I think the thing that gets me the most about Devilman and all the sequels and future content is that, in a way, it’s all canon, and every iteration of the show or manga or anything is continuing the cycle. The most tragic thing about every story with Akira and Ryo is that it’s a never ending continuation, that’s repeating over and over.
It’s a continual loop, one that both changes and doesn’t change at the same time. That’s the true tragedy of it.
