TobiIzu AU where Butsuma and his Hatake wife have an arranged marriage - one that was arranged to keep the Hatake-Senju alliance strong after a retaliation battle broke out after several years of failed negotiations/resource sharing.
That is what his mom tells him, at least, that to prevent the Senju from fighting a battle on two fronts and the Hatake from losing any more members of their dwindling clan they agreed to marry the two eldest of the clans together.
Except that Tobirama’s parents have a habit of being downright mean and argumentative when in the same room, only to then turn around tell their children how much they admire and respect each other, not only as spouses but as warriors.
Tobirama, ever the inquisitive one, asks his mom how she can respect dad if they can never be in the same room without arguing?
Her answer consists of a long winded explanation that basically says they speak with swords and actions, then words - that when they argue or spar, especially back when their clans were tempting each other into fights at their borders, that they were getting to know the other and it’s why, despite it being an arranged marriage, she loves her husband and finds him worthy of her hand and their children.
Little Tobirama takes all this in and comes to the logical conclusion that fighting the Uchiha must be a mating ritual of sorts and that the fight continues because no one has found a compatible match yet.
Naturally he seeks to rectify this. He does so by scribbling down his plan in a blank scroll that his brother gave him for his 4th birthday. The plans consists of several very important steps:
1 - get stronger
2 - get sent to the battlefield to meet potential suitors
3 - engage with several of them, preferably his age or up to Anija's age (who's 4 years older than him)
4 - single out one Uchiha who's fighting style he enjoys and respects, and who in turn seems to respect his fighting style.
5 - commence courtship via multiple battles/skirmishes until both parties are satisfied with the skills they've seen and then
6 - get married and stop the war
Not bad for a four year old child and his Anija seems to agree with his plan (mostly because he was only half listening and heard - peace with Uchiha and nothing else)
And so he goes, little Tobirama trains long and hard to acquire the necessary skills to become strong and get sent to the battlefield. When he losses his younger siblings to the Uchiha, it just makes him more determined to go and find his match to end this stupid war.
His first encounter with the Uchiha, of course, is at the river where he crosses blades with Izuna Uchiha. The boy is a bit whiny and he worships his weird, spiky haired older brother that Anija is enamoured with, but he stance is strong. And when he gets home, thoughts swirling about Izuna and he catches his expression in the mirror, he recognizes the same face his mom would make when thinking about their father.
Ah, he thinks then, A potential candidate for him to consider.
Next time they meet is on the actual battlefield. And despite trying to find other Uchiha to fight, in order to widen his sample size, Izuna appears before him and steals his attention. Meets him blow for blow, anticipates his moves and keeps his attention until someone calls a retreat. Tobirama finds it only a bit annoying, but at the same time can appreciate a potential suitor who is secure in what they want.
After 3 or 4 failed attempts at fighting someone else, Tobirama decides that Izuna must truly be serious about pursuing a courtship with him. And Tobirama, in turn, is touched that someone wants to court him so much after only meeting him a handful of times. It would feel insulting to not return Izuna's courtship with the same seriousness - so he does.
Tobirama spends hours training and inventing jutsus just to fight Izuna. When he meets him on the battlefield he praises the other's skill, compliments him on any new jutsus or tactics he brings to the field, and once even comments on how the way Izuna uses his Sharingan is truly masterful.
Needless to say, Izuna is confused as to why his self-proclaimed rival who he hates is saying all these things to him. And worse, why he's kind of into it. Which, of course, just makes him train even harder to catch Tobirama off guard. He will defeat the White Demon! For his clan and for his sanity!
Of course every new advancement brings forth more praise and admiration from Tobirama. Especially when Izuna brings out his new lightening based technique and lands, a severe hit on Tobirama. Not enough to be fatal, but enough that Hashirama calls a retreat. And instead of anger or fear, Tobirama looks up at Izuna with a fondness that has Izuna seriously questioning the man's sanity.
Lying on the infirmary bed while Anija fixes him, Tobirama decides that the injury must be Izuna's way of proposing. And he should answer in kind. Thus, the hiraishin is born. A whole new untapped branch of ninjutsu, invented by a man in love. At least, that's how Tobirama views it. And he's nothing if not a perfectionist.
