and the door.
“Now then – are you going to tell me what it is you’re hiding? Or do I need to tickle you until you are begging for mercy?”
You felt your face flush with heat. You’d been tickled before, certainly, but only for a few seconds at a time, and never as a means to pry information from you. Truthfully, though, you were enjoying this playful side of Loki. You were also determined not to tell him about the party – it would be so much more fun if it were a surprise, and he deserved to have fun. You braced yourself, folding your arms defiantly across your chest.
“There’s nothing to tell.”
Before you could react, Loki had tackled you, and you found yourself flat on the floor with your wrists pinned over your head. Your heart hammered against your ribcage as the dark-haired Asgardian loomed over you, his smirk growing wider.
“I see you’ve made your choice, then. But I should warn you – I don’t do mercy.” The fingertips of his free hand connected with your belly, lightly tracing the soft skin through your shirt. You turned your head so you wouldn’t have to look at him, his knowing stare making it more difficult to prevent yourself from laughing. Slowly, he applied more pressure until he was clawing at your belly with all five fingers, varying between the center and sides and analyzing your expression to evaluate your response.
“I-I’m telling y-you, t-there’s nothing to t-tell,” you insisted, jolting a little each time his fingers found a particularly sensitive spot.
“Unfortunately, I don’t believe you.” He shifted his attack to your side, his fingers spidering gradually up your ribcage. Your nerves were alight with ticklish shocks, helpless giggles now bubbling out of your chest.
“W-whyhyhy don’t you believe mehehe?” you asked, your tone starting to sound more desperate.
“You’re not exactly subtle. It’s rather obvious when you’re trying to keep a secret.” Loki was now scratching in between your upper ribs, and your giggles were evolving into desperate laughter. “I see this is becoming more challenging for you. I wonder – should I try to identify all of your weak spots? Surely one of them will get you talking.”
“NOHOHO LOKI!” you pleaded, thrashing to try to free your wrists from his grasp.
“You’ll need to provide me some information, then. What was it you were really discussing with my brother the other night?”
“HE TOHOHOLD YOU!!” You shrieked as Loki’s fingers found purchase under one of your arms, your feet pounding against the floor in desperation.
“Honestly, Y/N, I didn’t believe a word either of you said.” His fingertips grazed the underside of your upper arm, tracing from your elbow down to your underarm and back up again. You hadn’t realized how ticklish the soft skin of your arm could be, but his maddeningly light touch had you writhing to try to evade his fingers.
“STAHAHAP THAT!” you begged, yanking at your restrained wrists to try to lower your arms. Even before you were in this weakened state, the god of mischief was stronger than you.
“Then talk.”
“NEVER!”
“Aha!” he exclaimed suddenly, lifting his fingers away from your arm. You sucked in air desperately, letting out the residual giggles as he allowed you a moment to recover. “You ARE hiding something! You’ve given yourself away.”
“I… but… no I didn’t!” you pouted. He chuckled, a genuine grin spreading across his face at your adorable, disappointed frown.
“It’s too late now. You may as well tell me your secret.”
“I won’t tell! I’ll never tell!” you barked, a sudden surge of bravery rushing through you.
“I’m afraid I must continue, then,” he stated, feigning pity. “Why don’t you tell me where else you are ticklish instead?”
“What? No! I won’t tell you that either!”
“Fine. It’s much more amusing for me to locate your weak spots myself anyway.” Loki released your wrists and in the same motion reached behind him to squeeze above your knees with both hands. You yelped at the unexpected touch, trying with difficulty to sit up now that your arms were free. You reached toward Loki’s sides to try to retaliate but he was too perceptive, grabbing a wrist in each hand using his cat-like reflexes. “You don’t want to do that, darling,” he warned.
“Oh, but I think I do,” you argued, trying your hardest to break free of his grip. He wrestled with you for a moment, successfully forcing you onto your stomach so you could no longer sit up and try to counterattack.
“Now then – where were we?” he huffed as he sat himself down on the back of your legs, pinning you in place. You lifted your upper body up onto your elbows and turned to look at him, keeping a close eye on his hands. “Ah, that’s right. You were about to tell me what you were discussing with the spiderling the other day.”
“No I was-“ your retort died in your mouth as Loki’s fingertips touched down on the backs of your knees. “L-Loki, hold on, don’t you even think about it.”
“Why? Too sensitive?” he teased, tracing one finger along the tendon in the back of your knee. You let out a squeal, only egging him on as he began to flutter his fingers against the thin skin there.
“LOKI I WILL KIHIHILL YOHOHOU!”
“You hardly sound threatening when you’re giggling like a child,” he taunted, tracing along the skin on the inner sides of your knees. You reached back desperately with one hand while holding yourself up with the other elbow, trying to grab hold of his tickling fingers. He snickered at your feeble attempts, reaching up quickly to slide his fingers under your arm so your elbow would buckle beneath your torso before returning his attention to your knees. “This could all stop if you’d just tell me what your secret is.”
At this point, you’d come to the embarrassing realization that you were actually having fun, despite your abdominal muscles aching from laughing so hard. You were also still determined to keep the party a secret, if not for you then for Loki’s own good. You picked yourself back up onto your elbows so you could turn and look back at him defiantly.
“No!” you declared.
“No? I see I must not be trying hard enough, then. Let’s try somewhere else, shall we?” Loki shifted his weight so he could pin your legs down with his shin, his gaze turning down toward your socked feet.
“Don’t… you… dare!” you warned, noticing where his line of sight was directed. He placed his fingertips teasingly against the soles of your feet, maintaining eye contact with you, eyes glowing with mischief.
“I’ll give you one final chance. Spill,” he ordered. You merely smirked back at him.
“Make me.”
Without another word, Loki sprang back into action, his torturous fingertips skimming along the soles of your feet. Frantic giggles spilled from your lips as you tried jerking your feet away from his touch without success.
“I’d wager you’re regretting what you said now, aren’t you?” he goaded, scratching under your toes with one finger on each foot. Your giggles pitched up as you curled your toes to prevent him from reaching the sensitive skin. “Are you prepared to talk now?”
“NEHEHEVER!!” you screeched, still determined to win. Eventually he’d get tired of this and give up, right?
“Then I’m afraid you leave me no choice.” You practically screamed in ticklish agony as his fingers once again connected with your ribs, darting rapidly up and down your sides and under your arms, scribbling into the small of your back, fluttering against the sides of your neck and behind your ears, never staying in one place long enough to grow accustomed to the sensation. Your laughter fell silent as you tapped your hand hard on the floor, signaling you were giving up. Seeing your signal, Loki’s fingers stilled against you, still pressed gently into your sides as a warning that he could start right back up again at any moment. “Talk.”
“I will… alright… just… just give me a sec,” you huffed, your chest heaving with exertion. Your mind was racing, trying to come up with a plausible lie that would satisfy the god of lies. Your heart sank as you realized you couldn’t possibly come up with something in the next ten seconds that would fool him. It had to be the truth. “I’ll tell you, but you have to swear to me you won’t tell your brother that I told you.”
“That depends on what it is you’re about to tell me,” Loki bantered.
“No, I’m serious!” Loki shifted so his weight was no longer pressed on your legs, and you turned over into a seated position on the floor. “Promise me you won’t tell.”
“Fine. I promise. Now tell me.” You took a deep breath.
“We’re planning a party. For you. It was supposed to be a surprise.”
Loki was silent for a moment, his expression unreadable. His blue-green eyes searched yours as if trying to find any hint of a lie in your face. His face softened a bit as he began to realize you were actually telling the truth.
“What for?” he asked, his tone flat.
“For your birthday.”
“We don’t celebrate birthdays on Asgard, we have far too many of them to be excited for them.”
“Ugh, Loki, don’t you get it? Thor wanted to do something nice for you! I wanted to do something nice for you!” You held his gaze, trying to prove to him you still weren’t lying.
“You wanted to do something for me?” His voice was low, but there was something different about his tone; something you hadn’t heard before. Hope? Excitement? You averted your gaze down to the floor, poking at the fibers in the carpet with your finger.
“Yeah, I did. You deserve something nice. You’ve come a long way since New York. And you’re… a good friend.” You felt heat rush to your face. You’d nearly revealed another secret, one you had no intention of telling him today. Or ever. Unfortunately, Loki was perceptive.
“That sounded like another lie, Y/N,” he stated ominously. You risked a glance up at him, seeing a smirk slowly spreading across his face.
“What?! No, it’s not!” you argued, the warmth in your face spreading to your ears.
“Haven’t you learned not to lie to me by now?” Loki suddenly grabbed hold of your waist, dragging you closer to him. “Or do I need to repeat the lesson?” His fingers latched onto your ribcage, squeezing and kneading with maddening precision. Still exhausted from the previous attack, you immediately caved.
“ALRIGHT, ALRIGHT! I like you, ok??” Loki stopped tickling you, not yet releasing you from his grasp. You covered your flushed face with your hands. “Happy now?”
Loki pried your hands gently away from your face, tilting your chin up with his finger. His eyes were softer than you’d ever seen them before as he gazed at you, a small smile on his face. With a surge of confidence, you closed the gap between your faces, pressing your lips to his. He kissed you back, gently but passionately all at once. When he finally pulled away, he grinned at you.
“Yes, I am happy,” he said simply. You smiled shyly back at him.
“Good.” You hardened your expression a bit, although admittedly it was hard to wipe the smile off your face. “You still have to act surprised. I can’t have people thinking I can’t keep a secret.” Loki laughed at that, his voice rumbling in his chest.
“But you can’t, darling.” He gave you one last poke in the side, eliciting a whine from you. “I’ll do my best to act surprised. I am the god of lies, after all. I should be able to put on a convincing display.”
“Good.” You allowed him to help you to your feet before shooing him out the door. “Now, get out of my room. I still have planning to do.”
“Alright, alright,” he chuckled, stopping in the doorway to look at you. “I’ll go, but only if you’ll have dinner with me tonight.”
“Only if you don’t tickle me,” you countered.
“Sorry, love, but I can’t make any promises,” he replied, winking. You sighed, smiling at him.
“I guess I’ll take my chances then.”

Normal (Spencer Reid x BAU!Fem!Reader) -- oneshot
I know this is def not my normal content because y’all know I’m a huge Hotch girl, but sometimes I slip back into being a Reid girl. It’s hard not to! I see a lot of myself in him and it led me to write this, so enjoy this (very real, actually) glimpse inside my head in the form of a fluffy Reid story xx.
I listened to “Normal” by AJR a lot while I wrote this!
Summary: Spencer has recently returned to the BAU after a short period of leave, and he comes back to find you, an agent-in-training filling his Resident Genius shoes. He admires you for who you are. You think he hates you. He tries to convince you otherwise.
DR. SPENCER REID MASTERLIST
Tumblr media
At first, you thought it was because of the way you read books.
You’ll never forget the first day you met the infamous Dr. Spencer Reid. He had returned from leave for his injured knee (he was shot, you were told) and this was apparently the second time he had attempted to step foot in the office. The first time didn’t go over well when Hotch found Spencer’s file that said his doctor did not clear him for work yet.
Regardless, you were sitting in your desk chair, legs crossed underneath you, “like a human pretzel,” Morgan always teases. You were reading a book, one of your favorites, to pass the time when Spencer walked in.
You knew it instantly because Morgan’s loud and affectionate, “Pretty. Boy!” could be heard all over the BAU.
You didn’t get up from your chair or stop reading -- besides the brief moment when you looked up to see what the commotion was about.
You still remember your internal monologue. Should I get up and hug him like Morgan? No, no, I don’t know him that well. I don’t want to hug anyone today, anyway. Shake his hand? You remember your hand tensing at the mere thought. Okay, not that either. I could wave, but I can’t tell if I even need to. I’ll just keep reading.
You had heard of Spencer before this. Hotch made it abundantly clear to you and the team that you were not replacing Spencer when you joined. You aren’t even officially a member of the BAU yet. You’re on a bit of a trial run, so to speak. That’s how Hotch explained it.
Yes, you were and still are well aware that the timing looks awful. An agent who is vital and loved in the BAU is shot and out of work right as a new, younger, and less experienced but surprisingly intelligent agent steps in for a “trial run” (which no one ever does).
To anyone else, it obviously looks like you were sent here to replace Dr. Reid under the disguise of a short “trial run.”
But that isn’t the case at all.
You thought Spencer didn’t like you because of the way you read books. You immerse yourself in them. You use a pencil to track what line you’re on, so nearly every page has a vertical, light gray line in the margin where the tip of your pencil lead barely grazed the page. You underline keywords and phrases. You draw arrows. You write commentary in the margins.
You thought that was what annoyed him until you saw him highlighting a book and writing in the margins, too. He doesn’t even necessarily need to, especially since he can read so damn fast and remember everything.
That’s also what you suspected -- that he didn’t like you because you could read almost as fast as him.
Keyword here: almost.
You can scan a page and spit the information back out in layman’s terms, sure. But you won’t remember what you read in great detail the next day, sometimes even the next hour -- especially when you were sort of filling the Resident Genius shoes and you’d have to read through stacks of evidence every hour.
You had thought your speed was just another thing Spencer didn’t like because it was just one more thing pointing to the conclusion that you were hired to replace him.
But he doesn’t care. You gladly let him read the evidence and memorize it, but you’ll help him out sometimes by scanning something first to see if it might have what he’s looking for. If it might, then he goes through and catches the fine details.
He’s never once acted as he hates you -- even though you’ve had “friends” who hated your guts and you had no idea (true story: high school is brutal and you were always shocked when your childhood best friend told you how “fake” others were acting toward you). But you’ve tried to look for specific signs, and he shows none of them.
You’re grasping at straws at this point. You’re on a profiling team and you had to Google how to tell if someone hates you. It’s pathetic, truly.
He doesn’t avoid you -- but he also is a really private person like you who likes his time alone.
He doesn’t drop a conversation with you after it’s been started -- but he also rambles so much anyway that you don’t know if he himself is capable of dropping a conversation abruptly.
He doesn’t avoid eye contact with you -- but even that one is tricky because you’re still working on it yourself, and you definitely have some days where you avoid eye contact. Sometimes you can hold it too well, though, and you always wonder if that’s rude.
Going through the rest of the signs that you found on Google goes exactly like that. He hasn’t done it, but then again… There’s always a catch.
It’s exhausting.
It’s a straight week of this before you finally cave and go to the one person you know you can always trust.
“Morgan, does Reid hate me?”
Derek stops stirring his coffee and tilts his head, furrowing his eyebrows at you. “What?” He goes back to stirring before tossing the stick in the trash. “Kiddo, why would he hate you?”
You misread this, too, and think Derek is confirming that Reid has hated you all along. “I don’t know. Why would he? What did I do?”
Morgan pauses, staring at you for a second before he realizes. “Ah, alright. It’s not clicking?”
You and Morgan have this phrase for when things completely fly over your head. “It’s not clicking?” is all he has to ask and all you have to do is nod, and he explains things to you.
So, you nod.
“Okay, listen, he does not hate you,” Morgan says. “I mean that. He’s been struggling to get settled after being out, but he doesn’t hate you. He’s far from hating you.”
“What do you mean?”
“Just, trust me. He doesn’t hate you.”
“Okay,” you say slowly. You do trust Morgan, but somehow his words don’t ease your mind this time. “Should I talk to him about it? Or is that overstepping?” You pause. “I don’t wanna be annoying.”
“Kiddo, you’re never annoying,” Morgan smiles, raising his coffee at you. “I’m serious. And sure, if you think talking to him about it will help, go for it.”
“Okay… How do I ask him?”
Morgan shrugs. “Say you’ve felt like there’s been underlying tension and you want to clear the air.”
“Underlying tension and I want to clear the air. Got it,” you chant to yourself. “Thanks, Morgan!”
“Anytime, kiddo.”
Fast forward an hour or two and you finally have enough courage worked up to confront Spencer. The first hour was spent rehearsing what you plan to say and the second was spent rehearsing what you might be asked and what you can say. And finally, you were ready to walk around the set of cubicles to get to Spencer’s.
Spencer looks up when he sees you walking over and he raises his eyebrows. “Oh, Y/N, I just found this really good book about the strategies of--”
“I’ve felt like there’s been a lot of underlying tension between you and me and I wanna clear the air,” you blurt.
Spencer pauses, eyebrows furrowed. “What?”
“Are you mad at me?” You try again.
“Why would I be mad at you?”
“Do you hate me?”
“What? No!” Spencer sets his book down on his desk. “Of course I don’t hate you.”
“Oh...okay,” you nod slowly. “That’s...that’s all then.”
As you’re turning around to go back to your, Spencer stands. “Wait, Y/N.”
You raise your eyebrows in question. “Oh, right,” you chuckle nervously. “What book did you want to tell me about?”
“Oh,” Spencer looks down at his desk, then shakes his head. “I’ll tell you that later, I wanted to ask first if...if you wanted to get dinner later? There’s a reading downtown for this new poet and I thought you’d like to go.”
“Oh,” you nod. “Yes, I was actually already going, but yeah. We can get dinner.” You mentally rearrange things in your schedule as you speak.
“Okay,” he smiles softly. “Oh, the book. Here, you can--” He pauses and grabs a chair, rolling it over for you.
Derek watches from his desk as the two of you sit down and Reid starts rambling.
+++
You and Spencer leave straight from the BAU to get dinner before the reading.
One thing you’re grateful for that comes with spending time with Spencer is that you never have to worry about conversation. He carries it and if there’s ever a silence, he fills it. Or, like tonight, the two of you enjoy a mutual silence.
You opted for a table outside on the patio because the dinner rush was crowding the restaurant indoors, and it made the lights seem a little too bright. You could feel a headache coming on when Spencer asked if the two of you could sit outside.
It’s a little chilly outside, so you guys are alone, but you’re both always bundled up, so you aren’t cold. Spencer is always in some form of layers and a scarf, and you are, too. Minus the scarf, though, because some days it doesn’t feel right on your neck (and lately it doesn’t). But you’re always in a sweater and a cardigan.
Winter is your favorite season because of this. You can wear as many layers as you need and not suffer from a heatstroke.
After a quiet dinner (that you actually kind of needed, though you didn’t realize it at first), the two of you walk down the street to the small bookstore where the poetry reading is taking place.
“So, you said you were already coming,” Spencer begins.
“Hm?”
“To the poetry reading,” he clarifies.
“Oh, right,” you chuckle. “Sorry.”
“It’s okay,” he says, unfazed. “Do you read a lot of poetry?”
“Yeah,” you nod. “I’ve always loved it, I think. I write some, too, but I don’t know how good it is. Probably not very since I’m in the FBI.”
Spencer laughs softly. “I’m sure that’s not true.”
“Do you write poetry?” You ask.
He shakes his head. “Not often, but sometimes.”
“That’s cool.”
“Yeah,” he says. “I like it. Not enough to do it for a living, of course. Actually, I almost got a Masters in Poetry a few years ago.”
“That’s crazy.”
“I can’t imagine being a poet,” he says, slowing his steps as you reach the bookstore. “But I guess that’s why I’m not one.”
