You look down at your buzzing phone and smile.

FRANKIE:I've been thinking about you all day

You look around your little bookshop, then look back down at your phone-

YOU:Have you? I have been thinking about you too

FRANKIE: How about some breakfast for dinner?

YOU: It's my favorite!

Things are going pretty well with Frankie. Really well, actually.

At first you weren't so sure, after a wonderful evening with him. You made pancakes for breakfast, he stayed to eat and you walked him and his dog Raffi to his truck. He cupped your cheek and kissed you softly, lingering, standing in the sparkling snow. Everything seemed great and then you didn't hear from him until Christmas Eve. He came into the bookshop with his partners. From his descriptions the night you were snowbound, tree lights twinkling, you were sure you knew who was Will, Benny and Santi.

It was Santi who shoved him toward you muttering "pendejo", Frankie just looked at you all puppy eyes and so sheepish you were sure his first word to you would be 'bahhhhh". He explained the farm was so busy and then he got in his head and worried he had waited too long and then he he did wait too long, as he kept talking himself out of calling or stopping in.

"I'm not very good at this.," he told you.

"You're fine at this," you countered.

So to make up for it, they were all going to do all their holiday shopping at your store and he was going to beg you for forgiveness. Laughing you wondered aloud f it had something to do with a bunch of guys putting off their shopping and now needed help to get it all done. The one you were sure was Benny called from the stacks, "Well, you got my number!" Making you both laugh, and Frankie look toward Benny's voice, muttering.

So you helped them cross everyone off their lists and chatted with Frankie about what gave him cold feet, and ultimately you let him off the hook reminding him the phone rings both ways. You could have, should have, checked in. That maybe you got into your own head a little as well.

Now it's springtime and at the tree farm the guys are preparing for "pick-your-own" berry season and corn and pumpkin planting. Busy, but not slammed as there is no customers until summer. Making plenty to time for the two of you.

FRANKIE: I know. Pick you up after closing?

You text him in the affirmative, reminding him you just switched out of "winter hours" which added an hour before closing.

FRANKIE: fine

YOU: XP

Frankie arrives right at 6, as you shut up the shop for the night.

"I guess I don't quite need the added hours, yet."

"Things will pick up, there's definitely more traffic down here," he assures, while wrapping you up in his warm arms. He comes around to open your door, and then gives you a wink as he crosses back to the drivers side, then climbs in.

"So gallant" you smile.

"Yeah I am." Frankie gives a playful pat to your thigh and tucks his hand between them. Not overly high but enough to cause your tummy to somersault.

At the diner you give your breakfast order, Frankie orders the same, adding a side of pancakes to share.

He is perfect, you think.

I truly hope that if I am ever in a situation where I am photographed while in a performance-type space, I am photographed by someone who treats their subjects and process with the same dignity, respect, and good spirit as you do. I love seeing your dancer photos cross my dash!

Action photography gives me the same serotonin rush as shooting moving targets with a bb gun. When you get a good shot you feel like... super accomplished because it's not easy and you have to practice at it.

But also, I have to remind myself that just because it comes easy to me doesn't make it any less of a SKILL. Like when I do sports candids for my job I'll be like... meh... yeah...I guess I did alright. And then ill see what other photogs do (most of the ones I work with, including my mentor, prefer staged settings) and it's like... ah... no... no, I have a knack for this.

It helps, though, that dance and performance are things that I enjoy and sometimes participate in, so I know the subject. I had to learn sports a little against my will in order to get decent at sports photography. I still don't know what the fuck is up with football, though.

That said, there's a competition at the end of the school year that I'm hoping a few of my sports shots will win. I'd share them with you, but because they contain minors I'd prefer not to until I get a consent form.

What are your thoughts on deraciné (the VR game that fromsoft made)? It's pretty obscure but it has a wonderful story (and plenty of bb references to the point that there was a rumor that it was supposed to be bb 2)

Sorry, I forgot about this ask as I read it when I was still in the bed and could not answer... But yeah, for now I don't know anything about this game! I first even heard it mentioned in Zullie's video about the Wormfaces, but I already was surprised why I literally never hear about it? ...and now that you've mentioned it is VR I guess I see why :') ...or maybe VR is way more common thing abroad and it is JUST obscure.

