real people cant queerbait, sure, but celebrities often arent acting as real people, theyre selling you a persona and can intentionally mold that around queer audience engagement in some cases. and thats murky water but still undeniably wet. plus whatever misha collins did of course

Scared people in fandom are often the loudest, and one thing I have observed over this last month is that Buddies are very loud right now. They have been since Tommy returned, and I think--nay, I know--that a big reason for this is because they realize deep down that Tommy has a lot of potential to stay long term. That the writing is treating Tommy extremely differently from Buck's other love interests. That the writers have laid out a very solid foundation from which Buck's relationship with Tommy can organically thrive within the overall blueprint of the show, should they wish to continue with this storyline. And Buddies know that the longer Lou/Tommy sticks around, the faster their dreams of Eddie being queer and getting with Buck circle the drain (if there was ever even a chance at all, and I don't think there ever was).
And see, normally, I wouldn't revel in something like that. Normally, I would feel sympathy and say, "I'm so sorry. I've been there many times, and here's to your next ship being canon!" But when I see people commenting on photos featuring Lou/Tommy, and saying shit like, "Everyone looks so beautiful. Except Lou, who I could go my entire life without seeing anymore of," and generally trying to bully the actor via whatever means are available to them, and on official social media outlets, no fucking less, I can't bring myself to feel any sympathy. At this point, I'm happy Buddie isn't happening, because if there's one thing I despise, it's to see awful, entitled, nasty ass people win. And whether these Buddie or Bust assholes want to admit it or not, they lost. If Tommy doesn't stay long term, they lost. If Tommy disappears after the season seven finale, they still lost. Put a fork in it, yer fucking done.
And to my fellow BuckTommy fans, thank you for being everything the Buddie shippers think they are. Y'all have been a pleasure. Y'all have been articulate, positive, celebratory of inclusivity, and generally level-headed. And above all else, I love how fast so many of you are to call out the bullshit, almost always with some kind of receipt at hand. I mostly see fandom as a huge negative these days (and I still firmly believe that in most cases), but BuckTommy has been a nice exception.

Something I love about Heartbreak High is how when we first see Amerie's perspective of what happened at the festival everything is good and Harper is happy and jokes around with her but then when we see Harpers perspective you suddenly notice how unsure and uncomfortable she actually is. Like she doesn't smile as much and it's a little more fake and she's being much more serious, for example with the "I think my house is haunted" moment and also when her dad texts her. But Amerie didn't notice. Which is why she didn't realize something was going on with Harper and why she couldn't imagine that anything had happened that day. In her memory everything was great and perfect when it in fact wasn't. And I think that's a really cool way of showing both their perspectives because while overall they both remember the same things, their perception of How it happened is different

Hobie: Not to be homophobic, but do you really have to make everything about your sexuality?
Kraven: What do you mean?
Hobie: It’s just that putting ‘gay’ into your legal name is weird, and also feels like forced queerness tbh
Kraven: …Sergei. My name.
Hobie: Might as well change it to Limp-wrist McGee
Miles, literally fighting for his life in Kraven’s net: wow this is such a productive and useful discussion for society

yuuta exhibits such previously abandoned, recently adopted dog behavior. incredibly anxious all the time, even though nobody’s out to get him or leave him behind. waits for you to return home or from school or from work excitedly, just to see you when you walk through the door. follows you around senselessly, hovering in your space just for the sake of companionship. initiates affection in prodding ways—starts off next to you, then a hand on your thigh, then deems it safe to lay all the way down, then slowly pushes his head into your lap. gets up whenever you need to get up, and resumes his position as soon as you’re ready. brings you gifts as a sign that he’s thinking of you, and maybe because he likes the affection it brings out in you, maybe because he likes the gentle affirming touches of a hand in his hair or a pinch to his cheek. rests his head on your stomach or his chin on your shoulder when he’s sleepy, stays there, immobile, and will not move unless absolutely necessary. sometimes he gets surprised when he hears you calling for him, there’s a moment of disbelief as he thinks “me? really? you need me?” but it’s very quickly overshadowed by this compulsive need to show up, to please, to do anything for you, which is why he always answers when you call. he doesn’t realize that he has puppygod eyes, especially when he’s excited or confused, but he does and it’s incredible endearing. very reluctant to share your space or attention after a while, considers that to be sacred and he won’t risk being let go or lost again, so as a safety precaution, he keeps himself right by you, waits for you always.

it’s so funny going into monsterfucker spaces and seeing people argue about whether Venom is a tame monster crush or not and I think I figured out why ppl argue about it. I think there’s two separate levels to liking Venom and people just don’t specify which one they’re talking about
the first is what most people think of: you want Venom when they’re in a separate host and in their more humanoid form. they look like just a really tall guy, and you’ve got some monster traits involved but not quite as many as level two. this is the tame level.
the second level is when you want to be their host. you’re pulling an eddie brock— you’re fucking the slime that lives inside of you and cannot take on a humanoid form outside of yourself. it’s just a mass of black goop that lives in your organs and speaks to you in your head. this is why some people would consider Venom a more extreme monster crush

Some of you might be mad at me for saying this but "Mel is not an evil person, but a complicated woman who comes from an imperialist nation and despite it all, she rejects these values and choses peace" and "Mel as a person with the most influence in Piltover is as responsible for the state of the Undercity as the rest of the council, and it is their ignorance that leads to their downfall" are both statements that can co-exist actually.