You’re not sure what else to say, so you stay quiet while he opens the door for you, gesturing for you to go inside.
Bookstores are your forever safe haven. The quiet stacks, the mutual agreement between everyone inside not to speak to anyone else unless it’s dire. Not to mention, being surrounded by words.
Even events like these are small. Every event you’ve been to, you’ve been one of maybe twenty people attending. It’s your Heaven. It’s the kind of social interaction you’re somewhat good at.
Spencer is surprised when you willingly sit in the front. He would’ve expected you to sit at the back, in the middle row, even, but not the front center. He doesn’t question it, though. He just quietly sits next to you.
You pull the poet’s book out of your bag and it’s a well-worn copy. You flip through the pages and Spencer catches glimpses of underlined words, commentary, everything that lets him know this must be your favorite.
“Do you um…” Spencer pauses, waiting until you tilt your head, showing your attention. “Do you come to readings here often?”
“Every month,” you nod. “It’s a weird routine I’ve had ever since I moved here. I went to readings almost every week in college, and I didn’t want to stop.”
“I don’t come to a lot for poetry,” Spencer says. “Mostly novels -- and mostly conventions for academia-based writings.”
“Those have always scared me,” you chuckle, only half joking.
“Really? Why?”
“Oh, just the idea of hundreds of people crowded in a hall. That kind of thing just isn’t my speed.”
“You know, if it’s too scary to go alone, you’re welcome to come with me,” Spencer offers.
“Okay.”
“There’s one next Friday,” Spencer says. “If we’re not out on a case, we can go together, right after work.”
“Okay, yeah,” you smile. “What time?”
“It starts at 7, so we could leave work at 5:30 and get dinner beforehand.”
You mentally begin piecing next Friday together in your head and you nod, thankful for his mention of specific times. “That sounds good.”
Soon the chairs around you are filled and you recognize a few people who smile at you, so you smile back. Before long, the manager of the store is stepping up to introduce tonight’s poet, and Spencer watches you eagerly crack open their book.
+++
Somehow, spending time with Spencer has gotten worked into your routine.
You go with him to academic readings, and he comes with you to your poetry ones. The two of you have dinner together most nights because it’s your routine to eat right after work, and most of the time he’s already rambling about something to you when 5 o’clock hits and you begin packing up your stuff.
Tonight is no different, only this time when you’re walking next to Spencer to the bookstore for another poetry reading, he fills the silence.
“Can I tell you something?”
You pause, but nod anyway, wondering why Spencer is asking this time when he hasn’t before -- not that you can recall.
Spencer takes a deep breath. “I know you thought I hated you, and honestly when you told me that, I couldn’t believe it. Because I don’t hate you and I never have. I...I like you a lot, Y/N.”
“Oh,” you let out a breathy chuckle. “I like you too, Spencer. I’m glad you don’t hate me and thanks for saying it again. Sometimes I need the reminder.”
He chews on his lower lip as he listens to you, and it’s obvious you didn’t catch what he is really trying to say. “Y/N, I mean...I like you. I have feelings for you -- romantic feelings,” he clarifies, watching your face intently.
You’ve never made the most facial expressions, but when you do, they can be exaggerated. Which is what happens now.
Your eyes widen and you make what looks like a grimace with your lower lip. “I’m sorry,” you say, scrunching your nose. “Have these…have these all been dates?”
Spencer shrugs. “Only if you want them to be. I just like spending time with you.”
“I like spending time with you, too,” you smile softly. “You don’t hate me for not realizing, do you?”
“Of course not,” he laughs. “But I wanted to tell you because I like being honest with you and...if you feel the same, then...we can go from there, but if not, it’s okay. Like I said, I like spending time with you.”
“I do feel the same,” you blurt. “At least, I think I do. I don’t know. I might need to think, but I know I’m interested and...and I know I really like spending time with you.”
Spencer smiles. “Okay, uh...do you-- Can I hold your hand? Is that okay?”
You can’t help the smile that crawls onto your face in that moment, and you nod.
Spencer stretches out his hand and you take yours out of your pocket, hissing through your teeth for a moment at the cold air, but when Spencer’s fingers tangle with yours, you feel better.
Everything feels better when you’re with Spencer.

could you do some blaise zabini x male! reader and reader is a sibling of one of he golden trio?
Fuck yes, the tensssiiooonnnn!!! I seperate it into each one because I couldn't decide-
§×§×§ §×§×§ §×§×§
-Being A Weasley-
So, evenyone is shocked that your even near a Slytherin, especially your brothers and sister.
They know you can protect yourself. They know your strong and independent.
But they're all ready to rock Zabini on his ass if he even thinks of hurting you.
Fred and George will ask if your under some sort of spell or love potion.
Ginny is interrogating Blaise and Ron is probably shunning you.
Once Ginny finds out how much Blaise really likes you and that this isn't some booty call that'll break you emotionally, she relays the info to your brothers, who back off.
They learn to actually like the idiot, which is shocking to many members of Gryffindor AND Slytherin.
Anyway, so if you ever sneak him into the Gryffindor Common Room, expect teasing.
Like Ginny is singing a love song, Fred and George are making kissing noises and Ron is just gagging.
And constant teasing-
"Oh, Blaise~ I'll love you until the sun goes down~" "Fred, I will castrate you." "We can skip into the sunset together while holding hands~" ".. For fucks sake, George."
But in the end, Blaise kinda asked for this. He should've know, honestly.
Blaise learns to love the big family dynamic though.
Like if he gets harassed by McLaggen for his quidditch skills, the twins are there for back him off.
He is now an honorary Weasley and it comes with perks.
He bonds with Ginny through quidditch, helps Ron with his potions and actually buys stuff from the Twins shop, but then he's like "I wanna meet the rest of your family"
So of course your nervous, but he gets along with the 5 of you just fine, so what's 5 MORE people?
Like when he comes over to meet Molly and Arthur and he's treated with love and respect, even if he's a Slytherin, and even if everyone's worried he's gonna be a little snobby about the Burrow's shape and condition.
But when he says he loves it and he's touching the brick walls and going up the stairs very carefully to enjoy the creaking, everyone kinda just goes soft, especially you.
He has to hide his tears when Molly hugs him goodbye. And after that he's constantly asking to come back.
Basically, you soften him up, everyone loves him and he stays at the Burrow so often he calls it home.
But he meets Charlie, Bill and Percy and they manage to hit it off and their just proud their younger brother found someone who makes him happy and they love Blaise.
-Being A Potter-
Harry is thanking Merlin it isn't Malfoy.
He couldn't even describe how pissed he would've been if it was Malfoy.
Even the idea of seeing the smug ferret every day made him gag.
However, he still wasn't very happy that you were dating a Slytherin. He probably ignored you for like a day or two until finally confronting Blaise.
Yes, he used Ron and Hermione as backup to try to seem strong and powerful.
He wanted to make sure Blaise actually felt something for you and he wasn't just using you to pass time by.
Once Harry realizes Blaise isn't as bad as the Slytherins he hangs out with and kinda realise they have some things in common.
Like how they both had experienced loss of at least one parent.
I don't wanna say they bond over it-
But it kinda gets them on track to like actually talking.
You know what I mean.
Oh, and of course they talk about Quidditch and that's his bonding point with Ron. So now you just have three quidditch fans basically yelling over eachother for who supports the better team.
Hermione's is potions but this isn't about them.
But it's really weird when you walk into the dining hall on that second day and see your brother and boyfriend joking with each other at the Gryffindor Table.
So you scurry over and check Harry's tempurature like "Holy fuck, my brothers sick" and he bats your hand away like "No, I'm fine dumby."
And you see Ron and Hermione actually talking to him and you it feels like your stuck in an ulternate reality or something.
So you just sit down between Harry and Blaise and he wraps his arm around your waist and pulls you closer and everyone can't help but chuckle at your shocked/confused expression.
You were glad Blaise got along with your friends, and even happier he got along with Harry
But I know your brother sets up fucking rules about what you can and can not do.
"No sneaking out, no sneaking unto Slytherin's common room, no sex, no kissing in public, no laying in the same bed as him, no-" "Jeez, Potter, wanna leave something for us to do?" "... No calling me 'Potter'-"
We all know he isn't meeting the Dursleys, but he will come over to scare them, just for the hell of it.
Like if he goes with the Weasley's to go get Harry and Blaise doesn't hesitate to sass Vernon and drag Dudley through the mud.
Vernon blinking when he sees Blaise wrap an arm around your waist and he goes to say something but then he counds wizards vs muggle and shuts his trap for once.
Harry is so happy
He's now just like "YESYESYES MARRY BLAISE DO IT-"
But if Harry isn't the best man, he will hex Blaise.
-Being A Granger-
Hermione is, of course, protective of you. You're her brother, she loves you and wants you to be safe, happy and healthy and she knows who Blaise hangs out with.
Like Harry, she's just greatful it isn't Malfoy.
Or Crabbe.
Or Goyle.
She is constantly, CONSTANTLY asking if your ok and just overall checking if your actually happy.
She reminds you it's ok to put him in his place, if he needs to be.
In the end, she's just worried it's some ploy to drag you down.
Probably corners him with Harry and Ron and threatens the shit out of him if even thinks about laying a hand on you.
Like everyone around her is nervous and she's starting to raise her voice and go into full detail about how she'd like hex him into next Tuesday.
And he's just like "yes ma'am"
Blaise is a respectable man.
He's just sitting straight up and trying not to sweat as she yells and threatens him and Ron's just like "babe, ya good?"
"And I swear to Godric AND Merlin, if he ever comes to me saying you hurt his feelings, I will not hesitate to use the unforgivable curses, do you hear me?" "Yes, ma'am." "I'm serious, Blaise. I will not let you live this down. I will go into the Ministry just to make you cry!" "Yes, ma'am."
I love protective Hermione
But imagine Hermione using a word wrong and Blaise corrects her and they just argue over it for twenty minutes while you and Ron look at each other like "the fu CK"
So, I've said it before, but yes. Blaise and Hermione bond over potions.
Blaise talks about how he hates that Snape basically hands out good grades to Slytherins instead of making them work for it and that's kinda when Hermione realizes he's different.
They start bonding and become awkward friends. Of course, they argue occasionally. They do have some different views since Blaise is a Pure-blood and Hermione is a muggle born.
It's mostly about S.P.E.W.
She basically chaperones for all of your dates.
You guys could be going to Hogsmead and she'd make it a double date with her and Ron and it'll be dorky and weird, but at some point you two duck and run and avoid her and spend the day sneaking around and you guys have so much fun.
She let's up, of course, after Ron convinces her too.
You and Blaise keep sneaking around tho because it's so funny to see her turn red and start shouting about staying a specific distance apart and only holding hands and it's so funny.
But then Ron calls her a hypocrite and she starts going off on him and he just mouths 'run, quickly, go' and ya'll are sneakin' again.
Gosh, but Hermione honestly loves you two being together and just wants to keep you safe and everything.
And he's really, really awkward when he meets your parents, which is kinda funny because he's usually so calm and collected.
Long story short
Good luck with this one.

Hello! I love your posts about both of the Leverage series. What role does Breanna as a Maker fulfill in the team?
First off, sorry I took so long to answer this. I was holding off until I watched all the episodes because I wanted to see how much more was or wasn't done with 'Maker' Breanna.
And the short answer is? Not much.
But the long answer... well, to sum it up, that might change pretty soon in the next part of the season, and it's actually pretty character-based that we don't see it yet. Let me explain my reasoning.
Breanna tries to sell herself as a team member like this:
Breanna: "I'm not as good a hacker as you."
Hardison: "Damn straight."
Breanna: "But hacking's kinda old-school anyway, it's like any script kiddie can do that. I'm really better with, like, the social media part. Or like, drones, physical builds, you know, like... relevant skills."
So. First off, in this scene she's clearly trying to make herself sound valuable to the team. She doesn't want to just present herself as 'Hardison, but not as good.' She acknowledges that he's a better hacker but then tries to point out her own skills that could be useful, and the 'relevant' dig is just a joke because she's nervous and also he's her sibling so she's gotta.
No one really responds, so she asks them to give her a shot, to let her in because she found them and she's earned this. Hardison, though, is still stuck on her calling him a "script kiddie":
Hardison: "S- I'm s- scrip-script who? Who you calling script kiddie?" [to Eliot, standing behind Breanna] "Bruh, script kiddie? You hear this?"
Eliot: "Hey. Head chef." [pauses, tilts his head towards Breanna] "Chopping lettuce."
I bring this up because I think it's pretty relevant to what we see from Breanna. She literally just tried to present herself as different from Hardison, to emphasize her own skills in drones and social media manipulation. But the very first thing she hears is "head chef/chopping lettuce." Without the context of Eliot and Hardison's earlier conversation about Hardison being torn between his other work (that only he can do) and needing to let go and delegate some stuff, all she's hearing here is Eliot essentially calling her the less experienced cook. Same job really, just not as good at it.
We don't see much reaction on her face to this line. But throughout the rest of the season, a recurring aspect of her characterization is that she gets frustrated or disheartened when people shut her ideas down, and she tends to be less confident in herself/hesitant about offering ideas or surprised by getting praise.
She tries to prove herself quickly in the Rollin' on the River Job by going for the pearl despite being told not to, and then gets very upset and resentful when she's confined to the van for the rest of the con. Thing is, she was trying to prove herself by demonstrating Parker skills - skills which Breanna does not have at this point.
She's also compared negatively to Hardison in I think the same episode or maybe the next one? When she finds the shell corporation and is all proud of herself and then the team just kinda goes "even Harry coulda done that." They're not mean about it, but Breanna clearly isn't going as deep into the research as they like or are used to. Similarly, Eliot complains about having to apply for a job instead of just having it given to him and changes his backstory on the fly when Breanna really isn't ready. She doesn't have all the backups built like Hardison, she isn't able to change them as fast as he can. Again, there's a scene where he left her manuals and she kinda skimmed them but failed at something that would have been explained in the manual if she'd read it all.
She showed up wanting to be an addition to the team, to fill a different role from Hardison. But he took that as the impetus to leave and do his own thing, meaning Breanna now feel like she has to fill his role. And it's not going super well at first because that's not what she's good at. Not that she's bad by any means - but the Leverage team is very used to Hardison, and they aren't slowing down enough for her, or aren't always clearly explaining what they want from her.
Also, they're planning their cons with two things in mind for her: a) her safety, and b) her doing tech. Parker tries to teach her thieving skills onscreen, and just generally be a mentor. They put Breanna in the van early on and hesitate to let her out too much until they're more confident in her skills. This isn't helped by the whole pearl fiasco, obviously, but in general, they build plans around her being with someone else guiding her at first, or her being back at base doing Hardison's old job. Partly because they see that as safer but also because that's just, what they know to plan for.
Breanna is someone who feels bad about herself pretty easily, in my opinion. She gets discouraged. Eliot's early comment and Hardison leaving was enough to push her into the reckless pearl grab to try and impress the team with her skills. When that backfires, she gets a lot less bold about protesting a plan. Part of that comes from Harry's pep talk to her, as well. He encourages her to work as part of a team with the rest of the crew. And she basically takes that and throws herself into being what she thinks they want her to be.
Now, I'm not saying she never offers any ideas of her own. But it takes a while before she's very confident doing so, and it's not until the Card Game Job (which happens to be very emotionally significant for her personally) that she really tries to argue her point. (She repurposes her Halloween decorations to help the con the episode right before, but it's not quite the same situation.) And then she's still shut down. This is partially due to Parker's own hangups about being a mentor meaning she should always be the wiser one and not have to learn from her own student, and that does change over the course of the episode. But Breanna doesn't push super hard for Parker to use her notes at first, despite clearly wanting to. However, she does grow in confidence once her relevant knowledge starts being the key to figuring out the riddle. And at the end of the episode Parker makes a point of mentioning that Breanna's a good teacher.
The very next episode, she brings a drone to a job.
Now, sadly poor little Frodo the drone is killed basically instantly, but that timing seems pretty telling to me. The other incredibly important thing that happens that episode, is that Breanna opens up, at first to Eliot, and then to the rest of the team (minus Harry), about her past and her regrets and mistakes.
We never actually learn what those are, because the team tells her it doesn't actually matter to them. Eliot tells her directly that they don't need her to be Hardison. Parker goes a step further and says "All we need from you is to be exactly the person you are."
And I think that is the key. Breanna was trying really, really hard to show them that she's a worthwhile member of the team. She was trying to live up to their perceived expectations of her, trying to fill Hardison's shoes. And because they aren't familiar with any other skills of hers/don't often work with things like social media and drones, they don't make plans for those. Breanna needs to take the initiative to offer her own skills and ideas, because unlike Nate in the original show, Parker and Sophie don't have the same knowledge of everything Breanna is capable of. They put her in plans in ways they knew she'd be safe, and doing things they expected she could do. And it wasn't exactly wrong of them, but it didn't give her the opportunity to bring many of her own unique skills to the table.
Now, the Double-Edged Sword Job (where they tell her all this) is the second-to-last episode, and the finale is entirely focused on Sophie and the ghost of Nate. Breanna plays a relatively small role in that one, so we don't see instant payoff from this conversation. But I do believe that, now she's no longer carrying the yoke of 'being Hardison', we will see her feeling more confident in offering up her own skills. We will see them succeeded and her own ideas and techniques becoming something the rest of the team learns how to account for in planning cons.
The two things Breanna brags about at the beginning are social media and drones/physical builds. As of yet, we've seen her utilize social media once (to throw the rave in her first episode - when Hardison was still there), and a drone once (the episode after her knowledge was key to the con succeeding). The drone didn't work that time, but I hope to see more, and see more clever applications of whatever "social media manipulation" and "physical builds" even means, in the second half of the season.
(Granted, Hardison never fit fully into a box of just hacking in the first place, and I'm sure there will still be a lot of overlap with Breanna being the primary tech person, but I'm excited for more variety as well.)

Don’t Hold Me -19- Carter Hart
Tumblr media
A/N: as always, all previous parts are linked in my master list. Also, umm don’t hate me for what happens at the very end. MENTIONS OF VIOLENCE  at the end as well, so if that could potently be triggering for you please be warned.
There was a moment, right when you first opened your eyes that you could’ve sworn you were a teenager again. You could hear Travis arguing with Ethan just feet from you, with the sound of someone playing NHL in the background. You felt so warm due to a blanket that someone had to have tossed over you at some point during the night. You wondered if you would see your house when you opened your eyes.
But there was an arm wrapped around you. So you couldn’t be at home. You were in Travis’s apartment. Ethan came in to help you and Kora move all of your things into a storage unit for the summer. He was going to stay for part of the playoffs. Carter was sleeping next to you. You’d both fallen asleep during a movie.
You wiggled out from under Carter’s arm, following the sound of the voices to the kitchen. Kora, who still looked half asleep, was tucked under Ethan’s arm. Nolan was playing NHL in the living room, yelling at one of the other Flyers through a headset. In your gut, you knew this was what a normal morning with them. This is what life should be like.
“Y/N! Tell him that he’s wrong!” Travis begged, pointing to Ethan.
You shook your head, still too tired to even start to get into their mess, “Please tell me someone made coffee?”
