On one hand, Walker’s comment was hilariously unwarranted 🤣
But on the other hand, this is pretty cool!

If I had a nickel for every time a Red Room Assassin shared a deep, unnameably loving relationship with a mild-mannered man who could turn into an undefeatable monster, who could merk everyone if they have a bad enough day, and they alone shared the ability to calm them down....I'd have 2 nickles.
But it's weird that it's happened twice.

Yelena and hugs (featuring Bob, who needs all the hugs he can get, though he’s a bit hesitant hugging people back because of, well, ya know)

First thing I noticed was the artwork, and the second, that there’s a story that inspired it.
Though I haven’t read the story (might check it out), the vibes I’m getting from this artwork is kind of a “Please don’t do this”/“You know I’ll still be here, I believe in you” feeling from Yelena, and a sort of regretful, stuck-between-a-rock-and-a-hard-place type of emotion from Sentry!Bob.
I don’t know if that was the intended vibe, but regardless, I like the artwork 👍🏼

No one:
Absolutely no one:
Me, and my neurospicy brain: Ok, but look. Listen. Look and listen. So, Boblena was not a ship that I initially wanted, searched for, or accidentally meandered into. I find pretty much all m/f ships boring and/or forced. But Florence and Lewis - with those subtle yet intense gazes and casual, comforting touches - had me in a chokehold from the very first moment.

Yelena is the peanut butter because she is totally one of those freaks who just eats spoonfuls of peanut butter for a snack and Bob is sweet like Jelly

Earlier I had this funny thought/idea, whereby this thing (whatever it is) is happening and Sentry — oh, god, for lack of a better word — YEETS Yelena headfirst into action (she’s somehow agreed to it beforehand??) and she goes flying, batons swinging 😅
It’s like… you know how Alexei launches Yelena in the movie? Imagine that but even better, when because of his strength Sentry launches Yelena like a paper airplane 🤣 (she’s fine, don’t worry about that)

Bro killing Taskmaster was fucking stupid. There was no reason for it????
Her existing at all as a plot twist in Black Widow was incredible. Imagine if she was able to be deprogrammed and her and Yelena were friends?
Her going on to heal her sister's soul in that way?
She may not have been able to save Nat but she could have found love and friendship in her biggest regret.
Idk something to think about.

I Love Bob and Yelena
This is kind of a ramble but I need to get it out of my system. The heart of this film for me really was the relationship between these two characters. However you view their relationship is up to you, but I think all of us can't deny the incredibly strong and powerful bond they have.
Yelena knew Bob for only a few hours and chose to help him. I like to think she saw a part of herself in him. Bob most likely felt similarly when he looked into her memories. Both characters had their own struggles and their ways of dealing with them even if those methods were not healthy. But that changed when they met each other. This movie's climax is something that is going to stick with me for a long time.
It wasn't repressing your feelings or hiding from the world that saved Bob; it was the love and support of Yelena and the other Thunderbolts. And that meant the world to me. It can be so easy sometimes to just run away and hide. Sometimes, the darkness feels so overbearing and so consuming that nothing can break you free. When Void took over, Bob hid in the only place he felt safest: his room. But even then, his parents' fighting could be scene from between the floorboards. And when Bob was fighting Void, he was almost consumed by the darkness. He quite literally was beating himself up. And then Yelena showed up. She fought her way over to Bob and held him, letting him know she was here.
And like, that is just so freaking beautiful.
Her love for him helped bring him back from going further and further into that dark place. It reinforces the movie's message of love, friendship, and support for each other. Life can be so lonely and brutal at times (I've been there and it really really sucks). But sometimes, all it takes is that special person or persons to just be there with you and let you know you're not alone or that you're going to be ok. This movie made me so freaking happy I tell you.
If we're going even further down into my brain spiral, the other reason why I love Bob and Yelena so much is because they really remind me of the best aspects of Jaime and Brienne's relationship from Game of Thrones. I do not say this lightly when I say that that their relationship (romantic for me) is something I hold very deeply and closely to me. Jaime, for all his faults, grew to respect and love Brienne. Brienne was highly criticized by the society of Westeros for her looks and by choosing to be a knight rather than a "proper lady." Here comes along Jaime Lannister, who is the equivalent of the most popular boy in school, and he grows to care for her. On the flip side, Jaime represents many things Brienne is against. But she still helped him when he needed it most. He even opened up to her about what happened with the Mad King. And just as he grew to care for her, she grew to care for him.
What does this have to do with Yelena and Bob you may ask?
Well, it's the idea that two people who have been through a lot, maybe even have made mistakes, and they find each other and help each other. Together, they grow and make each other better people for it. Call it soulmates, life partners, romantic, platonic, however you choose, it's a concept I love dearly and something I saw with Yelena and Bob.
When he truly needed someone, she was there.
And at the same time, she grew as a person, allowing herself to feel her feelings instead of bottling them inside. I need to watch the movie again but when she confronts her past in the void, the way she interacts with the memories stood out to me. The biggest one when she protected her younger self from witnessing the punishment the instructor was giving. Yelena feels so much pain from everything she's been through but found that avoiding them wasn't making it feel any better. I loved the scene where she opens up to Alexei and I can imagine she felt so much better afterwards.
But going back to Bob, she found a kindred spirit in him. They both led each other towards a new path and I find that to be so incredibly beautiful and moving.
And to anyone who's struggling out there, you're not alone. Life is so beautiful and I hope you find joy and love and happiness. You're worth it ❤️
