HEY HEY HEY heres some old stuff from months ago i drew for an AU i made with @aloysdufour ....this was during my phase of not knowing how to draw kevin's hair right.......might post more bom...?

a comparison of first vernon vs. current vernon.

under the cut is a more thorough comparison. Was too convoluted to be included in the drawing but just know a lot of vernon's facial features were softened/altered completely unintentionally overtime. That little strand of hair on F.V.'s design later became C.V.'s big strand of hair in the middle (i dont know if theyre bangs or not)

TEXT:

Vernon's very first design is much closer to late 1890s style-mid 1910s style. While his collar is still a bit high, it resembles more of a 'polo' fashion, compared to Current Vernon's high-starched 'wing' style. First Vernon's coat was also closer to the frock style and was cut appropriately above the knees. His hair was slicked back to give him a 'magician' look, and a lot of my old art of him even has him in a tophat.

For the face, a lot of his details were softened or changed overtime completely by accident. I also had a very hard time drawing his eyes in earlier art.

Current Vernon's hair and clothing is more accurate to the era which INAE takes place (1880s-1890s). Although his personal fashion would be considered 'outdated' by a decade or two, high-collared shirts and coats weren't unseen. While Vernon doesn't particularly care for appearance, his hairstyle is influenced by popular men's cuts of the era.

if you read this all heres a bonus fact: The reason Soloman's design resembles that of a carnie is because INAE was originally going to take place in a circus setting. i still like the idea, but i wasnt sure how to implement it on the map and it felt too random compared to the other antagonists' settings. Soloman's current design still somewhat matches First Vernon's mid Edwardian look.
