re love lines:

i wish kataang was written better in the show (MY opinion if any1 stumbles upon this). i don't ~ship~ zutara bc i am an adult and even back then no cos who cares lol but i see the appeal and am attracted to that. i do think we have to retire the trope of the "both sides but falling in love" not because it isn't possible but because post 10/7 (free palestine) i don't think it's worth it to look at it this way anymore. until someone proves themselves not worthy of death because of the resistance fighting back then they NEED TO PROVE THEMSELVES IMMEDIATELY. no more of this i'm in a concentration camp but he's a nazi bullshit. no more i'm a slave but he's the slave master's son (i mean in this case u could have been related but no1 listens to me!) it's repetitive, reductive, and untrue.

that being said: i just never care about the typical bildungsroman love story. you see the One Person bc i guess the kids tasked with saving the world have to be monk-adjacent (in aang's case quite literally) bc understandably theyre so fucked up lol. but it's always sooooo boring to me esp if it's f/m.

katara is such a complex character and mae whitman brings a wisdom to her voice that can be frustrating to connect with for me but her character arc, her strength, her MIND, her heart, and her fists. i think ppl probs like zutara the most when shes' going batshit and no one can understand aang's perspective. but aang is one of a kind and the cutest smartest sweetest loser ever. not my fav char but i love him. he's like if i had a younger brother and not an older one lmao.

of course they're (kataang) together. they were meant to be from the moment they saw e/o and that stupid cave kiss...this is why you don't wait until 32 to watch this lol.

but nothing surprised me and it was meant to be the way it was written. that's also why i find it understandable but shocking people in the universe and apparently outside of it were surprised at aang's turmoil over ozai. like are you joking? he's a 12 year old vegetarian monk. which: i loved his vegetarianism and obviously he was going to be but very casually they put in a line that hints as to why he would be and why many of us are...so i am dedicated to it again.

so wrt that and zutara...the episode where he's with her with the dude that killed her moms and his support of her i can see why people like them. the cave ep obviously but this show is veryyyyy free with affection i noticed and there's some jealousy but they all get over that pretty quickly. i read some of the comics and i could see different rships happening and i definitely think this world lends to queerness (me personally i love monogamy but a certain type lol so not rly interested in much poly but i do like a throuple) but i could see most being bi+ or having identified as that in the past, or labeling themselves but nto limiting. that's just an aside for meee...

so like katara was being katara. i could see suki and zuko being romantic but also a deep friendship that could be deeply affectionate either affect or physically or both bc that's who these ppl are. katara is a very intense person and that's part of why she can be annoying. that's part of why they ALL can be overwhelming. theyre intense, traumatized, repressed kids and teens with mostly good hearts (or just a person so disconnected from herself but also a fascist so u know. her going nuts lol)

You felt your eyes train on your hands, folded neatly in your lap. You wanted to cry, to give up, throw in whatever goddamn towel you had left, but you couldn't. Chuck, Minho, Alby, even Teresa and Thomas by now, they all needed hope and for Newt, it was your turn to be the light left.

"Yeah. Maybe we will lose it all, but at least we can say we tried." You finally gathered the courage to look at him, "There's not point in staying here and shucking around. The sun's shucking gone Newt, the Grievers are picking us off one-by-one, none of this can ever go back to the way it was. And you know that."

He sighed, looking out on the Glade. "I don't want to be the shuck-faced leader who loses all his people, Y/n." SO we all know Mike was a great friend (tho a bit of a hothead) in s1 and s2 but then suddenly in s3 and s4 he's kind of an asshole (conviently when he starts dating el)

So right there it's alr a clear connection that milkvan isn't good 4 him bcs?? A relationship isn't healthy if u feel the need 2 detach from all your friends and give nobody else attention except each other...

BUT ANYWAYD I think byler s5 would change SO MANY THINGS 4 mike LIKE 1. HES WELL KNOWN 2 BE NOT THAT GOOD AT FIGHTING RIGHT okay well hear me out will is good at fighting and they have a moment where he teaches him (kind of like that jancy moment where Jon and nancy swapped the gun and bat 2 find out which 1 was better 4 them) and WE KNOW that will brings the bravery out of him (ex he litr goes 2 all means 2 save will despite knowing there's monsters and ppl dying and things) a bravery that was sort of snuffed out in the fact that Mike didn't really have 2 do anything after they found el, he just kind of was like 🤯 el use ur powers and she did so he doesn't rly have 2 do any of that anymore BUT WITH ELEVEN GROWING INTO INDEPENDENCE I think it wld be so nice 2 see a scene of him also learning 2 take care of himself and I think the best one 2 teach him that wld be will (showing him how 2 load a gun nd aim nd shit)

2. He wld finally be able 2 open up abt how he was feeling more often

In the show we've seen like.MANY many times that Mike opens up 2 will more often and more genuinely than he does 2 any1 else (including el)

If byler ends up being real I think it wld be so much more healthy for Mike bcs he would be lying all the time which is like the main msg of their group (friends don't lie!!!!)

