Rules and Notes

First of all, thank you for visiting this page. Even if you only skim this, I’ll love you forever. Most of these rules are pretty basic, common sense stuff, but I would really appreciate it if you read them. I know it’s long, but I’m just trying to make sure no one is offended or uncomfortable. I’ll try to make this as painless as possible. Bear with me. I’ll try to bold the basics.

I have a few verses to choose from, and I’ll probably place you in the one that will most easily fit with your character’s canon unless otherwise specified.

Butcher isn’t always the most pleasant person. Please know that anything mean said is not a reflection of the mun’s feelings. IC =/= OOC.

Don’t god-mod.

OC and Au friendly, but please have an about page so I can gauge whether our characters will be able to interact.

Memes and opens are free game – anyone can send one or respond to one. However, I may not respond for some reason or another: it may be in violation of one of my other rules, or due to external factors. If you’re worried that I missed something, feel free to come to me about it, but please don’t constantly badger me for replies. It’s rude.

I reserve the right to refuse to roleplay, especially if I’m uncomfortable.

DO NOT under any circumstances try to bring me into out of character drama. If you have a problem with me, contact me privately or just unfollow. Vague blogging, callout posts and the like are annoying, and I ask that you would tag them. This is something I will unfollow over if I so please.

I will be selective with my threads and who I interact with. I would love to interact with everyone, but I’m very busy with school and other blogs, and I don’t want to overload myself. If this bothers you, feel free to unfollow. If you have any questions about whether I have time, feel free to jump into my ask.

Also, I am far more likely to RP with mutuals. That’s not to say I won’t RP with those I don’t follow or those who won’t follow me, there may be exceptions. But it is far more likely. That being said: if I follow you, I want to write with you. Probably a lot. I’m just too shy to say anything because I’m a weenie pissbaby.

As for smut: first of all, I will not smut with anyone under the age of 18. Don’t ask me to; the answer will be no. And just in general, don’t come to me looking for smut. I’m not terribly good at writing it, so it’s very unlikely that it will occur on this blog. I need to be pretty comfortable with someone to smut with them. If by some miracle a thread is looking like it’s going to get smutty, feel free to hop into my ask and talk to me about it. We’ll figure something out.

In relation to that, please do not send me overtly sexual memes if we have not interacted. Kissing memes are fine, but I tend to get uncomfortable with anything beyond that. Please respect this.

I’m an adaptive roleplayer, meaning I’ll likely respond in a manner similar to yours. If you format, I’ll format. If you don’t, I won’t. That sort of thing. I also try to match length with my replies, but some days I struggle. If you’re ever unhappy with the quality or length of a reply, please let me know and I’ll do my best to fix it.

I don’t always get to things right away. I’m notorious for avoiding drafts, and especially right now, I’m pretty busy with schoolwork. However, sometimes I’ll reply at the speed of light. It’s really varied, and I’m sorry about that.

Sometimes, I’ll drop things that’ve been in my drafts for too long, or things that I feel aren’t going anywhere. If you think I’ve dropped/missed/lost something that you wish to continue, come to me politely and we can talk about it.

I’m admittedly kind of a ship-whore. If there are sparks, I likely ship it. I ship Butcher/Chemistry, but again, it’s rather unlikely that Butcher will engage in a sexual or even a romantic relationship. Them’s the breaks. BroTPs are great though. Also, I’m only human: I sometimes play favorites with my ships. Sorry.

Please please please DO NOT force a ship on me. It makes me extremely uncomfortable, and I will not hesitate to unfollow or even block you. I will try to politely let you know if I feel that our characters do/do not have chemistry.

Blog Rules (Mobile-Friendly Version)

Hello, my name is Skye (she/her, age 30+) and I’m the mun here. I’ve been RPing for nearly 20 years across fandoms and formats. If you want clarification on any of these rules, please feel free to send me an ask or IM. Rules are subject to change and will always be announced.

This blog is non-exclusive. I do not require my writing partners to be mutuals with me for interaction, however I do reserve the right to choose who to write/RP with. I often do not follow personal blogs. By that extension, I don’t have exclusives or “mains” when it comes to interacting with canon characters. If you follow back from a blog that isn’t your RP one, please let me know who you are. Mutuals-only blogs: If I follow you (and you’re active) and after a week or so I don’t hear back, I am operating on the presumption that you’re not interested in interacting and I will unfollow. Unless specified or requested, I won’t be blocking anyone, though. If you just don’t get around to it and you follow me later on even after this, I’ll very likely check you out again. There is a non-zero chance I will forget something and refollow someone who I unfollowed through this process at some point. If this happens and you find it annoying, please feel free to block me.

Communication is a must. I’m almost certainly going to be jumping into your IMs on first contact unless you have rules about not using it. Either way, I highly request that we chat a little out of character before the first thread is written so we can hash out dynamics ideas and headcanons to avoid conflicts or confusion. I may not always answer new asks/starters right away if we haven’t done this yet. My IMs are always open. Always. If there’s a question or concern you have about anything, feel free to bring it up- within reason. Criticism is fine, harassment is not. I reserve my discord contact for consistent writing partners if we’ve been writing for a bit feel free to ask.

Mutuals are always permitted the following, including but not limited to: Send whatever nonsense you want through asks and submissions. Steal my memes. Reference my muse and our threads outside of them. Tag me in whatever memes or posts you wish. Send in random starters.

This blog is multiverse. There is no singular canon to this blog. Interactions with one character will not change interactions with another character unless all parties involved want a shared story. Multiple versions and do-overs are always perfectly fine. I do RP with duplicates of canon characters, but for the sake of keeping my verses and plotlines straight, if we’re planning a thread and I already RP with another version of a canon character, your version must have a different dynamic with my character than the first one does. I will inform on this ahead of time when plotting.

No crossovers with other franchises/original settings and lore. I just find them messy to deal with. Phel is meant to exist inside the world and setting of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss entirely. I do accept random asks and commentary from just about anyone, though. If you have a Hellaverse version of another character, I will make an exception to this rule.

I prefer to plot things out. This goes for both story ideas and character dynamics. By default I presume Duedephelon isn’t connected to anyone nor do I expect him or his artifact to be recognized. However, I’m always open to both of these things and any ideas my writing partners may have about what any unanswered parts of Phel’s story may be.