The last battle of the Uchiha vs Senju happens (not that anyone but Tobirama is aware it will be the last) and Tobirama uses Hiraishin on his beloved. There is a brief moment of panic in his chest when he realizes that if Izuna dies then he won't be able to marry him and it increases when Izuna refuses Hashirama's help. But, Tobirama quickly settles that mental conundrum by assuming that it means Izuna only wants Tobirama to heal him.
So, Tobirama, a man in love, breaks into the Uchiha compound and sets about fixing up his fiance. Which is what he tells Madara, his soon to be brother-in-law, when he finds him as he's finishing up the procedure.
Izuna wakes up to a healed side, the news that his fiance is resting in the guest room and an interrogation from his older brother asking why he never bothered to mention he was courting the White Demon? When had his obsession turned into romantic feelings? Did you at least explain to him that he'd have to marry in?
All Izuna can say is: What?
Both brothers. after a short conversation, realize that neither of them have any idea what Tobirama is talking about. However, Madara is not above using this to get a ceasefire and Izuna is morbidly curious to see what he can get away with if his so-called fiance is so in love with him.
In the end, they do get a ceasefire and they do get married, and no one has the courage to inform Tobirama that is perception of the war was way off base. All the while, Tobirama is patting himself on the back for a job well done.

Naruto Founders HP Houses
I'm still stuck in a Warring Era headspace. I don't generally agree with how the sorting in Harry Potter works, especially when there is so much overlap with a lot of the traits. This is also assuming that the main four brothers have to be divided into the four houses. I'd love to hear your thoughts, so!
Senju Tobirama: I would easily put him into Ravenclaw. While he fits with most if not all of the traits assigned, I'd sort him simply due to his intelligence and creativity. While I could name the countless jutsus and such that he made, I think that his skills towards actually designing Konoha and it's civil structure are often overlooked.
Uchiha Izuna: I think he could debatably go between Slytherin and Hufflepuff but I'm going to put him in Slytherin because his stubbornness outweighs his loyalty to his brother... He's a genius in his own right and there's no denying that but I think a lot of his skill comes from repetition and practice over the basics is what kept him so on par with Tobirama who probably had a new technique every time they fought. If that's not ambitiousness, along with his desire to keep his family safe, I don't know what is.
Senju Hashirama: If I'm honest, I feel like he could go either way for the remaining houses but I'm going to put Hashirama as Gryffindor actually. I think the relationship he has with Tobi pulls at the trope where one sibling underthinks while the other overthinks. He's known as the GOD of Shinobi, right? I think that a certain level of brashness is required to acquire such a title. I'd also argue that Gryffindor's, that Hashirama, doesn't think in a world of black and white but almost absolute grey. (That, in my opinion, is why so many Gryf's in HP are so freakin different at their core.)
Uchiha Madara: This one is a little ironic, almost, but I do think that he's a Hufflepuff. It may be a slight bias on my part because I'm a Puff but I think that they're often misrepresented. I think that a big part of Madara's problems was that his sense of loyalty was literally split between his Izuna, his family, and Hashirama. Disregarding Zetsu and his ability to manipulate others and their debatable will, I think that people all too easily say that Madara is bad because he left the village/went rogue. I just bring this up because going back to loyalty, patience and trustworthiness- Madara's choice was taken out of his hands on multiple accounts. Tobi, when he was the one who got one over on Izuna, when his clan said that they wanted peace with the Senju over the arguable continuation of the war and also when he wasn't voted as the Shodai?
I could go into further detail and again, I don't think that HP sortings are as black and white, nor as simple as it's often depicted to be. Another big thing is at what age they should be considered at sorting. If we're talking straight up eleven years old, I would genuinely put the Uchiha brothers and Hashirama all in Hufflepuff just because they'd be more naive in a lot of ways. Tobirama is and always will be, in my mind, a Ravenclaw and honestly one of the best examples of one. There's so many ways things could have gone differently if any one of them did something different. The ripple effects, as well as the following sortings, of a single change would be drastic to say the least.
Other mentions!
