🍬Professor Dumbledore🍬

Believe it or not, this one took a long time to make (whaaaaat, it's only been like twenty days since Madam Pomfrey came online! That's nothing... > note the sarcasm here). I know, it took a while to figure out how I wanted Dumbledore to look. I had a good idea of the 'vibe' I wanted him to portray. It was the costume I struggled with. Drawing long robes and making them look somewhat personal/fashionable isn't the easiest thing to do. He is a very respected man and I wanted him to look responsible. However, he's also described as somewhat mad... so he needed to have something 'cooky' as well. You see my dilemma. I ended up with something of a formula: he wears long robes, like Gandalf, but the robes are very sophisticated. There are patterns, colours, embroidery and jewels. The robes are tied with fancy rope or a belt. Not to mention he wears a pointy hat because he's a stereotypical old wizard :)

Dumbledore has always been a fascinating character to me. Very duplicitous. He tells the truth but withholds it too. He lies, but we’re unsure if it’s for the benefit of someone else or himself. He protects Harry but puts him in danger as well. I’ve never really agreed with the idea of him being a father figure. He’s not parental. Dumbledore is a scholar, first and foremost. He craves knowledge and would sooner watch events unfold if it means gaining wisdom from it.

That’s what makes Dumbledore so complicated, yet fascinating.

Now, a few final words. Something I DO NOT understand about the Fantastic Beasts films.. WHO decided it was a good idea to put Dumbledore in these gentlemanly muggle clothes when he was teaching at Hogwarts, when we fully know that he was born and raised a WIZARD, teaches at a MAGIC school with ✨MAGICAL ✨MAGIC AND MAGIC. ✨🔮⚡️ It does not explain how he evolved to 'long bearded' 'half-moon glasses ' 'purple robes' Headmaster Dumbledore at a later age🧐 I love most of the costumes from Fantastic Beasts, but this I simply cannot condone 🙄

Oh, the joy of book covers! I honestly can't get enough of them. There's something so special to searching for that one image that captures the feeling of a story. It makes me very happy. This lovely piece was commissioned by @witherthymewrites on Instagram who is writing The Lunar Heir, a standalone epic fantasy novel. It's got adventure, it's got romance. What more do you need? It was a blast to make and I hope to get more cover commissions in the future! :)

Hi, I love your work! Would you ever be interested in drawing Fleur, Cho and (possibly) Angelina for your Yule Ball dresses series?

Hiya! That is a great question! And thank you! I'm so glad you like my work <3 I definitely plan on doing that! There is a list in my notebook that grows fast and shrinks slowly, full of character drawings that I wish to do. The Yule Ball series will undoubtedly continue, but it may take some time :) I hope you'll continue to enjoy my work in the meantime and I promise the day will come.

Pretty Portraits

I’m so happy to share these pieces with you! I created four portraits for @boundbyliv on Instagram who is writing a very special Luna x Ginny fanfic :) It’s about Quidditch, mystery and romance ✨🩷 I believe the work is an ongoing process, so check out Liv’s page for updates. I loved making these, I think they turned out really well😊🧡

The Hogwarts Uniform (my version)

I'm a little bit behind on my character illustrations, but that's why I have backups, like this one! I sometimes make more than I want to post in a week, and then I save them for weeks like these when I'm too busy to make anything new :) I'm so smart, hehe. Anyway! This is my version of the Hogwarts uniform. I have to say something. I hate grey. I despise the colour and it's always bothered me in the films and in a lot of fan art. It's so bland and lifeless. Bleh. I think there should only be ONE item of grey clothing allowed in the uniform at all times. But hey, that's my opinion and in my artwork, I can make it so. Yippee! When I draw a character in uniform, I'm very open to making changes to it, depending on the personality of the character. I mean, look at Luna and Pandora. There's barely anything left of the traditional uniform. But that's okay, because it's just a drawing. Although, wouldn't it be so so cool if we saw a Harry Potter adaptation where students could spice their uniforms up however they'd like?! It would be less English boarding school and more MAGIC SCHOOL. Because that's what we're talking about here. These people are witches and wizards and I would like to see some more whimsy in their appearance. This sheet I made is just a basic start to any uniform. It has all the standard components of the uniform and you can do whatever you want with it after that. I'm curious to know your thoughts about my 'whimsical' uniform idea :)

🩹Madam Pomfrey 🩺 Everyone's favourite Healer :) Drawing her was great! I had already done a few sketches of the Healer uniform, so it was easy to do the costume. I was thinking more about the way she styles her hair. I like this a lot, it makes her look friendly and maternal, which she is.

