I know Ao3 is down at the moment, but it's not that big a deal. Apparently, there were some bookmarking issues, so they decided to take the site down for maintenance until they could get them fixed. There's no need to get so melodramatic over it. At least it wasn't hacked, like it was that one time.

I'd really like to see a Bear in the Big Blue House movie. It'd be live action and would feature puppets similar to the original ones (because the originals would probably be pretty worn out by now). As for the plot, I do have a few ideas.

Some of you may not be aware of this, but there were actually three live stage shows made of Bear in the Big Blue House. The third one, A First Time For Everything, ran in the U.S. from 2002-2003. The summary goes like this:

"The lovable, cha-cha-cha dancing star of Jim Henson's Bear in the Big Blue House is singing and dancing his way to cities across the nation.

Bear in the Big Blue House Live's 'A First Time for Everything' is the all new national touring production starring Bear and his puppet friends from the hit Disney Channel television show.

Join in the fun as Bear is introduced to the Mann family (father Hugh, mother Sarah, and children Jenny and Jordan), who get lost in Woodland Valley enroute to their new home. This exhilarating live theatre experience follows Bear and his friends, including Pip and Pop, Tutter, Ojo, and Treelo, on a journey of first-time feats and Bear welcomes every challenge with open paws! My BITBBH reboot movie would be loosely based on this. There would be three child characters in the movie instead of two, and the youngest would be a fan of the Bear in the Big Blue House show (and thus be intimately familiar with what's going on). The other family members would naturally be dumbfounded. There would be different storylines for the puppet characters in this movie than in the stage show, and no elements after season 3 would be included (though there would be plenty of familiar songs). The puppet characters would have lessons for each of the kids and the parents; the parents in particular would rediscover their childhoods. The human characters, in turn, would help the puppet characters with whatever issues they're facing. (I do realize that this type of movie hasn't always done well, so I'd have to be careful.) Think Enchanted meets Hook with puppets. Get on with it, Hollywood.

(Yes, I know we technically got an adaptation of A Midsummer Night's Dream with Mickey Mouse and Friends already, but that was just a short and they didn't really have time to put everything in, so here's my version.)

When you were a kid, you always wanted to go on adventures, like the kids you always read about or watched in books, movies, and TV shows. Eventually, you grew up and suppressed those desires in order to not be socially ostracized, though there's still a part of you that believes in mysteries and miracles. Then, one day, you quite unexpectedly get your chance to live out the adventure that was denied you in childhood.

Recently, a bunch of model sheets for Amblimation's unmade Cats movie were uncovered by @eye-may. I recently had the pleasure of looking at them, and wanted to show you some of my favorites:

Grizabella looks pretty much exactly how I expected her to look. I don't really have any qualms about this one.

This version of Macavity is the one that really stood out the most to me. I like the simplicity.

Old Deuteronomy, like Grizabella, looks pretty much how I expected him to look. I don't really have any complaints about this one.

Oddly enough, I think this image of Demeter is the one I like best. Also, judging by the fact that all the images of Demeter we get here have no stripes, I think they were going to combine her and Victoria's characters.

These are supposed to be Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer. Reportedly, Steven Spielberg wanted them to be the protagonists of the movie, and it shows here.

I like this version of Rum Tum Tugger the best, since I feel it best captures his raw energy.

On the other hand, I do like the idea of Rum Tum Tugger having a fanboy!

Out of all the Mistoffelees designs on these model sheets, I liked this one best, since it looks the least silly out of all of them. Mr. Mistoffelees is not supposed to be a silly character.

Gus the Theatre Cat looks just perfect here!

I'm not sure how they could include Growltiger in this movie; after all, he isn't actually a living character. Maybe a flashback?
