1 bcuz hes always been a macdennis truther. and 2 for revenge he can get payback on Rob and Glenn for finding it funny to put him in situations they know he really hates and tried to get out of bc hes so touch adverse like kissing Kaitlin or that ski episode scene.

fire in my soul: Nicky's favorite Italian restaurant is on his block, and it redeems itself from its hispter name and decor by dint of comforting lighting and Italian staff. He never brought his last girlfriend here.

drunk on rosewater: [sorry this one is so explicit lol] Nicky moans as Joe slides two fingers into him yet again. It feels like it has been hours.

Sunsets and Dooryards: "Nico, you don't have to be ready," Joe says, hands soothing where they rest on Nicky's arms. "You can change your mind now, and you can come back in a month, or a year, or never."

the moon and its eclipse: The club is filled to the brim with pulsing music, songs that Nile remembers from parties just a few infinitely distant years ago. She hasn't grown out of her taste for tequila shots yet, no matter how much Joe makes fun of her for it.

stargazing: It is raining again, today. It is always raining here. December, nearing the solstice, and the slanted winter light has no snow to render it into brilliance. Katya misses Leningrad.

harbors of my own: Xie Yun yawns and blinks blearily at his laptop screen. It's really too early in the semester to be up this late, but he and Zhou Fei are far from the only ones in the library, despite it being comfortably past 1:00am.

throw open windows: The day had been balmy and beautiful, filled with brilliant sunshine that melted away the last heaps of gritty snow. Daffodils are blooming in the park.

hear those bells ring deep in your soul: It is dusk when Lan Wangji arrives. Wei Wuxian is still incapacitated in the cave, and has been fighting a breathless and futile battle against Wen Qing’s bonds for nearly a day, judging by the meager light that fades in and out from the cave opening.

wait for summertime: It had rained the night before, a summer storm that rose throughout the afternoon and left Xie Yun soaked and shivering when he knocked on Zhou Fei's door, but the morning of their departure is glittering and bright.

those looks at the start: Client meetings that take place in bars are stupid. Zhou Fei has said it before, and she'll say it again - anyone who is willing take a business meeting at 9pm over strong drinks is not someone they want to do business with.

It's my 3 year anniversary on Tumblr 🥳

For my 100th post I thought I’d share this little milestone and a quick story.

Fun fact I’ve been part of the pitch perfect fandom for years (at least 7) and I’ve read hundreds if not thousands of great works from many authors who have become my favorites. It was during 2020 when I decided to start writing though because I wanted a creative outlet at the time. So I trashed my old tumblr in ‘21 (may they rest in peace 🥲) and created one dedicated to my new journey. I hope in these last few years I’ve given people as many laughs and feel good moments as I’ve been given and I hope to continue doing just that. Even if I’m the last person in the fandom and I’m just writing for myself.

"what did students do before chatgpt?" well one time i forgot i had a history essay due at my 10am class the morning of so over the course of my 30 minute bus ride to school i awkwardly used by backpack as a desk, sped wrote the essay, and got an A on it.

six months later i re-read the essay prior to the final exam, went 'ohhhh yeah i remember this', got a question on that topic, and aced it.

point being that actually doing the work is how you learn the material and internalize it. ChatGPT can give you a short cut but it won't build you the the muscles.

truly some people have no genre savviness whatsoever. A girl came back from the dead the other day and fresh out of the grave she laughed and laughed and lay down on the grass nearby to watch the sky, dirt still under her nails. I asked her if she’s sad about anything and she asked me why she should be. I asked her if she’s perhaps worried she’s a shadow of who she used to be and she said that if she is a shadow she is a joyous one, and anyway whoever she was she is her, now, and that’s enough. I inquired about revenge, about unfinished business, about what had filled her with the incessant need to claw her way out from beneath but she just said she’s here to live. I told her about ghosts, about zombies, tried to explain to her how her options lie between horror and tragedy but she just said if those are the stories meant for her then she’ll make another one. I said “isn’t it terribly lonely how in your triumph over death nobody was here to greet you?” and she just looked at me funny and said “what do you mean? The whole world was here, waiting”. Some people, I tell you.

Thank you @kaydeefalls for the tag! I am (very slowly, as ever) working on the next chapter of Sunsets and Dooryards, a sequel to Waid's excellent fic The Vanish Zone.

"It's been nearly a year since Nile last painted anything. There is before and there is after - hers, theirs, and Nicky's. And further back, too. Before her dad died. Before she enlisted. Before she met Dizzy and Jay. Nile thinks about what Nicky said about his first life when they toured the Rock of Cashel a few days earlier. It sounded lonely, although she had hesitated to say so. But he must have seen it in her face.

"No matter what we gain or lack in each season, we keep the love that was there," he said. "And we carry it forward no matter how things end."

Her mom would love Nicky. When her dad died, she had told Nile, he still loves you, baby. And he's always going to."