Uzumaki Mito: There's not nearly enough known about the Uzumaki in general and what we know about Mito seems like even less than the clan at large, somehow? Either way, I'd say that Mito, at least, is a Ravenclaw... I have so many questions as to what Uzumaki fuinjutsu was actually like between the years of Konoha's founding and when Uzu fell. Still, I think that her Strength of a Hundred seal or whatever, was pretty big even in her time. I think that secondary would probably be Gryffindor based off of vibes and the fact that she left her country to literally join a village that'd been founded by two clans that hated each other since the seeming dawn of time. Pretty crazy.
Senju Touka: This girl is Slytherin through and through. To my knowledge, there's not another kunoichi mentioned during that era for the Senju nor the Uchiha, actually. That being said, I think it's pretty insane that, at least by most fanfics and theory, she took one look at an Uchiha stereotype and said give me a sword and I'll put them in a genjutsu to see how they like it.
Uchiha Hikaku: I feel like a lot of Uchiha's in general..? Could probably be sorted into either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff? I think it's a bit hard to say for sure and I can't really explain it. For sorting sake, I would say Gryffindor because with a lot of stories I've read, the relationship between him, Izuna and Madara is funny.
Uchiha Kagami: Absolute Hufflepuff. If I have one type of trope i like for this time period, it's when baby Uchiha has no sense of self preservation and has to get saved by Tobirama over and over for whatever reasons. Kid takes one look at him and imprints.
For Senju Kawarama and Itama: Kawarama died first, right? It's hard to say for either of them because, I swear, they're only even mentioned in a few episodes at all. I kind of like the idea of Kawa being a Slytherin with Itama prolly being a Puff. Idk.

WIPs
Rules: Make a new post with the names of all the files in your WIP folder, regardless of how non-descriptive or ridiculous. Let people send you an ask with the title that most intrigues them, and then post a little snippet or tell them something about it!
(I've been wanting to do something like this for a while but @moxnix-arts tagged me in theirs so I'm finally going to do it so... I'll probably limit this cause my WIP collection is massive. Way too many of these are OC/SIs.)
FMAB:
-You know the 1999 masterpiece The Mummy? Yeah, this is loosely based off of that. RoyEd story where all of the philosopher/humanculi crap happened (mostly?) about 5000 years previously. Ex-military Roy is on an expedition to find Xerxian ruins and surprise-surprise, what's essentially equivalent to Pharoah!Ed is still alive after all this time. They both try to figure out what the hell is going on.
-SI as the Elrics' older sister. You thought barely older brother Edward was bad? Let me introduce you to middle child Ed Elric. This is a pretty angsty story but I really like it. This explores quite a bit of the outer world, especially Creta and Xing. Let me also tell you that if you also have mixed feelings about Izumi Curtis, this may be good because she is pretty freaking rough in this, lol.
Requisite(d) Remittal: This story is already up on AO3 but I'm always down to talk about it. Older Ed who went through the gate solo gets drafted into the Ishvalin War. Slow burn RoyEd story with tons of worldbuilding centered especially around the Ishvalin people, Ishvala and what it means to be redeemed/war crimes.
Naruto: (This is where I limit myself... never mind.)
Overcast: This one is up on AO3 and features a Nara SI/OC who is taken in by Shimura Danzo/Root. She's younger than Naruto's generation but somehow gets to be besties of a sort with Itachi and orchestrates this whole thing where Tsunade and him both come back to the village. I won't give away anything else cause I don't want to spoil it but this is one of my favorites.
Absent and Demised: Another SI that's already up on AO3 with an Uzumaki OC who rather unfortunately survived Uzu's fall. It's rather political with a lot of tension between the Sannin and what would be Minato's generation. It's Orochimaru/OC, which is pretty rare but good if I'm allowed to say that...
-SI (I know, I know!) as Umino Iruka. I honestly don't *love* Iruka as a character so I started this whole thing because I wanted to see if I can even write a story where I like him and lo and behold: this. OC doesn't even teach at the academy, goes into the Hunters Corps so there's a lot of background that adds angst for Naruto's generation. It delves into the slow but sure taking over of Shimura/Ne with the larger shinobi forces. Kakashi/Iruka.
