Finally, I wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year <3
Pairing - Cruella x female!reader
Word count - 1.9k
Warnings - none
"I love you."
Everything seemed to stop for a moment when those three little words slipped from your lips. Cruella's wide-eyed gaze was what made you realize the gravity of what you had just said. The world in slow motion as you had once seen it, even if just for a split of a second, came back to normal, as you tried to ease your later words.
"Or at least I think I do-" you let out, now fidgeting with your fingers, "I've never felt like this for anyone else before." You explained, a nervous smile on your lips.
As you looked at Cruella, her surprised expression still plastered across her, oh so stunning face, your nervous system started to kick in, her lack of response making you believe that it wasn't the best of times to let this information loose.
"It's complicated." You let out after a minute pause.
Not being able to look at her after you've gotten yourself into this mess of a situation, as you understood that her lack in response probably meant that she didn't feel the same. You turned your back to her as your hands went to your hair, letting out a sigh while breathing out an "I shouldn't have said anything."
You felt as if the world was about to collapse, and it was all your fault. All because of these stupid feelings that you hadn't been able to contain. You dragged your hand over your face, letting your arms fall to your sides, trying desperately to find a way to walk towards the open window and leave, and hope for it to not look as awkward as you were imagining in your mind.
"After everything that I put you through?" You almost jumped at the sound of Cruella's voice. She finally had acknowledged the situation. "I was so awful to you." Cruella's words were low and sounded careful, almost as she was afraid she would break your little bubble if she spoke too loud.
"That's the past." You said, still with your back turned to her, afraid to move. "And to be fair, I was awful to you as well." Your words were soft and filled with a hint of humor, as a way to lighten the mood, but failing dismally.
"But still," Cruella said, you heard her move behind you, but still hadn't dared to turn around and look at her. "The only thing I do is hurt the people I love." Her voice still low held a ton load of sadness behind it. But that's not what you picked up from her response. You felt happiness fill your heart as you heard the word love, leave her lips.
Now with a tinge of hope, courage overtook you, and you finally turned to look at her, your voice almost betraying you as you asked, "You love me too?"
Cruella who was still sitting, but now with her elbows resting on her knees, looked up at you as if she wasn't aware of what she, herself, had said. Her gaze that was on you for just a split second, moved to the wall behind you as she tried to come up with a response.
"It doesn't matter." Was all she said, her gaze still not on you.
You, now hopeful, wouldn't let her get away with this, not now, not after you thought you screwed everything up, not after you found out she felt the same as you. You won't let this slip, not now when you've finally got your chance. "It does matter. It matters to me." You said, as your eyes were trying, almost begging, to find hers.
"It doesn't." Cruella let out, her eyes fixed on the wall behind you, her gaze unmoving. Until. Until she looked directly at you and with an expressionless look, trying to not let her true emotions known, as she expected you to back down, said "Because nothing can happen between us."
You let out a laugh, a cynical one. One that left Cruella looking surprised, confused, and almost afraid that you had lost your mind. "That's rubbish." You said, scoffing, never once seizing eye contact. And as she didn't say anything you continued, "If I like you and you like me, what's the problem?" You asked frustrated, trying to understand what was her deal. Here you were, a troubling mess as you confessed your feelings to her, and she couldn't even tell you why she didn't want to be with you after she just admitted that she loved you.
She. Loved. You.
You still found it hard to believe. You hadn't had to opportunity to delve into it, to think about how happy that made you feel. But that can wait. All you want, for now, is for this to end well.
"Because I don't want to break your heart!"Cruella lost her temper and raised her voice, getting up abruptly, her hands falling into fists at her sides. She looked at you, breathing heavily, trying to calm down, as soon as she let herself set eyes on you and your wide eyes. "You once told me that you'd break Jaspers heart if something were to happen between you two." She said, her eyes starting to become glossy as she let out a deep sigh. "Well, in this case scenario, I'd be the one to break yours," Cruella confessed to you.
You were about to cut her off, to tell her she was wrong, and that she couldn't know anything about it if she didn't even give you guys a try. But Cruella was faster to speak up, saying "And I don't want anything bad to happen to you because of me, I can't bear myself to make anyone else suffer because of damage I've caused." Her voice cracked as the emotion was starting to get overwhelming. She blinked in an attempt to get her unshed tears to disappear.
You walked over towards the balcony railing and stared out at the city, not only to give Cruella a little time to compose herself, but for you to carefully think of what to say next, but the only words that made their way up to your lips were "Nothing's gonna happen to me." You sniffed as your hand went up to the lone tear that made its way down your right cheek. This whole situation was overwhelming, but that lone tear was caused by the thought of Cruella not wanting to put you into danger. Cruella cared about you. She cared about you, and that was all that mattered at that moment.
You heard Cruella scoff on your left, and you looked over at her. "It won't. I know it won't." You repeated reassuringly, this time your words came out with determination, and faith, making Cruella look over at you as she sensed your confidence. Her eyes narrowed and before she was able to ask you how you were so sure about that, you said, "Not when I know that you'll never let anything happen, not to me, nor Jasper, Horace, or Artie even."
