tumblr guide for new users:
1) there is no algorithm for your dashboard. can't stress this enough. your dashboard is in chronological order of posts and reblogs from people you follow. "based on your likes!" is a joke and they removed that feature in a week
2) because of the lack of algorithm, likes do nothing. if you want more people to see a post, you have to reblog it so it goes on your follower's dashes
3) the vast majority of posts on a person's blog tend to be reblogs. think 90% or so. some of those will have that person commenting on it, and more will have tags
4) comments stay on reblog chains, while tags only show up on your reblog of that post. it's kind of like a whisper voice. in either case, both op and the person you reblogged from see that in their notifications
5) tags don't go in the body of the post. writing "staying in #lasvegas" won't make it appear in the las vegas tag, it'll just look weird
6) it's totally normal to reblog and post multiple things in one day. it's normal to reblog the same post twice in a row. it's normal to have 100 posts+reblogs in a day. post limit (the total number of original posts and reblogs) for a single day is 250. you heard me. 250. go hog fucking wild
7) it defaults to having a visible likes tab on your blog (but only on your blog, not the dashboard) but most people toggle it off
8) "tumblr clout" is a fucking joke. no one can see your follower count, and no one makes money here. there are no influencers. enjoy not giving a shit about maintaining a public persona. it's all anonymous and your employers won't find you here

"Help sooad Family Survive & Rebuild in Gaza"
Vetted by gaza-vetters number in the list ✅365✅
Hello, my name sooad Muhammad, I am a 61-year-old mother and former school teacher from Gaza💔

After the army entered the city, we went out to Rafah under the attack of planes and missiles. And the bullets that spare no one, we lived in torn tents that did not protect from the heat, the cold, or the rain. All the words in the world cannot describe what we have lived through. All I want is for you to look at me and my family with a merciful heart and help me.

Before October 7th, I lived a humble life, dedicated to teaching and raising my children. But everything changed. Since that day, my family and I have been living in unimaginable conditions—without electricity, without clean water, without safety.

Our home was destroyed, and we now sleep in a torn tent, exposed to the freezing cold. My children cry from hunger and fear. The markets are empty or unaffordable. Bread is now a luxury—I knead pasta just to make something to fill their stomachs

Please open your heart and stand with us in this time of despair.
We are not asking for much—just a chance to survive. A blanket for the cold. A piece of bread. A roof that does not leak. A moment of peace for my children

I am humbly asking for your help. Your donation, no matter how small, can give us warmth, food, and hope. It can help us survive these dark days and rebuild a life with dignity.
Your support means the world to me and my family.
Please donate 🙏

All the destruction that you see, we live every day a hundred times, and we live hunger, death, and a life that has no taste of life

