Meet Cath - Brief Bio. Excerpt 

Cath is also one of the main characters in The Spirala, a short story series in progress. Xe’s 22 and Zan has been xyr closest friend since childhood at Christa McAuliffe School, 5th grade. Cath’s uniquely knowledgeable, more so in cosmology, astronomy, and astrophysics. Xe applied to New York University along with Zan, so they could attend college together. Unfortunately, Cath was rejected while Zan was accepted. Nevertheless, they always make time for each other. Xe ended up going to University of New Hampshire and majored in Physics and with a double minor in Astronomy and Earth Sciences. After graduation, xe decided to work at the Concord Public Library with xyr dad. In the meantime, they’re trying to get into the NASA training program to fulfill their childhood dream of exploring space as an astronaut… Just don’t ask xem how that’s going, though.

Meet Zan - Brief Bio. Excerpt

Zan is one of the main characters in The Spirala. She may be young at 22, but she’s quite wise for her age. She’s a logical, ethical, straightforward, and also serious individual. But that’s not to say that she doesn’t know how to have fun. Zan recently graduated from New York University with a double major in Politics and Public Policy and a double minor in Economics and Business Studies. She’s here to become a future world leader, but for now, she’s taking a gap year or two while working for the state of New Hampshire until she returns to school for her masters. Her college career was challenging enough, but her closest friend Cath never doubted her once. Well, maybe that one time…

Logline - The Spirala (Short Story Series)

Logline: Human beings since the beginning of human existence, before the year 2024, are anonymously summoned as the Spirala and thus lead college students from Concord, New Hampshire, to form a club called the Sanctuary that encourages ambitious individuals to become Sanctuary Students as members to interact with the spiritual and abnormal embodiment of history in hopes that the present can learn from the past to create a brighter future.

This is for the short story series as a whole, not one individual story.

The Spirala - Introduction

Greetings. My name is Kayla Pellegrini, a poet and author/storyteller. I’ve written and self-published a poetry book titled ‘Rhetoric Maniac: 202 Chaotic Poems’, which is only available on Amazon. I’m transitioning to short storytelling, about an idea I’ve had ever since childhood to bring to life. The goal is to pitch my short story series to publishers once the pilot or first short story is complete. 

I will be using Tumblr as a blog to post drafted quotes, writings, and concept art (I’m not an artist, but I enjoy drawing) related to my short story series ‘The Spirala’ in hopes that maybe it'll become something influential and bold. 

The Spirala is a fictional short story series under the sci-fi and fantasy genre categories. It’s about the supernatural for young adults due to future sensitive topics. 

With a diverse cast of authentic characters from various backgrounds, please feel free to join me in this uncertain, yet exciting journey where we explore the relationship and existences between the dead and the living, the past and the present, and what could become of the future. 

My ask box is always open for any questions or concerns about The Spriala or me. I will be sure to post the following on the drafted logline that’s based on the series as a whole.