-I have a fricken Pinterest board of this one- but Hatake SI/OC back during the Warring Era centered sometime around/during Konoha's founding. It's a Hatake story so it's gotta be tragic but I have several OC's that I love. I am honestly torn on the pairings so if anyone wants to talk this... I'm torn between Mada/Tobi (with possible OC so triad) or if I wanna do Tobi/Izu (Because Uchiha Izuna lives!!!) and Mada/OC or whatever the hell. Someone talk to me about this.
-OHBOI, this one. Okay (this one should probably get it's own post but whatever). Uchiha Shisui has an older brother! You know what that means? That means that this poor OC/SI is essentially the hope of the Uchiha clan which is unfortunate because if Itachi and Shisui couldn't handle it, what makes them think this OC can? This is massive in Naruto world building, especially in context of Hi no Kuni as a whole. The Daimyo is an actual, fleshed out character in this one. While I can keep going, I'll simplify it into this: Shisui's older brother is close to Minato, Kushina and Obito but they all still die! Character gets into Root somewhat against his will so you get this interesting Senju(Yamato/Tenzou) and Uchiha dynamic with Kakashi never being part of Root for reasons. Blah, blah, blah- insert Mangekyou Sharingan and this OC is half forced into the role of Kage and he gets to decide between what to fight for and knowing that he's probably going to die anyway :) I honestly have, like, 200 pages but I actually want to rewrite it but its sad and amazing. (I am literally BEGGING someone to ask me about this one.)
-Story where Jiraiya has to take the Kage seat since Tsunade absolutely refuses to. Someone has to take over his spy network and it falls to Naruto. Because their trip to look for Tsunade turns into a networking crash course, Naruto isn't there when Sasuke leaves. That mission goes bad to say the least. Fuinjutsu and Uzumaki exploration, along with Kurama making an early entrance.
-I'm also playing around with a gamerfic rn with (shh, another SI/OC) a character who's born in the capital and isn't technically a shinobi but gets dragged into Konoha for reasons.
BNHA:
-Non-quirk story that's ErasureDeku where Aizawa is a detective and Izuku is essentially Spencer Reed and does what he does best.
-Vigilante!Deku post the doctors appointment and decided to lie about having a quirk. It starts as something botanical but grows into a near wiccan type of genuine power because some sort of entity is glad that they're not completely forgotten in the age of quirks. Another Aideku story but Deku is between Bakugou's age and Aizawa's.
-SI as Midoriya Inko's younger sister. There's a ton of backstory with the 'Akatani's' that definitely gives off fanfiction, lol but I like it. OC gets to be an aunt/older sister to Katsuki and Izuku and gets especially close to Mitsuki and Masaru for reasons. Its and Aizawa/OC that's pretty angsty.
-BakuDeku fantasy featuring barbarian!Katsuki and long lost race dragonborn!Izuku. This story is pretty cool and I have a notebook on the entire lore of it, along with language notes and the pantheon. All for One and Shigaraki is still a thing in this. Angsty but cute if you like that fantasy vibe.
Harry Potter:
-SI as Peter Pettigrew featuring military background and history relating to Grindelwald.
-SI as a single mom who moves into Private Drive and adopts Harry (so HP gets a little brother in this, too). Tons of legal/political happenings that has somehow somewhat included enough mythology that it could loosely be called a PJO crossover...
-Harry is reborn as James' younger brother, same age as Regulus. I honestly haven't read *that* many Marauders fics but it's essentially a fix-it with who'd I consider Regs' friends. Pretty angsty and MOD!Harry included cause of course.
-SI as Lily Evans' older brother. This is one of my favorites cause it really builds on the story of the three brothers, exploration of muggleblood culture, child prodigies and what it'd be like growing up poor in Cokeworth. This one is honestly, like, crazy with worldbuilding. It's one of my faves for sure and I'd love to talk about it if anyone is interested, lol.
-Yet another SI but this one features a concept of Fleamont Potter having a younger brother, Charlus, who's the OC's father. The Potters adopt the girl under pretty gritty circumstances. The political background in this is freaking amazing, if I do say so myself. I've fudged the ages quite a bit but it's another Alphard/OC story of mine so she'd never go to Hogwards with James who's to be her younger brother in ever sense. It somehow has turned into an eventually redeemed Tom Riddle and a Dumbledore who is not nearly as good. Another of my favorites.