Kora stepped away from E, “I’ll pour you a cup.”
“Carter still knocked out?” Ethan asked as you sat down on one of the bar stools.
“Yeah, you two arguing woke me up,” You responded slowly, “What were you two arguing over anyway?”
“Don’t ask,” Kora handed you a cup of coffee, “They’re being guys.”
“They’re arguing over who had more points when they played together,” Nolan announced from the couch.
“Oh, that’s easy, it was Ethan,” You shrugged, “Travis had the most penalty minutes.”
Kora had to hold back a laugh at the face that Travis made. Truth was, although Travis was an incredible player, even then, he was still very scrappy. He made a lot of bad plays and often let his head get the better of him. Ethan was always more level headed, and was responsible for more than his fair share of assists. But when the two of them were on the ice together, nothing was going to stop them. You missed watching them together like that.
“Someone had to do all the dirty work,” Travis explained, “But I don’t get that many penalties now.”
Kora reached over and messed up his hair, “No, you behave now. Like a good little feisty Canadian.”
“Careful, he bites when provoked,” Carter joked, finally seeming to have woken up.
“Better watch it, we have practice in a couple of hours, I won’t take it easy on you,” Travis warned.
“Okay Teeks, sure,” Carter kissed the top of your head, “Morning babe.”
You felt your cheeks heat up a little as you tilted your head to look up at him. This was something you could really get used to, all of you being together like this. You and Kora had to move out of the dorm, since the year was finally over. So Travis was letting her and Ethan crash at his place, while you stayed with Carter. Although, last night all of you ended up over here to watch movies and eat pizza. Nolan casually reminded everyone that pizza was not a part of the approved playoff diet.
“Sleep okay?” Carter asked you, taking a sip of your coffee.
You nodded and leaned back into him, “Out like a light.”
Carter wrapped his arms around you, dropping his head so his chin rested on your shoulder. His hair tickled your cheek, causing you to smile. Across from you, both Ethan and Travis were watching you with the same sort of fond smile.
Kora looked between the two other men, “Just say it, they’re cute,” She huffed, “Nolan, you wanna play me?”
“I’d like to see what you’re made of,” Nolan replied, holding up an extra controller.
The following night, you, Kora, and Ethan file into the arena, ready for the next game in the series. Carter was starting in net tonight, and Travis literally wouldn’t stop bouncing all day long. You made a joke that someone needed to take out his batteries. Kora held onto Ethan, smiling as random Flyers fans high fived each other for wearing jerseys.
“Now this is a good way to celebrate another year of hell being over,” Kora joked, “We’re all drinking tonight, right?”
“You two can have all you’d like,” E told us, “I’ll be semi sober so I can take care of both of you.”
Kora looked up at him in a way that you could only describe as love. It was weird, seeing your best friend and your brother like that. Yet, it made you happy at the same time. You liked the idea of them being happy together, come what may.
“We should get to our seats,” You told them, “Drinks later.”
“I’m going to be the only one getting drunk tonight, aren’t I?” Kora questioned.
Both you and Ethan laughed, knowing you weren’t going to have more than a drink, maybe two. The only time you ever really got drunk was with Kora, but you wanted to be sober for this. You wanted to watch every second as the game unfolded. You wanted to be able to run to Carter and hold him after the game was over, because who knew how many more times you could do that.
Kora leaned over to you once you were all in your seats, “You have that look again, are you okay?”
You forced a smile and tried to push away the sudden sickening feeling you had in your stomach, “yeah, I’m fine.”
But you couldn’t shake the sudden feeling that you shouldn’t have come tonight. That you should’ve watched from Carter’s apartment. But you hadn’t missed a home game almost all season, and you certainly weren’t going to miss a playoff game.
Yet, every ounce of you was screaming to run, to get away while you still could. But you knew you were safe, Zachary wouldn’t dare come near you while Ethan was here. He wouldn’t really do anything in the arena, where all of the security knew you by now. You were safe here.
You tugged on the sleeves of your jersey, pulling them down so they covered your hands. You couldn’t help the little shiver that went through you. So instead, you pulled out your phone and looked at the last text Carter sent you, vowing to win since everyone was here. Your eyes seemed to stay glued to the part where he said he loved you and he loved knowing that you were wearing his jersey.
Although he laughed about it at first, somehow knowing that the jersey on your back was actually his old one, and not just one you got from the team store, made him feel different. Like you were really shouting to everyone that you were his, and he was yours. He often chirped some of the other guys about their relationships, but that all stopped when he realized how much he loved you.
Because the truth of it was, Carter could see a whole life with you. An entire future that was so bright and full of love and happiness. He hadn’t told you that yet, mainly because he didn’t want to scare you. But he wanted everything with you. He wanted a ring on your finger, you walking down an aisle all in white, maybe a couple of kids in a house outside the city one day. But for now...for now he was just happy knowing you had on his jersey while you watched him play.
You hold tightly onto Kora’s hand as the clock ticks down. Carter was so close to a shutout. How often could you say that your boyfriend got a shutout during the Stanley Cup playoffs? You were so sure that your heart would beat right out of your chest. Even E seemed to literally be on the edge of his seat.
Sure they were still a few games off from winning the series, but this would really tip the scales in their favor. For the first time you actually let yourself think about it. About what it would mean for Travis, Nolan, and for Carter. You could almost picture them hoisting the cup. Could almost see yourself on the ice with everyone, laughing as Travis attacked you. You could almost see all of it. You could almost see all of the things you hadn’t allowed yourself to want.
The arena erupted, fans were yelling so loudly you swore your ears were going to be rining for days. You’d even lost your own voice sometime during the second period. You spent the whole game engaging with everyone in the arena. You hadn’t experienced energy like that in years. You were almost willing to bet that you felt the same level of adrenaline as the team did. Honestly, you’d probably be just as amped up as Carter when you got home.
“He did it,” Ethan marveled over the roar of the arena, “He fucking did it.”
Kora nearly jumped on your shoulders, “My best friend is dating a goal god!”
You were in a state of shock right up until the time you saw Carter after the game. Then it was like everything kicked into high gear and you ran to him, you even jumped so he had to catch you. A couple other members of the team whistled jokingly as you kissed him.
“You did so good.”
Maybe it was the bit of alcohol in your system, or the adrenaline from the game. But you seemed to forget every little problem you had. You forgot about Zachary, and the impossible decision that lurked there. Or the fact that you still had to pick who you were going to spend the summer with, if anyone. You forgot about all of it. All you wanted to do was be with all of them.
“Damn you look good tonight,” Carter joked, tugging on his jersey.
“We should go out. All of us,” You told Carter excitedly, “Like go get drinks or something.”
“You want to go out?” Carter asked, surprised that you were the one to even bring it up.
“I feel like dancing and having fun. Finals are over, you just fucking owned the net. C’mon, please?”
“Hartsy take the girl out,” Kevin Hayes chirped.
Carter smiled and kissed you again, “Well, let’s go out then.”
So that's what you did. All of you filed into some club that Travis knew about. You weren’t really dressed for it, although you did have a nice top on under the jersey, but you didn’t care. Not as the music seemed to fill your soul as you held onto Carter. He laughed and danced with you, both of you seeming to forget everything.
Ethan watched as you let go. He and Travis just looked at each other and smiled. Neither of them had seen this side of you since you were in high school, before Zachary broke so much of you. Ethan felt himself relax the more you seemed to smile and come alive. Kora soon pulled Ethan and Travis both onto the dance floor, insisting that all of you be together.
Hours later, so late in fact that you were pretty sure it was morning, you and Carter were slowly making your way towards his building. Ethan, Kora, and Travis all split off a while ago so they could go back to Travis’ place. You were still so giddy, happily talking off Carter’s ear.
He felt a sort of warmth in his chest. This was the person Trvais and Nolan talked about. He was finally able to see the you that Travis told him about for years, the you that was free. He wished he could’ve met her sooner.
“I want to go back with you,” You told him suddenly.
“Huh?” he wasn’t entirely sure how you’d gone from talking about wanting a breakfast beagle from the diner off campus, that certainly wasn’t open this time of the morning, to wanting to go somewhere else with him. His brain was hazy, both from the alcohol and everything else that happened.
“To Canada, if the offer still stands?”
You stopped walking and turned to face him. When you really stopped to think about it earlier in the night you realized that there wasn’t any other place you wanted to be. You’d be safe with him in Canada, you would finally be able to fully love him there. Nothing would stand in your way. It would just be you and Carter. Everything would be okay.
“God I love you,” He whispered before leaning down to kiss you, “Of course the offer still stands.”
“Good,” You pulled at his neck so he would kiss you again.
You really didn’t care that you were in the middle of a dark sidewalk in the middle of the night. You couldn’t even pay attention to the cold that was slowly working its way into your bones. Because all you could think about was his lips on yours, and the summer that now awaited you. All you wanted was that. You just wanted him.
“Now Doll, this isn’t part of the game,” You couldn’t pull away from Carter fast enough to find the source of the voice. But you already knew. You wanted to warn Carter to run, to get away. But there was a loud sound that made your ears ring again, but in a different way from the arena. And then...there was just nothing.

Once upon a dream – Albedo x gn!Fatui!reader
I know you, I’ve walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, the look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
And I know it’s true that visions are seldom all they seem
But if I know you, I know what you’ll do
You’ll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream
Mondstadt was beautiful at night. Although most of the shops were already closed, the streets were still filled with people, sitting in front of the taverns where they enjoyed a few drinks and the balmy breeze that blew gently through the alleyways. Everything was peaceful and somehow quite idyllic, and you stopped in your track to take in all the impressions that rained down on you.
In your life, you had barely experienced moments like this. As a member of the Fatui, you were always on the road, traveling wherever your Archon sent you and fulfilling every mission she gave you. It was a restless life, dangerous too, but you had never been one to complain, especially since you had always dreamed about exploring Teyvat, seeing other cities and meeting new people along the way. Without the Fatui, you probably would still be stuck in Snezhnaya where you would be doing the same things every day, always wondering if this was all life had in store for you.
Needless to say that you still felt incredibly honored that the Tsaritsa had chosen you, alongside with a few other Fatui Diplomats, to accompany Signora, one of the Eleven Harbingers, on her trip to Mondstadt. So far, the trip had been everything but fun, every day filled with work and duties, including spying on the Knights of Favonius that were understandably weary of every Fatui who set foot in their city. Most of them kept their eyes on you twenty-four-seven.
Even now, during your rare free time, you could feel the guards watching you as you made your way back to the market district. A couple of people were standing outside of Cat’s Tail, laughing and joking around, just like they usually did. By now, you recognized most of them since you came by here every day. It was one of the few spots in Mondstadt where nobody payed attention to you because they were too busy with minding their own business to wonder about a Fatui Diplomat passing by, eyeing them curiously before walking on.
Your destination was the upper square, the one with the pretty fountain, right in front of Good Hunter. You had enjoyed a few meals there over the past few days (people where rightfully proud of the restaurant) but at this late hour, the shop was already closed, promotional signs neatly stored away.
You sat down on one of the benches near the fountain and crossed your legs as you let your eyes wander. During the day, this square was a popular meeting spot but now, there were only a few people here. The perfect opportunity to see him again.
During the few meetings with the Knights of Favonius you had attended, he had stayed in the background, only speaking when someone addressed him directly and even then, his answers had been quite brief. It hadn’t taken you long to figure out that he preferred to keep to himself, hence why he almost exclusively came here long after dark to inspect the Crafting Bench for any damages and to have a quick conversation with Timaeus, the alchemist who supervised the Crafting Bench throughout the day.
Usually, you kept your distance, admiring him from afar, but today, you had promised yourself to finally introduce yourself to him. Not only because it was rude to stare at someone you barely knew but also because a considerable part of you really wanted to find out who the Chief Alchemist truly was.
You didn’t have to wait long. Propping up your head on your hand, you watched him as he talked to Timaeus. His bright teal eyes almost seemed to glow in the warm light of the street lamps, and you couldn’t help but smile at the sight. It really should be illegal to be that pretty.
About twenty minutes later, Timaeus made his farewells to the Chief Alchemist, leaving him with a bunch of notes. It took you a brief moment to realize that this was the moment you had waited for but then, you jumped to your feet and took a deep breath before walking over to him.
“Excuse me,” you said, your heart starting to beat frantically as he looked at you, a slightly confused expression on his face. “Yes?”
“I’m sorry to bother you,” you continued and cleared your throat when you realized how squeaky your voice was sounding. “But I think you might have dropped this.”
You put out your hand, showing him the tiny gemstone you had bought at With wind comes glory a few hours ago. The stone’s color perfectly matched his eyes, the same bright teal that you saw in your dreams sometimes. You were absolutely sure that nobody else on this earth had eyes so pretty that you even thought about them in your sleep.
“No, I’m afraid you’re mistaken,” he replied softly, snapping you out of your thoughts. “It’s not mine.”
“Oh,” you mumbled. Well, that didn’t go as planned, you thought and let out a quiet sigh. So, what else could you say to him?
Usually, you had a quick tongue and always managed to figure out a topic to talk about but right now, you felt like every statement that came to your mind was either incredibly stupid or completely irrelevant. Think, you urged yourself, think!
But he had already lost interest in you. His attention was back on the clipboard Timaeus had handed him earlier, his brows slightly furrowed as he studied the notes from his assistant.
“So, um- can I perhaps ask you a few things about alchemy?” you asked when the silence between the two of you got uncomfortable. He didn’t look up from his notes but at least, he nodded which you took as a good sign.
“I mean, not now,” you added, painfully aware that you didn’t even know enough about alchemy to ask him a simple question. It definitely would have been better to prepare for this conversation but now it was too late to turn back. “I just – I wanted to make sure that you’re okay with helping me before I deluge you with my questions.”
Finally, he looked up, his gaze meeting yours for a brief second. “Ah, it’s you. I saw you at the meetings. You’re one of the Fatui Diplomats,” he said but unlike others, he didn’t seem to judge you. He simply stated a fact, nothing more. If anything, he sounded a bit curious.
“My name’s (Y/N),” you replied, in an almost desperate attempt to keep the conversation going because a part of you really didn’t want him to leave. When you saw the small smile that flashed over his face, you felt like your heart stopped for a second.
“I’m Albedo.”
But if I know you, I know what you’ll do
You’ll love me at once, the way you did
Once upon a dream.
That’s when it all had started. Whenever you weren’t busy with your mission or other tasks Signora assigned you to, you spent every minute with Albedo, listening to his musings about alchemy and the secrets of the world he desperately wanted to disclose. You didn’t understand half of the things he was talking about but you didn’t mind. It was enough for you to just listen to him, watching how his eyes lit up whenever he made progress in his research, and every time he sheepishly thanked you for keeping him company, you found yourself falling for him a bit more.
Of course, you knew right from the beginning that it was stupid to develop feelings for him, given the fact that you had to leave Mondstadt at some point to return back to Snezhnaya – but there was nothing you could do to stop it. Everything about Albedo was adorable. He was a gentle soul, curious and kind and so beautiful that it still took your breath away every time you look at him. And you wanted to be with him, against all reason. There was just something about him that seemed so familiar, so wonderfully familiar that you simply didn’t have the power to resist him.
And before you had even fully realized what was happening, you were already head over heels in love with him.
You didn’t tell him, at first. After all, he was still the Chief Alchemist of the Knights of Favionius and you were still a member of the Fatui, someone the knights didn’t trust at all, and you didn’t want to spoil the precious time you could spend together.
But eventually, you didn’t want to keep it a secret any longer. You wanted him to know how much he really meant to you. It had been an awkward confession, your face hot from embarrassment when he didn’t respond immediately but as soon as he softly asked if it would be alright to kiss you, you fell in love with him all over again.
I know you, I’ve walked with you once upon a dream
I know you, the look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam
And I know it’s true that visions are seldom all they seem
But, just as all good things, your relationship with Albedo came to an end about three months later when new orders from Snezhnaya arrived, recalling you and the other remaining Fatui Diplomats back to your home country immediately. Signora and the vast majority of her team had already left Mondstadt quite a while ago, and it would be a lie if you said that it hadn’t raised your hopes up that you were allowed to stay for a little longer.
Now, all your hopes were shattered to pieces. You could feel tears burning in your eyes as you stared down at the letter in your hand, reading the orders over and over again as you tried to understand that it was really over this time. There was no way you could convince your superior or even the Tsaritsa to prolong your deployment in Mondstadt.
How were you supposed to tell Albedo about this? How were you supposed to say Goodbye to him?
You should have stayed away from him right from the start. Then, you would have been the only one who got his heart broken by your new orders but no, you had decided to drag Albedo into this mess, and now you were forced to leave him.
You buried your face in your hands. This was slowly becoming just one big nightmare, one that threatened the wonderful, silly dream you had about your future. A future you wanted to share with Albedo. But of course, you couldn’t, not as long as you were a Fatui. And you couldn’t leave them either because you had sworn an oath to the Tsaritsa; you had sworn to be true to her and Snezhnaya, no matter what happened, and to break this oath had never been an option for you. Heck, you probably wouldn’t even survive betraying your Archon like that, let alone get the happy ending you wished for.
So, no matter how you put it, you had no other choice than to return to Snezhnaya.
*
You couldn’t sleep, contrary to Albedo who was sound asleep next to you, all snuggled up to you and completely unaware of the emotional rollercoaster you had been experiencing for the past few days. You had waited for the perfect moment to tell him that you had to leave but of course, it never came. There simply was no perfect moment to tell the person you loved that you couldn’t stay with them any longer, that you had no idea when you’d be able to see each other again. If you would ever see each other again.
And with that in mind, you had decided that it was for the best to just leave. Albedo would be heartbroken, yes, but he would be angry, too. And maybe that anger would be enough to make him move on from you. But for now, you wanted to enjoy the time the two of you had still left. The Fatui delegation would leave Mondstadt in the early morning, as agreed with the Acting Grandmaster, so you still had another two, maybe three hours you could spend by Albedo’s side.
You turned your head to press a soft kiss to Albedo’s cheek. He mumbled something in his sleep, and when you heard your name, your heart dropped. He was dreaming about you.
He was dreaming about you and you were about to leave him without even saying Goodbye.
*
Dawn came and with it the moment you had feared for the past few days. But you had made your decision, and it was too late to change your mind.
Carefully, you tried to pull away from Albedo who was still clinging to you, his arm wrapped tightly around your waist, almost as if he had sensed that this would be the last night you would spend together. You felt terrible as you pushed his arm aside, freeing yourself from his hug, although every part of you screamed to stay here with him.
But you had to leave. And until now, everything went just as you had planned.
Until you accidentally knocked the small lamp on the bedside table over when you gathered the few belongings you hadn’t packed up yet.
Albedo stirred awake, his eyes fluttering open, confusion clouding his eyes.
“(Y/N)?” he asked, his voice still heavy with sleep. “Where are you going?”
You bit your bottom lip, trying to fight back the urge to tell him the truth, and leaned back down to brush a strand of hair from his forehead. “Nowhere,” you reassured him softly. “You’re just dreaming, my love. Go back to sleep.”