Cruella held your gaze for a moment, her eyes softening after she heard you say those words so confidently that made her believe that she indeed would be able to protect all of you, not letting anything harm you in any way possible, not after everything. She admired your faith- The faith that you had in her. And that's why she loved you, because of your hopeful, and optimistic self even if a bit straightforward and so headstrong that irritated her, in a good way. "It's unbelievable the amount of faith you have in me, after everything that happened," Cruella admitted to you.
You smiled at her, sensing that the air wasn't as heavy as before now. Taking a big breath, more as a sign of relief now, as you admitted while admiring her form," One thing that I can assure you is that I'll never lose faith in you, no matter what."
Cruella looked at you with the most sincere smile that you had ever seen from her, and this time, you were pleased by it, said smile was directed at you. But still, after this whole conversation, your mind wandered to the source of it all. You weren't sure where the situation between the both of you stood at the moment, and you wanted to make sure you both were on the same page.
"Cruella, I really, really like you, and I want you to know that I'll be here when you need me-" you started, contemplating how you should voice your thoughts in the best way possible. But after all, you wanted her to be comfortable around you even... even if you just stayed friends, "-even if you don't want anything to do with me." you dropped your gaze not being able to look at her, as you did not know what her response would be.
Cruella on the other hand was still admiring you, even more now than before. She walked closer to you as she said, her voice above a whisper, "I really like you too."
That made you look back up at her, as she came face to face with you, making your breath catch in your throat.
"Yeah you used to be a pain in my ass, but look at where we stand now." She chuckled slightly, letting you see that smile you sure loved, and would never be tired of.
Your voice almost betrayed you as you asked the next questions, "So what does this mean? Are you going to give this brat a chance?" you chuckled to try and hide the way your voice almost faltered.
Cruella got closer to you and you felt her hot breath in the cold London air hit your cheek, as your skin flushed and a shiver of excitement went down your spine, making it hard not to shiver, as she said "I most certainly will."
As you and Cruella locked gazes, your eyes going from her lips to her eyes and vice versa, the air around you started to feel insanely hot, as the cold air from the breeze hit the back of your neck. Cruella's hands made their way to the lapels of your blazer pulling you just the tiniest bit closer, slowly. Both you and Cruella started to lean in, your anticipation for this long-awaited moment started to kick in. It was finally happening. You felt her nose touch yours, her hot breath close to your mouth. When a horn honk startled you as you both stared down over the balcony railing, at the street, looking for the source of the noise. As both, your hearts beated faster in your chests.
"When I fixed it, I noticed a name."Horace said as he got out of the car from whom the noise had come from, as he spoke up at you, "Do you know what this car's called? A Devil."
You let out a sigh of relief and a loud laugh, letting your head fall back down, as your heartbeat started to slow down. You looked over at Cruella who just had a confused expression plastered on her face, as she looked at you with one eyebrow arched, as you affirmed more than asked her, "He does know that it's called DeVille right?"
Cruella's expression after what you said changed from confused to thoughtful, as the word "DeVille" left her lips, her hands still grabbing ahold of your coat.
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion as you looked at her and watched her smirk grow and the glint making its way into her eyes.
"I like that." That was all Cruella said, before pulling you with her towards the window, and even if you didn't know what she had her mind on you didn't care, the only thing you wanted was to spend all your moments with her.

He looks gorgeous and Wei Ying hates him for it.

“The hours,” Lan Zhan guesses, and that gives Wei Ying an idea.
“Yeah, the hours are too much,” he says, putting on his whiny voice, “I’m still in my twenties, you know? I want to go out and eat with my friends, and, and maybe find a boyfriend and get married, have a few kids, adopt some cats.”
Lan Zhan looks at him as if he has gone insane.

Cold Souls - Cruella x fem!reader
Chapter one | Chapter two | Chapter three | Chapter four
Summary- Y/n is a friend of Artie's who often helps him and his crew of tailors. Now that Artie has required her help for the fashion show of one of the top icons of the moment, Cruella, she has to learn how to coexist with her and try and understand why her friend is helping such a rude person. Will Cruella and y/n be able to put their problems aside and work together?
A/n - Hello there! This is my first time writing something for a long while, and I hope you enjoy it. I decided to create something because my gay ass hasn't been able to stop thinking about this character, and I loved the movie soooo anyways I tried. Im sorry in advance for any spelling errors English is not my first language. Love y'all <3
Pairing - Cruella x female!reader
Word count - 1.8k
Warnings - none :)
It was another day of helping Artie and his crew, make costumes for the fashion show Cruella had set up to best the Baroness Spring Collection Event. You really didn't understand why Artie was so fascinated by the woman, of course, she is deadly gorgeous and breathtakingly beautiful, but she is also, to be precise, an arrogant and obsessed maniac. You like Artie, he is a very dear old friend of yours, to whom you almost consider like family in this crazy lonely world we live in, and of course when he mentioned he needed your help you didn't hesitate to say 'yes'. You weren't exactly sure of what you were agreeing to, and now thinking about it you would've said 'no' on the spot if you knew what you already knew now.