Other Fandoms:
-I do have a few ideas written out for tiny!Steve Rogers (where the serum didn't work like MCU). One of which is one where Steve's the one who falls from the train and Bucky is the one who freezes with the Tesseract. The other is where Bucky straight up dies in Azzano.
-YOI story where Katsuki Yuri literally breaks VIctor NIkiforovs records in the junior circuit but is only able to mentally handle one sport at a time because his family isn't *great*. He chooses ballet, which eventually gets into dance in general. Gets a scholarship to Julliard. Video of him ice skating (Phichit) gets leaked and RIP his mental state, honestly.
-I do have a couple of PJO stories, one of which includes the premise of an original 'demigod', which is Nyx' daughter (which means that it's more demiprimordial but whatever). Another one features daughter-of-Poseidon who isn't Sally's but has a rough backstory which causes her to go to camp early. Plays around with the idea of Poseidon having a domain over prophecy pre-Apollo and what that'll mean. Imagine prophetic/earthshaker over terrifying water control if you get my drift.

Modern Madatobi
Here me out:
Senju Butsuma is his normal abusive self, even in this modern world. I'm thinking Kawarama still dies somehow, maybe an accident or illness or something. I think it'd be interesting if Butsuma or their mom had something to do with it but it could go either way. The problems actually start when Itama somehow gets hurt and while Hashi and Tobi are used to it, Tobirama decides that enough is enough.
In my mind, Hashirama is maybe 14 or so, freshman age and that's where he meets Madara. Tobirama isn't at their school yet, probably where Itama is, but Tobi's all introverted and... angry. Hashi loves his brother, obviously, but life is hard.
Point to this is that Tobirama somehow gets the government involved, maybe gets his dad in jail or something. Except it doesn't quite go as he had planned. If the mom is still around, I think it would be an interesting/terrible take if she actually blamed Tobi for, like all of it. Picture Butsuma going to jail and the mom either pretending or outright telling people that she couldn't raise three boys alone and gives up parental rights to Tobi or something? While Hashi is older, his anger is different and he grew up with Tobi either telling him to chill out or get their father's attention away and probably on him. Itama and Kawarama were more sheltered, mostly due to Tobirama but in this, Tobi had to protect all of his brothers even more so in canon verse.
Hashirama is understandably pissed. Since he's in high school at this point, I envision him being super active in clubs or extracurricular's if only to stay out of the house. And as far as he knows, Tobi and Itama are safe because Tobirama is always smart and strong. His younger brother was the one who always protected Kawa and Itama. Half the time, Hashirama felt like Tobirama didn't need him, you know? Not when his younger brother was the one who managed to null their father's anger, always more patient with Butsuma's crap then he was. Growing up, Hashi often felt like his brothers would do better without him to set their father off to begin with.
Except. Except!
Hashirama is over at the Uchiha's or something and Itama is the one who comes banging on the door. The Uchiha's are amazing in this in a lot of ways but mostly, the fact that they have money (nobility, right???), space, structure and more love for their family than Hashi knew was possible. It's not that he's embarrassed that Madara's first impression of one of his brothers is with a bloody nose, questionable bruises and thrice over hand-me-downs. It's not. He's not ashamed he just wishes-
Well, he wishes for a lot of things. But before anything else, Hashirama wishes that the game he was playing with Madara (and prolly Izuna too, let's be honest), wasn't interrupted with the news that Tobirama was getting arrested (or something). That their mom was somehow kicking Tobi out.
Hopefully you're starting to get the picture.
A few notable things I see happening in this is that Hashirama really shapes up but it takes a long time. The guilt get's him bad and I picture, like, teenaged Madara being both hurt and angry that his friend never outright told him that his parents were abusive. He would have helped. I picture the Uchiha's practically took Hashi and Itama in whatever way they could. I could see them being lawyers or some sort of civil servant in this. I think that Hashirama would likely go to medical school (especially if Kawa died of some sort of illness, unless he goes the route of emergency med because of Butsuma). I have no idea what Itama would do. Probably social work or some sort of councilor.
They never stop looking for Tobirama but they don't find him for years.
But!