I always love reading bits in the books with Madam Pomfrey. She is so discrete and caring. She doesn't ask questions and doesn't judge. She just wants to protect the students, even if it means yelling at the Minister for Magic, which is bad ass... On this page, we stan Madam Pomfrey! Hope you like her :) 🧡✨

Little update

Hey everyone! How is everybody doing? I hope you're well :) With me, things are going well. After three trying months, I emerged from my art block in good spirits. The weather is finally turning for the better and I got some new plants for my room. What more can a gal want, really? I'm working on some cool projects currently! I'm working hard to produce about 80 illustrations for the book of fairytales. It's tough, but so far so good! And.. I've gotten a few commissions since I announced I'm open for them, which is great! Illustrating isn't what you call lucrative, so I'm grateful for your support and ideas. My commissions will remain open as long as I can handle the amount of submissions (and right now it's very manageable) so don't worry if you have an idea, but the timing isn't right yet. I'll be here :) I'm also working on setting up a Patreon... It's a bit confusing for me because I'm not entirely sure what I'm supposed to be doing there and the website is in Spanish, so I have to use Google Translate, which isn't ideal... But! I'm chipping away at it, it's going to be fine. I was mostly wondering if any of you would be interested in joining a Patreon with me? I would be making some exclusive illustration content, behind the scenes and tutorials... I'm curious to hear what you think, so feel free to share thoughts, feelings, doubts, all that jazz.

Commissions

Hello everyone! I have opened up my commissions :) I have received quite a few messages on this subject in the past months and I've finally gotten around to making an overview. Now, I must ask everyone to respect my terms. I'm very excited to work with all of you, so let's keep it fun for both of us <3 The usual turnaround of a commission is 2-4 weeks, depending on how busy my schedule gets. Four weeks is a guarantee, that I can assure you. I hope we get to make some beautiful art together!

🐍Professor Snape🐍

This was a FUN one to draw… I like the moodiness of this character. For artists, Snape is a lot to work with, so I had a great time.

Drawing him is one thing, though… because we all know that he has the personality of a shrivelled houseplant. I don’t like him much, and I drew him that way, because that’s my opinion of him. I know there are a lot of people who believe in his redemption arc, but I do not. And I respect their opinions, please respect mine ☺️

With that said, I hope you enjoy this illustration!

The All the Young Dudes book covers project

I've been working on this fun project in my time off from social media. It consists of three illustrations to use as book covers for All the Young Dudes by MsKingBean89 on Ao3. This book has been the foundation of my involvement in the fandom. It's the first fic I read about the Marauders and I loved it so much! I laughed, and I cried, it was a real rollercoaster. After making the cover for A Brief History of Dragons by Eyra, I caught the bug and started thinking of more covers to illustrate. I loved working on the first cover, but I didn't love doing it on my tablet. At heart, I am a traditional illustrator and for this kind of illustration, I felt paper might work better. So I got to work. I knew I wanted to make three covers. From what I've seen online most people bind their own copies of All the Young Dudes in three parts: Year 1-4, Year 5-7 and Until the End. Therefore, I made three covers. I have not yet digitalized these illustrations, but I'll turn them into downloadable covers for binders to use for their book projects. I am working on binding my own physical copies of AtYD too :) It's fun! Right, to the covers. There's so much to say!

Book One

This is the start of Remus' life at Hogwarts and his friendship with the other Marauders. I wanted it to feel a bit like reading Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone for the first time. It's the realisation that magic is real, it's that first spark you get when picking up a book you instantly connect with. That was the feeling I wanted to incorporate in this first cover. There are a bunch of little easter eggs for the story and I hope you'll pick them all out. Let me know in the comments what you think they are. Also, for this project, I studied the language of flowers. I am not sure if all my information is correct, but in this one, I put dandelions in the top corners. Dandelions represent new beginnings :)

Book Two

The second half of the Marauders' time at Hogwarts. This part is all about love and loyalty; something I liked a lot! It's also the time when the Marauders complete their animagus transformations. The animals had to be on the cover! That, I knew for sure. I went for a forest theme for this second cover, because of all the mischief the Marauders got up to in the Forbidden Forest during full moons. I used flower language here as well. For every Marauder I picked a flower I felt represented who they are. For Peter, at the top, I chose Bleeding Heart and Belladonna. Both of them represent betrayal and death. Nice and cheery :) For Sirius, on the Right, I chose Bluebell, which represents loyalty. For Remus, on the Left, I chose Acacia, which represents secret love or forbidden love, because he's hiding his sexuality for most of the book. But it's a love flower and in his core Remus is caring and loving, despite his rough edges. For James, on the bottom, I chose violets. And violets represent love at first sight. I know we all know why <3 I like this cover a lot. The picture is a bit grainy, but like I said, I'm still working on digitalising.

