D&D challenge for all u DMs out there

Design a kobold cave that a party of 4 lvl 15-20 players would struggle to complete

RULES:

-cave must have an entrance & a clear end goal, such as a treasure room or an exit on the opposite side.

-cave must only contain items that a tribe of kobolds would realistically have.

-the cave itself has no magical effects applied onto it.

-there can be as many kobolds living in the cave as you’d like.

-all traps must be mundane

-the only enemies in the cave are kobolds

-the kobolds use the 5e monster manual state block. that means no kobold spell casting

Please DO NOT use AI to generate fanfic

Not reblogging because I don't want to bash, but a day after hearing that OpenAI has scraped AO3 to train their writing AI, I've just seen a Tumblr post with AI-generated 'fanfic'.

The billions of hours of labour that millions of fanfic writers have given, hoping for nothing in return but comments and kudos, has been taken and used to train a for profit AI owned by Elon Musk.

This is bad, guys.

It's bad because it's fundamentally wrong, because it endangers fan works, and because it's illegal.

Not illegal in the way that fanfiction is legally questionable but now broadly defensible by highly trained OTW lawyers. Illegal in the way that copyrighted works and characters have been used for profit to create works with Open AI.

It's wrong not just because the works are created without consent from the labour of authors who won't see a penny, but because the aim of AIs like Open AI is to replace the work of professional writers.

You may use Open AI to make a silly fanfic and have a good laugh, but that's not what Elon wants it for.

If you hate what's happened to Twitter, you should be really, really scared about this.

It endangers fanworks because it awakens the power and might of brands like Disney, who have mostly stopped trying to sue fancreators (although they really, really did used to, and not that long ago) for using their IP and especially for writing LGBTQ+ fic. They're mostly willing to turn a blind eye because we aren't making any money.

But that's not what Elon wants to do. And they might start caring again if they see Open AI writing Stucky (follow the link, it writes Stucky omegaverse fic at the merest mention of Steve) and it obviously does so because it used AO3 as its source material.

You and I know it's not any fic writer's fault, but I don't think Disney cares, and it's cheaper to battle AO3 than Elon.

I should stress: AO3 admins are aware. It's been reported. do not clog up their inboxes reporting it again.

The above reasons and more are all arsenal in the armoury of OTW's lawyers. But that's still a battle to fight.

In the meantime, the very least you can do is NOT USE OPEN AI.

Not for a laugh. Not for anything.

And please: spread the word.

morgana is by far the most misunderstood, overhated, and underrated character i have ever seen in a video game. like seriously, ryuji was so much worse towards morgana because he basically made morgana question his entire existence and identity, far worse than morgana’s mild insults towards ryuji (that all the other thieves also do btw)

also while his simping is cringeworthy, teddie is so much worse than him, because at least morgana doesn’t actively try to get ann in weird or uncomfortable situations

For those of you who, like me, thought that Curiosity the Mars Rover was the size of a dog until you saw a picture with a human for scale, I just realized why! 

We were thinking of Sojourner, the granny of the family:

Update:

Okay, guys, I get it, the Housecat variation of the Feline build has the highest K/D ratio in the game, and the Ant build has the highest population, you can stop reminding me! I AM AWARE! The problem with that argument is that the reason they get such a good performance is entirely because of humans keeping them away from predators and caring for all of their needs.

What Outside really needs is to go one of two routes. Rebalance humans to be more evenly matched with the other builds, which I doubt would go over well seeing as how beloved the build is. 

...Or, we could take another route, one that the  “Furry,” “Monsterfucker,” and “Sci-Fi Fandom” factions (all of which are composed of Human mains, by the way) have been arguing for. Either bring the other species up to the power-level of Humans, or add new options that can similarly compete. 

Going the “Human power-level” option would decrease some of the uniqueness of species, but just providing it as an alternative option would add in some variety that Outside has been sorely lacking as of recent patches.