!Long post and Spoilers!
For the longest time, I remember watching Superman 1978 starring Christopher Reeves for the first time when it was streaming at a Canadian teen channel from my family's cable TV. Child me was so immersed with the idea that a human looking hero has the power of flight, strength, laser vision, and cold breath. It seemed like he came right out from screen. Of course, I wished to have powers like that, who wouldn't? I would definitely beat all the criminals with that, right? That's what you're supposed to use your powers for, or so I thought. Furthermore into the movie and I realized that Superman used his powers for the intentions of saving citizens in danger. From saving Lois falling out from the helicopter, saving a town from a leaking dam, and saving Lois (again) by reverting time at the end of the movie. From that moment, child me realized that powers should be used to help others that find themselves in dangerous circumstances. It was this moment that sealed my fate to become a DC fan. And for a while, I felt empowered, until I wasn't. For most of my life, I then steered away from Superman. I was in a place of darkness, and Batman seemed to be the hero that I felt understood. It's been too long now that I've admired Batman and I feel like I'm still kept in the dark. I couldn't seem to find the light. For the past few years, everything is just in a chaotic spiral and I'm just stuck in my own darkness. I don't feel like getting up anymore. I don't feel like engaging with others. I don't feel like anything in my life would get better. And I've considered myself to be a hermit in society. I really don't think anyone in the world would care about me. I don't think anything I do will be noticed. I have forgotten how to feel hope. I had forgotten how to feel human...
Until I finally watched the Superman 2025 film starring David Corenswet.
Spoilers below. You be warned.
I sat down on my seat with my popcorn on one side. I had my roommate watch it with me. I was so ready for the movie to start and when I heard the rendition piece of Superman's Theme from the opening, I swear to you I almost shed a tear. But you know, it's too early in the movie to cry. Fast forward a couple minutes later, we get introduced to Krypto, the Superman Robots, and the large conflict against Boravia and Jarhanpur. Gunn claims that this country conflict is 'not a reference' to anything in real life, but based on the state of the world right now, it could be. What I find so refreshing is between the debate of Lois and Clark. We thought that it would be some small silly debate, but my goodness this Lois is serious. I think people forget that Lois is an investigative reporter, not just an ordinary reporter, for the Daily Planet and she's one of the best in her team. So I say this when it was so good that Lois pressures Clark on why Superman inserted himself into a war. She wanted to understand why he did it, considering the many internal and government confidentiality surrounding that crisis. Clark explains that he did it to save innocent people. He chose a basic and simple response to a very complex question. And I really think this scene does a good job portraying the roles and beliefs of both characters. Ahh just chef's kiss.
I also love the portrayal of Lex Luthor in this movie. He's supposed to be one of the genius people on Earth, so seeing the fight between the Hammer of Boravia and Superman is such a cool scene. Lex utilizes drones around the perimeter of the fight to predict potential moves from Superman and counter them with attacks. And it's also interesting that this Lex is probably the first of his kind to be so egotistical. Like that man is seething violence. Past Lex adaptations show him to be smug, snarky, and overly confident. And I really think they did a good take on this Lex, hat's off to Nicholas Hoult for his performance. There's a tumblr post here that does a deep dive into Lex's goals, behaviour, etc and I think that's worth a read. Also FUCK YOU LEX. WHY THE FUCK DID YOU KILL MALK LIKE THAT?? Malik's death, though minor to the whole movie, still impacts me. My god, idk how Gunn does it but Superman still strives to save a life despite being near the element that would kill him.
And the introduction to the Justice Gang, lovely man. Guy Gardener is just how I imagined him to be, a fucking asshole. I love him. FINALLY MY GIRL HAWKGIRL IS ON SCREEN. I love Shayera Hol from the animated series. I need girl violence. It's so good. I know that this Hawkgirl is a different one, Kendra Saunders. And that scene, you know that one, is just the right amount of hatred I love to see. Mr. Terrific is a character I am not fully aware of. I remember seeing him from animated series, but I don't think I have gone on a deep dive on the character. But seeing him and his fight on-screen made me really love the character. This guy is known to be the smartest person in the planet and I love how dumbfounded he gets when people with a low IQ than him responds or acts. Like he understands the obvious 'You think?' He's even appalled by Lex's act to create a pocket dimension universe that would tear the planet because Lex is, again, one of the smartest people on Earth but he decides to create a pocket dimension just cause he can.
Okay, finally I cried. That one scene when Superman saved a woman from a building that was going to crash her car. You know that one. God, I cried. For a long while, I have cried. And hearing the score of the iconic Superman theme made me want to levitate in the theater. To save a life like that gives me hope. There's so much I want to say about this movie. SO MUCH. As a casual DC comic fan, I do have high hopes that the DCU's reputation can be restored.
And this movie made me realize why I love these characters in the first place. Because in a world of Gods, they too can act human. They too can act kind. They teach values that most of us had forgotten. They teach us to do good to the world. They teach us to help one another if they are struggling or experiencing something bad. They teach us that every life, no matter how big or small, whether that be a woman, a child, or a squirrel, is worth protecting and saving. They teach us that we forge our own paths and our parents are guiders for us to explore. They teach us that we should smile against the darkness. They teach us to love one another and to love all.
Thank you James Gunn, the actors/actresses, and everybody on the team who has made this movie. I feel human again.

Hello 🙋
My name is Ahmed, I’m 20 years old, and I’m from Gaza City. I used to dream of a peaceful life, completing my education, and getting a job, but the war has turned that dream into something impossible 💔😭. We lived through this massacre in every painful detail, and we are still in pain 😔. We were so happy when the ceasefire was announced, and we returned to our homes in the north of Gaza after being displaced for a year and a half in a tent in the south of the Strip. After we fixed a small room in our destroyed house to live in and start over, unfortunately, the war returned, stronger than before 💔. Now, we have no shelter and no source of income. We have exhausted all our savings during the war. I know that I started my campaign very late, but that’s because there is no other way to help my family 🙏. I am fully confident and hopeful that someone here will help us as much as they can and save my family in these difficult circumstances 😔.

I know that the feeling of starting from scratch is painful and frustrating, but I hope to receive any amount for my family 🥺🙏.
https://chuffed.org/project/helpahmedfamily
Even a small donation would have a great impact on us 🥺. May God bless you, my friend 🥰❤️.