Your fingertips caressed his skin, gently tracing the outlines of his face as you watched him slowly drifting off to sleep again.
“I love you, my little prince,” you whispered and pressed a soft kiss to his lips one last time before you turned away and quietly left the room. Please forgive me.
The walk to the town gate gave you enough time to regain your composure. By the time you joined the others, you had carefully locked away your emotions, putting on that blank expression that didn’t show how much it hurt you to leave this city.
Lyudmila, one of the other Diplomats, gave you a brief smile. “Looks like we’re all here,” she said. “Let’s go home. We’ve spent way too much time here already.”
You nodded, although you couldn’t help but flinch at the word home. Snezhnaya would never be your home again, not when Albedo couldn’t be there with you.
Maybe one day, you thought to yourself and granted yourself one more look at Mondstadt and the town walls that almost seemed to glow in the warm light of the rising sun, we will meet again.
But if I know you, I know what you'll do You'll love me at once, the way you did once upon a dream.

Continuation of the story from Day 1, because you guys requested it enough that I started Thinking, lol.
Bio Dad Bruce Wayne Month 2020
Day 3: Siblings
—*—*—*—*—*
Dinner. One day after meeting her father for the first time. She had managed to postpone any sort of… socialization and emotional bonding, during their meeting earlier for everyone to choose from Marinette’s initial sketches for them and generally consult some more, by once again steamrolling everyone with Professionalism and Business Marinette.
But no longer. She couldn’t escape. Staring at a giant wooden, elaborate door like it was her pathway to Prison—
“Stop dramatizing everything in your head, Mari,” Adrien fondly scolded, gently rapping the side of her skull with one knuckle. “I got things to do, for your company I might add, so I can’t stay. But, you’ll be fine,” he leaned in, smirking at her and winking as he lowered his voice. “Besides, you’ve been through way worse than a little family reunion, Bugaboo. You’ve faced down way scarier people than the Waynes. You got this,” he encouraged before giving her a solid clap on the shoulder and a chaste kiss on the cheek, walking back towards their sleek but understated dark red car. Rented, of course, for the business trip, but nonetheless very nice.
Adrien had driver’s licenses for just about every major country. Marinette stopped questioning it a while ago.
She waited until he was gone before throwing her hands up. “Scarier people, he says. Like the Bat clan isn’t known for being some of the most intimidating heroes and vigilantes in the spotlight,” she grumbled. When she turned around, it was to the door already being open, and she jumped a bit in surprise. She hadn’t heard anyone answer the door, but sure enough Alfred Pennyworth stood there holding the door with a small smile, with Bruce Wayne and all of Marinette’s siblings gathered behind him. At least this time, nobody had their spouses or children. Every one of them was smirking, some more sharply than others (Damian).
“Would you like to come in, Miss Dupain-Cheng?” Alfred asked, waving his hand to gesture to the fact that there was plenty of room for her to enter. Blushing, she did just that, taking a breath and forcing herself to actually look at the family she had just met instead of down at her glossy navy blue pumps. Jason, the man with the white fringe in his hair. Second Robin, current Red Hood, her mind supplied, spoke up with a grin and his arms crossed over his chest.
“You don’t look so suave anymore, little Queenie,” he teased. Marinette instantly made a face, screwing up her nose.
“No. That nickname is vetoed. One of my friend’s nicknames is Queenie, and not only will she never let me live it down if she finds out someone called me that, but, just no,” Marinette dramatically shivered. “Most of my friends call me Princess nowadays anyway,” she shrugged. “Adrien started it, and it somehow caught on. It’s too much work to protest at this point.”
“You’re not good with crowds,” the soft spoken woman, Cassandra, decided to add. Marinette winced, shifting on her feet even as she followed the group to the dining room.
“Ehhh. I’ve gotten used to dealing with press and stuff, to a certain degree anyway considering my alias. And wearing my Business persona always helps in consultations. But, I’m not…” Marinette bit the inside of her cheek, clearly a little uncomfortable as she looked around. “The best at… actually talking to people outside of my small group of friends.”
Bruce sighed as most of his kids chuckled or snorted at that. Dick, the oldest but second-shortest of the men besides Tim, came over and draped an arm familiarly over Marinette’s shoulders. He still towered over her though, so he had to slouch a bit to do so.
“Ah, that would be the genetics. Let’s hope you stay where you are at instead of getting as bad at communication as B,” he told her cheerfully. She raised an eyebrow at him.
“What about Damian?”
“He’s even worse!”
“Tt,” said teenager tutted, rolling his eyes as they entered the dining room and he was able to come up to Marinette’s other side. “That was mostly how I was raised before I met Father. I have gotten a lot better than I used to be, Grayson.”
Dick gave him a smile, graciously relieving Marinette of the close contact in favor of rustling Damian’s hair despite the fact that the younger Wayne was taller than him already. “Yes, you sure have! But you still need improvement, baby bird.”
Soon enough, everyone managed to get seated around the large dining table. Bruce insisted that Marinette take one of the seats next to him at the head of the table, across from Damian, since this was her first family dinner. Dick sat next to her, Jason across from him, followed by Tim and Duke on Damian’s side of the table. On the other side of Dick sat Cassandra, and then Stephanie. Alfred served everyone before also taking a seat at the table, on the opposite end from Bruce.
And, true to BatFam tradition, everything was a little awkward for the first minute or two. Marinette didn’t know what to say, and nobody quite knew where to begin. Dick would normally start a conversation, but he was trying to glare into Bruce’s head a silent message of “talk to her, damn it.”
Finally seeming to get it, Bruce cleared his throat and turned to Marinette. “So, I wanted to ask. When do you find out about being my daughter?”
Several people around the table closed their eyes in mourning for Bruce’s social skills. Marinette though, just smiled in slight relief at the decision of how to start talking being taken from her.
“Oh. It was in stages, really. When I was ten, we started our unit in school on genetics. I don’t usually care enough about science to do much more than the school requires, but genetics captivated me for some reason. I researched it almost obsessively at home for a while, almost instantly realizing that there had to be a reason that I had blue eyes when none of the rest of my family did. After a week or two, I found my Maman and Papan’s adoption papers in their room,” she blushed, tugging on one end of her bangs, which she had framing her face since she was wearing her hair down that day. “I uh… I’ve always been a little nosy. I never told them that I found the papers, to me it was just the answer I needed. I didn’t think about it at all after that, and my obsession over genetics went away. It wasn’t until I was thirteen that I decided to look into my birth parents,” Marinette sighed, shoving a bite of food in her mouth to buy her time before continuing. Everyone was focused on her, and it was a little unsettling. Every one of them had a sharper gaze than a normal person, and it made her feel like she was made of glass and everyone else could see right through her. “I was going through a lot, back then. I wanted someone to be mad at, I wanted to be able to blame my DNA for the things that had happened.”
“Things?” Bruce interrupted, back straight and eyebrows drawn down. “What things?” Marinette giggled, tilting her head instead of answering and just letting her eyes study him. Bruce Wayne, Batman, the Dark Knight. Original vigilante of Gotham city, one of the founding members of the Justice League. Famous for his secrecy, intimidating presence, and intelligence. Then she switched her gaze, one by one, to everyone else at the table before leaning back and taking a sip of her soda.
“Do you guys know anything about the situation Paris experienced for four years?” She asked, instead of directly answering. It was Tim who frowned, leaning forward to look at her and reply.
“I heard very vague rumors of weird things, but nothing concrete enough to investigate. What happened?”
Marinette hummed, deciding to sum it up for them. “The short version? When I was thirteen, a classmate of mine spontaneously turned into a giant rock monster and destroyed a good portion of the city. Turns out, that was the first of many attacks by our city’s very own supervillain, Hawkmoth. He had a magical artifact that allowed him to take advantage of anyone’s negative emotions to give them powers and brainwash them into being, essentially, temporary villains that he used for his own means. Two heroes showed up out of nowhere, powered by similar magical artifacts, to combat him and free the people he corrupted. Ladybug and Chat Noir, the original Parisian heroes and the leaders of the team that later had to form.”
Jason frowned, along with everyone else at the table. Finally, it was Duke who asked:
“How did we not know about villains in Paris?” To which Marinette just gave him a dangerously wicked smirk that was far too similar to Damian’s for anyone’s comfort.
“Because I do my job,” she told him flatly, sipping from her cup as everyone stared at her in various amounts of shock. “That’s why finding out that my biological father was Batman made so much sense. That’s why I wanted to find out who my birth parents were. I wanted to blame the heroism on genetics. And, it doesn’t look like I was exactly wrong.”
—*—*—*—*—*
Yeah, that was how her first family dinner and subsequent identity reveal went.
Luckily, considering that Bruce had hired MDC for a pretty long job, Marinette was able to finish school online instead of going back to Paris for it. There was no real need anyway, they had defeated Hawkmoth and gotten Adrien emancipated so for now it was calm in Paris. They didn’t need their heroes anymore, for the time being. This meant that Marinette and Adrien, along with a few employees that helped measure and cut fabric and do secretarial duties they needed help with, got to stay in Gotham while Marinette went back and forth to Wayne manor, Wayne Tower, and back to their temporary home.
After about a month, Marinette was comfortable enough with the Waynes that she found herself lounging in the bat cave as she sketched, though she kept raising her eyes to the glass tubes that held old uniforms. Damian was sat across from her, essentially laying out over two chairs while he played some game upside down on his phone. He might usually be a cold brat, even for a sixteen year old, but even he liked to abuse the way furniture should be used and ignore the world via technology.
But he still caught her constantly wandering gaze.
“You don’t like them.”
“They suck!” Marinette immediately agreed, slamming her sketchbook on the metal briefing table. “Your Robin outfit is the only passable one there is! The colors aren’t even the issue, even high fashion designers can appreciate a good color clash moment. But what was Father thinking?! Putting Grayson in that glorified onesie— why are there no pants?! Jason’s at least as a cape that can cocoon his body and prevent anyone from seeing the disaster beneath. I should thank Tim for at least upgrading the suit to having pants, but he still kept the outside-underwear look that I cannot forgive. The attempt at fashion, though, is appreciated. Disappointing, but appreciated.”
“That pretty much sums them all up,” Damian quipped, getting a snort of amusement out of his sister. Maybe that was one thing he had grown to like about her. She didn’t reprimand him for his sense of humor, and usually she even laughed along. The more morbid humor would get a playful shove and a glare, but no real animosity. And she understood him on a different level, too. One he appreciated even more.
“You said, yesterday, that the Cure brings back everyone who dies during a Miraculous-related incident,” Damian spoke up again after a moment, pointedly not looking at her. “Did you ever count?”
Marinette, this being one of the reasons he was quickly growing fond of her, immediately understood. She sighed, closing her notebook. She might have only been two years his elder, but she had had what felt like a lifetime of more experiences than he did, usually in the friendship and social department though. They were roughly equal in their heroism experience, which was weird to think about, but Damian still valued her input. It was different from the rest of the family.
“It was different in Paris than it would be for anyone else. I didn’t keep track of the number of people who died,” she finally answered, taking her hair out of its work bun and running her hands through the midnight black locks. “But I kept track of how often. Since nobody remembered their deaths, I guess I felt it was my responsibility to remember my failures for them. My former best friend, Alya. Over the course of those four years, she died seventeen times. Her boyfriend, Nino, died fourteen. The Mayor died three times. Chloe, my current friend and former bully, died twenty-two times,” she grimaced at Damian’s shocked expression, nodding grimly. “During those first two, maybe two and a half years, she was one of the primary Akuma targets. She was still either an active bully or in the beginning of trying to change for the better, so she caused a lot of negative emotions everywhere she went. Things got better once she matured a bit, though. Anyway, there’s this girl I used to babysit. Manon. She died five times before she was even ten years old,” Marinette shook her head, that look of age and exhaustion that Damian saw in every Wayne and every hero he had ever fought with seeping into her eyes. “My parents, they died thirty-seven times. They were constantly worried about me, and ran into danger on several occasions trying to find and keep me safe. But I could never tell them who I was. I physically could. I had the power to sit them down and say; Hey, I’m Ladybug. Stop running out and getting yourselves killed. But I never did. I valued my identity first. So I usually ended up seeing, in the middle of a fight, one or both of them squished under falling debris. Or drowned. Frozen solid. Burned alive,” she paused, taking a deep breath to steady herself. “So no. I don’t understand what it was like for you, to count bodies as you felled them. But hell, if it doesn’t feel like I should. Logic doesn’t mean much in the face of emotion, especially guilt. I know I didn’t kill the people I care about, but every single one of their deaths weighs on me like I was the one that caused it.”
Damian nodded, and they shared a few moments of peaceful, contemplative silence as they both ruminated on their less than pleasant memories without fear of being yelled at for what those memories contained.
“But, I do have a secret,” she admitted softly, attracting her brother’s emerald-eyed attention again. The normally cheerful woman was much more subdued even than before, sapphire irises self conscious and vulnerable, which was rare. She licked her lips, even more rare considering her love of her light pink lipstick, and moved off her chair so that she was, instead, sitting on the cold stone floor. Without hesitation, Damian joined her.
“Technically, it didn’t happen. It was a timeline that my friend, the one who I gave the snake Miraculous, essentially erased when he reversed time. But I remember it even though I shouldn’t. How could I forget?”
“You took a life,” Damian whispered, grimacing in empathy. “First time?”
“And the second, and the fifth,” she admitted. “Viperion had to try seven times before I stopped repeating it. But it was always the same person, back during our final battle. I killed Gabriel Agreste seven times. But nobody but me and Luca will ever remember.”
Damian and Marinette both knew it wasn’t the same as Damian’s childhood. They both knew that they would likely never fully understand one another’s trauma. Not the nuances of it. But they did understand the important parts, the broad strokes. Despite their vastly different lives, they understood the big parts that shaped one another.
That was why Damian took to her so quickly. If he had been younger and still bratty, naive, and angry at everything, then it would be a different story entirely. But he was matured, more willing to let himself feel sympathy. And that made the difference.
“You never forget the first person,” he remarked.
“No matter the age or timeline,” she agreed. “I saw how hard it was to stop. How sickeningly addictive it can be, but I hate what it makes me more than I like how it feels.”
“... me too,” Damian whispered. “Me too.”

“Wooo!” Marinette cheered as she flew through the air, her hands latching onto Dick’s. There was no audience, but there didn’t need to be. Just the two of them, doing a routine that they’ve been working on during the few chances they had for the past several weeks. Marinette had never done trapeze before Dick helped her learn, but her time swinging through Paris streets helped tremendously alongside her general Gymnastics experience.
Marinette and Dick flipped through the air, swinging from bar to bar, Dick occasionally catching and tossing her again. They soared through the air, both curling through two flips before landing on their respective platforms with matching wide smiles. Marinette, chest heaving a bit since she was slightly out of shape (meaning that she wasn’t at all out of shape, only out of practice when it came to swinging through the air for any length of time. There’s a difference). She met Dick on the floor, who proceeded to ruffle her hair happily.
“That was awesome! Looks like you finally got the routine down,” he praised. She laughed, elbowing him.
“I bet I’m better on the balance beam,” she challenged, making Dick grin widely.
“Oh you are on!”
—*—*—*—*—*
“Ya ever died before?” Jason asked, making Marinette chuckle.
“Two-hundred and eighty-seven times.”
“You started as Ladybug at thirteen, right?”
“Yup. No training or mentor for the first year either.”
“Yeah, then that sounds about right. Wanna go break all the traffic laws?”
“Only if we take your bike.”
“Fuckin’ Duh. What else?”
—*—*—*—*—*
“You stalked Adrien?” Tim asked, smirking that insufferable smirk of his. Marinette groaned, flopping back onto the sofa.
“No! I didn’t mean it that way, anyway. I just took a lot of pictures and spied on him.”
“Yup. You’re Bruce’s kid,” he remarked, tapping away at his laptop. Marinette narrowed her eyes.
“You have noooo place to judge, Mister ‘Dick Grayson is the only person alive who can do four somersaults in the air!’ And ‘Yes, I‘ve known that you are batman since I was eight. Look at all these pictures I took when I— what was your terminology again?”
Tim rolled his eyes, but a grin was peeking through. “Yeah, yeah.”
—*—*—*—*—*
Four months later, and Marinette was staring down at all the garment bags she had painstakingly filled. Outfits for every single one of her new family members. It took a while, but they were ready for the Wayne Gala. Adrien slung am arm over her shoulder.
“You’ve outdone yourself again, Princess,” he praised, grinning at the array of coveted outfits they were about to transport. “But one teensy weeny, tiny little thing.”
“What is it, Chaton?”
Adrien grinned. “Do you have a dress for yourself? Bruce invited you, too, didn’t he?”
Marinette’s face drained of color, right as a knock sounded on the door. Adrien, seeing as Marinette was so far into Panic Mode that she could not be reached at the moment, went to open the door. A second later, plastic was all Marinette could see. Blinking, she raised her head.
It was Cass, holding out a pink garment bag with Marinette’s name on it.
“Thought you would forget,” was all the other woman offered as explanation. Marinette, after gaping for a moment, slowly took the bag from her. Cass smirked. “Present from WE.”
Marinette laughed.
“You guys are the best.”

Chapter 1
Flights to California always took an extra toll on the team. Reid had explained it once, in a too long ramble, how the wind worked against the plane lengthening the flight at least an hour longer than the trip back home.
Hotch was finding it difficult to focus on the files in front of him. The first photo he opened was of victim #3, with her eyes closed and face turned to the side, even Hotch could’ve been fooled that it was you lying there dead. While the rest of the team was mulling over the facts of the case, he was debating whether or not to tell the team about your history. The Unit Chief in him knew this was important information that had the potential to hinder the case; his relationship to you was too personal and his withholding of information could even turn him into a suspect. If the roles had been reversed with another member of the team, he’d have concerns over their ability to even be on the case. For now, Hotch forced himself to tune into the conversation the rest of the team was having; promising himself he’d figure out what to do later.
“Garcia, what do we know about L/N,” Emily asked, turning ever so slightly towards the screen Garcia had just popped up on.
“I’m glad you asked my dear Emily. Y/N L/N is totally Hollywood’s It Girl right now, it’s rumored you can’t even get a meeting with her without forking over at least twenty big ones. She’s never had a bad role in her career. Personally, my favorite movie she starred in was Mamma Mia, but like I said never a bad role,” Garcia paused for a moment, the sound of her typing filling the silence, “is it inappropriate for me to ask one of you to get her signature for-”
“Garcia,” Rossi interjected, “anything else we need to know about her right now?”
“Sorry sir, I promise to be on my best professional behavior. But come on, remember when she swept the Oscars three years-”
Hotch felt himself detach from the conversation yet again, staring out the window as memories of the two of you flooded his brain.