3. Again I think we would get better insight 2 mike as a person for the first time since s2, his thoguhts his wants, needs, motivations, everything. Again when has he ever had a truly honest dialogue with eleven about how he feels (and don't tell me the stupid superhero speech bcs that was trash), he never has not really. He never tells el the complexities of his emotions but rather dumbs it down 2 😟 sowwy I was angy and that's it

But with will they really deeply talk abt things and admit things 2 each other that they don't talk 2 any1 else abt and having a connection like that be one of the main focuses in the show wld totally let us see into mikes thoughts and therefore him as a character so much better

4. HE CLD INTERACT W HIS FRIENDS IN A NORMAL WAY AGAIN one thing that irked me so bad w milkvan is they are insanely clingy 2 thr point of being unhealthy

Even though Mike and will have one or two moments in s4, this like?? Unhealthy obsessed attitude is still present (in mike at least, el seems 2 be getting over it), all he talks abt is el, he hardly even mentions anyone else at all despite seeing will for the first time in a year (u think he wld talk abt the party more?? b4 el got kidnapped I mean)

BUT ANYWASY yeah s3 was also rly bad w that where he wld just abandon his friends 4 her ALL THE TIME and there's a point where like.you really aren't a good friend if all u do is ditch them 24/7 and they all call him out 4 it.

BUT when el's out of the picture he seems to have no problem hanging out w the party (ex. When hopper told mike 2 stay away from el or else, and mike immediately starting hanging out w lucas and will again?? Yeah)

so I think byler wld make him a better friend as well

SO. Agent Connecticut! his mom (he considers her to be like his mom)! design wise, completely unintentional that they both style their hair to cover the right side of their face, but hey it works out :D

when it was revealed Zone was, in fact, NOT an adult, it was frequently brought up that he looked similar to two Freelancers, York and CT. it made things somewhat awkward between Zone and CT. during PFL (esp b4 the break in) Zone was more shy and stuck with Maine, but still very much a little shithead fucks around and finds out. CT

CT goes on missions with Zone to get her rank up on the leaderboard, but does warm up to him after a bit, and they eventually do form some kind of mother-son bond (even if CT is 5’4 and Zone is 5’8 and she has to look up at him a bit). CT and Zone get closer, and Zone eventually tells her that he doesnt trust the Director, even after hes given him his position as an Agent, and tells her that he sees ghosts in the places he’s been. this makes CT go “oh shit”. CT vaguely mentions what will eventually happen in S10 EP2 (her defecting), but doesnt tell him a lot because he’s still pretty close with a good chunk of Freelancers that would absolutely rat her out.

CT defects to the Insurrection. Zone is in denial because, well yes he was somewhat warned, he didnt expect it- plus his mom just fucking left without a hint**.

during the planning of the shipyard mission, he was interrogated by the Director and Counselor to see if CT has told him anything (she hadnt). he wasnt allowed to go on the shipyard mission due to the fact that he would have either joined CT or would let her and the Insurrection Leader to escape.

Zone finds out that Connecticut died. he does not interact with anyone other than Maine and Sigma and blames the Director fully for CT’s death. break-in comes, and Sigma requests Arizona to stay with him and Maine until he successfully gets ahold of Iota and Eta.

(quick note AZ hasnt aged much bc he fucked-around-and-found-out with Wyoming after taking on the Variagrade title, going after Gamma. he got smacked and Wyoming used his damaged-from-an-ambush time distortion and got him stuck as a teenager. he hates it.)

CT’s ghost eventually finds Zone, who reacts with a multitude of emotions, mainly anger and sadness. he was mad she hasnt found him any time before he was the Variagrade, sad that she hadn’t found him until now, yet happy that she had found him. he lets her stay around him, but is a bit resentful, and tries not to show it.

fun bonus fact: CT used to help cut Zone’s hair during PFL . it got longer after she died and during his time with the Meta. Donut, another ghost-seer, currently helps him with tips from CT.

from Zone's toyhouse: C.T. was wary of Arizona at first, but eventually started warming up to him after they began going on missions with each other. C.T. and Zone formed a mother-son relationship, and ended up sharing the idea of bad the Director was. Zone was in denial when she defected, then when C.T. dies, he doesn't interact with anyone other than Maine and Sigma, fully blaming the Director for Connecticut's death.

