Am I recommending it because I want them to like Wilbur's content or because I want them to see how weird he is?

If I want them to like his content: I think you'd have to go with something music based because that's what 95% of his content is now. I also want to show off that he's a great streamer and his roots with that community so nothing that's JUST Lovejoy. I would go with the Your City Gave Me Asthma anniversary stream. It's touching, it's gentle, it managed to encapsulate the relationship he had with his streaming audience that had grown attached to that EP.

I actually ended up having an indepth discussion with Laurel to figure out the answer if this is the criteria. We had a short list down to the the We Started A Cult Sorry video, the Ho16 livestream, and the YLYL with James Marriott youtube video (Laurel also argued for the stream with the New Zealand Hamilton reveal). They all highlighted different aspects of what makes Wilbur's brand of weird entertaining.

And in the end. After careful consideration, I have chosen the Zoo Tycoon video on his youtube channel. Yeah, that does seem fairly recent compared to a lot of his good work, but here's the thing... it sorta summarizes a lot of the vibe of his old content while showcasing Wilbur's very particular brand of unhinged. He named the animals strange things, killed dozens of people, screamed wildly and got invested in their sex lives. He forced Phil to watch him create a whole narrative around the Worst Zoo In The World and it wasn't even his stream.

I don't want to pit two queens (mark and seán) against each other but it's hard not to a little bit because youtuber alterego sketches are kind of a very... niche genre and frankly i'm not a big enough fan of other people who i've seen do it (like thomas sanders or... contrapoints??? i guess????) to compare off the top of my head.

Seán is just like......... startlingly good at dramatic acting? He is, i think, passible to decent at comedic acting, but not that remarkable among his peers, but weirdly anything he plays straight REALLY sticks with me? Like... a while ago, i saw the opening sketch from some horror series or smth that i didn't even watch clipped to twitter, and it was like. This completely wordless short film of him getting a package and opening it up and finding his own severed head, and i STILL think about it from time to time because it was just made really well. It was EXTREMELY uncomfortable, but not in a way that grossed me out or felt traumatizing (i sometimes have problems with filmed horror because it's too visceral), but because it felt so mundane and convincing while still being skincrawling. Less is more. (I might have some details wrong here, idk.)

Come to think about it, his acting in the tie dye ten minute power hour with the game grumps was also really fucking good for what it was. Like. There was no need to go that hard but he carried it.

I was... maybe more tense than was merited when i watched "say goodbye" (insert zalgo text), because it really just genuinely felt like his content from the time (i was somewhat casual fan and regular viewer for a year or so back in the beginning of the green hair era, so like, 2015?), but the breaks in character were so subtle that it felt.......... extra wrong. Like weirdly in 2022, the nostagia factor made it work better.

I also like how the need for a punchline has been peeled away more and more from the ego content. It's not that there's no humor... the dialogue was funny in the most video, there were bits, but it all served characterization and emotional connection rather than Jokes For Audience To Laugh At. You could watch that video with no idea who Chase is and be 100% drawn in to the core of the character (case in point, that's what happened to corv, they were doing watercolors when i put it on our tv and had never seen any of seán's ego content, and they groked that chase was super divorced before it was said lol). A lot of mark's stuff still feels like *sketches* with occasional emotional connective tissue, which isn't a bad thing by any means, but it's notable how different of a sensibility seán has... and in a weird way, they play in the same twinned truth: the audience is an intrinsic part of this, the eyes of 10, 20, 30 million people are inescapable. Seán plays into the horror aspect of it, which could easily become corny or trite, but doesn't, because he's got the restraint to pull it off.

As for the egos themselves, i don't have any deep cuts of faves (and not... a *great* sense of most of them) but also. Unfortunately Chase and Anti are two of my Known Types: pathetic divorced man who's extremely performative but losing his ability to cope or convince others, and grinning, chaotic supernatural being who has to possess or manipulate other people to enact his will (some of the girlies like vampires or werewolves but this bitch here has a sleeper fixation on poltergeists and trickster figures...) So needless to say, i am INVESTED now that i actually put in the time to get current.

E aê? Então. Estamos "tentando" usar, atualmente, para a nossa produção musical um misto de MuseScore 3 com Audacity, o "Gravador de som do Windows que ocupa a tela inteira". O MuseScore 3 é um programa de fazer partituras, e que por acaso, consegue executar essas partituras com áudio de uma maneira interessante. O chato é a faixa dinâmica muito estreita do programa e o reverb aplicado de forma global, fora algumas SoundFonts terem volume mais baixo do que outras. Uma curiosidade, as músicas vistas no canal do YouTube CeBarros Music são apenas exports de áudio feitos pelo MuseScore 3 - talvez com alguns retoques de áudio feitos via Premiere e olhe lá. Existe já o MuseScore 4, só que ele incrivelmente tem funções à menos que o 3 no que se refere ao áudio, escolhendo arbitrariamente os sons de uma única SoundFont. Uma curiosidade, o programa surgiu após reclamações de um YouTuber sobre o MS3, e a empresa simplesmente contratou o YouTuber, e aí surgiu o MS4. E correndo por fora, está o LMMS, que nunca nos pediu nada, mas que não grava áudio. Ele consegue fazer algumas coisas a mais com SoundFonts que o MuseScore 3 não faz, só que com menos qualidade. Aliás, o LMMS é a única maneira que temos atualmente de usar o AlterEgo, programa de voz cantada artificial, o único que conseguimos usar até hoje, mesmo que só tenha uma única voz masculina até hoje entre as apenas 5 lançadas. Enquanto isso, tem gente fazendo chover há uns 15 anos com Hatsune Miku e suas colegas de trabalho T-T

PARECE que está chegando uma ferramenta absurda do YouTube que traduz vídeos para vários idiomas. Não é o voice-over que tem em alguns vídeos do Manual do Mundo: essa ferramenta faria o timbre original da voz da pessoa falar em outro idioma, e dependendo do par de idiomas, fazer um lip sync artificial para o idioma destino. Tipo assim, bem-vindo ao século 24. Aliás, esse lance de fazer vozes falar em outros idiomas é uma vertente que eu ainda não testei. Imagine fazer os empedernidos TTSs estrangeiros e o AlterEgo Bones finalmente falarem em português ‘:) Uma coisa já começa a me dar água en la bueca: imagine conteúdo em japonês sendo pelo menos traduzidos para inglês, por exemplo. Ou vídeos em espanhol daquelas vertentes mais difíceis de entender sendo enfim inteligíveis (um salve aos cubanos e portorriquenhos que apareciam no Caso Cerrado! :P)

A faixa a seguir é cantada por uma voz digitalizada (AlterEGO) e talvez não dê para entender direito (eu entendo, mas fui eu que fiz, talvez o público não, enfim). O nosso personagem Anselmo, o atual namorado de Rosalyn, é baixo profundo - e começa lentamente uma carreira de “cantor para poucos”. Criei isso baseado em uma série de coisas que passaram pela minha vida - e não, eu sou apenas barítono. Sua principal inspiração foi o cantor profissional Thurl Ravenscroft (phalecido em 2005) que é lembrado por ter sido a voz original do Tigre Tony em inglês e até em espanhol. Se este projeto tivesse nascido 30 anos antes, Anselmo seria ele... Talvez seja a coisa mais fora da curva que eu já fiz, e duvido que na vida real surja um dublador/cantor para este personagem, mas sacumé, tem coisas que eu aposto com a vida real e perco, quem sabe esta não seja mais uma delas?