Three Years Ago
The team had just finished a grueling case in Georgia. It was long, taking nearly two weeks to catch the unsub, in which he had managed to murder three additional couples right under their noses. Inclement weather forced them to stay another night until the storm passed, leaving them all stranded by the airport. In a turnaround way, being stuck gave them the rare opportunity to relax and bond as a team. Rather than all disappear to their own rooms for the night, they all packed into one small hotel room. Boxes of Chinese takeout were littered around the room, along with various bottles of alcohol. The Oscars were on that night and Hotch knew you’d be on the screen at some point, not wanting to miss it he proposed watching it to the team and they all happily agreed. While it was difficult with their schedules to be avid movie goers, they all were relatively familiar with the contenders for big awards such as Best Picture and Best Actor.
You were nominated for two separate awards that night, along with starring in a film nominated for Best Picture. It had been a monumental year for you, with three separate feature films hitting theaters and all becoming major successes both financially and socially. You had spent so much time jet setting for press conferences and movie tours that you rivaled Aaron in terms of suitcase living.
“Everyone shut up! They’re about to do Best Supporting Actress, oh I just know it’s going to be Y/N. Emily agree with me! We saw her in Little Women together, I cried. Oh don’t give me that look Emily, you cried too and you know it!” Penelope said enthusiastically, waving her chopsticks around. It was rare that Garcia ever came with on a case, but the location had been in a remote part of the state and they wanted to avoid being unable to reach her and her technical wizardry; a fact she was particularly grateful for, had this watch party been happening without her, she would’ve been so jealous.
To anyone else, the grin on Hotch’s face would have been easily equated to the bickering going on between his friends and the effects of the few drinks he had thrown back. It was all for you though, he had caught glimpses of you on screen throughout the night and had snuck more than one glance at his phone to see the pictures of your outfit you’d sent him yourself. When the presenters walked on stage, Hotch sat up a bit straighter, his body naturally inching closer to the edge of his seat. The screen set up so the faces of all nominees and their reactions could be seen, Hotch’s eyes glued to the box you were in.
“And the winner of Best Supporting Actress goes to…,” the first presenter started, slowly opening the envelope they held, “Y/N L/N!” The crowd roared and the camera focused in on you sitting stunned in your seat, surrounded by coworkers and friends. The team was cheering too, the liquor in their system loosening everyone up. Hotch clapping uncharacteristically loud and long even went unnoticed by the others.
“I was right, I knew it!! I should start betting on this, you know what I bet I could hack into the system-” Garcia’s voice barely even registered in Hotch’s brain as he watched you. With one hand clasped over your mouth and the other holding your dress you made your way up the stairs and to the center of the stage.
“Wow,” you started, eyes wide as you stared down at the award in your hands, slowly you looked back up into the crowd and continued, “I really mean it when I say I wasn’t expecting this. I didn’t even prepare a speech, I’m so sorry,” you paused again, the biggest smile plastered on your face as you quickly wiped a few tears threatening to fall, “thank you all so much, for supporting me and letting me do what I love. Thank you to my fellow coworkers who pushed me in this project and thank you so much to the fans who give me the strength to do this every day. Thank you! Thank you so much!” You ended, making your way back towards your seat. Hotch grinned as you flashed a wide smile to the camera following you, throwing a flirty winky that he knew was just for him.
The rest of the night went by in a blur. When you won again for Best Actress, you were barely able to contain yourself on stage, tears flowing freely down your face as you gave your thanks. The joy you felt in that moment was unlike anything you’d ever experienced in your life. At just 24, you had become the first person ever to win both awards in the same night. Hotch had actually jumped out of his seat at your second win, a motion that confused the rest of the team, but the liquor in everyone’s system forced them to ignore it; more glad than anything to see Hotch loosening up for once.
After the team finally retreated into their own rooms for the night, Hotch wasted no time in texting you, asking if you were free to talk on the phone. His excitement palpable when not even a minute later your contact came up on the screen.
“Aaron,” your excited voice came through the phone, just being able to hear you eased tension he wasn’t even aware he had been carrying, “can you believe it!”
“Congratulations, Miss Double Oscar winner.” Even after a year of being together, his voice made you giddy. “Where are you?” He asked, unable to ignore the pounding sound of music and people in the background.
“After party, top secret location Mr. Agent. I’m in the bathroom! Am I allowed to tell you I definitely see some residue of a line on the counter,” your voice was slurred and rushed, the energy of the moment combined with the liquor in your system causing your mouth to move faster than your brain, “probably not, ignore that. Where are you?”
Aaron relayed various info about closing the case and what the team had gotten up to that night. When you began telling him about your night, he couldn’t help but feel insecure. Where he told you about $8 takeout meals and rural Georgia, you were talking about some of the biggest names in Hollywood and the luxury treatment you’d been subject to all night. He forced himself to focus on your voice anyway; not wanting to take this time ‘with’ you for granted. The two of you could’ve talked for hours, had it not been for Hotch pushing you to go enjoy the celebrations.
“I’m so proud of you angel,” he said softly, voice swelling with adoration, “I’ll see you soon, I promise.”
“I love you Aaron.”
“I love you too Y/N.”
When he finally hung up, he leaned against the wall with a sigh, running his hands through his hair. Relationship wise, it had been a tough year for the two of you. With your schedule busier than you’d ever expected, it meant seeing each other in person was nearly impossible. In good conscience you refused to take him away from Jack on the rare weekends he had off. Instead you’d fly in whenever possible, the two of you spending low profile nights together in fancy hotels or his house if Jack was away with friends. It was excruciating maintaining a relationship like this, but something about the success of the night made the sacrifices feel worth it.
Present Day
“Look into her dating history, any exes that would want to hurt her?” JJ asked, her question pulling Hotch back into the present. Adjusting to the constant publicity you were subject to had been a learning curve for Hotch, the first time the tabloids ran a story of you photographed with some Hollywood Hunk his bad mood had the entire team walking on eggshells for a week.
“According to my search she hasn’t dated anyone in years, or at least not publicly. I have a theory she’s secretly dating Henry Ca-.” Hotch zoned back out before Garcia could finish, having no interest in hearing or seeing whoever the media was speculating to be involved with you this time. Willing the plane to land faster, he ignored the faint voice in the back of his head that was telling him you were free to be with whoever you wanted.
----
“If you’d follow me Miss L/N, the BAU has set up in the back conference room, they’ve been waiting for you.” Officer Reynolds said, her back to you as you followed her down the hallway. It was nearly 9am and you had spent the better half of the morning hyping yourself up to see Aaron for the first time in nearly two years. You made last second adjustments to your outfit; an outfit you definitely hadn’t spent all of last night picking out because you definitely did not want to look good for Aaron Hotchner. As Officer Reynolds moved to open the door you held your breath, thanking the years of experience in manipulating your outward expressions. When four heads turned in unison to look at you, you let out a sigh of relief. Aaron wasn’t in the room.
“This is Y/N L/N. Miss L/N, meet the BAU,” Officer Reynolds said, extending her arm outwards towards the rest of the room, “I’ll leave you guys to do introductions, if you need anything, find me,” and with that she exited the room. A blonde woman stepped forward first, extending her hand out to you. You knew who she was before she even said her name.
“My name is Jennifer Jareau, I’m the media liaison with the BAU.” She said, she gave you the same smile all the other officers had been giving you, but unlike theirs that reeked of pity, something in Jennifer’s felt authentic to you. After shaking hands with her, the rest of the room took a moment to introduce themselves. You never thought you’d meet Aaron’s team like this. Over the years, he had shown you countless photos of the team, along with hundreds of stories and tidbits concerning their lives. Even though you knew they had probably spent the entire flight to LA looking at your life, it still felt as if you had some creepy advantage over the situation.
“The rest of our team, Agents Hotchner and Morgan, are currently doing some research in the field, but until they return we’d love to brief you and ask you a few questions, is that alright?” JJ asked, stepping backwards and motioning for you to take a seat at the round table.
“Of course,” you quickly replied, moving to take a seat; internally you were laughing at the irony of her asking if it was alright, what would you do, say no? Looking up at the other three members still standing you motioned for them to sit as well, “I don’t know if you’re doing it on purpose, but I’d prefer if you all sat down too,” you paused, before adding, “kinda makes me feel like I’m back at school.” They seemed to smile at that, everyone else moving to find a seat at the table. Before the silence could turn uncomfortable, JJ spoke up again.
“Does anyone else in your life know about the murders?”
You shook your head no before replying, “my agent knows just in case I have to go underground and my security guard is aware, but besides them and the police, I haven’t told anyone.”
“Go underground?”
“Uh yea, a few years ago I had a stalker. I went ‘underground’ for about three months and the guy seemed to give up. The police have already cleared him, he hasn’t been to LA in over a year,” you explained.
“That’s good to know. We want to keep your involvement in the case completely out of the media. I can only imagine you want that too,” JJ started, angling her body towards you, “I know you’re probably more than well versed in dealing with the press, but if anyone comes up to you asking about the murders we want you to completely disengage. And of course, don’t tell anyone else about what’s going on.”
“Alright, now that that’s settled, we just have a couple questions for you,” Emily asked as she stood up, opening up a file from the table, “so what can you tell us about-”
----
The dump site wasn’t showing any promise. Situated near a highway, the field was hidden from the road, yet still accessible by car. The constant stir caused by the speeding cars meant any leftover DNA or footprints were effectively blown away.
“Our guy’s gotta be fit. The drop into the field is just steep enough he would’ve had to carry the body at least fifty feet to get it here from the road. He could’ve rolled it, but the bodies were too pristine to have been dropped on the ground like that.” Derek said, looking over at Hotch. The two of them were standing at the edge of the road, looking down at the now empty field. “Not only that, but this is a nice spot. Normally places like this so close to a highway are filled with trash, do you think he might’ve cleaned up?”
Hotch was silent as he considered this, before slowly nodding, “it’d make sense if he did. Everything we have concerning his treatment to the victims post mortem has been nothing but affectionate.”
“Do you think there could be two unsubs?” Derek asked, when Hotch looked at him with mild confusion he continued, “All the victims were strangled to death, ME report assumes it was by hand. It takes a lot of strength and persistence to kill someone by hand like that, not only that but it’s intimate, he’s staring them in the face as he kills them. The level of care displayed here seems way more than just remorse.”
Hotch took another moment to consider Derek’s proposition before shaking his head, “we’ll keep it in mind, but it’s clear whatever connection he has to L/N is personal, at least to him. These women could be failing to replicate some part of her personality and in his rage he kills them. But when they’re silent and unmoving, their likeness to L/N lets him fall back into the fantasy, hence the care.”
“We should start heading back, Reid just texted me they’re almost done with the initial briefing with L/N, and we should meet her before she takes off for the day.” Derek said, putting his phone back in his pocket before turning on his heel to head back to the car. Hotch’s shoulders tensed at the idea of seeing you, looking back at the field once more. Giving the field one last look, he felt a shiver run up his spine at the idea of finding you in a field like this. Shaking the idea out of his, he turned to join Derek in the car.
Hotch took the driver's seat, glad to be able to use the road as a needed distraction from the impending face to face. The drive was only twenty minutes, but Hotch didn’t think any time would truly be long enough to prepare himself to see you again. He found himself wondering if anything would be different from the last time he saw you. Did you still smell the same? You had always been quite adamant about your preference for scented lotion, rather than perfumes. What if you completely changed your hair? Were you worrying about seeing him as much as he was?
“You think she’s gonna be easy to work with?” Derek asked, breaking Hotch out of his mental spiral.
“What do you mean?”
“Y/N, you know, “Hollywood’s It Girl”,” Derek explained, “if she’s as in demand as Garcia said she was-”
“While we work this case Morgan, I expect you to conduct yourself appropriately,” Hotch interjected, his voice tight, “we treat Y/N the way we would anyone else, do I make myself clear?” His eyes not leaving the road at all, knuckles tight around the steering wheel.
“Crystal,” Derek responded, raising his hands up in mock surrender.
As they turned into the parking lot, Hotch scanned the parking lot before finally noticing your car parked in the back of the lot. You used to always park as far as you could, constantly complaining about how people in parking lots stressed you out and you wanted to be able to drive in and out as easy as possible. The corners of his lips turned up, ever so slightly, thinking maybe nothing had really changed for you, at least in that regard.
“You go ahead, I’m just going to send a message to Jack real quick,” Hotch lied, pulling his phone from his pocket. Derek nodded and got out of the car, quickly entering the building. Hotch put his phone down in his lap and gripped the steering wheel once more. You were one of the few people to ever wind him up this way; it had been like that from the first day he met you, as if you managed to make him melt under your gaze. Five minutes, he would give himself five minutes to pull himself together before letting the Unit Chief in him take over.
----
“I’m sorry, I just, can I take a break,” you asked, looking up at the agents who were still grilling you about facets of your life you never would’ve considered relevant, “I just need to get some air.” Without really waiting for permission, you were pushing back on your chair to stand up. Slinging on your thin jacket you exited the room, heading for the entrance of the building. The agents had been kind, but you were starting to feel a bit useless. Each time they had a new theory, you came up short in terms of material for them to actually use. They kept reassuring you that what you were able to come up with was helpful, but you weren't convinced.
You had been in and out of this office so many times, your body went into autopilot as you made your way to the entrance, not even pausing to look up as you started to push open the door. What you missed was the distinct outline of a body pulling the door open at the same time. The added force made you stumble, nearly crashing straight into the man on the other side. Brown eyes met yours and you both froze, uncertain of what to say before speaking at the same time.
“Y/N.”
“Agent.”

pairing: daisuke kanbe x fem!reader
warnings: not really any yet....
summary: the story of how and why daisuke kanbe fell in love with you. proving once again, that opposites attract
a/n: this is my first time posting my writing anywhere so I may or may not have panicked a little. there are probably some mistakes i didn’t fix, as i was rereading i kept overthinking things so i just said screw it (like how daisuke kinda comes off a little creepy but idk i swear i already have part 2 written and it gets better). oh and one other thing! i have never read the manga and i based his personality solely off of the first episode of the show, which might’ve been a bad move but we’ll see. please enjoy!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Daisuke Kanbe is known as a cold, collected(despite his reckless tendencies), intimidating man, which he is. What very little emotion he shows comes in the form of a cocky smirk or a challenging raise of his eyebrows, if even that. He likes it that way and he enjoys the fact that people perceive him this way.
People can’t stand not being able to read other’s faces or get a rise out of them. This just gives him yet another advantage while he’s working on cases in the field. Suspects and witnesses alike tend to crumble under his gaze, they can’t figure out what he’s thinking, they can’t call his bluff, and before you know it, words are spilling out of them.
It’s not like he doesn’t have any emotions, it’s just been so long since he’s experienced most of them. The adrenaline rush he gets from acting so reckless on the job is the closest thing to excitement or fear he’s felt in years. If it weren’t for those moments, life would be such a boring existence for a man like Daisuke.
All of this makes it a bit easier to understand why he fell in love with you. You were so different from him, you were warm, inviting, and all kinds of people were drawn to you. Normally, Daisuke couldn’t stand people like that, they gave him migraines. However, there was one thing that set you apart from the majority. The way you felt everything so intensely. You never tried to hide the way you were feeling, even if you could. Your face was easy to read, you didn’t hide behind a facade, anyone would describe you as an open book.
This is what made him gravitate towards you in the first place. He had never met anyone so open and unashamed of bearing their soul to the world. It almost made his head spin trying to understand how your mind worked.
At first he would just watch you more intently in the office, where you worked as a secretary. Then he would find himself thinking about you while he’s out in the field; his eyebrows would pull together ever-so-slightly in annoyance. He doesn’t want to think about the obnoxiously kind, headache-inducing enigma that is you. Though just two weeks later that’s all he seems to be able to think about, and he’s given up trying not to. His mind was filled with questions that needed answers.
There is only so much observing someone from afar can tell you about them. Having only spoken 15 words to you, at most, in the few weeks you had been working in the office, didn’t help much either. If he was gonna figure you out, he was gonna have to put in some effort. You’re so open with the people around you, so one conversation should be enough to satiate his curiosity, right? Wrong. It only made things worse for him.
It had been a quiet day, a few members of the staff had been let go early but you were still there and Daisuke sat lounging at his desk. He knew this would be the perfect time to strike. Not only was the office dead, but if you questioned his sudden curiosity in you, he could play if off as boredom. Just as he had made the decision, you were walking by his desk, lunch box in hand. Without hesitation, his arm juts out in front of you, blocking your path, and stopping you in your tracks. Your eyes widen a bit in surprise before you turn to him with your typical kind expression, tilting your head to the side in question.
“Daisuke? Everything alright?,” you asked in a sweet, curious tone.
When his gaze finally rose to meet yours, he had the same bored look on his face that he normally does, which took you some time to get used to. The first few days of working in the office you had assumed he didn’t like you, or that you had done something to upset him already. Those assumptions died when you realized that everyone in the office got the same treatment, but that didn’t stop Daisuke from noticing your face drop or the way you wouldn’t look him in the eye while talking to him during that time.
Things were different now though, you held eye contact and didn’t uncomfortably fidget while waiting for his response. He waited a few moments to answer, taking in your demeanor.
“Sit with me?” It was a question, technically, but it didn’t sound like one coming from him. He knew you wouldn’t say no, you were too amicable to do that.
He was right. You moved to sit in the seat only a few feet away, although not before pausing to give him a confused look then ultimately shrugging it off and joining him. You placed your lunch down on the desk in front of you and saw from the corner of your eye that he was just watching you as you unpacked your meal, not moving to do the same. You looked relaxed as you moved, but he could tell by the way you chewed at the inside of your cheek, and the way that your eyes darted around the desktop, that you were nervous.
So he’ll start by simply breaking the ice, casually asking “how are you liking your job so far?” You’d be a bit surprised that he asked, considering he doesn’t seem like the type of man to enjoy small talk, but you perk up anyway.
“I’m really enjoying it actually,” you tell him with a bright smile, “everyone is so nice, and it keeps me on my toes, so I’m never really bored.”
“You fit in well. Where did you work before you came here?” His eyes never leave your face, he doesn’t want to miss a single movement.
“I was a university hired tutor, my school offered me a position as a composition tutor so I could have a steady income while looking for a job I really wanted,” you explained, no hesitation in your response.
“And you wanted to be a secretary for a bunch of second rate detectives?” He tilted his head every so slightly, to watch and see if he had pressed any of your buttons.
Which he had, your eyebrows drew closer together and you shook your head, “well first, I don’t consider any of you to be second rate, and second no being a secretary isn’t my end goal, I’m not exactly sure what the right job for me is just yet,” you turned to him and shrugged, “I just know I want to be part of the team that keeps the people in this city safe.” Then you gave him a big smile and stuffed a bite of food into your mouth.
Daisuke wanted to know the reason behind that decision but he decided to dive into that rabbit hole at a later date. So he kept asking you things, nothing too personal at first, he was letting you get comfortable answering his questions without overthinking or hesitating. He had figured out pretty early on that you were a bit oblivious to certain things. Here you sat, happily talking Daisuke’s ear off while you enjoyed your lunch. Not once did you find it even a bit odd that he was asking you so many questions, but not once giving you the chance to ask your own or say anything about himself. Why was that so interesting and frustrating at the same time?
As time went on Daisuke started trying to dig a little deeper, asking you things a little more personal than your average lunch break would involve. This went unnoticed by you, but he had barely begun to scrape the surface when the phone on your desk rang across the room.
