it's quite unusual for itto to feel genuine anger or even worse, say things in the heat of the moment because of it - things that he's had in the back of his mind, that were never supposed to be said out loud.

it truly has to be a day, when everything goes wrong - whether it's actual trouble or a fight with his gang members - itto would never lash out purposely or take his anger out on you, but when you scolded him for his childishness that day, it broke camels back.

itto stopped as soon as he saw you tear up and wipe your eyes; his breath hitched in his throat, the look of regret on his face took over and suddenly - no words could go past his lips, despite his mind spinning and trying so desperately to find something.

for the next few days, itto is nowhere to be seen - neither alone, or with his gang - he's actually silently processing past events at grandma oni's home. the scarlet eyes stare at the floor helplessly, switching between determination, wanting to do something to make it up to you, and sorrow - the thoughts whispering that you won't forgive him anymore; the guilt of bringing up your worst insecurity weighed on his shoulders more day by day, forcing his eyes to tear for hours - only to harshly scold himself and thinking how undeserving he is for crying, when it was you who truly got hurt.

the moment Grandma Oni asked itto what happened - itto told her everything, but declined her help; it was his responsibility to fix this, and finally, finally - he felt the strength to do it. the same day, Arataki Itto ran past the city to complete the first mission of his "Please, I'm begging you to forgive me sugarplum" plan.

He spent an entire day making the most beautiful bouquet of flowers that he laid his eyes on - dendrobium, sea ganoderma, fluorescent flowers he found on the way, hell, on his way back he probably got scammed by a fontainian merchant for rainbow roses with his few mora left. also, probably got slightly hurt by specters while collecting sango pearls to use it as finishing looks for some flowers.

what's next? a letter! except it's a letter from itto, and wording what he truly feels is worse than getting beaten up by kairagi. it's actually worse than climbing up inazuman hills and fighting whoever "wanted to take his flowers because he was first." either way, after spending hours, itto wrapped the letter in an envelope, careful not to tear the paper with his long nails.

since he had the spare key, he decided to bake you a cake at your place while you're at work. you can probably guess, we're about to witness a disaster.

is itto good at cooking? mm, yes, but baking... is a different story. let's say, at least you're impressed at how much you can mess up a cake, after seeing a green blob on a baking tray and depressed itto crying into your wooden table.

"m' sorry sunshine, i tried, i really really tried, but the greatest arataki itto has been defeated by a cake. A CAKE!" itto sobbed, "after all my hard work! listen, maybe i added too much flour and i almost grilled the onikabuto i caught for you, and the cinnamon that spilled in the bowl was a liiiiitle bit too much, but-"

before he could continue, you made a decision to cut his rambling short with a kiss.

after you pulled away, he cupped your cheeks and nuzzled his forehead into yours; "im sorry sugar. i really am, i-" itto let out a sigh, "i shouldn't have said that. i don't mean it. i didn't mean it. i was frustrated, but it was wrong of me to take it out on you."

the oni was prepared to hear rejection, but feeling you embrace him, he hugged the life out of you back, placing small kisses on your shoulder and twirling you in the air, before yelping and falling on the floor from his injuries.

well, at least you liked the flowers.

You hid in a corner behind a door so he wouldn't notice you. You held your breath, scared that he could hear every movement of yours.

God, hide and seek was stressful.

Especially with your other classmates.

And class 1A always got competitive.

There weren't many great hiding spots in the dorms, so that made it 10x harder.

Shoji was the seeker this time. At least it wasn't Bakugou. Though, it was still stressful with all those other parts he could create and all.

You heard Mina scream and then break out into laughter near where you were hiding. You were definitely screwed now.

But you just stayed put, breathing as quietly as possible, praying that he would just pass your hiding spot.

You closed your eyes, hoping that it would maybe make you invisible or something.

But suddenly, you felt Shoji pull you into his big arms.

You giggled, and tried pushing away to hide again, but he chuckled softly and moved down his mask to kiss you on the cheek. "Got you."

"Dang it, Shoji!" You crossed your arms, pulling out of his. "I thought I really had it this time."

"Sorry." He rubbed the back of his neck and gave you a soft smile.

You couldn't help but love that cute face.

"Well, you better find the others before time's up." You placed a kiss on his jaw and walked back to the couch where Bakugou was complaining about Shoji cheating.

Choi Yikyung was so very glad he never had to work with a person as scary as Seo Dawon.

“Sign here.”

That, naturally, made this situation seem a little counterintuitive—why he was sitting in a chair in an idol’s home, his body shaking, with none other than Seo Dawon gently shoving a pen into his trembling hands. He had to grip the heavy, fancy, and oddly intimidating pen very hard in order not to drop it.

Looking briefly over the outlined terms, but feeling far too anxious to absorb much of their contents, Choi Yikyung’s hand twitched towards the bottom of the page. There, his signature soon appeared with a wobbly, notable, lack of finesse.

“I’m done.”

Actually, Yikyung thought his voice sounded steadier than he expected. Maybe Seo Dawon didn’t notice how nervous he felt.

