Malleus has finally been invited to the party. :)
I love how ornate this outfit is and how much it references Maleficent's aesthetic. There was a lot to do between the horns, tail, spikes, and so on, so I included some progress shots and descriptions below the Read More this time for anyone who's interested!
Like White Rabbit Deuce, this doll began its life as a member of a popular boy band. I could ramble about this for way too long, so just to highlight some more interesting points:
I removed the original doll's feet and gave them to Silver's doll. This worked out for both of them because Silver needed larger feet to make his boots look more natural, and Malleus needed smaller feet to fit into Barbie heels.
Malleus's pointy ears and back spikes were made with thin foam and attached with uhu glue. This was also used to glue on his new hair, which I cut from an old black wig.
His tail was made with fabric and stuffed with poly-fil, while his horns were shaped out of aluminum foil and then wrapped in tape and fabric to smooth everything out.
To emulate the silver pattern on his clothes, I layered black lace over gray fabric. For the brighter silver embroidery, I used parts of a lace panel from the back of an old garment I had (this was also used for Silver's cape!)
#twisted wonderland#twst#ooak doll#malleus draconia#twst jp spoilers#book 7 spoilers#twisted wonderland spoilers#doll details#the group shot was taken as a panoramic while i sat in place and turned#hence the weird curve#in hindsight i probably should've shifted my whole body from left to right huh?

Disney released this stunning doll for the 70th anniversary of Cinderella, and I just had to make her outfit for myself. More photos to come, but for now I just wanted to post a side-by-side and some close-ups because I love all the little details.

It's summer where I live! This season always makes me think of fireworks, so it feels like a perfect time to give silk Jamil the spotlight. He especially deserves it since he didn't even have a proper stand the first time I photographed him.

Thank you so much! I'd thought about posting process photos before, but I never ended up taking any because my dolls look so messy before they're fully done (mismatched thread, exposed seams, all of that). I can definitely try to include some moving forward though! Gotta learn to embrace the process haha.
Happy birthday to Silver! I told myself I'd wait until he gets an appropriately princely outfit to make him, and the Dawn Armor did not disappoint.
I finally expanded the collection to the bottom level of my shelf. So many dolls, so little space.

Revisiting an oldie but a goodie. I finally made Vil's apple purse, so I figured I'd roll out the tapis rouge for some more ~aesthetic~ photos. It's what he deserves.

I made Cerberus Ortho! This was such a cool look for him, and I think it suits him very well. The ultimate dream would've been to use functional lights and molded plastic or even metal for all his parts, but I had to make do with the materials and skills that I have.
Much to my delight, I was able to cobble Ortho's body together out of leftover parts from other dolls. Seeing the group together, I'm reminded that it's been almost exactly a year since I posted my first doll (silk Jamil). It's wild how time flies.

Another year, another Katsucon. I made a cosplay of the Second Sister from Black Myth Wukong this time. It was a bit of a hanfu redemption for me, since my first attempt to make one many years ago was such a mess.

Here's a quick side-by-side. I was really pleased with the fabrics I was able to get this time; I think they were a great match for the in-game model. :)

Happy anniversary to TWST EN! I've made doll versions of all the other hometown event stars, so of course I had to include Leona as well.
As always, here's a before photo and a group shot:

Ooh I'm a big fan of Hextian's videos! But I'm a bit intimidated by some of the more advanced techniques, to be honest... Since I knew Rollo's sleeve would cover his elbow, I figured glue would be sufficient this time but I might try hot water another time. Thanks for your comment, and I hope you get the space you need to start doing doll customs soon!
Also I just wanted to take this opportunity to say that this post took off more than I expected, and I'm really appreciative of all the kind comments in the reblogs. I'm a bit embarrassed because I'm definitely not an expert at any of this stuff, but I'm glad my little crafts can spark some joy for you all!
Years ago, I bought a little bell as a souvenir while in Paris. It feels very fitting that it's now decorating the staff of a Parisian.
This was probably the hardest doll to make yet because of the prop, the completely changed hair, and the bending of the right arm (which required an amputation and reattachment). But I wanted to use a Barbie I already had instead of buying one specifically for Rollo, so one does what one must.

Has everyone been having fun with the Harveston rerun? Coincidentally, I've been working on Epel's applepom outfit and just finished it.
This before pic shows the doll whose head I used--only mermaid Barbies seem to have lavender hair, so I actually took her head off and stuck it on a different body. I also modified the legs to ensure Epel would be shorter than everyone else. Gotta keep it accurate, right?

Happy birthday to Ortho! His fairy gala skin is my favorite cosplay I've done, so I wanted to take the opportunity to post some pics of it.

Made a beach Lilia cosplay to wear on Friday of Otakon. Also featuring a tiny tsum Stitch (isn't he adorable?)
I thought this event was so cute, it'd be great if they did more "Lost in the Book" style skins.

The queen has arrived. This one was relatively quick to make because Vil's outfit has far fewer tiny details compared to other TWST designs.
As usual here's a before picture, as well as a group shot. The collection is growing. :)