That was the end of his interrogation, work began to pick up, and Daisuke found himself feeling disappointed. He didn’t want to stop talking to you, even though it was more like listening to you speak while he hung onto every word.

Headcanon- Falling sleep on the couch with The Batboys+ Bruce
Bruce Wayne
-       Bruce is a cuddler. Specifically, he likes to spoon.
-       Most nights he prefers to be the big spoon, but on particularly tiring days or nights, he doesn’t mind being held.
-       The night before, Bruce had endured a particularly grueling patrol. He came in late and got four stitches.
-       Bruce barely slept through night and had to be woken up early for a meeting at WE.
-       Needless to say, he was not happy.
-       You helped him hide the dark circles and get him to look somewhat presentable before you tied his tie for him.
-       You knew he was exhausted when you saw him leave and just felt really sympathetic for the poor guy.
-       You texted him that he should come home and have a nap, but he never responded.
-       You worked on your computer on the couch in the living room for a few hours, until you heard Bruce’s voice over the sound in your headphones
-       You were about to get up when this man full-on FLOPPED on the couch. He looked like he was in no shape to do anything but sleep.
-       “How did the meeting go?”
-       He just mumbled incoherently but you didn’t bother asking again. You just tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention.
-       When he raised his head, you placed a cushion on your lap and motioned for him to lay down.
-       But he would rather sleep with your arms around him than with his head on your lap, so he sits up and pulls you into his embrace.
-       He rearranges the blanket that used to be draped over your legs to cover both of you and lays down on the couch with you in his arms.
-       Today was one of those extra-rough days so you give him a light kiss on the cheek and put your arms around him, hugging him tightly.
-       He slept like a baby. You took this time to admire how relaxed his face looked as he slept. No scowling or frowning and no cowl to hide his handsome features.
-       Hearing his heartbeat, you also found yourself dozing off.
-       When you woke up, it was 4:00 pm, and Bruce was still fast asleep. In fact, he was drooling ever so slightly, which made you laugh.
-       Deciding you still had work to do, you tried to remove your arms from his torso and tried to get off of the couch as quietly and as gently as you could.
-       But unfortunately, the man you were trying to slip away from was Batman, and even in his sleep, he seemed to pick up on your movements.
-       While trying to leave, you had felt a hand reach out and hold your wrist, and you turned to meet a sleepy, slightly grumpy but mostly baby-like Bruce.
-       “Don’t go yet.” He grumbled.
-       “Sweetie, I have to finish some work.”
-       “You can do it later,” before you tried to reason with him any further, he added a “please?” in the most loving, asking tone. *Sigh* He knows you can’t say no to him when he’s like this.
-       Defeatedly, you step closer to the couch, and find yourself being pulled into his chest, this time a little less gently.
-       As soon as you were in his arms, he wrapped them tight around you, as if he was holding onto you for dear life. He buried his head into the crook of your neck and breathed in deeply, taking in the scent of your shampoo and the perfume he got you for your birthday. He breathed out into your skin, making you giggle lightly at the sensation.
-       “Bruce...! That tickles.”
-       “I love you.”
-       “I love you too.” And with that, you nuzzled into his chest and closed your eyes once more, not caring much that you most likely would not fall asleep. You just liked being in his embrace.
-       Days like these never began well, but you loved them anyway, and if Bruce was being honest, he did too, because they would often end with sloppy love confessions and sleepy mumbles, and always with you beside him.
Dick Grayson
-       “We are not watching Avengers.”
-       “You’re only saying that because you cry every time you see Agent Coulson die.”
-       “No! I’m saying that because every time we watch it, you stare at Captain America’s butt!”
-       “Oh, come on! That’s America’s ass!” You managed through a fit of laughter.
-       He looked away and grumbled, “Mine’s better.”
-       “Aw, don’t be jealous,” you moved over the pillows scattered around to wrap your arms around his shoulders. “You and I both know yours is better.” You punctuated your sentence with a quick kiss to his temple.
-       With a smug look on his face, he put an arm around you. “Ok we can watch Avengers if you want but hear me out, Harry Potter.”
-       Your day had been positively awful. Someone spilled coffee on your clothes shortly before your boss walked in to give you three new assignments... with a one-week deadline. Ughhh!
-       You cleared your mind and made your way to a board meeting that ran longer than it should have, causing you to miss your lunch break.
-       You thought the pain was finally over when you headed toward your car, ready to go home, but unluckily for you, bad things happen to good people. Your car wouldn’t start.
-       When you popped the hood to see what was wrong, it began to drizzle. Ok, so things are looking pretty bleak, but I can work with this. You took out the jumper cables from your trunk and called a friend from the other end of the parking lot to help jumpstart the car.
-       You had texted dick that were experiencing car troubles and were going to be late. He offered to pick you up, but you declined saying it wasn’t anything too serious.
-       After thanking your friend, you drove home.
-       Upon entering your shared apartment with your boyfriend, you were welcomed by the scent of candles and what you thought was spaghetti sauce. Your eyes lit up at the sight of your boyfriend walking out of the kitchen with his iconic, lovable smile.
-       “You made dinner?”
-       “Mhmm.”
-       “Thank you!” You threw your arms around him in a fashion that nearly toppled the man over.
-       You were pleasantly surprised but also touched. You felt so lucky to have someone this amazing in your life. He always reminded you of everything good in the world and you figured your day could still turn up.
-       “Don’t thank me yet.” You looked at him questioningly.
-       With a cheeky grin, he turned you toward the living room. Oh, my goodness, it was so cute.
-       The living room couch was adorned with decorative cushions and blankets, right behind a center table set with candles, plates and cutlery.
-       “Did you really do all of this?”, you cried,
-       You could have cried right then and there, but instead turned to your boyfriend and said, “You are the sweetest, most amazing boyfriend in the whole world, and I love you so much!”
-       “I know I am.” You chucklled in response. “Why don’t you have a shower while I finish cooking, and then we can eat and watch a movie.”
-       “Sounds like a plan.” You replied and hopped in the shower.
-       You eventually decided on Harry Potter: The Chamber of Secrets. You finished dinner in the first twenty minutes and set your plates down on the table.
-       In between important scenes, you discussed each other’s days. His went pretty well, which you were happy to hear, but he looked nothing but sympathetic when he heard about yours. This made it a lot better though, and he knew from the way you were smiling and talking that you were feeling much better.
-       Dick had his arm around you, while you were leaning your head against his shoulder.
-       He could tell you were getting tired when you started to hug his waist and pull him closer to you. You had a habit of sleeping with an arm over his chest. It was practically instinctive at this point.
-       Dick looked over at you. Adorable, he thought. He could see you watched the screen so intently through closing eyes. Your head was slowly tilting down and resting itself on his chest.
-       Without a word, he pulled your shared blanket up to cover you both from the shoulders down. A sweet gesture.
-       “I don’t care how bad my day goes, if it ends like this.”
-       “I’m glad I could make your day better.”
-       “Sweetheart, you make every day better. I love you, Dick.”
-       “I love you too, Baby.”
-       You both surely fell asleep before the movie ended, but neither of you minded much. Falling asleep in each-other’s arms was far more than perfect.
Jason Todd
-       Jason Todd is a gentleman. One of few reminders that chivalry isn’t dead.
-       He was confident, and headstrong, but he was also compassionate. That’s what made you fall for him.
-       You were a member of the Outlaws and a good friend of Starfire’s.
-       After working with them on several occasions, you were invited to join the Outlaws and graciously accepted.
-       You got along with everyone on the team really well. You were best friends with Starfire, and Roy loved you like a sister.
-       Jason on the other hand, took some time to open up to you. When you first met, he was kind and funny but never close. Once you got to know him you understood why.
-       You shared your secrets with him, some laughter and soon enough, he did the same. You trusted each other a lot.
-       The late-night talks often led to you falling asleep tangled up on the floor or couch-and once, your bed- which Kori and Roy happily teased you both about.
-       You found yourself catching feelings, and you mistakenly thought you were the only one. Roy, however, caught onto Jason’s crush. More teasing ensued, more frequently and often in front of you, sometimes directed at you.
-       Jason realized there was no point in hiding his feelings anymore. He cared about you and when he was with you, he felt free. He felt a type of happiness he hadn’t felt in years.
-       You reminded him of every reason to be happy. So, he confessed.
-       You should have seen the smile on his face when you told him you liked him too.
-       Tonight was your first date and you were grinning from ear-to-ear. Jason was going to take you to a restaurant downtown and you were beyond excited!
-       He was too. For the first time in his life, he had to call Dick for... fashion advice.
-       “What’s the special occasion, Jaybird?”
-       “I’m going on a date. Stop ‘ooh-ing’, now what type of jacket do you wear to nice restaurant?”
-       He knocked on your door at 7:00 pm sharp. As much as you actually wanted to squeal and hop to the door, you breathed in and out and strolled over to the door after checking your reflection one last time.
-       “Hi.”
-       “Hi- wow. You look beautiful.”
-       “Thank you. You look really nice too.” You were hoping he wouldn’t notice the blush dancing across your face.
-       After dinner, Jason drove you home.
-       Your conversation in the car included a rant about capes being overrated and how Big hero 6 was outrageously underrated.
- You entered the apartment you shared with Roy and Kori.
-       “I don’t want this night to end yet.” You said.
-       “Maybe it doesn’t have to. Feel like ice cream?”
-       “Ice cream sounds great! I’ll just change first.”
-       You changed into a hoodie and pajamas and walked out into the living room to find Jason in sweatpants and a t-shirt, with a tub of ice cream and two spoons.
-       “You like strawberry, right?” you nodded and planted yourself next to him.
-       “Hey, Jay? You like Star Wars?”
-       “Yeah,” he managed through a mouth full of ice cream. “why?”
-       “Star Wars marathon is on HBO right now.”
-       “Let’s put it on!”
-       By the time you were watching the A New Hope, the tub of strawberry ice cream was nearly over.
-       At some point, Jason pulled a blanket over the two of you, and unknowingly, you huddled closer to him. You only realized how close you were when you felt his heartbeat against your own body.
-       “You want the last bite?” you asked.
-       “I’m good. You take it.”
-       “Thanks.” You finished the last of the ice cream and set the tub aside with the spoons. You turned back to face the screen and heard a breathy laugh from beside you. “What?”
-       “Nothing, doll,” his hand traveled to your face. “you just have a bit of ice cream right here.” He leaned ever so slightly and wiped the ice cream off of your lip and chin.
-       He looked up slightly and met your eyes. Neither of you moved or looked away. You were so close, and when he saw your eyes dart down at his lips and back up, he closed the remaining space between you and brushed his lips against yours.
-       The kiss was gentle and soft, yet passionate. You expected sparks but instead felt a warmth course through you. Like feeling the sun on your skin after a cold night.
-       When you pulled apart, the atmosphere was calm and tender. You smiled at him and he smiled back, putting arm around you and pulling you closer. You laid your head on his shoulder.
-       As the night went on, you felt your eyes flutter shut. Sleep overtook you somewhere along Return of The Jedi, and Jason, not wanting to disturb you, turned down the volume.
-       He admired the features of your sleeping face. He discovered that the way your face flushed while you slept was his favorite sight, and let his head fall back against the cushion.
-       With a quick kiss to your forehead, he drifted off with you in his arms.
-       BONUS:
-       “They actually look quite cute.” Kori stated cheerily.
-       “Is he drooling on her head?”
-       “Roy!”
-       “Kori, it is 9:00 am. I am hungry, and its Jason’s turn to make breakfast.”
-       “Alright, I’ll wake him but just one second.” She snapped a photo of you two on her phone and pocketed it. “Lovebirds, wakey, wakey...!”
-       “Yeah! It’s your turn to make eggs and bakey. Up!”
Tim Drake
-       It was 7:30 pm, Wednesday evening. That meant you had roughly 37 hours and a half before your exam. You know, the one that had you stressed out for a week?
-       You had done nothing but study in between your vigilante activities, skipping proper meals and pretty much running on coffee. You knew it wasn’t healthy, but you didn’t really know what else to do.
-       You hadn’t slept through the night in days and it was beginning to get to your boyfriend, Tim.
-       He didn’t mind having to delay dates here and there due to your schedule, however, he did mind seeing his girlfriend lose sleep and sanity over an exam he knew she would ace.
-       He knew you would get nervous when studying for this particular subject (let’s say it’s your least favorite subject) and happily volunteered to tutor you. It broke his heart to see you much you doubted yourself. You second-guessed everything you wrote down.
-       How can she not see how smart she is? He thought to himself. He saw your work and it was almost always correct.
-       He would shower you with positive affirmations and reassure you when he saw you hesitate.
-       One of the many things he loved about you was your astounding intellect. Unknowingly, you were a great problem solver with some of the best analytical thinking skills.
-       You made progress over the study session you had with him, yet you couldn’t help but worry. Anxiety began to eat at you.
-       That Wednesday evening, Tim had texted to ask you if you guys were still going to meet up for ice-cream, but you declined, stating that you were busy.
-       Not long after, you heard a knock at your door. That’s odd. I’m not expecting anyone.
-       Through the peephole, you saw Tim standing with his hands in the pockets of his jacket.
-       You opened the door. “Tim, what are you doing here?” you asked, genuinely confused.
-       He wore a deadpan expression. “I came to check on you. What are you up to?”, he said as he welcomed himself in.
-       “I texted you.”
-       “Yeah but, ‘Sorry. Can’t. I’m a bit busy.’ is not very descriptive. Not that I didn’t know what you were ‘busy’ doing.”
-       “I’m studying-”
-       “No, you’re working yourself to a burnout because you think you’re going to fail your test.” Tim knew you well enough, for long enough to see right through you.
-       “How is it wrong to not want to fail?” Your voice was shaky. He was right. You knew this was overkill but how else were you supposed to pass?
-       “You’re not going to fail, Y/N.”
-       “I will if I don’t study.”
-       “You won’t fail.”
-       “I’m not smart enough to get an A.”
-       “Yes, you are.” Tim insisted. He had an authoritative air about him, but somehow, the most soothing and gentle voice. He spoke as if he was comforting you, which was his intention as soon as he got you away from this mess of pens and paper.
-       “You’re just contradicting everything I’m saying with no reasoni- Ahh! What are you doing?!”
-       Tim threw you over his shoulder and began walking out towards the futon in your dorm.
-       “We’re taking a study break.”
-       “Tim! Put me down!” Despite your protests, he did not put you down.
-       Tim sat down and placed you on his lap facing him. His hands were on your waist and the small of your back.
-       You sat there, arms crossed, looking defeated and angry about it. Tim didn’t seem to mind though. As serious as the situation was, he couldn’t help but find your mannerisms endearing.
-       “Y/N honey?”
-       You didn’t respond.
-       “Please look at me.” His fingers reached out and lightly grazed your cheek. Then, you looked at him.
-       “You don’t understand, Tim. I- I’m not as good as anyone else in that class.” Your voice was breaking, the words came out breathy. “I don’t understand the work as quickly as everyone else. If I want to keep up with them, I have to do this.”
-       Tim saw your eyes gloss over and cupped your cheek in comfort. “Y/N, you don’t have to be as quick as everyone else to be smart.” Looking lovingly into your eyes, he continued, “You are one of the cleverest people I’ve met. I mean, how many of your classmates can strategize a battleplan while hopping from rooftop to rooftop?”
-       He wiped a tear away with his thumb and noticed the slight makings of a smile on your face. “You are also kind, insightful, understanding, strong, beautiful, and the best girlfriend anyone could ever have. Sweetheart, you’re so much more than you give yourself credit for.”
-       With the full makings of a smile on your face, you leaned into his body and laid you arms over his chest and shoulder. “Timmy, I’m still scared...”
-       “Of what?”
-       “I don’t know, I just really want to do well.”
-       “I don’t know what you’re afraid of. I’ve checked all of your work. It’s all correct.  You’re doing better than well.”
-       “Really?”
-       “Yeah, I told you were doing great a few days ago when we studied together. Remember? All of your work was right, even the stuff on your desk.”
-       He felt your sigh of relief against his skin and felt your body relax against his own. “Baby, when was the last time you slept?”
-       “I slept last night.”
-       “Not well, I see.” He chided. “You need to rest before anything else.”
-       “Funny how you of all people are lecturing me about sleep.” That elicited a scoff from him, and you chuckled lightly.
-       “Yeah, whatever. Time for bed, young lady.” He motioned for you to stand up. He got up alongside you and unfolded the futon, laying the pillows down at the top.
-       “After you.”
-       “Why, thank you.” You sat down, followed by Tim, who arrived with a blanket. He laid it down on you and slipped under it right after.
-       You reached out for him and hugged him. “Thank you. You’re really the best boyfriend ever.”
-       Hugging you back, he replied, “Well that’s because, you make me a better man every day.”
-       A few minutes had passed, and you felt your eyelids grow heavy. The warmth of Tim’s embrace helped too.
-       “You know I love you right?”
-       “Of course, I do. You know I love you too, right?”
-       “I do. I was just checking.” He stated.
-       He moved even closer to you and held you close as you both fell into a blissful sleep.
-       And a good thing too, because you both really needed it.
Damian Wayne
-       Damian is a total sweetheart. He cares very much about your feelings and is always there for you when you need him.
-       He’s not necessarily fond of spooning but he still loves to cuddle. When he sleeps, he wants you close to him or laying your head on his chest.
-       This guy loves to be your arm pillow.
-       Bruce had trained you since you were fourteen. He had you trained with Dick, Jason, Tim, and though he hesitated to, Damian.
-       Over the years of training with him, you grew close to each other. Now, he was your sparring buddy and boyfriend.
-       A few nights ago, you had taken a shallow stab wound around your side while on patrol. Although it was just a flesh wound, Bruce demanded you stay home for a few days to let the stitches heal.
-       You decided on manning the Batcomputer while the rest of the team patrolled the city and updating criminal files, just because you hated feeling useless.
-       One particular night, some work piled up. You had to update the files on the Rogues Gallery and narrow down suspects on a current case. You resorted to working in the manor library.
-       You were making steady progress, but it was now 12:30 am and you still had four files to update and every possible suspect for the current case had a solid alibi or didn’t seem to match with the evidence.
-       You were determined to get your work done but it was beyond difficult this time.
-       Unbeknownst to you, someone was walking down the west staircase. Their footsteps were light as a feather.
-       Damian was expecting you to be in your room when he went in there to wish you goodnight, but he found an empty bed and figured- for the third night in a row- you must have been working on a case. He decided to find you and take you up to bed.
-       He sees the lights on in the library and walks in to see you looking slightly disgruntled with papers fanned around the table and a laptop in front of you.
-       There’s no way I’m getting her to bed now, he thought. One of things he loved about you was your drive to succeed and your unyielding determination- which sometimes manifested as a stubbornness that could rival his own.
-       He knows asking you to go to sleep won’t work so he rationalizes that if he helps you finish this case sooner, you’ll get to bed. And heaven knows you need it.
-       “Hey,”
-       “Hi, I’m sorry, did I wake you?” you asked sincerely.