You worked in Liberty for a few years and that was during the same time when you met Artie. One day, as you were taking a stroll through the busy streets of London, after leaving work, you stopped right in front of his shop and were mesmerized by his window, you went in immediately, and found incredibly pieces that were a "must" some years before, all the fabrics that were displayed inside were a share of both good quality and good price. You got to know each other pretty well really fast. You both shared a lot of fashion ideas and would talk for hours about famous stylists, sharing opinions and creative thinking. That was until he invited you to join and be a member of his tailors.
You were mesmerized with the idea and agreed almost instantly, as always not being able to tell him no, but that was one of the best decisions you made in your life, being able to work along with people who weren't with their heads halfway up their own asses all day, of course, it was a change of scenery for you, and it did you good. Artie's friends and your now coworkers, made you feel at ease, they always encouraged you to have new ideas of pieces and were really caring persons. Even though people always judged them for being different, that was another good thing you noticed about working with Artie and his friends, they were all so free, if that's what you can call it, and they didn't care about what other people thought of them and that was, no, IS just amazing.
So now here you were, working with your colleagues on fresh new outfits designed by the icon of the moment Cruella herself. Artie was working with her, at the center table, looking over at some new sketches she had made and deciding which type of fabric to use, on yet another piece you would later have to put together. You and Cruella didn't have the nicest relationship, if you could even call it that, perhaps colleagues? No, definitely not. You were mere acquaintances. Yes, that. You were here to help Artie and Artie alone because he was your friend and if he was helping this woman, God knows why, you would help or at least be helpful in the only way you could, which was sewing.
You had to admit that Cruella was a really talented woman, her sketches and ideas were fabulous, but that is it. Sure she is the icon of the moment and knows damn well how to make an entrance, but she is also a very rude person, she only thinks of herself and you've seen her being extremely mean at some of your coworkers over messing something up, luckily this hasn't happened to you because you really focused on getting the job well done. And perhaps if it happens in the near future you won't let it slide. You see, Cruella can be very mean and disrespectful at times but you can be just the same. You are a very calm and quiet person, you like to be on your own, after all, you've been alone for all of your life, what would make you want to change that now?
Cruella and you didn't start with the right foot if you're being honest. When you first met her she was showing Artie one of the sketches she had made, and you went over to them so that Artie could introduce you to everyone, you had yet to meet, and get to know the place you were going to be working in. Getting there you had decided to let them both finish their conversation and once they were over you then could talk with Artie. Well, let's just say that things didn't go according to plan. "Why is this person listening to our conversation?" Cruella said with the utmost disdain, accentuating the word "person" as an emphasis to make her disgust seem even more clear. "Oh..?" Artie looked over his shoulder seeing you for the first time that day, "this is y/n. She is another one of my workers." He said giving me a small smile, to which I returned. "Hello, nice to meet you." I said extending my hand to her, thinking that maybe she just didn't like being around people she didn't exactly know yet. But Cruella just stared down at my hand and then upwards at my face, after doing this a couple of times she just turned around and walked away. I dropped my hand and looked over to where Artie stood looking at me, he just shrugged his shoulders as if he's used to it. I decided to shake it off too because I was only here to help Artie.
Things didn't get well after that first meeting between the two of you. You are already, by now, used to Cruella's rudeness, as a result, you aren't affected by it anymore. Since a few days ago when Cruella asked everyone to stand around the main table she normally worked in to explain how things would work and to show the designs and types of fabric we were going to have to use. She then proceeded to show her sketches of the costumes around so that everyone could see, she advanced to ask if there were any questions, and that is where you made your mistake, you decided to give your opinion on a piece which you thought would look better with a tulle fabric in it. Cruella let's just say, didn't react really well after that, and you still are sorry for the piece of furniture that got damaged at your cost.
Today was no different, Cruella was rude as always, but her anger was not directed to you at least. You were currently working on a coat that one of your coworkers would wear on Cruella's fashion show. You had to admit that this piece was stunning and would love to wear it, but you still didn't exactly have anything to wear yet and didn't even know if you were going to be a part of it to be true. Cruella had already made costumes for almost everyone except you, you weren't mad, you were pissed to be precise. You've been working your ass off for the last couple of days so that everything could be done in time. You liked challenges, and this one was a run against time, even if it wouldn't benefit you in any way. You were doing her a favor by being here and yet it seems that she forgot about you, you know you two don't get along but for Christ's sake, she could at least have a little bit of conscience and empathy for those who were helping her.
Suddenly, you were drawn from your thoughts by a hand with a sketch being slammed on your table. You immediately looked up and realized it was Cruella, she had, like always, a big smirk on her face as she looked at you. You were so absorbed in your own thoughts that you haven't noticed her finishing her talk with Artie and walk towards where you were working.
"Artie told me his workers never got distracted, I guess that is just not true." Cruella said with the smirky grin still on her face.
"Did you need something? Or you only came here to annoy me as usual?" You asked, ignoring her statement. You really weren't in the mood to have an argument and it was true, after all, you were distracted. About what? You wouldn't dare tell her.
"Yes, sadly." She said as she picked up the piece of paper she brought with her. "I wanted to give you the sketch I made for the outfit you're going to wear on the fashion show, darling."
