That whole outfit is an assassination attempt. Showing up in that would be a way easier way for him to get Akiren out of commission.

Every time someone says that Goro Akechi has Borderline Personality Disorder, I'm torn between knowing that people can headcanon whatever they want and the fact that the only reason most of them think that is because they don't know about the practically canon reason.
Goro Akechi has Complex PTSD, which comes from prolonged trauma/abuse. It's also very commonly misdiagnosed as BPD due to a lot of similarities. Maybe Goro does have BPD, but he definitely has C-PTSD. He may have a personality disorder, but we know he has a lot of childhood trauma.
He has symptoms of both. Overlapping ones and exclusive ones. I'm not saying that he doesn't have BPD and just wishing that more people would recognize that it's more likely either C-PSTD or both.

Fix-it as in making them suffer more but ultimately letting them be happy
squinting at the 'fix it fic' tag on any given story on Ao3, trying to discern if it's intended in the sense of:
I genuinely think the story had bad writing and I am taking my toolbox and improving it [and i the reader agree]
I genuinely think the story had bad writing and I am taking my toolbox and improving it [and i the reader disagree]
The story's ending was Tragic and I Respect that but also i just want to read about my faves having some kind of joy and fulfilment okay?
The story's ending was Tragic and I do Not Respect That please God Damnit Let Them Be Happy
We Are Literally Fixing The Canon With The Application of Time Travel or Reality Warping or some other Wild Plot Device
I am going to fix one obscure detail or plot element that 95% of the fandom has never thought about in their life
(because these are all extremely different vibes)

Akiren would dress alt if he wasn't so overwhelmed by the idea of starting because he has no idea how to change his entire style. He wants to, he just hasn't figured out how. Eyeliner also scares him.

Goro Akechi could absolutely piss Kira off enough. 100%, also it would make sense for him to hide his real name. And cover it up thoroughly. Also, due to his universe, he'd definitely be capable of solving the case entirely.
I think something we should consider for @couldtheycatchkira is if there's a character out there who could piss Kira off so much that he takes the shinigami eye deal. I'm not sure what character would make him do it but there's almost certainly a character out there who's competent yet infuriating and inescapable to Kira's psyche that he carves off half his lifespan to get their real name. It doesn't matter to me whether this would end up as a win for them or not, I just want to find a character who would push him over the edge.

The reason Akiren can't do more than two tasks a day, whether there's school or not, is his unmedicated depression(he insists that he's fine). Morgana doesn't think it's weird, but he's got a cat body. Akiren sleeps probably around 10-12 hours every day. It's the only way he has energy for such an active social and "extracurricular" life. On days he doesn't go to the Metaverse, he takes a nap when he gets home. Also why Morgana insists on him sleeping when he does go to the Metaverse, or at least relaxing, because he knows Akiren missed sleep cause of it. He doesn't necessarily sleep more when there's no school(sometimes he does) but he needs relaxing time where he just doesn't do anything. And it's not so much that he needs more sleep, just to turn his mind off and rest more.
My headcanons are everyone's problem.

The first was annoying, the second concerning. The little love poems that kept showing up in Goro's locker were getting under his skin, not for sappy sweetness but the stalkerish words mixed in. And the way this person seemed to know him a bit too well.

I unlocked hers but never got to use it cause I was already near max level by that point and was auto-killing all the Shadows by that point.
It’s extremely funny to me that unlocking Akechi and Joker’s Showtime is story-based. It’s mandatory.
You know whose isn’t? Sumire’s.
Atlus hyped her up for the release of Royal as this cute new confidant/thief/romance option and her Showtime can be missed completely. You know how I know that? I didn’t unlock it! I didn’t know it existed until someone told me!
It’s even funnier to me if you let her down once she confesses to you. “Sorry, not interested, but I am going to go do intricate rituals with Akechi, bye.”

Goro Akechi knows that he's dead. The last day he remembers was February 3rd, 2017. Yet now the date reads 8 months earlier, and it's still revenge on his mind. Not just for himself, before for everyone that matters to him. Maybe he can't make anything right, but he can make things better. He always was stubborn to a fault.

I've been meaning to drop my interpretation of this! First off, this is at the peak of the Thieves' popularity. Goro is used to feeling unwanted. Suddenly being a celebrity, someone countless people praised and admired, he'd have latched onto that like he needed it to survive. Now it's been snatched away just as quickly, and no doubt Goro is reminded of losing his mother. He's been abandoned again. No one wants him.
So, Goro goes to LeBlanc. Maybe just to hide from it all. That was also his first time there. Not only does he see his rival/friend/enemy standing behind the counter, but also the daughter of the first person he killed. Naturally, he's going to be in a state of shock, which he's going to cover up.
Another thing to note: Goro is a bit awkward talking to people normally. We see this the very first time he meets Akiren. He doesn't know what to say, or what to do.
Let's recap. Goro feels utterly alone once again and is near his breaking point. He wanted some quiet time, maybe he did know Akiren lived there and wanted to spend some time with someone who was still willing to call him a friend, then saw a girl who so strikingly resembled the first person he killed. He's overwhelmed, he's lost, he has no idea what the right course of action is. When it seems the people there don't even want him around, it's almost too much for him.
What does he do? Goro tries to empathize. For me and a lot of other people, relating to others' struggles seems like a reasonable form of comfort. He tells Futaba, the embodiment of his guilt and regret, that she isn't alone in her suffering. Goro felt alone for most of his life, he still does. He's breaking down while keeping a straight face, but this isn't about him. Goro is telling Futaba that she's not alone. He's telling Akiren that he doesn't want to be alone.
That was long. Read into the scene how you want, this is just how I personally see it.
Sojiro has every right to be standoffish when Akechi comes in to Leblanc randomly and name drops Sae (who recently threatened to take Futaba away), but it's so fucking funny that Akechi immediately reacts to that by turning to Ren + Futaba and going "it seems I'm unwanted no matter where I go..... Anyways my mom was left by this deadbeat man and that trauma killed her" completely unprompted
Like, the gall on this bitch to be like "I'm really sad my mom died :(" IN FRONT OF THE GIRL WHOSE MOM HE KILLED

Goro's animal crossing island would be planned out down to every last detail. He made custom patterns to cover almost every inch of the ground outside, chose exactly what villagers he wanted, and put them in the exact right houses in the exact right spots. His museum is finished, his houses are exactly as he wants them. He swears on his life that nothing about his island(from decor to the villagers) is inspired by the people or places that bring him joy and comfort. If you look a little closer, all of the villagers sort of remind you of the Thieves, but that's a coincidence, and you're looking too far into it. He also hates Tom Nook.
Attn: goroboys
I need anyone and everyone here to respond with what they think goro Akechi’s animal crossing island would be like in as much detail as you can manage , for research purposes. Go

Ren says, while already on his way to meet Akechi in Mementos alone, because he's gay and has absolutely no sense of self-preservation when it comes to Akechi.
Akechi: I need you to come meet me in mementos, and I need you to come alone.
Ren: And I need you to be less vague and weird.
