10 years ago, TV shows that were cancelled after 2, 12-to-23-episode seasons due to poor writing/production/audience reception.

Now they're cancelled despite raking in awards (from multiple organizations) for writing/production/acting/representation, have large & devoted fanbases (that are doing most of the promotion of the show), are the highest-viewed show on a network/streaming platform, only air for 6 or 8 episodes per season. And they're cancelled more than once, if not also wiped from the face of the earth.

Make it make sense.

not to be like this but all of the posts (and there are many across multiple platforms) right now going "I mean obviously I'm not mad or whining or anything but it sucks that there's all these three week breaks, how am I going to survive, this is awful, I cannot believe this is happening to me" like, it does in fact come off as entitled no matter how many qualifiers are put onto it

and the a smaller subset of THAT going "CLEARLY C3 isn't a priority for the studio" or "they're obviously trying to kill C3" or even posting stuff that comes off as "um, don't they know that if they keep doing this I won't shop here watch anymore", like, come on

as a tangent, genuinely, I feel like a lot of people have trouble admitting that they don't actually like C3 so they get existentially worried about them losing interest over a slightly longer break because it'll force them to acknowledge that they aren't actually interested, but it's fine not to be interested!

anon just seems to not like fig/emily ngl its a such a nothing burger of a critique... how far fetched is it that fig realized how much her passing meant to riz and did her best to act accordingly? including going to bard class for the first time ever. reminder at the beginning of the year she didnt even want to go to school. she might not explicitly know riz's situation but he literally made her a binder to help her pass. i dont see it as her only motivation but it certianly got the ball rolling, before she started taking genuine interest. her whole character revolves around being in service to her friends. she literally becomes a padalin *for* kristen. you cant really get less self serving than that.

do they not realize that every action a character takes will be influenced by the player... because it is an improv game?

I def take any criticisms of emily’s roleplaying choices with much more scepticism than other players just bc emily has such a large (and to me entirely inexplicable) array of haters, at least some of whom are def just sexist. never forget or forgive naddpod reddit

admittedly, i don’t think anon is actually an emily hater, i could be wrong but i interpreted it as them hoping fig would have more of an arc of her own rather than tied to other characters? that said, i fully agree that since s1 ep1 fig has been all about her friends, and that binder at the beginning of the school year would be more than enough to flag to her that this is something riz really cares about, which in turn would make it something fig care about.

I also tend to think that we collectively aren’t giving enough credit to the time jumps? It’s been like four months now, of like endless study sessions and plans and riz going to a hundred different clubs, like we’ve seen five hours or whatever but it has been literal months and i am confident they would be picking up on each others’ stresses and focuses

i'm a big advocate for allowing people to consume "problematic" media or whatever. i believe that no media is ideologically pure. but. it's still crazy to me that south park, the most transphobic show on mainstream television, attracts such a big lgbt+ gen z fandom.