All of that's in some sort of prelude that leads up to Tobirama enlisting in the military or something and when his time is served (I can't remember what it's called), he tentatively decides to go home. Or maybe he doesn't even go! There's so many ways it could go but let's just say that Hashi and Mads go to some school in a bigger (better) city and Izuna and Itama follow along because of course they would. I really vibe with Tobirama having gone to school for civil engineering while he was in the military and they somehow cross paths.
I have no idea how long this would be or if it would focus on romance and family or maybe evolve into one of those murder/serial type killer type of story.
If this sounds interesting at all, let me know. I cannot get it out of my head.

Art for the amazing fic “Requisite(d) Remittal” by @troublesomefox21
“They honestly had the balls to enlist a kid.” Kimblee, Roy realized, was pissed.
“They wouldn’t do that.” Maes responded flatly. Roy knew that he believed they would, he just wanted it to be false for more than moral reasons. He hated when Kimblee was accurate with information. Hated when the alchemist got it before he did.
“Yeah? Then hells he doing here, huh?”
Roy turned, heart dropping. He didn’t even know what he was looking for. With a tsk, Kimblee half slapped his face a little more to the left and- god.
“Fuck,” Maes said. He said it. Horror plain in his voice. Roy wasn’t even able to do that much. The kid- the honest to god kid- was tiny. He couldn’t be more than ten.
“Why the hell is he here? What-”
“He’s a genius.” Kimblee said quietly. He sighed when they both looked at him. The leer or smirk or grin that was often accompanied by anything he said was gone. The fact that Kimblee recognized how messed up this was made Roy feel even shittier.
“I was talking to some ass-hero-recruit last week. South Basic created a new training exercise. Just for the kid, cause he refused to work with the State Alchemists about a specialty. They thought he was hiding something and they were right.”
“What the hell are you talking about?’’ Maes sounded exhausted.
Kimblee leaned back, heaving a sigh that echoed. “They rigged an acre or so. With the landmines they’d spent the last few months developing. Kid supposedly shoved them all nearly twenty feet further down. People on his team knew he was a kid, obviously, tried to protect him or some shit. He didn’t think to check for any behind him.”
Roy wasn’t following. A glance to his best friend said the same. Kimblee sighed exasperatedly like they were being slow.
“This bomb blew up on this kid, just a couple weeks ago. He shoved every nitro-package further into the ground. Nobody got hurt. And we’ve all seen what they do when one of those poor-sona-bitch Ishvalins step on one. He’s the only one who got hit by one and even then, he was able to sprout enough earth to send him forward so he didn’t get hurt, just singed.”
Roy let out a slow breath, looking at the kid with wide eyes. They were waiting for their packs to get thrown out of the other carriage and then heading to the tent for placements. Roy knew how it worked.
“How did he draw it so-”
“He didn’t.” Kimblee looked more serious than Roy had ever seen. “Word is, he doesn’t actually need arrays for alchemy.”
Roy laughed. He ignored the eyes on him. Maes. His friend wasn’t an alchemist and his reaction told him that this was serious. Hughes straightened.
“Like shit. You can’t transmute without an array.”
Kimblee stood with a stretch. “That’s what they say. I’m not saying it’s possible. Not saying it isn’t. Just wondering what the military would do to the poor kid if it’s true. You know they started drafts?”
“No,” Maes spoke. He was grimacing. Kimblee half grinned, eyes shadowed when he looked at the kid.
“Several months ago, Hughes. Ass-hero said that he was quiet. You know they need alchemists, Flame, he probably didn’t have a choice.” Kimblee slapped them both on the shoulder in what was probably meant to be friendly but was just on the edge of knocking them over. “We should finish this up, yeah? Let this kid get back to his parents.”
Then Kimblee left. With those kind words. Chills raked down their spines. When Mustang turned back to the carriages, the kid was just catching his pack. Roy saw how he hardly budged. The packs were at least fifty pounds. Then the kid turned.
It was unnerving, almost. Hair the color of honest gold and eyes to match. Or they would have, he thought, if they didn’t look so dead. They held eye contact for a moment before the child- child- swung the pack probably half his height and closer to his entire weight onto his shoulder all to easily. And he left, following the string of soldiers towards the placement tent.