-       “No, but you weren’t in your room when I went to kiss you goodnight.” You looked at him apologetically but before you could explain, he continued, “I figured you’d be working late, so I’m here to help you.”
-       “You don’t have to, really. I don’t want to keep you up.” He just looked at you like you were crazy, and you took that as the only answer you would get. Still, you thought it was really sweet of him to come down here.
-       He takes some of your papers and sits on the couch next to the table. He takes little glances at you and corners of his mouth can’t help but curve up at your focused expression.
-       Later on, you move next to him on the couch to share the documents and find yourself getting more and more tired.
-       While Damian was reading through the information you had gathered, he felt something on his shoulder. He turns to the side to see you drifting off against his body, papers still in hand. He holds your head against his shoulder with one hand while taking the papers from yours with the other. “Y/N, I think you should rest for a while. We can pick where we left off when you wake up.” His tone was soft and clement.
-       The only response he got out of you was a sudden jump and a gasp.
-       Out of nowhere, the name of the culprit hits you like an epiphany and you jolted up. It all made sense! She’s the only one with the connections to Arkham and she went off the radar pretty recently.
-       After hurriedly filling in the culprit’s connections to the gathered evidence, you closed your laptop and set it aside along with the papers, and while you wanted to stand up and dance in victory, the best you could do was smile and lay back against the sofa.
-       You let all your weight fall back onto the cushions, effectively causing the couch to move back an inch, but you couldn’t care at the moment. You just breathed out, reveling in the joy of closing a case and finally being done with all of your work.
-       Damian simply chuckled at your antics and shook his head. “Case closed. Time for bed?” You nodded with your eyes closed.
-       Knowing you had no energy to walk up to you room, Damian moved the remaining papers onto the floor and gently pulled you up into his chest laid you down on top of him. You shifted slightly to a more comfortable position; Damian slept with his head rested on a cushion with one arm around you, while you lay your head in between his shoulder and chest. Your arms were wrapped around his torso and both of your legs tangled together clumsily.
-       For the first time in days, you felt truly relaxed. You didn’t have millions of thoughts roaming through your head, just one; how lucky you were to have this man by your side.
-       You tilted your head up and pressed a tender kiss to his cheek. He lovingly kissed your forehead. Happy to finally get his goodnight kiss, he laid back, ready to sleep.
-       “Goodnight, Y/N.
-       “Goodnight... Hey, Dami?”
-       “Hm?”
-       “Thanks for helping me.”
-       “You’re welcome, Love.”
-       “I love you.”
-       “I love you too.”

First Kisses (Haikyuu - pt. 1)
Title: First Kisses (Haikyuu - pt. 1)
Genre: fluff, tons of it
Pairing: Sugawara/Tsukishima/Yaku/Akaashi/Kunimi x reader (all separate)
Notes: Nothing too unusual, but I thought that I’d start the posting to get something on the page. Whether it gets read, we’ll find out, but I couldn’t help myself. Onto the cliche headcanons. (I may do more of these, but for the time being, this will only consist of my top five characters in the anime). Quick note: some of these may be longer than others.
Only a forewarning, but inspiration hit harder in certain areas, y’know.
Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6 Masterlist
Tumblr media
Sugawara Koushi
ok so
hear me out here, but I think that - for this to happen - it’d be with someone very shy.
someone that’s very shy and reserved while also remaining very aloof and observant
(maybe even a little sarcastic?)
like...he’d be attracted to their air, y’know?
as for the kiss...
the kiss itself would be done somewhere fairly private. and a little covered in shadow
someplace like the back row of a movie theater or the hidden corner of a cafe or restaurant. maybe even out in public when nobody’s outside (read: late night walk in the park)
like seriously, just imagine that, i swear-
ANYWAYS
the two of you would be holding hands, he’d be admiring you while you’re doing whatever you do
he thinks everything you do is adorable, and he can’t help but admire you
it’s only when you notice his googly eyes that you let him know that you know he was staring
he’d blush a little, but remain generally composed.
the quiet would be broken very suddenly by suga
“your so cute when you’re focused.”
little did you know, you were pouting.
he found that the most adorable.
he continued to watch you as you turned your eyes to the floor
oH BOY DID HIS HEART FLUTTER-
he couldn’t help himself.
time seemed to slow down as you looked up and he leaned in closer.
eventually, the two of you were staring into each others eyes
and once he peeked down for a millisecond, he kissed you
the kiss itself was very sweet, very gentle, but also had a slight bite to it?
(how am I supposed to explain this? does this even make any sense?)
as it got more passionate, he cupped your cheek with his hand as you gripped his shoulder lightly
as the two of you pulled away from each other, everything around you was a little blurry
even through the shadows, he could see that you were blushing a firetruck red
(little did he know, he was blushing the same color)
overall, the first kiss between you two would be very romantic and very sweet.
considering it’s suga, though, prepare for a little teasing and a tight hug afterwards.
Tumblr media
Tsukishima Kei
OK
THIS BOI I SWEAR-
it’s a well known fact that this beanpole is very obnoxious and snarky
so his s/o would be very much the same
maybe not as introverted, but very much sarcastic and witty
in order to last with this smartass, you’d have to be intelligent and have thick skin
good luck
otherwise, the kiss would most likely happen somewhere very private.
like his s/o’s room or his room, or when they’re home alone.
just somewhere very private and comfy
now here’s the thing-
i think the kiss itself would happen in the midst of a debate
something to throw the other off, y’know?
sooo...
the TV is playing in the background, probably some movie with a huge plot hole
it annoys both of you, but the two of you have two different opinions of how the plot hole could be fixed.
like...
you’re claiming that the timeline could be fixed had they found a certain item before a different one
and he’s claiming that the timeline could be fixed without the inclusion of either item
a whole back-and-forth ensues
the kiss itself though
that happens when you are starting to hesitate with comebacks and reasoning
like-
you know you’re right, but he’s pressing your buttons so much
the timeline is heavily dependent on the items that you stand by, so
(though he won’t admit it, he knows that the items are beneficial to the plot, and he’s only doing this to see you get flustered and red)
since tsukki’s not backing down, you decide that you have to do something drastic
something that’ll make the smart mouth speechless
so you decide that the time is now
when he’s looking at you with that smug look on his face, his mouth just slightly opened and about to make some baseless remark
you lean in and kiss him
it’s very short, very light
but now that he is shocked, you’re happy.
except...
he regains his composure and tilts your head to meet him
he kisses you this time
this time, its very passionate, a little rough, and a little messy
but the both of you enjoy it very much
the two of you act like nothing happened, but it’s the little moments like that that make the two of you happy
and you two tend to kiss and get a little more clingy in private-
overall, very short and kind of sneaky.
there’s still love behind it, of course
but there’s no real ‘pause’ or slowing of time until the second kiss
Tumblr media
Yaku Morisuke
now-
i believe that this guy would be drawn to someone that’s very bubbly and energetic
not like yamamoto or lev, but very high-energy and outgoing
which also leads to the setting
A VOLLEYBALL GAME!
who tf would’ve guessed, oh my-
so like, the team is going up against a really powerful and notoriously defensive team
and while Nekoma is going HARD
they’re still behind
the sets were even and the odds did not seem to be in their favor
you’re in the stands, next to the mini yamamoto and lev’s sister
cheering loudly, helping lev’s sister understand the game a little better
anyway...
things are getting tough, and they call a time out
when Nekoma goes to their spot to discuss
you make eye contact with yaku
and you send him a thumbs up while mouthing ‘you got this!’
he sends you a big smile
and his upbeat mood almost completely lifts the slowly dengenerating one of the team
so when they are done elaborating a game plan following the slight loss of a flow
the members in play go onto the court rejuvenated.
with the new energy, they’re able to snag the lead
and, with a three-point difference, they win 25-22
a close call, but they’re excited nonetheless.
so are you and the girls that you were cheering with
as soon as they are finished lining up and people start to leave
you immediately run out of the gym and wait by the doors for your boyfriend and the team to come out
when they do, yaku comes out a little after the other team members
it’s your squeal that shocks him
the kiss happens when you jump onto him
(think something like the falling kiss between victor and yuuri from YOI)
kind of rough, slight teeth, but very romantic and passionate.
nothing bordering on lustful, but most definitely NOT shy
it would eventually mellow out to be more gentle and tame
the scene would lead to mixed reactions from the team, but
you can be sure that kuroo would have some smart remark, lev would have a dumb remark, and yamamoto would be fussing that he doesn’t have a girl
overall, while the kiss would be surprising and rough at first, it would calm down a lot
very romantic, very shocking, but also very memorable
ok but on another note, can something like this happen to me please-
Tumblr media
Akaashi Keiji
ok now
this guy would probably be drawn to someone very laidback
kind of chaotic (think quiet chaos)
and very outgoing
like, someone like beck from victorious?
oh god, it’s all coming back to me now-
not so flirty and borderline flighty, but they’d carry the same air that beck does
otherwise, the kiss would probably happen when the two of you are in a private area of something
like a friendly outing or something, and bokuto would be acting like a fool with kuroo or another team member
so like-
the two of you would be cuddled up next to each other silently
maybe like in a less-obvious area
someplace hidden
and you’d just be doing your own thing
playing on your phone, reading, maybe even studying with the pretty setter
either way, you’re absorbed in your work
just as much as he is
though he has been taking slight peeks at you while you were doing whatever
it was distracting him
and he was trying to read
just imagine him thinking
‘they’re so pretty when they’re focused’
you don’t realize that he’s staring at you, but you do eventually are made aware of someone looking at you
with this guy being how he is, he’d probably just keep looking if you made eye contact with him
you’d laugh, he’d turn a little red
ultimately, though, he’d lean forward despite the flustered reaction.
he’d pause in front of you, just watching your lips twitch up into a small smile
a little nod would be the unspoken allowance that he was asking for.
now.
THE KISS
HOO BOY
i imagine that this would be magical
like-
the sparks never leave even after a couple hours.
even then, the remaining sparks are like little fairies that won’t leave your side.
it’s slow, it’s soft, it’s romantic
it’s also not the most gentle, not the most experienced, not the most clean (for lack of a better word)
but it’s everything that either of you could’ve asked for
when the two of you pull away, you giggle a little
akaashi smiles a little
(you know the one!)
anyway, after the kiss
you two would be made aware of the people around you
like bokuto
who is screaming “YEAH! FINALLY!”
you full on bust out laughing and akaashi rolls his eyes
(he may appear bothered, but he finds it endearing)
he does keep a slightly tighter grip on you after that though
overall, his kiss, in my opinion would be the best
if not THE best, then ONE of the best (next to yaku’s oop-)
very smooth, but very inexperienced
while also remaining so unabashedly him, y’know?
Tumblr media
Kunimi Akira
now, i haven’t seen as much love for this guy
while i may be missing it or not looking in the right place, i thought i’d contribute to the kunimi train
ANYWAYY
i think he’d go for a bookworm
not necessarily quiet or loud, but very much to themselves.
someone whose shell would have to break
kunimi would probably be best friends with his s/o before he even thought of wanting to date them
and much like suga, i think that the first kiss would happen somewhere slightly private
by slightly private, i mean an area that couples would be plentiful
amusement parks, regular parks, you get it
either way, the area wouldn’t change the kind of kiss
since he is so quiet, i feel like he’d find a way to just relax with you
in a place that is ironically romantic (considering he doesn’t care too much)
that being said, i imagine that this would happen on the ferris wheel
cliche, i know, but just let me elaborate
it’d be getting dark, the two of you would have been at the amusement park with your friends
or maybe even upperclassmen
either way, you two have finally gotten a break from the personalities
and you just want time with each other
no talking, just calm and quiet
anyway, on your search to find something quiet to do
kunimi sees the ferris wheel and notices that the line isn’t very long
(perfect for him, seeing as his laziness is a factor written in the wiki-)
he directs your attention to it in a way that involves little words, and you agree to his suggestion
after a few minutes of waiting, you two get seated and just sit in silence
throughout the whole ride (up to this point), kunimi was looking at you
observing how the sunset makes you glow in the light
how the carnival lights reflect in your eyes
and he melts
you wouldn’t notice it since you are so absorbed in the view of the event
and he is absorbed in the view of you
now, here’s where things get odd
he wouldn’t know how to approach the thought of your first kiss when it crosses his mind
all he knew is that he refused to plan it, the idea struck him, and the timing was perfect.
so.
he just reaches for you hand, and when you turn to look at him
he quickly leans in and pecks your lips
short, sweet, but full of love
definitely leaves the both of you flustered, but
you two do end up scooting a little closer to you after it
and spend the rest of the night at each other’s hip
overall, the kiss is very quick
don’t let that fool you, though, especially with kunimi
the kiss is perfect coming from him, and wouldn’t be the slightest bit overwhelming
it’d leave for more calm atmosphere between the two of you

Tobirama with a trophy wife 😳🤣
When I saw this request I didn’t know what to feel or think at first, but the idea turned out to be so funny to me that I had to give it a try lmao
Anon I hope you don’t mind if it doesn’t come out exactly the way you imagined bc this is my first time writing this sort of thing and I really don’t know what I’m doing but anyways, here we have Tobi with a 🏆 wife
Fandom: Naruto | Tobirama Senju
Symbols: 💗 | 💜 | 💚
Tumblr media
Things were never that easy for you and your family: war, poverty and other unpleasing circumstances molded your ways in life
You were never given the chance to be romantic. For a poor girl who wasn’t a ninja, the safest way to achieve something in life was through marriage. And a man from an important clan was your goal
There were a good amount of single guys who fit these requirements around
It didn’t make your work easy, though: ninjas don’t have much time to think of building a family if they’re not the head of their clan, and if they are they would only choose someone on their level
Besides, there were those clans whose members were not allowed to marry outsiders like the Uchiha and the Hyugga
But, well, the Senju were around and were more “progressive” than their allies towards these matters
You didn’t even take a look at their head, Hashirama: man was clearly reserved to some princess from a good family
And tbh you wouldn’t spend an entire day by his side without being annoyed by his dramatic manners
However, he had a younger brother who seemed to have all the intelligence and seriousness that lacked in him and looked like a prince just like him
Tobirama was his name, and unlike the other Senju he was a real challenge
He was clever enough to see through people's intentions, focused enough on his work to ignore you as if you were part of the furniture and too grumpy to let himself being led by a girl as a simple minded man would do
All of this just made things more interesting for you
By that time, the clans’ compounds were always in need of people to work on them, performing tasks that were impossible (or unworthy) to be performed by shinobi
This meant endless space for female workers
You took your chance and applied to work on the head’s house
Unfortunately for you, there were other girls with the same mindset as you working there
The environment was always tense with silent competition: they came first and wouldn’t give up their place for nothing
You knew that the solution was to find a way to surpass them without using the same tactics as them, since they clearly didn’t work: the Senjus were still single and those girls were still servants
Observing them, you noticed they all acted the same way: they would fight for attention, but once they got it, they didn’t know what to do, an the men’s interest quickly disappeared
You would have to do the opposite
You were always gentle, showed good manners and kept your mouth shut for most of the time, just like expected from a servant
You were dedicated to your job as if you were there just for it
But during your free times you took some minutes to educate yourself sneaking through the library and reading the scrolls, most of them filled with poetry or historical content
However, you were careful not to keep yourself apart from the other girls, otherwise they would find out what you were doing. You made one or two friends just to keep up with everything
This plan of yours worked right at the first month… But with Hashirama
He somehow started to talk to you, pointing out how silent and “different” you were
You just smiled and pretended you knew nothing about being different
As the days passed, however, some sort of friendship grew between you two, and you were now assigned to work closer to him, who were always with his brother
Hashirama often talked to you as a good friend, even in Tobirama’s presence
You soon saw your chance there and watched your steps when Tobirama was around
Because of Hashirama’s influence, he started to talk directly to you as well. Most of the times he just asked you favors or gave you orders, but every interaction counted
One day, you thought the Senjus were not at home and went to the library to finish a reading you’ve started the past week
You were there for some minutes when the doors were suddenly opened and Tobirama came in
“What are you doing here?” was his natural first question
Well, Tobirama was not like his brother, so an excuse weren’t going to work on him. You told him the truth: you’ve been visiting the library to read during your free time, but you didn’t want anyone to know because you were afraid of being scolded
Tobirama said he was not going to scold you for wanting to read some scrolls and even gave you permission to keep visiting the library after work
Then you started to talk about the scroll’s content. It was your first informal conversation
You were not blind to his qualities: he was smart, observant, articulated... You were more and more convinced that having a man like that as your husband was an achievement like no other
Hashirama was the first to notice the change in your interactions and started talking in your favor to his brother
You were more than happy with this
One day, you were talking to Hashirama and managed to discreetly compliment his brother
Tobirama came at that right time and overheard the conversation
You quickly excused yourself and ran out from the place
From that moment, Hashirama gave you the support you didn’t request but welcomed anyway
One day, your hard work finally seemed to pay off: Tobirama came to you during your free time claiming that he wanted to discuss something important with you
You went to a private place that reminded you of a garden. Was that a good sign?
You were nervous but managed to discreetly ask him why you were there
The way he looked at you before answering sent chills down your spine
But then came his words
“You do not need to keep pretending, y/n. I know everything”
Oh. God. What were going to happen to you now? Were you going to be fired? Exposed? Killed?
Tobirama never seemed so scary to you before. But he must have noticed the fear in your face, because his next words were sort of assuring
“Do not be afraid. I did not bring you here to scold you. I brought you here to say that I admire your cleverness and courage to try such thing with one of us. Let me say that your plan would work with a man like my brother. But unfortunately for you, I am from a different kind”
Despite your goals and methods, you still saw yourself as an honest girl, so you just told him your whole story and the things that led you to such ways
You also confessed that as time passed and you observed him and his brother working together as a team and a family, some changes occurred in your vision of them
You were impressed with something you’ve never dreamed of experiencing yourself
Your heart was divided: you had to assure your own comfort in life, but at the same time you no longer wanted to act that way towards him and Hashirama
He didn’t make it clear if he believed you or not, but it didn’t matter, for his next measure was even more shocking
“Y/n, I will be honest with you. In a strange way, I like you. And I sense that this feeling can grow into attachment if I give room to it”
“What do you mean with give room to it, Tobirama-sama?”
“I want to say that this is exactly my intention. I brought you here to inform you that I am going to talk to my brother about our marriage”
You had to do your best to not pass out after hearing that
Despite knowing you didn’t love him and hearing your true intentions from your mouth, he was willing to make you his wife. Why?!
“But, Tobirama-sama… why? Why would you marry someone after all you just heard? Besides, you don’t even love me. I don’t understand… Nothing justifies such decision!”
