We’ve realised that our youngest two alters, Alice and Alfie, are twins! It’s great knowing they have each other in the world.

I’ve been seeing posts like these on Instagram for other misunderstood mental illnesses, so I thought I’d have a go at making one myself. 

I think that one of the most frustrating misconceptions about DID is that it is just about having alters or “multiple personalities” as some laypeople see it. 

Alters are just one part of Dissociative Identity Disorder. 

The information above is paraphrased and simplified from the book Coping with Trauma-Related Dissociation by by Kathy Steele, Onno van der Hart, and Suzette Boon. 

The majority of the information above also applies to people with OSDD, since they have many of the same symptoms and experiences as people with DID.

I don’t know where that came from. Chris is usually so upbeat about the system that it’s hard to get him to think about much else. He’s autistic so he hyper focuses on us.

Maybe he does have too much weight on his shoulders. Pushing himself too fast and too far. As Gary Barlow sings: “speed takes what control you’ve got”.

Perhaps that’s why we had a split. He’s never been the same since. Lewis “came from” Chris.

Hopefully we can help Chris to get through what he’s going through.

I hate being a part of a system.

The body is female, leading to dysphoria.

So one of our “friends” played the “I want to kill myself” card last night, and they haven’t been messaging.

We spent the day worrying.

Then it turned out we were just being ignored.

Introduction to the Undomiel System!

Hi! We’re the Undomiel System, but you can call us Star System if that’s easier. We’re very new to Tumblr and would love to make new friends! Here is some information about us:

Alice

Alice is our youngest alter. She is three, and her favourite thing on Earth is butterflies!

Alfie

Alfie is our youngest boy. He is an age slider, sliding from three to five We don’t know much about him, except that he likes playing hide and seek, which is fitting for an alter!

Nova

Nova is relatively new, and inspired our system name by suggesting Star System. She is seven, and holds trauma, so we won’t be sharing much about her.

Lewis

Lewis is also very new. He is ten. We don’t know much about Lewis either, but he is very friendly and would love to meet other alters his age.

Ellie

Ellie is one of our “oldest” alters, having been with the body since the body was eight. Ellie is thirteen and holds a lot of trauma, so we won’t be sharing much about her unless she gives consent.

Chris

Chris, like Ellie, has been with the body since the age of eight. He is fifteen, and acts as our protector.

Kara

Kara is our host. They are genderfluid, so prefers the pronouns they/them, but is content to be called he/him/she/her. Kara is the same age as the body (twenty) but often gets confused about their age, and will refer to the body as being eighteen or younger very often.

Raven

Raven is a fictive protector. She is from Rune Factory 3, and is very quiet and shy. But when you get to know her, she is warm and happy.

Scarlett

Scarlett is a persecutor-turned-protector. She used to abuse the body in order to gain control over situations but now she uses her dominance to assert confidence. She is twenty-six, and absolutely hates messing around.

Roger

Roger is our gatekeeper, so he handles who gets to front and when, rarely fronting himself. He is our only 100% gay alter. He is twenty-eight and his favourite colour is green.

Dave

Dave is our persecutor. He loves to illicit fear if he feels it’s deserved. He rarely fronts but he makes a point of making himself known if he is about to front. He is in his thirties and has a crush on Scarlett.