Ok, yeah, that surprised you. You were mere minutes ago thinking that you weren't even going to be a part of the show and now she is giving you a sketch of your costume. You were utterly shocked. You tried to recompose yourself the best you could.
"My outfit?" You asked her, still unsure if you heard her correctly. Cruella furrowed her brows in confusion.
"Yes, your outfit darling. Who else would it be? If it were someone else's outfit why would I even be here?" She said with the utmost confusion and with a hinting of small annoyance in her voice, she did not like it when she had to repeat herself and when people made her lose her, oh, so precious time.
"If I'm being honest, I was thinking I wouldn't be getting one." You decided to proceed and be completely honest, almost completely.
"Why wouldn't you be getting one, darling? You're helping me are you not?" She asked.
"To be fair I'm here to help Artie, not you." I told her the truth, everyone knew that already, it wasn't a secret. Cruella just limited herself to roll her eyes at me. "But thank you, I'll get started once I'm finished here." You said reaching for the paper in her hand.
She gave me a weird look but decided not to think too much about it. I grabbed the paper expecting her to let go and go on her way, but Cruella had other plans, she pulled on it from the other end and that action made me lean a bit more over my table as a reflex to not rip the paper apart. Cruella proceeded to bend down just a little so that she could whisper something only the both of you would be able to hear. "You know darling, you could accomplish a lot in life if you weren't such a..." she made a dramatic pause, and oh boy this closeness was making you flush and you bet she knew that. "... brat." Cruella then let go of the paper, turned around, and walked away.
Well, now you weren't sure what to make out of what just happened. If you're being honest you couldn't even think at the moment. All you knew is that her bittersweet perfume was still lingering in the air and damn you loved it.

Cruella proceeded then to explain to you the entire plan against the Baroness. Some while later Artie finally showed up, a stack of fabrics in his hands, which he almost drooped upon seeing Cruella. You had decided to give them some space and retired to the front of the shop while they talked. That day was something. You'll never forget about it. The day Cruella came back to you, safe and sound.
The next day you and Artie had walked together to the address Cruella had given to Artie, the place where she told him we'd work for the time being. Said address had led you to a fancy, yet quiet street, to the house of John. You were welcomed in by Jasper and Horace whom you'd been looking forward to seeing again. A couple of hours later, you and Artie had settled in, equipment and fabrics had filed the place from the top to the last floor of the house. Cruella had introduced you both to John, who you found out later on to be a very quiet and non-talkative person. And then everything was on the run for the plan that was due to occur during the Baroness Charity Event.
Before you knew it, three days had passed. Faster than lightning. Three days of painting wigs, making equal costumes for every invited guest and leaving the boxes with everything at said guests porch. Three days filled with work, and stolen glances between Cruella and yourself. The Baroness Charity Event would take place tonight, and everyone was nervous, even though they tried their best to hide it.
It was late afternoon and the sun would soon be replaced by the moon. You were midst checking every floor of the house to see how everyone was doing, and to check if everything was ready. You were now on the top floor of Johns place. The room was empty, aside from Buddy that sat on the chair in the corner next to an open window.
As you made your way to go pet him, Jasper got in through the said window, which caused you to take a few steps back in surprise. Jasper now at his full height, looked at you, not expecting, as you did, for someone to be there.
"Hello." He said, stepping away from the window.
"Hi." You responded, approaching Buddy and crouching next to the chair and start to pet him.
"Is Horace back yet?" Jasper asked, hands in his pockets.
"Not that I know of." You answered. "But I don't think he will be long." Smiling as Buddy's tail started to wage.
"Well, I'm going to grab a bite, I'm starving." He said and you chuckled at his words. "Do you want me to grab something for you?" He asked.
"No, I'm good." You answered, turning towards him, but stopping midway as something caught your attention. Something, or rather someone was outside on the balcony. You tore your gaze away from the open window and looked up at Jasper. "You go and get yourself something to eat before you pass out." You joked.
He scoffed and walked away. You let out a quiet chuckle and turn again towards the window. Cruella was sitting outside, looking over at the city, probably lost in her thoughts. Which you found comprehensible, because tonight was the night, and if things didn't get according to plan then... you can't even think about it.
You looked at buddy and petted him in the head one last time, before getting up and go the balcony through the open window. Cruella didn't acknowledge you, and you didn't want to interrupt whatever was happening in that brilliant mind of hers. So you just lent against the wall, one leg propped against it and arms crossed in front of you as you observed her beauty.
You weren't sure what tonight would entail, and were uncertain of how it would end, even though you were hoping and wishing with all your strength for it to go according to plan, and for no one to get hurt. Your mind had been full the entire day, various topics concerning you, but the one you had silenced and tried to ignore but still always made its way to the centre of everything, was your feelings for Cruella.
You had wanted to confess your feelings towards her after the Fashion Show, but then with everything that happened and with you thinking you had lost her, but then finding out you hadn't lost her at all... everything happened so fast and in so little time that every time you thought was the right time or place to confess, something else would come up.
Now here you were, unsure if you should tell her or not. Option one, confess your feelings and lift the weight of holding it in only to yourself off your shoulders and later on being able to not regret it if things turn out good or (you wish not) bad. And option two, not to confess your feelings and holding them in for a couple more days (or months), not wanting to burden Cruella at a time like this. Best case scenario, she would accept your feelings and perhaps (if you're lucky) confess her own as well. Worst case scenario, well, that you would have to figure out later.
