This is so ridiculous.
And this is on top of oregon backtracking on a $15 minimum wage. Ugh.
C'mon folks. A lot of people's lives are at stake here
PLEASE sign and share. It alerts senators every time a new signature happens, especially important given they’re thinking of voting on this as soon as tomorrow.
Oregon’s HB 4082 would expand the definition of sex trafficking with overly broad, vague language, putting consensual, adult sex workers and those who help them or do any business at all with them at risk of prosecution and jail time.
If this bill passes, grocery stores accepting money from a sex worker and social services/outreach orgs that provide harm reduction services to sex workers (like my group STROLL, which provides free, home HIV test kits) would become “traffickers” in the eyes of the law!
Please sign my petition to urge Oregon to vote NO on this bill!
The bill would change the definition of sex trafficking such that any person who receives “money, goods, or services” that are “derived from a prostitution activity” are subject to prosecution.
The bill, sponsored by Rep. Kathleen Taylor, already passed a House committee and is moving quickly. Please sign the petition to urge Oregon to vote NO on this bill!
A slew of human rights orgs, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and the United Nations Development Programme have recommended decriminalizing every aspect of adult consensual sex work. Why is Oregon stepping backwards? Sign the petition to fight back!

Still employed by a racist police state though. Shame that.
This Cop Was Called To An Animal Shelter And Ended Up Meeting His New Best Friend
“When the supervisor brought him in, I just looked in his eyes as he yawned at me, and I told [the] supervisor, ‘don’t bring him in here, because I will take him home right now,’” Montgomery said.
He added that the new puppy was a perfect addition to the family.
“Me and my girlfriend have wanted another dog for so long because Vader, our other rescue, loves meeting other dogs and playing with them,” he said.

Yeah and as a nb person I find it really othering/transphobic if a cis person considered themselves ceterosexual. So please don't do that if you are cis.
Nb/trans people have to deal with being sexualized/fetishized/objectified by cis people enough already without them attempting to legitimize it by considering it a sexuality.
so if you are only attracted to agender or nonbinary people what would your sexuality be? because if you view agender as its own gender then would you just be attracted to one gender? sry if this sounds confusing I was just thinking about it
there were a couple words around for this that i’ve currently forgotten! a lot of people don’t love such sexuality labels just because “non-binary” is so broad that sometimes it doesn’t really make sense to say you’re only attracted to nb people? like a lot of nb people consider themselves non-binary men or women, agender men or women, etc. for example you could be a lesbian but still date some non-binary or agender people because some nb/agender people are also women. you could be a gay guy who’s also agender. this is something i see a lot of actually, i think because being same-gender-attracted in a society where heterosexuality is a big part of gender/gender norms can cause a lot of people who still somewhat identify with their gender to feel somewhat disconnected from it, resulting in lots of gay and bi men and women who identify as agender or nb as well as identifying as men or women because of this disconnect. where the fuck was i going with this? no idea.
anyway yeah, to say you’re only attracted to nb people can be a little bit iffy because non-binary is such a broad spectrum/group of genders and people whose gender and level of gender-based privilege can vary widely. this is probably why various “nb-sexual” terms haven’t really stuck very much. lots of people are more attracted to androgynous-looking people than anyone else, but to have this be it’s own sexuality? it’s a bit of a grey area.
i’m not criticizing anyone who identifies this way by the way! just kinda rambling about some different perspectives on this. if anyone knows of a word for someone only attracted to nb/agender people, please reblog and add!

Oh for sure, and apologies if I triggered you. I'm a CSA survivor as well and this is just my way of contextualizing *my* trauma.
I just do think there is evidence of a cultural infantilism of adult women (not only in grooming habits) but in what behaviors/ideas cishet men find sexually attractive (or told are sexually attractive through media)
And I think the term is "squicked" in terms of how I feel about it. (Not quite triggered but kinda nauscious.) Especially in bringing up your original point that cishet dude person up there is all angry about being "labeled" a pedophile apologist.
Basically, my point is that girlhood is so sexualized that there is kinda a cultural pedophilia (part of rape culture) and it affects adult women as well when they do not conform to the sexualized girlhood fantasy.
So, yeah, totally not the same thing but for me I can't help but feel they are related a bit under an overall rape culture. My apologies for implying that "being a jerk to hairy women equals pedophile" insofar that CSA is an equal experience to body shaming. It isn't.
So. Adventures in misogynistic pedophilia apologism: tumblr user @ikgrokgeek apparently thinks it’s okay and just a ‘matter of taste’ or a ‘personal opinion’ for adults to make and enjoy anime with sexualized twelve-year-old girls. And now they’re pouting because I “labeled them” a pedophile apologist.