*AZ, Wash, Donut, and a few other characters can see ghosts. wash spec bc he seems like he doesnt believe in ghosts >:)

**CT knew Maine and other Agents that Arizona was close to would most likely come to hunt them down twice as much, especially with Zone’s enhancements and his status as the resident homicidal teen

PERSONALITY TIME. k. so Agent Arizona B here is a bit emotionally underdeveloped. he doesnt remember anything before the Labyrinth Archives- he lived there for a couple of years at least, which only had worker robots and the occasional hostile pest- and had to relearn some things. he’s introverted, shy (he was WAY more shy during PFL, but slowly gained confidence), and aggressive, especially after the Meta. he was often compared to the (then MIA, but announced KIA) former Agent Arizona by the Director and a few other Freelancers.

he’s self-destructive, stubborn, and a perfectionist. he’s also willing to change, as he joins the Red Team on Chorus and sees himself relaxing more before joining the Rebels. he can go from calmly reading to racing someone if he feels up for it. he’s sarcastic, sassy, and kind of an asshole, but he means well. he’s fairly vengeful, and gets quiet when he’s super mad. on some Freelancer missions where he was particlarly pissed so he said fuck it we ball and managed to get shot but complete the missions (still got points deducted for recklessness; he calls it blind courage)

Update: part 2 ——> “First Date”

It was a surprisingly warm day, for once. Lately it had been chilly, but Mother Nature had finally blessed the residents of Quantico with a beautiful day. Spencer was glad that the BAU had a day off as he walked on the park’s path reading his new book. He was headed towards his usual bench to relax, read, and to just overall enjoy the marvelous weather. The plot of this new book was so intriguing that he couldn’t wait to start reading, so he figured he’d multi-task. Spencer was so engrossed in his book that he didn’t hear a voice yelling, “WATCH OUT!”

Next thing he knew a bright yellow frisbee flew into his shoulder. Rubbing his shoulder, Spencer looked up towards the direction the frisbee came from and saw a young woman jogging towards with a worried expression. She appeared to be around Spencer’s age, maybe two or three years younger given her physical appearance. Spencer wasn’t able to finish his physical assessment of her as she approached him. As she got closer, he felt his heart beat increase. She was beautiful and Spencer knew how flustered he gets around women, let alone attractive women.

“OMG I am so so sorry! I didn’t mean for you to get hit by my frisbee. I just have a really bad aim,” the woman frantically apologized as she bent down to pick up the frisbee.

“Oh uh i-it’s okay. I’m positive I didn’t sustain any physical damage given the frisbee’s speed, trajectory, and force. Actually, if you had thrown the frisbee with a little more force and 20 degrees more to the left, then the frisbee would’ve reached your friend,” Spencer replied as he looked toward where she came from, her friends watching their interaction a couple feet away.

Spencer turned back towards the woman to see that she had been staring at him with an intrigued look on her face. “Wow. I don’t know how you know that, but I’ll take your word for it. I’m y/n by the way,” she said with a light chuckle.

Hearing her laugh, Spencer found himself yearning to learn more about the woman standing in front of him. Normally, whenever he started rambling or spilling random facts to someone, they usually have an aching look to leave the minute he finishes. There was just something about y/n that he couldn’t quite figure out as he stared into her y/e/c eyes.

He felt himself smile back at her, “I’m Spencer, nice to meet you.”

“Nice to meet you too, Mr. Genius!” Y/n said as she extended her hand to Spencer.

“It’s actually Doctor. The uh the amount of germs transferred in a handshake is enormous, it’s actually more hygienic to kiss,” Spencer shly said looking at y/n’s hand.

Y/n giggled and quickly put her hand down. “Okay Doctor Genius. I don’t kiss someone until after the first date, but if that’s your way of asking,” y/n teased.

“Um I-I d-didn’t mean it like that. I’m sorry, but I really would like to get to know you more. Maybe get some coffee?” Spencer was surprised at his confidence to ask a woman out without being coached. Morgan would be so proud of him.

“Sorry I don’t drink coffee,” y/n started, but paused when she saw Spencer’s brows furrow. “But I would love to go grab some ice cream. I’m sure my friends would be fine with me ending our frisbee match early, if you’re free now?”