Divided between these two options and unsure of what to do, a headache started to make its way into the mix. Luckily, Cruella, who only now you noticed, turned to look at you finally broke the silence.
"It's rude to stare, you know darling?" She said, a smirk gracing her lips and one of her eyebrows raised.
Flushed you looked everywhere but at her and said, "I wasn't staring." You tried to reverse the situation but it seemed that your brain was at a lack of good outcomes. "I was simply observing the view." You finally said, gesturing towards the city with one of your hands.
Cruella scoffed but decided to not get into it. "Whatever makes you sleep at night." She said, her smug grin never leaving her lips as she turned her gaze to the streets of London yet again.
You, still flustered and wishing for the topic of conversation to change, asked what you had wanted to ask her for the entirety of that day.
"Are you sure that this is what you want to do?" Your right arm, which had been motioning towards the city returned to cross against your chest, as it was sometime before.
"I am," Cruella said, nodding her head. "It's the right thing to do." She then turned to you, her gaze giving you the intensity of how sure she was about this.
Letting out a soft sigh and dropping your gaze to the floor you told her, "Just don't die."
Cruella, who kept staring at you, trying to decipher the meaning behind your words, answered in an attempt to lighten the mood, "Haven't you heard darling? I'm unkillable." Her smirk dropped when she saw your lack of a smile, regretting her words instantly. This wasn't something to joke around about.
"I really wished for that to be true." Was your only response as you kept your head down, focusing on a rather interesting spot you found on the floor to keep from looking up at her, knowing she would read right through you.
"Y/n?" Cruella called you, and you finally looked up trying to keep your emotions from showing. When Cruella saw that she had your attention she continued, "Remember when I told you that you couldn't care for anyone else but yourself?"
You nodded, having a feeling that you wouldn't like the side this conversation was taking.
She took a deep breath and looked around, probably trying to find the right words to explain whatever she wanted to tell you. Cruella exhaled, her lips parted as she focused her eyes on you and said, "That includes me as well." She looked away, not being able to keep her gaze on you, unsure of how you would respond. She swallowed, looked down as you had mere minutes before, and said, "Especially me."
You turned your eyes towards the city of London, thinking about what to respond to said words, as your eyes became glossy but you did everything in your power to keep the tears away. Not wanting her to see you like this before the most important night of the season.
Just as you thought that Cruella was finished and your conversation would end right there, the sound of her voice, yet just a little above a whisper, made your attention turn to her once more.
"I only cause pain amongst people I consider important to me."
A sense of bravery took over your actions at the thought of Cruella diminishing herself. "I guess we're a little late for that." You answered as she looked up at you confused. "Because I went from despising you to start liking you quite a bit." You admitted, trying to lighten the mood not wanting to ruin the night for the both of you.
It was then that she cracked a smile, a look of amusement on her face when she answered, as a grin made its way to her lips, "That makes two of us then, you're not as such a brat as I thought."
You chuckled, your mind taking you back to the time she called you a brat, and you remembered that the only thing that had filled your mind that day had been her bittersweet perfume. With a goofy smile plastered on your face from a nostalgic memory, you gathered the courage and said.
"Cruella, I need to tell you something."
Cruella who was still smiling from your exchange seconds ago, asked, unsure of what was coming as she sensed a tinge of seriousness in your voice, "What is it, darling?"
"I love you."

A/n - Hello everyone! This chapter was kind of last minute, because I didn't have time to write it last night, and today I went to buy the last things I needed for my birthday, which is tomorrow! I really want to at least write a tiny chapter for tomorrow still, since I probably won't post on Friday, because of my birthday party, so stay tuned, cause I'm going to try and post another chapter <3

That night you didn't have trouble sleeping, perhaps it was because of you being more tired than expected, or maybe, just maybe, it was because Cruellas bittersweet perfume still lingered in on your personal space.
You had a feeling that things would get better, obviously, there are a lot of things that were still unsaid between the two of you, but for now, it really didn't matter. For now, it was enough.
Your morning had passed rather quietly, and quickly. Everyone was running from and to the warehouse, because of the preparations for the fashion show. You were at your table making sure everything was in order, checking the number of outfits and all the like. Horace and Jasper, were around today too, helping with anything that was needed.
Cruella was at her table working. Artie went out to do something they were discussing earlier today. Whatever you did, your eyes would be drawn to her form every single time. You knew that Cruella saw this because, every time you found your eyes were on her she had a smirk on her face, even though she wasn't looking at you, but rather at the task she was handling. Either way, anytime she would stand up your eyes would follow her, she seemed drawn to you just the same way you were drawn to her because, every time she would glance in your direction, you would just flash her a small smile to which she would return.
You found these interactions much better than the previous ones you had had, and it was nice that at least you both could get along. You could get used to this. The smiles and glances you both threw at each other, it felt familiar and comforting.