I simply quick-checked a few letsplays on Youtube to get the general idea, and it seems to have a really beautiful atmosphere? I just already really love the designs and the locations! Bloodborne's aesthetic is my favourite out of Soulsborne games; Victorian-ish vibe resonates with me more than other games sorta medieval fantasy setting. So yes, artistically, of course I love it! If I am not wrong, it functions like point-and-click adventure but in 3D. I will be real, I've always been absolute moron at point-and-click games for some reason?? Well, yeah, in any case, it seems like it is a lovely game! Actually when I tried to look what it was about, I got reminded of Bloodborne not only because of the designs and atmosphere, but also because of the system. Before I could buy PS4 and Bloodborne, I was stuck learning BB lore all by myself through descriptions, awful quality videos that never showed me what I NEEDED unless by accident, screenshots and images, datamined models and names, all that... And the way I had to move around everything I could to connect together the pieces and figure out the story and headcanons myself? It reminded me of how this game is played in particular. No combat, but just puzzles to solve and things to find. I am sorry if that makes no sense, the reasons brain activates distant memories sometimes can get too obscure or even random.

ooo there's a lot - there's so many amazing fics out there with amazing writers, but one that had me ever since i read it was We Wear Red So They Don't See Us Bleed by CaptainMerchant on AO3. I absolutely love the way they wrote sam and danny in this and it was a huge inspiration for day 7: patching each other up in my 30-day writing challenge (dw i spoke with them before i wrote it 🫡)

🪻- what is the toughest thing you had to go through, but can say you’ve successfully overcome?

it's hard to name just one. there's many things that i've gone through that i can't imagine going through again - things that i wouldn't wish upon anyone i guess i'll go with my period of severe separation anxiety from my parents, which lasted all the way up until 4th grade. yeah, i was that kid. looking back at it, i'm embarrassed about a lot of the meltdowns and things that i did, just because i didn't want to be separated from my parents, specifically my mom. i never wanted to go to school and would pull any trick in the book to stay home. even at night, i didn't want to be without my mom. i shared a room with my sister, but i'd always leave to go get my mom and my dumbass would tell her that i missed her lol. i even cried randomly in class and when the teacher asked what was wrong, i told her that i missed my mom - i mean, shit, i couldn't even do any curricular activities (things that i really wanted to do!) because my parents wouldn't be there anyways, i think this is also a really tough thing for me to reflect on because it reminds me of how close i used to be with my mom - how for the longest time, my world was centered around her and no one or nothing else mattered as long as i was with her. now, i'm not as close with her. we've had a lot of fights and i find myself dreading being around her often for reasons i'm not at liberty to publicly say. she's said and done a lot of mean things - things that i can't believe she could've said and done, but i still love her very much and i know she loves me. it's just hard to remember those times when all i wanted was her sorry that was A LOT.. my bad!

I'm never around for the drama that unfolds bts since i don't hang around in the fandom much. so these are my (mostly) unbiased opinions lol

when i see comments saying cps don't have chemistry in dramas i end up confused because i enjoyed their drama because of how good they were romantically lmao even if the plot is weak. but honestly im not the best judge at that because if i don't vibe with the drama, i usually say it's not my type and move on. the fact that the plot could be at fault never crosses my mind until i see others opinion [looks at hidden agenda] (im sorry HA enjoyers im glad you liked it but it wasn't my type)

probably why i was able to enjoy bbs and its our skyy 2 and thought ohmnanon had strong chemistry. it was only after our skyy 2 did i know about their "break up" and that was very weird to me because they seemed pretty good friends in the bts I've seen. i wasn't a fan but i did like them a lot. And then i see comments saying they did not have chemistry in our skyy 2 which always gets me cause wdym they didn't look like they were in love

another one would be jimmysea in vice versa that some seemed to think got no chemistry either which i don't agree with because while the plot was all over the place with the constant ads, i never felt like they weren't into each other. i struggled through the drama because i wanted to see them end up together cause they were cute af. saw someone say it's probably because they don't fit the uke/seme stereotype which could be it? idk. I'm not a fan of the actors but im glad they got last twilight cause they seem to be nailing their roles in it.