You do not have to match my post length. I tend to be wordy in my replies, but this does not mean you have to do the same. If your style is an icon and a few lines, that’s perfectly fine. I enjoy quick one-liner interactions as well as the larger posts. Not everything has to be a grand story after all.

I have a post queue. Currently this means that plotted threads will be in a daily post delay with one post coming out a day. I may change this if the queue is backed up by over two weeks. However, roughly a week or so is the time expected for replies. However, don’t expect a hard timeline or ETA. You are always free to ask me where a post is in terms of drafted vs queued if it’s been a while. I will usually write the post, then talk to you about what’s in the queue in case we want to plan out any other details ahead of time. I do not limit how many threads I can have with any one person.

I don’t do NSFW RP. I mostly mean this in terms of smut RP. The source material can be fairly raunchy, yes, but I don’t prefer to write it. I also don’t write/reference anything extreme in terms of gore or taboo sexual content (I won’t list specifics here but if it would get someone arrested in the real world, it’s safe to assume it won’t be here.)

I don’t do fights or shipping scenes at the start. I don’t mind writing either of these but it shouldn’t be the first interaction our characters have. This is entirely a matter of my personal preference. I may occasionally make exceptions if it’s very well planned out.

I’m flexible with canon. Everyone has headcanons and parts of a series lore they don’t know or like. I don’t expect perfect lore knowledge or strict adherence to Hellaverse official lore out of my RP partners. However, unless someone’s headcanons or blog details specifies otherwise, I’m going to be operating on all available defaults for the shows as presented. If I assume something incorrect about your character, please feel free to correct me! I will always go through canon character profiles with the same bespoke care I would give to OCs. Everyone’s portrayal of a character is different, or even wholly canon-divergent, and I have no trouble RPing with canon duplicates as a result.

Please discuss any triggers or boundaries with me ahead of time. I don’t have any particulars that need to be brought up immediately, but I do assume that anything that goes on in the shows that inspired this character is an expected default in terms of subject matter and tone addressed. If there’s any subject matter you don’t want brought up, just say so. I want this to be a fun and safe time for everyone. Followers are always free to ask something be tagged for any reason. I tag my triggers as “tw ”

I have a day job schedule. I likely will not be able to be contacted, let alone post on most weekdays before the evening. Furthermore I have other obligations so there may be days I will be inactive. I ask you please be patient with me if I’m not there for a while. My time zone is EST (GMT -5).

I always plan fight scenes out ahead of time with RP partners. Phel is capable but not an expert fighter and isn’t intended to get into a lot of heavy action scenes, but in the chance they do I always want to plan out the outcome ahead of time in a way that will tell an interesting story rather than simply to showcase one character’s power over the other.

A note on shipping. Phel’s age is vague but his “actual” age will be close to that of a shipping partner if one starts. I don’t personally like large age gaps in ships and this sort of Schrodinger’s DoB was my solution to that. I presume he’s 18 or 19 (in Hell years) at a minimum but can be older. ICly, Phel is extremely hard to actually woo and anyone genuinely interested in him would have to be the one to approach him, but there’s no guarantee he will reciprocate. OOCly, I don’t often plan ships and prefer muse chemistry develop over the course of a story. Though, I am also okay with one-sided ships and if your character winds up feeling a certain way toward mine (positive or negative) go for it.

The Do Not Interact List

Here is the list of blogs I will not interact with:

Minors: This is a character set in a very mature franchise intended for adults and some kinds of mature content are inevitable.

Personal Blogs: Questions are okay but I want to focus on writing/roleplaying with Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel characters and other OCs.

Blogs that contain hateful content/ideals: Specifically if it’s the mun who expresses intolerant/hateful views. Characters can be huge assholes so long as it’s acknowledged. This blog is to be an inclusive and accepting space and a refusal to also do so is a no go from me. Tolerance requires rejecting intolerance.

we’re going back to our regular, post - holidays schedule this monday, january 8th ! hence here is some information about how things will work from now on. if i missed something or you have questions, hmu whether here or on discord ! you can find all the info under the cut.

ACTIVITY. we’ll require three replies to three different threads per mun a week, but if you can do more, please be our guest ! groups depend heavily on their members writing and we’re not an exception. for those writing more than one character, try to do at least one for each. during busy times ( and every time i feel the nagging need ) activity checks will be conducted via discord.

HIATUS. they’ll last as long as you need, but if it’ll be more than two weeks you’ll have to pop up every seven to ten days to update us or let us know if you’re still around / interested in staying with us. if you don’t, we’ll assume you’re not anymore and your unfollow will be posted.

WRITING. we’ll have two different types of just to an extent mandatory writing occasions: events, that will take place in more relaxed settings and mainly consist of special or specific affairs for the sanctuary ( harvest / planting seasons, anniversaries, birthdays, and any other kind of celebration; reunions, relevant meetings, and so on ) that will give us all the chance to explore our characters’ dynamics and strengthen ( or weaken *side eyes emoji* ) their bonds. and then plot drops, that will move, if you’ll excuse the redundancy, the group’s plot further, and will bear heavier and darker themes ( community struggles inside and outside of the sanctuary, possible losses, hostile encounters, missions, crisis, among others ) . these will change things around the place, and help you develop your character(s) within our main storyline and lore.

TASKS. new year’s goal ! we’ll start doing tasks between events and plot drops so you can develop your muse(s) in a more relaxed, different way. we’ll try to stay away from heavily written tasks, but we might have a few of those too, especially if you request them. goes without saying any suggestions or ideas are absolutely welcomed !

MORE CHARACTERS. from now on, current members will have the chance to have up to four characters in total, and then, depending on activity, you’ll be able to bring in more if you’d like and feel like you can handle them. just keep in mind our diversity rules before sending your app ! guidelines about the amount of characters one can apply with will remain for new members.

Update

so uh jumpscare. I finally did that rebrand I was talking about for years. Username change and everything (this is carmccannt, if you’re still confused).