Your day was spent like this, working, sparing glances at Cruella, and watching her work, that is until she left. She went to work for the baroness you presumed, you were still unable to think about Cruella working for the woman who killed her own mother, you wouldn't be able to do it, you would lash out and confront her the first time you had set eyes upon the baroness. But Cruella was smart, a lot smarter than you and than everyone else. You were sure that the need for revenge was what made her delve into the idea of bringing the baroness and all the things she loved fall to rock bottom. And that was why she was smart, Cruella wanted the baroness to feel the same way she felt as a child, to make her lose what she deemed was the most important thing to her, her business.
You had to admit that you were starting to admire Cruella more and more with everything new you found out about her. The rest of the day passed quickly, you agreed to leave with Artie so that the both of you could catch up a bit since you weren't really able to do it the last couple of days.
Cruella had arrived a few moments ago, you saw her on the elevator, and you had to admit you were kind of sad that she didn't even stop to talk to you, or even Artie. You were sitting at your table talking to Artie, who was packing up some things for the both of you to take with you to his shop, when Horace and Jasper got out of the elevator, all dressed in black and with a beanie on their heads. You stared at them, confusion noticeable on your face, stopping mid-sentence.
"What the ..?" That was the only thing you said while looking at them from top to bottom. Artie looked up and seemed just as confused as you.
Horace and Jasper who seemed to get what you were both so incredulous about, started nodding their heads, while Jasper said, "Cruella wants us to break into the House of Baroness and pretend we were going to steal her signature piece of the spring collection event."
"Ohhh," you and Artie said in unison. That made sense, once again, brilliant idea. Jasper looked kind of annoyed, perhaps it was your impression, but it didn't hurt to ask.
You walked towards him, while Artie and Horace were both chatting. You pulled Jasper to the side, not wanting anyone to eavesdrop on your conversation. Jasper looked at you with a questioning gaze.
"Is something the matter?" You asked, looking up at Jasper concerned.
"What do you mean?" He asked confused. Looking at you with one eyebrow arched.
"You look kind of annoyed. Did something happen?" You tried asking once again, perhaps you really were imagining things.
"Oh, I just had a talk with Cruella, let’s just say it didn't go that well." Jasper said. Oh wow, ok, maybe she was in a mood, probably something that happened at the House of Baroness, you knew you found it odd of her not to even stop and talk to Artie when she arrived.
"Was it because I told her that I knew the baroness killed her mother?" The realization that you still hadn’t told Jasper about your conversation with Cruella got to you. Was she still mad at Jasper even after you told her he didn’t do anything wrong? It couldn’t be, could it?
"No, don't worry, it wasn't about that." Jasper said. Relief washed over you.
"You know that if you want to talk, I'm always here, right?” You said while gently touching his shoulder and giving him a weak smile. You really liked Jasper, he was a good friend, and you were happy you got to know each other in such a short period of time.
Jasper let his head fall and gave you a small smile while touching the hand you had on his shoulder, it was a friendly gesture, and you were always ready to help and listen, whenever someone needed to get something off their chests, you were happy to play the part. Jasper said, "Thank you."
The moment was broken when you heard an angry voice coming from upstairs saying "Y/n get up here, now."
You looked up towards the big hole that was on the ceiling, that divided the second and third floor of the building, and there you saw Cruella standing with her arms crossed in front of her, she gave you a look of "don'tmakemeaskyoutwice" and walked away.
You looked up at Jasper and grimaced, not ready for what was about to happen. He wished you good luck, which you knew you were going to need since the lack of the word "darling" in her sentence was noticeable, and that’s how you knew you were in trouble.

Cruella was now sitting on the couch next to yours, at the back of Artie's shop. You had busied yourself in making the tea, the second you entered the back room. You could feel Cruella's eyes on you from the same sofa she had seated, you were trying your best not to turn around, pretending you were oblivious of her stare. After you had prepared the tea, you reached for two teacups, sugar and milk and placed them onto a tray as well as the teapot, and carried it to the small center table in front of the sofas.
From the moment you sat down, Cruella began to tell you the whole story of what had happened after the show. She told you everything. From finding Horace and Jasper both tied to chairs in the middle of the warehouse because they had been followed, to the Baroness plan to kill her on the warehouse fire and make it look like Jasper and Horace were the culprits. She told you about John, the Baroness butler, who had been the one who rescued her before the flames had consumed her.
You sat there quietly, listening intently. It was quite a story to take in. You had stopped drinking your tea halfway into the first minutes, to process everything that Cruella was telling you.
"But that's not even the worst part." She told you, clearly noticing your facial expressions switched from surprise to concern, and the other way around, as she moved from detail to detail in her story.
"There's more?" You asked, expressing your true surprise, as to say 'what could possibly be worst than be almost burned alive?!'
Cruella stared at you and nodded while pursing her lips. She then reached for the necklace, that was hidden under the button-up shirt she was wearing and took it off letting it dangle between her fingers as she brought it closer to you.
"This necklace was my mom's, when I was a kid she told me it was a family heirloom and that one day it would be mine," Cruella smiled down at the necklace in her hands as she was telling you the story. "This necklace was the one I told you about, the one I tried to take from the Baroness at her White and Black Ball and failed, it was on the same night I found out she killed my mother." She looked up at you, and the memory of when she told you about the necklace at the warehouse flowed to your mind.
