If you’re afraid of reading anything written by anyone with conflicting views to you because you think consuming media of “the enemy” will lead to thoughtcrime, you should perhaps do some deep thinking on the religious trauma you still need to deconstruct, and examine why you have replaced religious dogmatism with an ideological dogmatism your belief in is somehow so fragile that simply reading the wrong thing could shatter it.

It is important to read things, even doctrine heavy manifestos, by those ideologically opposed to you. It is important to understand their viewpoint and the people that wrote them.

Understanding is NOT agreeing with. Reading is NOT agreeing with. If you do not understand, do you even know what you are opposing? If you do not understand what you oppose, do you even know what YOU believe?

The less you understand those you are against, the less you understand about their beliefs, the shakier your own arguments, the more susceptible you are to propaganda, and moreover, the more likely you are to Other them. Normal human beings are capable of absolutely terrible things. YOU are no less capable of absolutely terrible things because you think the Right Thoughts ™️

Miles is roused from sleep by sunlight shining on his face. Slowly, his eyes adjust to the light, until finally, his scope of awareness broadens to a body he had been sleeping on.

Phoenix finally notices his observer, and turns to look at him.

Phoenix takes Miles’ hand in his, and lifts it to gently kiss the ring on Miles’ finger. They both move to share a kiss, and their hands shift to hold one another. Miles’ ring sparkles in the sunlight.

They link their fingers as they kiss, and the morning creates a quiet atmosphere around them.

They part, but remain close, their fingers fully interlocked. Phoenix greets “Good morning,” with a tender, loving expression as he looks at Miles. Miles’ own expression is soft, unguarded, and fixed on Phoenix.

Phoenix and Miles settle back into their shared bed; the morning sun illuminates them. They both smile softly, seeming happy and at peace. Miles rests his head under Phoenix’s neck, and his hand on Phoenix’s chest. One of Phoenix’s hands rests over Miles’ own on his chest, while his other hand holds Miles closer, revealing a matching ring of his own. Both rings shine softly in the sunlight.

There are few things I hate as much as shows for children being rebooted as shows for adults. “But it’s for the people who grew up with the show and are adults now—” I don’t care. I think things that are good and pure and safe should remain good and pure and safe for the next generation. I think if adult fans cannot appreciate a clean show about their favourite characters from childhood then they can go watch something else that was never meant to be safe for children in the first place. “But it’s more realistic if—” Not for me, and not for the characters as they were originally written. Just admit the characters don’t matter to you as much as capitalizing on nostalgia to make another adult sitcom that’s exactly like every other adult sitcom, and while you’re at it, that you don’t think today’s children should be able to enjoy the same pieces of media that you grew up with. Like, when all that is said, who is this ACTUALLY for?

Here is a reminder to the witchcraft community that you do not need to double down.

If you believe a common misconception, and someone else responds with evidence that the thing you believe is wrong and historically inaccurate, you don’t need to die on that hill. You can go “oh shit, I didn’t know that! Now I’ve learned!”

It wouldn’t be a common misconception if it wasn’t. Y’know. Common. Lots of people believe the fake thing. They’re wrong too. Sometimes you’re wrong, and that’s okay. You don’t need to get offended. You certainly don’t need to pull out easily debunked “sources” to try and back yourself up. You’re making yourself look silly. Just be excited you learned a new thing. It’s okay.

Also, if you’re going to claim that your blog is even vaguely concerned with history… maybe pay attention to actual historical evidence. That’s also a suggestion. Y’know. Just saying.

"I think the biggest thing I miss from being organic is eating, yunno?" His voice trailed off as the conversation diverted into something new.

"hold on you have a neural interface with your mech right?"

"Let me see the port,” before verbal consent was given he reached for one of the cords that were meant to plug into his machine. Gently he traced the rubber to its tip and took a long analytical glance at the output end of the node. After he was satisfied he dropped it without care.

"hold on. I think I have something." And he left him outside without another word.

Curious, he followed him to his workbench. Littered with various parts, projects, and tools. Most for his mech others for body modification. It was hard to observe exactly what he was trying to do without distracting, so he decided to stay surprised. Rummaging through drawers for electrical bits and bobbles ports, wires, resistors, lightbulbs. Anything he deamed useful placed alongside the cornucopia on the bench. He sat down on one of the work stools.

After a couple of flashes of light from the solderer and heat gun, he one again turned to face him. "here we are" he drew in close, reaching for his neural connection again,"if you can synchronize with a mech then why not another person" he paused. Face slightly blushed with the implications of their blurring boundaries shattering.

He just nodded and took the hand that held the makeshift adapter, drawing it closer to it's target.

He placed his end first. A soft click and a flicker of a small led light. The other connection was a tad more robust. As it slid in the crackle of electrical feedback gave way to a slurry of information. Thoughts that weren't his, the feeling of his hands within another's, standing while simultaneously sitting, the soft lull of music being played in the back of their mind.

The thoughts fired at a different language than his but somehow he could still understand their intentions, a mixture of curiosity, excitement, embarrassment, distraction, and passion.

And his vision.

Their vision.

The double, no, quadruple input of signals lead neither one of them sure of where to focus.

It was almost overwhelming.

He could feel his heart racing.

They simultaneously disconnected.

One stunned with heavy breathing, both with electrical fans going haywire. They stared at each other in silence. Neither certain of the implications of this act but knowing that whatever it was it changed their trajectory forever.