I’ve made sort of a placeholder new masterlist for things I’ve been working on that don’t fit the fandoms I’ve been writing for previously. I WILL STILL BE UPDATING THE OLD MASTERLIST AS I WILL STILL BE WRITING FOR THOSE FANDOMS just not as frequently. You can still access the old masterlist via my pinned post (which is now the new masterlist).

So if I’m still writing for those fandoms, why am I rebranding? Because while I still enjoy writing for those fandoms, I don’t find myself spending any time actually within those spaces anymore or interacting with people in them. My audience currently is very tied down to what’s left of those specific fandoms and I want to move away from being associated with them and attract new audiences who will enjoy what I’ve been working on, but in order to do that I had to rebrand. I absolutely don’t have any negative associations with fandoms I’ve previously written for and I am very much still a fan (hence why I’m still writing for them) and friends with mutuals who have been there with me from the start but I just don’t have as much interest in it anymore as I do in new fandoms I’ve found myself in.

I get that this is weird and new and I totally get it if you’re not here for the rebrand or the new fics and you want to unfollow. I’d much rather you did. I don’t really expect anyone to stick around especially since I’ve barely posted any actual writing for months, but if you choose to stick around and read and like and reblog even if my new writing isn’t your thing, then I appreciate you immensely 🙏🏻🙏🏻

To be honest, I’m still gonna keep my tags (Car McCannt’s Writers’ Questions and Car McCannt’s WIP Weekends) simply because I am lazy and I also like upholding traditions. Um, I honestly don’t really know how to describe writing styles or mostly really any other artistic medium styles?? Ise told me once that my writing was loud in a good way, and Reese said that my writing is very earnest. I guess what I would say about it is that I try to fill it with emotion, whether it’s an emotional piece or something comedic. I’m a very emotional person and that’s how I connect with basically everything, so I try to connect with people through my writing by making it an emotional gateway so to speak

Yeah, I don’t know if that’s a writing style, but that felt good to say about it lol

9. Thoughts on cliffhangers.

They are so very fun when I do them >:3 But every time I’m met with one as an audience member I always do the surprised pikachu face aslkhgsdlgkhlgh

They’re still fun as an audience member, but I will be absolutely consumed with the need to know what happens next lol The worst cliffhanger I’ve ever been faced with was the cliffhanger at the end of The Mark of Athena from the Heroes of Olympus series by Rick Riordan, and I was caught up to the series so I had to wait A WHOLE. YEAR. JUST FOR HIM TO LAUGH IN MY FACE IN THE DEDICATION PAGE OF THE HOUSE OF HADES

I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU RICK RIORDAN EVEN THOUGH I WOULD HAVE DONE THE EXACT SAME THING BUT STILL!!!

10. Top three favourite fic tropes.

Found family, hurt/comfort, and idk man, I don’t really categorize fics into tropes in my head. I looked up fanfic tropes and the lists I got didn’t really give me something that I would recognize as liking a lot except the hurt/comfort one lol Uh, I like it when characters who aren’t shown interacting much in canon are interacting with each other and what their relationship is like. And I like reading about the same idiots falling in love a hundred different ways lol

19. Share a snippet from a wip without giving any context for it.

I know you’re probably fishing for more Meadow content, but I haven’t written enough yet that’s sharable without it being basically just the first three very short chapters aslkghslgkhs So here’s the last few paragraphs I have written for the John fic instead! :D

“Stop! Please, that's enough!”

The vision slows to a stop before slowly fading away, and John is back in his office again, his whole body shaking with fear and anger as he fights off tears. He breathes heavily and wipes at his eyes before he looks back over at the Light.

“Why would someone do this? Why would someone make this miracle without there being an end point? Why would they drag other people into it who don't want to get caught up in the entanglement of infinity?” he asks it with a trembling voice.

Because it is a miracle worth inventing. The Light says. Someone made my creator's existence, and they loved life and existence so much that they wanted to extend that joy of creation to others.

“They had no right,” John says, voice low and deadly. He grabs onto the armrests of his chair and grips them so tightly his knuckles turn white. “I want to meet them. I want to destroy them. Once everyone knows what they have done to us, they will all want that too.” He takes a breath to try and steady his voice. “How do we leave existence to confront this creator?”

The Light of Creation remains silent for a moment. I am built to be used for whatever my master's will is, so if you want to take me home to meet my creator and the creator of your existence, all you need is to say the word. We'll get the word out to everyone in this plane, and with my help, you will all be able to lead a revolution that will lead to the destruction of existence itself.

“That is my plan,” John says, eyes narrowed and his heart pounding in his chest. “And I will destroy anything that gets in my way.”

24. Thoughts on flashbacks/flashforwards.

Flashbacks and flashforwards my beLOVEDS!!!!! <3

Flashbacks are great because they could be used for such emotional depth or as comedic timing (I usually use them for emotional scenes that give context to the present) and flashforwards are great when you want to time skip and the comedic potential for those are AMAZING!!!

“So what ever we do, we’re not going to do x, right?”

*flashforward to the Event*

*they did x and are now in trouble*

Truly one of the best comedic tropes of all time!!!

25. Is writing the whole thing beforehand better or worse than writing it as you go?

I’m assuming this means writing it as you post it for like, multi-chapter works and stuff, and honestly, I think both have their strengths and weaknesses. Back when I was writing fanfic for pjo, all I wrote were multi-chapter fics, and I posted them as I wrote them, and doing that and having the feedback of people reading and liking what I wrote gave me the motivation to keep going, and it was the first time I almost ever finished a fic. I was really close to the end game in one of them, and it had a lot of chapters too and I had been working on it for a really long time, but between having Wattpad taken away for a long time because I was severely neglecting school and having to stop writing it, actively being bored with it and hating it by the time I got back to it, and, since it was my first fanfic and first and only fic at the time where it was a self-insert along with inserts of some of my friends, I started hating it even more because I my friendships with most of the people I was writing about were shaky at best and I was actively trying to get away from them at worst. May or may not be tangentially related to why I was hesitant writing another self-insert fanfic even if I’m the only insert.