unpopular opinion im guessing but i thought perthchimon had romantic chemistry in dr. i won't say it's strong like others but i watched it for them so. the theme didn't remain the same after ep 2 but a cute bl is up my alley so I wasn't that disappointed lol. though they can't kiss for shit lmao but im not the one to shame them and i hope they get better at it if they have another bl. i watched nlmg after and chopper stole the show for me. i liked both of them in it too (more than the mls but it's mainly because i couldn't stand their dynamic. phuwin character being whiney and having pond character fall for him again annoyed me because it reminds me of futs and i was against them ending up together in it lmao. i just wasn't able to get into nlmg much. genuinely no offense im glad there are others who enjoy them fr)

I get where you’re coming from, I'm also someone who doesn't engage in fandom very assidiously although my desire to know everything about everything means I usually know what's going on regardless whether I particularly want to or not. A lot of information seems to just randomly fall into my lap!

I partly agree with people who say that the OhmNanon chemistry was somewhat diminished in Our Skyy 2 though not so dramatically that it wasn't enjoyable.

Agreed on JimmySea and Vice Versa, I don't actively hate it but most of the reason I stayed was them. Those ads truly did some damage there. Last Twilight, though, holy shit! I would now kill and die for JimmySea. I really don't know if their distance from the usual relationship roles had anything to do with their popularity - or lack thereof -, it's really not something that had occurred to me before now, so thank you for that fresh perspective!

Yeah, Dangerous Romance wasn't excellent but I've seen much much worse and while it's true there's a lot of room for improvement ("PerthChimon can't kiss for shit" got a genuine laugh out of me), they weren't completely unsalvageable.

As for PondPhuwin, Phuwin does seem to get that type of character a lot and in terms of their dynamic, it can get old fast. I will say, though, that FUTS had me laughing irl a lot so I tend to hold a little more affection for it than I do NLMG. But that's just me.

And hell yeah for that last part! The discourse that pisses me off the most about BL is when people get upset about couples in stories not conforming to their idea of what a relationship should look like. If I'm being completely honest, I think GMMTV tends to use the same dynamic more often than other production houses which I sometimes find extremely frustrating because when something new and different comes out a lot of people get upset it doesn't align to the standard GMMTV sets by virtue of being arguably the most popular producer of BL.

ever since finishing watching khdr, it kinda made me reflect on how kh is yet another one of those games that emphasize how everything isn't black and white, good and evil, or specifically, darkness and lightness, and i really like games like that, games which pull off really nice moral grayness, albeit kh's notoriously chaotic lore, it's not perfect but i still love it nonetheless.

now i know this statement will sound completely out of pocket in comparison to the first paragraph, but i've been having thoughts about xehanort in genshin impact. AHAHA YEAH VERY RANDOM. i think its his talk with MoM about what he learned after travelling, and how he mentions delusions, i guess it reminded me of genshin and the fatui? he lowkeeeeeyyyy gives off a bit of zhongli vibes with the whole the world needs order. idk i just think hed be interesting in genshin :>

anyways i just really adore how xehanort is yet another morally gray character apart from MoM. his juxtaposition with eraqus (that was touched up on from bbs which i liked), who absolutely believes light is the only right way, while dark roads was exploring how it's more than just light is good darkness is evil. i mean, sure i get that pretty much all of the kh franchise explores that topic, but i guess dr (and i guess most of the mobile games?) is one game that tackled this head on? again, complicated lore with all the hearts and souls and whatnot, especially w sora now sent to the quadratum.

xehanort, from the start, is shown to be a pragmatic/realist/logical character. even from bbs, you might say that my moral compass could be a bit off, but when xehanort talked about how light and darkness go hand in hand and how you cant have one without the other i completely understood that and especially throughout dark road. like, i guess in my opinion, it should be a given that there can NOT really be a "soul with pure light" that harbors NO darkness, this is probably the realist in me talking AHAHA. and throughout dark road you can really see how xehanort is starting to come to realization and opening his eyes about the complexity and grayness of dark, light and hearts.