Spencer couldn’t surpress his smile as he nodded, “I’m definitely available.”

in a word- yeah!

both squirrelflight & crowfoot r definitely a Lot happier in his relationship thn thy r in canon! i think their relationship would strike a good balance of teasing to genuine, stopping eachothr from falling too much into self doubt... i think the fact tht their relationship would be an active choice thy hav both made 2 fight 4 n continue having would do a lot of good for the kitz!

crowfoot still haz a bit of an emotional distance from his children, partially born from the conflicted discomfort the whole ordeal of pregnancy brought him, howevr- he rly doez care very deeply 4 thm & is able to show it much better thn canon crowfeather did to breezepelt...... like he bounced from the nursery as soon as it waz possible, but from there still visited near daily

course the 3 still feel a little Abandoned, not by any purposeful actionz of course but tht doesnt make sleeping without their parent any less painful....... but crow is still the first to go to bat for junipershade [somthing tht is equal partz appreciated & annoying as hell 4 him] givz suncloud tipz on how to use his bulker shape to his advantage [second hand- he asked squirrel 4 tipz whn he noticed him struggling in training] sitz with midnightbreeze & actz as a mostly silent springboard 4 her ideaz [she tend to overthink wht the optimal way of doing any such thing would be] tho of course there r dayz where seeing his kitz remindz him of how squirrel n him r in different clanz & he tendz to avoid thm thn.. this inconsistency causez the 3 a bit of grief, it can be hard to deal with not knowing if yr dadz gonna take one look n run away or if hez gonna share tonguez n be vv caring on any given day

squirrelflightz relationship with the 3 m still unsure of.... idk when or how thy find out about her n stuff like tht is very important to how thingz shake out in the end! in any case from her side she Hatez having to watch her kitz grow up without her- it doeznt help tht her n crow actively try to avoid interacting very frequently at gatheringz... but she doez go out of her way to try n start up conversationz- learn who her kitz evn R

therez also the matter of nightcloud! the assumed othr parent- course, she isnt, and her n crow nevr talked about her taking tht role... whn the 3 were first born she avoided thm bcuz her n crowz friendship waz on the rockz- by the time she realized tht this waz her chance to be a mother, which she greatly wanted, the kitz were already apprenticez- tho she doez try to reach out to thm? midnightpaw SUPER lookz up 2 her, sunpaw feelz a little awkward around her but is genuinely happy about her making the effort to be in their livez evn if itz late, n juniperpaw is Bitter & also clashez with her as he haz the tendency to seek out malice in actionz where there is none...

as for brindlefoot!!!!! his relationship with squirrelflight is a bit odd in tht squirrel treatz him like her son [of course] but brindle seez her as & treatz her like an aunt [very painful 4 her] hez resentful towardz his bio parentz for leaving him behind n feelz a void in his life despite squirrelz best attemptz... but he is a good deal less? murder-y? thn in canon? 

brindle n crowz relationship for sure startz off like. soo super bad- he feelz rly hurt by the fact tht crowfoot didnt keep him but did keep his siblingz, as at som point he somhow findz out about who his father unbeknownst to any1 else & startz building a resentment towardz crow bcuz he THINKZ wht happened waz tht crowfoot left him 2 die bcuz he didnt want him, as he isnt aware of squirrel being his mother && the case being tht she actually just wanted him so much

  Melodie: Oh you bet we are. I’m a little worried about her though, I mean did you see that bruise? 

Melodie: Also she is precious and very sweet. If she doesn’t seem uncomfortable with the arrangement, we should keep hanging out with her. 

  Felix: Are you referring to the bruise on her face? It did seem unlikely to have been caused on accident.

  Melodie: WHAT BRUISE ON HER FACE?!

  Kid Mime: SHE HAS A BRUISE ON HER FACEEEEE?! MOMMM SOME1 HURT UR NEWEST CHILD!!!

  The Mom Friend: Wait wat? When did you see that Felix? r you sure?

  Felix: On Thursday, when she seemed overly tired. She was falling asleep in class and her palm wiped some make-up off of her face. She excused herself to the bathroom when she realized, but I did see a rather concerning bruise on her face, and there seemed to be scratch above it. I assume you were referring to another bruise?

Author’s Note: So basically, they're worried, but want to respect her privacy. I could have just said that, but I love their interactions.  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯  They're all just such sweethearts.

One thing I forgot to put in the note at the end of chapter 6 was my reasoning for Marinette getting to that point. I forgot one big reason (I'm sorry. This is why i need to write things down.) But for the most part it's that Marinette often takes the blame/apologizes for things that aren't her fault, so I feel she is quick to blame herself. That, combined with how she sees the good in people, I think she could have trouble identifying that she isn't at fault for how things turned out at her old school.

Okay, so this past weekend I was struck with the ability to write - don't ask I don't understand either - so basically now I'm writing chapter 11. Yeah, I managed to write the next 4+ chapters in a day. As much as I'd love to post them all now, I need to keep a regular schedule for the sake of my sanity and still need to edit them a bit. But hey, at least there's no chance of waiting too long now.

I really love seeing your comments so don't be scared to write one! I can assure you that it's one of my favorite parts of this.