But I digress

The downside to writing it as I post though is that I can’t go back and do major changes to the story once I’ve posted it and am actively working on it, and also the pressure to not abandon it no matter what because some people are reading it and are invested is real

With writing everything before I post it now, especially now that I’m working on two mulit-chapter fics, it’s harder to stay motivated because I don’t have that constant feedback to keep me going, but that’s lessened a lot by being able to share snippets of my writing in ask and tag games and talking about it a lot with people. And by not posting it right away, I can go back and make major changes as I see fit, whether it’s rewriting a whole chapter or changing a major event that affects the whole story and changing the structure of the story itself. I like having that freedom, but it is harder because with most of the smaller fics I write, I can look it over a couple of times and hit post and I don’t have to worry about it again because it’s out there. Now that I have the freedom to do as many edits as I feel are necessary while I work out everything else, I’m able to second guess myself and go through an endless loop of editing. And the project seems so much bigger because I’m trying to do it all at once, and there’s still pressure that I have to post it eventually because I’ve been hyping it up so much, but there is a little bit of reassurance that I can go fuck this if I want somewhere down the line, and yeah, people will be really disappointed, but they won’t be stuck on a cliffhanger or something and never get that closure.

I think what I’m going to do with the Julia fic though as a compromise is that I’m going to try and write at least all of Here There Be Gerblins, if not the next arc or two also before I start posting. That way I can get it out there as a motivator and still have that solid base of reassurance that I did okay with it before sending it out to the world. Also, having you as my beta reader really helps too lol :3 I almost forgot I was answering your questions, Sunny and was going to tag you as my beta reader, oops lol

30. Describe a fic that almost happened, but then it didn't.

I feel like I’ve answered a similar question to this before in a different ask game, but for the life of me, I can’t remember what the plot of the fic I was going to write but then didn’t was slhgslakdhglsdhg

I remember there was a prompt someone sent in last year, before I even made this side blog, and the person had just read the tumblr version of Drinking Your Feelings, and I had just reblogged a different prompt list than the prompt I got for that fic from, so when they sent in their ask, I originally thought it was for the new list and not from the other one. I had outlined the fic I was going to write for that before I realized that they probably meant the other one, and they clarified that they did want the other one which is how In The Lively City happened.

I know it was supposed to be blupjeans centric, but I think it had something to do with Barry and Taako being the characters actually present, and Taako was getting on Barry’s ass to make a move which he adamantly refused. The only reason I remember that is because I vaguely remember lifting that concept for An Unconventional Way of Getting the Light, but that’s all I remember about it

33. Give your writing a compliment.

I can, and have, made people go feral because of emotions, and every time I do I go ehehehe >:3 lol

36. How do you come up with fic titles? What's the one you're most proud of?

Most of the time, I write the fic and save the file name as a quick phrase of what it’s about, then when I’m done writing it and am faced with posting it on ao3, I drink some water, stare at my computer screen until my eyes lose focus and I zone out, and then I astrally project my consciousness to pray to writing gods that may or may not exist, then I come back into focus because I realized that I haven’t even opened up ao3 yet to get the draft ready, then I put the cursor into the bar to type the name of the fic after doing all the appropriate tagging, then I drink more water, zone out, try to summon the spirit of Justin McElroy because he’s the best at naming things, that doesn’t work, so I go over in my head everything I just wrote, and then finally I have a shitty idea that is decent enough to earn its place as title and I write it down then change the file name on my computer to match it lol

And the names I think I’m most proud of is a tie between A Song of Love Played Ad Infinitum, No Aliens On the Moon, and A Witness of Corruption

Those titles iirc actually came to me fairly quickly :3

Blog Rules (Mobile-Friendly Version)

Hello, my name is Skye (she/her, age 30+) and I’m the mun here. I’ve been RPing for nearly 20 years across fandoms and formats. Mun is LGBTQIA+ and thus this blog is queer-friendly. This characters is meant to RP in the universe of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss; no relation or affiliation to the creators.

Rules are subject to change and will always be announced.

This is a sideblog that follows back from @keeperofquestions. You do NOT have to be following or interacting with that blog to do so with this one.

The Obvious. Respect one another and our characters. I expect we will write with each other and not for each other, not presume anything about each other’s characters, and generally be here for the love of storytelling. This blog is non-exclusive. I do not require my writing partners to be mutuals with me for interaction, however I do reserve the right to choose who to write/RP with. I often do not follow personal blogs. By that extension, I don’t have exclusives or “mains” when it comes to interacting with canon characters. If you follow back from a blog that isn’t your RP one, please let me know who you are.

Mutuals-only blogs: If I follow you (and you’re active) and after a week or so I don’t hear back, I am operating on the presumption that you’re not interested in interacting and I will unfollow. Unless specified or requested, I won’t be blocking anyone, though. If you just don’t get around to it and you follow me later on even after this, I’ll very likely check you out again. There is a non-zero chance I will forget something and refollow someone who I unfollowed through this process at some point. If this happens and you find it annoying, please feel free to block me.

No crossovers with other franchises/original settings and lore. I just find them messy to deal with. This blog is meant to exist inside the world and setting of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss entirely. I do accept random asks and commentary from just about anyone, though. If you have a Hellaverse version of another character, I will make an exception to this rule.

I prefer to plot things out. This goes for both story ideas and character dynamics. By default I presume Duke Gusion to be recognizable by members of the Ars Goetia and others who would know a lot about them but the extent of which is determined by you.

I always plan fight scenes out ahead of time with RP partners. When writing fight scenes, I always want to plan out the outcome ahead of time in a way that will tell an interesting story rather than simply to showcase one character’s power over the other. However, Gusion is a powerful warrior and sorcerer that isn’t meant to be taken lightly.

A note on shipping. Gusion is an ancient, ageless being much like other known Ars Goetia in Hell and is likely to treat sinners and lesser Hellborn with finite lifespans more as children than as equals. With that keep the following in mind. However I have no issues with one-sided affections toward my character. ICly, Gusion is Ars Goetia and follows the strict rules and taboos regarding dating outside of the caste and its arranged marriages. Getting his attention on a personal level requires giving a very good reason for him to ignore those rules. OOCly, I don’t often plan ships and prefer muse chemistry develop over the course of a story. Though, I am also okay with one-sided ships and if your character winds up feeling a certain way toward mine (positive or negative) go for it.