As he tried to return the pen to Seo Dawon, his outstretched hand was snatched instead. All Yikyung could do was flinch before his arm was being lifted up, up, until it reached the edges of Seo Dawon’s lips. A soft, cool kiss was pressed to the back of his knuckles, accompanied by a quip of a smirk.

Yikyung’s heart felt like it was going to beat out of his chest, this damn guy’s natural charisma was enough to make his breathing short.

“Please take good care of me in the future, manager.”

“F, Future?” Choi Kiyung knew he was the manager, and Seo Dawon was now technically subordinate to him, but why did it feel like he was the one being dragged around?

“Yes.”

That single word was punctuated by Seo Dawon’s criminally charming smirk. Somehow, it looked like the sort of face someone wore when scheming.

“Aren’t you looking forward to our future together, Yikyung-ah?”

It was obvious Seo Dawon was teasing him, but even so, Yikyung couldn’t stop his face from heating up. When phrased it like that, he made it sound like they had just signed a marriage certificate, not a working contract.

Here is a snippet from the unfinished, untitled and unpolished chapter 2 of my fic The Seeker's Chronicles :

"May I use the phone ?"

The ticket seller jumps in his seat, in a way that would appear almost comical if it were not for the dire situation. His wide eyes lock onto the woman in front of him, before they close as he breathes out in relief, finding the beloved mayor's assistant a much more welcoming sight than the cloaked redhead with menacing glowing eyes.

“O- Of course, Mrs Darlington, go ahead…”

She quickly thanks him, and goes to dial a number, the movements of her fingers quick and efficient. After a short moment, a brief sigh of exhaustion can be heard, followed by the grave voice of a man.

"Hello ?"

She speaks urgently, "Mayor Smallcat, good evening."

"Good evening Helen, what is the matter ? I thought you were at the magic show with Mr Darlington ?"

"I am or, well… the show's been cut short."

"Cut short ? Whatever do you mean ?"

She sighs, "To put it simply, the magician was some kind of… dark sorcerer in disguise. He made several young women disappear, I think he stole their souls…"

"He— Their souls ?!" he cries out. "Dear god, are you alright ?!"

"I am, but Miss Anders was among the victims though…"

"I am sorry, Helen…"

"Mayor Smallcat, there is something else."

"What is it ?" he asks. His voice appeared to have aged several years in seconds.

"Right after those events, a young woman showed up. She doesn't seem to remember who she is."

"A young woman ? Do you know her ?"

"No. I don't remember ever seeing her in town either."

"Never ? Did you notice anything particularly unusual about her ?"

“Unusual is the right word sir. She is not dressed like a lady at all, and resembles some kind of adventurer. She also carries a roll of parchment with her, and refuses to let go of it.”

"A roll of parchment ? What does it say ?"

"I don't know, she keeps it closed in her hand, she is almost clinging onto it for dear life."

"I see… anything else?"

"Well, she helped me find some clues about what happened, she was very fast at finding them… Maybe she's some kind of investigator ?"

A pause.

"Good at finding things you say ?" he says with a pensive tone.

"Yes ?"

"Could you bring her to the city hall, please ? I would like to have a word with her."

1. Why do you like or dislike this character? I love him so much because he's so interesting; I love the constant conflict between his fears and his love for the people around him; I love the dichotomy between how much of an idealist and dreamer he is and the harsh reality of life he lives. I love that he chooses to be kind in a world that would reward him for being selfish.

2. Favorite canon thing about this character? I love that he's a dreamer, always looking for hope even when things are terrible, and I love that he shares his dream with the people he cares about to try to give them the same hope he has.

3. Least favorite canon thing about this character? I don't know if I have a least favorite thing because I like the complexity of him but I think he has a tendency to assume that because his motivations are good, his actions automatically are justified or should be forgiven. I like that as a character trait but find it infuriating in real people lol

4. If you could put this character in any other media, be it a book, a movie, anything, what would you put them in? Let him live his western dreams put him in a spaghetti western and be a cool cowboy

5. What's the first song that comes to mind when you think about them? Well since he's from a musical the first answer that comes to mind is Santa Fe. But non-newsies music it's gotta be Tough to Be a Dreamer by Felix Hagan & the Family it's SUCH a Jack song

11. Would you date this character? If I were to date somebody and assuming he is my age then yes I would date him <3

I have so many lol scroll through my tag and you'll see but a personal favorite is that he watches the sunrise every morning because it reminds him that every day is a chance to be better and live the life he wants and be the person he wants to be

I think he's a comfort-over-style guy who also pays attention to the way things look because he's got an aesthetic to maintain. big comfy sweatshirts and flannels usually with jeans, I think, and beat up sneakers. i think he keeps his clothes until they literally fall apart so a lot of his outfits are worn out for real, not in a "I bought this from the store already distressed" way. also he exclusively uses over the ear headphones.

15. What's your favorite ship for this character? (Doesn't matter if it's canon or not.) it's javid for me it's always javid for me. it used to be jackcrutchie fun fact for people who haven't followed me for years and years, but I'm such a javid truther now. something something two people who meet and both think they're better than the other only to realize that they're way more similar than they first thought, and that they could have swapped lives if something had only been a little bit different.
