Janis: Regina look, I made a spoon crown!
Regina: Well, that explains why I have to eat this soup with a fork.
Janis: :(
Janis, placing it on her head: For you, you're my silverware queen.
Regina: Oh...
Janis: :(

"would you believe that my own mother who never cared to find me would willingly sacrifice me if it meant saving her new child? what a a totally expected surprise, don't you all think?"
yes, she is bitter. and yes, she is disappointed to hear that in her mother's opinion, she had lived long enough. despite the fact that they only knew each other for a few months.
it did hurt having to hear that; that nadia is never a choice her mother is willing to make. but she guessed that only is the logical continuation of being an unwanted child.
she could understand the choice somehow. but only somehow. yes, lizzy was younger. but nadia only had her mother whereas her far younger half-sister had entire families looking out for her. || @malka-lisitsa // x

something. about. the horror of being sent on an impossible (death) quest and obligations and hospitality politics. the trauma of not having a home, and then the trauma of being in a house that becomes actively hostile to you, one that would swallow you whole and spit out your bones if you step out of line. all of this is conditional, your existence continues to be something men want gone.
it's about going back as far as I can with the perseus narrative because there's always a version of a myth that exists behind the one that survives. the missing pieces are clearly defined, but the oldest recorded version of it isn't there! and there's probably something older before that!! but it's doomed to forever be an unfilled space, clearly defined by an outline of something that was there and continues to be there in it's absence.
and love. it's also about love. even when you had nothing, you had love.
on the opposite side of the spectrum, this is Not About Ovid Or Roman-Renaissance Reception, Depictions And Discourses On The Perseus Narrative.
edit: to add to the above, while it's not about Ovid, because I'm specifically trying to peel things back to the oldest version of this story, Ovid is fine. alterations on the Perseus myth that give more attention Medusa predate Ovid by several centuries. this comic is also not about those, either! there are many versions of this story from the ancient world. there is not one singular True or Better version, they're all saying something.

anyone else gonna talk about how Colin is the only member of his family that Anthony doesn't embrace when he comes back
and how Anthony is the hardest on Colin out of all his siblings and the most distant
and how Anthony was the only one who wasn't immediately happy for his brother upon the announcement of his and Pen's engagement other than Elosie (who was upset for different reasons)
and how Anthony then says he has a lot to talk about with Benedict and Colin and ended up knitpicking Colin's actions in his proposal and essentially said 'Well, at least you finally made a good decision'
and how Colin and Anthony have a very evidently fractured relationship that was conveyed just through that one small action of an arm pat instead of a hug
or do I have to go crazy about it all on my lonesome?

HOLY SHIT I FOUND YOU!! I SAW YOUR FNAF ART LIKE A YEAR AGO ON PINTREST AND I WAS LIKE DAMN THATS PRETTY FUCKING AWSOME BUT FOR THE LIFE OF ME I COULDN'T FIND THE ARTIST BUT I JUST DID, ITS YOU!!
I have no idea which art of mine you found from pinterest but based on what you're implying I lowkey think it's this screenshot redraw I made for the FNAF movie lmao (which I hope I'm right)
Unfortunately you won't get much FNAF art from me nowadays anon, ever since Ruin disappointed me immensely I've just lost most of the hope I've been clinging onto for the franchise, now I'm just here... reminiscing, watching from the sidelines, and making a once-in-a-blue-moon art for it if I'm feeling extra

Rules: Make a poll with five of your all-time favorite characters and then tag five people to do the same. See which character is everyone's favorite!
I was tagged by @suddenrundown, thanks for the tag! I was so tempted to put "eliot's baseball hair" but I resisted (also polls don't allow strikethroughs. sad). tagging @michinaranja, @vero-niche, @acidmatze and anyone else who wants to play!