THE DO NOT INTERACT LIST Here is the list of blogs I will not interact with:

Minors: This is a character set in a very mature franchise intended for adults and some kinds of mature content are inevitable. Personal Blogs: Questions are okay but I want to focus on writing/roleplaying with Helluva Boss/Hazbin Hotel characters and other OCs. Blogs that contain hateful content/ideals: Specifically if it’s the mun who expresses intolerant/hateful views. Characters can be huge assholes so long as it’s acknowledged. This blog is to be an inclusive and accepting space and a refusal to also do so is a no go from me. Tolerance requires rejecting intolerance.

It’s also how some stays are calling the ones who have morals stray kids antis like we’re not antis we just want to hold them accountable and bring awareness of what’s going on!!! I’m so glad that a few of us on here actually have morals and we’re not sucked into that mindset of keeping kpop over our morals

In a different topic but not really I was doing well but yesterday my emotional state hasn’t been well and I had an anxiety attack where I felt as someone was pressing my chest and making it so hard for me to breathe and I feel it was because I felt as if I wasn’t doing enough in boycotting like I am aware of what to boycott and I’m participating in boycotting but I often feel like I’m not doing enough and I feel like I’m being considered a performative activist and rn with people who are calling out others for not posting on their socials (I’ve been reposting and bring awareness because that’s all I can do and also participating in the boycott as much as I can!) for not doing enough but often times many people do know what’s going on but they don’t post it because their out doing protest yk or speaking out in public places. I too have been staying away from kpop twitter and kpop tik tok because some stays honestly don’t have morals and it sickens me even after trying to give them awareness they still don’t care!

Ohhh TRUST me I’ve gotten my fair share of people thinking I “anti skz” because I’m boycotting this comeback lmaooo

I’ve seen the boys in concert several times and I write hundreds of thousands of words in fan fiction about them in my free time. And I have a giant fucking skz tattoo on my arm that will only decay with my body when I die. To turn around and say I’m a “skz anti” is laughable at best. I’m losing followers everywhere and I couldn’t care less, like please go ahead unfollow me if you’re going to advocate against humanity

I feel the similar pressure of “not doing enough” so robustly. I am right there with you. It raises all sorts of questions about what I consume right now and how far so much of this extends. So much so that I’m like… how can I be writing about them when people are dying, and they’re staying silent about it? Even my own work makes me annoyed right now.

I will always maintain my stance and I will always advocate for my page to be a safe space, and that extends beyond just skz fan fiction.

So, let's start from somewhere.

I think the time passed is already enough for me to get back on my toes and start studying again. I already enrolled in 2 review centers; practice tests, lecture videos, and handouts are actually waiting for me to start scanning them. I read some articles as to why I am feeling like a failure and how to overcome it. I will summarize it here.

1. Challenge your thoughts

“People can cope with feeling like a failure by first recognizing that thoughts are not facts”

“When we realize that we are engaging in a negative core belief about the self, such as, ‘I’m a failure’, we can challenge the thought, see what thinking trap we are falling into, and evaluate the evidence,” says Lavelle. This will gradually break down the belief that you’re a failure.

Lavelle recommends keeping a thought diary. She says it can help you see what situations elicit failure and plan how you will challenge the thought with proof of your many successes.

2. Minimize comparison to others

Social media can make it hard to feel good about yourself when everyone’s accomplishments and victories are all you see. Not everything online is true and posts might not even be examples of things you truly value. You rarely get to see anyone’s struggles or setbacks. Still, it’s easy to get sucked into comparing yourself.

When you notice yourself falling into the comparison trap, you bring your awareness back to your own accomplishments.

Phillips says, “Remember that another person’s accomplishment does not take anything away from you. Nor should it reflect on you. If you’re going to compare, look at your past self to see how far you’ve come.”

If you notice certain social media accounts bring up feelings of comparison frequently, consider unfollowing them or taking periodic breaks from social media.

3. Notice the positive

“At any given moment, more things are going right for you than not”, says licensed professional counselor Gabriella Chisholm.

When uncomfortable feelings such as failure arise, Chisholm suggests practicing gratitude. She says to try and reflect on the areas of your life where you are doing well and feel fulfilled. Take a moment of gratitude for how you show up.

“Sometimes we just need a reminder that things aren’t all bad to get a balanced perspective about our lives and functioning,” says Chisholm.

4. Engage in self-compassion

Everyone makes mistakes. Yet, we often respond to these mistakes by shutting down our feelings or shaming ourselves.

Holding a negative perception of yourself can lead to feeling quickly defeated by challenges since it can seem like proof of what you already believe: You’re not good enough.

Building self-love and self-compassion are essential to turning this story of your worth around. It reminds you that we’re all inherently worthy.

If you’re hard on yourself, it can help to kindly validate your feelings. Chisholm suggests reciting a script in your head for when you’re feeling like a failure.

CB’s brain dump. What even am I talking about?

You know those burner instagram accounts that try to impersonate a celebrity or some fan account? Yeah one just tried to message me.

So I thought this account was a friendly fan account, the kind that post pictures and montages of a particular celebrity or fictional character or sometimes both. My account is private because I got an ex that likes to be nosey. This person had to request to follow me and their account was private too so I had to follow them back. Only to find there was zero followers and posts which is my dead giveaway of a spam account. They tried to message me a couple days ago and I unfollowed them. But yet in the back of my mind I thought this is a brand new fan account I’ll give it a chance. Nope. I guess this is the millennial way of scamming folks now? But we millennials (and some of Gen X) and onwards are tech savvy and can kinda tell if it looks fishy or is.

You know often times we hear of old people getting scammed and they drain their bank accounts for this fake person that will never show up. Or the scammers call them demanding they pay for something in gift cards and if they don’t pay something bad will happen. When I worked at a grocery store I often heard from customer service that someone tried to go in and withdraw their life savings and here came customer service explaining to this person to hang up and that who they’re talking to isn’t legit. They are often very thankful and would give us a card thanking us. I wasn’t in the customer service department but oftentimes the cards were hung on the employee bulletin board for all us to see.

Heck my grandpa on my dad’s side (God rest his soul) almost fell for a publishers clearinghouse scam. My dad and step aunt had to go in and investigate for him.