“I’m so tired,” Maes spoke. It was quiet enough that Roy didn’t think it was even intentional. He had no words of encouragement. He was half sure that if he tried to speak, he’d vomit. And he hadn’t eaten yet today.

Obkk ghost marriage fic where after kannabi bridge, the Uchiha decide Kakashi can keep the eye but only if he agrees to marry Obito's ghost in a traditional ghost marriage.
(This also means he officially joins the Uchiha clan. Maybe lean into how he knows very little ab his own clan history, so there's like some minor complexes playing off of that as he ultimately takes up the Uchiha name and traditions, effectively abandoning his own -> which could also play interestingly into his negative views of his father at that age. This also means he moves out of his clan compound and into the Uchiha district— which is actually really good for his mental health)
Kakashi doesn't argue, he sees it as the ultimate atonement actually. He's incredibly dutiful but especially so at that age. He'd take it dead fuckin seriously and be the best ghost bride possible. Instead of constantly going to the memorial stone he has like a proper shrine to honor him in the house where he leaves his favorite foods n stuff
Like little 13 year old widower Kakashi w Rin as his witness rip
I'm not the biggest Rin fan bc her canon characterization feels like that usual boring "girl crush turned martyr" (naruto misogony strikes again rip) and I've yet to find any interpretations that really strike me— with one exception.
I don't remember the fic, and Rin only showed up for part of it, but I remember being rlly taken by her in it. It highlighted her being as struck by Obito's death as Kakashi, with her an official mednin working overtime in the hospital as the war ramped up. Also it gave her a smoking habit!! I can appreciate a well played addiction to cope in text. Idk I just read it and kinda went "woah she suddenly feels like a real person to me"
But like, that for Rin here. She's working triple overtime in the hospital, day and night. The war is getting worse and worse and some nights she comes home w her gloves still stained in the blood of her patients from back to back surgeries where her patients died on the table. They have her listed for eye trauma specifically after her successful transplant for Kakashi, and she's proving to be invaluable for the patients w eye based kekkei genkkai. She wants to go into specifically researching and healing for eye bloodline limits, but is struggling to convince the clans to allow her access to that information.
Kakashi's new home is closer to the hospital that Rin's parents, and stuff w her parents is starting to get... tense. It hurts them, to see their daughter struggling like this. To see her coming home with dulled eyes and bloodied hands. To be waken by her nightmares and then not know how to comfort her.
Rin slowly starts staying over with Kakashi more and more and after a while she's just kind of fully moved in, but neither of them actually really talk about it
Let them be best friends w a kind of codependency on eachother that would be concerning if not for how it's very clearly keeping both of their heads afloat as days go on and things get worse.
Queerplatonic besties Rin and Kakashi sharing the same bed so when they wake up screaming they can help eachother go back to sleep easier. Rin likes it when Kakashi summons his ninken to sleep w them. They sleep easier w eachother bc they feel safer knowing they're there to have eachothers back, just like they would on the field
Anyways, Kakashi moves out of his clan compound and into the Uchiha's. He's neighbors with a little 6 year old Shisui and is kind of picked up by the scruff by a lot of Uchiha who have really weird complex feelings ab Obito's death (many of them feeling bad ab not having reached out before to him / seeing him die so young, and then projecting that onto Kakashi)
Kakashi and sometimes Rin kind of accidentally becoming a babysitter for Itachi both bc of proximity and bc Mikoto is friends with Kushina
On that note -> Minato does not really get the ghost marriage thing. He's civilian born, and the practice is really old and hasn't really been used since like, warring states era. So Minato is kind of weirded out and very "uhhh. Are you SURE this is what you wanna do?" But Kakashi seems set, and like, if it helps him cope???
He is however very supportive of getting Kakashi out of the fucking tomb of his father's house and into the much more populated and lively Uchiha clan compound
Minato makes Kakashi ANBU and designates him as his home guard specifically to keep him off the battlefield. He lowkey does the same to Rin (minus the ANBU part) positioning her in the hospital and making sure she's getting that good good mednin education. If pressed on why she doesn't go out as a field medic, he insists it's because she shows too much promise as a healer to risk— not now that they've lost Tsunade. If Rin can grow to be even half as good as she is, it'll be worth keeping her away from the fighting.
