so my magical librarian here (who is still lacking a name unfortunately) started out with the idea of a librarian who always knows just what you're looking for without having to ask. but i have decided that they also keep the library open at night for anyone who needs a book, a snack, or a safe place to stay.

i designed these little guys for an embroidery project, but i think i might make mushroom frogs a species in my little world of arslotta just because they're adorable and i love them.

i have finally finished sora's crowded mood board!

to be honest i don't know how i feel about it? but i don't have the time or energy to redo it at the moment, and i think it does its job well enough.

currently working on some mood boards to go with sora and maisie's story in between preparing to move back to london!

so far i've only finished maisie's, but sora's and their joint mood board are both in progress.

it's a bit busy, but this is more like the kind of mood board i usually create when i'm working with paper and glue.

i don't know what their name is going to be yet, but i knew i had to get this idea out!

i was reading this post last night and i was like, 'what if there is a librarian who could tell what people want to read just by looking at them?' so here we are.

i'm not sure if they will ever have their own story in this world, but i do have some notes about them:

they grew up in a (magical) royal library (think: sorcery of thorns by margaret rogerson if you happen to know that book)

they started volunteering in the library at a young age

they talk to the books (and the books would protect them if any danger came to them) (sophie hatter vibes)

aroace

introverted, their ideal day would be to curl up with a book and listen to the rain

they love to read (obviously) and write

they are more confident communicating in writing than verbally.

short (i'm thinking 5'2" or 157.48 cm)

they wear big round glasses

they wear the same scuffed boots every day

they have an incredible memory and can recite passages of text from memory

they're good with words and can "read" people easily

they make friends with the library regulars

they are usually pretty quiet and kind, but they can be fierce when necessary

i don't know what their name is going to be yet, but i knew i had to get this idea out of my head somehow!

i think this is from the beginning of their relationship, when they're first starting to get to know each other and they just spend a lot of time talking about anything and everything.

i decided after drawing this that maisie is a plant gay, and i think she wears a lot of floral prints and flowers in her hair.

(i was obsessed with the ideas of "plant" and "water" elemental magic when i was younger so i think we're just going full circle at this point.)

this was actually my first drawing of maisie and sora, before I even knew their names.

it started out as a need to create a cute little story with a mermaid gf and a desire to draw a background for hecking once.

since then i have not stopped thinking about them and it's becoming a problem completely fine.

hello!!!

my name is [redacted]. i'm aromantic, asexual, and i use they/them pronouns. i've created this blog because i love telling stories and i want to share them at some point! an avid reader, i particularly enjoy consuming and creating fantasy stories.

so, i've started building this whole fantasy world in my head, and i really want to share it with people!!!  i just love it so much (it's so fun to work on). there are a couple of different story lines that fit into the world, and each of the ones i have rolling around in my brain are meant to take place during different time periods.

diversity is really important to me, and i want to use this space to explore stories that aren't often told. i will feature characters that are part of minority groups that i do not identify with, and in those cases i will do my best to be careful not to perpetuate harmful rhetoric surrounding those groups. that being said, i'm not perfect, and i'm open to constructive feedback if i've unknowingly written something that is offensive or could be read as such.

my goal is to create something that other people can relate to an enjoy. right now, this blog is mostly inactive as i'm working on writing in the very few quiet moments between uni work, and i haven't figured out what sort of content i can actually share while i work on the very bare bones of this writing project.

i'll be posting things here as i work on them and finalise things.