"Well, I figured out that it isn't just a necklace." She said. You looked at her, a look of confusion filling your features instantly. 'Not just a necklace?' You thought.
Cruella lifted the necklace from her palms once again, taking a hold of the gem with one hand and the top of the pendant with the other, she lifted the pendant and drew the gem down, and all of a sudden the necklace showed a secret key. You were filled with surprise as you stared at the tiny key that now took place at the end of the string. You looked up towards Cruella, your eyebrows furrowed.
"This key," she looked down at it, "unlocks the box my birth certificate was in." Cruella then lifts her gaze towards you once again. You tilt your head to the side, even more, confused than before. Birth Certificate? What the heck was going on? You just nodded your head for Cruella to proceed. She let out a big breath and continued.
"The Baroness is my birth mother."
Your eyebrows lifted so high up in your forehead that you were almost sure they would fall out, your eyes were as wide as they had ever been before, your mouth agape as you processed Cruella's words. You were frozen in place for a long while, looking at Cruella to make sure you had heard her correctly. She just pursed her lips and nodded, while putting the gem back on the necklace, hiding once again the secret key, and placing it around her neck and under her button-up shirt yet again. Cruella just waited for all the information she just gave you to sink in, as she calmly sipped her tea, while looking at you expectantly.
You finally let yourself relax and leaned back in your chair, still a bit shocked but overall relieved to finally know what had happened.
"I was... not expecting that, to be honest." It was the only thing you could think of to say.
"Well, I wasn't either." Cruella told you, leaning back on the couch as well.
She then proceeded to tell you how John was the one to show her the key that was in the necklace and the one who held the box of her birth certificate. She told you how the baroness had given her away to died, and how Catherine, her other mother, who used to work for the baroness, saved her, gave her a home, and raised her as her own.
"And that is basically the whole thing." Cruella finished telling you all about what she had just discovered hours ago.
"That is a really messed up story." You said. You would've never thought the Baroness was Cruellas real mother, or that she tried to kill her own child twice now.
"Indeed it is." Cruella agreed, moving to sit cross-legged on the couch, getting more comfortable.
"What about Jasper and Horace? We have to get them out of prison!" You stated, wide-eyed yet again, remembering them both.
"Not to worry, I've already taken care of that, they're safe." She answered you calming you down.
"And is this John person, trustworthy then?" You asked her.
"I believe he is, yes." She answered you, moving forward to grab her teacup.
"Well then, knowing you I bet you have a plan." You said, stating the obvious. As Artie says, Cruella always has a plan.
"Obviously, darling, hence why I came here to talk to Artie, where is he anyway?" She asked, sipping her tea while looking around the room.
"He went to pick up some new fabrics," you explained. "but I know him and he is going to help you and so am I." You said, always offering to help her with whatever it was her plan was this time.
"Why would you help me?" She asked incredulously. "After everything that happened, everything that I just told you, this could be dangerous." She exclaimed.
"And what? You don't think I can handle a little dangerousness?" You asked her while scoffing. Why was she making a big deal out of this? The more the merrier, she could use all the help she could get, why turn your offer down?
"Oh, darling, I know you can, that's not the problem." She told you, and it was her who scoffed this time.
"Then what is?" You asked, curious to know what the problem was this time, yet starting to get annoyed as to why she didn't seem to want your help.
"The problem is that I won't be able to live with myself if something happens to you." Cruella admitted, setting her teacup down on the table firmly. She wasn't looking at you, she was staring at the center table, refusing to return eye contact.
So that was what this was all about. You found yourself flushing for the hundredth time again near the woman. Your heart warmed at her concern, even if it was just a matter of not wanting a friend to get hurt it still made your stomach flutter with butterflies.
"Nothing will happen to me." You said softly, a small smile gracing your features.
"How can you be so sure about that?" She asked you in a small voice, still staring at the table's surface, not looking at you.
"Because I know that you won't let anything happen to me." You admitted. This was something you were indeed sure of, after everything Cruella just told you, all the complicated scenarios that had taken place, it all made you realize one thing, that being, that Cruella would never let anyone mess with her family and friends, and you were glad to be a part of her small bubble.
Your statement made Cruella instantly look up at you. Surprise filled her features, a small blush covered her cheeks, and the smallest but still honest of smiles was shown. You were starstruck by her in every single possible way, and you didn't regret it in any way.
Clearing your throat you continued. "So, now that that is discussed, what is the plan?" You asked her.
Cruella flashed you an evil smirk and started to tell you everything.

The day was soon coming to an end. Almost everyone had left the warehouse for the day, the only people left were you, Artie, Cruella, Horace, and Jasper, who, unlike Cruella, were super kind and wonderful to be around. Both of them treated you really well and you still couldn't understand how they could put up with Cruella when she is, well, Cruella. You've heard that Estella was a lot more sympathetic and nicer to be around, yet, you couldn't tell if it was true or not, since you've never seen that side of Cruella.
You were taking longer than you expected to finish your piece. You've been helping your coworkers all day because they had too much stuff in their hands while you had already finished everything but your costume. Looking back now, you probably should have finished the costume and then help the others, but now there's nothing you could do, and you're almost finished anyway.
