Just completed postproduction on a short film I’ve been on-off working on for a little over four years. Started filming in October 2015, same month as one of my heros, Chantal Akerman, left the world. It was always my intention to pay respect to her in this film if/when I finished. There were certainly times I didn’t think I would. Long stretches when I didn’t even touch it. Many times I felt I needed to add one more thing, but that I’d do that “later,” and there was “no rush,” nobody was waiting on it anyway. Sigh.