His response was to approach you and whisper in your ear
“Consider this as part of your punishment”
The other day, you were sent to Hashirama’s presence (Tobirama was not there)
He congratulated you for your engagement and explained that from now on you will have to call him your brother, for you no longer were a servant, but his brother’s future wife
He then came to hug you with all his strength, leaving all his composure aside
Everything happened so fast that day that you felt like you were inside a dream: you were sent to a new room, with new clothes and everything you needed
One of your old colleagues were sent to take care of you, and the surprise (and envy) on her face was impossible to disguise
However, you couldn’t say that it was a perfect dream: you finally got what you wanted, yes, but this didn’t bring you the satisfaction it was supposed to bring
The next days, you felt strange in Tobirama’s presence, and you sensed that the more you felt like that, longer was the time he spent with you, acting as if everything was okay
You can say that after your marriage, your life in fact changed, but not exactly for the better
Unlike the period you worked as a servant, you had some comfort and a good amount of free time now, but you soon found out that it didn’t mean true happiness
At first, you thought Tobirama would be a terrible husband in each way possible, but to your surprise, this was not what happened
He was always polite with you whether in front of others or in particular, but you would never call that gentleness
When you were alone, he was almost always busy with his own stuff and you were left to do the same with yours, which was never enough to fill your free time, so you weren’t spared from moments of boredom and loneliness
(Besides, his working process while creating his jutsu was kinda scary to you, so you never got close to his office during these occasions)
In the occasional times he took you, he never hurt nor humiliated you, but neither he was as warm and passionate as you’d like him to be
Apart from that, there was no regular physical affection between you two: a kiss on your temple or a brief touch on your hand was everything you would gain
You finally understood that this is what he meant when he said he was going to “punish” you: you would reach your goal, but you’d never get rid of the sensation that something was missing in your life
As time passed, however, some genuine feeling seemed to grow between you. It was nothing like love, but some sort of partnership
When Tobirama went to the battlefield, you found yourself worried about the possibility of seeing him alive for the last time, and when he came back with serious injuries you never abandoned the room where he was treated
When you got pregnant and was going to give birth to your first child, you were scared, but he was there to assure you and to help with anything necessary
Yes, after a long time you learned your lesson and grew as a person
And he learned to see in you more than he first expected to see
Despite everything, you could say you built a good life as a family
And yes, it was true that you still couldn’t give yourself the luxury of being romantic
But maybe the love you managed to get for you was actually the kind of love that works for you

To Share an Armchair (Tom Holland x Actress!Reader)
Description:  You and Tom appear on Conan to promote your new movie together, Spider-Man: Homecoming.  Little do you know, Tom has a bit more planned than your usual run-of-the-mill interview.
Prequel to The Interview
Tumblr media
I took a deep, nervous breath, my hands wringing together as I looked out into the absolutely packed audience.
“You’ll be fine,” a warm, comforting presence appeared behind me.  I turned quickly to see my best friend, Tom, smiling down at me.  “They love you, and you love them.”
I smiled a bit.  He always seemed to know just what to say to make me feel better.
Tom and I had been working together since the filming of Captain America: Civil War, where I’d played another of Tony’s young recruits.  Now, with the new Spider-Man movie coming out, we were sent to advertise the release.  So, there we stood, on the set of Conan, ready give yet another interview.  Except, this time, we’d be promoting the movie by ourselves.  “I’m just not very used to going out there without an older cast member or producer or something,” I sighed.
“Just be your usual funny, witty, charming self, and I promise you that everything will turn out well,” Tom reassured me.
I nodded firmly in an effort to strengthen my resolve.  “Thanks, Tom.”
“Anytime, sweetcheeks,” he grinned.  I rolled my eyes playfully at the cheesy nickname that he had taken to calling me ever since our second week of filming, claiming that my ‘cheeks were too sweet to be called anything else.’
“And now, please welcome Tom Holland and (Y/N) (L/N) to the stage!” Conan shouted.  Tom walked out, and I quickly followed.  The lights were practically blinding, and my ears were ringing from the very, very loud cheers.  I shook off my fears and muscled my way past the almost overwhelming scene to grin and wave with both hands to the audience before moving to take my seat.
The only armchair available was already occupied by a certain web slinger.  I pouted and crossed my arms.  “I was going to sit there!”
“Well, I’m already here.  Sorry, sweetcheeks,” Tom smirked up at me, settling further into the very comfortable looking chair.
I frowned.  “Aw, c’mon, Tommy!  Pleeeease?” I tilted my chin down and sent him my best puppy dogs.
Tom shook his head.  “Hey, you can sit anywhere you want, but I’m not moving.”
My lips immediately quirked upwards.  “Ok!” I quickly responded before plopping myself down sideways across Tom’s lap with my legs hanging over the other armrest.  His hands reflexively went to my waist in an effort to stabilize me.  Tom stared at me in shock, and I just grinned back triumphantly.
I turned to look at Conan, who was watching the whole ordeal go down with an amused smile.  “Hi, Conan,” I grinned.
The tall man chuckled.  “Hi, (Y/N).”
I had to flip my head upside down to look at Andy, as the armrest that my back was leaning against was the one facing him.  “Nothing personal, I just really wanted the chair.”
Andy scoffed in fake hurt.  “Yeah, sure.  Just pretend you’re not repulsed by me.”
“Well, I am a pretty good actress,” I shrugged, pretending to think it over.
Conan barked out a laugh, and I grinned, straightening back up and settling further into Tom’s lap.  “So I guess (ship name) is real?” Conan chuckled, wiggling his eyebrows.
My face went bright red, and I scoffed.  “Yeah, just about as real as Candy,” I bit back in an attempt to misdirect from my extreme embarrassment.
Conan laughed his big belly laugh again.  “No, (Y/N)’s just unbelievably stubborn is all,” Tom added with a slight shake of his head.
“I’ve heard a few rumors, though, about the two of you,” Conan continued.  “A lot of people are talking about a recent incident involving gymnastics?”
I groaned and hid my face in Tom’s chest.  “Yeah, she was just so graceful,” Tom chuckled.
I hit his arm with a pout.  “Oh, shut up.  It really hurt, ok?”
Tom grinned and turned to Conan.  “You see, we’ve had a wager going on for quite a while over who was the better actor.  So, when we got off set early one day, we decided to prove it once and for all.  We each invented a character for the other to play.  I was supposed to be a foul-tempered, incredibly avid fan of some sort of predatory bird--”
“The eagles, Tom,” I rolled my eyes.  “You were playing a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles.  Anyways, Tommy here had decided to make me a world class gymnast.  You know, because I’m so experienced.”
“Whoever was revealed to be lying about their identity first would lose the bet,” Tom continued.  “And he or she would have to do one thing the other asked, no matter what it was.”
“It didn’t go very well,” I sighed, cringing slightly at the memory.  “And I still maintain that I won, by the way!”
Tom shook his head.  “Not a chance, sweetcheeks.  You see, we were talking to a wonderful young lady on the street when I noticed (Y/N) getting a bit excited.  Turns out, she’d noticed a Philadelphia sticker on the woman’s bag.  So she started raving about how much I loved the Eagles and all of the Philadelphia teams.  Naturally, I began talking of her supposed experience in gymnastics.  The woman was rather impressed and asked if she could see her do a flip.”
“Meanwhile, I can’t do any sort of gymnastics to save my life,” I scoffed.  “So instead of flipping, I asked Tom what sport the Eagles play.”  The audience laughed a bit.  “He couldn’t respond, and voila!  I win!”
“Not quite,” Tom chuckled.  “That woman didn’t say a word until you tried to do a flip and landed directly on your bum.  She caught you first, pointing out that you weren’t a gymnast.  Only afterwards did she say I had no idea where Philadelphia even was.”
I frowned.  “Yeah, but she knew you were faking it first.”
“Those weren’t the rules, sweetcheeks,” Tom grinned.  I rolled my eyes.
I’d barely taken notice of the loud laughter until Conan spoke up again between chuckles.  “Here’s a clip from the new Spider-Man: Homecoming in theaters July 7, check it out!”
While the clip played, Tom grinned and poked me in the side.  “You know, I still get to ask you that favor.”
“Fine, I concede.  What do you want, Holland?” I rolled my eyes again.
“You’ll see in just a moment,” he answered, wiggling his eyebrows at me.
I snorted softly in an attempt not to laugh over the preview being played.  “What the heck was that?”
“I was being mysterious!” He defended.
“You looked like you’d lost all control over your facial muscles,” I smirked.
Tom frowned, but before he could reply, the lights came back on.  So instead, he turned to look at our host.  “Conan, before we go, can I ask a favor?”
Conan nodded.  Tom gently picked me up while he stood, placing me back in the seat.  He walked towards the edge of the stage.  I leaned over to Andy.  “Do you have any idea what’s going on?” I stage whispered.
“Yeah, but I’m not telling you.  You didn’t want to sit next to me,” Andy responded with a humph, crossing his arms.  I laughed at his antics.
Tom had returned by that point.  In his arms was the most adorable little creature I’d ever seen in my entire life.  “This is Firestar,” he said, holding up the absolutely precious chocolate lab puppy.  “She’s incredibly stubborn, so I thought you two might get along.”
“Tom, I can’t believe you!” I squealed, accepting the puppy without hesitation.  She immediately started trying to lick my face.
“Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to call in that favor you owe me.”  I glanced up at him suspiciously.  Tom just smiled.  “Go with me to the premier?  As my date?” Tom stood before me nervously, his cheeks bright red, while he anticipated my answer.
My eyes widened, and my breath caught in my throat.  I couldn’t believe he’d actually just asked me out.  Of course I had fantasized about this, but I never actually thought it would happen.
“Say yes!” I random shout from somewhere in the crowd startled me out of my trance.
My face broke out into a huge grin, and I nodded quickly.  “Of course I’ll go with you, you big dummy!” I said, hiding my immense excitement behind the small joke.
Tom’s nervousness melted into happiness, and he rushed forward to hug me, taking care not to crush the puppy between us.
“Tom Holland and (Y/N) (L/N), everybody!” Conan shouted above the cheers.  “Now officially (ship name)!” The cheers and screams got even louder, and I laughed, almost having to cover my ears.  We were both soon ushered off the stage to make way for whoever was next to appear on the show.
When we finally had a minute to breath, I turned to Tom.  “I can’t believe you got me a puppy,” I laughed.  My smiled was still plastered to my face, and I had a feeling it wasn’t going away anytime soon.
“Everyone gets flowers,” Tom shrugged.  I laughed and shook my head.  “So there is one other thing I need to know before we can go on a date.”
My brow furrowed slightly, and my smile wavered.  “What is it?” I asked warily.
“What color is your dress?  I have to know what I’m matching my tie to.”
I pursed my lips in pretend anger, despite the smile that still managed to peak through.  “You jerk, you really had my scared!” I hit his arm.
“Ow!” Tom complained.  He grabbed my hand as it was gearing up to hit him again and pulled me into another hug, still softly chuckling my hair.  I grinned and cradled my new puppy to my chest, who’d already fallen asleep after all the excitement.  I was going to go on a date with Tom Holland.  Maybe I’ll even get to be his girlfriend!

You meet the team
Description: You have dinner at Rossi’s house so you can meet Spencer’s friends and team members
Rating: Teen, maybe even general
Warnings: None
Spencer put the car in park as he pulled into the driveway of her house. She usually drove to his apartment when they were going to spend time together, but this time he was going to drive her to Rossi's house. Rossi was planning on cooking dinner that night, and the team was finally going to get to meet her.
He'd asked her if it was okay with her and she'd given him a bright smile. "Of course I want to meet your friends," she'd said. "They're an important part of your life."
He'd warned her about Derek maybe teasing and flirting with her and that she shouldn't take it seriously. He'd back off if it made her uncomfortable at all.
He'd also given her brief descriptions of the rest of his team members so she would know what to expect. She'd been really open to meeting them and he had been relieved even if he did have a few misgivings about bringing her into the fold.
Now here he was walking up to her door and knocking on it. When she opened the door, his breath caught for a few seconds. She was wearing a black shirt, long-sleeved, tight but not provocatively so, and a black-and-white checkered skirt that stopped just above her knees. Her choice of shoes were black flats.
He must've stared too long or taken too long to respond because her face fell a little.
"Is this too much?" she asked, gesturing to her outfit.
"What? No!" He smiled shyly and said, "You just look really . . . beautiful. You look beautiful."
It was her turn to give a shy smile. "Thank you. I – I wasn't sure what to wear, so I decided nice but not fancy."
"Garcia will probably be wearing a skirt, so you're fine."
Spencer watched her close and lock the door and then they walked to his car. He stopped walking when they reached it, and she turned to him, question in her eyes.
"Uh, I don't usually drive girls around."
"Okay. I – I know you prefer walking when you can."
He sighed. "Are you – are you the kind of girl who wants a guy to open the door or are you the kind who would get offended if I open the door for you?"
"That depends. If you opened the door for me, would it be because you're babying me in any way?"
"What? No! I just – I'm old-fashioned, so –"
"Spencer," she cut him off. "I'm teasing you. You can open the car door for me. It's nice. However, I open my own door getting out because I'm too impatient to wait for someone to open it for me."
"Duly noted."
Once they were in the car, it didn't take long for Spencer to get going. He didn't have music playing while he was driving because he didn't want to get distracted, but he didn't mind when she started talking to him.
"Where did you get this car?" she asked. "It's from the 60s, isn't it?"
"Mid-60s, yes. I like the older models better. This is probably the only thing I've ever outright splurged on."
"Well, you said you were old-fashioned." She grew serious after that and said, "Spencer?"
He couldn't look at her because he was driving, but he let her know he was listening.
"There's something you should know before we get to the house."
"Okay."
"Sometimes I have a very short socialization meter. It's worse if I'm in a loud place, which is why I asked for us not to meet at a bar or a club. I can usually do a couple hours at a time and then I kind of start zoning out. I just wanted to warn you because you've never seen me that way before, because it's usually just you and me and I don't feel drained with you at all, but if I'm in groups sometimes I do get that way. I didn't want you to think I'm rude or that I don't like your friends if I suddenly stop talking as much. I'm still there mentally, I just don't contribute as much once my introvert meter is full. How long that takes depends on what kind of day I've had."
It was true that Spencer had never seen her when her 'introvert meter' was full, but he had noticed before that certain things seemed to get to her. She didn't like loud noises, especially if they were sudden. Sometimes her shoulders would draw up towards her ears if a car with a loud motor went by, and don't even get her started on motorcycles or people going by with the bass pumping in their cars.
He'd also noticed that she couldn't stand to be in bright places. She had even told him once that if it was too bright outside, the place behind her eyes would start to hurt and she would get a headache. She loved overcast days because she could go out without sunglasses.
Spencer never told her, but what she kept experiencing was a form of sensory overload. She never got irritated with anyone as some people did when they experienced it, but she did become agitated in her movements. She would start bouncing her knee up and down or she would start picking at her fingernails.
"Sometimes I have bad days too," he admitted quietly. It wasn't really something he liked talking about, but she'd been open with him. He felt he owed it to her to be the same. "With the noise and the lights. I get migraines sometimes. Sometimes the activity around me gets to me too."
He heard her let out a little laugh.
"We chose the wrong professions. We don't like commotion but you became an agent with the FBI and I chose to work at a school and a youth center. We have nothing but commotion."
"To be fair, it's probably because we deal with commotion at work that we don't want it in our lives outside of it."
"I never thought of it that way," she admitted. "Makes sense."
They kept the conversation light for the rest of the way to Rossi's house. He laughed at her expression of awe when he pulled into the driveway.
"The FBI doesn't pay this well," she exclaimed.
"I told you he was an author."
"Not all authors are paid this well either."
"You're not wrong."
They walked up to the front door together. Spencer noticed that his team members cars were already there, so they were the last to arrive, which didn't surprise him at all.
JJ was the one who opened the door when he rang the doorbell. She was all motherly warmth and bright smiles and the woman beside him seemed to take to JJ immediately.
They made their way to the kitchen, where Rossi was already cooking. The spent the first thirty minutes in there talking and getting a feel for each other.
Spencer could tell that she really liked Rossi – he had a warmth about him too, like a grandfather who likes to dote on his grandchildren – and she got along with Emily really well. She didn't seem to know how to take Hotch, which Spencer understood. Hotch could seem aloof to people who didn't know him well. She seemed overwhelmed by how excitable Garcia could get, but she was able to find things in common with her as well. Morgan behaved himself, flirted only slightly, and she seemed okay with that too.
Unlike Garcia and Morgan, the rest of the team hadn't felt the need to look his new friend up, so they were learning about her the normal way – by asking her questions.
Spencer even learned a few new things about her – mostly about her family. He hadn't asked her much about that area of her life because he wasn't really ready to tell her about his yet.
She was really close to her mom, but her grandmother had been her primary caregiver growing up. She'd picked up her love of reading from her grandmother, who had read to her as a child. She wasn't really close to her dad or her brother, but they were still a part of her life.
"Reid says you run a youth center," Morgan said. "Is that hard to do while working full-time at a school?"
"Not really. I have friends who help a lot during school hours, but most of the time it's not busy until after school. I'm mostly in charge of the paperwork part of the place, anyway. Making sure thing run smoothly."
"What kind of things do the kids get to do there?"
"Well, there's a quiet room for the ones who want to do their work or for the ones who need help with school work. There's a game room where they can play video games or pick out a movie, play pool, things like that. There's a small gym, a workout room . . . picnic area outside."
"Okay, even I didn't know it had all that," Spencer admitted.
She shrugged, but he could tell she liked talking about it. "I kind of wanted it to appeal to everyone."
"Ever had any trouble with the kids?" JJ asked.
"Not really. I mean, a few arguments here and there over little things, but nothing major. We have adults in each room, so they're supervised wherever the are. We don't have doors just as a safety precaution, for them and for us. Even though they're my friends and I trust them, there have to be at least two adults present in each room. No one adult is allowed alone with the children at any time."
"Smart," Morgan said.
"I try to be," she quipped. "Then we have the cameras spaced throughout the inside and definitely outside in the play area. With the way things happen today, I really just wanted to take every precaution I could think of."
During dinner, the conversation was more even-sided. She got to learn more about his friends and what she had in common with them. She and Garcia loved animal videos; she was a cat person like Emily; she had a maternal streak to match JJ's. She had less in common with the others.
She still didn't seem to know how to take Hotch, but she had no problem conversing with him. She was even more open with Rossi. Derek kept the teasing light and innocent throughout dinner and she just went along with it, so Spencer assumed it wasn't bothering her. She didn't seem to only be tolerating it, at least.
It wasn't until after dinner when everyone was offered a drink that Spencer found out that she didn't drink alcohol. They'd never really been in a situation where they'd been offered it before, so he'd had no way of knowing until just then.
They were all seated, spaced out around the room, and Spencer smiled when she chose to sit beside him even though she could have chosen a chair to herself.
He got to see what she'd warned him about firsthand when she started to become less responsive after their third hour being there. It was almost time to go anyway, but he noticed her answers were shorter, less enthusiastic. He also noticed that even though she wasn't as talkative she still paid attention to the others. She didn't just withdraw into herself. Maybe she would if she'd had to do this a lot longer, though.
He'd never really touched her before aside from accidental brushes of fingers when they were at the library – he still had to hand her books sometimes – but he reached out to her this time, touched her on the arm to draw her attention to him. He raised his eyebrows in question when she looked at him and she gave him a small smile, moved slightly more into his touch, and then settled back into the cushion behind her.
They apparently didn't have to leave yet.