Book Three

Last but certainly not least. This book is about war, love and loss. It was definitely the most challenging piece out of the three, but worth the trouble. On this cover, I put Hogwarts at the top, because that's where it all started and where it ends. On the bottom, there's a prophecy, which is about Harry and Voldemort. There are a few gravestones at the bottom. Very cheerful, I know, but if you pay attention, you see a Deathly Hallows on one of them. On the sides are my favourite parts. I like the lily flower in the arms of death, because it's obvious, but also beautiful. I like the Death Eater on the other side because it's spooky. The snakes represent rebirth and Slytherin House, which is important to the story of the Second Wizarding War, connecting good and evil. Once again I put all the flowers in this piece, scattering them around because they're all interwoven in each other's stories. Finally, I want to say something about the three central images. In the first we see Remus as a child. He's alone and scared of the big scary wolf. The three images are a timeline. It represents Remus' relationship with the wolf in him. At first, he despises it and is scared of it. And finally, he stands with it, not quite embracing it, but he's not scared anymore. In the middle, I wanted to show Remus with his friends, because they banished his fear whenever they were together. With his friends, the wolf didn't control Remus and he could control the wolf. I hope it's all clear. I loved working on these pieces and I hope you like them too!

Welcome to my Multiverse!

I worked on this piece for a few weeks, colouring a bit whenever I felt like it :) it’s a little different from my usual work, but I wanted to share it.

I have always had the ability to just immerse myself so completely in a world with stories that I can’t help but draw myself in it. Then I can put my mind at ease and allow myself to let it go and return to the real world. It’s a strange thing, but it helps me reign in my imagination. Otherwise I get stuck in it and forget to live my own life :)

🎵🎶 Professor Flitwick 🎶🎵

This was a fun illustration! I liked getting to put my own spin on this teacher. The only description in the books was: he’s a tiny wizard. So, I thought about the role he plays in the books. He’s a kind, good teacher who cares about his job and his students. I imagine he chaperones all kinds of student clubs, because he wants students to explore their interests, like a true Ravenclaw :) He conducts the choir and spruces up the castle during holidays. I bet he plays games in the classroom and does thematic spells for holidays, like hollowing pumpkins for Halloween.

For his design I took some inspiration from old English universities and their professors’ attire. With the long robes and tweed suits. I put my own spin on it and made it more formal and magical, with colour and prints. I subconsciously made him a little bit queer-looking, but I really really like that vibe for him. I hope you like it too! I wouldn’t be opposed to a gay professor Flitwick :)

How it works: Writers, artists and video editors of the Marauders fandom will create non-profit drabbles, sketches and edits in return for donations to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund. Once proof of donation is sent, your prompt will then be assigned to a writer/artist/editor to fulfill at random. The fics will be posted to the Ao3 collection Marauders With Palestine Project, while the sketches and edits will be posted to the creator’s own accounts.

Schedule:

Writer/artist volunteer sign up: March 11th - March 31st

Donation proof and prompt submissions: April 1st - April 22nd

Prompt assignment: April 23rd - April 31st

Writing and drawing: May 1st - May 31st

Answered prompts and posting will happen starting June 1st

General Rules:

Each contributor can donate more than once, but they’ll only be allowed to submit a maximum of three prompts, no matter their donation size.

Proof of donation is required for the prompts to be accepted and added to the list. 5 USD is the required minimum for SFW prompts, and 8 USD for NSFW prompts.

NSFW prompts can only be submitted by 18+ contributors and will be assigned to 18+ volunteers only.

Prompts need to be worded clearly to avoid confusion, and they can’t include more than four Marauders era characters. Contributors can specify if they prefer a fic or a drawing, but the final product will depend on availability and may change. Prompts will be assigned randomly.

The prompts may not contain: religious material, gore, explicit violence, incest, or non-con. Dead dove prompts are not allowed and hateful or politically inclined prompts will be automatically deleted. 

*This project is entirely non-profit and all money contributed by those who submit prompts is sent directly to the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

For volunteers: Everyone is welcome! 

For writers: fics must be a minimum of 3k words and you must have an Ao3 account to post them to the Marauders For Palestine Project collection. The works must be completely independent from any other works, and while they can be multichapter fics, they have to be published all in one go.

For artists; your contribution may be a drawing or doodle. Sketches are welcome, but there’s no need for background.

For video editors: your video may be longer than 15 seconds.

The newest family member... Hiya everyone, here's a little something different today. I have gotten very very little work done this week, but with a good reason. We just adopted this little monster: Murphy She's a mix of two Dutch breeds: Frisian Pointer (Fryse Stabij) and Kooiker (there's no english translation for that). Basically it means she'll be so so so pretty and fluffy when she's older. She's already pretty and pretty fluffy, so imagine her in a few months :) Anyway, I just wanted to share this joyous news. I've always wanted a dog and I'm so happy my parents caved, hehe. Prepare for the occasional Murphy picture in the future.
