I just added my hand made mandalas to our online shop! 🌱 They are stenciled on recycled glass, and the embellished ones use repurposed chandelier parts and vintage jewelry. 🌿 Creating these is a meditative practice for me, and I also love learning about the history of mandala making as a way to access inner harmony and to cultivate that energy in the spaces they situated. You can learn more about mandala making across different cultures on my blog (link in bio). 🌸 The mandalas are listed in our online store, but they are pick up online (I’m scared to post the glass!). Aren’t these mandalas gorgeous?! 🌺 As I’ve been preparing for our 10 year celebrations (Sunday April 16 😉) I’ve been researching the history of mandala making across different cultures and it’s so beautiful and fascinating! Obviously some cultures use a different name, but it’s amazing to see some of the similarities. This reoccurring motif of an intricate circular pattern as a creative practice of contemplation, transcendence and healing - and as a way to bring harmonious and uplifting energy to the space where they are made. 🌱 I’ve just shared a blog post sharing some brief descriptions and jumping off points to learn more - head to my bio for the link! 🌿 The images you see here are: a nature mandala from one of my workshops (we’ll be building something similar as part of the celebrations). The Mandala of Kalachakra Wheel from the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, A Rangoli made for Diwali, the Shrine of Hafez in Iran, an illustration by Hildegard Von Bingen (a 12th century German nun and natural history scholar) and a Navajo Sandpainting ritual.