Not to dig up the spectre of my radfem past but: It is very interesting that when bringing up the sexualization of young girls that people (i.e. straight men) will often bend over backwards to defend or deny any critical opinion suggesting that they, fully grown adult men, are sexualizing and fetishizing young girls.
But the moment that an adult woman decides to deliberately distiguish herself from young girls by not shaving body hair, not wearing makeup, etc that straight men are there complaining how unsexy they find her. This isn’t to say the answer is all women growing body hair or whatever (ugh radfems) but that it is madding how entrenched our concept of femininity as being exploitable/passive is while simultaneously denying the fetishizing of young girls. Basically if you are an adult man who watches/enjoys media that sexualizes young girls, and find only adult women who shave their body hair and act naive, passive, and submissive attractive; you are still a pedophile in my opinion. A sexual attraction to girlhood and an adversion or repulsion of womanhood as being anything other than a “larger” version of girlhood is a way to wiggle pedophilia into “acceptability” and it is disgusting.
That could just be me though. Thoughts?

I think this video is great at discussing the very clear pros of trigger warnings and the not-so-clear cons of them as well. It is really good at getting people to think about disability access and other issues.

I have been attacked for this a considerable amount (not that it is unwarranted) and I'm sorry that you have.
For the record, I listened to @bistuffandthings and @xxbeat-of-my-heartxx because both of them answered my questions and gave me terminology to move forward with. This isn't to say that EVERYONE must do this or I blame others for not doing so, but when these things occur it is nice when someone steps in and schools me (because as a human I'm bound to make mistakes.)
From the little I could see on @apatheticlesbian 's blog she seemed to defend a twerf so I'm not really all that concerned of her opinion of me.
Basically, for future reference, it's totally ok from my pov to hate on me for this, but please leave everyone else out.
lesbophobia is homophobia that specifically targets lesbians how is that not clear in the name itself. lesbians aren't coopting biphobia because some wlw face it.
Except that most of what is called lesbophobia that the community on here talks about I have either faced or other bisexuals have as well. It’s almost like lesbophobia is unique to wlw, and not just lesbians.

My mother got fired this last week, the campaign she was working for was closed and she was fired with all her co workers, she’s currently looking for another job but her age (she’s 50 years old) and the sequels from her brain surgery prevent her from finding one, I make about 460 dollars monthly, my rent alone is almost 300 dollars and I also have to buy medication for my mom , I know i have asked for help countless times but I guess i dont lose anything by asking, since im still on training at my job i still cant sign in for overtime or anything, im confident my mom will find a job before the end of the month but im coming short with money for groceries and public transportation cause it’s so expensive here, so truly anything helps, 3 dollars pretty much represents a meal for me and my mom so any helps is immensely appreciated, my paypal is [email protected] and there should be a donate button on my ask, even boosting helps, thanks a lot for helping

I'm so disgusted and tired. I'm so emotionally drained. This is wrong on every level.
A federal lawsuit by the American Civil Liberties Union and the Children’s Law Center alleging that a deputy sheriff handcuffed two small elementary school students who have disabilities, resulting in pain and trauma, according to a federal lawsuit filed today.
In an extremely disturbing video, school resource officer, Kenton County Deputy Sheriff Kevin Sumner, can be seen handcuffing a sobbing 8-year-old boy, referred to in court documents as S.R. The child is so small that Sumner has to lock the child’s biceps together behind his back. What makes the case even more appalling is that the child has a history of trauma and has been diagnosed with ADHD.
The other child named in the lawsuit, a girl named in the suit as L.G., was twice handcuffed in the same manner as S.R. She is a special needs student and has also been diagnosed with ADHD.
Neither child was accused of criminal conduct nor were they arrested or charged with a crime, but were being punished for behavior issues.
What a piece of shit.
The video is heartbreaking. I’m crying. When did the police take it upon themselves to become disciplinarians in elementary schools, or any school for that matter?
This video starts with the boy being restrained and ends with him being restrained. Makes me wonder how long this went on. Isn’t it sweet of the fat bastard cop to come up with a way to cuff a little boy whose wrists are to small to handcuff??