At the Urgent care I worked at we would often get these calls starting with “please don’t hang up…!” About donating money to the police? Like sir this is a medical facility that is owned by a corporation. I had another call from some people claiming we were some people we associated with (like a cleaning company or something) and wanted to talk to not my clinic manager, my district manager. They knew her name. THEY KNEW HER NAME! Just the first name but still that’s creepy.

I put them on hold while I tried to get ahold of said district manager and they hung up.

I could get into that AI is taking over scam calls nowadays and making very real sounding hostage situation calls. I know my mom is freaked out about that so now we have a family code word.

No I’m here to get my frustrations out about things I don’t fully understand and maybe whoever the heck reads this might not understand these things either.

What do people who scam do with their lives? How do you live with the fact that you’re scamming people and stealing their money? How does one live with that on their conscious?

I left the urgent care I worked at because of corporate policies that gate kept patients because I couldn’t tell them whether or not we can see them for that because that was considered “turning people away”. Imagine all the piss I took when someone waited a bit, paid for their visit and then they were told that we couldn’t help them. I was done. Place was driving me to the brink of insanity.

Do these people have lives? I imagine they don’t if they’re catfishing people to send them money to the point of cleaning these people out. They don’t have a life so they find someone to make a false reality with. These people need Jesus.

There is a special place in purgatory for imposters, thieves, cat fishers and scammers.

Another thing I do not understand is exes. 5 years ago I broke up with my first “real” boyfriend. We had dated for 8 months but looking back I was questioning my feelings on the relationship until something told me to leave him. Thank the lord I left his ass because when I would look back and reflect on that relationship, there was so many red flags I disregarded. I should’ve left when he said I love you on the second date. THE SECOND DATE. Or the time he went out of town with his family and didn’t tell me because he was afraid…? Or the time he would forget about some of my boundaries. Red flags galore.

I cut off ALL forms of contact with him when I dumped him. First it was so I wouldn’t be tempted to do what I call stalking and judging basically a form of bullying and that’s not good for you. Second was he would often talk about his ex when we were together. She too, cut him off and he was apparently sad about that? So I took a page from that girl’s book. Plus I didn’t want him talking about me to whoever he dated next. Like nope.

4 years pass with blocking this guy. I basically have thrived since that relationship.

This previous summer I get a text from a number I don’t recognize but I can see their Apple avatar (or whatever the heck you call those Apple wannabe emojis with your face?) I read the text and my stomach drops. Mr. Love you on the second date ex wants to chat because it’s been awhile.

DELETE the guy deserves no attention from me

Plus what part of 4 years ZERO contact said hey let’s chat?! Like I’m an old childhood friend.

Months pass by and it’s late November-December. Work is CHAOTIC. All those sickness that usually run rampant like colds, strep and flu are in full force. Everyone and their mother is getting seen at the urgent care I was at. Like there was nights I didn’t get out until 10pm (the place closed at 8) so I was busy and also depressed and had another stressor in my life

Unfamiliar number texts me good morning for like a few days straight, thinking it was some MLM or scam.

I delete it and move on with my hellish work day

Finally it texts again and this time I decide to ask who they are.

The ex I cut off. Texting good morning like I’m some friend. As if zero response from the summer text didn’t tell him anything.

Blocked. Goodbye. There’s a reason my breakup song was So long dearie from Hello! Dolly.

To anyone going through a breakup, you are strong, you are loved and you will get through this rough patch. Do not go running back to your ex even if you still have feelings. It will just hurt you more.

Relationships really change a person. Somehow I had trauma from this one. He never laid a hand on me but he was anxiously attached. Thinking about him was like nails on a chalkboard I couldn’t stand it. It took me 3 years to finally reevaluate and recover enough to go back into the dating pool. It took 4 years to not cringe looking at Spider-Man any thing. I couldn’t even watch a Marvel movie until last year. I will not step foot into an AMC theater and i absolutely will not ever watch Shape of Water again. It’s amazing how those things are just ruined for me because of a cringy relationship.

I came into writing this post with expectations to write about things I don’t understand, like scammers. I realized that didn’t have much depth to it so I talked about another thing that annoys me and here we are to an adhd brain dump of a post.

Moving On - Jack Harlow x f!reader

Meeting Jack one year ago and him asking you on that first date was possibly the biggest blessing and curse. The nickname Princess that he often used with you was one that was well suited for you considering he always treated you like one. It was for the simple reasoning that Jack Harlow was whipped. The boy loved the chase and when he finally caught you, he held on like his life depended on it. Even fans started to pick up on it and you two slowly began to become the internet’s favourite couple. Part of it was due to you both never shying away from sharing your relationship publicly, especially when both your careers were smaller in scale.

Now with his rise to fame, and his increasingly busier schedule, all of that seemed to slowly fade. FaceTime calls were scarce; growing longer in time between calls. It was frustrating to say the least, especially because it felt like you were putting in more effort into the relationship than he did.

Jack sighed as he ran his free hand through his curls. The other hand held onto his phone tightly in front of him as he stared at your face that was present on his screen. "I thought you of all people would understand this life. So why are you constantly complaining?” he muttered.

You scoff and shake your head in annoyance. One thing about Jack was that he was stubborn. The both of you had always agreed to be communicative during your relationship but whenever you tried to bring up something that was bothering you, he always took offence and an argument ensued. "I want to be dating you, Jack! Not my phone! You barely have time for this relationship--I'm always the one flying out to where you are or rescheduling my shoots. I can't-I can't keep being second place to your work," you say with a sigh. "You don't ever try to compromise--"

“Y/N you know that I’m busy—”

You furrow your brows, the pettiness rising within you. “You weren’t fucking busy when you were in South America letting that brazillian bitch prance around you—”

Jack clenched his jaw as he let out a steady breath, trying to remain calm. “Why do you keep acting like that trip wasn’t also work?” he interrupted with a question. “And I fucking told you before that nothing happened between me and her. She was exaggerating our interactions.”

“Jack you don’t get it! When you asked me if you should do that festival-you knew it was the only week I had free before my next project,” you frowned.

Jack let out a frustrated sigh, “baby I told you to come join me—”

“And I told you I wanted to go back home to see my family that I hadn’t seen in a year and I wanted you come with me and you still didn’t consider it,” you argue. “I always come to Lousville for you and you never do the same Jack.”