Or, for the “New species” option, what about that “Final Frontier” questline that’s been getting teased since the latter half of v19? You know, the one that the dev still hasn’t actually added hardly any content for past some of the maps yet? This would be the perfect place to add a species that could compete with Human mains without it feeling unnatural in any way. Or heck, several species! We already have a ton of alternate options and appearances for other playstyles, why doesn’t the Human build have any similar species?

Anyway, rant over. Sorry for venting, but I’m tired of hearing these excuses as to why Outside is “perfectly fine” in its current state of diversity. There are plenty of other issues too, but I don’t feel like getting into those right now.

It is of great importance to always make sure to carefully check your trenchcoats for before putting them on, as the large, dark clothes are a common hiding place for many a wild or wayward kobold. While the common methods to check are either by vigorously shaking the coat or by rifling through with your hand, these are heavily advised against. The former option may cause harm to any kobolds inside, and the latter may scare them, often resulting in bitten hands. 

Instead, it is recommended try coaxing them to come out by offering a treat of some sort. Bacon and sweet deserts have proven the most effective, but other meats or baked goods have also been shown to work quite well. In addition, the kobold(s) that receive this treat will often give a gift later as thanks.

Some kobolds may even choose to stay with their gift-giver indefinitely. Well over 70,000 people have adopted kobolds in this way, and roughly 92.47% of those people have said that their life has seen drastic improvement ever since. However, taking care of a kobold is a lot of responsibility. I highly recommend it. It does show it’s age a bit in some places, notably lacking a quest log for example (I’d recommend keeping Notepad open and jotting down anything that sounds important), but it’s genuinely one of my favorite Sci-Fi games out there, with some of the most unique alien designs I’ve ever seen from the genre.

The version I’d personally recommend getting is Serosis’ Megamod. It adds several QoL settings without changing gameplay, including being able to switch between the original pixelart and the fan-made HD remaster or changing the Utwig’s voice to a fan dub that IMO fits their personality much better than the official version.

You know, I don't think I ever saw a HFY post about gas giant life. Imagine the very thought of a planet with ground everywhere and the fear of failing not being everywhere being a bizarre concept to those aliens.

The space station marketplace was bustling with crowds and conversation, but when a voice spoke from behind me, I was pretty sure the question was for me.

“Can I ask you something?” said the nervous voice.

I turned to see a feathery alien of a species I hadn’t met yet, looking like a flustered eagle — or no, more like a secretary bird. Those were the long-legged ones that kicked snakes, right? This one had shiny white feathers with a pearlescent shimmer, and some very anxious body language.

“Sure,” I said, prepared for anything. Was this a question about the courier ship I’d come in on? A question about Earthlings? Something for me specifically?

Option B.

“Do humans do mating dances?” the bird asked in a rush.

Deltarune and Silksong are the main ones for me. I haven't seen anything on the new Zelda yet, but if they bring back Revali in any way, I'll buy it on release day.

I haven’t really seen anyone talk about this, so I felt like pointing out.  Been through the VAST majority of the Spamton tag on tumblr, so I’ve been watching to see, and well… I think I might as well go for it.

So;  When Spamton turns grey.  Specifically when he (or someone else?) says  “…can anyone hear me?  Help…”

What are those blue dots?

If you look up videos or played the game, you’ll notice that these blue dots come from above and fall downward.

Kinda like rain?

Is it raining somewhere else?  You know… That one song from Undertale?  That happens to play in a rather secret-spot-that-I -won’t-spoil-but-may-or-may-not-be-related-to-gaster?

:)  For who, I don’t know.  Might NOT be the mystery man or gaster, after all. But, it’s one of those things I THINK may have some significance, hence, I decided to point it out as some type of evidence.

That being said, he ALSO has that look in his eyes when he talks about Mike.  So, maybe it doesn’t mean anything.  But, who knows!  Hopefully, we’ll find out more in the next chapter!