Neither Kakashi nor Rin feel very good about this decision (tho hypocritically, they agree w it when it comes to the other, bc ofc they do)
Rin doesn't die bc I say so and Obito does a comedy spit take when he inevitably learns he's legally married to Kakashi under the eyes of the Sage, Amaterasu and all.

Really stupid au where when they were younger, Kakashi and Obito shared an accidental kiss a lot like Sasuke and Naruto. (Kakashi commits to his mask shortly after but will never not insist it's unrelated)
Years later and Kakashi, trying to cheer up Naruto and Sasuke ab their own embaressing accidental first kiss, shares his own story
Then, years later when Obito reveals himself on the battlefield, instead of going "woah, another Uchiha!?" when he hears his name, Naruto can't help but point and shout OH MY GOD UR THE GUY WHO KISSED SENSEI!!!!!!!!
Instant dead silence. (Obito wants to die)
Sakura, who never heard the story ab how it was a one time accidental kiss: "omg... sensei's childhood boyfriend went evil on him... this is so fucked up"
Obito is VIOLENTLY thrown off by this turn of events (and also hasn't actually thought ab it in years oh my god that did happen didn't it)
Kakashi, seeing how badly it threw him off, and also the kind of person who plays hard into throwing people off and generally fucking w them to gain an edge, seeing Sakura mumbling ab lovers to enemies and just kinda goes "Yeah Obito I can't believe you'd do this to me I thought we had smthn special."
"Yeah a rivalry????"
"So I was only ever a way for u to get stronger,, figures u were using me,,,"
[Confused Obito car crash noises]
Sakura yells smthn ab him being a deadbeat and how Kakashi can do so much better and Naruto is instantly shouting in agreement as Sasuke stands there like "hn." Which is basically the same thing for him
Kakashi just starts straight up lying actually
"What about all those picnics we went on... watching the sun set over konoha..."
"Are you talking about when Minato said we weren't allowed to come back inside till we stopped arguing and ate on opposite ends of the roof bc we couldn't even look at eachother without yelling???"
"It was so romantic."
Obito, starting to actually doubt himself, "was that a date????"
(It was not.)
"You died in my arms..."
"I died under a rock"
"We literally got eye married" (not a thing, he just made this up 3 seconds ago)
"We got WHAT" (no one can prove him wrong tho bc no surviving Uchiha knows that much ab their clans marriage traditions)
"Oh my god sensei's husband is a deadbeat" - sakura, horrified (and maybe a little delighted)
"Figures." -Sasuke, who's been in proximity w Obito for some time now and absoloutley believes every word ab this topic Kakashi is saying
"Woah. This is almost as bad as the fact he murdered my parents when I was a baby dattebayo" - Naruto who's priorities are NOT what they should be
"Ok. I wouldn't go that far." - Sasuke, who's priorities are also fucked but not THAT fucked, oh my god Naruto
"No, no he's right. We should kill him even harder for this" - Sakura, who doesn't actually agree but wants an excuse for more juicy sensei love drama (and also wants to see Obito beaten to death anyways)

Fic where Konoha intel somehow find out that a high ranking Akatsuki member is unreasonably horny for Kakashi, and Kakashi gets to go on the most painful honey pot mission of his life w Tobi as his target
Bonus points if the intel is thinking Obito is Madara, like he's always pretending to be
Good morning Kakashi, you got a special mission to go seduce Uchiha Madara, no that is not a joke I'm so sorry ur literally THE only person we can ask to do this
Whether Kakashi has done honey pot missions before or this is his first is up for debate but either way it's sure to be an experience for both him and Obito

Has anyone written the aideku story post canon where hizashi and aizawa were together but then oboro dies and they split. And bakudeku try to make it work, try so hard, but they just can't do it with the divide of kats being a hero and izu being a teacher. So aideku happens and it's sad but it's actually the happiest either of them have been for a really long time?
Cause I don't want to have to write it, I want to read it. But I may not have a choice. And I can't stop thinking about it so pls someone else write it.

writer’s block isn’t real, it’s just your characters deciding to go on strike because they’re mad about how you’ve been treating them