“Why don’t you cut the fucking bullshit excuses and just tell me what you want,” Jack said firmly, his tone and expression fully annoyed.

At that, you were truly baffled. You couldn’t believe your ears because after all of this talking, he still didn’t know the root of the argument. All you wanted was for him to be more considerate and spend more time with you but apparently that flew way over his head.

Taking in a shaky breath, you pause a moment before you let out a sigh. “I want to break up with you…Because I just can’t do this anymore,” you admit quietly.

Jack’s eyes widened as he let out a scoff, his face turning red with anger. "Are you fucking kidding me right now?! You’re breaking up with me?” he asked, his voice raising.

“Yes because you don’t care anymore!”

“You know what? Fuck you,” was all he said before he hung up the FaceTime call on you. He proceeded to toss his phone aside before he leaned back in his bed and ran both his hands through his hair then down his face. His heart rate was picking up and the urge to cry was overwhelming. “Fuck,” he muttered, his breathing now laboured.

It was now two months later and to say you felt empty was an understatement. You missed Jack more than anything. You thought you’d be accustomed to it from the fact that even while you two were together, spending time with one another was difficult. But now you realized you took the little things like your little nightly FaceTime calls for granted.

Since the breakup, you managed to cleanse all of your socials from all occurrences with Jack. Neither of you put out an official statement of the breakup but your fans were able to assume correctly with the way you archived all of your photos together and stopped posting him and showing your support towards his shows.

Now you were sat in a dressing room, preparing to go on Ellen. Your publicist convinced you it was a good idea despite you actually hating the tv personnelle.

“Okay Y/N. You’re on in five,” an assistant spoke, you nodding to confirm.

Also in LA, Urban sat in the van with the tv on, waiting for your appearance on Ellen. Jack was off doing something in preparation for one of his shows later that night which had Urban confidentally use the massive tv rather than his phone.

To his luck, Jack barged right in the second you appeared on screen. Urban slightly panicked, searching for the remote which made Jack laugh at his best friend.

“You’re watching porn on the big screen now?” Jack teased as he toed off his shoes before he glanced up at the tv. “Oh,” he mumbled, his breath getting caught in his throat as he watched you and Ellen greet one another.

Urban instantly felt bad, his fingers finally finding the remote. “I Uh-I can turn it off.”

Jack quickly shook his head, “nah. It’s fine,” he said, plopping down onto the couch next to his best friend. “The fuck is she doing on Ellen? She fucking hates her,” he mumbled, crossing his arm as he watched curiously.

After sharing greetings and talking about your newest project, Ellen started to ask the invasive questions. You truly wished you could’ve avoided it but knowing her, you couldn’t.

“So you’re recently single right?” Ellen began. You licked your lips in annoyance before you shrugged nonchalantly, choosing not to say anything which only made Ellen smirk. “Its not a false assumption considering you deleted all of your photos with the rapper Jack Harlow.”

You sigh. “Well then you assume correctly,” was all you say.

Ellen hums in acknowledgment. “Are any of the rumours of why you broke up true?” she asked.

You shake your head. “None of them are true. It was just…bad timing,” you shrug, anxiously playing with your fingers. “I’d um…I’d honestly rather not talk about it,” you breathed out.

Jack continued to watch with a frown. “Bad timing? She didn’t even try to make things work between us!” he argued, mainly to himself. Urban sighed before he looked to Jack. “Dude if watching this is just gonna make you mad then let’s just go out—”

“I’m fine, Urb.”

Urban threw his hands up in surrender. “Whatever you say.”

Back in the studio, Ellen continued on with her interrogation towards you. “Are you dating around?”

You shake your head and let out a small and almost mocking laugh. “Nah. It’s a bit insulting if I was able to move on that quick don’t you think? I’m working on myself too you know. Don’t think I can say the same about him though,” you mumble under your breath, referring to how multiple photos of Jack and other women were surfacing on the web post breakup. The catch was he wasn’t actually sleeping with any of them.

Ellen grinned, having felt successful at getting some pettiness out of you. “You’re right,” she chuckled. “But it’s been two months and you deserve happiness so…let’s play who’d you rather!”

You furrow your brows and nod slowly. “So what’s the objective?”

“I’ll show you two men and you choose who’d you rather go on a date with,” Ellen put simply. You nod in understanding before you lean back in your seat in preparation.

The screen shifts and presents two men. “Justin Bieber or Drake?” Ellen mused in question.

“Drake for sure,” you respond with a grin. “I love Toronto so he’d be taking me there,” you joke with a shrug.

Jack scoffed but remained silent as he continued to watch, his jaw clenched.

Drake remained on screen and Justin was then replaced by Shawn Mendes. “Hm still Drake,” you confirm. Ellen nods and the next pair showed up.

“Ooh okay…are you still with Drake or are you choosing Chris Evans?” she smirked. Your eyes widened and a small laugh escapes you. “Ooh this one is tough…Chris Evans is really cute,” you think aloud.

“He’s an older man,” Ellen points out. You shrug, “sometimes you need that maturity,” you muse, indirectly insulting Jack. “So I’m choosing Chris.”

Ellen smirked. “Chris or Bryson Tiller?”

“Ooh Bryson is so fine.” You say without hesitation. “But he’s taken and I love his girlfriend so I think I’ll stick to Chris.”

The next photo that appears puts Chris against Jacob Elordi. Eyes widening slightly, you pause a moment for contemplation. “Damn…I think I’m leaning towards Jacob,” you confess with a small blush. “I like how tall he is and his accent is to die for…” you swoon. “He’s definetly very attractive. I wouldn’t mind going on a date with him,” you shrug.

The game continues and you stay persistent with your choice being Jacob which has Jack fuming to say the least.

Rolling his eyes, Jack stood up abruptly. “Fuck this,” he muttered, shaking his head and walking away.

“Jack Harlow! Thank you for joining us today,” the male radio host mused. Jack smiled politely and nodded, “thanks for having me,” he said back.

“Okay now we’ll definetly get into your upcoming album and the making of it but first…I think we all collectively want to know the tea,” the man smirked.

