So we all agree Ping Pong sucked right? I decided to do my own take on a Dragon of Wood! Notes in case

Her new name is Antonia Perrine LeBois

From Seychelles, so we have an African dragon with the French heritage in tact

I MADE HER A GIRL SO KIMIKO WONT BE THE ONLY ONE

Angular body type to contrast Omi's roundness

Attire inspired by Hippie culture with a bit of urban so it won't look too outdated

Rectangular, pink glasses to contrast Ping Pong; literally "rose colored" glasses

Late bloomer; doesn't use her element until towards end of S1

Has a walking stick she carved herself before coming to the temple; combined with the Golden Peach to boost her elemental power

Kept the speedy aspects of Ping Pong but it comes out in bursts; mainly uses staff to fight

Also some bits from Willow; being a teenage girl who meets the Monks during an attack & infuse energy into objects

Rarely wears her hair down, prefers dreads and twists

Now for storytelling: Antonia and her sister Willow Jean were born in Seychelles but moved to France for their father's cancer treatment. After he died their mom sought comfort in working a lot, leading to emotional neglect. Over the years Willow Jean formed a clique and a rep for her bad attitude and strength. Antonia sought solace in the forests near her home.

Willow eventually left Seychelles to enroll into the Xiaolin Temple first for internet clout then decided to steal the shen gong wu. She escapes and ends up joining Chase as his apprentice. Back home Antonia learned that her sister was missing so she went to China to look for her. However she wasn't prepared for the journey and ended up getting attacked by some monsters. The monks rescued her and took her in.

Antonia tells them she is Willow Jean's sister and is looking for her. They tell her that she tried to steal the Wu..Antonia is in disbelief, while she is aware of her sister's flaws she didn't think she go this far. She tells the monks she will try to convince Willow to come back home. When they finally confront Chase Young Antonia finds Willow Jean, now calling herself Shadé. She tries to justify her actions by claiming shes doing this for their family but Antonia disagrees. Now seeing her sister for the powerhungry jerk she is, Antonia vows to stop her & the Heylin. Her determination along with finding out her family's past connections to the Xiaolin prompts Antonia to join the monks as their apprentice. Eventually her connection to nature leads to her developing powers over plants and trees, albeit very slowly.

Antonia is pretty chill around Jack, in a "you do you, I do me" sort of way. In fact her chill relaxed personality hides an anxiety that 'maybe I am weak as my sister says I am maybe I don't have it all together' but learns to rely on true friends and that family isn't always biological.

Some headcanon about jack spicer's parents, I drew this for fun. I realized that heylin was fighting against minors most of the time, so I hope to add some adult characters who can bully them, because I really like watching heylin being bullied.

I made up their names, using the homonym of 娘, 爹 and 弟兄

I know these names suck.

In fact, they exist to make chase wuya bean appear more legal when staying at Jack's house...

Now for a little special treat for today, some character onions I use as reference for how I characterize Feng Spicer and Future Omi.

If you haven't used a character onion before, the pattern is that the character in the center is the core character, or the main blueprint for who they are. The inner circle is the characters that they have the strongest associations with the character, usually they have very strong parallels in personality or themes. And the outermost circle is characters who also hold significant analytical value, but can range anywhere from vibes to sharing a few notable aspects with the character.

Cringetober Day 1: Heterochromia

SUPER LATE but here's my piece for the first day of Cringetober! She's my redesign of Ping Pong from Xiaolin Chronicles. Her new name is Antonia "Rina" Perrine LeBois and she is from the island of Seychelles. She has heterochromia, one dark brown eye & one light green.