it's also worth noting that dr was quite focused on world order. and how darkness comes to play in world order, therefore ruling out that darkness is inherently bad. and then we have baldr 😭😭💔 god the last episode devastated me. but what baldr said really does i guess hit the nail for xehanort about the whole light darkness thing, maybe it's what set him on his path?

listen, i still don't fully understand the kingdom hearts lore. i'm still very lacking on it as a whole. but i guess my take away from dark roads is that after everything that happened, after xehanort becomes a keyblade master, his goals are to 1. in order to prevent the world falling to chaos by letting the pure darknesses grow and take over, he wants to, i guess somehow, purge the impurities (both light and dark) using kingdom hearts so that the true light can be created?????? IT MAKES NO SENSE I KNOW, and i know that the purging pure darknesses w kingdom hearts was debunked in dr, but i guess im just really drawn in by what xehanort said to MoM about how there is darkness in everyone's hearts and that's what i mean about the darkness he wants to purge. then again, at this point i may as well have forgotten the storylines of the games older than khddd so whatever he might've said in bbs ive completely forgotten 💀

2. i never believed xehanort had malicious intentions. xehanort just wanted answers. and he's grown to a point where he'll do what he must to get them even if the sacrifices that he makes are deemed immoral. but doesn't this also happen with those seeking to purge darkness? the sacrifices they had to make on their journey, the friends they lost, people would just tell them that they were a necessary sacrifice for the sake of the world, as baldr has pointed out. basically, xehanort isn't like maleficent who purely wants darkness to control the world or something like that, even though he has this awareness that power is needed to fulfill your goals, he's doing this more for answers than evil. because since the beginning, xehanort has always wanted answers.

eugh yeah this is.... an absolute mess.... honestly speaking, i probably COMPLETELY MISUNDERSTOOD THE ASSIGNMENT AJSDBFKSJBF ugh honestly im not that good at deep diving analysis, but i just cant not be intrigued by xehanorts character! the deeper lore opened up by all the games! because MAN things got a whole lot more complicated interesting and i just wanna enjoy kh content man :")

My version of an MVC4 Roster:

I'll be real: I think I cooked with the Marvel side, but I don't know about the Capcom side. I've tried to be as unbiased as possible.

For the record, the main concern with the Marvel Roster was fixing the CRIMES commited by MvCI. Thus, the first 24 base roster characters are returning faces. I separated them in groups (Avengers, Spider-Man, X-Men, Supernatural/Magic and Cosmic) and then did Heroes, Villains and then Newcomers in each. I wanted to have a roster that would make the most people happy (if it were up to me, Captain Marvel wouldn't be here), bringing back some familiar faces (Ghost Rider but no Blackheart felt like a crime to me). Also set myself the goal of bringing in as many cut characters from the previous ones as I could, even if they can't be base roster. Let's be real though, I feel like Blade could sell a whole DLC pack by himself in the same vein as Vergil. I ALMOST didn't put Deadpool here... But if Ruby Heart is Base Roster for Capcom, Cable had to be base roster too. You understand. Speaking of which, this was CONSIDERABLY easier than the Capcom side.