Jack let out a small laugh before he shrugged nonchalantly. “Shoot man. What you wanna know?” he asked, leaning back in his seat confidentially.

“You and Y/N man…what happened with that? It got messy real quick.”

Jack let out a sigh. “It is what it is,” he shrugged. “Aight but who broke up with who? Cos she’s moved on pretty quick—”

“She broke up with me…for some shitty ass reasons too. But I gotta clarify and clear my name cos some people think I cheated but I didn’t. I loved her too damn much to do that to her,” he mumbled, looking away momentarily and clearing his throat.

The interviewer furrowed his brows. “So why y’all break up then?”

“She wanted more attention then I could give her,” he shrugged. “Nothing nasty happened. It’s just life.”

The interviewer examined Jack’s reaction a moment before he asked the next question. “You still in love with her?”

Jack let out a sarcastic laugh. “All ima say—haven’t been laid in a hot minute. Can’t seem to get it up for anyone but her,” he joked.

When fans caught wind that Jack was still in love with you and couldn’t move on, some hated you for it while others encouraged him to win you back.

He wanted so badly to text you or reach out in any way but he never did. Partly due to the fact that he didn’t want to lose his dignity but the other factor being that he thought you’d reject him. You did break up with him after all.

After hearing about Jack’s interview, you became desperate for him. Nothing serious ended up happening with Jacob and it was mainly because Jack was still on your mind 24/7 and after hearing he still loved you—you wanted him back.

When his album released, you listened to it the second it hit midnight, a mix of anxiety and excitement present as you heard it. By the end of it, you were so incredibly proud of him.

At that moment, you decided to just bite the bullet and text him. You had missed him so much and you thought maybe this was your only chance.

You: Hey J. I just heard the album. I’m so fucking proud of you. I know how hard you worked on it and it shows. It’s a masterpiece.

Neelam saw Jack’s phone ding and light up with a notification and she couldn’t help but glance to see who it was. When she did, her eyes widened.

“Who is it?” Jack asked, munching happily on some chips. Neelam licked her lips and cringed slightly. “It’s Y/N…but I think you should ignore her text—”

Neelam barely had the chance to finish her sentence before he snatched the phone off of the coffee table, his eyes widening. His heart rate picked up as he read the text over and over, a smile making its way onto his lips. Noticing this, Neelam let out a sigh. “Jack she’s only gonna hurt you again if you text back,” she warned.

“She won’t,” he defied stubbornly. “And it’s none of your business,” he mumbled, slipping out of the room and heading into a more private one. He bit his lip as he contemplated how to respond to your text.

Jack: You in LA?

You: Yeah. Until the end of the month

Jack: I’m doing a meet and greet tomorrow. Come over to my hotel after I’m done?

You: I’d like that a lot

Jack grinned upon reading your reply. It felt like he was on cloud nine in that moment, the giddiness overtaking his entire being. He quickly sent you the details and for the first time in a while, Jack went to bed excited for the next day.

As you approach the hotel Jack was staying at, your nerves were getting the better of you. You contemplated one too many times if you should turn back but you wanted to see him more than anything.

The second Jack heard your knocks, he immediately swung open the door. Both your breaths got caught in your lungs as you stared at one another. It had been too long for either or your likings.

Without missing a beat, you instantly throw yourself into him, your arms wrapping around his neck. “I’ve missed you so much,” you breath out into the crook of his neck. Jack took the opportunity to embrace you back, his heart beating wildly at you being in his arms again. “Miss you too mamas.”

Eventually he takes the step to pull away with a small smile on his lips. He takes your hand and leads you into the hotel room, the two of you taking a seat on the edge of the king sized bed.

You both sit in this half awkward half comfortable silence before he decided to speak. “So um…you and Jacob?” he mumbled in question, looking down at his feet.

Your brows furrowed and you shook your head. “We went on like two dates but nothing happened.”

“But you wanted something to happen right?”

“What? No,” you respond back firmly. “Was too hung up on you still to allow anything more to happen.”

Jack scoffed, “but you obviously wanted something to happen though? Y’all looked real close in the photos that came out,” he said lowly. “If you were still hung up on me then you wouldn’t have gone out with him.”

You take in a sharp breath as your eyes narrowed at him. “Did you ask me to come here for you to argue and get your frustration out or something?”

Jack let out a defeated sigh as he ran a hand through his curls. “I still love you,” he confessed, so quietly you almost didn’t hear him. “And it hurt me so much that you moved on so quickly.”

Your hand instantly reaches for his, giving them a gentle squeeze. “Except I didn’t move on. I tried because I thought it would make me feel better but I promise you Jack nothing happened. I couldn’t bare the thought of being with someone other than you,” you said softly, looking into his baby blue eyes. “Because I still love you too. But I couldn’t keep going with this relationship being one sided. It wasn’t fair.”

“You keep saying one sided like I fell out of love with you or something,” Jack said in offence, his brows furrowed.

“It’s what it would’ve turned in to,” you said. “Jack-baby it got to the point where we barely talked. You stopped doing all the little things that I loved- you stopped caring completely. I put in so much more effort than you did. Was I supposed to wait until you really did fall out of love with me or found pleasure in someone else?” you asked, not having even realized that you had begun crying.

Jack instantly cupped your cheeks with his larger hands, wiping away the tears with his thumbs as he looked at you with pure determination in his features. “I promise you I’ll do better. I’ll stop blowing off your family and I won’t miss any more anniversaries and I’ll call you every fucking day like it’s a religious obligation. I’ll be the boyfriend you deserve,” he promised. “Just be mine again,” he practically begged.

“I’ve always been yours,” you say, smiling softly before you eagerly sealed the deal by pressing your lips to his in a passionate kiss. Jack kissed back with fever, the two of you desperately clawing at each other to get even closer if possible. You moaned softly into the kiss as Jack laid you both down on the king sized bed, his hands running down your hot body, making butterflies erupt in your stomach and for the wetness to pool between your thighs.

“I love you so much,” he groaned against your mouth, pressing his clothed hard on against your thigh.

“I need you Jack.”

“Fuck—never thought I’d ever hear you say that again,” he mumbled softly, pressing a tender kiss to your lips again. “So let me make you feel good,” he whispered, licking his lips before smirking and inching his way further down your body.