Artie is usually the final one to leave since Cruella and the others live here. Today, well, things were a lot tougher than usual since the fashion show was only a few days away.
You were finishing up your costume when Artie came and sat in the chair right in front of you. "You usually have already left by now," he said, you could tell he was surprised, you were a fast worker, but today after your talk with Cruella, if you could call it that, you got a little more distracted than you already were before.
"Yes, and so would've you too." I answered, "I got caught up on some things and lost track of time for a bit."
"You..lost.. track of time? Yeah, I'm not really going to buy that bullshit!" Artie said, of course, he would know, he has known you for years nothing goes past him. "So, what's on your mind? Spill the beans." He said with a smile.
"Don't you have to leave? It's pretty late, and we both know you don't like to wake up early when you don't get your full beauty sleep." You stated, chuckling a little.
"I think I can manage" he smiled "but now really, what's going on in that brain of yours?" he continued.
"It's just.." you hesitated "why are you helping her? Cruella I mean." You asked honestly, you still couldn't put your mind into what is making Artie wanting to help her so badly. You know he loves fashion, gods you do too, but ...
"Y/n, really, this conversation again?" was the only thing he said while he shocked his head.
"Look, I know okay? It's just that I can't put my mind into it!" You were getting a little frustrated by all this, was it that hard to tell me what was going on?
"Look y/n..." he sighed "I know you two aren't the best of friends, but I can assure you that this is for a great cause."
"I just don't understand how you get on with her, that's all." You truly admitted. "She's just so rude and cold to everyone who is helping her. Poor Jasper and Horace who have to do everything she says, and deal with her every single day, I admire those guys!"
Artie just looked at me before saying "She has been through a lot in life, and I know that she can be a real bitch at times BUT she is a good person deep down, a little bit mad but overall, good." You could tell Artie was being real this time. "Just drop it, and can you please promise me you will try to be nicer to her?" He looked at you hopefully.
"Ok..ok.. I'll drop it." I said. Artie gave me a look that said 'promisemeyou'llbegood' and you continued "I promise I'll try and be a little nicer." With this, Artie got up wishing me a good night as he stepped onto the elevator to leave.
You sighed and continued working on your outfit. Your mind was going through the whole conversation you had with Artie, and maybe you should try and be a little nicer. Maybe if you were nicer to her she would be nicer or at least not so rude to you. It's just that you couldn't control it! She had a way to get in your nerves, you don't know why or how, but it just happened.
In 10 minutes you finished your costume and got up from the table you considered now yours since you had been working there for the past couple of days. After making sure that everything was perfectly in place you decided to take your leave. You retrieved your bag from the floor next to your desk and started towards the elevator.
You were almost at the elevator when you heard a voice sound from behind you saying, "You don't have to start being nicer to me just because Artie told you that I have a sad past, you know darling?" Cruella stated, rather coldly.
You turned around to look at her, she still wore her black leather pants with her black leather jacket she had on from earlier, her hair was a little wilder from the day's events. She looked stunning, as much as you hated her you still had eyes to appreciate the beauty the woman was. "So now you're listening in on people's conversations? Didn't take you for that kind of person." You snorted while rolling your eyes. Did she really snoop in on your conversation with Artie? Really?
"I don't need anyone's pity, darling." Cruella said with disdain dripping from her words as she walked forward, arms crossed in front of her.
"I am not pitting you if that's what you're concerned about." You assured her, not that you had to explain anything to her after she just eavesdropped in on your conversation. "Now, if you'll excuse me I'll be going on my way." You said as you turned around towards the elevator, but before you could press the button to call it a hand grabbed your wrist and by the force of it, it made you spin around to face no other than Cruella herself. Wasn't your conversation over? You thought you made that pretty clear.
You were face to face now. She was a lot more closer than you would consider appropriate but you didn't dare to budge or look away. You were staring into each other's eyes, and you wouldn't be the one to fall into the temptation of looking down to the other's lips. Your noses were almost touching, and you could feel her breath hit your face making you shiver.
"You know, that's no way to treat your boss darling." Cruella said, her voice low just above a whisper.
"One, don't call me darling." You'd be lying if you said you didn't like it when she called you that, but right at this moment, you were using everything you got to try and piss her off. You would try and fulfill the promise you made to Artie about being nicer to her, but starting tomorrow. "Two, you're not my boss." You stated trying to show her you were not intimidated by her.
You stayed there staring at each other. You were already ready for Cruella's come back to your response. That didn't happen as you expected. Cruella just smiled, an evil, smirky smile, and got even closer to you. You had to admit you were a little scared of what would be the outcome of this, but still, something deep inside you stirred at the possibility of something happening.
As Cruella got closer you were preparing yourself mentally for what this might enroll. Just as you thought she would kiss you, she dipped her face to the left side of your face and,
"Keep telling yourself that..." she whispered in your ear, "..darling." You could feel her smile in the shell of your ear, mixed with her breath on your cold skin which caused your skin to prickle.
With that Cruella took one last look at you, and for the second time, that day she turned around and walked away, swaying her hips as she did so.
Oh boy. You weren't sure if you would be able to sleep that night.