Here, the point wasn't to correct anything, but rather make sure the usual suspects got represented, but leave some room for the deep cuts, so I set myself some goals: Goal 1) CLASSIC Mega Man! He and Roll and Wily were a MUST! Zero and Vile are there for the X Series and T-Bonne for MM Legends. Goal 2) As much gameplay diversity in SF as possible, one character for each: Ryu for 1, Chun for 2, Gil for 3, Juri for 4, Rashid for 5 and Bison is supposed to be based off his SF6 gameplay style. Goal 3) Get the MvC2 trio back! Amingo, SonSon and Ruby Heart SHOULD be put in a Darkstalkers game in the near future for the love of GOD! Speaking of which... Goal 5) REMIND THE WORLD THERE ARE MEN IN DARKSTALKERS! Morrigan returns, obviousIy, but as much as I love Felicia and Hsien-Ko, it's time for the boys to play! Jon Talbain, IMMEDIATELY, and Lord Raptor because I NEED the world to see him turn Thanos into a basketball and DUNK him straight to Hell! And YES, Jedah comes back! He HAS to! He's too cool not to! But the main reason I went with Jedah and not Dimitri is because Midnight Bliss would take a LOT of resources we probably already blew making sure Mystique can copy everyone without issue. Goal 6) Resident Evil. Look, I'll make a confession: If it were up to me, there would only be Jill and Wesker here, but RE has become so MASSIVE that we HAVE to pay it the respect it deserves, so I did what I though would be a proper compromise: Jill and Wesker for RE staples, Leon for the Remakes and Lady D to represent the obligatory new Poster Monster of the franchise. Let Chris and Nemesis sit this one out and keep Jill's gameplay more like her MvC2 style and we are golden! Goal 7) THAT DLC IS FOR THE FANS! I wanted to put in a mix of characters that Capcom fans would want first and foremost: Vergil, to continue the tradition of him being the Special Edition/DLC character, Donovan and BB Hood for more Darkstalkers love, Gil to round out the SFs, Monster Hunter because it's MASSIVE nowadays, Vile, for one more Mega Man villain and Jin and Captain Commando for the Oldies that mained them in MvC2. Full disclosure: Edward Falcon WOULD NOT BE HERE if Power Stone hadn't just announced a comeback earlier today. And Regina is here because... Well, because you Dino Crisis stans went absolutely CRAZY this year. I'm not gonna lie. You guys kinda scare me. But you wanted her, so here she is! So yeah. If anyone asks WHY Amaterasu is Main Roster, it's because I got Rocket in there and it only felt fair. I DO regret leaving Frank West out this time, but I couldn't find a way to fit him in without taking out someone that SHOULD have been there... AND YES, LUCIA HAS TO BE THERE! Sharky is kind of harder to get motion sick because he does have the advantage of being born in the ocean so…He's used to that sort of thing, like a ride or whatever isn't going to give him motion sickness, he gets it more from like…Being thrown around rapidly with 0 control or from magic use or things like that…

So for the other thing…So…him being a shark yeah? So a reminder; Sharky can throw up his entire stomach, like wholeass organ…This is because he's a shark and it's something Sharky REALLY REALLY FUCKING HATES part cuz it's so weird, part cuz it's disgusting and part because it fucking hurts since he's very not used to doing that…Sharky can vomit up either his entire stomach or he just throws up normally…Sharky doesn't really have much control over this but if it's a higher stress situation, it's gonna be the entire organ coming up. (this whole bit happens more if Sharky's scared or very fucking stressed or in a big emergency sort of thing…Otherwise, Sharky's probably gonna just throw up normally…) Sharky learns he has this ability during the series and i kinda megadoubt he ever utilizes it like Slash does BUT Sharky does learn how to control this a bit better and when he feels it happening, he tends to insta-calm down to try and prevent the whole thing from coming out… 🦈🦈🦈 Max: Max defs gets motion sickness probably the worst…This is probably another reason why Max isn't the biggest on dizzying shit or boats or things like that because it probably fucks him up alottttttttt… Unlike Kristy he has no magic And unlike Sharky, Max does not have any sort of help from the ocean soooooooooo…Yeah, rip dogeboi [i kinda feel like Sharky throws up more then Max does tbh but i think it's cuz Sharky's put in more situations where that can happen vs Max…] 🐶🐶🐶 Now for sickness sickness, i feel like Sharky probs gets sick in that way the least cuz of his height honestly (it's harder for germs and shit to bother him if they can't reach his face…If somebody coughs near him, it ain't gonna be near his face so…) I feel like Kristy's second And i feel like Max probs has it worst here again tbh (i defs feel like Max has really fucking awful allergies tbh…Idk why but it's a vibe i get, probably if i had to guess, something with his fur picking up things that make him sneeze and cough and whatnot, rip dogeboi again)
